*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

For children, - Importance of Salah in Islam: Sayings on Salah (Salat, Namaz)

ShareShare

Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said: "Almighty Allah (SWT) has set the light of my eyes in Salah (Salat, Namaz) and made it the most desirable thing for me, like the food for the hungry and the water for the thirsty. The hungry is contented after the meal and the thirsty is satisfied after drinking water. But my thirst for Salah (Salat, Namaz) is never quenched."
Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said: "Everything has a face and the face of your religion is Salah (Salat, Namaz); none of you should stain the face of his religion."
Commander of the Believers Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (pbuh)said: "Almighty Allah (SWT) has ordained the obligation of faith for purification from polytheism and the obligation of Salah (Salat, Namaz) for refraining from pride and arrogance."
Imam Jafar Sadiq (pbuh)said: "The superiority of Salah (Salat, Namaz) performed in the earliest moments over the one offered in the last moments of its specified time is the same as the superiority of the Hereafter over this world."
Imam Jafar Sadiq (pbuh) said: "It is quite possible that a person lives for fifty years and not even a single prayer of his is accepted. Is there anything harder and more painful than this? There are some people ... whose prayers ... will not be accepted ... because they belittle Salah (Salat, Namaz), while nothing but good is admitted to Almighty Allah (SWT). How can Almighty Allah (SWT) accept that which is considered to be of little worth?"
Imam Ali bin Moosa Al Ridha (pbuh)said: "When it is time for Salah (Salat, Namaz), perform your prayers; you never know what will happen afterwards ... Nothing is dearer to Almighty Allah than Salah (Salat, Namaz). Worldly affairs must not detract you from the prayer timings. Do not delay your prayers (from the prescribed timings) for no reason. Always perform your Salah (Salat, Namaz) on its best time."
Imam Ali bin Moosa Al Ridha (pbuh) said: "When you are praying, avoid being drowsy, slumberous, playing and hastening. Pray with solemnity, gravity and soberness. It is up to you to remain attentive, humble and submissive in Almighty Allah's presence. Stand in front of your Lord as a slave appears before his master. Keep your feet in order and your stature firm. Do not look here and there. Be as if you could see Him; for, if you do not see Him, He sees you."

Fathwa, - Distressed over poor parental relations

Question
I would like to start off by saying how wonderful it is to have a site like this to turn to in times of distress. May Allaah bestow his blessing upon whom has created it.
I am 25-years and have recently become well acquainted with my religion. I love it. Who could ever deny such purity? However, for years I have been living in the depths of a broken home due to alcohol and neglect by my father. My mother has been abused verbally and physically left to right and so has my brother and I. We grew up seeing nothing but fighting, the police and having to bail my father out of jail )Islam has never been a real factor in our lives(. Ever since I could remember it's been this way. In the past I have broken down weeping asking my father "where have we gone wrong, can we please fix this so we can live happily. My fathers always brakes down in front of me vowing to change his life around. Recently I approached him differently, this time armed with some Islamic books I had been reading quoting some verses from the Qur'aan. He yet again broke down in tears vowing to change. This Ramadhaan he swore he would fast and keep his covenant to Allaah. I should have known it would be an empty promise like all the rest. My father is neglectful to his wife and children. He is a liar, a coward and a trader. I pray that Allaah would change him from the ignorant person that he is to a humble, understanding person. But I have come to read that the ones Allaah chooses to guide cannot be misguided and the ones he misguides cannot be guided and I am content with that. But, he is my father and I love him and I am so hurt for him and I know that it is so wrong to speak ill about my father in this way, it is against Islam. "Cherish thy mother and thy father" it says, but how can I cherish him if cares nothing for me? I have started my quest to find who I am. I know now that I am a Muslim. And no matter what, I have to keep my composure which I tent to lose easily when fights brake out, only because I am so tired of the same issue rotating year after year. It seems so played out. My mother wants to leave him. I asked her why she stayed all these years, she replied "because of you and your brother". My brother and I are now old enough to see what's been happening and we are disgusted by it. I mean I don't want to be married and living with my husband and then hearing that there has been a disaster between the two, having to drop everything in my life like I always had in the past. They are 50 and 47 years old. They fight like children using the worse language. It's just not right. I am fed up! I pray and ask Allaah to guide me in what to say. And it seems as though my words are getting to be much wiser and more profound but his heart remains still and untouched. He brings me down to my last nerves testing my tolerance with his taunting ways questioning my faith in Islam. He brings his friends over and parties in the backyard and in the house with beer and music, disrespecting any one who performs Salat in this house. How do I pray in a home where there is alcohol and filthy magazines and DVD's? My mother and I make a fuse but our arguments remain babble to him. Yet, when he sees me practising Islam he thinks he is so knowledgeable about the matter and tries to teach me a thing or two. Ya-Allaah! Won't somebody help me? I feel trapped, I feel like running away, and many times I could have but only one thing keeps me, my loving mother who has fulfilled her Deen as a mother and as a wife. I know Allaah says to have patience and Perseverance but this is just unbearable. My worse fear has eventually come true, my brother is turning into him. My brother drinks everyday to sleep and has turned into someone I don't even know anymore. My mother is always in distress and i am always crying for her. I feel so alone. When ever my mother would but up a fuse about these issues my father would empty bank accounts a take off with all the funds, leaving us high and dry. I am tired of all of this. This is just but the tip of the iceberg. I wish I could continue, but it would take days to tell it all. Please tell me what to do. I feel like there is no hope. Allaah has given us everything, a big house to live in, comfortable beds to sleep in, food and clothing, jobs, money so that we could buy whatever we desire. What else could we need? Can he not see? Even the money he uses to buy his beer. Everything is from Allaah. Can he not see? Surely there are signs for those who are wise.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammadis His slave and Messenger.
You have to know that this life is a test for us, but a Muslim should be patient about the problems that he encounters as this is the best remedy. Among the things that will help you to be patient is to remember the good outcome of patience. The Prophetsaid: "The case of a believer is wonderful; there is good for him in everything and every affair of his, and this characteristic is exclusively for a Muslim. If he comes across something pleasant, he is grateful to Allaah and that is good for him, and if he experiences some troubles and adversity, he is patient and submissive, that is also good for him."]Muslim[ Therefore, we advise you to be patient and continue to advise your father and use all permissible means in order to turn him into a righteous man. First and foremost you have to seek the Help of Allaah then the help of whomever you think could influence him especially the righteous people. If he repents, then all perfect praise be to Allaah, otherwise his sons and daughters have still to be kind to him. It is also incumbent on your mother to obey him in what is permissible. The fact that he is committing those sins is not an excuse to be undutiful to him, and you have to be polite in the way you talk about him.
It is permissible, however, for your mother to ask for a divorce if he insists on committing those sins that you have mentioned but she has to balance between the benefit of staying with him and benefit of divorcing him, as divorce could lead to a greater harm like the breaking up of the family and the like.
We advise you not to take into consideration the thoughts that come to your mind like running away from home or being unwilling to get married as this is of a greater danger for you. It could be that getting married is one of the best ways to get away from these problems.
Finally, we would like to draw your attention to two matters:
Firstly, the existence of alcohol or other prohibitions in the house does not affect the validity of your acts of worship. It is more appropriate, however, to perform your prayer in a room that is free from these prohibitions.
Secondly, it is an obligation on you and your mother to wear the Hijaab in front of the friends of your father who are marriageable men to you.
Allaah knows best.

