*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Darwinists: ''We apologize once again, we were also mistaken about Ardi''

Darwinists have had to keep apologizing for thelast 150 years; "sorry,
that was a hoax," they said, "our mistake, it wasa pig tooth, not a
humanone," they said, "sorry about that, the moths were deliberately
stuck onto the trees," "the skull had been planed down," "feathers had
been stuck onto the dinosaur by hand," "it appears that this fossil is
still alive and not an intermediate form at all," and "the primordial
atmosphere was not likethat at all," they said. "Embryos are not like
this at all, the illustrations are fakes," they said. "We said it was
the ancestor of man,but it appears it was justan ordinary ape," they
said. They have kept on apologizing and retracting their claims. They
have hurriedly withdrawn fossils from museums. Declaring something to
be an intermediate fossil in one issue of a journal, they have issued
an apology in the subsequent edition. And this has carried on right
down to the present day.
The reason is this: DARWINISM IS SIMPLY A DEVIANT IDEOLOGY, WITH
NOTHING SCIENTIFIC ABOUT IT. IT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY EVEN A SINGLE
PIECE OF SCIENTIFICEVIDENCE. It is for that reason that Darwinists
constantly manufacture false evidence. But their frauds are only
short-lived.
When their frauds emerge into the light of day, Darwinists then have
to stand up before the public and apologize. Piltdown Man, Nebraska
Man, the peppered moths, Haeckel's embryo drawings, the Coelacanth,
Lucy, Archaeoraptor, the equine evolution series, the skulls which
they have tried to be depict as evidence for the mythof human
evolution, Archaeopteryx and most recently Ida have all gone down as
some of the worst frauds there have ever been. Ida, the subject of
great show all over the world, was the most recent instance of this.
This fossil, described falsely as "the ancestor of man" and as "the
greatest evidence for evolution" on one of the world's best known TV
channels, the subject of documentary films and press conferences,
eventually turned out to be nothing more than an ordinary lemur
fossil. Following all the clamor they had created, Darwinists then had
to apologize yet again. (You can find more detailed information on the
subject here .)
ARDI HAS ALSO RECENTLY BEEN A PART OF ALL THIS FUROR. Darwinists took
an ordinary monkey fossil and totally rebuilt the completely
fragmented pelvic bone, which its millimetrically small pieces
continues toshatter , in such a way asto permit it "to walk upright."
One of the main reasons why the fossil in question was chosen as the
greatest potential candidate for the imaginary human evolution
scenario was the fact that its pelvic bone was reconstructed by
Darwinist scientists "in the way they wished." Darwinists did what
needed to be donein the name of Darwinism and Ardi was shamelessly
portrayed tothe whole world as an "upright-walking ape." They had no
hesitation in depicting it as the greatest evidence for supposed human
evolution. But like all theothers, this furor was also short-lived,
and the Darwinist fraud soon came out into the light of day and
directly, fromstatements made by Darwinist scientists.
Now it's time FOR THEM TO APOLOGIZE FOR ARDI.
The Darwinist William Jungers, head of the anatomical sciences
department of the Stony Brook University, Long Island, medical center
made this comment about the claims that Ardi represents an "ancestor
of man:"
I think some of the things they said might have been for effect. [1]
The Darwinist Tim White from the University of California and his
team, who examined Ardi and suggested that it might be the missing
link in the supposed evolution of man, had to make thisadmission:
"There are no apparent features sufficiently unique to warrant the
exclusion of Ar. ramidus as being ancestral to Australopithecus," [2]
The fact that the totally shattered pelvic bone and its surroundings
were reconstructed completely in the light ofDarwinist scientists'
interpretations was also explicitly set out by Darwinist scientists.
Jungers said this on the subject:
Maybe the pieces do fit together nicely, but the reality is they start
out with a very damaged specimen, and they end up with something very
similar to an australopithecine [an imaginary human-like group
including Lucy]"."It's very difficult not to make them look like
something you have in your mind if there's any chance of play"
... Ardi, requires a lot of guesswork. [3]
After examining the fossil remains Jungers said, "there is no way that
they could belong to 'an animal that wasn'toften walking on its hind
legs' unless the data 'were deliberately ignored or if we had made
them up'." [4] With that statement it was revealed that Tim White and
his team had perpetrated yet another deception in the name of
Darwinism.
It is not only the pelvic bone findings that refute the claims made
about Ardi. One article published in Science magazine stated that
theanatomy of Ardi's hind feet showed that it was a climbing animal.
An article titled "How Humanlike Was Ardi?" byKatherine Harmon of
Scientific American magazine said that not asingle part of the
animal's feet showed that it stood upright. Thefeet, and the big toes
in particular, exhibit features still found in present-day chimpanzees
that assist in climbing. Jungers summarizes the situationby saying:
[Ardi] really doesn't show any adaptations for bipedalism at all. [5]
Lacking a single piece of evidence with which to prove their claims,
Darwinists are now resorting to the following deception in order to be
able to portray this life form as the supposed ancestor of man: "The
females were small, because theylooked after the young while the males
went hunting." This wretched claim is in fact importantevidence of the
hopelessposition in which Darwinists find themselves. Since they have
no evidence in their possession, they have no hesitation over
resorting to demagoguery. It is shameful for a scientist to make such
a claim and, on the basis of it, todeclare that a perfect bonobo
monkey is in fact the ancestor of man.But no matter how embarrassing
it may be, Darwinists are obliged to repeat these pitiful claims for
the sake of deviant Darwinist ideology.
There is little need to take such a claim seriously and respond toit.
But it will be useful, from the point of view of showing the wretched
state into which those making it have fallen, to make this clear:
human beings are not the only living thingsto have a family life that
includes division of labor. Many living thingslive as families, and
bothmales and females within the family have their own separate tasks.
In many it is the males that hunt, while the females take care of the
young. Therefore, the fact that the female of a particular life form
does not hunt, but looks after the young, DOES NOT, OF COURSE, MAKE IT
HUMAN. This ludicrous claim clearly reveals the deception of which
Darwinist logic rests.
Conclusion:
The Darwinist dictatorship is now in a hopeless position. They are at
a loss how to resurrect the deceased Darwin and his ideas. They are
trying to retrieve the position in astate of despair and panic. They
are therefore prepared to risk ridicule and espousing nonsensical
claims to that end. That is how Darwinism has collapsed and been
defeated in the 21st century. Ardi has again made that collapse and
rout crystal clear. Darwinists have had to retract all their claims
concerning Ardi, and have now realized that they can no longer deceive
people as they used to in the past. False fossils that used to be
displayed in museums for 40 years are now being exposed for what they
really are, and frauds now have a life span of only a few days, or
even hours. Darwinists' efforts to bring evolution back to life with
false fossils are all in vain. Darwinists themselves now see and admit
this.

