reply: "We have spoken on this issue long before, and we said that
Allaah the Wise has divided the Muslim community into two types of
people: the Ahl adh-Dhikr, and those that depend on the Ahl adh-Dhikr.
As Allaah says to the ordinary people: "then ask those who possess the
Message (Ahl adh-Dhikr) if you do not know." (Soorah 21:7 and 16:43)
The Ahl adh-Dhikr are, as we all know, are the Ahl al-Qur'aan and the
Ahl al-Hadeeth, those who know the authentic from the unauthentic, the
general from the specific, the abrogating from the abrogated, and
other such principles of Fiqh and Hadeeth.
Hence, it is not allowed for a Muslim to begin giving fatwaas on the
basis of some hadeeth, simply because he came across itin some book,
although he does not know if it is saheeh according to the criteria of
the scholars of hadeeth. On the otherhand, he knows that he is not
sufficiently well-versed in knowledge and competence in the Arabic
language to explain the meanings and ideas behind the Kitaab and
Sunnah. Therefore, anyone who has not decided to undertake acquiring
knowledge and persevere in it for many years, until the people of
knowledge testify that he can guide the people and direct themtowads
good, it is not permissible for him to think that he is an alim
(scholar) simply because he has read some ahadeeth and memorized some
aayaat. We often hear of some of them who cannot even read the Qur'aan
properly, nor the ahaadeeth of the Prophet (sallallahu `alaihi wa
sallam). This is why I advise the seekers of knowledge to study two
fundamentals: a) the principles offiqh and b) the principles of
hadeeth.
I have mentioned before that it isnot easy for one to deduce the
intended aim of the Lawgiver from any text unless he consults as far
as possible, all the texts of the Qur'an and Sunnah. I will givea
clear example: Allaah says: "Forbidden for you are dead meat, blood…"
(5:4). If a beginner who is studying the Qur'aan and has no knowledge
of hadeeth is asked regarding dead fish, he will immediately bring
this aayah as proof to clearly forbid it since it prohibits dead meat.
But were he to look into the ahaadeeth, he would know that the
Prophet, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam, excepted two types of animals,
fish and locusts, from this prohibition, so he couldrule accordingly.
Briefly, the student must learn these two fundamental branchesof
learning to help to understandthe Qur'aan and Sunnah as correctly as
possible."

Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Invite Allah’s Power and Wisdom Into Your Life
Allah's power and wisdom are limitless and beyond our comprehension.
But guess what? There is a key that brings Allah's infinite wisdom
into play in your life. That key is prayer. Salat and dua' are like a
special hotline that transcends the veils of space and time and goes
directly to Allah. Prayer is the means and the voice that Allah has
given us to speak to Him, ask His forgiveness, and request His
assistance and wisdom in any situation that we are dealing with. And
it works.
"And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I
am near. I respond to theinvocation of the supplicant when he calls
upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be
guided." Quran, Al-Baqarah 2:186
Miracles happen every day. Do you not believe that miracles can happen
in your life as well? Do you think that you are too insignificant for
that? SubhanAllah. Allah sees andknows every fallen leaf, every grain
in the darknessof the earth; and He knowsyour innermost thoughts. He
is closer to you than your jugular vein. (Quran 50:16)
Do you think that Allah's nearness to you is because He mistrusts you?
No! Allahhas nothing to fear from you, and therefore nothing to
mistrust. Allah is near to you because He loves you. He is near to you
because He cares about you and understands your pain. He is near to
you so that He can help you. You matter, as much as the ocean, the
trees and the stars. You areimportant to Allah, not as ageneral
concept, but you, as an individual person with your own private needs
and fears. You only have to turn to Him, and call upon Him; and His
wisdom, power and guidance will manifest in your life.
I personally went through a very difficult period whenI was younger.
At the time I felt that I had failed in life. I was beginning to
feelsome despair. But I kept my faith in Allah, and I prayed to Him in
the day and the dark of the night. I trusted Allah, and I knew that He
would not abandon me. And then the last person I would expect, an
acquaintance who I hardly knew and who had no reason to care about
meor my situation, suddenly took an interest and beganhelping me.
Within a short period of time I had a job, and was able to get my own
apartment, and my life had changed completely. It was literally a
miracle. Even now it blows my mind. Allah stepped into that
situation, and He made the impossible possible, because I believed in
Him and I prayed.
Miracles happen every day. Allah hears you. You matter.
"O You the Ever Living Whosustains all that exists! O You Who created
the heavens and the earth without precedence. O You,Who Owns the glory
and the honor, none has the right to be worshipped except You. We seek
refugewith Your mercy. Grant Us success in all of our matters. Please,
do not abandon us to rely on ourselves even for an instant nor on any
of Your creation." – (dua' mentioned in Tafsir ibn Kathir)

Tired of my husbandnot praying or reciting Qu’ran
I have two problems and Ineed the solution for them. I am married for
6 years now alhumdulillah, a muslim from India. My husband
alhumdulillah is avery nice man, he takes care of his family a lot.
We have 3 beautiful kids mashallah. But he doesnt pray 5 times and
doesn't know how to read Quran. He never read in arabic language. A
few days ago he told me he read it in English before marriage. I
seriously doubt that. I want him to learn arabic and read Quran and
become a good muslim. I tell him hadith and how important prayer is
for us but it doesnt have any effect on him. He just says hm,hm,hm....
that's it.
I need some supplication that I can recite to make him change.
Another thing is that I have a small group of ladies coming to my
homeand we have islamic discussion on various topics. I told them that
it's not haram to cut our hair(ladies). They ask why is it not allowed
to get eyebrows done? Whereas we can wax and remove our upper lip
hair. Becauseeveryone here in India says that women shouldn't cut hair
and should not wax.
Can we wax andcut our hair, or not? I need authentic proof.

