*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

The Wisdom of the Prophet: the Incident of the Epileptic Woman

There is a hadith narrated by 'Ata bin Abi Rabah:
Ibn 'Abbas once said to me, "Shall I show you a woman of the people of
Paradise?"
I said, "Yes."
He said, "This black lady came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and
said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered;please
invoke Allah for me.' The Prophet said (to her), 'If you wish,be
patient and you will have Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke
Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but
I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not
become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." - Bukhari :: Book 7
:: Volume 70 :: Hadith 555
This hadith was published recently on MuslimasOasis.com , and I was
fascinated by the many comments from readers who have epilepsy and
have been inspired or comforted by this hadith.
One sister wrote:
"(This hadith) was a comfort to me as an epileptic when I had a
seizure outside of a masjid on thepavement in Philadephia during a
busy Jumaah afternoon. When I came to, my niqab was removed, my hijab
loosened, and my husband and a brother were helping the paramedics
that had arrived. Because of this hadith I felt comfort in spite of
being such a spectacle, alhamdulillah."
Another said:
"I too am an epileptic. When I firstreverted to Islam over 3 years
ago, one of the sisters who witnessed my Shahada wrote this hadith out
and gave it to me. It is a HUGE comfort to know this. May Allah ease
the trials of all epilepticsand those who suffer from any disease and
grant us all sabr. Ameen!"
And there were other similar comments, from men and women,ma-sha-Allah.
I don't have epilepsy or any other serious sickeness, Alhamdulillah
(praise God) for all His blessings. But as I read the comments of
people who do have some illness and have been tremendously comforted
by this hadith, all of a sudden I realized the huge wisdom of the
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in what he said to the epileptic woman. He
could have simply invoked for her and she would have been cured, and
then all of us 1,400 years laterwould read the story and say,
"Ma-sha-Allah, another miracle to prove his Prophethood." But it would
have no lasting personal significance.
Instead, by asking the woman to be patient and promising her Jannah
(Paradise), the Prophet (pbuh) has sent a message of hope down through
the ages to all the other sufferers in the world: Allah sees your
suffering. Your pain will be compensated, and your patience rewarded
with the greatest possible prize.
Even today epilepsy cannot be cured, though it can be controlled
somewhat through medication. So even now, all these years later, in
this age of medical wonders, this hadith still has immediate
significance for people who sufferfrom this illness, and in fact from
people who suffer from any illness, from cancer to leprosy to bipolar
disorder.
Another point of note is that everyProphet was sent with certain types
of miracles appropriate to the understanding of their people.Musa
(Moses, peace be upon him) was sent with the staff of power and the
white hand, because his mission was to a people steeped in sorcery.
"Medical miracles" – curing the sick, even bringing the dead back to
life – were the hallmark of the Prophet Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of
Mary, pbuh),because he was sent to a people who specialized in healing
arts.
If the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had made it his habit to cure the sick,
the Christians might say about us Muslims, "Oh, you are only taking
Biblical stories and applying them to your Prophet."
Instead, though the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) performed hisshare of
wonders, he was given the greatest miracle of all, the Quran, a living
proof through the millenia, and a source of eternal guidance. This is
appropriate because his immediate mission was to a people of poetry,
of language and eloquence; while his greater mission was to all of
humanity.
"Say: 'If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to
produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of
it, even if they backed up each other with help and support.'" (Quran
17:88)

Ahdaf Soueif: Protesters reclaim the spirit of Egypt

Egyptian novelist Ahdaf Soueif reflects on the determination of
Egyptians, after the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak, to rebuild
their country and reclaimtheir national identity.
I have friends on anti-depressantswho, over the last 20 days, forgot
to take their pills and have now thrown them away. Such is the effect
of the Egyptian Revolution.
On Friday night, Egypt partied. Chants and songs and drums and
joy-cries rang out from Alexandriato Aswan. The defunct regime was
only mentioned in reference to "we want our money back".
Otherwise, three chants were dominant - and very telling: One -"Lift
your head up high, you're Egyptian" - was a response to how
humiliated, how hopeless we'd been made to feel over the last four
decades.
The second was: "We'll get married, We'll have kids," and reflected
the hopes of the millionswhose desperate need for jobs and homes had
been driving them to risk their lives to illegally cross the sea to
Europe or the desert to Libya.
The third chant was: "Everyone who loves Egypt, come and rebuild Egypt."
We have a lot to learn very quickly. But we're working. And the
people, everywhere, are with us"
Ahdaf Soueif
Newborn revolution
And on Saturday, they were as good as their word: they came and
cleaned up after their revolution.

Hadees

"When a bird is alive it eats ants, yet when it dies, the ants eat it.
Circumstances can change at any time and the tables usually turn over
a period of time. Do not oppress, despise or hurt anyone during your
lifetime. You may be powerful today but remember, time is more
powerful that you! Just like one tree makes a million match sticks,
yet when the time comes then only a single match is needed to burn a
million trees."

