*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Ramadan Articles - The Devils are Shackled, Ramadan is Here - III

As for whispers inRamadan, scholars said that there are different
kinds of whispers, some of which are pathologicalwhispers
)compulsive(, whispers of the inner self, and devilish whispers.
Pathological whispersare compulsive obsessions that a person cannot
ward off completely, until he/she receivesthe due treatment.
Whispers of the inner selfare inner obsessive thoughts.
Shaykhul-IslamIbn Taymiyyah, may Allaah gave mercy on him, said,"Souls
also whisper to man, inciting him to commit sins."Allaah The Exalted
Says:}And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers
tohim, and We are closer tohim than ]his[ jugular vein.{]Quran 50:16[
Devilish whispers are from the devil, whether the devil is inside or
outside the person's body. This issue is a subject of confusion for
some people. How can the devils whisper to man during the month
ofRamadan, while they areshackled?
The answer to this question is thatchaining the devils does not
prevent them from whispering to humankind. The shackleddevils can
still whisper to people. Shaykh Abu Al-Hasan Al-Qaabisiwas asked about
the meaning of the words of the Prophet,, when hesaid:"The devils are
chained up in Ramadan."He replied,"The devils may still whisper to
people even if they are shackled."
Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyahsaid,"If the shackled devils can still
harm people while being chained up, no doubt they can whisper to them.
If the shackled devils can harm people, they can, definitely, whisper
to them."
As for the convulsions that some may experience due to being possessed
by theJinn, there are two ways in whichJinnoverpower or defeat a human
being: it may beout of strength orout of weakness.
1- TheJinn, possessing a human beingoverpowers or defeats a human
beingby tempting him to commit sins, abstain from doing righteous
deeds, renouncing self-reproach, and yielding to his quick-temper. In
this case, theJinnis more powerful than the possessed person and
becomes abletooverpower and defeathim.
However, theJinnmay get help from some of the devils among theJinn,
outside of the possessed human's body. TheJinnthat is possessing the
human becomes more powerful due to this help and becomes able
tooverpower and defeatthe possessed human being. In fact, in both
cases theJinnoverpowers and defeatsthe human being out ofstrength.
2- WhenRuqyah)healing with the help of reciting the Noble
Quran(,Thikr)remembrance of Allaah The Almighty(, supplications, or
the like are recited over the possessed person, this confines
theJinninside the possessed body. It weakens and undermines theJinn's
power and control over the body. Consequently, theJinnis overpowered
and defeated and the possessed person goes intoconvulsions as a
consequence of overpowering and defeating theJinn; as thelatter is
possessing the human's body entirely. It is worth mentioning thatthe
possessed persongoes intoconvulsions because of overpowering and
defeating theJinnthat is possessing his body. The possessed person is
not overpowered or defeated by theJinn.
Therefore, the convulsions, which some people may experience during
the month ofRamadandue to overpowering and defeating theJinnthat is
possessing their bodies isout of weakness on the part of theJinn. This
does not contradict the shackling of the devils and
rebelliousJinnduring the month ofRamadan; since the possessed
persongoes intoconvulsions because of overpowering and defeating
theJinnthat is possessing his body. The possessed person is not
overpowered or defeated by theJinn– Allaah knows best.
Another point that should be mentioned in this regard is thatshackling
the devils does not prevent them from harming people. Shaykhul-Islam
Ibn Taymiyyahsaid,"In the month of Ramadan, the devil's power wanes
due to being chained up.Therefore, the devils become unable to incite
people and harm them inthe month of Ramadan asthey do in other times.
However, they are shackled and not dead orkilled. The Prophetstated
that the devils are shackled, yet they can still harm people."
Sometimes the shackled devils' harm may be too much to be endured by
some people due to the extreme weakness of their faith. In this case,
the shackled devils will be able to overpower and defeat them – Allaah
knows best.
However, fasting weakens the effects of the devil'swhispers on a
person. Accordingly, the devil becomesunable to incite people and harm
them, especially inRamadan, the way it can at others times. Therefore,
a fasting person should make full use of the weakness of the devils
during fasting. He should also take advantage of his strength, energy,
and therevival of faith, which he experiences in order to conquer the
devil, warding off its perils, overcoming ]spiritual[ diseases and
wiping away other psychologicaland marital problems incurred by the
devil's evil plots and power.
People should be encouraged and motivated to recite the Noble Quran
more frequently in the month ofRamadan. For instance, people could
organize competitions among individuals, families and neighbourhoods
for the recitation of the Noble Quran observing the rules
ofTajweed)science of reciting the Quran( or memorizing the first or
the second chapter of theQuran. Benefactors and charitable people
could sponsor such competitions in order to offer valuable prizes for
the winners on the night or the day of'Eed. Perhaps this would help
putting an end to the state of apathy and laziness that many Muslims
experience after two or three days of the beginning ofRamadan.

Ramadan Articles - The Devils are Shackled, Ramadan is Here - II

Based on theinterpretations of our righteous predecessors and the
opinions of theknowledgeablescholars on the meaning of shackling, we
deduce thefollowing:
First:The meaning of shackling may beinterpreted according to its
apparent or intended meaning. It could mean that all the devils
arechained up or it could mean that only the most rebellious and evil
ones are shackled. Moreover, it may also mean that Satan ]Iblees[ and
his descendants are chained up duringRamadanor it could mean that the
disbelievers among theJinnare the ones who are chained. All these
opinions were mentioned by the scholars.
Whatsupports this interpretation is that the nature of the devils is
different from that of humankind. It was mentioned in
authenticHadeeths that the devil does not approach the one who recites
theverseofAl-Kursibeforesleeping until he wakes up. How is the devil
prevented from approaching this sleeping person?
Add to that, reciting theBasmalah)sayingBismillaah( serves as a shield
against theJinn. How is this possible?
The devils are influenced by theRuqyah)healing with the recitation of
theQuran( of a confident person more than that ofa less confident
person; how does this happen?
Glory be to Allaah The Exalted who perfectly created this world and
wisely and skilfully manages It.
Second:Shackling may indicate the inability of the devils to tempt and
incite people through narrowing the channels of blood, in which the
devils circulate due to fasting, asthe devil flows through the son of
Adam just as blood flows through him. While fasting, the veins in the
body become narrow due to hunger and thirst, which causes the
passageways of the devil in the human body to become narrower.
Therefore, by fasting, thewhispers of the devil are held back and the
strength of our desires and anger is controlled. The devils become
unable to incite fasting people as they do with non-fasting ones.
Thus, they are restrained from tempting people who carry out acts of
worship, good deeds, and various actsthat bring one closer to Allaah
The Almighty.
This meaning ]that shackling indicates the inability of the devils to
incite people while fasting inRamadan[ is backed by the following:
·The devil is far from a fasting person and unable to control him
during the month ofRamadanor at any other time. However, the devil's
inability to incite fasting people is far greater inRamadan, depending
upon the person'scompliance withthe conditions and etiquette of
fasting.Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyahsaid, "Whoever observes the due
conditions and etiquette of fasting and perfects his fasting, he will
be able to ward off the devils completely in away that one whose
fasting isdeficientcannot."
A fasting person devotes his days to carrying out acts of worship
inRamadan, which wards off the devil. Indeed, fasting is ashield,
unlike other acts of worship that have limited times during which
thelurkingdevil waits for the worshipper to finish his worship act in
order to incite him. In fact, fastingis a shield against the devil
during the month ofRamadanor any other month of the year.
A fasting person refrains from satisfying his lustful and sinful
cravings of theflesh with which the devil controls him, harming or
inciting him to commit what is forbidden. If a person shields himself
against his enemy, the devil, he will be able to weaken and vanquish
him. This is not exclusive to the month ofRamadan.
Besides, fasting is an act of worship that involves endurance,
will-power, and determination. If one attains an elevated spiritual
rankand sharpens his faith and determination, he can overpower the
devil andfrustratehis evil plots and whispers. Indeed, the devil is
weak. This is not exclusively for fastinginRamadan– and Allaah knows
best.
For some people, it may be acurious paradoxthatpeople continue to
commit sins inRamadan, during which it is said the devils are chained
up. There may be others who experience the whispers of the devil, and
still others maygo into convulsions due to being possessed byJinn.
The paradox that some people continue to commit sins inRamadandoes not
contradict the shackling of the devils. Dissolute evildoers among
theJinnand humans, who are not chained, may incite people to commit
sins. Moreover, it could be dueto people's base desires, their souls
that incline to evil, or the fact that they are used to committing
sins.
Imaam Al-Qurtubisaid,"The fact that all thedevils are shackled does
not necessarily mean thatno man would commit sins or evil acts. People
sin due to other factors, aside from the devils, such as souls that
are persistent enjoiners of evil, bad habits and the devilish people
)devils of humankind(."
Shaykh 'Abdullaah ibn Jibreensaid,
"Many people who are accustomed to sin may keep doing what they are
habitually used to doing even during the month of Ramadan. Although
the devils are chained up, still, old habits die hard. Therefore, we
may witness many sins committed in Ramadan such as drinking alcohol,
adultery, listening to songs and so on. The urges for such evil
practices are bad habits, whims, souls inclined to evil, devils among
humankind, base desires, temptations, the spread of lewd pictures and
movies, and the like. It is not surprising to witness these sins
during the month of Ramadan, even though the devils are shackled."

