*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Major Sins

The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in
the Quran and by His Messenger (SAW) in the Sunnah (practise of the
Prophet), and which have been made clear by the actions of of the
first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet
(SAW).
There is some difference of opinion among scholars in this regard.
Some say thesemajor sins are seven, and in support of their position
they quote the tradition: 'Avoid the seven noxious things'- and after
having said this, the propeht (SAW) mentioned them: 'associating
anything with Allah; magic; killing one whom Allah has declared
inviolate without a just case, consuming the property of an orphan,
devouring usury, turning back when the army advances, and slandering
chaste women who are believers but indiscreet.' (Bukhari and Muslim)
'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas said: 'Seventy is closer to their number than
seven,' and inthis book Imam Dhabi goesthrough the 70 Major Sins
Supported by the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad
(SAW)The Author Muhammad binAhmad bin `Uthman bin Qaymaz at Turkamani,
Shams al-Din al-Dimashqi al-Dhahabi al-Shafi`i (673-748 AH), the imam,
Shaykh al-Islam, head of hadith masters, critic and expert examiner of
the hadith, encyclopedic historian and biographer, and foremost
authority in the canonical readings of the Qur'an. Born in Damascus

Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of
Allah(saw) said,"Follow the Right Path of Faith strictly, and be
steadfast;and keep in mindthat none of you can achieve salvation
through his (good) action." Someone asked,"Not even you,O Messenger of
Allah?" He (saw) said,"Not even me,unless Allah grants me His Mercy

Hadees

Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu 'anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah,
sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam,said:
"Do not be envious of one another; do not artificially inflate prices
against one another; do not hate one another; do not shun one another;
and do not undercut one another in business transactions; and be as
fellow-brothers and servants of Allah.
A Muslim is the brother of aMuslim. He neither oppresses him nor
humiliates him nor looks down upon him. Piety is here - and he pointed
to his chest three times. It is evil enough for a Muslim tohold his
brother Muslimin contempt. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for
another Muslim: his blood, his property and his honour."

Speak Up But Don’t Argue:

--
A man once asked Imam Ahmad, 'I sometimes find myself in a gathering
where the Sunnah is mentioned, but no-one apart from me has more
knowledge of it. Shall I speak up and say something?'
Imam Ahmad then said, 'State what the Sunnah is, but do not argue over it.'
The man then repeated his statement and so Imam Ahmad said, 'I only
see you to be an argumentative man!'
And this is what Malik (rahimahullah) meant in his saying (after
informing people of the Sunnah), 'Andif they don't accept it from you,
then be silent.'
Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman: 'I heard my father say, 'You can never get a
man to listen to you when you have just angered him.'
- Al-Adab al-Shar'iyyah, by Ibn Muflih al-Maqdisi [pg. 307]
Point of benefit : Advise people of correct actions, the Sunnah, and
the propermanner of conduct etc, but don't push them to the point of
anger and arguments because gettingadvice through to a personin that
state is like trying to force back water flowing from a tap… Instead,
let the heat die down, let the issue close for a while and then try
again when things are calm/ - - -

Is Islam respectful of other beliefs?

Yes. The Qur'an states unequivocally: "There is nocompulsion in
religion." (Qur'an 2:256)
Protection of the rights of non-Muslims to worship is an intrinsic
part of Islamic law. It is also stated in the Qur'an: "God does not
forbid you, with regard to those who do not fight youfor (your) faith
nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with
them; for God loves those who are just." (Qur'an 60:8)
This is why non-Muslim societies and religious places of worship have
flourished all over the Islamic world. History provides many examples
of Muslims' tolerance towards other faiths. For instance, prior to the
Spanish Inquisition, Jews and Christians lived and prosperred in
Andalus (Spain) for centuries under Muslim rule.
Islamic law also permits non-Muslims to set up theirown courts and
implementfamily and personal laws administered by their chosen
religious authorities/

Cherries may help you get a good night's sleep

Researchers.
say Cherries grown in sun-rich Central Otago are a natural source of
melatonin at levels 30 times higher than their northern hemisphere
counterparts.
Melatonin is a hormone that is naturally present in the human body and
aids sleep.
The findings come from research commissioned by Fruision Ltd, a joint
venturebetween Hamilton-based Quantec Ltd, a company specialising in
developing health remedies from natural products, and Alexandra-based
fruit grower Summerfrui, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Previous studies published in the United States have shown northern
hemisphere cherries to have levels of melatonin attwo to 15 nanograms
per gram.
The latest study, undertaken by an independent laboratory in
Australia, has shown Central Otago cherries have500 nanograms per
gram.
When the cherries had been dried, the melatonin levels increased to
3100 nanograms per gram.
Fruision senior scientist Dr Judy Bragger said Kiwi plants are exposed
to moreultraviolet radiation than those growing at a similar latitude
in Europe of North America, and this caused them to produce more
secondary metabolites -- organic compounds that are not directly
involved in the normal plant growth.
"It is these secondary metabolites that the cherries produce that have
such great human health promoting properties when eaten," Dr Bragger
stated.
Moanui Laboratories in Hamilton were already backing the science and
arethe first New Zealand company to distribute a sleep aid derived
from cherries in a capsule form./