We should ask for Dunya things, but not just for the sake of Dunya
itself and for Akhirah things. We should not ask for punishment to be
broughtforward in this world or for early death. We shouldnot curse
any particular human being or animal, abuse a Muslim for no reason,
abuse dead peoplewithout cause and religious excuse, or abuse fever or
the wind. We should not make Dua by saying we have been given rain by
this or that star or what Allah willed, and so and so willed. We
should not make Dua against family and property or for sinful acts and
severing the bonds.
In the end there can be reasons why the Dua might not be answered such
as not fulfilling conditions like some of the ones listed above or:
Divine Wisdom, trying to hurry the response of one's Dua, Dua for what
is sinful or the breaking off of relations, eating, drinking, or
dressing from what is Haram, not being resolute in making Dua,
abandoning the duty of enjoining what is good and shunning the evil,
the dominance of unmindfulness, lust and vain desires, not being
submissive during Salah, or committing particular sins (not divorcing
a vilewoman, giving a loan without a witness, and a man who gave his
wealth to the foolish).

* I converted but my husband didn’t; Is my marriage halal?
Q: I have converted to Islam for few months now whileI am married to
my non-muslim husband.
I read during my research prior to my conversion that my marriage will
become invalid. This madeit harder for me to convert, but
AlhamdulillahI passed that stage and said my shahada because Ibelieve
Islam is the true religion.
Now, I still pretty much married. By the way, he made it clear that
he will not convert but respects my belief.
Am I living a halal life withmy husband? Please explain why and what
should I do.

The opinion of almost all Muslim scholars is that if the wife converts
to Islam and the husband does not, they automatically enter 'iddah
(waiting period) for divorce. This 'iddah is 3 months or 3 menstrual
cycles. During that period, the couple are not allowedto have sexual
relations. At the end of the 'iddah, the couple are divorced.
There are other minority opinions, however.
The European Council for Fatwa & Research, including Sheikh Yusuf
al-Qaradawi, Sheikh 'Abdullah bin Bayyah, Sheikh 'Abdullah al-Judai
and others (from Sheikh 'Abdullah bin Bayyah, Sina'at al-Fatwa, pp.
356-7), says:
"If only the wife converts to Islam, the view of the Council is that:
a) if she converts before the marriage is consummated, she must leave
him immediately; b) if she converts after consummation and her husband
converts within 3months or within 3 of her monthly cycles, their
marriage continues in its validity; c) If he eventuallyconverts, their
marriage continues in its validity, without needing a new marriage
ceremony. d) If she wishes to leave her husband after the 3-month time

It is best to stick to the majority opinion and thereby protect your

engaging in sexual contact. If he refuses, however, then you must
consider the marriage ended. I realize this is difficult. But our goal

my non-muslim husband.

"If only the wife converts to Islam, the view of the Council is that:
a) if she converts before the marriage is consummated, she must leave
him immediately; b) if she converts after consummation and her husband
converts within 3months or within 3 of her monthly cycles, their
marriage continues in its validity; c) If he eventuallyconverts, their
marriage continues in its validity, without needing a new marriage
ceremony. d) If she wishes to leave her husband after the 3-month time
period, she should seek dissolution of her marriage from the relevant
authorities."