Ramadan Articles - The Devils are Shackled, Ramadan is Here - I

Ramadanis a month in which the devils are shackled, as the Prophet,,
informed us. Indeed, the chaining of the devilsis one of the greatest
means of overcoming them and shielding oneself against their perils.
Abu Hurayrahreported that the Prophet,, said:"When the month of
Ramadan starts, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell
are closed and the devils are chained."]Al-Bukhaari, Muslim, Ahmad,
and An-Nasaa'i[
Abu Hurayrahalso narrated that the Prophet,, said:"O people! A great
month has come over you; a blessed month.During it, the gates
toParadiseare opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the
devils are shackled.A month has dawned over you wherein lies a night
better than a thousand months.Whoever is deprived of its good is
indeed deprived."]An-Nasaa'i:Saheeh[
The devils harm man, inflicting pain and suffering upon him.
Theywhisper to man and incite him, foster corruption, and sow the
seeds of discord among people. Devils may possess the bodies of people
or whisper to them, inciting them to commit sins. If the devils are
chained up during the month ofRamadan, then it is a great opportunity
for man to overpower those devils and to destroy theJinns, which
possess human bodies.
What is the meaning of shackling or chaining up as stated inHadeeths?
Al-Haafith Ibn Hajarsaid in his bookAl-Fat-h,"The Hadeeth indicates
that the devils are shackled."
'Iyaadh, said,"The words of the Prophetcould be understood according to
their apparent or intended meaning. It could mean that the devils are
really chained up in the month of Ramadan or it may be
afigurativeexpression indicating restraining them from harming and
inciting humankind. Verily, this is a sign for the angels that the
month of Ramadan has begun, an indication of the sanctity of Ramadan
and a sign of restraining the devils from harming the believers."
"It could also be an indication of theabundant heavenlyrewards
andforgiveness in the month of Ramadan. It could point out thatthe
ability of the devils to tempt and incitepeople wanes just like that
of one who is chained up."
'Iyaadh, also said,"Shackling the devils indicates restraining and
preventing them from tempting and inciting people to commit sins and
beautifyinglusts of the fleshandsinful desires."
Ibn Hajarcited the opinion of Al-Qurtubiregarding the meaning of
shackling the devils. He wrote,"It means that when people observe
thedue conditions and etiquette of fasting, the influence of their
whispers grow less and wane.Fasting weakens the effects of the devils'
whispers on a person and reduces his sins."
However, the words of theHadeethmay mean that some devils, i.e.the
most evil and rebellious onesare shackled, and not all of them,as
mentioned in some narrations.
The words may also suggest that the evil of the devils becomes less
asfasting weakens the effect of their whispers on a personand this is
a tangible fact. It is less likely for man to be influenced by Satanic
evils andwhispers while fasting.
Ibn Muflihsaid,"The devils are chained up in Ramadan according to the
apparent meaning ofthe Hadeeth. However, it could also mean that the
rebellious and most evil devils are shackled as some other narrations
mentioned."
Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyahsaid,"The devils are shackled; they become
unable to whisper to fasting people, inciting them to commit evil
deeds like they used to do in other times. A shackled creature is
restrained from doing whatever it wishes. Indeed, the devilsare able
to control and incite the sons of Adam because of their lusts. If
people abstained from satisfying those lusts, then the devils are
chained."
In anotherHadeeth)narration(, theProphet,, used the word "chained" to
describe thedevils during the month ofRamadan. Anasnarrated that the
Prophet,, said:"When Ramadan comes, the gates of Heaven are opened,
the gates of Hell are closed, and the devilsare chained."]Ahmad and
An-Nasaa'i:Saheeh[

Fathwa - Female medical treatment in Ramadan

Question:
She had to insert an instrument and also I think her fingers to
check where my injuries are inside. Did this break my fast?
Answer:
Mere insertion of the finger or an instrument in the vagina does not
invalidate the fast, unlessit is wetted with water or oil [or any
other substance that will remain within]. (Ibn al-Humam, Fath
al-Qadir, a commentary on Marghinanis Hidaya)
And Allah alone gives success.
Faraz Rabbani

أدخل الإصبع في دبره أو فرجها الداخل لا يفسد الصوم إلا أن تكون مبلولة

Fathwa - Incipience of menstruation while fasting

Question:
In the sister's halaqa I go to we had a disagreement on whatto do if a
woman startsmenstruating while fasting. We agreed the fast was broken
and must be made up, but some said if it happened after 10 am than you
have to still act like you are fasting and not eat anything until
iftar time. Is this true or is it culture?
Answer:
Assalamu alaykum
In the name of Allah the Inspirer or truth.
A woman does not have to act like she is fasting for the rest of the
day if her fast is invalidated by the coming on of menstruation. There
is a light disagreement among the jurists as to whether she has to act
like a fasting person on this day [See Radd al-Muhatar 1:193] but no
mention or distinction made on the basis of the time the menstruation
begins.
However, she does act as a fasting person for the rest of the day
until iftar on the day her menstruation ends (al-Durr al-Mukhtar
2:106)
And Allah knows best.

Fathwa - Permission to observe voluntary fast?