Ayath & Defenition

Allah Ta'ala said,
"… And do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our
remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in]
neglect." [al-Kahf: 28]
As for good character, then 'Alqamah ibn Qays (rahimahullah) summed it
up in his final advice to his son as he was on his deathbed:
"O my son, if you ever feel the need to befriend and accompany men,
then accompany the one who protects you when you help him, adorns you
if you walk with him, and supplies you when your provisions run out.
Accompany the one who when you stretch forth your hands in goodness ,
he stretches his hand too, ifhe sees merit from you, he remembers it,
and if he sees bad from you, he remedies it. Accompany the one who
gives you when you ask , who steps up when you are silent, and who
consoles you when calamity overtakes you. Accompany the one who
believes you when you speak , entrusts you when you engage in work ,
and if you fall out, he prefers you to the fallout."
In such cases, it is said:
'Your real brother is he who stays with you
Who harms himself in order to help you
When hard times break you and scatter you
He becomes dispersed just so he can fix you'
But before all that, he mustbe knowledgeable after having attained
wara' (piety), so that you can benefit from his knowledge too. Luqman
said to his son, "O my son, sit with the scholars, crowd them with
your knees! For indeed, hearts come to life with words of wisdom just
like the dead earth comes back to life with the downpour of rain.""

Miniature honeycomb 'grows nerve'

A "miniature honeycomb" - or scaffold - could one day be used to
encourage damaged nerves to grow and recover, according to an
international group of researchers.
The scaffold can channel clusters of nerves through its honeycomb of
holes, eventually healing a severed nerve.
The findings of their study on mouse nerves are published in the
journal Biofabrication.
Academics hope to one daytreat spinal cord injuries with the scaffold.
When nerves are severed, such as in car accidents, it can result in a
loss of feeling and movement.
Repairing this damage can be a challenge - but nerves outside of the
brain and spinal cord can repair themselves, if only over short
distances.
Tube links
One technique to improve this repair is to use tubes. Either end of
the severed nerve is placed in a tube and the two ends of the nerve
should grow and joinin the middle.
Researchers at the University of Sheffield and Laser Zentrum Hannover,
Germany, investigated using a honeycomb structure.
Dr Frederik Claeyssens, from the department of materials science and
engineering at Sheffield, told the BBC: "That is much more like the
structure of the nerve itself.
"The nerve has small regions of 'cable' that go through from one end
to the other end, you have a whole bunch of little cablesinside a
larger cable, that's what we tried to reproducewith this type of
scaffold."
The honeycomb is made from photopolymerizable polylactic acid, which
biodegrades once the nerve has repaired.
The researchers showed nerve cells could grow on the scaffold and are
now testing it in mice to see if itcan fully repair the damage.
Dr Frederik Claeyssens said:"This technology could make a huge
difference to patients suffering severe nerve damage."
Scaffold technology is used in a range of "regenerative medicines".
Building a scaffold and then coating itwith human cells has, for
example, been used to givepatients new windpipes and bladders/

Too Small to Make a Difference? – Ask a Mosquito

"If you think you're too small to make a difference, you haven't spent
the night with a mosquito." – African proverb.
A mosquito makes a difference in an annoying way, but the principle is
the same. One person can stop a great injustice. One person can be a
voice for truth. One person's kindness can save a life. One person
matters./

Who Invented Chocolate and Where Does Chocolate Come From?

Who Invented Chocolate and Where Does Chocolate Come From?
Chocolate comes from the cacao tree which has been cultivated since
1100 BC in Mexico, Central and South America.
We now know that the Aztecs made chocolate beverages called xocolātl,
which means "bitter water" in Nahuatl. Chocolate was used in Maya and
Aztec royal and religious rituals, and the oldest known cultivation
ofcacao was discovered at a site in Puerto Escondido, Honduras.
Chocolate was an important luxury good throughout the Aztec empire,
and cocoa beans were even used as currencybecause cacao could not
begrown locally.
Eventually, Chocolate drinks were introduced in Europe in the 16th
century, and the Europeans added cane sugar to counteract the natural
bitterness. It was served cold and became very popular in Spain after
the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs.
In the 1800s, chocolate in solid form was invented, and the British
family Fry claims to have marketed the first ever solid chocolate bar
in 1846.
During the Industrial Revolution, mechanical mills were created that
squeezed out cocoa butter, which helped simply mass production of
chocolate. Many people contributed to the modern Chocolate making
process including van Houten, Henri Nestlé, and Daniel Peter who first
used milk powder to createthe first milk chocolate in 1875./

Over the nutrition hump National Research Centre on Camel is promoting the nutritive value of camel milk, reason enough for local people to change their stance on its sale