Darwinists who fail to grasp the wisdom behind the creation of imperfections by Allah, al-Badi

"Badi" , is one of the names of Almighty Allah. It means "HE WHO
CREATES UNIQUE AND ASTONISHING WORLDS."
Some people are unable to grasp this almighty title of our Lord's.
Othersignore it, despite havingunderstood it. They seek ways of
denial. Allah describes the situation of such people in verses:
And they repudiated them wrongly and haughtily, in spite of their own
certainty about them. See the final fate of the corrupters. (Surat
an-Naml, 14)
Mankind! An example has been made, so listen to it carefully. Those
whom you call upon besides Allah are not even able to create a single
fly, even if they were to join together to do it. And if a fly steals
something from them, they cannot get it back. How feeble are both the
seeker and the sought! They do not measure Allah with His true
measure. Allah is All-Strong, Almighty. (Surat al-Hajj, 73-74)
Those who are unable toproperly appreciate Allah's might constantly
fall into the same error. Instead of producing evidence to support
their own claims (as theydo not actually possess one shred of evidence
tosupport those claims), they presume to look forflaws in our Lord's
wondrous and sublime Creation (surely Allah is beyond that). The
people who do this are generally atheists and Darwinists who set out
with the aim of denying Allah. With the advent ofthe 21st century,
Darwinists experienced the worst defeat in their 150-year history. It
was in this century that the whole world realized that there are
millions ofproofs of Creation BUT NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE FOR
EVOLUTION. People have learned during these years that they have been
deceivedever since school. They have encountered real scientific
evidence for the first time and seen that all the more than 250
million glorious fossils all point to the fact of Creation.
This great defeat has inspired such panic and despair among Darwinists
that the adherents of evolution have sought to retrieve the situation
with a counter-attack based on lies and deceit. Programsabout
evolution on the television and Darwinist journals try to
neutralizetheir defeat by constantly raising the same subject. What
they maintain is this: that living things are not flawless.
It will be of use to repeatone very important point that we have
already set out many times in the past: of course living things are
not flawless. But what Darwinists refuse to understand is this; in
thesame way that living things have been created with an
extraordinarily complex and flawless perfection, the secrets of which
human beings have not been able to unravel, so their flaws have also
been specially created. By creating their imperfections, our Lord
shows that He has the power to create whatever entity He wishes as
flawless and asbeautiful as he wishes. Flaws are a reminder that this
world is a temporary place of test. By creating flaws, our Lord shows
that the life of this world is not the true aim of life, and that
perfection exists only in the Hereafter, in Paradise. Allah, Who
flawlessly creates ever more glorious worlds with an extraordinary
perfection and beauty, has of course the power create all things
equally flawless. Because Almighty Allah is the Lord of all the
worlds, and flawless creation belongs to Him alone. Hisartistry is
breathtaking, and full of glory.
If human beings were created perfect in this world they could never
know the secret of the test, or that they had to be the servants of
Allah, and would never strive to earn His approval and Paradise. This
world would suffice for someone possessed of perfections in it, and no
longing for the Hereafter would ever arise. There is a special wisdom
in the way that although many living things are never with disease,
are highly resistant to even the most extraordinary conditions, and
that flowers smell lovely wherever they are, while none of these
things develop to perfection in human beings. People draw closer to
Allah by seeing their own weaknesses; they see the true nature of the
life of this world and strive to draw closerto Him in order to attain
the Paradise created by Allah, the sole Lord of all perfection. People
who know their weaknesses do not become proud and arrogant (surely
Allah is beyond that). It iscertain that Almighty Allah, Lord of the
Worlds, will create every entity in the most perfect, flawless and
immaculate form in the Hereafter. That Creation will of course take
place by Almighty Allah simply telling them to "Be!" As our Lord says
in the Qur'an:
Have they not seen how Allah brings Creation outof nothing, then
reproduces it? That is easy for Allah. Say: "Travel about the earth
and see how He broughtCreation out of nothing. Then later Allah will
bring about the next existence. Allah has power over all things."
(Surat al-'Ankabut, 19-20)
Since Darwinists are unaware of this great truth, they make themselves
ridiculous by coming up with the mostnonsensical claims. Of course,
they themselves are perfectly well aware that these claims are untrue
and invalid. They themselves witness Allah's immaculate creative
artistry. But their lack of a single piece of scientific evidence,
their helpless position and the panic caused by their defeat impel
them to offer such forced and nonsensical statements.
Adnan Oktar Has Discussed the Wisdom behind Human Imperfections:
PRESENTER: Yes, we have a question. "We look at the plants and animals
innature, and they are always perfectly clean, despite living in mud
and earth and being unable to wash with soap, but human beings are not
like that. Why is it that man has been created with such weakness,
despite beinga more important and complex life form?" ...
ADNAN OKTAR : The weaker people are, the more perfect the test, and
the more it draws them closer to Allah. For example, if Allah so
wished he could make human beings' breath asdelightful as flowers. He
could make our breath smell like flowers or roses.
Allah could have bestowed the force in the rose to human beings'
breath. Our breath could have smelled of roses. We might have had no
need to wash, and could have remained spotless all thetime. Or we
could have stayed stainless like steel. But Allah did this on purpose.
Note how there are imperfections everywhere in the human body. The ear
has one weakness, the eye another, and they have all been specially
created. I was walking past a perfumery one day and thought to myself
what a lot of scents and perfumes andvarious substances therewere.
Allah create them in tiny glass bottles and packaged them up, and that
is how He shows them to us in our brains.
Had He so wished, Allah could also have created such perfumes in our
bodies. But He did not. He did exactly the opposite. Allah could
produce a lovely scent inthe arm pit, if He so wished. Because He
creates delightful aromas in all plants, in the weakest tulip, the
carnation or the violet . But Allah has deliberately not done that, so
that people should long for Paradise.Otherwise, there would have been
the risk of our not longing for Paradise. The more people see their
own imperfections, so their desire for Paradise will grow. Because we
have an idea of perfect music in our minds, yet we can never find it.
REPORTER : Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR : We constantly buy CDs and tapes, but we can never find
the music we seek. Neither can we find the scent we seek.
REPORTER : Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR : That is in our subconscious. There is a perfect house,
for example. But if we go to a palace we do not like it, and we say,
"I wish we could go home." Don't we?
REPORTER : Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR : We do notlike any of them in that sense. Because since
we have been created for Paradise that idea of Paradise and eternity
is a very powerful instinct in our subconscious. The instinct for
eternal life is the most instinct in human beings, and the only one
that cannot be satisfied. It is an instinct bestowed because it cannot
be satisfied. We are given the instinct to eat, and that is satisfied.
They are all satisfied, with the exception of the instinct for eternal
life. Just think what people would do if they thought they would never
die, despite the brevity of this life. ( FromAdnan Oktar's interview
on Kanal 35 TV on 18 January, 2009… )
Have they not reflected within themselves? Allah did not create the
heavens and the Earth and everything betweenthem except with truth and
for a fixed term. Yet many people reject the meeting with their Lord.
(Surat ar-Rum, 8)

