*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dought & clear - Is it haraam for men to wear bracelets?

There are bracelets that are made of rubber, fabric, leather, threads
or metal; they may be coloured and have different designs on them, and
they are wornfor adornment only. They are not limited to women only
according to the custom of his people; rather they may be worn by both
men and women, as is the case in Egypt. Those whowear them may be
sportsmen or football fans or others, and no one regards them as
imitating women at all.
I hope that you will answer: is it halaal or haraam to wear these bracelets?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
Al-Bukhaari (5435) narrated that Ibn 'Abbaas (may Allah be pleased
with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah
be upon him) cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men.
According to a report also narrated by al-Bukhaari (5436), the Prophet
(blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed effeminate men and
masculinized women and he said: "Expel them from your houses."
From the two hadeeths quoted above, it is clear that it is haraam for
mento imitate women, and vice versa. The actions ofeffeminate men are
also forbidden; they are men who are effeminate in mannerisms and
appearance.
Al-Mubaarakpoori (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
That is, men who resemble women in fashions, clothing, using henna on
the hands and feet, voice, appearance, speech and all their movements.
End quote from Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi
Secondly:
Wearing bracelets, whether they are of the type mentioned in the
question or other types, and whether they are made of leather, metal
or anything else, is haraam for men, because they come under the
heading of women's clothing and adornments. No man wears them except
one in whom there is an inclination towards effeminacy and imitation
of women. Thematter is not as mentioned in the question, that the
Egyptians do not regard this as resembling women; in fact most people
with any decencyand morals denounce that and do not want their sons to
wear them. We do not know of anyone – in Egypt or in any other Muslim
Arab society – who thinks thatwearing this is acceptable among people
of religious commitment and dignity.
Shaykh Zakariya al-Ansaari (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
A man may wear a silver ring to follow example of the Prophet
(blessingsand peace of Allah be upon him) on the basis of scholarly
consensus; in fact it is Sunnah to do so, as we have seen above. … But
wearing bracelets and some other things such as bangles and necklaces
is not permissible for him even if they are made of silver, because
that is a kind of effeminacy that is not befitting for dignified men.
End quote.
Asna'l-Mataalib, 1/379; see also al-Majmoo' by an-Nawawi, 4/444
Ibn Hajar al-Haytami (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
It is haraam to imitate them (i.e., women) by wearing fashions that
are unique to them, suchas wearing bracelets, anklets and the like,
unlike wearing rings. End quote. al-Fataawa al-Kubra, 1/261
Men should choose adornments that are appropriate to their manliness
and to the society in which they live; before all that, they should be
acceptable according to Islamic teachings.

Islamic Stories - Miraculous story of how Dr. Bilal Abdul Alim became a Muslim

Personally, I embraced Islam at the age of 24, in the summer of 1975,
while studying medicineat Baylor College of Medicine in Houston,
Texas. After a long day ofstudy, I went to bed on aSaturday night with
no intention of becoming a Muslim. However, 2 things happened during
that night that would change my life completely. First of all, I had a
dream in which I was commanded by a strong and firm voice, toembrace
Islam immediately. I was reminded of how I had previously studied
comparative religion at Wesleyan University, but refused to accept
Islam even though I felt in my heart that it was the most practical
way of life. When I woke up the next morning, I sat on the edge of the
bed contemplating what to do, when the telephone rang. The call came
from my ex-roommate from Wesleyan who had embraced Islam after
graduation and was living in Washington, D.C. At that time, he was
studying to be an attorney at Catholic University School of Law.This
phone call was the second and final thing, that convinced me to
embrace Islam immediately.
My friend asked me, "Areyou ready to become a Muslim?" I replied, "Why
are you calling me this early in the morning with such a question?" He
answered in the following way, "Last night, I had a dream. In that
dream, I saw you smiling, surrounded by asort of spiritual light
(called Noor in Islam). Then, I heard a strong and powerful voice
saying, 'Allah has made this man a Muslim in the night and Allah has
given him the name, Bilal Abdul-Alim (3 times). So, your job is to
call him in the morning, and invite him to accept Islam and, give him
his new name." My friend continued by saying,"Don't play games with
me! Tell me what happened!" I then related my experience the night
before with tears in my eyes. A few days later, I drove non-stop from
Houston, Texas to Washington, D.Cto accept Islam in the presence of my
dear friend, Attorney Haroun G. Cook.

Islamic Stories - Whose is the kingdom today?

When the Samanid ruler,Nasr bin Ahmad ( 301 - 331 A.H), entered
Nishapur, he held a court. After ascending the throne, he wanted the
proceedings to be started with the recitation from the Holy Qur'an. At
this an elderly pious man came forwardand recited a section of the
surah Al- Mu'min. When he came to the verse (On that Day it will be
asked:) "Whose is the Kingdom today?"
Nasr was struck with awe; he descended the throne trembling, took off
the crown and fell down in prostration, saying: "O my Lord, Kingdom is
Yours, not mine!"