Question:
My wife is really struggling with the idea that why does a woman need
to get her husband's permission to observe voluntary fast? She is
really confused about the fact that this is an act between her and
Allah, why does she need permission from a human being? She has got
some answers from local Imams saying that the man is more inclined
towardsgoing out and committing Zina, so that's why the woman should
be readily available for her husband. This answer really made her
upset, becuase she contested that there are women out there who are as
vulnerable as men. Canyou please provide us a detailed answer, becuase
she is really struggling with this spiritually and physically.
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
Praise be to Allah.
May Allah's peace and blessings shower upon our beloved Messenger.
Dear Brother,
I pray this message finds you and your wife in good health and spirits.
The basis for a woman's asking her husband's permission to do a
voluntary fast comes from the hadith of the Prophet, Allah bless him
and give him peace, "A woman should not fast (optional fasts) except
with her husband's permission if he is at home (staying with her)."
[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 120]
Our duty as Muslims is to approach the teachings of the Prophet, peace
be upon him, with the attitude enjoined by the Qur'an, "And it
becomethnot a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His
messenger have decided an affair (for them), that they should (after
that) claim any say in their affair; and whoso is rebellious to Allah
and His messenger, he verily goeth astray in error manifest."
[Al-Ahzab, 33:36]
The essence of Islam resides in sublimating our inclinations to what
the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, brought us.
Please reassure your wife that her seeking your permission to perform
a voluntary fast is neither demeaning nor degrading to her. Unlike
obligatory fasts, which are an obligation solely due to Allah Most
High, voluntary fasts involve the rights of a fellow human being,
namely the husband. Out of respect and consideration for each other,
both husband andwife should check with each other before performing a
voluntary fast.
My teacher told me that the fundamental purposes of marriage arelove,
intimacy, and companionship. It's hard to satisfy these purposes if
the spouses do not make themselves sexually available to eachother. In
Islam, marriage is a form of contract, based on the premise that the
woman will make herself sexually available to the man with his promise
that he will support her and their children. It is the wife's
religious and legalobligation to make herself available to her
husband. Likewise, it is the husband's religious and legal obligation
to satisfy his wife. Thus, they keep each other chaste.
Your wife is correct: there are some women out there who are inclined
to stray. However, generally speaking, the urge for men to stray is
usually much stronger. The rulings of Sacred Law usually address
themselves to general cases, rather than exceptions.
When a woman gets her husband's consent to perform a voluntary fast,
she can attain to much baraka (blessing) because:
1. She is following the Sunna of our Beloved Prophet, Allah bless him
and give him peace.
2. She is letting her husband know how much she cares about him.
3. She is exemplifying the noble spirit of Islamicmarriage: an
attitude of loving, compassionate concern.
4. When she exhibits such a positive attitude, Allah willing, her
husband will reciprocate.
May Allah Most High blessyou and your wife.
And Allah knows best.

The creation is in need for Allaah

Man always looks for what benefits him and what protects him from
harm. However, to accomplish this, man must be able to realize what is
harmful. He must then know whom he should need, trust, and love so
that he can attain what is beneficial as well as to feel good about
his choice.
He also must know the proper and good approach that would make him
achieve this goal. This latter conditionrequires that man:
1.Know about harm
2.What ways can be used to drive harm away?
Certainly, man can have no better guidance than that which comes from
the One Who had perfected everything, and the One who Has no
deficiency in Himself and in His Attributes. The One Who is
Ever-Living and Who does not die. There can be no One better than the
One Who Has no need for anything; the One Who is rich; the Giver; the
One who, after all, controls man's soul. Man is so poor to Him. He is
Allaah, the True and only God. Man can bring harm to himself if he
seeks other than Allaah for help. Allaah is the OneWho can help man
drive away any harm for it cannot occur without His Will and His
Power.
Allaah Almighty sent down His Books and chose His Messengers to guide man to:
1. Know His Lord as He Almighty had explained about Himself, and
2. Seek Him Alone while living in accordance withHis plan
Knowing Allaah's Names and Attributes liberates man from worshiping
any form of creation because creation is weak and is in need of The
Creator, Allaah. The knowledge about Allaah leads man to know that he
is created to live according to Allaah's wayas revealed to His
Messengers may Allaah exalt their mention the final of whom was
Messenger Muhammad.
This Revelation contains a complete code of life. Everything that is
beneficial or harmful is established so that man can center his life
aroundthis Revelation. If man commits wrong and knows that Allaah is
Oft-Forgiving he would turn to Him, and to Him alone, seeking His
forgiveness; Allaah Says)what means(:"So know, ]O Muhammad sallallaahu
alaihi wa sallam[, that there is no deity except Allah and ask
forgiveness for your sin ."]Quran 47:19[
It is wrong to think or believe that Allaah created other 'gods'
besides Him so that man turns to them for help; loves them or fear
them, etc. He is the same God ofall nations. He does not order that
people should make of stars, sun, fire, 'Eesaa )Jesus(, Moosaa)Moses(,
Muhammad may Allaah exalt their mention etc. gods besides Him. He
)Most Exalted( cannot be 'contradictory'. He has one way )religion(
that calls man to surrender hiswill only to Him.
He warned that if man)even Muhammad( would take partners withHim, then
his work will fail and will be among losers; Allaah Says )what
means(:"And verily, it had beenrevealed to you )O Muhammad ( as has
been revealed to those before you. If you join others in worship with
Allaah )then( surely)all( your deeds will be in vain andyou will
certainly be among the losers. Nay! But worship Allaah and be among
grateful."]Quran 39:65-66[
Let us know what Muhammadthe man-Prophet, who knew Allaah best, used
to say:"OAllaah, I seek refuge in You for Your Pleasure and against
Your Wrath, and in Your Forgiveness and against Your Punishment andin
You from You, I cannot Praise You as You can Praise Yourself.")Muslim,
Abu Daawood, At-Tirmithi, Ibn Maajah(
Heused to say also:"I have surrendered myself to You, Ihave directed
my face to You, I have entrusted my affairs to You, I have compelled
my back to refuge in You, in want and in fright of You, there is no
resort nor survival from You except )in turning( to You. I have faith
in Your book )i.e. the Quran( which You brought down and in the
Prophet )Muhammad ( you have sent.")Al-Bukhaari & Muslim(
When we read in the Quran )what means(:"Whatever of Mercy )i.e. of
good(, Allaah may grant to mankind, none can withhold it, and whatever
He may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. And He is the
All-Mighty, the All-Wise."]Quran 35:2[
And when we read )whatmeans(:"If Allaah touches you with hurt, there
is none can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you,
there isnone who can repel His favor which He causes it to reach
whomsoever of His slaves He will, and He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most
Merciful."]Quran 10:117[
We should be motivated to return to Him Alone at times of ease and at
times of hardship. And when we read )what means(:"If Allaah helps you
none can overcome you, and if Heforsakes you, who is there, after Him,
that can help you. And in Allaah )alone( let believers put their
trust."]Quran 3:160[
The Quran, therefore, leads man to a true liberation from any false
attachment. It brings peace to the heart. It helps the believer
againsthypocrisy and all forms ofdishonesty.
Imagine, for example, a believer facing a problemat work. He sees
wrong and faces unlawful practices. He does not fear rejecting what is
wrong. He knows that the job is only a means togain his sustenance.
While he may be unable to correct what is wrong,he knows well that
Allaahis the One Who provides. If he leaves his job for the sake of
Allaah, Allaah will give him a better one. Allaah Almighty Said)what
means(:"And whoever fears Allah—He will make for him a way out. And
will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies
upon Allah — then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will
accomplish His purpose. Allah hasalready set for everything a]decreed[
extent."]Quran 65:2-3[
The above texts, necessitates that man must depend upon AllaahAlmighty
asking Him Alone for assistance. It also requires that man must love
Allaah and worship Him Alone to gain His pleasure and His help. Is it
not true that the people who consider this life as the "Final Goal"
end up worshiping many things in it? You see them so careful
about"having it all". They torture themselves: pain, difficulty,
constant worry, keeping their hands in the banks for loan after loan to
keep up with the"demands of development". They are under the constant
threatof fore-closure. They constantly see poverty in front of their
eyes.
The Prophetsaid:"Allaah says: 'Son of Aadam: Fill your time with My
worship and I will fill your heart with richness, and end off your
poverty. But if you do not, I would make your hands fully busy )i.e.
in worldly affairs( and I would not end off your
poverty.'")At-Tirmithi(
Our purpose of existence on earth is more meaningful than being slaves
to worldly gains. There can be no meaningful life better than that
prescribed by our Creator Allaah. Every act done according to Allaah's
way is an act of worship. Man is the beneficiary and Allaah is in no
need; Allaah Says)what means(::"O mankind! It is you who stand in need
of Allaah, but Allaah is Rich )Free of all wants and needs(, Worthy of
All Praise."]Quran 35:15[