Fathwa, - How to deal with one's mother

Question
I currently live in theUnited Statesand I m a Arab American Muslim who is devoted totally to Islam spiritually and politically. I am the few who desires the political and “struggles” that the Muslims face today. My anger fuels off the occupation and torture of Muslims around the world especially the mistreatment of Muslim women. With today’s current issues of Americas so called “war on terror” and the confusion events in the Middle East, there is a big gap within my family that has distinguish "who supports what and who". My brother who in the high ranks in theU.S.military and who proudly and knowingly continues to participate in the war against Islam has made me to cause separation amongst the family. I have a cousin on my mother’s side of the family who has proudly participated in theIraqwar, but he is not Muslim. With the two actively in the military the family supports their causes. As a young college student I have my views and I try actively in spreading the concept of Muslims needing protection and the need for security in this Ummah. I fight and defend not only for Muslims rights throughout the whole would but anyone who is being oppressed or who is weak. And as for this, I'm rejected from the family and tag as a "terrorist". But my worry is my mother who has openly chosen to side with my brother and my cousin only because of ignorance and afraid of being disowned and left out by her side family. Plus also her pride in being a American. I also have an older sister who openly converted to Christianity and has married to a Christian man with the help of my mother's sister )the gay between my sister and brother is 19 years(. As for my father, I have successfully changed his view about Islam and the way it should be and Al-Hamdu Lillaah, he is my closes companion. I always gave Da'wa to my brother and especially to my mother. But none seem to accept the principles of Islam. They are the types who are only Muslims during the two Muslims holidays and the rest of the days it seems as if they are Christians. The weird thing is that they know Islam but they just don’t want to adopt it. Currently my father and I don’t speak to my brother and as for my mother, I only make some effort in talking to her but I don’t disregard her, only because she is my mother. As for my father and mother, they are separated. My question is with this situation as a Muslim how should I approach my mother and my brother?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammadis His slave and Messenger.
Dear brother, We supplicate Allaah to pour His blessings upon you, us and all Muslims and make us steadfast on His true religion. We advise you to be in the company of religious scholars to get more knowledge and to increase your adherence to Islam.
Parents have great rights on their children, especially the mother. So, you have to be obedient and compliant with them asking Allaah to show you the right path and bless you to follow it. Allaah knows best.

Fathwa, - Her husband prevents her from seeing her non-practicing family

ShareShare

Question
Salam Alaykom. My husband is preventing me from seeing my family. The reason why is because my dad and others do not pray but alhamdouillah they fast. Also the reason he is preventing me from seeing them is because no ladies wears the hijab- I am the only one that wears hijab alhamdouillah and they don't wear decent clothes; sometimes they wear shorts and other short clothes. My dad invited us for the 1st day of Ramadan to eat there and my husband refused. Also some of the food is not always halal, sometimes they buy the meat from american store. Also, I am trying to tell my dad about praying but he is still not praying. I miss my dad very much. And I only want to go there to see my dad so he doesn't get mad. I am not going there to be like them. Please advise as I really want to see my father- I really miss him. My husband doesn't want me to invite them for iftar because of the clothes they wear. Jazakallah Khayran.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammadis His slave and Messenger.
We have already clarified in Fatwa 82969that the husband has the right to prevent his wife from seeing her parents and relatives if he has a sound religious reason for that, such as fearing that they will corrupt her. In this case she would be obliged to obey him.
Therefore, you are obliged to obey your husband and you may keep ties with your family by calling them on the telephone and the like.
However, if you think that your visit may have some positive effects and influence on them, then you may suggest that your husband accompanies you when you visit them.
May Allaah make you a cause for their guidance.
Allaah Knows best.

Darwinism, - The invalidity of the claim that ''the fossils known as transitional forms have been retracted because better ones have been found''

ShareShare

Darwinists admit that the fossils portrayed supposed transitional forms are eventually taken back and removed from the literature, but they justify this by claiming that “a better one has been found.” The fossils brought to public view to great Darwinist fanfare in the last few years in particular show how comic this evolutionist claim really is .
- The evolution deception involves a process that has constantly been repeated in its 150-year history. First, a fossil is produced. An amazing scenario is dreamed up on the basis of that fossil, which is then claimed to be the ancestor of man. This is all set out with much decorative scientific terminology and illustrations in the Darwinist press. Finally, it transpires that the fossil actually comes from an orangutan or a pig, at which IT IS HASTILY REMOVED FROM THE MUSEUM THAT HAS BEEN EXHIBITING IT.
- Piltdown Man, made by adding an orangutan jaw to a human skull, and Nebraska Man, depicted living in wild surroundings together with his family on the basis of a single pig tooth, are the best known examples of this. Darwinists have had to retract all their countless such claims regarding fictitious ancestors. A huge number of supposed “ancestors” have had to be removed from the scientific literature.
- ALL OF THE SKULLS so far acclaimed as ancestors of man by Darwinists have transpired to belong wither to an extinct type of orangutan or else to a human race. The reason why none of the fossils in question can be brought up any more is that they have all turned out to be invalid.
- Unable to bear this major defeat, Darwinists claim that the fossils in question have been removed from the literature because “a better one has been found.” But these fossils they describe as “better” are made up of such infamous examples of fraud as Ida, Ardi and Australopithecus sediba that have also been retracted soon after.
- Ida, a lemur fossil heralded as the ancestor of man, was a fraud on the same sort of scale as Piltdown Man. All the fuss made about Ida, which even embarrassed some Darwinists, quickly turned into a profound silence and Darwinist publications soon had to admit that the fossil was nothing more than a lemur. Darwinists had no qualms about admitting the embarrassment they felt at all the fuss over Ida in their own Darwinist scientific journals. (You can find more detailed information on the subject from here .)
- Ardi, the next to be brought up, was also subjected to Darwinist speculation and an obvious monkey fossil was made to walk upright using computer software. Following that latest embarrassment, Darwinists again had to retract their claims. (See here for more detail)
- Darwinists next produced a little finger fossil and shamelessly used this in reconstructions of a “third species.” This strange-looking human figure, illustrated in full, appeared under captions suggesting it would “rewrite the history of man,” just as in the case of Nebraska Man, the product of a single tooth. The only evidence, however, is a little finger fossil belonging to a human race. (See here for more detail)
- The Australopithecus sediba deception , the latest in the line, will go down in history as one of the worst embarrassments for Darwinists. This fraud, that even the eminent evolutionist Carl Zimmer greeted with suspicion, saying, “Not another Ida?” against inflicted terrible humiliation on Darwinists. (See here for more detail)
- That is the humiliating picture painted by Darwinists in recent years. It is clear therefore, just how invalid the claim that “the others have been removed because better transitional forms have been found” really is.
- Darwinists are in a hopeless position. They are in a defeatist state of mind because no transitional forms have been found. So they engage in demagoguery and make illogical claims in order to avoid the truth revealed by science that is so troubling to them. But that demagoguery has now become too ludicrous to deceive anyone any more. Even world-renowned Darwinists are ashamed of it.
- The fact that Darwinists now have to accept – and that the whole world already knows – is that not a single transitional fossil exists. So long as they refuse to admit that, they will have to keep making nonsensical claims to keep their ideology propped up and will keep on being humiliated.