* Very stressed and suicidal over what is the right thing to do?
A 22 year old boy. I recently got into a relationship with this girl
that i really liked. Around 6 months ago. I wanted tomarry her and
even informed my sister about her and everything. My family knows the
girl sincethe two families are quite close. In the beginning it was
just normal conversation regarding how we would get married. But then
later wegot really close and attached emotionally. One day, she told
me that she got a marriage proposal and I said that it would bebest if
she forget about me then if her parents have found someone else. But
somehow, we could not let go of each other.
It was very heart breakingfor me to realise that she was going away.
One day when we met, I don't know how this happened but we got
physical and sexual. We are both still virgins though. We did notlose
our virginity. Alhamdulillah. But after that incident no matter what I
try to do, I can not make the guilt go away, no matter how much I
regret my actions. I still like the girl you know. In order to set
things straight, I even talked to my momabout her so that I can fix
what went wrong but by then it was too late since the two families got
into aterrible feud and are not on speaking terms. It was just all too
much for me totake and I had to be placed on anti depressantsand am
diagnosed with OCD and a few other disorders. I suspect I have
developed Scrupulosity.
Brothers and sisters, I'm soupset with myself. I honestly, truly,
wanted to marry her right from the first day we started talking about
it. That was my intention. I'm very upset with the way things turned
out and no matter how much I tried to fix it . Nothing worked. I spoke
to family also but still nothing. It's like I am not able to set right
my wrongs. I became depressed and suicidal andthere was a point when I
resorted to self harm.
Alhamdulillah, after that incident, we have never met each other in
solitude and neither have we got into any kind of sexual activity (
except holding hands once for a short while ) . And now she says, it
is not at all possible since her family will never agree to it. What
should I do brothers and sisters? I can't go back in time and undo
those few wretched days when we involved ourselves in sins and
shameless behaviour. I regret it all so much now. What do I do
brothers andsisters? In my attempts to fix all the wrongs , I have
ended up upsetting her also since she thinks that I'm doing it without
any consideration for her feelings. I do like her still. But she does
not want to marry me anymore. I evenconvinced my brother , sister and
mother. :( .
What do I do now brothers and sisters?? . How do I remove this
guilt???. How do I fix all that I broke. ??? What do Ido.??? I do not
want to leave her side still and if she wants to marry me even now I
will do whatever it takes to make it happen INSHAALLAH. Butshe says
she doesnt want it , since there is no hope.
After she said that, I thought the only other way to fix it would be
to stop thinking of her in that way and think of her as a muslimah
sister. Is that wrong brothers and sisters???Please help me . I'm all
alone in a new town and I feel suicidal now and then again. ( can

ADVISE :- ~ Bad Dreams and Broken Bangles
Q: I am a 17 year old girl and in the past few days I have been having
bad dreams about someone following me and wanting to attack me or my
family.
Also yesterday one of my sisters accidentally dropped her bangles.
And today I accidently dropped my bangles. Theybroke into pieces
because they were glass bangles.
I wanted to know in Islamwhat does it mean when you break glass bangles? -
~
A: As others have said, breaking the bangles means nothing. Or it
means you should buy better bangles. I bought my daughter a beautiful
copper bracelet. It wasn't too expensive, and it doesn't break.
I do want to say something about the dreams of being followed and
attacked. It may be that your intuition is warning you about
something. Is there anyone who might be stalking you?
I suggest that you take extra care until you are sure that no one
wishes toharm you. Try to have someone with you when you go out, and
make sureyour family always knows where you are./

A personal belonging used by the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) 2000 years ago has been found
A report recently published in the press announced that a cup dating
back to the time of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), that is 2000 years ago,
was found during the researches in Jerusalem and the surrounding area.
There is a strong likelihood that the cup, on which the words "Lord, I
have returned," were written, is a personal item that was used by the
Prophet Jesus (pbuh) 2000years ago. The words, written in a script in
use atthat time, shows that the cup is a personal belonging from the
Prophet Jesus' (pbuh) previous life:
"And on Jerusalem's MountZion, archaeologists recently discovered and
deciphered a two-thousand-year-old cup with the phrase "Lord,I have
returned" inscribedon its sides in a cryptic code similar to one
usedin some of the Dead Sea Scrolls ." (Ker Than, "Dead Sea Scrolls

As revealed by our Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace),
the Hijri 1400s are the time when, by the leave ofAllah, the Prophet
Jesus (pbuh) will return to earth. As it has been understood from the
hadiths of our Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) and
from the statements of Islamic scholars, he is already on earth and at
work now. Within the next 10-20 years, by the leave of Allah, all
mankind will overtly see his radiantface again.
At such a time, the finding of a personal item used bythe Prophet
Jesus (pbuh) 2000 years ago, is highly significant. Basing on the
hadiths and on the works of major Islamic scholars, Mr. Adnan Oktar,
had stated in his previous statement that on his return the Prophet
Jesus (pbuh) will be wearing theclothes he wore 2000 years ago and
will have various personal belongings with him:

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ The Major Sins
The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in
the Quran and by His Messenger (SAW) in the Sunnah (practise of the
Prophet), and which have been made clear by the actions of of the
first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet
(SAW).
Allah Most High says in His Glorious Book:
If you avoid the major (part) of what you have been forbidden (to do),
We will cancel out for you your (other) evil deeds and will admit you
(to Paradise) witha noble entry. (al-Nisa 4:31) Thus by this verse,
Allah Most Highhas guaranteed the Garden of Paradise to those who
avoid the major sins. And Allah Most High also says:
Those who avoid the greatest ofsins and indecencies, and forgivewhen
they are angry (al-Shra 42:37) Those who avoid the greatest sins and
indecencies, except for oversights, (will find that) surely your Lord
is ample inforgiveness. (Al-Najm 53:32) The Messenger of Allah (SAW)
said: "The five [daily] prayers, Friday to Friday, and Ramadan to
Ramadan make atonement for what has happenned since the previous one
when major sins have been avoided." It is thereforevery important to
determine exactly what the greatest vices, technically called "the
major sins" (Kaba'ir), are, in order that Muslims should avoid them.
There is some difference of opinion among scholars in this regard.
Some say these major sinsare seven, and in support of their position
they quote the tradition:"Avoid the seven noxious things"- and after
having said this, the propeht (SAW) mentioned them:"associating
anything with Allah; magic; killing one whom Allah hasdeclared
inviolate without a just case, consuming the property of an orphan,
devouring usury, turning back when the army advances, and slandering
chaste women who are believers but indiscreet." (Bukhari and Muslim)
'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas said:"Seventy is closer to their number than
seven," and indeed that is correct. The above tradition does not limit
the major sins to those mentioned in it. Rather, it points to the type
of sins which fall into the category of "major." These include those
crimes which call for a prescribed punishment (HADD; plural, HUDUD),
such as theft, fornication or adultery (ZINA), and murder; those
prohibited acts for which a warning of a severe punishment in the Next
is given in the Qur'an or the tradition; and also those deeds which
are cursed by our Prophet (SAW). These are all majorsins.
Of course, there is a gradation among them, since some are more
serious than others. We see that the Prophet (SAW) has included SHIRK
(associating someone or something with Allah) among them, and from the
text of the Qur'an we know that aperson who commits SHIRK will not his
sin be forgiven and will remain in Hell forever.