'Aa'ishah: the mother of the believers

When the Prophetemigrated from Makkah to Al-Madeenah he was
accompanied by Abu Bakr)'Aa'ishah's father( who had the most knowledge
about the Quraysh -- both the good and badaspects. He was a well-known
honorable merchant to whom people came to seek and gain more
knowledge.
'Aa'ishah's motherwas called Umm Rummaan bint 'Umayr bin 'Amer coming
from the sons of Al-Haarith bin Ghanam bin Ka'ab, and she was among
the first group who embraced Islam. She had been married to 'Abdullaah
bin 'Abdul-Asad before she married Abu Bakr, and she had a son from
her first husband called At-Tufayl, and she gave birth to 'Aa'ishah
and 'Abdur-Rahmaan from Abu Bakr. She emigrated to Al-Madeenah after
the establishment of Islam there. When she died, Abu Bakrsaid: "O
Allaah! You know best how Umm Rummaan was hurt for Your sake and the
sake of Your Prophet."
The Prophetused to entrust 'Aa'ishahto Umm Rummaan's charge and say:"O
Umm Rummaan, be kind to 'Aa'ishah and be mindful of me by this
kindness."
In fact, the Prophetused to love the clean and pure household of Abu
Bakrbecause the man of the house -- Abu Bakr -- was a man who needed
no introduction; his character and lineage were not something to
inquire about.
The Messenger of Allaahthought about proposing to 'Aa'ishahfor
marriage when Khawlah bint Haakim Al-Aslamiahsaid to him: "What do you
say about marrying 'Aa'ishah the daughter of Abu Bakr?"; he,
sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam then moved his head in the affirmative,
saying yes. Then Khawlah went to Umm Rummaan to tell her the news and
said: "O Umm Rummaan, youcannot imagine how Allaah has blessed your
house!"
Khawlahsaid: "The Messenger of Allaahsent me to seek 'Aa'ishah for
marriage." Umm Rummaansaid: "Wait for Abu Bakr, he is coming soon."
When Abu Bakrcame back, Khawlah told him the news and he said: "Is she
suitable for him? She is his niece." Khawlah then went back to the
Prophetandtold him what Abu Bakr had told her, and hesaid: "Go back
and tell Abu Bakr that he is my brother in Islam and I am his, and his
daughter is good enough for me."
Abu Bakr thought deeply about this and then went to Mut'am bin'Uday,
who had proposed 'Aa'ishahfor marriage to his son Jubayr. These people
were still disbelievers. When Abu Bakrentered their house, they said:
"O son of Abu Quhaafah, we fear that if our son married your daughter
'Aa'ishah, then she would convince him of Islam and we do not want
this to happen."
Abu Bakrdid not answer, buton the contrary he was very pleased with
that. In this way he was freed of their promise and he could give his
full agreement for the blessed marriage.
'Aa'ishahnarrated how she became married to the Messenger of Allaah,
sallallaahu ''alayhi wa sallam, and said: "The Prophetcame to our
house, and many people gathered there to meet him. Then my mother came
to me while I was playing, she took me to the door where the
Prophetwas sitting. I wasso embarrassed and I melted in shyness. Then
my mother put mebeside the Prophetand said: "This is your wife, may
Allaah bless her for you, and bless you for her." People then left the
room, and at that night nothing was slaughtered for me and I was nine
years old at that time." Although she was young, she was a mature girl
who had reached puberty. People described 'Aa'ishah on her wedding day
and said: "She was animble, wide-eyed bride, with curly hair and a
shiny face."
Whereas Khadeejahwas already a wise and mature woman when she married
the Prophet Muhammad'Aa'ishahwas a spirited young girl who still had a
great deal to learnwhen she married the Prophet. However, she was very
quickto learn, for she had a clear heart,a quick mind and an accurate
memory. She was not afraid to talk back in order to find out the truth
or make it known, and whenever she beat someone else in argument, the
Prophetwould smile and say: "She is the daughter of Abu Bakr!"
Moosaa bin Talhahonce said: "I have not seen anyone more eloquent than
'Aa'ishah." 'Aa'ishahbecame so wise that one of her contemporaries
used to say that if the knowledgeof 'Aa'ishah were placed on one side
of the scales and that of all other women on the other, 'Aa'ishah's
side would outweigh the others. She used to sit with the other women
and pass on the knowledge that she had received from the Prophet. She
was a source of knowledge and wisdom for both women andmen long after
the Prophetdied and as long as she lived. AbuMoosaaonce said:
"Whenevera report appeared doubtful to us)the Companions of the
Prophet( and we asked 'Aa'ishah about it, we always learned something
from her about it."
In addition to being extremely intelligent, 'Aa'ishahbecame a very
graceful young woman. When she first came to live in theProphet's
household as a young girl, a strong and lasting friendship grew up
between her and Sawdah, and Sawdahtook care of her along with the rest
of the household. When 'Aa'ishahgrew up, Sawdah, who was by then an
old woman, gave up her share of the Prophet's time in favor of
'Aa'ishah and was content to manage his household and be Umm al
Mu'mineen 'The Mother of the Believers' -- a title of respect that
was given to all the wives of the Prophetwhich confirmed what the
Quran clearlystates that no man could marry any of them after they had
been married to the Prophet:
}The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his
wives are )in the position of( their mothers.{]Quran 33:6[
During the nine years that 'Aa'ishahwas married to Prophet Muhammadshe
witnessed many of the great events that shaped the destiny ofthe first
Muslim community of Al-Madeenah al Munawarra: It was during the course
of their marriage that the direction of theQiblah was changed from
Jerusalem to Makkah, thereby distinguishing the Muslims more clearly
from Jews and Christians. It was during the course of their marriage
that she must have listened to many of the Jews, Christians and idol
worshippers who came not to listen to the Prophetbut to argue with
him, in the hope that they could find a plausible excuse to justify
their rejection of him. It was through exchanges such as thesethat
'Aa'ishahlearned to distinguish what was true from what was false.
As the prophetic guidance continued to be revealed throughthe Prophet
Muhammad, sallallaahu ''alayhi wa sallam, 'Aa'ishah's way of life,
along withthat of all the Muslims, was gradually reshaped and refined.
Itwas during the course of their marriage that drinking alcohol was
finally forbidden, it was made clear what food was allowed )Halaal(
and what was prohibited )Haraam(, it became necessary for women to
wear theHijaab in public and while praying, guidance regarding how to
fast was revealed, paying the Zakaat became obligatory on all Muslims
and all rites of Hajj were purified and clarified.
In fact, every aspect of life -- frombirth to death and everything
that happens in between -- was illuminated by the way in which the
Prophetbehaved. It was this way of behavior )the Sunnah(, that
'Aa'ishahhelped to preserve and protect, not only by embodying it
herself, but also by teaching it to others.
The life of 'Aa'ishahis proof that a woman can be far more learned
than men and that she can be the teacher of scholars and experts. Her
life is also a proof that a woman can exert influence over men and
women and provide them with inspiration and leadership . Her life is
also proof that the same woman can retain her feminity and be a source
of pleasure, joy and comfort to her husband.
'Aa'ishahspent her life with the Prophetuntil he died in her lap,
whereupon she said: "Hedied between my chest and my neck, then I put
his head on a pillow when people became very quiet while I was
mourning and suffering deep sadness."

