In spite of his wealth, glory, and vast empire, Prophet Sulayman (as)
remained a humble and devoted servant of Allah (swt). He spent his
nights in prayers and fasted during the days. He used his power and
might onlyin the way of Allah (swt) to bring humankind to the right
path. For his livelihood, he used to make baskets and sell them in the
market; and with the money he obtained, he bought food and shared it
with the poor.
One day, when he was inspecting the birds, he noticed that a bird
called Hudhud (Hoopoe) was not present. He said,"Where is Hudhud? I
will punish him severely if he remains absent without agood reason."
Shortly after that, Hudhud arrived and told Prophet Sulayman (as) that
he had flown over the land of Saba (Sheba) where he had seen a
beautiful woman ruling over the people. Her name was Bilqees. She had
plenty of wealth, a strong army and a thronemade of gold, diamonds and
other precious stones. He saw her and the people worshipping the sun,
instead of Allah (swt).
Prophet Sulayman (as) was very pleased with Hudhud and gave him a
letter to deliver to Bilqees. Hudhud flew to the land of Saba and
dropped the letter in the lap of Bilqees while she was in the palace.
When Bilqees received the letter, she called her advisors and said, "I
havereceived an honorable letter from Sulayman. It begins In the name
of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful and it reads:"Accept Allah
(swt) and worship only Him. I am his prophet, believe in what I say
and accept my command".

*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -*
-
Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dua after the last tashahhud and before salaam #9
Translation
O Allah, I ask You O Allah,as You are The One, The Only, As-Samad, The
One who begets not, nor wasHe begotten and there isnone like unto Him,
that You forgive me my sins for verily You are The Oft-Forgiving,
Most-Merciful.
Note: As-Samad means the Self-Sufficient Master, Possessor of perfect
attributes whom all of creation turn to in all their needs.
Transliteration

Dua for seeking guidance(Istikhaarah)
Translation
On the authority of JabirIbn Abdullah, he said, "The Prophet (peace
andblessings of Allah be upon him) would instruct us to pray for
guidance in all of our concerns, just as he would teach us a chapter
from the Quran."
He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would say, If any of you
intends to undertake a matter then let himpray two supererogatory
units(two rakaah nafilah) of prayer and afterwhich he should
supplicate:
O Allah, I seek Your counsel by Your knowledge and by Your power I
seek strength and I ask You from Your immense favour,
For indeed You are able while I am not and You know while I do not
andYou are the Knower of the unseen.
O Allah, if You know (thisaffair) -or you may mention your need now-
to be good for me in relation to my religion, my life, and end, then
decree and facilitate it for me, and bless me with it,
And if You know this affair to be ill for me in my religion, my life,
and my end, then remove it from me and remove mefrom it, and decree
for me what whatever is good wherever it may be and make me satisfied
with it.
Notes:
*One who seeks guidance from his Creator, consults his fellow
believers and then remains firm in his resolve does not regret, for
Allah has said:
"…and consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision,
put your trust in Allah..."
*Al-Istikharah dua is to be said after intention was already made to
do something where guidance of Allah is needed here to ease the path
towards achieving this intended matter if it was beneficial for the
individual, and not (as understood by many) to choose between two
matters, when unsure.
