*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

“That a man asked the Prophet (saw) about the final Hour. He asked: when is the final hour? He said: What have you prepared for it? He said: nothing, but I love Allah and HisMessenger. Gardening ideas: Tipsfor having a sweet-smelling garden

If someone gave you a spindly shrub named wintersweet to plant now,
you might have second thoughts about going to the effort. It is
twiggy, spindly and too big. But onmild days in midwinter it produces
clusters of yellow-white blossoms whose fragrance travels many feet.
The sweet scentis unexpected and hard to locate, but it fills the
heart with the joyful anticipationof spring.
Of all the pleasures that plants bestow, none is more intangible or as
powerful as fragrance. And yet, as the wintersweet tells us, it is
fleeting/

The Wisdom of the Prophet: the Incident of the Epileptic Woman

There is a hadith narrated by 'Ata bin Abi Rabah:
Ibn 'Abbas once said to me, "Shall I show you a woman of the people of
Paradise?"
I said, "Yes."
He said, "This black lady came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and
said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered;please
invoke Allah for me.' The Prophet said (to her), 'If you wish,be
patient and you will have Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke
Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but
I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not
become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." - Bukhari :: Book 7
:: Volume 70 :: Hadith 555
This hadith was published recently on MuslimasOasis.com , and I was
fascinated by the many comments from readers who have epilepsy and
have been inspired or comforted by this hadith.
One sister wrote:
"(This hadith) was a comfort to me as an epileptic when I had a
seizure outside of a masjid on thepavement in Philadephia during a
busy Jumaah afternoon. When I came to, my niqab was removed, my hijab
loosened, and my husband and a brother were helping the paramedics
that had arrived. Because of this hadith I felt comfort in spite of
being such a spectacle, alhamdulillah."
Another said:
"I too am an epileptic. When I firstreverted to Islam over 3 years
ago, one of the sisters who witnessed my Shahada wrote this hadith out
and gave it to me. It is a HUGE comfort to know this. May Allah ease
the trials of all epilepticsand those who suffer from any disease and
grant us all sabr. Ameen!"
And there were other similar comments, from men and women,ma-sha-Allah.
I don't have epilepsy or any other serious sickeness, Alhamdulillah
(praise God) for all His blessings. But as I read the comments of
people who do have some illness and have been tremendously comforted
by this hadith, all of a sudden I realized the huge wisdom of the
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in what he said to the epileptic woman. He
could have simply invoked for her and she would have been cured, and
then all of us 1,400 years laterwould read the story and say,
"Ma-sha-Allah, another miracle to prove his Prophethood." But it would
have no lasting personal significance.
Instead, by asking the woman to be patient and promising her Jannah
(Paradise), the Prophet (pbuh) has sent a message of hope down through
the ages to all the other sufferers in the world: Allah sees your
suffering. Your pain will be compensated, and your patience rewarded
with the greatest possible prize.
Even today epilepsy cannot be cured, though it can be controlled
somewhat through medication. So even now, all these years later, in
this age of medical wonders, this hadith still has immediate
significance for people who sufferfrom this illness, and in fact from
people who suffer from any illness, from cancer to leprosy to bipolar
disorder.
Another point of note is that everyProphet was sent with certain types
of miracles appropriate to the understanding of their people.Musa
(Moses, peace be upon him) was sent with the staff of power and the
white hand, because his mission was to a people steeped in sorcery.
"Medical miracles" – curing the sick, even bringing the dead back to
life – were the hallmark of the Prophet Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of
Mary, pbuh),because he was sent to a people who specialized in healing
arts.
If the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had made it his habit to cure the sick,
the Christians might say about us Muslims, "Oh, you are only taking
Biblical stories and applying them to your Prophet."
Instead, though the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) performed hisshare of
wonders, he was given the greatest miracle of all, the Quran, a living
proof through the millenia, and a source of eternal guidance. This is
appropriate because his immediate mission was to a people of poetry,
of language and eloquence; while his greater mission was to all of
humanity.
"Say: 'If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to
produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of
it, even if they backed up each other with help and support.'" (Quran
17:88)