Humility – A Quality of theIdeal

Allaah The Almighty describes thebelievers in their namesake chapter,
Saying (what means): {Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of
their Lord * And they who believe in the signs of their Lord *And they
who do not associate anything with their Lord * And they who give what
they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be
returning to their Lord.} [Quran 23:57-60] One may wonderwhat it is
that those believers fear, even though they hasten to do good deeds
and seek to outdoothers in that respect.
And yet, our amazement would increase when we consider the similar
response of Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, when their
intercession will be sought. The Prophet related that, on the Day of
Judgment, people "will go to Aadam (Adam) and say, 'O our father, ask
for Paradise to be opened to us.' He will say, 'Did anything get you
out of Paradise other than the sinof your father, Aadam? I am not in a
position to [intercede]; you should go to my son Ibraaheem (Abraham)
the intimate friend of Allaah.' [But, when they will come to him],
Ibraaheem willsay, 'I am not in a position to do that. Verily, I was
but a far friend;you should approach Moosa (Moses) to whom Allaah The
Almighty spoke directly.' They will go to Moosa, but he will say, 'It
is not my place; you should go to Jesus, the Word of Allaah and His
Spirit.' However, Jesus will say, 'I am not in a position todo that.'
Therefore, they will come to [me], Muhammad and [I] will be permitted
[to intercede]." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
This honorable response of the Prophets, may Allaah exalt their
mention, during those momentous circumstances, indicates their
continuous longing to increase in acts of worship and their tireless
efforts to quit minor sins. This stance of theirs marks their keenness
to perfect their servitude to Allaah The Almighty. What a sublime
characteristic for a soul to alwayslong for the loftiest of ranks!
Such souls would never be satisfied with attaining a status lower than
their abilities; that is why Abu Bakr for instance, aimed to enter
Paradise from all its gates.
What is humility?
Being humble is to be aware of one's sins and feel regret for one's
shortcomings, as Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Lest a soul
should say, "Oh [howgreat is] my regret over what I neglected in
regard to Allaah}. [Quran 39: 56] And this characteristic of humility,
increases with knowledge, as Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):
{Only those fear Allaah, from among His servants, who have knowledge}
[Quran 35:28].
To attain humility, one must reproach and endeavor to improve
him/herself; indeed, Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {He has
succeeded who purifies it [soul]} [Quran 91:9] It is such piety and
sincerity that acceptance of good deeds is contingent on, as Allaah
The Almighty Says (what means): {Surely Allaah [graciously]
acceptsonly of the pious.} [Quran 5:28] Also, the Prophet said, "The
[acceptance of] deeds [is] dependent on the intentions, anda person
will bear the consequences of what he [or she]intends…" Without piety
and sincerity, the charity of the charitable, the knowledge of the
reciters of the Quran and the martyrdom of the martyrs would be
fruitless; moreover, those whose deeds lack devotion, will be the
first to enter Hell.
Abu Ayyoob As-Sikhtiyaani used to humbly say, "By Allaah, I cannot
allege that I have a deed that I am certain that I have
donesincerely"; Ath-Thahabi, another pious man, would concur.
Similarly, Sulaymaan ibn Mahraan Al-'A'mash said, "By Allaah, I
believe that I have become blearyeyed, because the devil urinates in
my ears frequently." This refersto the saying of the Prophet who
remarked that a man who sleeps all night long is one in whose ears
Satan has urinated. What is amazing is that Sulaymaan made that
comment, even though he was keen on praying at night.
Being humble is to remember theHereafter often, dislike worldly
pleasures and be keen on attaining salvation. 'Umar used to say, "How
could you forget the Quranic verse in which Allaah The Almighty [tells
us what will be said to those entering Hell] (that means): {You
exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them}
[Quran 46:20]?" He understood this also from the Prophet who once
asked him, "Are you not pleased with this division that they [i.e.,
the disbelievers] enjoy the luxuries ofthis life, and we reap the
fruits ofthe Hereafter?"
And, it is of humbleness, to be fearful of, more than being hopeful
about, that Day, and be certain of what will happen when {He may
question the truthful about their truth} [Qur'an 33:8], {secrets will
be put on trial} [Qur'an 86:9], and when every treacherous person
would be known by a sign. On that Day, {their excuse will not benefit
the wrongdoers and they will have the curse and the worst home}
[Qur'an 40:52], and, {there will appear to them from Allaah The
Exalted what they had not taken into account.} [Qur'an 39:47].
And,Allaah The Almighty will say to the wrongdoers (what means),
{Remain despised therein [Hell] and do not speak to Me.} [Quran
23:108]
This is the true understanding of religion, because {no one feels
secure from the plan of Allaah except the people of loss.} [Quran7:99]
Thus, Imaam Al-Bukhaari entitled a chapter of his book, Saheeh
Al-Bukhaari, "The believer's fear of having his deedsannulled, while
being unaware".
Ibraaheem At-Taymiyya said, "I never compared my deeds to my words
without fearing that I was a liar." This was in the spirit of the
Companions as Ibn Abi Mulaykah narrates that of the thirty of them
that he had met, each one feared that he might be a hypocrite. None of
them claimed to be as faithful as Jibreel (Gabriel) and Mikaa'eel
(Michael) .
Indeed, that was characteristic ofbelievers, as Al-Hasan said, that
the hypocrites, on the other hand, felt safe from this worry. A Muslim
must guard against insistence on hypocrisy and disobedience without
repentance; Allaah The Almighty admires those, Saying (what means):
{[who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.} [Quran
3:135]
Humility also requires of us to allyourselves with the believers and
be dutiful to them. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):
• {And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.} [Quran 26:215]
• {And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their
Lord in the morning and theevening, seeking His countenance. And let
not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly
life.} [Quran 18:28]
The people of Nooh (Noah) foolishly said to him: {We do not see you
but as a man like ourselves, and we do not see you followed except by
those who are the lowest of us [and] at first suggestion.} [Quran
11:27] But, herefuted their allegation, saying: {And I am not one to
drive away those who have believed. Indeed, they will meet their Lord,
but I see that you are a people behaving ignorantly. * And O my
people, who would protect me from Allaah if I drove them away? Then
will you not be reminded? [..] Nor do I say of those upon whom your
eyes look down that Allaah will never grant them any good. Allaah is
most knowing of what is within their souls. Indeed, I would then be
among the wrongdoers.} [Quran 11:29-31]
Further, humility necessitates good manners on the believer's part,
which manifests in his or her overall conduct. The Prophet said,
"Arrogance is denying the truth and the rights of others" ; he also
cautioned, "It is enough sin for a person to despise his Muslim
brother."
Hence, it is a religious obligation upon Muslims to act cordially with
their fellow brothers and sisters in faith, such as by returning their
greetings, assisting them in mounting their ride and meeting them with
a cheerful countenance.
And, because they observed theseetiquettes perfectly, the righteous
predecessors were described by Allaah The Almighty as being "humble
toward the believers" [Qur'an 5:54], and "merciful among themselves"
[Qur'an 48:39]
Humility is also manifest in knowing one's real worth amongscholars
and his or her value, in comparison to them. Shaykh Ali Al-Qaari said,
"These days, [those who know little, but are respected as] scholars
are many, because true knowledge has declined."
Consider that the first ever to embrace Islam, Abu Bakr humbly refused
to lead the people in prayer, saying, "I could not lead the Prophet ."
Also, the son-in-law of the Prophet 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib would say to
his son Muhammad ibn Al-Hanafiyyah, "Your father is just one of the
Muslims."
Similarly, Al-Haafith Abu Al-HajjaajAl-Muzzi professed to ibn
Al-Haadi, when the latter tested his retention of Hadeeth by jumbling
their chains of narrators, "I am not qualified for such a test;
Al-Bukhaari is." Ibn Katheer remarked: "This answer was dearer to us
than matching each Hadeeth to its chain of narrators."
Also, when a man asked Al-Khateeb Al-Baghdaadi, "Are you Al-Haafith (a
senior scholar ofHadeeth) and Al-Khateeb (the orator)?" He answered,
"I amonly Ahmad ibn 'Ali ibn Thaabit; the last senior scholar of
Hadeethwas Ad-Daaraqutni."
The father of At-Taaj Al-Subky – At-Taqqiyy Al-Subky – who was then
the scholar of Daar Al-Ashrafiyyah, used to perform the night prayers
where Imaam An-Nawawi used to hold his classes. He would humbly wipe
his face in the place where An-Nawawi had stood, as an acknowledgement
of the latter's great role as a scholar.
Furthermore, humility is to show due respect towards Allaah The
Almighty and thank Him for all that He has granted us. Allaah The
Almighty praised His Prophet Ibraaheem as he used to feelremorse for
his sins and acts of disobedience.
A believing man is sharp and wise; he recognizes that he is buta
servant of Allaah The Almighty; his deeds are created by Him, his
success contingent on His decree and his progress is thanks to His
guidance.
Thus, the slogan of the Companions would be: "By Allaah, without
Allaah we would have received no guidance, nor given in charity, nor
prayed." They learned this spirit from the Prophet who said to
'Aa'ishah when she inquired why he stood in prayer for so long that
his feet would swell: "Should I not be a grateful slave of Allaah?"
May Allaah have mercy upon Al-Junayd, who succinctly said, "True
gratitude is to avoid using the blessings of Allaah The Almighty to
disobey Him." - - ▓███▓ Translator:->