The once sleepy cities of the Thar desert are undergoing rapid change.
With industrialisation further eroding rural livelihoods, promoting
camels by utilising their milk in the marginal drylands of Rajasthan
can go a long way in ensuring food security for desert communities.
The versatile 'ship of the desert', which provides milk, meat, wool
and transportation for the locals – and India's Border Security Force
– has long survived the harsh conditions of its unforgiving habitat.
In fact,if nurtured, the Indian Dromedary camel is one species that
can best sustain itself under changing climatic conditions and growing
water scarcity.
The camel is already an invaluable asset for families like that of
Janav Khan from Sam Village, about 45 km from Jaisalmer. It not only
provides Khan with a livelihood but also offers his family much-needed
nutrition. While he uses the male camel to take tourists for camel
rides, thefemale camel's milk is fed to his two sons and a daughter,
all below 10 years, twice daily. Tightly wrapping a boldly-embroidered
camel wool shawl around himself, which provides protection against the
chilly winds sweeping the dunes, Khan says, "I also have two cowsand
two dozen goats and sheep. We sell goat and cow milk, but camel milk
has always been for home consumption since centuries."
Though camel milk is widely consumed in the villages of the Thar
desert, it is seldom sold due to various religious and socialbeliefs.
Talking to the local camel owners, one discovers that there is a
belief that if camel milk is sold, the camel will die. Jagmal Singh
Raika, 45, from Gadhwala village near Bikaner in northwestern
Rajasthan, adds, "However, we consume the milk in our extended
family."
Jagmal belongs to the Raika community, which have been traditional
camel breeders in India. Heowns 150 camels, of whichabout 25 yield
milk to the tune of 60 litres a day. He is now seriously contemplating
selling the milk in the market.
The Bikaner-based National Research Centre on Camel (NRCC), where
Jagmal has served as an Institute Management Committee member from
2004-2007, has been promoting the nutritive and medicinal properties
ofcamel milk. Rajasthan has atotal population of 4,21,836 camels and
90 per cent of these are foundin the northwestern regionof the State.
As most people here survive on rain-fed agriculture, selling camel
milk and milk products could multiply daily incomes manifold. Today,
the market price forcamel's milk is between Rs 20 and Rs 22 per litre.
But as demand grows, so will income.
At present, camel milk is not consumed by the general public because
of its unavailability and unacceptability in comparison to cow and
buffalo milk, which is also found in abundance here.
But how does camel milk compare with cow, buffalo or goat milk? "Camel
milk has several nutritional advantages. The moisture and protein
content in camel milk is higher than in cow's milk. Also, it has a
comparatively low percentage of total solids and fat and contains a
higher concentration of insulin along with significantly higher values
of trace minerals," informs Dr Gorakh Mal, Senior Scientist, NRCC.
Camel milk is also rich in minerals and contains protective proteins
and enzymes. "Peptidoglycan recognition protein has been detected in
camel milk, but not in cow's milk. This enzyme has broad
anti-microbial activity and has the ability to control the cancer
metastasis. It also has a greater concentration of whey proteins
compared to cow's milk. Consumption oftotal whey proteins in the diet
has been associated with the retardation of chemically induced cancers
in several animal models," adds Dr Gorakh Mal.
Besides, the availability of a relatively higher amount of Vitamin C,
a powerful anti-oxidant in raw camel milk, is of significant relevance
in arid and semi-arid areas. According to researchers at the NRCC,
camel milk exhibits a hypoglycaemic effect whenadministered as an
adjunctive therapy, which could be due to the presence of an
insulin-like protein beneficial for diabetics. It can also be used as
supportive therapyin the treatment of tuberculosis.
For Shankar Rewari, 40, camel breeding has been an ancestral
occupation. A resident of Digri Dhani in Sarada village, 62 kilometres
from Udaipur, he owns 40 camels and sells about 20 litres of milkdaily
to hotels/