The principles of Ghusl)taking bath(

A brief summary of the principles of Ghuslis as follows:
First,A Muslim should make his/her intention for purification, then
wash the privateparts. Then make Wudhoo' )ablution( like theWudhoo'
done for prayer, then pour water on hisright side, then the left side.
Then water should be poured on his head, covering the entire body with
water. It is also reported in the Sunnah)narrations of the Prophet
Muhammad( that washing the feet should be delayed until the end of the
Ghusl.
It is reported onthe authority of Aa'ishahwho said that theMessenger
of Allaahwhen performingGhusl from Janaabah)ritual impurity(, used to
wash hishands, then wash his private parts with hisleft hand. After
that he performed Wudhoo' like that for prayer. Next, he took
somewater and ran his fingers inthe roots of his hair until he
usedthree handfulsof water on his head. He would then go on pouring
water on the rest of his bodyand wash his legs. ]Muslim[
1. The person taking a bath should first of all wash both hands up to
the wrists, and then wash the private parts. The hands and private
parts should be washed irrespective of whether there is any impurity
on them or not. Both these have to be washed under all conditions.
Thereafter, any impurity found onthe rest of the body should be
washed. Then make Wudhoo'. If one is sitting on a stool or stone while
bathing, then the feet should also be washed when making Wudhoo'. But
if one is sitting in a place where the wateraccumulates and he will
have to wash the feet again after completing the Ghusl, then the
entire Wudhoo' should be made but the feet should not be washed.
After performing Wudhoo', pour water on the head three times.
Thereafter pour water over the right and left shoulders three times
each in such a way that water reaches the entire body. Thereafter move
from this place and go to a clean spot and wash the feet. If the feet
were washed when making Wudhoo' there willbe no need to wash them
again.
2. Whilst pouring water over the body the first time, rub the body
well so that water reaches everywhere properly and no placeremains
dry.
3. The above method of Ghusl is according to the Sunnah. Some ofthe
items explained above are Fardh )obligatory( without which Ghusl will
not be complete and the person will remain impure. Some other items
are Sunnah)recommended but not obligatory(. Observing them entails
reward, and by not carrying them out, Ghusl will still be complete.
The Fardh acts are only three:
)a( To gargle the mouth in such a way that water reaches everywhere.
)b( To wash the nose up to the soft bone.
)c( To pour water over the entire body.
4. While bathing, one should not face the Qiblah )direction of the
Ka'bah(. Too much water should not be used, nor should so little be
used that one is unable to wash thoroughly. The bath should be taken
at such a place that no one can see the bather. One should not talk
while bathing; he should cover himself up first and then wash the
feet.
5. If the bathing place is secludedwhere no one can see, then it is
permissible to bathe naked, irrespective of whether one is standing or
sitting and irrespective of whether the roof is covered or not.
However, it is better to sit and bathe because there is more modesty
in this. To expose the body from the navel to the knees before anyone
is a sin. Many women bath completely naked in the presenceof other
women. This is a very evil and shameful act.
6. Even if an area equal to a hair's breadth is left dry, Ghusl will
not be complete. In the same way, if one forgets to gargle the mouth
or wash the nose, Ghusl will not be complete.
7. If a woman pours water on herhead three times, that will be
sufficient and she does not need to undo the braids. This is based on
the Hadeeth )narration( ofUmm Salamah. It is narratedthat she asked
the Prophet:"I am a woman with braided hair;should I undo it when
doing Ghusl for Janaabah?" Heanswered:"No, rather it will be
sufficient for you to pour three handfuls of water on your head, then
pour water over yourself and you will be purified."]Muslim[.Unless the
Ghusl is after the menses, then she has to undo the braids and wash
her hair thoroughly.

Dought & clear - He is asking about dying in the month of Ramadaan.

Is it true that all those who die in Ramadan, goto Janat without being
questioned for their deeds?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Allaah has blessed some of the elite among His slaves with the promise
that they will enter Paradise without being brought to account and
without being punished. It was narrated that 'Abd-Allaah ibn 'Abbaas
(may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah(peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The nations were shown to
me and I saw aProphet with a small band of followers, and a Prophet
with one or twomen with him, and a Prophet who had no onewith him.
Then I was shown a huge multitude and I thought they were my ummah,
but it was said to me: This is Moosa (peace be upon him) and his
people. But look at the horizon. So I looked and saw a huge multitude,
and it was said to me: Look at the other horizon, and therewas
(another) huge multitude. And it was said to me: This is your ummah
and with them are seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without
being brought to account or punished."Then he got up and went into his
house, andthe people disputed about those who enter Paradise without
being brought to account or being punished. Some ofthem said: Perhaps
they are the ones who accompanied the Messenger of Allaah(peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him). Some of them said: Perhaps they are
the ones who were born in Islam and did not associate anything with
Allaah. And they mentioned other things. The Messenger of Allaah(peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out to them and said: "What
are you disputing about?" They told him, and he said: "They are the
ones who did not seek ruqyah or believe in bird omens, and they put
their trust in their Lord." 'Ukaashahibn Mihsan stood up andsaid: Pray
to Allaah to make me one of them. He said: "You will be oneof them."
Another man stood up and said: Pray to Allaah to make me one of them.
He said: " 'Ukaashah has beaten you to it."
Al-Bukhaari, 5705; Muslim, 220
He did not say that among these seventy thousand would be those who
died during the month of Ramadaan.Rather those who are mentioned are
the elite of the believers who achieved true belief in the oneness of
the Lord of the Worlds (Tawheed). It says inFathal-Majeed: The phrase
"and put their trust in their Lord" points to the basic principles
from which these actions and attributes stemmed, which is putting
one's trust in Allaah (tawakkul) and sincerelyturning to Him and
depending on Him. This is the ultimate Tawheed which raises a person
to a high status of love, hope, fear and being content with Allaah as
one's Lord and God, and being content with His decree. (p. 74)
Concerning the virtue of one who dies whilst fasting, it was narrated
that the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"Whoever says Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (there is no god but Allaah),
seeking the Face of Allaah and that was his final action, will enter
Paradise. Whoever fasts one day seeking the Face of Allaah and that
was his final action, will enter Paradise. Whoevergives charity
seeking theFace of Allaah and that was his final action will enter
Paradise." Narrated by Imam Ahmad, 22813, from the hadeeth of
Hudhayfah (may Allaah be pleased with him). Al-Albaani said inAhkaam
al-Janaa'iz: its isnaad is saheeh.
It should be noted that the previous hadeeth points to the high status
of those seventy thousand (may Allaah make us among them) with regard
to doing righteous deeds, which is what brought them to that status
before Allaah.Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have
mercy on him) said, after quoting this hadeeth inKitaab al-Tawheed:
"This is indicative of the depth of the knowledge of the salaf,
because they knewthat they could not attain that status except by
doing righteous deeds." It should be obvious to the questioner that if
there were anything special about dying in Ramadaan, this would apply
only to the believers and not all those who die in Ramadaan.
Similarly, with regard to the hadeeth quoted above concerning the
virtue of one who dies whilst fasting, which says that he will enter
Paradise, this promise is for one who does righteous deeds and that
was his final deed, not simply for dying in Ramadaan. Moreover, it
does not mention that specific virtue of entering Paradise without
being brought to account. And Allaah is the Source of strength.