Darwinism, - The invalidity of the claim that ''transitional forms do not mean deformed living things''

ShareShare
After the fact that 99% of mutations are harmful, one of the most difficult and problematic subjects for Darwinists is the total absence of the fictitious fossils known as transitional forms.
Darwinists have sought to explain the absence of transitional forms in other ways, in order to neutralize this fact that is so embarrassing for them, and say instead that “transitional fossils are different to what you imagine.”
First and foremost, this needs to be made crystal clear: the concept of the “transitional form” is one produced by Darwinists themselves. It was Darwinists who came up with the idea that countless transitional forms must have resulted from unsuccessful mutations between two life forms, and that the majority of these fictitious life forms would have been eliminated while only a very few survived. According to this tale, there must have been a time when a fish would supposedly grow feet or when reptiles’ arms would be wings. But this mythical period DOES NOT EXIST in the fossil record.
There is therefore no question of “a concept that we think of as transitional forms.” All descriptions of the entities referred to as transitional forms come from Darwinists. For years, paleontologists have sought but failed to find the transitional form described by Darwin himself. According to that description, transitional forms are DEFORMED AND MONSTROUS living things. It is impossible, according to that description, for them to be anything else.
Were the theory of evolution true, there is no doubt that traces of these fictitious intermediate periods should be found in the fossil record. Fish spending millions of years as its fins supposedly turned into legs, as evolutionists maintain, should exist in this alleged “intermediate state” in the fossil record.
And that is not all. Bearing that 99% of mutations are harmful, there should also be many more examples of all the failed stages pertinent to a life form. There should be millions or even billions of odd-looking life forms that emerged as a result of failed mutations everywhere on Earth.
Bearing in mind that mutations are blind and random processes and are inevitably harmful, then, no matter how unwilling Darwinists may be to admit the fact, all these supposedly successful or supposedly unsuccessful transitional forms would all have been deformed and twisted, with legs coming out of ears, half-fins and half-legs, with three ears instead of two...
Yet not one such deformed living things, nor any transitional form of the kind imagined by evolutionists, has ever been found among the more than 300 million fossils that have so far been unearthed. Indeed, what troubles Darwinists most is that all fossils are completely regularly, symmetrical and fully formed; in other words, that FOSSILS REFUTE EVOLUTION.
As readers will recall, Darwin’s greatest worry was that transitional forms would not be “IN A STATE OF CONFUSION” and that everything in nature HAS A PERFECT REGULARITY AND SYMMETRY:
HY, if species have descended from other species by insensibly fine gradations, DO WE NOT EVERYWHERE SEE INNUMERABLE TRANSITIONAL FORMS? WHY IS NOT ALL NATURE IN CONFUSION INSTEAD OF THE SPECIES BEING, AS WE SEE THEM, WELL DEFINED? . . 1
MUTATIONS DO NOT PRODUCE SYMMETRY.. THEY KNOW NOTHING OF HARMONY, ORDER OR THE GOLDEN MEAN. THEY DO NOT CALCULATE WHAT WILL BENEFIT A LIVING THING. Mutations are unconscious processes. They cannot lead to two symmetrical eyes and ears, symmetrical heart valves or two legs of the same length.
That is why one Turkish Darwinist, well aware of this fact and that transitional fossils do not exist, despairingly DESCRIBED HIMSELF AS A TRANSITIONAL FORM on a television program.
This is really a desperate state of affairs for Darwinists. Darwinists have no hesitations over rejecting the scientific facts and humiliating themselves for the sake of their ideology.
People need to be reminded that demagoguery no longer has any effect on people, since it has become a laughing stock. Darwin’s nightmare has come true, the fossil record refutes evolution.

ShareShare

Darwinism, - -The invalidity of claims regarding ''deep impact''

ShareShare

-Having suffered a huge rout on the subject of the beginning of life, Darwinists sought refuge behind the idea of “outer space” when they realized they could not account for it in terms of this Earth. Deep impact is the false scientific name given to the myth that “life came from space” espoused by Richard Dawkins.
Darwinists placed their hopes in outer space out of total despair. They believed that all the questions about their theories of the origin of life would thus be solved. But the essential problem still remains in this new theory they have invented. HOW DID THE FIRST MOLECULE assumed to have formed and replicated itself in space EMERGE? That question is still unanswered.
Factors such as the complexity of proteins, the fact they are extraordinary structures that could never come into being spontaneously, the fact that the atmospheric conditions in which Darwinists claim that life on Earth emerged are invalid and the presence of large quantities of oxygen in that atmosphere have extinguished all such hopes on the part of Darwinists who believed they could account for the beginning of life in some way.
For that reason, Darwinists who place their hopes in creatures from space have to accept that in one sense they have no explanation to offer.
Depicting this as a logical theory is a really pitiful state of affairs for Darwinists to be in. In espousing the theory in question, Richard Dawkins, who is equally despairing, has been forced to accept the possibility that life WAS CREATED BY A SUPERIOR INTELLIGENCE somewhere in space. (You can find further detail on the subject here )
The idea of outer space is proof of the end of Darwinism. Darwinism has clearly reached the end of the road with that claim. Because it is an admission of despair. The lack of any explanation for the beginning of life has demolished Darwinism. In talking about chance and outer space, Darwinists appear to have run out of nonsensical and humiliating options.
Darwinists are of course aware of the illogicality of these claims. Of course they are aware what an illogical claim they are espousing and how embarrassing this is for them. But they are willing to be humiliated for the sake of their ideology. Because to admit that life was created by a consciousness would mean to admit the existence of Allah. And that is the truth they really cannot accept, that they oppose with all these ludicrous claims.
The fact is, however, that it is a great blessing to see the existence of Almighty Allah by examining the scientific evidence. Every marvel of Creation and miracle in nature imparts it own unique delight. By Allah’s leave, this century will be one of science and faith, when all these ludicrous claims come to an end, when the glory of Allah is praised, when there is splendid progress in science and when the evidence of the fact of Creation is seen in a most glorious way.