White Lies: Are They Permissible?

Many take the permission of the Prophet to lie in three exceptional
cases in the wrong way as a justification for white lies. The Prophet
said: "A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst
people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys
good." [Muslim]
Commenting on this Hadeeth, IbnShihaab, one of the transmitters, said
that he has not heard that the exemption was granted with regard to
the typical lies that people tell but in three cases: In war in order
to cause reconciliation among people and in the narration of the words
of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife
to her husband (in a euphemistic way in order to cause reconciliation
between them).
Some may take this as a license to take truthfulness lightly and tell
what they think to be white, harmless lies. The case is the opposite.
What people misunderstand is the Arabic usage of the word `kadhib.' In
particular in the Prophet's usage of it `kadhib' means anything less
than the complete truth, even if it is not a lie in our ordinary usage
of the term. This becomes clear in the following Hadeeth narrated by
Muslim:
The Prophet said: "Ibraaheem never `lied' except in three cases, two
for Allaah, when he said [as an excuse when asked byhis people to join
them in celebration of their idols] `I am sick'; and [when they came
back and asked who broke their idols, he said] `Rather, it was the
biggest among them who did that.' And the third was about Saarah, and
that was his saying: `When he asks you, say you are my sister, because
you are my sister in Islam.' [Muslim]
Imaam an-Nawawi explains that these lies were "lies only with regard
to the understanding of their immediate audience, but not in and of
themselves." Ibraaheem indeed was "sick"of their idol-worship, and his
response that it was the biggest idol who broke the rest was simply a
rhetorical ploy, which is not ordinarily considered a lie in our
speech. For instance, when a friend sees you sipping on a cup of tea
and asks, "What are you doing?" and you say: "What do you think? I am
flying in the air"—that is not a lie, but a rhetorical expression to
convey your annoyance. The Prophet Ibraaheem made this clear inthe
third example by adding that Saarah was his sister "in Islam," for
she, indeed, was. But the Prophet still called it a lie because it was
less than the whole truth.
The scholars of Islam agree, reports Imaam an-Nawawi, that a Muslim is
permitted, indeed, required, to hide an innocent or wrongly persecuted
person from oppressors, and if he must lie in this pursuit, he can.
But even in such cases, lying should be avoided if possible. Abu Bakr
al-Siddeeq the most truthful manof the 'Ummah who accompaniedthe
Prophet on his flight to Madeenah, was accosted by an acquaintance of
his who did not know the Prophet by face buthad probably heard of the
Makkan search for him. He asked Abu Bakr about his companion, to which
Abu Bakr said: "He is my guide. He shows me the way." Abu Bakr didnot
lie even in such dire circumstances, but simply equivocated.
The case of "lying" allowed for a husband speaking to his wife (or
vice versa) is similar. When a wifeasks her husband if he loves her or
thinks she looks beautiful, the answer is not always clear even to the
husband. Depending on hisstate of mind and their relationship, the
woman who looks perfectly beautiful and loveable to him most of the
time might look not so at the moment. Especially, when influenced by
Satan's whispers, one's wife often looks less attractive than other
women, even if the opposite is true.
Since the usual standard of truthfulness in Islam is so meticulous and
high, the husband is allowed to say what pleases her or helps
reconcile herheart, even if at that moment he does not feel exactly
that way.
Saying that he loves his wife is likely in fact to recall in his mind
what he loves about her and bring happiness and incite more love in
her heart. Thus, the statements made to please one's spouse are not,
strictly speaking,"lying" in our ordinary usage.
With this exception, lying to one's spouse in any other situation or
any other way is as prohibited and despised as in anyother. A
relationship built on lies cannot last for very long, let alone be
blessed with "mercy" and "love" that Allaah promises to place between
spouses [Quran 30:21].
Finally, take the case of war. War is fought to overcome and often
destroy the other side. But even in this situation, the rule in the
Quran is to never deceive in principle. People often misunderstand
what the Prophet famously said, namely, that"War is khud'ah
(stratagem)." Khud'ah is stratagem, a tactical maneuver to mislead the
enemy. It is not treachery, deception, or breach of agreement, which
would be khiyaanah, and Allaah emphatically prohibits that.
Allaah Almighty Says (what means): {If you fear treachery (khiyaana)
from any group, openly throw back (their covenant) to them, (so as to
be) on equal terms: for Allaah loves not the treacherous.} [Quran
8:58]
Imagine the level of integrity required, such that even when you fear
the enemy's breach of treaty and attack, you do not simply
unilaterally end the treaty and attack them, but, rather, let your
enemy know that the treaty is over.
What the Quran and Hadeeth teach us is that the requirement in Islam
of truthfulness and integrity is so high and the agreement between our
outsidesand insides must be so meticulous that even equivocation,
telling half the truth, and evading the straightforward fact is termed
as kadhib, a lie. Under normal circumstances, such differences between
one's words and true feelings would be considered lying, but they are
allowed in uniquely exceptional circumstances.