Ahdaf Soueif: Protesters reclaim the spirit of Egypt

Egyptian novelist Ahdaf Soueif reflects on the determination of
Egyptians, after the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak, to rebuild
their country and reclaimtheir national identity.
I have friends on anti-depressantswho, over the last 20 days, forgot
to take their pills and have now thrown them away. Such is the effect
of the Egyptian Revolution.
On Friday night, Egypt partied. Chants and songs and drums and
joy-cries rang out from Alexandriato Aswan. The defunct regime was
only mentioned in reference to "we want our money back".
Otherwise, three chants were dominant - and very telling: One -"Lift
your head up high, you're Egyptian" - was a response to how
humiliated, how hopeless we'd been made to feel over the last four
decades.
The second was: "We'll get married, We'll have kids," and reflected
the hopes of the millionswhose desperate need for jobs and homes had
been driving them to risk their lives to illegally cross the sea to
Europe or the desert to Libya.
The third chant was: "Everyone who loves Egypt, come and rebuild Egypt."
We have a lot to learn very quickly. But we're working. And the
people, everywhere, are with us"
Ahdaf Soueif
Newborn revolution
And on Saturday, they were as good as their word: they came and
cleaned up after their revolution.

Turkey protests as Syrians open fire at border

Turkey has protested after Syrian forces opened fire across the
border, in the first such attack since Turkey began housing refugees
from the unrest.
Ankara summoned Syria's envoy after two incidents in which violence
spilled over into Turkey, leaving at least two people dead and many
injured.
Separately, a Lebanese cameraman was shot dead on theSyria-Lebanon border.
The violence comes amid fading hopes that a UN-brokered Syria
ceasefire will start on Tuesday as planned.
Monday has proved to be one of the bloodiest days of the uprising
despite the truce deal, which should be marked by troop withdrawals
from towns and cities if it is being implemented.
Activists reported more than 100 deaths - among them at least 30
civilians who died during Syrian army bombardment in the central
province of Hama.
Harrowing scenes were reported in the town of al-Latmana, where 17
women and eight children were said to have been crushed under the
rubble of their homes in the second attack on the area in days.
The deaths come as a report by Human Rights Watch accused Syrian
forces of carrying out morethan 100 summary executions since March.
The report says most of the victims were civilians/

Laa ilaha il-Allah

Frankly, if you became Muslim for any reason other than this, then you
never understood Islam to begin with. And if you were raised Muslim
but were not taught the infinite importance of this single sentence,
then you were not really raised as Muslim. You were only taught
cultural practices.
This is Islam. This is what all reality is based on. This is what
religion has been since the beginning of time. This is what all the
Prophets brought (may Allah bless them all). Every element of creation
acknowledges this truth except us; every child is born on this truth
(which is why we are all"born Muslim"): This truth that we were
created by a single, indivisible God; that our Creator is Loving,
Merciful and Compassionate; that everything we are and everything we
own comes from Him; that we began with Him as a breath, and we return
to Him as dust; that He witnesses everything we do; that He rewards
the good and punishes evil; that He loves us andwants good for us in
this life and the next; that He answers when we call and guides us
when we ask; that we owe gratitude to Himfor every heartbeat, every
lung fullof air, every bite of food, and every glimpse of truth.
No one deserves our love and obedience before Allah. Our first loyalty
is to Him.
No one can help us but Allah; and no one can harm us but Him. When
we're struggling and we cryout to ourselves, "What am I going to do?
Who will help me? What is the way forward for me?",we need to address
those cries toAllah! The answers will not come from our own thoughts
or tears; the answers won't come from banging our fists or pulling our
hair. The answers will come from Allah.
Forget for a moment about all those other factors that you are
reacting to: how so-and-so treated you, how your family treats you,
what the non-Muslims say, what the policies are at the Masjid, how
some Muslims gossip or discriminate, blah, blah, blah, these things
are distractions and traps.
I'm not saying that these things should not affect us. We're
humanbeings and we can't help being affected by how other human beings
treat us. Our relationships with family and society are real and they
matter. But these factors should never cut us awayfrom Laa
ilaha-il-Allah. If they do, then the wolf has isolated us, cut us away
from the truth and begun to devour our souls.
Truth. If you are in Islam for any other reason, then indeed, what isthe point?
This is a characteristic of a believing Muslim, that he or she is
dedicated to the truth, is committed to truth like a plant to the sun.
We must have a passion for the truth, we must be willing to die for
the truth/