Subhanallah

If His benevolence, reward, blessing and goodness has no end when all
of these are a consequence and result of His pleasure, whatthen of
this attribute of His pleasure? It is related in a tradition, 'If I
bless, there is no end to my blessing.' What then of the quality from
where this blessing emanated? Pleasure necessitates love, benevolence,
generosity, kindness, pardon, ṣafḥ, forgiveness and mercy.
Juwayriyyah, the mother ofthe believers, may Allāh pleased with her,
related that the Prophet, may Allāhsend peace and blessings upon him,
left her sitting inher place of prayer one morning after having prayed
Fajr. On his return during the forenoon he found her still sitting as
he had left her, he asked
, 'Are you still in the same state as when I left you?' She replied,
'Yes'. The Prophet said, 'I said after leaving you four sentences
three times - if you were toweigh them against what you have said
today up until now, they would outweigh them: Subḥānallāh wa biḥamdihi
'adada khalqihi wa riḍā nafsihi wa zinata 'arshihi wa midāda
kalimātihi'."[ [1]
Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, provided a commentary
onthese words of remembrance in one of his works, al-Manār al-Munīf
fi'l-Ṣaḥīḥ wa'l-Ḍa'īf [2] He says:
In regards to the multifold excellence of, "How perfect Allāh is and I
praise him by the number of His creation;by the pleasure of His self;
by the weight of His throneand by the ink of His words," over simply
saying,"How perfect Allāh is," a praiser's knowledge of Allāh and the
exaltation and veneration of Him thatoccurs in his heart is far
greater. This is known as intensified remembrance (dhikr muḍā'af) and
is a superior form of praise than simple remembrance (dhikr mufrad),
and as suchthe former is preferred to the latter. This really takes
affect once one has awareness and understanding of these words of
remembrance.
Glorifying Allāh with, 'How perfect Allāh is and I praise him by the
number of His creation' includes both information and instruction. It
comprises of information about the glorification that the Lord
deserves - of the number of each of creation that hasexisted, exists,
and will exist to which there is no end; and it informs of the
exaltation, veneration and sending of praise by this enormous quantity
that cannot be enumerated.
It also embodies an instruction for the slave to glorify One whose
status is of this manner - it does notmean that the glorification the
servant has made is of this level and number but that the servant has
affirmed that the Lord subḥānahu wa ta'ālā is deserving of
glorification that reaches this number, which if could be surpassedby
an even greater numberwould have been mentioned - the continual new
creation that come into existence have no end to their number and
cannot be enumerated by one wishing to put a number to them.
Likewise, the phrase, 'by the pleasure of His self' carries two
considerable points, the first is that the intended meaning is a
glorification that in terms of magnificence and majesty is equivalent
to the pleasure of His own self, similar to the first phrase showing
the glorification equivalent to the number of creation. No doubt that
the pleasure of Allāh's self is a matter that has no end in terms of
magnificence and description. Glorification is a praise of Him
subḥānahu embodying veneration andexaltation. If the descriptions of
his perfection and the qualitiesof his greatness have no end or
limitation but are instead far superior and imposing, praising Him in
this manner would be likewise (superior) as it is follows suit both in
an informative and instructivemanner. This meaning is harmonious to
the first part without any disagreement.
Creation
necessitates knowledge, ability, intention, life and wisdom. All of
these are encompassed by the pleasure of His self and the quality of
Him being a creator/

THERE IS REMEDY FOR ALL DISEASES EXCEPT OLD AGE
Narrated Usamah ibn Sharik:

I came to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_ him) and his Companions were
sitting as if they had birds on their heads. I saluted and sat down.
The desert Arabs then came from here and there. They asked: Apostle of
Allah, should we make use of medical treatment? He replied: Make use
of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without
appointinga remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely
old age.

LEARN, MEMORIZE & REPEAT THIS DU'AA ALL THE TIME:

LEARN, MEMORIZE & REPEAT THIS DU'AA ALL THE TIME

"Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, he
surely, will receive an easy reckoning."(84:7-8) meaning, easy without
any difficulty.
This means that he will NOT be investigated for all the minute details
of his deeds. BUT verily, whoever is reckoned like that
(investigated), he will certainly be destroyed. Imam Ahmad recorded
from `A'ishah that the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu 'alyhi wasallam)
said,
«مَنْ نُوقِشَ الْحِسَابَ عُذِّب»
"Whoever is interrogated during the reckoning, then he will be
punished." `A'ishah then said, "But didn't Allah say,
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَاباً يَسِيراً
"He surely will receive an easy reckoning." '' The Prophet replied,
"That is not during to the Reckoning, rather it is referring to the
presentation. Whoever is interrogated during the Reckoning on the Day
of Judgement, then he will bepunished."
(This Hadith has also been recorded by Al-Bukhari, Muslim,
At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasa'i and Ibn Jarir)
May Allah forgive our sins and bless us all with an easy reckoning/

Abu Hurayrah (r) reported that the Prophet salAllahu 'alayhi wasallam said:

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman:

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman, who is not satisfied with
one husband. So! be satisfied with whatever Allah grantsyou from this
worldy life. Walking thereon is like walking in a land that is filled
with beasts, and water that teams with crocodiles. That which causes
delight, turns to be the source of grief. Pain is found in the midst
of pleasures, and delights are derived from its sorrows. As a bird
sees the wheat, sodoes one's insight perceive polytheism, while vain
desires render its holder blind. Lusts were granted in abundance to
humans, but those who believed in the unseen turned away from them!
while those who follow their lusts werecaused to regret. The first
category, are those, in which Allah says, which means,
They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the
successful. (AI-Baqarah, 2:5)
However, the other category, are those to whom Allah says which means,
(0 you disbelievers)! Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life)
for a little while. Verily, you are the MujrimGn (polytheists,
disbelievers,sinners, criminals, etc.) (AI-Mursalat,77:46)
When the successful ones are aware of the reality of this worldly life
being sure of the inferiority of its degree, they overcame their vain
desires for the sake of the Hereafter. They have been awakened from
their heedlessness to remember what their enemies took from them
during their period of idleness. Whenever they perceive the distant
journey they must undertake, they remember their aim, so it appears
easy for them. Whenever life becomes bitter, they remember this verse,
in which Allah says, which means,
"This is your Day which you were promised". (AI Anbiya', 21:103)/