Physical inactivity kills 5 million a year: report

A third of the world's adults are physically inactive, and the couch
potato lifestyle kills about five million people every year,
expertssaid in the medical journal The Lancet on Wednesday.
"Roughly three of every 10 individuals aged 15 years or older-- about
1.5 billion people -- do not reach present physical activity
recommendations," they said in a report that described the problem as
a "pandemic."
The picture for adolescents is even more worrying, with four out of
five 13- to 15-year-olds not moving enough, it said.
Physical inactivity was described for the study as failing to do 30
minutes of moderate physical activity five times a week, 20 minutes of
vigorous activity threetimes a week, or a combination of the two.
Inactivity increases with age, is higher in women than in men, and
more prevalent in high-income countries, the researchers found.
A second study, comparing physical activity levels with population
statistics on diseases like diabetes, heart problems andcancer, said
lack of exercise claimed more than 5.3 million of the 57 million
deaths worldwide in 2008.
It said inactivity was a risk factor comparable to smoking or obesity.
Lack of exercise causes an estimated six percent of coronaryheart
disease cases, seven percent of type 2 diabetes (the most common form)
and 10 percent of breast and colon cancers, it said.
The human body needs exercise to help the bones, muscles, heartand
other organs function optimally, but populations are walking, running
and cycling less and less as they spend more timein cars and in front
of computers,the investigators said.
The Lancet series called for globalefforts to promote physical
exercise by improving pedestrian and cyclist safety on city roads, for
example, more physical education at school or promotingaccess to free
public exercise spaces.

The significance of fasting

Fasting, is abstaining from eating, drinking and coitus from daybreak
to sunset as a devotional ritual. Allaah, the Almighty Says in the
Noble Quran (what means):
"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was
decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous." [Quran;
2:183] That is: that you may fear Allaah, keep away from His
prohibitions, and fulfill His Commands. Prophet Muhammad said: "
Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allaah is not
in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept
hisfasting.)" [Al-Bukhaari]
This means that Allaah does not want us to abstain from eating and
drinking only, rather, He wants us to refrain from evil deeds and
vileness too. The Prophet instructed that a fasting person, if
offended or abused, should say: "I am fasting." [Al-Bukhaari] By
this, as though the fasting person says:"It is because I am fasting I
do not return your abuses." The offender at that point may feel
embarrassed, and desist.
What is the purpose of Fasting?
The purpose of fasting is not physical training to endure hunger,
thirst and exhaustion; rather, it is disciplining the ego to
relinquish the loved for the sake of the Beloved. The loved arethe
desires of eating, drinking, sexual activities etc., while the Beloved
is Allaah, the Exalted. Hence, it is imperative to keep in mind when
we observe fasting that we do so only for the sake ofAllaah. It
becomes imperative on us to try our best to observe the rites that
reflect our obedience toAllaah, such as the remembrance of Allaah,
reading the Quran, supererogatory prayers, charitable deeds and
donations, good manners, etc.
Fasting has great significances and aims, which, if carefully
considered, instill in us much surprise. Among these significances, we
mention the following:
First significance:
Fasting is linked with true faith inAllaah, the Most Exalted; that is
why it has been reported that fasting is a secret act of worship since
a person may break his fast,if he wishes, by eating, drinking or
simply by not making the intention to fast (in which case his fast
will not be accepted even if he remains fasting the whole day).
Fasting, then, is a hearty, secret worship that concerns only the
servant and his Creator. When the servant knowingly gives up the
things and acts that nullify the fast, despite his ability to reach
them in secret, he gives indeed strong evidence of his certain belief
that Allaah, the Almighty, watches over him in both his manifest and
secret deeds. There is no doubt that in this kind of conduct is a
significant training to strengthenfaith in Allaah.
Second significance:
Fasting is also training for the servant to aspire to the Hereafter
since, by fasting, he gives up some of the worldly matters, looking
forward to Almighty Allaah's reward. By observing the fast, he weighs
the profit in terms of the condition in the Hereafter. However, those
who measure things in materialistic terms are only concerned with the
worldly aspect of fasting. As aresult, they think of it as merely
deprivation of the pleasures of life, which please the self and
satisfy the body. They are not in the least concerned with the other
aspect of its significance in the hereafter that constitutes thereal
reward and the genuine perpetuity. This attitude of their hearts
weakens their aspiration for the hereafter and its eternal enjoyment.
Third significance:
Fasting is a practical embodimentof submission and servitude to
Allaah, the Exalted, that the servant manifests by eating and drinking
at night only in responseto the call of his Lord, Allaah WhoSays in
the Noble Quran (what means): " And eat and drink until the white
thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from theblack thread [of
night]." [Quran; 2:187]. That is why the fasting Muslim should eat at
Iftaar (breakfast) time, at sunset, and just before dawn (Suhoor, or
the per-dawn meal) because continuous fasting (day and night) is
forbidden in Sharee'ah (Islamic law).
The act of eating is, therefore, a form of worship of Allaah, the
Almighty. When dawn starts, Muslims discontinue eating and drinking
(and having sex with their spouses) in compliance withAllaah's order,
for He Says (what means): "…Then complete the fast until the night
[i.e. sunset]." [Quran; 2:187]. In this way, the Muslim is educated
about complete servitude to Allaah, the Most High, in such a way that
when his Lord commands, he complies. It is, therefore, not simply a
matter of personal taste, whim and disposition, but a matter of
obedience to Allaah and implementation of His Commands.
Fourth significance:
Fasting is similarly a form of education to the whole society since
when the fasting Muslim feels that people around him are all fasting,
he finds fast no longerdifficult, but feels that he is in harmony with
the society to which he belongs through worship, the unifying factor
of the whole community. Whoever compares voluntary fasting to the
obligatory fast in the month of Ramadhaan perceives a
certaindifficulty in the former and easiness in the latter due to the
aforementioned reasons. That is why Muslims find it very difficult to
spend the month of Ramadhaan away from Muslim environments.