Turkey protests as Syrians open fire at border

Turkey has protested after Syrian forces opened fire across the
border, in the first such attack since Turkey began housing refugees
from the unrest.
Ankara summoned Syria's envoy after two incidents in which violence
spilled over into Turkey, leaving at least two people dead and many
injured.
Separately, a Lebanese cameraman was shot dead on theSyria-Lebanon border.
The violence comes amid fading hopes that a UN-brokered Syria
ceasefire will start on Tuesday as planned.
Monday has proved to be one of the bloodiest days of the uprising
despite the truce deal, which should be marked by troop withdrawals
from towns and cities if it is being implemented.
Activists reported more than 100 deaths - among them at least 30
civilians who died during Syrian army bombardment in the central
province of Hama.
Harrowing scenes were reported in the town of al-Latmana, where 17
women and eight children were said to have been crushed under the
rubble of their homes in the second attack on the area in days.
The deaths come as a report by Human Rights Watch accused Syrian
forces of carrying out morethan 100 summary executions since March.
The report says most of the victims were civilians/

Laa ilaha il-Allah

Frankly, if you became Muslim for any reason other than this, then you
never understood Islam to begin with. And if you were raised Muslim
but were not taught the infinite importance of this single sentence,
then you were not really raised as Muslim. You were only taught
cultural practices.
This is Islam. This is what all reality is based on. This is what
religion has been since the beginning of time. This is what all the
Prophets brought (may Allah bless them all). Every element of creation
acknowledges this truth except us; every child is born on this truth
(which is why we are all"born Muslim"): This truth that we were
created by a single, indivisible God; that our Creator is Loving,
Merciful and Compassionate; that everything we are and everything we
own comes from Him; that we began with Him as a breath, and we return
to Him as dust; that He witnesses everything we do; that He rewards
the good and punishes evil; that He loves us andwants good for us in
this life and the next; that He answers when we call and guides us
when we ask; that we owe gratitude to Himfor every heartbeat, every
lung fullof air, every bite of food, and every glimpse of truth.
No one deserves our love and obedience before Allah. Our first loyalty
is to Him.
No one can help us but Allah; and no one can harm us but Him. When
we're struggling and we cryout to ourselves, "What am I going to do?
Who will help me? What is the way forward for me?",we need to address
those cries toAllah! The answers will not come from our own thoughts
or tears; the answers won't come from banging our fists or pulling our
hair. The answers will come from Allah.
Forget for a moment about all those other factors that you are
reacting to: how so-and-so treated you, how your family treats you,
what the non-Muslims say, what the policies are at the Masjid, how
some Muslims gossip or discriminate, blah, blah, blah, these things
are distractions and traps.
I'm not saying that these things should not affect us. We're
humanbeings and we can't help being affected by how other human beings
treat us. Our relationships with family and society are real and they
matter. But these factors should never cut us awayfrom Laa
ilaha-il-Allah. If they do, then the wolf has isolated us, cut us away
from the truth and begun to devour our souls.
Truth. If you are in Islam for any other reason, then indeed, what isthe point?
This is a characteristic of a believing Muslim, that he or she is
dedicated to the truth, is committed to truth like a plant to the sun.
We must have a passion for the truth, we must be willing to die for
the truth/

♥::..Love her & be patient with her even when she nags you.::♥

It is reported that a man came to 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radhiAllahu
anhu) to complain about his wife's ill-temper. While he was waiting
for 'Umar to come out of his house, he heard 'Umar's wife scolding him
and 'Umar quietly listening to her, andnot answering her back.
The man turned around and started walking away, muttering to himself:
"If that is the case with 'Umar, the leader of the believers, who is
famous for his uprighteness and toughness, then what about poor me?!"
At that moment, 'Umar came out of his house and saw the man walking
away. He called him and said, "What is it you want of me, O man?"
The man replied: "O leader of the believers, I came to complain to you
about my wife's bad-temper and how she nags me. Then I heard your wife
doing the same to you, so I turned around, muttering to myself, 'If
that is the situation of the leader of the believers, then what about
me?'"
'Umar replied, "O my brother, I bear with her because of her rights
over me. She cooks my food, bakes my bread, washes my clothes,
breast-feeds my child...and yet none of these are her duty;* and then
she is a comfort to myheart and keeps me away from forbidden deeds.
Consequently, I bear with her."
The man said, "It is the same with me, O leader of the believers."
'Umar said:"Then, O my brother, be patient with her, indeed this life
is short.
(Adh-Dhahabi, Al-Kabâ'ir 194)
This hadith about 'Umar is a beautiful example of the lofty status
that Islam has given women. The Ameer ul Mu'mineen [Commander of the
Believers] himself used to listen patiently while his wife scolded him
and he instructed his followers to likewise be patient and grateful
for all the favours their wives gave them/

Dua & Poetry

Beautiful Dua Of Rasulullah(s.a. w.w)
"O ALLAH! I hope for your mercy , so do not entrust me to myself
(nafs) even for a moment, and rectify my affairs. there is no God But
You.
[Abu Dawud]/

You are not powerless if upon Allah you rely. You are not weak if you
leave your matters to Him. Don't give ear to what people say. If your
strength lies in your Iman (faith) and connection to Allah, then you
are from the strongest of people to walk the face of the earth.
"Verily, Allah defends thosewho believe. Indeed, Allah does not love
every treacherous, disbelieving ingrate." (22: 38)
"Verily, the Awliyaa' (close ones) of Allah, no fear shall be upon
them nor any grief. They are those who believed and had taqwa
(piety)..." (10: 62-63)/