♥::..Love her & be patient with her even when she nags you.::♥

It is reported that a man came to 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radhiAllahu
anhu) to complain about his wife's ill-temper. While he was waiting
for 'Umar to come out of his house, he heard 'Umar's wife scolding him
and 'Umar quietly listening to her, andnot answering her back.
The man turned around and started walking away, muttering to himself:
"If that is the case with 'Umar, the leader of the believers, who is
famous for his uprighteness and toughness, then what about poor me?!"
At that moment, 'Umar came out of his house and saw the man walking
away. He called him and said, "What is it you want of me, O man?"
The man replied: "O leader of the believers, I came to complain to you
about my wife's bad-temper and how she nags me. Then I heard your wife
doing the same to you, so I turned around, muttering to myself, 'If
that is the situation of the leader of the believers, then what about
me?'"
'Umar replied, "O my brother, I bear with her because of her rights
over me. She cooks my food, bakes my bread, washes my clothes,
breast-feeds my child...and yet none of these are her duty;* and then
she is a comfort to myheart and keeps me away from forbidden deeds.
Consequently, I bear with her."
The man said, "It is the same with me, O leader of the believers."
'Umar said:"Then, O my brother, be patient with her, indeed this life
is short.
(Adh-Dhahabi, Al-Kabâ'ir 194)
This hadith about 'Umar is a beautiful example of the lofty status
that Islam has given women. The Ameer ul Mu'mineen [Commander of the
Believers] himself used to listen patiently while his wife scolded him
and he instructed his followers to likewise be patient and grateful
for all the favours their wives gave them/

China expresses condolences, considers aid for Siachen avalanche

This photo released by Inter Services Public Relations on Sunday shows
the avalanche site in Siachen. Diplomats on Monday said China would
most certainly send some form of financial and technical assistance to
help rescue work.
China on Monday expressed its condolences for the at least 124
Pakistani soldiers and 11 civilians still missing following Saturday's
avalanche on the Siachen glacier, but did not say whether it would be
providing either technical assistance or military support to help with
rescue operations in the sensitive region.
"We express our condolences to the Pakistani victims in the avalanche
and express oursympathies to the bereaved families," Foreign Ministry
spokesperson Liu Weimin told reporters.
Rescuers on Sunday continued to struggle through the heavy snow and
fallen boulders that had buried the headquarters of a battalion in the
Giari area, as hopes for survivors faded in the harsh 15,000 feet-high
terrain of Siachen.
Mr. Liu did not reply to a question on whether China would be sending
financial support, technicalassistance or personnel to Siachen to help
with on-going rescue operations, although diplomatic sources said
China was considering providing some form of assistance.
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) has close ties with the Pakistani
Army, and sent several thousand troops, mainly from its engineering
and construction corps, to assist in flood-relief in the disputed
Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 2010.
China provided $ 250 million to aid rescue and recovery operations
following the 2010 floods. This was the largest-ever grant of
humanitarian aid by China to any foreign country, and also marked the
first instance of China sending aid over land. The government and the
PLA dispatched 101 trucks to Gilgit from the Xinjiang region, which
neighbours PoK, over the Karakoram highway to the dry port atSust
through the Khunjerab pass/

He asked: Why is it difficult at times to become a practicing Muslim?
I said•► Islam is total SUBMISSION to Allah. However, we don'twant
this as we want to have it our way. Islam is like a frame and our life
is like a picture. The proper SUBMISSION would be to put the frame
over the picture and CUT all the edges that are out of the frame!!
People instead stretch the frame even if they have to break it so that
it would fit their life, desires and whims. This is NOT true
SUBMISSION. This is not Islam.