Personal, - Eating disorders in youngwomen

ShareShare
is experiencing a serious problem in her life. In the last 6 months, she has lost 40 pounds, going from a healthy 133 pounds to only 93 pounds. Although she appears emaciated, Mary still perceives herself as being overweight and in need of weight loss. She eats very little food, mainly carrot sticks and diet soda, and is fearful that if she does eat she will gain weight. The obvious danger of Mary's condition it that it is life-threatening. She is basically starving herself to death. Her friends and family have tried to convince her to eat and take care of herself, but to no avail. Not surprisingly, she does not think that she has a problem nor does she wish to speak to anyone about it.
What may come as a surprise is the fact Mary is Muslim and was raised in a Muslim home. She is one of the many in a growing phenomena in the Muslim community. What was once a condition mainly for non-Muslim has slowly crept into the Muslim Ummah )nation(. Eating Disorders, mainly Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, are affecting young Muslim women, and in some rare cases, Muslim men as well. Let us take a closer look.
Eating disorders, primarily anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, have reached epidemic proportions in the West as the perception of beauty has moved toward an ideal that engenders body dissatisfaction and perpetual food restriction. Between 5 to 10 million women and up to 1 million boys and men in the United States are fighting a life and death battle with an eating disorder. The disease is also spreading into various communities and cultures of the world. Once thought of as a "culture-bound" syndrome, eating disorders are now appearing in such diverse countries as Pakistan, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, and Czechoslovakia. As already mentioned, Muslim women have not been immune to this proliferating illness.
What are eating disorders?
The two main eating disorders are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Anorexia nervosa is a serious, potentially life-threatening disorder characterized by self-starvation and excessive weight loss. Anorexia has one of the highest mortality rates of any mental illness. Many of these deaths are not attributed directly to an eating disorder itself, rather to an eating disorder complication such as esophageal rupture, heart failure, stroke, or suicide. Bulimia Nervosa is also a serious and potentially life-threatening, and is characterized by a secretive cycle of binging and purging. The recurrent binge-and-purge cycles can impact the entire digestive system and can lead to electrolyte and chemical imbalances in the body that affect the heart and other major organs.
Anorexia nervosa: the relentless pursuit of thinness
-Person refuses to maintain normal body weight for age and height.
-Weighs 85% or less than what is expected for age and height.
-In women, menstrual periods stop. In men levels of sex hormones fall.
-Young girls do not begin to menstruate at the appropriate age.
-Is terrified of gaining weight even though she/he is markedly under-weight.
-In addition, anorexia nervosa often includes depression, irritability, withdrawal, and peculiar behaviors such as compulsive rituals, strange eating habits, and division of foods into "good/safe" and "bad/ dangerous" categories.
Bulimia nervosa: the diet-binge-purge disorder
-Eats large quantities of food in short periods of time, often secretly, without regard to feelings of "hunger" or "fullness."
-Feels out of control while eating.
-Vomits, misuses laxatives, exercises, or fasts to get rid of the calories.
-Diets when not bingeing. Becomes hungry and binges again.
-Believes self-worth requires being thin.
-Weight may be normal or near normal unless anorexia is also present.
-Like anorexia, bulimia can be life-threatening.
-Even though bulimics put up a brave front, they are often depressed, lonely, anxious, and empty inside.
Warning signs of Anorexia Nervosa
-Dramatic weight loss.
-Preoccupation with weight, food, calories, fat grams, and dieting.
-Refusal to eat certain foods, progressing to restrictions against whole categories of food )i.e., no carbohydrates, etc.(.
-Frequent comments about feeling “fat” or overweight despite weight loss.
-Development of food rituals )i.e., eating foods in certain orders, excessive chewing, rearranging food on a plate(.
-Consistent excuses to avoid mealtimes or situations involving food.
-Excessive, rigid exercise regimen—despite weather, fatigue, illness, or injury, the need to “burn off” calories taken in.
-Withdrawal from usual friends and activities.
-In general, behaviors and attitudes indicating that weight loss, dieting, and control of food are becoming primary concerns.
Warning signs of Bulimia Nervosa
-Evidence of binge-eating, including disappearance of large amounts of food in short periods of time or the existence of wrappers and containers indicating the consumption of large amounts of food.
-Evidence of purging behaviors, including frequent trips to the bathroom after meals, signs and/or smells of vomiting, presence of wrappers or packages of laxatives or diuretics.
-Excessive, rigid exercise regimen—despite weather, fatigue, illness, or injury, the need to "burn off” calories taken in.
-Unusual swelling of the cheeks or jaw area.
-Discoloration or staining of the teeth.
-Creation of complex lifestyle schedules or rituals to make time for binge-and-purge sessions.
-Withdrawal from usual friends and activities.
-In general, behaviors and attitudes indicating that weight loss, dieting, and control of food are becoming primary concerns.
What are the causes?
Anyone can develop an eating disorder regardless of age, race, gender or
background. However, young women are most vulnerable, particularly between the ages of 15-25 years.
Research suggests that a person's genetic make up may make them more likely to develop an eating disorder. A significant person, such as a parent or relative, may adversely influence other family members through his or her attitudes to food. In situations where there are high academic expectations or social pressures, a person may focus on food and eating as a way coping with these stresses.
Traumatic events can trigger anorexia or bulimia nervosa: bereavement, being bullied or abused, family upheaval )such as divorce(.
It is likely, as with other mental illnesses, that the root cause of this disorder is a spiritual one. From a spiritual perspective, weakening of Imaan )faith( may leave a personal vulnerable to this disorder. There are reports that both and anorexics and bulimics suffer from intrusive and uncontrollable thoughts that could be attributed to the workings of the jinn and Satan. Satan often manipulates the weaknesses of a human and this may be the case for people who suffer from eating disorders. It is important to understand that the illness could also be a test from Allaah, as with other illnesses, but the treatment approach will be the same in either case.
Treatment options
When it comes to an eating disorder, seeking help and treatment is essential. There is no book or article that can professionally diagnose a person who is suffering from this disease; only a trained and qualified professional can. There are many treatment options available for those who have eating disorders. Always keep in mind that treatment is different for everyone and every person should be evaluated on an