HISTORY - ~ CALLING UNTO ISLAM BEYOND MAKKAH
In Shawwal (in the last of May or in the beginning of June 619 A.D.),
ten years after receiving his mission from his Lord, the Prophet
(Peace be upon him) set out towards At-Ta'if, about 60 kilometres from
Makkah, in the company of his freed slave Zaid bin Haritha inviting
people to Islam. But contrary to his expectations, the general
atmosphere was terribly hostile. He approached the family of 'Umair,
who were reckoned amongst the nobility of the town. But, to his
disappointment, all of them turned deaf ear to his message and used
abusive language as regards the noble cause he had been striving for.
Three brothers from the chieftains of Thaqeef —'Abd Yaleel, Mas'ud and
Habeeb — sons of 'Amr bin 'Umair Ath-Thaqafy met the Prophet (Peace be
upon him) , who invited them to embrace Islam and worship Allâh, but
they impudently jeered at him and refused his invitation. "He is
tearing the cloths of Al-Ka'bah; is it true that Allâh has sent you as
a Messenger?" said one of them. "Has not Allâh found someone else to
entrust him with His Message?" said the second. "I swear by Allâh that
I will never have any contact with you. If you are really the
Messenger of Allâh, then you are too serious to retortback; and if you
are belying Allâh,then I feel it is imperative not to speak to." said
the third. The Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him) , finding that
they were hopeless cases, stood up and left them saying: "Should
youindulge in these practices of yours, never divulge them to me."
For ten days he stayed there delivering his message to several people,
one after another, but all to no purpose. Stirred up to hasten the
departure of the unwelcome visitor, the people hooted him through the
alley-ways, pelted him with stones andobliged him to flee from the
city pursued by a relentless rabble. Blood flowed down both his legs;
and Zaid, endeavouring to shield him, was wounded in the head. The mob
did not desist until they had chased him two orthree miles across the
sandy plains to the foot of the surrounding hills. There, weariedand
exhausted, he took refuge inone of the numerous orchards, and rested
against the wall of a vineyard. At a time when the whole world seemed
to have turned against him, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) turned to his
Lord and betook himself to prayer and the following touching words are
still preserved as those through which his oppressed soul gave vent to
its distress. He was wearyand wounded but confident of the help of his
Lord:
*. "O Allâh! To You alone I make complaint of my helplessness, the
paucity of my resources and my insignificance before mankind. You are
the most Merciful of the mercifuls. You are the Lord of the helpless
andthe weak, O Lord of mine! Into whose hands would You abandon me:
into the hands of an unsympathetic distant relative who would sullenly
frown at me, or to the enemy who has been given control over my
affairs? But if Your wrath does not fall on me, there is nothing for
me to worry about."
"I seek protection in the light ofYour Countenance, which illuminates
the heavens and dispels darkness, and which controls all affairs in
this world as well as in the Hereafter. May it never be that I should
incur Your wrath, or that You should be wrathful to me. And there is
no power nor resource, but Yours alone."
Seeing him in this helpless situation, Rabi'a's two sons, wealthy
Makkans, were moved on grounds of kinship and compassion, and sent to
him oneof their Christian servants with a tray of grapes. The Prophet
(Peace be upon him) accepted the fruit with pious invocation: "In the
Name of the Allâh." The Christian servant 'Addas was greatly impressed
by these words and said: "These are words which people in this land do
not generally use." The Prophet (Peace be upon him) inquired of him
whence he cameand what religion he professed. 'Addas replied: "I am a
Christian by faith and come from Nineveh."The Prophet (Peace be upon
him)then said: "You belong to the cityof the righteous Jonah, son of
Matta." 'Addas asked him anxiously if he knew anything about Jonah.
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) significantly remarked: "He is my
brother. He was a Prophet and so am I." Thereupon 'Addas paid homage
to Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and kissed his hands. His masters
admonished him at this act but he replied: "None on the earth is
better than he is. He has revealed to me a truth which onlya Prophet
can do." They again reprimanded him and said: "We forewarn you against
the consequences of abandoning thefaith of your forefathers. The
religion which you profess is far better than the one you feel
inclined to."