Haseeb Mëhmôôd writes:

The best property of man ishis heart and soul when it is completely
surrendered to the will of Allah Almighty, So be a servant of Allah
who loves to be under his shed of mercy and His Almighty servant-ship

keepthis in your mind that AllahAlmighty is well knowing of what you
keep in your heart, don't count the blessing of Allah Almighty as you
can't even count thebreath you have taken and step you have taken,
just thank and praise him with true heart and intention, Tears are
another form of expressing your love for Allah Almighty and even them
eyes which cries because of fear of Allah Almighty is saved from the
fire of hell. You are blessed at every step if you look at the
surrounding around you, you will find what youhave others might not
have, so be thankful don't be thankless...!

Happiness

It would be nice if we all had loving and supportive parents. Some do,
Alhamdulillah. But some have parents who are critical, demeaning and
harsh. If you have an abusive parent who tells you that you are
worthless, stupid and good for nothing, you can't spend your life
waiting and hoping for that parent to love you and be proud of you. It
ain't gonna happen. Most likely your parent wasraised harshly
himself/herself and doesn'tknow how to act any otherway. Accept that
reality and learn to value yourself,no matter what anyone says.
You will have to be strong and independent in spirit. You will have to
find validation of your worth within yourself. You do have worth,
after all. You are as unique and beautifulas the sun and the moon, the
sea and the stars. You are special and gifted and you will need to
realize that on your own, even in the face of external abuse.
Seek your support from Allah.
"And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them
on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and
preferred them over much of what We have created…" – Quran, 17:70.
Allah has honored you. Dignity is your birthright. It's okay if you're
not perfect. No one is. You can still love yourself, with all your
special gifts and funnyhabits, and whatever is lacking, well, you can
work on it. That's what all of us do.
Be patient with your parent and love them, but don't buy into their
negativity. Allah loves you and has a plan for you. Believe this and
move forward, and when you have children, shut down the cycle of
negativity and do better than your parent did. It's okay to be better
than your parents. Any good parent wants their children to surpass
them.
Show your own children patience, gentleness and endless love.
May Allah bless you and fill your heart with self-knowledge,
self-dignity, and hope for the future/

Focus on Allah, your Creator:

Focus on Allah, your Creator . He is the One whowishes to see you
succeed. He is the One who wants good for you, and His Help is with
you so long as you are sincere and do your best.
Focus on the Hereafter and make it your focal point throughout life.
Fix your vision on attaining the high ranks; "Look at how We have
favoured some of them over others, but the Hereafter is greater in
degrees and greater in distinction ." [al-Isra: 21].
Ask Allah for guidance in all your affairs . Seek HisMercy and
Blessings. Ask Him to help you overcome the obstacles in life and help
you deal with people in the best manner, and insha'Allah He will most
certainly bring you out as astronger, wiser person.
Be patient. Be patient with people, with circumstances, with the
erayou live in. Be patient when things don't go smoothly or even if
they do go smoothly, be patientwhen they don't turn out as you expect.
Realise that sometimes people are just part of the test . They may not
always intend you harm, but it's the Decree of Allah that He may wish
to test you with others. In the end, this will only increase your
reliance upon Him and your heart will learn tobe patient with
everything and seek Him Alone.
Remain humble. It's all too easy to improperly react (or overreact!)
when faced with difficult people. Be calm, be collected and stay
humble. We ourselves are not safe from mistreating others which
islikely to happen if we respond with anger or speak without thought.
If you endure harm from one person, don't let it cause you to abandon
others . Be social but be wiser in your sociability. Remember the
words of Ibn Hibban when he said, "Whoever seeks to please all people
is seeking something impossible! Rather the intelligent one seeks the
pleasure of thosewho he cannot do without… Many times thereis little
safety for a person when he is social, so what safety can there be for
a person who is unsocial?" (In other words, when you're social, at
least there'll be people who like you and you like them, but if you're
unsocial, then you won't be liked by anyone).
Remember your high aspirations . Remember that they are worth the
struggle because you have intended them for Allah. Keep looking
forwards, anddon't be sidetracked by thedifficulties. As the great
thinker and reformer once said:
"My brother, walk on, anddo not look back,
Your path has been dyed with blood (i.e. struggles).
Do not look about, neither here nor there,
And do not look except to the sky…"
- Sayyid Qutb (rahimahullah)