- Acts of Worship, - The prostration of everything in the universe to Allaah .

It says in Soorat al-Hajj 22:18 that the dawaab (moving living
creatures, beasts, etc.) prostrate to Allaah. What is the nature of
this prostration?
Praise be to Allaah.
Note that this universe and all the created beings in it is in thrall
to Allaah, whether by choice or by force. The believer worships Allaah
by choice and is rewarded for his worship. Even though the kaafir may
be alienated from his Lord and failing to worship Him, the atoms of
his body and everything in him is worshipping Him and glorifying Him,
but because our understanding and perception are limited, we are
unaware of that tasbeeh (glorification of Allaah) and unable to
understand its nature. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him
and there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise. But you understand
not their glorification. Truly, He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving"
[al-Isra' 17:44]
What this means is that every created being is ina state of submission
to Allaah and worships Him in a manner appropriateto its situation.
The sun, moon, stars, trees and animals are all in a state of
subjugation to Allaah and prostrate to Him, and all of them worship
Him in an appropriate manner. Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):
"See you not that whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the
earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains,
and the trees, and Ad-Dawaabb [moving (living) creatures, beasts], and
many of mankind prostrate themselves to Allaah. But there are many
(men) on whom the punishment is justified. And whomsoever Allaah
disgraces, none can honour him. Verily, Allaah does what He wills"
[al-Hajj 22:18]
"Have they not observed things that Allaah has created: (how) their
shadows incline to the right and to the left, making prostration
untoAllaah, and they are lowly?
And to Allaah prostrate all that is in the heavens and all that is in
the earth, of the moving (living) creatures and the angels, and they
are not proud [i.e. they worship their Lord (Allaah) with humility]"
[al-Nahl 16:48-49]
Imaam Ibn Katheer said: Allaah is telling us of His Might, Majesty and
Pride, for everything submits to Him and all things andcreatures humble
themselves before Him, inanimate objects and animals, and those which
are accountable among mankind and thejinn, and the angels. Allaah
tells us that everything that has a shadow that inclines towards the
right and towards the left – i.e., morning and evening – prostrates to
Allaah. Mujaahid said: When thesun passes its zenith everything
prostrates to Allaah.
Allaah has confirmed that all beings prostrate to Him, and He has
explained how some of them prostrate, which is by the inclining of its
shadow towards the right and the left. It doesnot mean that everything
prostrates onseven parts of the body; that applies only to the
Muslims. The prostration of all other beings is in accordance with
their nature. The fact that this prostration is prostration in the
real sense is indicated by the apparent meaning of the text, because
there isno valid reason for not interpreting the text as it appears to
be, so we must accept it. That is also supported by the fact that the
prostration of the sun, moon, stars, trees and animals is mentioned in
conjunction with the prostration of the angelsand humans, which
indicates that this is prostration in a real sense for all the
entities mentioned. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have
mercy on him) said:
Prostration is a form of humility, so the prostration which includes
all creatures implies the utmost submission and humility. For every
created thing submits to His greatness and humbles itself before His
might and power. This does not mean that everything prostrates like
human beings do, on seven parts of the body, putting the forehead on
the ground. This kind of prostration is only for human beings. Some
other nations bow but do not prostrate, and that is their prostration.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
'and enter the gate in prostration (or bowing with humility) and say:
"Forgive us"'
[al-Baqarah 2:58]
It was said that this means enter it bowing, and some of them
prostrate on their sides like the Jews. Sujood (prostration) is a
genericterm but because the way in which Muslims prostrate is so well
known, many people think that this is how everything prostrates.
Jaami' al-Rasaa'il, 1/27
And he said:
It is known that everything prostrates according to its nature, and
the prostration of these created entities does not mean that they put
their foreheads on the ground.
Majmoo' al-Fataawa, 21/284
This prostration includesthe submission and humbling of these created
entities to Allaahand their surrendering to His Lordship, Might and
Sovereignty. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said:
"It is the prostration of humility and submission, for everything
submits to His Lordship, humbles itself before His Might and is
subject to His Sovereignty."
Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 1/107
The prostration of these created entities is a prostration in a real
sense as befits each of these entities. So man prostrates in the
mannerthat suits him, in the manner that is well known, on seven parts
of the body. The sun prostrates in the mannerthat suits it, as
mentioned in the saheehhadeeth of Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased
with him) who said: "The Prophet (peace andblessings of Allaah be upon
him) said to Abu Dharr when the sun had set, 'Do you know whereit
went?' I said, 'Allaah and His Messenger knowbest.' He said, 'It has
gone to prostrate beneath the Throne, then it asks for permission to
rise, but soon it will prostrate and its prostration will not be
accepted, and it will ask for permission to rise and that will not be
granted to it, and it will be said to it, "Go back from whence you
came," and it will rise from the west. This is what Allaah says:
"And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is
the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing"
[Yaa-Seen 36:38].'"
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3199)
So it prostrates in a real sense, as is suited to the sun, but how
does it prostrate to Allaah beneath the Throne? Allaah knows best how
this prostration happens. The apparent meaning of the hadeeth proves
that what this prostration means is not simply submission to the
command of Allaah and obedience to Him. Indeed, it is submission,
humility and surrender by prostrating in a real sense, but we do not
understand how it happens. Similarly it is said that the moon, the
trees, the animals and allother entities prostrate in a manner that
suits them. What the believer should do is not to let the fact that he
does not know how some entitiesprostrate prevent him from believing in
this prostration, rather he must believe in what Allaah has told him
about other entities prostrating to Him.

- Acts of Worship, - Is it permissible to offer a sacrifice in gratitude to Allaah for a specific blessing?.