Boy's football lost in tsunami found in Alaska

A football swept away by last year's tsunami and found on a remote
Alaskan island is to be returned after its teenageJapanese owner was
identified.
Sixteen-year-old Misaki Murakami's name was written on the ball that
was swept out to sea in March 2011.
David Baxter found it morethan a year later on Alaska's Middleton
Island, 70 miles (112km) from the mainland.
Mr Murakami told Japanesemedia he was sure the ball was his and would
be happy to have it back.
"I'm very grateful as I've sofar found nothing that I'd owned," he
told broadcaster TBS on Sunday.
Mr Murakami lives in the town of Rikuzen-takata, which was very badly
hit by the tsunami.
On the day of the disaster the school boy was at home sick, but fled
to higher ground when the earthquake struck, Kyodo News reported. His
home was then swept away.
The ball - given to him by his classmates in 2005 when he moved
schools - was found by US man David Baxter on a beach in Middleton
Island.
According to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) , Mr Baxter's Japanese wife translated the writing on the ball,
which included a school name and a "good luck" message.
"This may be one of the first opportunities since theMarch 2011
tsunami that a remnant washed away from Japan has been identified and
could actually be returned to its previous owner."
The couple reportedly plan to send back the ball to Mr Murakami. They
also found a volleyball but have not been able to identify the owner.
NOAA has been monitoring floating debris from the tsunami over the past year.
The shrimping boat Ryou-Un Maru, which was traced to the Japanese
island of Hokkaido, also drifted to Alaska.
The US Coast Guard sank the crewless ship, which was first spotted off
the coast of the Canadian province of British Columbia on 23 March./

Breivik trial: Phone delay 'caused more Breivik deaths'

Anders Behring Breivik called the police to surrender, but then
decided to carry on killing "till I die" when they failed to return
his call, he has told his trial in Oslo.
He said his plan was to kill as many people as possible.
But he said he had tried to spare some of the young people caught up
in the killings on Utoeya island who he thought were under 16.
Breivik has admitted the Oslo bombing and island shootings that killed 77.
The trial will decide whether he is sane. Furtherpsychiatric work has
been requested in the light of evidence he has given.
So far, two evaluations have been published, the first finding him
legally insane and the second saneenough to stand trial.
Breivik said he would do"anything to prevent" committal to a
psychiatric hospital.
Earlier, he said he had "lost absolutely everything" on 22 July 2011,
all his family and friends, therefore he understood the loss he
imposed on others.
But he said the killings were "a small barbarian actto prevent a
larger barbarian act".
In July last year, Breivik set off a car bomb near government
buildings in Oslo, killing eight, and thenmassacred 69 participants in
a Labour Party youth camp on the nearby island of Utoeya/

Different strategies for attracting people to you

There are several ways to attract people to you and to make them fall
in love with you however most ofthem fall under two majorcategories.
The first is attempting to attract a person who doesn't know that you
likehim and the second is attempting to attract a person who already
knows that you like him.
In my previous article Whybeing mysterious works isaid that its much
better to do your best to attract a person before telling him that you
like him simply because the more mysterious you appear to be the you
will tempt yourtarget to think about you and the more he will become
attached to you. (see The secret to attracting love )
Now in some cases you might be forced to blow your cover a bit early
before you attract the person and that's why i decided to write this
article to tell what you should do in case you had to reveal your
intentions before the right time.
Attracting someone whoknows that you like him
After a person knows that you like him he will either get into a
relationship with you or he will either back off. I am assuming of
course that this person decided to back off after you told him that
you like him .
The first thing you need todo is to ask that person to be a normal
friend. And after he agrees you shouldnever bring the relationship
subject again. What we are trying to do here is to let that person put
his defenses down again so that we can sneak unnoticed.
During that time give that person all the care he needs (but as a
friend), stand beside him in his down times without declaring any of
your emotions and keep contacting him on regular basis everyday.
After some time that person will start to get addicted to the care and
nurturing you are providing him with and this is the point where
youshould pull back. (see also How to make someone addicted to you )
If you found him chasing you then know that you have already managed
to attract him to you a little bit and all what's left now is to
increase the intensity of attraction.
How to intensify the attraction levels
In my book How to make someone fall in love with you i said that the
best way to intensify attraction levels is to disappear when a person
needs you the most and tocome back whenever he isabout to give up on
you orto lose interest. (see also Attracting someone whois not
interested )
During that same time youshould use your common friends to program the
mind of your target by letting them speak about you in a good way in
your absence. The more they say your name and mention your good traits
the more will your target feel like he lost a treasure. (see also
Subconscious mind programming )
Now if the subconscious programming was done alone while you were
already available then your target will not think about you that much
because of feeling that he can get you anytime, however, if people
started mentioning how good youare while you became mysterious and not
as available as before then your target might start going after you
once again.
If it happened that your target didn't try to go after you then repeat
the process once again. Get closer to him again, try to make him used
to your presence once again then disappear all of a sudden when you
feel that he is becoming attached to you.
This technique will provide you with a great chance to make that
person who rejected you earlier go after you.