Dought & clear - Are there airports and airplanes in Paradise?.

This might sound very childish but I would like to know if someone
likes something on earth very much , like anairplane for example , can
he get one in heaven ? can he get an airport as well ?.
Praise be to Allaah.
This question is not childish, rather it is prescribed for the
intelligent person to ask questions, seek benefits and look for that
which will increase his longing for Paradise and make him strive
harder to reach it. Some of the Companions of the Prophet(peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked him similar questions to this.
It was narrated from Sulaymaan ibn Buraydahfrom his father that a man
asked the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), "O
Messenger of Allaah, are there horses in Paradise?" He said, "If
Allaah admits you to Paradise, any time you wish to be carried on a
horse of red rubies that will fly with you wherever you want in
Paradise, you will do that." Another man asked him, "O Messengerof
Allaah, will there be camels in Paradise?" andhe did not say to him
something like he said to his companion. He said, "If Allaah admits
you to Paradise, you will have there whatever your heart desires."
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2543; this hadeeth was classed as hasan by
Shaykh al-Albaani inSaheeh al-Targheeb, 3/522.
With regard to the specific topic of your question, about a personwho
loves flying and airplanes, there are many saheeh ahaadeeth which
speak of a similar joy.
It was proven that the souls of the martyrs are in the crops of birds
in Paradise, flying wherever they wish. Narrated by Muslim, 2410.
It was proven that Ja'far ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with
him) flies in Paradise with two wings, as an honour from Allaah and to
replace his arms which were cut off in the battle of Mu'tah.
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah(peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "I saw Ja'far flying in
Paradise with the angels."
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3763; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani
inSaheeh al-Jaami', 3465.
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that
he used to say salaam to Ibn Ja'far and say, "Peace be upon you, O son
of the one with two wings." Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3506.
It seems that for a person to fly by himself is more exciting for
mostpeople than flying by means of something else. There are many
verses and ahaadeeth which say that people in Paradise will have
whatever their hearts desire and more.
As it says in the verse (interpretation of the meaning):
"Trays of gold and cups will be passed round them; (there will be)
therein all that inner-selves could desire, and all that eyes could
delight in and you will abide therein forever"
[al-Zukhruf 43:71]
Al-Sa'di said in his commentary on this verse:
"…all that inner-selves could desire…" – this phrase is
comprehensiveand includes every kind of blessing, joy, delight and
pleasure, in the most perfect and best sense.
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity) which they will enter,
under which rivers flow, they will have therein allthat they wish.
Thus Allaah rewards the Muttaqoon (the pious)"
[al-Nahl 16:31]
The Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allaah
says: 'I have prepared for My righteous slaves that which no eye has
seen, no ear has heard and it has never crossed the mind of man.'
Recite if you wish:'No person knows what is kept hidden for them of
joy as a reward for what they used to do' [al-Sajdah 32:17 –
interpretation of the meaning]."
Narrated by al-Bukhaari,3072; Muslim, 2824
A person should be certain of the absolute perfection of Paradise and
of its people's happiness.
With regard to being certain that there will beairplanes and airports
and other things for which no proof is narrated in the texts, this is
the matter of knowledge of the Unseen, which needs evidence.
We say as the Messenger(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
said: "If Allaah admits you to Paradise you will have therein whatever
your heart desires and whatever will delight you."
We ask Allaah to help us and you to do that which will lead us to
everlasting delight in Paradise.
And Allaah knows best.

Dought & clear - The reality of belief in the Last Day.

What is meant by belief in the Last Day?
Praise be to Allaah.
What is meant by belief in the Last Day is:
Firmly believing that everything that Allaah has told us about in His
Book and that His Messenger(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
has told us about what will happen after death, will indeed happen and
come to pass. That includes believing in the signs of the Hour which
will happen before the Last Day; in death and things that accompany it
when a person is on his deathbed; what comes after death, namely the
trial of the grave and torment or blessing therein; the Trumpet-blast
and resurrection; the standing and terrors of the Day of Resurrection;
the details of the gathering and reckoning; Paradise and its delights,
the greatest of which will be looking upon the Face of Allaah; Hell
and its torments, themost severe of which will be their being
veiledfrom seeing their Lord. And belief in the Last Dayincludes
acting in accordance with what is implied by these beliefs.
If this belief is firmly established in a person's heart, it will bear
great fruits, including the following:
1 – The desire to do acts of obedience and worship, and to strive hard
in doing so, in the hope of attaining the rewards of that Day.
2 – Fear of committing sin or approving of it, for fear of the
punishment of that Day.
3 – The believer will be consoled for whatever he misses out on of
worldly luxuries and delights, because of his hope for the delights
and rewards of the Hereafter.
We ask Almighty Allaah to bless us with sincere belief and unshakeable
certainty of faith… Ameen.

Islamic Stories of Prophets: Prepare for Death. It can strike anytime

One day, Prophet Sulayman (as), with the staff in his land, was
viewing the kingdom around him, when he saw a young man approaching
him. He wassurprised and asked him,"Who are you and who gave you
permission to enter the palace?"
The visitor replied, "I have come in with the permission of Allah
(swt), the owner of the universe. I am the angel of death and Allah
has sent me to take your life away."
Prophet Sulayman (as) said, "Then allow me to go home to prepare for
death and rest on my bed". The Angel said:"No".
While Prophet Sulayman (as) stood leaning on his staff, his soul left
him. His body remained standing for such a long time that the people
and the Jinn's believed him to have become a spirit or a magician.
They carried on with the work entrusted to them by Prophet Sulayman
(as), until Allah (swt) caused the ants to eat away the staff he was
leaning on and his body fell to the ground. Prophet Sulayman (as)
ruled for forty years and died at the age of fifty-three.

Worth and Significance of Bismillah: Ring in the Stomach of the Fish

There was once a lady who always said Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the
name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before she did anything.
She knew that Allah would then always be with her. One day, sheput her
ring in the cupboard and as usual she said Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
(In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before she put it
away. She knew that it would be safe.
Her husband took the ring and threw it in the river. He wanted to
proveto her that only saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of
Allah, the beneficent the merciful) would not keepit safe. He thought
that inthe evening he would ask her where the ring was and it would
not be there.
Later that morning, the lady went to the market to buy some fish. When
she was cleaning the fish at home she found her ring inside the
stomach of the fish. She wondered how it got there but then put it
backin its place in the cupboard saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In
the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful).
When her husband came back from work, he asked her where the ringwas.
She brought it from the cupboard. He was so surprised!
He told her what he had done and apologized to her. He also truly
believed that Allah is with the person who
saysBismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the
merciful) before he/she does anything.