REBUILDING AL-KA'BAH AND THE ARBITRATION ISSUE:
When the Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him) was thirty five,
Quraish started rebuilding Al-Ka'bah. That was because it was a low
building of white stones no more than 6.30 metreshigh, from the days
of Ishmael. It was also roofless and that gave the thieves easy access
to its treasures inside. It was also exposed to the wearing factors of
nature — because it was built a long time ago — that weakened and
cracked its walls. Five years before Prophethood, there was a great
flood in Makkah that swept towards Al-Ka'bah and almost demolished it.
Quraish was obliged to rebuildit to safeguard its holiness and
position. The chiefs of Quraish decided to use only licit money
inrebuilding Al-Ka'bah, so all moneythat derived from harlotry, usury
or unjust practices was excluded. They were, at first, too awed to
knock down the wall, but Al-Waleed bin Al-Mugheerah Al-Mukhzumi
started the work. Seeing that no harm had happened to him, the others
participated in demolishing the walls until they reached the basislaid
by Abraham. When they started rebuilding its walls, they divided the
work among the tribes. Each tribe was responsiblefor rebuilding a part
of it. The tribes collected stones and startwork. The man who laid the
stones was a Roman mason called Baqum. The work went on in harmony
till the time came to put the sacred Black Stone in its proper place.
Then strife broke out among the chiefs, and lasted for four or five
days, each contesting for the honour of placing the stone in its
position. Daggers were on the point of being drawn and great bloodshed
seemed imminent. Luckily, the oldest among the chiefs Abu Omaiyah bin
Mugheerah Al-Makhzumi made a proposal which was accepted by all. He
said: "Let him, who enters the Sanctuary first of all, decide on the
point." It was then Allâh's Will that the Messenger of Allâh (Peace be
upon him) should be the first to enter the Mosque. On seeing him, all
the people on the scene, cried with one voice: " Al-Ameen (the
trustworthy) has come. We are content to abide byhis decision." Calm
and self-possessed, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) received
thecommission and at once resolvedupon an expedient which was
toconciliate them all. He asked for amantle which he spread on the
ground and placed the stone in its centre. He then asked the
representatives of the different clans among them, to lift the stone
all together. When it had reached the proper place, Muhammad (Peace be
upon him) laid it in the proper position withhis own hands. This is
how a very tense situation was eased and a grave danger averted by the
wisdom of the Prophet (Peace be upon him).
Quraish ran short of the licit money, they collected, so they
eliminated six yards area on the northern side of Al-Ka'bah which is
called Al-Hijr or Al-Hateem. Theyraised its door two metres from the
level ground to let in only the people whom they desired. Whenthe
structure was fifteen yards high they erected the roof which rested on
six columns.
When the building of Al-Ka'bah had finished, it assumed a square form
fifteen metres high. The side with the Black Stone and the one
opposite were ten metres long each. The Black Stone was 1.50 metre
from the circumambulation level ground. The two other sides were
twelve metres long each. The door was two metres high from the level
ground. A building structure of 0.25 metre high and 0.30 metre wide on
the average surroundedAl-Ka'bah. It was called Ash-Shadherwan,
originally an integral part of the Sacred Sanctuary, but Quraish left
it out.