The language of paradaise...

The Language of the People of Paradise
By
Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah -Rahimullaah-
Translated by
Abbas Abu Yahya
Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah -Rahimullaah- was asked:
'In what language will the people be spoken to on theDay of
Resurrection? Will Allaah Ta'ala speak to the people in Arabic? Is it
true that the language of the people of Hell-fire will be Persian and
the language of the people of Paradise will be Arabic?'
He -Rahimullaah- answered:
'All praise belongs to Allaahthe Lord of all the worlds, it is not
known in what language the people will be spoken to on that day, nor
in which language theywill hear the address of theLord –Jala wa Ula'-
becauseAllaah Ta'ala did not informus of anything about this, nor did
His Messenger-sallA llaahu alayhi wa sallam.
It is not authentic that Persian is the language of the people of the
Hell-fire or that Arabic is the language of the people who will be in
eternal blessing.
We do not know of a dispute between the Companions -Radi Allaahu
anhum-, rather all of them refrained from this, because speaking about
these types of things is from futile speech . . . However, there
occurred a dispute between the people who came later so some of them
said that: the people will converse in Arabic. Others said: 'No,
thepeople of Hell-fire will reply in Persian and it is their language
in Hell-fire.'
Others said: 'They will converse with Syriac (an Eastern Aramaic
language) because it is the language of Adam and from it all other
languages branched off.'
Others said: 'No, the peopleof Paradise will speak Arabic.'
There is no basis any of these opinions by those who hold them,
neither intellectual nor transmitted, rather it is a claim devoid of
evidence and Allaah – Subhana wa Ta'ala – is most Knowledgeable and
most Just.'

Relish the fruit!

Henna and its uses in thepast and today

"The best thing with which to color your gray hair is henna or katm."
[Abu Daawood and At-Tirmithi]
Jaabir Ibn 'Abdullaah narrated that Abu Quhaafa (the Father of Abu
Bakr) came on theday of the conquest of Makkah with his hair and beard
extremely white. The Prophet said: "Change his hair color with
something and do not use black."
Salmah, the Prophet's ,maid, said: " Anyone who complained to the
Prophet from pain in his head, he would say tohim, 'cup it. ' And when
complained from pain in the foot, he would tell him, 'Dye it with
henna.' " [Abu Daawood and Ibn Maajah]
She also said: "Whenever the Prophet had an ulcer, fester or eczema,
he ordered me to put henna on it." [Authentic, Jaami' al-Usool by Ibn
al-Atheer]
Henna has been utilized since ancient times as a dye to color the
nails, hands, feet and hair. The traditional henna is manufactured
from a plant known as LawsoniaAlba. This plant is cultivated in Saudi
Arabia, India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Egypt, North Africa and Australia
among others.
The effective dye component of henna is called Lawsone. It consists of
fat, resin, manitol and volatile oils.
It is mentioned in the Islamic Encyclopedia of Medicine that the
ancientEgyptians used henna in mummification.
The Egyptian henna is typically a green substance that gives the hair
a reddish brown color. Other colors are obtained by adding otherdyes
to the natural henna. Some women in Sudan add a substance called
paraphenylen ediamine to the henna toreduce the time needed for dyeing
from an hour to several minutes. But this mixture can be fatal
although its cause is unknown and this is whypeople who apply henna
are warned against adding this substance. Henna in itself is safe
anddoesn't have any known side effects. It is 100% natural. The henna
foundin different brands of shampoos in stores and pharmacies is free
of this substance.

Advice from a Mountain

No matter how great you are, Allah is still above you.
There's nothing wrong with having your head in the clouds, as long as
you have roots in the earth. Rise above the bigotries and squabbles of
others. Tobe beautiful and strong, be who you are. In anything, build
your foundation first. Be solid, be real. Provide refuge to the
oppressed, the traveler, the seeker. Keep your secrets. Protect the
rivers, trees, and animals. Cherish silence and solitude, but roar
when you must.
Be patient: everything changes in its season, and all things come to