Is it permissible for a person who has bought a car or a house to
offer a sacrifice in gratitude to Allaah?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
The blessings that Allaah bestows upon people are many, and His bounty
and generosity towards them are vast. Ablessing can only be responded
to by giving thanks and appreciating it. Allaah, may He be glorified
and exalted, has enjoined giving thanks to Him, for He is Appreciative
and loves those who give thanks.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"So eat of the lawful andgood food which Allaah has provided for you.
And be grateful for the Graces of Allaah, if it is He Whom you
worship"
[al-Nahl 16:144]
"seek your provision from Allaah (Alone), and worship Him (Alone), and
be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be brought back"
[al-'Ankaboot 29:17]
Part of being grateful to Allaah is seeking to drawcloser to Him by
means of different kinds of acts of worship and to endear oneself to
Him bymeans of good deeds such as prayer, zakaah, fasting and so on.
Another part of being grateful to Allaah is giving thanks to Him by
means of sacrifice rituals, which means offering a sacrifice for the
sake of Allaah.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in
his commentary on the verse "Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and
sacrifice (to Him only)" [al-Kawthar 108:2]:
What is meant is that prayer and sacrifice are the best of the things
by means of which one maydraw closer to Allaah, and the usage of the
word fa (translated here as "therefore") points to the reason, i.e.,
doing that – prayer and sacrifice – in gratitude for that which Allaah
hasgiven him of al-Kawthar (a river in Paradise) and much goodness. So
he should give thanks to the One Who has blessedhim and worship Him,
and the two greatest types of worship are these two acts of worship;
indeed, prayer is the ultimate act of worship. It is as if He is
saying to him: We have given you al-Kawthar and a great deal of
goodness, and We have blessed you with that because you have been
doing these two acts of worship in gratitude for Our blessing to you;
these are the reasons why We have bestowed these blessings upon you,
so do these two things for Us, for prayer and sacrifice are surrounded
by blessings that come before them and after them. The best financial
act of worship is sacrifice and the best physical act of worship
isprayer, and the benefits that a slave of Allaah may gain from prayer
cannot be compared to any other type of worship, as is known bythose
whose hearts are alive and those of high aspirations. Adding to it the
benefits of offering sacrifice, which is a sign of devotion to Allaah
and thinking positively of Him, and having strong certainty and faith
about that which isin the hand of Allaah is something wonderful, if
that is accompanied by faith and sincerity. The Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) obeyed the command of his Lord and
prayed and sacrificed a great deal toHim; he even sacrificed
sixty-three camels with his own hand during theFarewell Pilgrimage,
andhe used to offer sacrifices on the Eids andat other times. End
quote.
Majmoo' al-Fataawa 916/532).
If Allaah bestows a great blessing upon a person –and all His blessing
are great – then it is mustahabb for him to give thanks to Allaah for
it by showing kindness to people, so he should offer a sacrifice and
make food and invite hisbrothers and friends, and give charity to
thosewho are in need.
It says in al-Mawsoo'ah al-Fiqhiyyah (26/180-181):
It is mustahabb to give thanks anew when new blessings come, by
speaking words of praise. Gratitude for thatmay also be expressed by
doing acts of worship, which includes offering a sacrifice or inviting
people to a meal. The fuqaha' have mentioned the kinds of meals that
may be offered when blessing are renewed, such as thewakeerah which is
madefor a new home, or naqee'ah which is made on the return of an
absent loved one, and hidhaaq which is done when a child completes a
reading of the Qur'aan.
The view of the Hanbalis, the more correct view among the Shaafa'is, is
that these meals are mustahabb.
Ibn Qudaamah said: These invitations – otherthan the wedding feast
(waleemah) and 'aqeeqah – are something good, but they are like
invitations that are given for no reason; if the person who does them
intends thereby to give thanks to Allaah for His blessing and to feed
his brothers and offer food, then he will have the reward for that in
sha Allaah. End quote.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:
If one of my children does well in school, is it permissible for me to
offer a sacrifice to celebrate his success, and to give thanks to
Allaah?
He replied:
There is nothing wrong with making food (waleemah) if the children or
one of them succeeds, and inviting one's loved ones and his child's
friends, to celebrate Allaah's blessing and to encourage the child.
Endquote.
Liqaa'aat al-Baab il-Maftooh (no. 161, question no. 1).
Secondly:
It is essential to beware of some beliefs which many people hold, and
say that in order to protect the new house or car it is essential to
offer a sacrifice and sprinkle it with the blood of the
slaughteredanimal, or that evil spirits will not keep away from you
unless you do that, otherwise the blessing will soon dissipate. hese
are jaahili beliefs which do not come from someone who believes in
Allaah ashis Lord Who possesses all powers to bring benefit or cause
harm, inWhose hand is the creation and the commandment, and knows that
it is not permissible to do acts of worship unless they are done for
the sake of Allaah.
The scholars of the Standing Committee were asked about the belief
held by many people, that offering a sacrifice on the threshold of the
new house before entering it is one of the most important means of
warding off the evil eye, and making the house blessed, and avoiding
calamities and undesirable events.
They replied:
If this custom – i.e., offering a sacrifice on the threshold of the
newhouse – is done in order to placate the jinn and ward off
calamities and undesirable events, thenit is a haraam custom, and is
in fact shirk. This is what seems to be the case with offering the
sacrifice before enteringthe house, and doing it on the threshold in
particular.
But if the intention is to honour one's new neighbours and get to know
them, and to give thanks to Allaah for the blessing of a new home, and
to honour one's relatives and friends on this occasion, and to show
them the house, then this is good and theone who does it is to be
praised for his action. But that is only usually done after the people
have moved into the house, and not before, and the animal or animals
should not be slaughtered on the threshold of the house or in the
entryway to thehouse. End quote.

- Acts of Worship, - I want to be a devoted slave of Allaah… ten pointers.