Muslims apply their own beliefs to live in friendship with the people of the book

In the Qur'an, Allah commands friendship, love, brotherhood and
goodness on Muslims. As a requirement of these moral values, Muslims
treat the people of the Book, who believe in Allah and His prophets,
with friendship and toleration. Allah has described the relations that
Muslims should enjoy with the people ofthe Book in a number of verses:
Among the people of theBook there are some who have faith in Allah and
in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down to them, and
who are humble before Allah. They do not sell Allah's Signs for a
paltry price. Such people will have their reward with their Lord. And
Allah is swift atreckoning. (Surah Al 'Imran, 199)
Allah does NOT FORBID you from BEING GOOD to those who have not fought
you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just
towards them. Allah loves those who are just. (Surat al-Mumtahana, 8)
Those who have faith and those who are JEWS and the sabaeans and the
CHRISTIANS, all who have faith in Allah and the Last Day and act
rightly will FEEL NO FEAR and will KNOW NO SORROW. (Surat al-Ma'ida,
69)
As can be seen from these verses, Muslims adopt the friendly attitude
required by Qur'anic moral values toward the people of the Book. They
eat with the people of the Book, ask after their health, enjoy
friendly and brotherly relations with them, run to help when they fall
ill or are in needand give them alms if necessary. However, He has
also forbidden relations with the people of the Book "to be of such a
kind as might prevent Muslims living by their own beliefs." For that
reason, Muslims do not select individuals from the people of the Book
who might manage them, and do not come under their influence and never
accept their rules on the subject of religion. Allah has set this out
in verse 51 of Sura al-Ma'ida:
You who believe! Do nottake the Jews and Christians as your friends;
they are the friends of one another. Any of you who takes them as
friends is one ofthem. Allah does not guide wrongdoing people. (Surat
al-Ma'ida, 51)
The word "friends" appears two times in this verse. One of the Arabic
words for friend, "evliyau", means"protectors, those responsible
under the law, guardians, lords, owners, kings." The other word is
"Yatawallahum". This means "undertaking the care of, acting as a
ruler, assuming the management of." In other words, the word "friend"
in this verse appears in the sense of "manager." Allah tells Muslims
not to come under their (Christians and Jews) direction. (Prof. Dr.
Bayraktar Bayraklı,Text of the Qur'an)
Yaşar Nuri Öztürk interprets this verse about the people of the Book,
which commands Muslims not establish bonds of friendship in the sense
of "choosing a manager," as follows:
"Do not make Jews and Christians your leaders. The Qur'an calls on the
people of the Book to beintegrated with Muslims around the oneness of
Allah and wishes to expand the sphere of believers in Allah. This is
an international solidarity and togetherness based on universal
values. However, the Qur'an saysthat the people of the Book are not
to be takenas guides." (The Qur'an in Islam, Yaşar Nuri Öztürk, p.
474)
As can clearly be seen from this commentary, Muslims establish all
kinds of human friendship with the people of the Book but do not make
such people their leaders because their beliefs andculture may
conflict. Because developing sucha friendship and taking one of the
people of the Book as a guide would give rise to a contradiction here.
A Muslim cannot abide by such direction. He does not accept such a
friendship. If they acceptbeing under such an administration, Muslims
could end up becoming assimilated, it will be harder for them to live
by their beliefs and they might experience difficulties in performing
their religious observations. They might lose their cultures. But
Allah advises Muslims to establish a bond of friendship, brotherhood
and love, that excludes direction of that kind, with the people of the
Book.
In the Qur'an, Allah commands Muslims to make even those who ascribe
partners to Allah reach their destinations in safety. He advises them
to forgive murderers. When Allah enjoins such wide-ranging love,
affection, friendship andgoodness on Muslims, Healso, of course,
commands the establishment of such a bond with the people of the
Allah, who also believe in Him. Surah Al 'Imran reveals how the people
of the Book believe in Allah and the Day of Judgment, command what is
good and avoid what is evil, prostrate themselves in prayer and
compete to perform good deeds:
They are not all the same. There is a community among the People of
the Book who are upright. They recite Allah's Signs throughout the
night, and they prostrate. They have faith in Allah and the Last Day,
and enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and compete in doing good.
They are among the true believers. You will not bedenied the reward
for any good thing you do. Allah knows those who have fear for Allah.
(Surah Al 'Imran, 113-115)
Muslims and the people of the Book are friends and are agreed on the
existence of Allah, Paradise and Hell. However, Muslims cannot support
their ideas that are based on polytheism and opposedto the Qur'an and
cannotestablish friendships with them on these matters. In that sense,
and as revealed in Surat al-Ma'ida, they cannot take them as their
guides if they are to freely abide by their beliefs and religious
obligations.

Selfishness brings nothing but loss

One of the signs of believers' faith is their moral virtues. Since
they aim to attain Allah's (God's) approval in everything they do they
are always careful to make their surroundingsagreeable. One
significant attribute of a devout believer is that he is loyal and
determined. Believers give thanks for the blessings Allah bestows on
them and always think of other believers first in all matters, even if
they themselves are in need. They never exhibitan avaricious
character. Allah describes this moral virtue of believers thus in the
Qur'an:
"They give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans
and captives: 'We feed you only out of desire for the Face of Allah.
We do not want any repaymentfrom you or any thanks…'" (Surat al-Insan,
8-11)
Believers, who regard other people as manifestations of Allah, have a
great love for other believers that stems from their love of Him.
Because of their faith and fear of Allah, they display a parental
virtue. The well-being ofother believers makes them happier than their
own. In one verse Allah says:"You see them bowing and
prostrating, seeking Allah's good favour and His pleasure. Their mark
is on their faces, the traces of prostration." (Surat al-Fath, 29)The
light of faith and moral probity of believers who turn to Allah is
reflected in their faces.
On the other hand, thinking of their worldlydesires alone put peoplein
a humiliating position. In the words ofthe Qur'an,"Truly man was
created headstrong – desperate when bad things happen, begrudging when
good things come –" (Surat al-Ma'arij, 19-21)Allah reveals the
selfishness and weakness inherent in earthly desires.
However, people who believe in and fear Allah overcome these
deficiencies inherent in their earthly desires through faith and moral
virtues, by proper making use of their consciences. But those who
strive to possess thetemporary baubles of the life of this world
imagine that selfishness puts them in a beneficialposition. The fact
is, however, that the benefits they obtain through selfishness do
terrible damage to their souls. These people's hearts become
hardenedto the praise of Allah. They therefore fail to seethe beauties
and manifestations of Allah around them and are unable to properly
appreciate His might andpower. These people, who turn their backs on
moral virtues and seek only their own worldly desires, are unable to
turn to Allah in a profound closeness. Their failure to heed their
consciences and their selfish behavior also impacts on their faces.
The faces of believers, who do heed the voice of their consciences,
are radiant like those of the prophets, while the faces of the former
display a spiritual rigidity born from selfishness.
Since believers place their trust in Allah, they never thirst for the
life of this world and its attractions. They accept everything that
Allah ordains for them in theirdestinies. And Allah bestows great
blessings and ease on them because of these moral values. They enjoy
the peace of mind that comes from submission to Allah. Those who
follow the selfish passions of their earthly desires imagine that the
benefits they gain through such moral values can really make them
happy. But the result is very different. Allah only bestows true
happiness on believers who live their lives for His approval. No
blessingobtained through selfishness in the life of this world can
replace Muslims' spiritual peace and happiness, the profound
satisfaction that comes from moral values displayed for Allah's
approval. Believers, who know that earthly desires cannot bestow any
happiness beyond what Allah desires, keenly avoid complying with these
desires and turn toAllah in full submission. They experience a
profound satisfaction from overcoming their earthly passions in
orderto gain the love of Allah and from happily and willingly making
sacrifices for His sake. Our Almighty Lord tells us of these servants
whoexhibit such superior moral virtues in the Qur'an:
"Those who were already settled in the abode, and in faith, before
they came, love those who have made migrated to them and do not find
in their hearts any need for what they have been given and prefer them
to themselves even if they themselves are needy. It is the people who
are safe-guarded from the avarice of their own selves who are
successful." (Surat al-Hashr, 9)

Those who ascribe equals to Allah will encounter the horror in their minds in the hereafter