Faith, love and kindness are secret weapons to change the world

Faith, love and kindness are not cute ideas or naive catchphrases.
They are elemental forces with the power to alter human hearts, and to
change the world. They are transformative emotions and behaviors that
were bestowed upon us by Allah, who is Al-Rahman (The Most Merciful)
and Al-Wadood (The Most Loving). They are stronger than hurricanes,
and they transcend the birth and death of individuals, and the rise
and fall of nations.
Don't we still have love for the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), and for
the Sahabah, all of whom lived many generations and nations ago? In
fact we look upon them as our heroes and leaders and we love them as
if they were dear friends. This is proof of the enduring nature of
love, which survives when all else changes around us.
Faith, love and kindness are the secret weapons that Allah has given
us to conquer corruption, cynicism, hatred, racism, and evil, in
ourselves and in the world.
These ideas are not naive, as some might say. Was the Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh) naive? He suffered in his mission, but he persevered. His
mission was rooted in faith and love of Allah, and expressed through
kindness to all people. There are so many stories about him showing
tremendous kindness to rude and even murderous people, and changing
their hearts in the process. He succeeded in the face of impossible
odds. His success is a testament to the power of these noble emotions
and behaviors.
That's why I illustrated thispiece with a photo of sun rays shining on
a dark and snowy world. Because these powerful emotions and behaviors
are not the stuff of sunny afternoons, cotton candy and daisies. They
are like a guiding starthat is only seen in the darkness. They come
into their own and show their true power by confronting and overcoming
hatred, bitterness, painful loss, war, poverty and despair.
I describe them as behaviors because faith that exists only in the
heartis not true faith. Faith is proven by action. Faith is defined by
the way you live your life. The same is true for love and kindness.
Love is a verb, not a noun. It's not an abstract feeling in your
heart, but a matter of behavior, the way you treat people, the way you
help, forgive, and show mercy to people.

The ordeal of ill health

For any poor person in India, to fall ill is a monumental calamity,
because whatever public health services exist are beyond their reach.
In cities, health facilities are available in private clinics and
large public hospitals. But it is hard for poor city residents to
enter their doors. The obstacles are highest for homeless persons,
stigmatised by public authorities as illegal, illegitimate, unsanitary
burdens on the city and its infrastructure, including hospitals.
Public health scholar and paediatrician Vandana Prasad undertook a
study to understand the barriers faced by adult street dwellers in
Delhi in accessing health care. The study focused on this most
marginalised and socially invisible urban population living on city
streets, including able-bodied casual workers, rag-pickers,women who
escape or are expelled from violent and abusive homes, and
peoplesuffering from a variety of disabilities (including mental
illness).
Almost all homeless peopletypically suffer major health problems, not
surprisingly because they are forced to sleep rough, exposed to
extremes of theseasons, and with virtually no access to clean drinking
water, sanitation and home-cooked food. Their health burdens were
reported by the Health Initiative Group for the Homeless based on a
survey of 2,955 homeless respondents: "A high proportion of homeless
people were suffering fromserious respiratory ailments including
tuberculosis, acute and chronic infections, skin diseases and
diarrhoeal diseases". Our earlier research by the Centre for Equity
Studies found that health issues may be also the reason for
homelessness in the first place, including mental illness, mental
retardation and stigmatising illnesses that precipitate homelessness.
Prasad's study clearly documents the occurrence of catastrophic
illnesses as a factor that has tipped poor people into homelessness
The study finds that upper-most among the many barriers faced by the
homeless in attempting to access public health care services is simply
the lack of money. They lack BPL cards which would otherwise make them
eligible for free medicines, and are forced to buy medicines and pay
for tests. Many give up because they cannot affordthe services even of
public hospitals, with devastatingoutcomes on their health,
livelihoods, and their survival with dignity. The researchers
encountered from a very small sample three able-bodied, working,
homeless men who suffered injuries which could have been treated. But
they could not afford the cure in government hospitals. As aresult
today they are permanently disabled, and forced to beg life-long/

Meteor 'fireball' rattles homes in Nevada, California

A loud explosion heard across much of Nevada and California rattled
homes and prompted a flood of calls to law enforcement agencies on
both sides of the Sierra Nevada mountains, some reporting fireball
sightings.
The sound and the light show were likely caused by a meteor that
entered Earth's atmosphere yesterday, astronomers said.
"It made the shades in my room shake hard enough to slam into the
window acouple times," said Nicole Carlsen of the Reno area. "Ikept
looking for earthquake information, but (there was) nothing. I even
checked the front of my house to make sure noone ran into the garage.
I wish I had seen the meteor."
Erin Girard-Hudson of Arnold, California, told The Union Democrat of
Sonora,California, that the loud boom that occurred around 8 a.m. made
her 2-year-old daughter, Elsie, cry.
"It knocked me off my feetand was shaking the house," she said. "It
sounded like it was next door."
No damages or injuries were immediately reported. There were no
reports of earthquakes at the time.
Some people reported seeing a brilliant light streak across the sky at
the same time. Sightings occurred over roughly a 960-kilometre line
across the two states, including Reno, Elko and North Las Vegas in
Nevada, and the San Francisco, Sacramento and Bakersfield areas in
California.
Astronomers said they believe the mysterious light was a fireball,
which is a very bright meteor. It will take time to determine the path
of the fireball and where it brokeup, they added/