Got the sun in your eye?

Summer can be hard on your eyes but with these simple tips you can
stay safe and comfortable
The heat, dust and excessive light of the sun during summer can make
life difficult. This is the timewhen one is advised to take extra
precautions for skin and hair care. Similarlyit is also important to
protect one's eyes. Here's what you need to do.
Use good sunglasses: Justas sunscreen ensures that the sun's UV rays
don't harm our skin, UV treated lenses block those same rays from
damaging our eyes. Overexposure to ultraviolet light is thought to
cause cataracts, retinal damage and other eye problems. The ideal
summer sunglasses are those with a wrap-around frame to keep the sun
and the dust out. Typically ultraviolet light tends to reflect off
water and snow. If you are planning to indulge in water sports be sure
to use a good pair of sunglasses. If not, usually the eye turns red by
evening and, in sensitive cases, the cornea may evenget injured. .
Protective clear glasses: Outdoor activities like camping are now
common. But, when chopping wood or cooking around a camp fire, be sure
to use clear protective glasses. Often flying embers, especially in a
stiff wind, can lead to severe burns that could have been avoided. In
outdoor sports like cycling and dirt biking, the eyes are likely to be
hit by flyingdebris. Foresight and a little care will go a long way in
letting you enjoy your vacation safely.
Pool protection: Cool water and blue pool can bevery inviting on a hot
day. But make sure you do not forget your goggles. In summer, the
incidence of skin infection in swimmingpools increases so most pools
will increase the amount of chlorine or other chemicals to keep the
water safe. This often leads to irritation in the eyes. Use your
goggles andwash your eyes with fresh water the minute you get out of
the pool.
Lubricating drops: It's not only the skin that dries outin summer.
Even the eyes tend to do that. Lubricatingdrops are the ideal
solution. Ideally the drops should be preservative freeand fortunately
many are now available off the shelf.Use the drops freely to keep the
eyes comortable/

1500.year old Bible, have information about....

Vatican Requests 1,500-Year-Old Bible Held In Turkey
The Vatican has allegedly issued an official request toexamine a
1,500-year-old Bible that has been held in Turkey for the past 12
years, the Hurriyet Daily News reports.
IN THIS BIBLE, JESUS IS SAID TO HAVE PREDICTED THE COMING OF THE
PROPHET MUHAMMED.
The Bible reportedly contains early teachings of Jesus Christ and is
written in gold lettering on animal hide in Syriac, a dialect of
Aramaic, which was the native tongue of Jesus.
According to a report by National Turk, the Bible was seized from a
gang of smugglers in a Mediterranean-a rea operation. The report
states the gang was charged with smuggling antiquities, illegal
excavations, and the possession of explosives.
Today's Zaman reports thatthe Bible is under high security and that a
Turkish daily newspaper, the Star, claims the book could be a copy of
the Gospel of Barnabas -- a controversial text which Muslims claim
isan addition to theoriginal gospels -- Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
-- that was suppressed.

shots during fighting with Syrian troopsin a suburb of Damascus on

in the country ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
Forty civilians died "in bombardment and shooting on the town of
Latamna," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
