Question
Is it allowable for menstruating women to enter Al-Masjid
Al-Haraamwithout reaching the nave (area surrounding the Ka'bah), the
Ka'bah or the area of circumambulation? For example, to enter through
the door of King Fahd, or stand in Mas'a, i.e. the area where pilgrims
perform Sa'y between As-Safa and Al-Marwah for supplication and to
wait for her friends to perform 'Umrah?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
, is His Slave and Messenger.
Muslim scholars hold different opinions regarding the ruling on
menstruating women entering the Masjid; the preponderant opinion is
that it is impermissible.
And this ruling applies to Al-Masjid Al-Haraam even more so due to its
nobility. This applies to all areas that are attached to Al-Masjid
Al-Haraam, such as the yard of the Masjid beyond the doors, and the
area between the nave and the Mas'a; However, it is permissiblefor a
menstruating woman to enter the Mas'a since she is allowedto perform
Sa'y between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. 'Aa'ishah narrated that the
Prophet , told her when she experienced menstrual bleeding during
Hajj: " Dowhat all the pilgrims do except that you do not perform
Tawaaf round the Ka'bah. " [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
This proves that the Mas'ais not a part of Al-Masjid Al-Haraam.

*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -*
-
Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-