Personal, - Benefits of Suhoor )the predawn meal(

ShareShare

one of the main meals during the blessed month of Ramadan. Doctors have confirmed that it is more important than the meal with which one breaks his fast )Iftaar(, because it helps the person persevere through the difficulties of fasting. This is the reason why our Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, advised us to eat it and encouraged us not to abandon it in many texts. For example, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Eat Suhoor; Indeed, there is a blessing in Suhoor.” ]Al-Bukhaari and Muslim[
Part of the reason for the blessings that result from eating this meal is its strengthening the fasting person and giving him energy, thus making fasting easy for him. Additionally, by eating this meal one attains the reward of following the instructions of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.
This blessed meal has many health benefits for the fasting person, such as:
It prevents fatigue and headaches during the daytime.
It reduces extreme hunger and thirst.
It prevents the fasting person from feeling lazy, sluggish or in need of sleep.
It prevents the loss of body cells.
It energizes and stimulates the digestive system.
It helps the body maintain its sugar levels while fasting.
It spiritually assists the believer to fulfill fasting as an act of worship.
It is preferable that this meal include vegetables that contain a high level of fluids, such as lettuce and cucumber, because this helps the body maintain fluids for a long period of time which thus reduces the feeling of thirst and prevents dehydration. Additionally, these types of vegetables are a good source for vitamins and minerals.
It is also recommended to have beans with olive oil, cheese and eggs as a part of this meal. This is because it takes the body 7-9 hours to digest these types of foods, and thus one’s hunger would be delayed. Also, these types supply the body with the required energy throughout the day.
Do not consume large quantities of sugar or salt, because sugar triggers hunger, while salt triggers thirst.
It is important to delay the Suhoor meal until as close to dawn as possible so as not to feel hungry or thirsty shortly after one starts to fast. Moreover, this was the advice of our Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. ‘Amr ibn Maymoon, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “The Companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, would break their fasts immediately at sunset )without any delay( and would delay eating Suhoor )until as close to Fajr as possible(.” ]Al-Bayhaqi[
Suhoor does not have to be a full meal. Rather, one can simply eat a date and would be considered as having had Suhoor. Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said:“The best Suhoor is )to eat( dates.” ]Abu Daawood[ If one cannot find dates, then water would be sufficient for one to attain the sought blessing promised by the Prophet,

Personal, - Breastfeeding is beneficial for mothers too

ShareShare

research center of the Douglas Hospital of Canada, which is linked to McGill University, conducted a study on the responses of 25 breastfeeding mothers and another 25 bottle-feeding mothers, who have one or more children. The mothers were exposed to different stressful situations either emotional, such as watching saddening scenes or others, such as attending seminars and lectures. The levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, were measured in saliva samples that were collected from them. It turned out that the breastfeeding mothers did not suffer the symptoms of stress like the other mothers did in all the situations to which they were exposed.
Researchers found that a breastfeeding mother has lower levels of cortisol in all the situations, which indicated that they were more able to distinguish between important and less important effects. This is a unique ability that is not possessed by bottle-feeding mothers. Breastfeeding mothers who had more than one child showed to be less responsive to stress, which means that breastfeeding has more benefits when it is done after multiple childbirths.
The results of the study showed that bottle-feeding mothers are more sensitive to and interactive with stress, which makes them easily distracted and deprives their children of receiving due care. Experts see that this study may lead to a better understanding of postnatal depression. As soon as doctors understand how breastfeeding enhances the mother’s ability to sort out straining daily events, they will be able to easily treat or prevent postnatal depression.
Breastfeeding Benefits for Mothers
Experts see that the positive results of breastfeeding are not limited to children; they also extend to mothers. Some of the benefits appear immediately and others in the long term.
An immediate benefit of breastfeeding is the increase of Oxytocin level that helps with the production of breast milk, simultaneously giving her a deep feeling of rest and calm. Also, breastfeeding helps the womb to contract to its original size. Modern studies refer to the importance of breastfeeding in decreasing the risk of postnatal depression and postpartum hemorrhage.
The crucial benefits, in the long term, include controlling blood sugar levels and raising the level of good cholesterol, consequently reducing the risk of heart disease. In addition, breastfeeding, even for a few months, reduces the risk of breast and womb cancer and protects the bones from thinning.
Breastfeeding Benefits Children
Breastfeeding benefits children in many ways, including the following:
High intelligence level: In a study published in 2002, American researchers, who kept abreast of the brain development of a group of children in the first stage of childhood through adolescence until their twenties, emphasize that children who were breastfed were more intelligent than children who were fed on baby formula.
Stronger bones and skeleton: According to a study published in a medical magazine in 2002 that was conducted on a group of children, the density of the neck bones and spines of children who were breastfed for at least three months surpassed the density of the same parts in children whose mothers never breastfed them or were breastfed for less than three months.
Obesity-proof: Specialists emphasize that breastfeeding helps children to control their weight and protect them from obesity at later stages of their lives. A recent study refers to the decrease of insulin levels in breastfed children, which helps control obesity.
Protection against asthma and other problems related to the respiratory system, as mentioned by a study that was published in 2002 by Australian researchers who stress that breastfeeding can protect children from asthma, even for babies whose mothers suffer from this respiratory problem.
Immunity against a large number of diseases, as always stressed by physicians
New Benefits of Breastfeeding
Researchers recently discovered that acquired immunity is not limited to the breastfeeding period; it extends throughout the stages of the child’s life. In addition, medical studies emphasize that breast milk helps children to recover quickly, protects them from all types of allergies, and reduces their worries and stress.
A new medical study, which was presented in the annual meeting of the American Neurological Association, emphasizes that breastfeeding quickens the recovery of postnatal wounds and the subsequent scars in mothers. In their studies of mice, researchers found that breastfeeding accelerated the healing of the mothers' wounds, lessened their tension and pain, and reconstructed the tissues that were destroyed during delivery. It turned out that the mice which breastfed their babies recovered faster than the mice whose babies were bottle-fed.
Such results are confirmed by studies that showed that breast milk is the best food for children, as it protects them from allergies, infestations, and stomach and intestine disorders, in addition to the benefits for mothers.
Ohio University researchers noticed, after making small wounds in a group of mice one day after they delivered their baby mice, that their wounds healed quickly and closed with at least 30% more strength five days after breastfeeding their babies, compared to animals that were prevented from feeding their babies.
According to Nature magazine, researchers explained that this is related to hormones. After giving birth to their babies, mothers have high rates of the prolactin hormone which is known as the milk hormone, which consequently increases the number of immune cells running in the blood, thus quickening reconstruction and healing. Also, mothers have high rates of Oxytocin that stimulates the secretion of milk, decreases the tension hormone levels, activates immunity, and helps to enhance the emotional link between

Dought & clear, - What the Shi’ah do on ‘Ashoora’ is bid’ah (innovation) and misguidance