HISTORY - ~ Location and Nature of Arab Tribes
Beyond a shadow of doubt, the biography of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be
upon him) manifestedly represents an exhaustive embodiment of the
sublime Divine Message that he communicated in order to deliverthe
human race from the swamp of darkness and polytheism to the paradise
of light and monotheism. An image, authenticas well as comprehensive,
of this Message is therefore only attainable through careful study and
profound analysis of both backgrounds and issues of such a biography.
In view of this, a whole chapter is here introducedabout the nature
and development of Arab tribes prior to Islam as well as the
circumstantial environment that enwrapped the Prophet's mission.
LOCATION OF THE ARABS:
Linguistically, the word "Arab" means deserts and waste barren land
well-nigh waterless and treeless. Ever since the dawn of history, the
Arabian Peninsula and its people have been called as such.
The Arabian Peninsula is enclosed in the west by the Red Sea and
Sinai, in the east by the Arabian Gulf, in the south by the Arabian
Sea, which is an extension of the Indian Ocean, and in the north by
old Syria and part of Iraq. The area is estimated between a million
and a million and a quarter square miles.
Thanks to its geographical position, the peninsula has always
maintained great importance.. Considering its internal setting, it is
mostly deserts and sandy places, which has rendered it inaccessible to
foreigners and invaders, and allowed its people complete liberty and
independence through the ages, despite the presence of two
neighbouring great empires.
Its external setting, on the other hand, caused it to be the centre of
the old world and provided it with sea and land links with most
nations at the time. Thanks to this strategic position the Arabian
Peninsula had become the centre for trade, culture, religion and art.
ARAB TRIBES:
Arab kinfolks have been divided according to lineage into three groups:
Perishing Arabs: The ancient Arabs, of whose history little is known,
and of whom were 'Ad, Thamûd, Tasam, Jadis, Emlaq, andothers.
Pure Arabs: Who originated fromthe progeny of Ya'rub bin Yashjub bin
Qahtan. They were also called Qahtanian Arabs.
Arabized Arabs: Who originated from the progeny of Ishmael. They were
also called 'Adnanian Arabs.
The pure Arabs – the people of Qahtan – originally lived in Yemen and
comprised many tribes, two of which were very famous:
1. Himyar: The most famous of whose septs were Zaid Al-Jamhur, Quda'a
and Sakasic.
2. Kahlan: The most famous of whose septs were Hamdan, Anmar, Tai',
Mudhhij, Kinda, Lakhm, Judham, Azd, Aws, Khazraj and the descendants
ofJafna — the kings of old Syria.
Kahlan septs emigrated from Yemen to dwell in the different parts of
the Arabian Peninsula prior to the Great Flood (Sail Al-'Arim of
Ma'rib Dam), due to the failure of trade under the Roman pressure and
domain on both sea and land trade routes following Roman occupation of
Egypt and Syria.
Naturally enough, the competition between Kahlan andHimyar led to the
evacuation of the first and the settlement of thesecond in Yemen.
THE EMIGRATING SEPTS OF KAHLAN CAN BE INTO FOUR GROUPS:
1. Azd: Who, under the leadershipof 'Imran bin 'Amr Muzaiqbâ',
wandered in Yemen, sent pioneers and finally headed northwards.
Details of their emigration can be summed up as follows:
2. Tha'labah bin 'Amr left his tribe Al-Azd for Hijaz and dwelt
between Tha'labiyah and Dhi Qar. When he gained strength, he headed
for Madinah where he stayed. Of his seed are Aws and Khazraj, sons of
Haritha binTha'labah.
Haritha bin 'Amr, known as Khuza'a, wandered with his folks in Hijaz
until they came to Mar Az-Zahran. Later, they conquered the Haram, and
settled in Makkah after having driven away its people, the tribe of
Jurhum.
'Imran bin 'Amr and his folks went to 'Oman where they established the
tribe of Azd whose children inhabited Tihama and were known as
Azd-of-Shanu'a.
Jafna bin 'Amr and his family, headed for Syria where he settled and
initiated the kingdom of Ghassan who was so named after a spring of
water, in Hijaz, where they stopped on their way to Syria.
3. Lakhm and Judham: Of whom was Nasr bin Rabi'a, father of Manadhira,
Kings of Heerah.
4. Banu Tai': Who also emigrated northwards to settle by the so-
called Aja and Salma Mountains which were consequently named as Tai'
Mountains.
5. Kinda: Who dwelt in Bahrain but were expelled to Hadramout and Najd
where they instituted a powerful government but not for long , for the
whole tribe soon faded away.
*. Another tribe of Himyar, knownas Quda'a, also left Yemen and dwelt
in Samawa semi-desert on the borders of Iraq

NEWS - ~ New 'massacre' reported in Syria's Hama province
At least 86 people, including many women and children, have been
killed by Syrian pro-government forces inHama province, opposition
activists say.
More than 20 children and 20 women were reportedlyamong those who died
in the villages of Qubair and Maarzaf, in what the activists called
a"massacre".
Syrian State TV said troops found some bodies after attacking "terrorists".
Neither account could be confirmed, but it comes less than two weeks
after 108 people were killed in Houla.
Witnesses on Wednesday blamed pro-government militiamen, while the
government of President Bashar al-Assad accused"armed groups" seeking
to trigger foreign military intervention.
'Heinous crime'
Activist groups reported that Qubair and Maarzaf, about 20km (12
miles) north-west of the city of Hama, had come under heavy
bombardment from security forces backed by tanks.
But they said much of the killing in Qubair was done by accompanying
groups of pro-government militiamen known as"shabiha", who had come
from nearby pro-government villages.
The activists said they shot at close range and stabbed many people,
including women and children underthe age of two, and that some of the
bodies were later burnt in houses whichwere set on fire. Others were
taken away by the shabiha, they added.
"They executed [nearly] every person in the village. Very few numbers
could flee. They majority were slaughtered with knives and in a
horrible and ugly way," one activist in Hama told the BBC's World
Tonight.
"[They] are failing to save the lives of the wounded because they are
very poorpeople - usually they are Bedouin who... have no kind of
healthcare," he added.