The Life of this Worldis Fleeting Enjoyment

"Know that the life of thisworld is only play and amusement, pomp and
mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respectof wealth and
children. (It is) like a rain (Ghayth), thereof the growth is pleasing
to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow;
then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe
torment, and (there is) forgiveness from Allah and (His) pleasure. And
the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment." [57:20]
Allah the Exalted degrades the significance of this life and belittles
it by saying,
"that the life of this worldis only play and amusement, pomp and
mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respectof wealth and
children."
Meaning, this is the significance of this life to its people, just as
He said inanother Ayah,
"Beautified for men is thelove of things they covet; women, children,
much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and
well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world's life;
but Allah has the excellent return with Him." ( 3:14 )
Allah the Exalted also sets aparable for this life, declaring that its
joys are fading and its delights are perishable, saying that life is,
"Like a rain (Ghayth)," which is the rain that comes down to mankind,
after they had felt despair/

أسلام عليكم Your “Stuff” is Not a Part of You:

Hopefully it never comes tothat. But seriously, those times of
greatest sadness and joy are when our thoughts must turn to Allah, The
Eternal, The Merciful, The Wise.
Allah says, "Never will you attain the good until you spend from that
which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allahis Knowing of
it." [Quran 3: 92]
Think about that. Allah is telling us to give away the things that we
love the most! SubhanAllah! Why does Allah ask this of us? Is it to
liberate us from slavery to material possessions? To f0cus our minds
on Allah and the aakhirah (hereafter)? To prevent the evil that
results from the love of money? To benefit the poor?
Yes, for all of those reasons. Excessive attachment to any
materialthing is misguidance. The love of possessions is a spiritual
trap.
I have at times given away things that were precious to me, thinking
they wouldmean as much to the otherperson as they do to me. Sometimes
they do, and sometimes they don't, and yes it hurts my feelings when
the other person doesn't value my gift; but eventually I get over it,
because the point is the actof giving. And maybe – Insha-Allah – I'll
have something to show Allah on Yawm Al-Qiyamah (the Day of
Resurrection), maybe I'll be able to say, "O Allah, I gave away
thesethings that I loved," and maybe that will earn me some
forgiveness, Allah knows.
There is a powerful spiritual lesson in taking anobject that you love,
and giving it away. I remembera middle-aged brother named AbdulKareem
(Damis-Salaam, for those ofyou who know him). He worked hard,
supported a family, and got by on a tight budget. One time he got a
nice brown leather coat, the long kind that comes down to the knees.
It looked good on him. Then a younger brother, a teenager with poor
manners, said, "Man, that's a cool coat. Can I have it?" Without a
word,/

The Prophet Salallahu Alyehe Wasallam said, "I know a phrase which, if
he repeated, he could get rid of this angry feeling." They asked,
"What is it, Apostle of Allah?" He replied, "He should say 'I seek
refuge in Allah from the accursed devil.'" [Abu Daud]

Remember, this too shall PASS:

A nugget of ancient wisdom that has served me well is the saying "This
too shall pass." Think aboutit. Everything comes and then it goes.
Problems develop and they disappear. One day we are on vacation, the
next we'reback to work. We get a cold or flu, and it goes away. . . .
. There is enormous freedom in remembering this wisdom. In fact, it
can be the fountain of a very peaceful life. It serves as an important
reminder that everything has a season, a time, and a place. It gives
us perspective during hard times, a frame of reference that nothing
lasts forever. It gives us hope and confidence that we will getthrough
this -- it will pass; it always does.
As we look back on our lives, it's easy to see that all things come
and go: winter, spring, summer, and fall; joy, sorrow, praise, and
blame; hardship, ease, rest, and exhaustion; accomplishments ,
mess-ups, and all the rest. Genuine freedom and happiness come when we
can see this dynamic, not only in retrospect but while we're going
through something difficult. This way, we can keep our perspective
right in the midst of the chaos. When you remember that all things
come and go, it allows you to keep your perspective, an open heart,
and even a sense of humor during all the phases of your life.
I encourage you to remind yourself of this bit of wisdom whenever you
feelannoyed, stressed, or bothered, as well as when you are going
through something terribly difficult.Life is very short. Our children
are little; they grow up. We are young; we grow old. We will get
through it all. The best and most effective way to maintain a grateful
spirit and keep yourself from being overwhelmed is to remember that
all things --even the hard things happen for a reason -- and it will
pass.

"...Bear with patience whatever befalls you...." (Qur'an 31:17) and
"Be not sad, surely Allah is with us."(Qur'an 9:40)
Our Prophet (pbuh) said:"Verily, if Allah loves a people, He makes
them go through trials. Whoever is satisfied, for him is contentment,
and whoeveris angry upon him is wrath." [Tirmidhi]
"Verily, with hardship thereis relief" (Qur'an 94:6)