ShareShare

I am living in dubai and here huge number of shia are pesent arround us they always say that doing maatum on 9 and 10 muhaaram is right and this is the proof that we love hazrat husain and hazrat yaqoob also said “Hazrat Yaqoob (a.s.) cried and said a word (Hey Yousuf) he cried that in result of he became blind and thier rest sons who were wrong asked him if you cried like this than you will hurt yourself and no dought you will die one day while crying. THEN Haszar Yaqoob (a.s.) replied I cried and tell all my tregedy to ALMIGHTY ALLAH and I know something from GOD” please tell me the answer as soon as possible that beating chest is right or wrong???
Praise be to Allaah.
What the Shi’ah do on ‘Ashoora’ of beating their chests, slapping their cheeks, striking their shoulders with chains and cutting their heads with swords to let the blood flow are all innovations that have no basis in Islam. These things are evils that were forbidden by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who did not prescribe for his ummah to do any of these things or anything similar to them to mark the death of a leader or the loss of a martyr, no matter what his status. During his lifetime (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) a number of senior Sahaabah were martyred and he mourned their loss, such as Hamzah ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib, Zayd ibn Haarithah, Ja’far ibn Abi Taalib and ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Rawaahah, but he did not do any of the things that these people do. If it was good, he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would have done it before us.
Ya’qoob (peace be upon him) did not strike his chest or scratch his face, or shed blood or take the day of the loss of Yoosuf as a festival or day of mourning. Rather he remembered his missing loved one and felt sad and distressed because of that. This is something no one can be blamed for. What is forbidden is these actions that have been inherited from the Jaahiliyyah, and which Islam forbids.
Al-Bukhaari (1294) and Muslim (103) narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, rends his garment, or cries with the cry of the Jaahiliyyah.”
These reprehensible actions that the Shi’ah do on the day of ‘Ashoora’ have no basis in Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do them, nor did any of his companions. None of his companions did them when he or anyone else died, although the loss of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was greater than the death of al-Husayn (may Allaah be pleased with him).
Al-Haafiz Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Every Muslim should mourn the killing of al-Husayn (may Allaah be pleased with him), for he is one of the leaders of the Muslims, one of the scholars of the Sahaabah, and the son of the daughter of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who was the best of his daughters. He was a devoted worshipper, and a courageous and generous man. But there is nothing good in what the Shi’ah do of expressing distress and grief, most of which may be done in order to show off. His father was better than him and he was killed, but they do not take his death as an anniversary as they do with the death of al-Husayn. His father was killed on a Friday as he was leaving the mosque after Fajr prayer, on the seventeenth of Ramadaan in 40 AH. ‘Uthmaan was better than ‘Ali according to Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah, and he was killed when he was besieged in his house during the days of al-Tashreeq in Dhu’l-Hijjah of 36 AH, with his throat cut from one jugular vein to the other, but the people did not take his death as an anniversary. ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab was better than ‘Ali and ‘Uthmaan, and he was killed as he was standing in the mihraab, praying Fajr and reciting Qur’aan, but the people did not take his death as an anniversary. Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq was better than him but the people did not take his death as an anniversary. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the leader of the sons of Adam in this world and the Hereafter, and Allaah took him to Him as the Prophets died before him, but no one took the dates of their deaths as anniversaries on which they do what these ignorant Raafidis do on the day that al-Husayn was killed. … The best that can be said when remembering these and similar calamities is that which ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated from his grandfather the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who said: “There is no Muslim who is afflicted by a calamity and when he remembers it, even if it was in the dim and distant past, he saysInna Lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon(verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return), but Allaah will give him a reward like that of the day when it befell him.”
Narrated by Imam Ahmad and Ibn Majaah, end quote fromal-Bidaayah wa’l-Nihaayah(8/221).
And he said (8/220): The Raafidis went to extremes in the state of Bani Buwayh in the year 400 and thereabouts. The drums were beaten in Baghdad and other cities on the day of ‘Ashoora’, and sand and straw was strewn in the streets and marketplaces, and sackcloth was hung on the shops, and the people expressed grief and wept. Many of them did not drink water that night, in sympathy with al-Husayn, because he was killed when he was thirsty. Then the women went out barefaced, wailing and slapping their faces and chests, walking barefoot in the marketplaces, and other reprehensible innovations… What they intended by these and similar actions is to impugn the state of Banu Umayyah (the Umayyads), because he was killed during their era.
On the day of ‘Ashoora, the Naasibis of Syria do the opposite of what the Raafidis and Shi’ah do. They used to cook grains on the day of ‘Ashoora and do ghusl and perfume themselves, and wear their finest garments, and they took that day as an Eid for which they made all kinds of food, and expressed happiness and joy, intending thereby to annoy the Raafidis and be different from them.
Celebrating that day is an innovation (bid’ah), and making it an anniversary for mourning is also an innovation. Hence Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Because of the killing of al-Husayn (may Allaah be pleased with him), shaytaan caused the people to introduce two innovations: the innovation of mourning and wailing on the day of ‘Ashoora’, by slapping the cheeks, weeping, and reciting eulogies. … and the innovation of rejoicing and celebrating. … So some introduced mourning and others introduced celebration, so they regarded the day of ‘Ashoora’ as a day for wearing kohl, doing ghusl, spending on the family and making special foods. … And every innovation is a going astray. None of the four imams of the Muslims or any other (scholars) regarded either of these things as mustahabb. End quote fromMinhaaj al-Sunnah(4/554).
It should be noted that these reprehensible actions are encouraged by the enemies of Islam, so that they can achieve their evil aims of distorting the image of Islam and its followers. Concerning this Moosa al-Musawi said in his bookal-Shi’ah wa’l-Tas-heeh:
But there can be no doubt that striking heads with swords and cutting the head in mourning for al-Husayn on the tenth day of Muharram reached Iran and Iraq and India during the British occupation of those lands. The British are the ones who exploited the ignorance and naiveté of the Shi’ah and their deep love for Imam al-Husayn, and taught them to strike their heads with swords. Until recently the British embassies in Tehran and Baghdad sponsored the Husayni parades in which this ugly spectacle appears in the streets and alleyways. The aim of the British imperialist policy of developing this ugly spectacle and exploiting it in the worst manner was to give an acceptable justification to the British people and the free press that opposed British colonialism in India and other Muslim countries, and to show the peoples of these countries as savages who needed someone to save them from their ignorance and savagery. Images of the parades that marched in the streets on the day of ‘Ashoora’, in which thousands of people were striking their backs with chains and making them bleed, and striking their heads with daggers and swords, appeared in British and European newspapers, and the politicians justified their colonization of these countries on the basis of a humane duty to colonize the lands of these people whose culture was like that so as to lead these peoples towards civility and progress. It was said that when Yaseen al-Haashimi, the Iraqi Prime Minister at the time of the British occupation of Iraq, visited London to negotiate with the British for an end to the Mandate, the British said to him: We are in Iraq to help the Iraqi people to make progress and attain happiness, and bring them out of savagery. This angered Yaseen al-Haashimi and he angrily walked out of the room where the negotiations were being held, but the British apologized politely and asked him with all respect to watch a documentary about Iraq, which turned out to be a film about the Husayni marches in the streets of al-Najaf, Karbala’ and al-Kaazimiyyah, showing horrific and off-putting images of people striking themselves with daggers and chains. It is as if the British wanted to tell him: Would an educated people with even a little civility do such things to themselves?! End quote.
And Allaah knows best.