Kofi Annan's plan calls for aceasefire, followed by a dialogue between
the government and the opposition that would leadto a political
transition. Instead there's been an upsurge in violence, with the
regime accused of carrying out massacres, and the rebels stepping up
deadly attacks on soldiers.
There is unity in the Security Council behind the idea in Mr Annan's
plan, now it seems he'll be seeking unity of action.
Diplomats say he's expected to propose the creation of a contact group
made up of world and regional powers - some, such as Russia and Iran,
with influence on the government; others, such as Western and Arab
states,with influence on the opposition.
The idea would be to increase pressure on both, but especially the
regime, to end the violence and begin negotiations.
If this is what Mr Annan is planning to suggest, he's already been met
with objections from Britain andAmerica, who don't want Iran to
participate.
"The small number of villagers who fled were theonly people remaining
who could tell the world about this horrible massacre."
One of Qubair's residents, who told the BBC that the when the army and
militia left the village he had discovered about 40 bodies: most were
women and children who had beenstabbed to death.
Among the victims were four members of his family, the villager said.
He added that he saw a burned corpse of a three-month-old baby.
The Local Co-ordination Committees, an activist network, said 78
people had died in Qubair, including 35 members of one family.
Later on Wednesday, Syrian state TV quoted an official source as
saying that security forces, responding to appeals from citizens, had
launchedan attack on an "armed terrorist stronghold" in Qubair.
The security forces came across the bodies of two women and a number
of children, bound hand and foot, in the village, who thecoroner said
had been killed at 10:00, when the"armed terrorist groups" were still
in the village, theofficial added.
In a statement on state TV quoted by AFP news agency, the government
said that "a terrorist group has committed a heinous crime".
"The reports by the media are contributing to spilling the blood of
Syrians," the statement added.
The LCC said the Qubair killings had brought the total number of
people killed nationwide by security forces on Wednesday to 140.

But the news of the Houla massacre emerged in a similar way and the
details given by activists were later confirmed by UN ceasefire
observers on the ground, our correspondent adds.

The BBC's Jim Muir in Beirutsays there has been no independent
confirmation of these latest reports and no video has surfaced on the
internet to back them up.
But the news of the Houla massacre emerged in a similar way and the
details given by activists were later confirmed by UN ceasefire
observers on the ground, our correspondent adds.
Dua' by Hasan al-Basri - Salaam and Greetings of Peace:
"O Allah, I seek your forgiveness for every sin for which I presented
my repentance before You; and regarding which I stood before You
swearing an oath in Your name and called Your friends from among Your
servants to be my witnesses – that I would never return to
disobeyingYou.
But when Satan with his cunning tempted me to return to it; and Your
forsaking me [due to Your anger over my impiety] caused me to
[despairingly] waver toward it; and my lower self invited me to
disobey You once more; I hid myself in shame from Your servants, but
openly and daringly committed sins before You, though I knew full well
that no covering nor any closed door could conceal me from You and no
veil could hide me from Your sight.
I still defied You by disobediently doing what You had prohibited to
me;but [despite my iniquity], You did not remove Your covering from
me, but rather treated me equal toYour pious servants, as though I had
always been an obedient servant and swift to fulfill Your every
command and fearful of Your warnings.
I remained obscure in front of Your servants, andnone besides You knew
my secret. You did not single me out from Your servants with a mark of
disgrace, but instead showered upon me blessings like theirs; and with
this You distinguished me over them as though I were, in Your sight,
of a status like theirs. All this was owing only of Your forbearance
and abundant blessings – generous grace from You to me. For You then,
O my Lord, belongs all praise.
I ask from You, O Allah, just as You have covered my evil deeds in
this world, that You do not humiliate me with them on the Day of
Judgment. Forgive my sins, O Most Merciful of the merciful!"

There are 571 years between the Prophet Jesus (as) and the Prophet Muhammad (saas), Ulu al-'azm Prophets (the Resolute Messengers), and Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come some 400 years after Imam Rabbani
Some people think that the fact that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come some
400 years after Imam Rabbani will somehow diminish the worth of Imam
Rabbani and claim that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come 1000 years after
the imam. The fact is, however, that Hazrat Mahdi's (as) coming around
400 years after Imam Rabbani in no way diminishes his value. Allah
sent our Prophet (saas) just 571 years after the Prophet Jesus (as), a
Resolute Messenger. TheProphet Muhammad (saas) came soon after the
Prophet Jesus (as), with a new law and book. In other words, there are
571 years between the two Resolute Messengers. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will
come some 400 years after Imam Rabbani. Indeed, Imam Rabbani declared
as such himself, saying that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come 1000 years
after the death of our Prophet (saas):
The end of this Ummah will begin WITH THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND
THOUSAND. IN OTHER WORDS, AFTER THE DEATH OF RASULULLAH... The full
implementation of the moral values of the Qur'anand the renewal of the
Islamic world IS IN THIS SECOND THOUSAND. THE JUST WITNESSES OF THE
TRUTHFULNESS OF THIS CASE ARE THE EXISTENCE OF JESUS (AS) AND THE
MAHDI (AS) IN THIS MILLENNIUM (IN OTHER WORDS, IN THE THOUSAND YEARS
FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF OUR PROPHET (SAAS)). (Imam Rabbani, Letters of
Rabbani, p. 261)
Here, Imam Rabbani is clearly and explicitly speaking of NOT AFTER
HISOWN DEATH, BUT AFTER THAT OF OUR PROPHET (SAAS).