My question is short. I want to enter Paradise, Iwant to strive to
control my self (my nafs), I want to kiss my mother's handevery day, I
want to keep away from whims and desires and from theShaytaan, I want
Allaah to call me a devoted slave on the Day of Resurrection, in sha
Allaah, I want to love my brothers, and I want my faith to keep
increasing. What should I do?.
Praise be to Allaah.
We ask Allaah to make you steadfast in adhering to the truth, and to
make your hopes come true, and to make you one of those who turn to
Him and who know the truth, defend it and adhere to Islam.
The things you mention in your question indicate that you have a sound
and pure nature, and a great desire to achieve great things andto give
everyone his rights. These are great hopes that can be achieved
through faith, as it was narrated that Sufyaan al-Thawri said: Faith
is not wishes or pretence, rather it is what settles in the heart and
is proven by actions." So we will discuss the matter of faith and how
importantit is in becoming a devoted slave, pleasing and honouring
one's parents and achieving the victory of Paradise.
Whoever seeks to achieve great things has to stay up at night (worship).
Hence al-Fudayl said: "You hearts can never taste the sweetness of
faith until they shun worldly pleasures." And he also said, "If you
cannot pray qiyaam at night and fast during the day, then know that
you are deprived."
The sincere believer has a heart like a burning coal, hence it was
narrated by al-Haakim inhis Mustadrak and al-Tabaraani in his Mu'jam
with a saheeh isnaad that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him) said, "Faith wears out in your heart as clothes wear out,
so ask Allaah to renew the faith in your hearts."
The believer's heart may sometimes feel overwhelmed by clouds of sin.
This was portrayed to us by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him) when he said:"There is no heart that does not have clouds
like the clouds that coverthe moon. When the cloud covers it, it is
dark, and when the cloud moves away it shines." Narrated by
al-Tabaraaniin al-Awsat, and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani. So the
believer's heart is sometimes covered with a cloud and its light is
hidden, and it remains dark and lonely, but if he strives to increase
his store of faith and seeks the help of Allaah, that cloud goes away
and thelight in his heart starts toshine again. Hence one of the salaf
said: "It is part of a person's smartness to c heck on his faith and
be aware of what affects it." It is also part of a person's smartness
"that he recognizes how the Shaytaan whispers to him."
So he has to come back to faith. If you come back to faith and do as
itrequires, then you will achieve what you want. We will tell you of a
basic principle which will let you know when faith is present and when
it is not. Imam Ibn al-Jawzi said: "O you who are turned away, O you
who are deprived ofmeeting your loved ones, if you want to know how
you stand before the king, then look at how you are spending your time
and what work you are assigned to do. How many people stand at the
door of the king, butno one enters except theone whom he cares for.
Not every heart is fit to draw close, not every heart can be filled
with love, not every wind is like the morning breeze."
If a person want to know how he stands before Allaah and how he stands
in relation to His commands and prohibitions, let him look at himself
and see what he is preoccupied with. If he is busy with da'wah and
with saving people from the Fire, striving to attain Paradise, helping
the weak and needy, honouring his parents, then let him rejoice in the
fact that he is close to the King of kings, for Allaah does not help
anyone to do good except those whom He loves.
But if he is has no interest in da'wah, dislikes the daa'iyahs and
does not do good things, if he is preoccupied with this world and its
gains, and with gossip and asking too many questions, whilst not doing
much or following his whims and desires, let him know that he is far
from Allaah and has been deprived of that which will bring him closer
to Paradise, because Allaah says in His holy Book (interpretation of
the meaning):
"Whoever desires the quick-passing (transitoryenjoyment of this
world), We readily grant him what We will for whom We like. Then,
afterwards, We have appointed for him Hell; he will burn therein
disgraced and rejected ( far away from Allaah's Mercy).
And whoever desires theHereafter and strives for it, with the
necessary effort due for it (i.e. does righteous deeds of Allaah's
obedience) while he is a believer (in the Oneness of Allaah Islamic
Monotheism) — then such are the ones whose striving shall be
appreciated, (thanked and rewarded by Allaah)"
[al-Isra' 17:18-19]
My brother, if you want to have a high position in all kinds of good
deeds, to be a devoted slave of Allaah and to honour your parents, and
you are seeking Paradise, then you have to do the following:
1 – You have to revive the faith in your heart. Faith is what will
bring the Muslim everything he seeks in this world and in the
Hereafter. Faith is the key to all goodness and locks the door to all
evil. The means of reviving and strengthening faith in one's heart are
many and varied, including doing a lot of acts of worship and
righteous deeds.
2 – You must turn to your Lord sincerely, as it says in the report:
"If My slave turns to me inwardly and outwardly,I will turn the hearts
of My slaves to him with love and mercy."
Allaah has made worshipthe ultimate aim and loftiest purpose of man:
"And I (Allaah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they
should worship Me (Alone)"
[al-Dhaariyaat 51:56 – interpretation of the meaning)]
3 – You should always set your sights on the highest degrees, and make
your goal in life to earn the pleasure of Allaah, and strive to attain
the victory of Paradise, or to attain thehighest Firdaws. You should
strive as hard as you can to achieve theselofty aims.
4 – You should follow the example of historicalMuslim figures such as
the Sahaabah, Taabi'eenand righteous forebears (the salaf).
5 – You should make the most of every minute, every moment and
everyheartbeat to use it in such a way as to increase your faith.
6 – You should try to keep company with righteous people, because the
Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,
"A man will follow the religion of his close friend, so let each one
of you look at whom he befriends." Narrated by Abu Dawood and
al-Tirmidhi with a hasan isnaad. Good friends are one of the best
means of helping you to obey Allaah and to avoid sin and error.
7 – Doing a lot of righteous deeds which will bring you happinessin
this world and in the Hereafter.
8 – Praying qiyaam al-layl, making du'aa' in the time just before
dawn. The feet of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) used to swell because of his desire to be a
thankful slave, even though Allaah had forgiven his previous and
future sins.
9 – Persisting in reading a portion of Qur'aan daily, and other dhikr
that helps you to think and ponder the meanings of the Qur'aan.
10 – Striving to spread the word and make da'wah for the sake of
Allaah, and working for Islam as much as possible.
If you want to reach the status of devoted slave for which you long,
thenbe as Allaah commandedHis Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him):
"Say (O Muhammad): Verily, my Salaah (prayer), my sacrifice, myliving,
and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the 'Aalameen (mankind, jinn
and all that exists)"
[al-An'aam 6:162]
Being a devoted slave of Allaah means declaring one's devotion and
belonging to the Lord, which can only be achieved by applying this
aayah, so that we are for Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds, in all our
affairs.
Being a devoted slave of Allaah can only be fully achieved in this
manner;it can only be achieved by worshipping Allaah inthe fullest
sense of the word, which means making our living and dying, and all
our movements, for Him alone. So we only speak that which is pleasing
to Allaah; we only do that which is pleasing to Allaah; we focus our
intention in these wordsand deeds only on Allaah. Worship should not
be reduced to merely raising and lowering our heads at certain times,
or giving afew pennies every once in a while, or fasting a few days
each year, or moving our lips to say a few words and dhikrs.
Hence the deeds that lead to this status – of being a devoted slave –
are innumerable and may take many shapes inall aspects of our lives
and the places where welive. This is by the bounty of Allaah towards
us and towards all people.
Just look, in every place where you find yourself and every moment
that comes to you, for that which will please Him, and what you think
He wants to see you doing, and do it. Then you will be a devoted
slave.
Finally, we ask Allaah to accept righteous deeds from us and from you,
and to gather us and you in His mercy with the Prophets, siddeeqs,
martyrs and righteous, and those are the best ofcompanions. - -

Imam Bukhari cured from blindness

Imam Bukhari, who was one of the greatest compilers of ahadith, became
blind at a youngage. He had recourse to many famous and skilleddoctors
of his time but their treatments made no difference. His mother was a
pious worshipper and a righteous woman. She cried out for help in the
court of Allah the Almighty, for her child and begged for the
restoration of his eyesight. At last, "the river of mercy flowed over
her," and Almighty Allah accepted her invocation. One night, she
visited Ibrahim alayhis-salam in a dreamand was told, "Allah has
restored the sight of your son because of your intense and beautiful
invocations." In the morning, as Imam Bukhari got up from his bed,
glimmers of light reached out into his eyes. That is, his eyesightwas
fully restored.

Make use of salah and dua to solve any problem that even the best
experts of this world cannot solve. Unfortunately, the Muslims are
turning away from these deeds today when they need them the most. We
pray for Allah to give us the true understading of Islam. - -