Dought & clear, - Descriptionof ‘Umrah

ShareShare

I want to know about ‘Umrah in detail.
Praise be to Allaah.
An act of worship cannot be accepted unless it meets two conditions:
1 – Sincerity towards Allaah alone, i.e., it is done to seek the Countenance of Allaah and the Hereafter, and is not done to show off, to enhance one’s reputation or for worldly gain.
2 – Following the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in word and deed. Following the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) can only be achieved by knowing his Sunnah
Hence the one who wants to worship Allaah by doing any act of worship – Hajj or anything else – has to learn the teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) concerning it, so that his actions will be in accordance with the Sunnah.
We will sum up in these few lines the description of ‘Umrah as narrated in the Sunnah.
‘Umrah is composed of four things, namely: ihraam, circumambulation of the Sacred House (tawaaf), saa’i between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and shaving the head or cutting the hair.
1 – Ihraam.
Ihraam means having the intention of starting the rituals of Hajj or ‘Umrah.
When the pilgrim wants to enter ihraam, he should change his clothes and do ghusl like the ghusl done to cleanse oneself of janaabah (impurity following sexual activity). Then he should apply whatever perfume is available, musk or whatever, to his head and beard. It does not matter if traces of that perfume remain after he enters ihraam, because of the hadeeth narrated inal-Saheehaynfrom ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) who said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) wanted to enter ihraam, he would perfume himself with the best perfume he could find, then I would see shining traces of that musk on his head and beard after that.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 271; Muslim, 1190.
Doing ghusl when entering ihraam is Sunnah for both men and women, even women who are bleeding following childbirth or menstruating, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded Asma’ bint ‘Umays when she was bleeding following childbirth to do ghusl when she entered ihraam, and to bandage her private parts and enter ihraam. Narrated by Muslim, 1209. Then after doing ghusl and putting on perfume, the pilgrim should put on the ihraam garments and – apart from women who are bleeding following childbirth or menstruating – pray the obligatory prayer if that is at the time of an obligatory prayer, otherwise they should pray two rak’ahs with the intention of the Sunnah prayer of wudoo’. When the pilgrim has finished praying he should face the qiblah and enter ihraam. He may delay ihraam until he has boarded his means of transportation, and is ready to move off, but he should enter ihraam before he leaves the meeqaat for Makkah.
Then he should say,Labbayk Allaahumma bi ‘Umrah(Here I am, O Allaah, for ‘Umrah).
Then he should recite the Talbiyah as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did: “Labbayka Allaahumma labbayk, labbayka laa shareeka laka labbayk. Inna al-hamd wa’l-ni’mata laka wa’l-mulk, laa shareeka lak (Here I am, O Allaah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner).”
The Talbiyah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also included the words, “Labbayka ilaah al-haqq(Here I am, O God of Truth).”
Ibn ‘Umar used to add to the Talbiyah the words, “Labbaayk wa sa’dayka, wa’l-khayr bi yadayka, wa’l-raghba’ ilayka wa’l-‘aml(Here I am and blessed by You, and all good is in Your hands, and desire and action are directed towards You).”
Men should raise their voices when saying that, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Jibreel came to me and told me to tell my companions and those who are with me to raise their voices when reciting the Talbiyah.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh Abi Dawood, 1599. And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best of Hajj is that in which voices are raised in the Talbiyah and the blood of the sacrificial animal flows.” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani inSaheeh al-Jaami’, 1112.
A woman should recite in such a manner that those who are beside her can hear it, unless there is a man beside her who is not one of her mahrams, in which case she should recite it silently.
If the person who is entering ihraam fears some obstacle that may prevent him from completing his pilgrimage (such as sickness, an enemy, being stopped from proceeding any further, etc), then he should stipulate a condition when entering ihraam by saying, “If I am prevented then my exiting ihraam is where I am prevented” – i.e., if something prevents me from completing my pilgrimage such as sickness or delay etc, then I will exit my ihraam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded Dubaa’ah bint al-Zubayr, when she wanted to enter ihraam but she was sick, to stipulate such a condition, and he said, “Your condition is valid with your Lord.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5089) and Muslim (1207).
If he stipulates this condition and something happens to prevent him from completing his pilgrimage, then he can exit his ihraam and does not have to do anything (i.e., offer a sacrifice in compensation).
But the one who does not fear that some obstacle may prevent him from completing his pilgrimage does not have to stipulate any conditions, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not stipulate conditions nor did he command everyone to do so. Rather he told Dubaa’ah bint al-Zubayr to do that because she was sick.
The muhrim (person who has entered ihraam) should recite the Talbiyah a great deal, especially when circumstances and times change, such as when going up to a high place or going down to a low place, or when night or day begin. After that he should ask Allaah for His good pleasure and for Paradise, and seek refuge in His Mercy from the Fire.
The Talbiyah is prescribed in ‘Umrah from the moment one enters ihraam until one starts Tawaaf. When he starts Tawaaf he should stop reciting the Talbiyah.
Ghusl when entering Makkah
When the pilgrim approaches Makkah, he should do ghusl before entering, if possible, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did ghusl when he entered Makkah. Narrated by Muslim, 1259.
2 – Tawaaf
Then when he enters al-Masjid al-Haraam he should do so with his right foot first, and say, “Bismillaah wa’l-salaatu wa’l-salaam ‘ala Rasool-Allaah. Allaahumma ighfir li dhunoobi waftah li abwaab rahmatika. A’oodhu Billaah il-‘Azeem wa bi wajhih il-kareem wa bi sultaanih il-‘qadeem min al-Shaytaan il-rajeem(In the name of Allaah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allaah. O Allaah, forgive me my sins and open to me the gates of Your mercy. I seek refuge with Allaah the Almighty and in His noble Countenance and His eternal power from the accursed Satan).” Then he should go to the Black Stone in order to start tawaaf. He should touch the Stone with his right hand and kiss it; if he cannot kiss it then he should touch it with his hand and kiss his hand. If he cannot touch it with his hand then he should face the Stone and point to it with his hand and say “Allaahu akbar”, but he should not kiss his hand.
There is a great deal of virtue in touching the Black Stone, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah will raise up the Black Stone on the Day of Resurrection and it will have two eyes with which it will see and a tongue with which it will speak, and it will bear witness for those who touched it in sincerity.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1144.
It is better not to crowd around and cause annoyance to people or be annoyed by them, because of the hadeeth in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to ‘Umar: “O ‘Umar, you are a strong man, do not crowd around the Stone and disturb the weak. If you find space, then touch it, otherwise just face it and say ‘Allaahu akbar.’” Narrated by Ahmad, 191; classed as qawiy by al-Albaani inRisaalat Manaasik al-Hajj wa’l-‘Umrah, p. 21.
Then he should move towards the right, with the Ka’bah on his left, and when he reaches the Yemeni Corner (al-Rukn al-Yamaani, which is the third corner after the Black Stone) he should touch it, without kissing his hand or saying “Allaahu akbar”. If he cannot touch it then he should move on, and not crowd around it. Between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone he should say, “Rabbanaa aatina fi’l-dunya hasanah wa fi’l-aakhirah hasanah wa qinna ‘adhaab al-Naar(Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire).” Narrated by Abu Dawood and classed as hasan by al-Albaani inSaheeh Abi Dawood, 1666.
Every time he passes the Black Stone he should face it and say ‘Allaahu akbar’, and in the rest of his tawaaf he should recite whatever he likes of dhikr, du’aa’ and Qur’aan, because tawaaf around the Ka’bah has been established for the remembrance of Allaah.
In Tawaaf men should do two things:
1 – Uncovering the right shoulder (idtibaa’) from the beginning of tawaaf until the end. This is done by placing the middle of the rida’ (upper garment) beneath the right armpit and the ends of the rida’ over the left shoulder. When the pilgrim finishes tawaaf, he should put his rida’ back as it was before tawaaf, because the time for wearing it with one shoulder uncovered is only in tawaaf.
2 – Raml in the first three circuits only. Raml means walking quickly with short steps. In the last four circuits there is no raml, rather the pilgrim should walk normally.
When the pilgrim has completed seven circuits of tawaaf, he should cover his right shoulder and then go to the Station of Ibraaheem (Maqaam Ibraaheem) and recite the words (interpretation of the meaning):
“And take you (people) the Maqaam (place) of Ibraaheem (Abraham) [or the stone on which Ibraaheem (Abraham) stood while he was building the Ka‘bah] as a place of prayer (for some of your prayers, e.g. two Rak‘at after the Tawaaf of the Ka‘bah at Makkah),”
[al-Baqarah 2:125]
Then he should pray two rak’ahs behind the Station; in the first rak’ah after reciting al-Faatihah he should reciteYaa ayyaha’l-kaafiroon(Soorat al-Kaafiroon 109) and in the secondQul Huwa Allaahu ahad(Soorat al-Ikhlaas 112). Then when he has finished this prayer he should go to the Black Stone and touch it if he can. It is prescribed at this point to touch it only; if he cannot do that then he should go away and not point to it.
3 – Saa’i
Then he should go out to the Mas’aa (place for saa’i) and when he comes near to al-Safa’ he should recite (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, As-Safa and Al-Marwah (two mountains in Makkah) are of the Symbols of Allaah”
[al-Baqarah 2:158]
And he should say: “Nabda’u bima bada’a Allaah bihi(We start with that with which Allaah started).”
Then he should climb al-Safa until he can see the Ka’bah, then he should face it and raise his hands and praise Allaah, and make du’aa’ as he wishes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say: “Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk, wa lahu’l-hamd, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdah, anjaza wa’dah, wa nasara ‘abdah, wa hazamaa al-ahzaaba wahdah(There is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the Dominion, all praise is due to Him, and He is able to do all things. There is no god but Allaah alone; he fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His slave, and defeated the confederates alone).” Narrated by Muslim, 1218.
He should repeat that three times, and make du’aa’ in between. He should recite this dhikr then make du’aa’, then recite it again and make du’aa’, and recite it a third time, then come down to al-Marwah, and not make du’aa’ after the third time.
When he reaches the green marker he should run as quickly as he can without disturbing anyone, because it was proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did saa’i between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and he said, “The river bed is not crossed except with vigour.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh Ibn Maajah, 2419. The river bed [it was a dried river bed in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)] is the area between the two green markers that stand there now.
When he reaches the second green marker, he should walk normally until he reaches al-Marwah. He should climb up it and turn to face the qiblah, and raise his hands and say what he said at al-Safa. Then he should come down from al-Marwah and head for al-Safa, walking in the place of walking and running in the place of running. When he reaches al-Safa he should do what he did the first time, and the same when he goes back to al-Marwah, until he has completed seven circuits; going from al-Safa’ to al-Marwah is one circuit, and coming back from al-Marwah to al-Safa is another circuit. During his saa’i he can say whatever he likes or dhikr and du’aa’, and recite Qur’aan.
Note:
The verse (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, As-Safa and Al-Marwah (two mountains in Makkah) are of the Symbols of Allaah”
[al-Baqarah 2:158]
should be recited by the pilgrim who wants to perform saa’i when he approaches al-Safa at the beginning of saa’i only. It is not mustahabb to repeat it every time he approaches al-Safa and al-Marwah, as some people do.
4 – Shaving the head or cutting the hair
When he has completed seven circuits (of saa’i) he should shave his head if he is a man, or cut some of his hair. If he shaves his head he must shave his entire head, and if he cuts his hair he must cut from all over his head. Shaving is better than cutting because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made du’aa’ three times for those who shaved their heads and once for those who cut their hair. Narrated by Muslim, 1303.
Women should cut the length of a fingertip from their hair.
With these actions, ‘Umrah is complete. So ‘Umrah consists of ihraam, tawaaf, saa’i and shaving the head or cutting the hair.
We ask Allaah to help us to do righteous deeds, and to accept them from us, for He is Ever Near and responds to our prayers.