NEWS - ~ Eyes turn skyward as Venus travels across sun
Venus (black spoton the left) transits across the face of the sun, as
seen in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The next transit of Venus is
likely to be seen after another 105 years. Photo: K.R. Deepak

From the U.S. to South Korea, people around the world turned their
attention to the daytime sky on Tuesday and early Wednesday in Asia to
make sure they caught the once-in-a-lifetime sight of the transit of
Venus.
For some astronomers, it wasn't just a rare planetaryspectacle as it
won't be seen for another 105 years. They hoped the passage of Venus
between the Earth and the sun would spark curiosity about the universe
and our place in it.
Sul Ah Chim, a researcher atthe Korea Astronomy and Space Science
Institute in South Korea, said he hopedpeople see life from a larger
perspective, and "not get caught up in their small, everyday
problems."
"When you think about it from the context of the universe, 105 years
is a very short period of time and the Earth is only a small, pale
blue spot," he said.
While astronomers used the latest technology to document the transit,
American astronaut Don Pettit aboard the International Space
Stationwas planning to take photos of the event and post them online.
In Mexico, at least 100 people lined up two hours early to view the
event through telescopes or one of the 150 special viewing glasses on
hand, officials said. Observation points were also set up at a
dozenlocations.
Venus, which is extremely hot, is one of Earth's two neighbours and is
so close in size to our planet that scientists at times call them
near-twins. During the transit, it will appear asa small dot.
The transit is happening during a 6-hour, 40-minutespan that began
just after 2200 GMT. What you can see and for how long depends on what
the sun's doing in your region during that exact window, and the
weather.
Those in most areas of North and Central America will see the start of
the transit until the sun sets, while those in western Asia, the
eastern half of Africa and most of Europe will catch the transit's end
once the sun comes up.
In Hawaii, astronomers planned viewings at Waikiki Beach, Pearl
Harborand Ko Olina. At Waikiki, officials planned to show webcasts as
seen from telescopes from volcanoes Mauna Kea on the Big Island and
Haleakala on Maui.
NASA planned a watch party at its Goddard Visitor Centre in Maryland
with solar telescopes, "Hubble-quality" images from its Solar Dynamics
Observatory Mission and expert commentary and presentations.
Experts from Hong Kong's Space Museum and local astronomical groups
were organising a viewing on Wednesday outside the museum's building
on the Kowloon waterfront overlooking the southern Chinese city's
famed Victoria Harbour.
This will be the seventh transit visible since Germanastronomer
Johannes Kepler first predicted the phenomenon in the 17th century.
Because of the shape and speed of Venus' orbit around the sun and its
relationship to Earth's annual trip, transits occur in pairs separated
by more than a century.
It's nowhere near as dramatic and awe-inspiring as a total solar
eclipse, which sweepsa shadow across the Earth, but there will be six
more of those this decade.

HISTORY - ~ Nabi' s.a.w's MARRIAGE TO SAWDA IN SHAWWAL, THE TENTH YEAR OF PROPHETHOOD :
The death of Khadijah left the Prophet (Peace be upon him) lonely. The

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ RELIGIONS OF THE ARABS, When Nabi' s.a.w. Comes:
Most of the Arabs had complied with the call of Ishmael (Peace beupon
him) , and professed the religion of his father Abraham (Peace be upon
him) They had worshipped Allâh, professed His Oneness and followed His
religion a long time until they forgot part of what they had been
reminded of. However, theystill maintained such fundamental beliefs
such as monotheism as well as various other aspects of Abraham's
religion, until the time when a chief of Khuza'a, namely 'Amr bin
Luhai, who was renowned for righteousness, charity, reverence and care
for religion, and was granted unreserved love and obedience by his
tribesmen, came back from a trip to Syria where he saw people worship
idols, a phenomenon he approved of and believed it to berighteous
since Syria was the locus of Messengers and Scriptures, he brought
with him an idol (Hubal) which he placed in the middle of Al-Ka'bah
and summoned people to worship it. Readily enough, paganism spread all
over Makkah and, thence, to Hijaz, people of Makkah being custodians
of not only the Sacred House but the whole Haram as well. A great many
idols, bearing different names, were introduced into the area.
An idol called 'Manat', for instance, was worshipped in a place known
as Al-Mushallal near Qadid on the Red Sea. Another, 'Al-Lat' in Ta'if,
a third, 'Al-'Uzza' inthe valley of Nakhlah, and so on and so forth.
Polytheism prevailed and the number of idols increased everywhere in
Hijaz. It was even mentioned that'Amr bin Luhai, with the help of
ajinn companion who told him that the idols of Noah's folk – Wadd,
Suwa', Yaguth, Ya'uk and Nasr – were buried in Jeddah, dug them out
and took them to Tihama. Upon pilgrimage time, the idols were
distributed amongthe tribes to take back home. Every tribe, and house,
had their own idols, and the Sacred House was also overcrowded with
them. On the Prophet's conquest of Makkah, 360 idols were found around
Al-Ka'bah. He broke them down and had them removed and burned up.

idols, a phenomenon he approved of and believed it to berighteous
since Syria was the locus of Messengers and Scriptures, he brought
with him an idol (Hubal) which he placed in the middle of Al-Ka'bah
and summoned people to worship it. Readily enough, paganism spread all
over Makkah and, thence, to Hijaz, people of Makkah being custodians
of not only the Sacred House but the whole Haram as well. A great many
idols, bearing different names, were introduced into the area.