Dought & clear, - Imam and congregation offering du‘aa’together following Jumu‘ah prayer

ShareShare

We pray the two fard rak‘ahs of Jumu‘ah, then after that the imam turns around and we all offer du‘aa’ together. Is what we do correct?
Praise be to Allah.
What the believers should do is follow the example of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with regard to what he did and did not do. He should do what the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did and refrain from that from which the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) refrained. Allah, may He be exalted, said (interpretation of the meaning):
“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day ...”
[al-Ahzaab 33:21].
Du‘aa’ by the imam after an obligatory prayer – Jumu‘ah or otherwise – with the congregation saying Ameen is something that was not done by the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) or by any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). If it was good, they would have done it before us.
Based on that, this action comes under the heading of reprehensible innovation. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you lives after I am gone will see great disputes; you must adhere to my Sunnah and the way of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. Hold on to it and cling fast to it. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every newly-invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray.”
Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4607; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh Abi Dawood.
And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever introduces something into this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2697; Muslim, 1718.
Ash-Shaatibi (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned congregational du‘aa’ after the obligatory prayer in his bookal-I‘tisaam(1/349-355), and explained that this is an innovation, because that was not done by the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) or by any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) or any of the imams (leading scholars) after them.
What you must do is refrain from this innovation and strive to recite the adhkaar and du‘aa’s that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say after the prayer. And whoever wants to offer du‘aa’ may do so quietly.
And Allah knows best.