Everyone who does not believe in Allah (God) who fails to properly
appreciate Him and to perform his duty to serve Him will be
recompensed in Hell in the eternal life of the Hereafter. Yet it is as
if some people were intoxicated in the face ofthis manifest truth. It
is possible to give unbelieving evolutionists as example of such
people.
Unbelieving evolutionists spend theirwhole lives denying (surely Allah
is beyond that) Allah's existence. They have made defending this
heretical ideology the main purpose of their lives. There is no doubt
that their reward for this in Allah's presence will be very terrible.
But every lie they tell and every unscientific scenario they produce
to turn people from belief in Allah will confront them in Hell as the
dark world of the evolutionary myths in their own minds. Unbelieving
evolutionists will encounter the same horrendous moral conceptions in
Hell that they have in their minds now. Unless Allah wills otherwise,
deniers will suffer an eternal life full of torment. (Allah knowsthe
truth.)
"We created many of thejinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts
they do not understand with. They have eyes they do not see with. They
have ears they do not hear with. Such people are like cattle. No, they
are even further astray! They are the unaware." (Surat al-A'raf, 179)
One of the distinguishing features of evolutionist propaganda is that
it is made up of stories basedon evolutionists' own imaginations. A
scientist telling the story generally sets up evolutionary scenarios
with his own personal conceptions and by misinterpreting scientific
findings through having adoptedevolution as a dogma. That scientist
will then seek to impose that scenario on people, suggesting it is a
thesis based on sound scientific evidence. In fact, what evolutionists
do is to portray wild pigs' teeth as human teeth or else produce hoax
skulls by putting bones belonging to different life forms together.
Devoid of any evidence with which to prove their theories, Darwinists
have no problem with adding a great many imaginary elements to their
tales. The fact is, however, that this is an unscientific propaganda
technique based on preconception alone.
Imagining that they can deceive people in this way, unbelieving
Darwinists have ignored one very important matter for the last 150
years:These scenarios they have produced in order to deny the
existence of Allah (surelyour Lord is beyond that) and impose the
fraud of evolution on humanity, and which merely reflecttheir own
unhealthy states of mind, will rise up before them, one by one, in
Hell. (Allah knowsthe truth)Allah has created every detail of life in
Hell as a response to the deniers. There aremany verses in the Qur'an
that describe the torment-filled life of Hell in both physical and
alsopsychological and social terms. Looking at the details about Hell
that Almighty Allah reveals in these verses, it is clear that Allah
has prepared Hell as a reward for unbelievers who deny Him and take
chance as their deities (surely our Lord is beyond that), in amanner
that parallels their heretical beliefs. The fictitious process of
evolution that they have been trying to impose on humanity for
centuries will itself be imposed on evolution, skipping not a single
detail. Everything, from their food to their clothes, from the
terrifying human forms in Hell to their life styles full of mental and
physical suffering, will be as dark and painful asin their own
scenarios. In this way, unbelieving evolutionists will encounter a
climate and philosophy of life that matches their own ideas.Parallel
to their own claims, they will live alongside terrifying creatures
like the intermediate forms they invented in their own imaginations,
will be subjected to an endless class conflict, will be denigrated
because of ideas about master racesand will suffer in the kind of dark
and smoky environment they claim existed in the primeval world.
(Surely Allah knows the truth.)
We can describe the environment that exists in the minds of persons,
who deny Allah's sublime creation (Allah isbeyond that) and who invent
all kinds of tales about how the universe, the world and human beings
came into existence, and that they will themselves experience in Hell,
as follows:
1- What Do Unbelieving EvolutionistsMaintain?
They Claim Human Beings, That Allah Created with Such Superior
Features, Are Descended from Apes
Evolutionists claim that human beings, entities possessed of
consciousness and free will and able to think, reason, and make
decisions and judgments, are descended from apes, which in terms of
consciousness, are no different from horses or mice.
What Will Happen in Hell?
Those Who Deny Allah's Creation (Surely Allah is beyond that) Will Be
Made Despicable Apes in This World and the Hereafter
"We said to them,'BE APES, DESPISED, CAST OUT.'" (Surat al-Baqara, 65)
"Say: 'Shall I tell you of areward with Allah far worse than that:
that of those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He is angry –
turning some of themINTO MONKEYS AND INTO PIGS –AND WHO WORSHIPPED
FALSE DEITIES? Such people are in a worse situation and further from
the right way.'" (Surat al-Ma'ida, 60)
"When they were insolent about what they had been forbidden to do, We
saidto them, 'BE APES!'" (Surat al-A'raf, 166)
2- What Do Unbelieving EvolutionistsMaintain?
They Claim That Human Beings Evolved from So-Called Reptiles
Evolutionists claim that all the living species on Earth came about
through evolution over a very long period of time. According to this
fictitious scenario, some fish felt the need to move to dry land for
various reasons, and a number of changes then began taking place in
them. As fish gradually moved onto dry land they slowly turned into
amphibians and initiated the supposed process of evolution.
What Will Happen in Hell?In the Hereafter, Almighty Allah Will
Assemble the Unbelievers in Hell by Dragging Them on Their Faces,
'Like the Reptiles in the Scenario of Evolution'
"Whoever Allah guides istruly guided. But as for those He leads
astray, you will not find any protectors for them apart from Him.WE
WILL GATHER THEMon the Day of Resurrection,FLAT ON THEIR FACES, BLIND,
DUMBAND DEAF. Their shelter will be Hell. Whenever the Blaze dies
down, We will increase it for them." (Sura al-Isra', 97)
"the DayTHEY ARE SHOVED ROUGHLYinto theFire of Hell: 'This is the Fire
which you denied!'"(Surat at-Tur, 13-14)
3- What Do Unbelieving EvolutionistsMaintain?
They Claim That They AreDescended "from So-Called Intermediate Forms
That Were Unable to Speak, See or Hear"
According to what evolutionists claim, thereshould have been many life
forms that reflected the transition between two species and that bore
the features of both. For example, before fish moved onto dry land and
turned intoreptiles a great many half-lunged and half-gilled, or
half-legged and half finned life forms must have existed. Or until
apes finally turned into human beings many half-human and half-apelife
forms must have existed over many millions of years. Evolutionists
call these fictitious entities they believe once existed "intermediate
forms." According to their scenario, during the time of this
intermediarytransition, a major stage in the so-called evolutionary
process, there must have been many life forms with deficient or
missing organs between two different species, for which reason there
musthave been creatures thatcould not see or hear. The fact is,
however, that no evidence for onesingle intermediate formhas been
found in any ofthe millions of fossil specimens that have been
extracted from the different strata of the Earth.
What Will Happen in Hell?
Allah Will Assemble the Unbelievers as Entities "Unable to See, Hear
or Speak," Just Like They Wanted
"But if anyone turns away from My reminder, his life will be a dark and
narrow one and on the Day of RisingWE WILL GATHER HIM BLIND."(Surah
Ta-Ha, 124)
"...SO WE PUT OUT THEIR EYES: 'Taste My punishment and warnings!'"
(Surat al-Qamar, 37)
"…WE WILL GATHER THEMon the Day of Resurrection, flat on their
faces,BLIND, DUMB AND DEAF. Their shelter will be Hell. Whenever the
Blaze dies down, We will increase it for them." (Sura al-Isra', 97)

Jesus' Superior Character

JESUS' SUPERIOR CHARACTER
The hadith literature reveals many important truths about Jesus. Some
hadiths inform us that hewas of medium height, had white skin with a
hue of red, straight hair, and was very handsome. He had
shoulder-length hair and wore a woolen cloak and sandals made of bark.
He often removed himself from this world, had a strong desire for the
Hereafter, and spent much time worshipping God. 1Otherhadiths describe
this astonishingly handsome and holy man as follows:
While I was asleep, I saw myself (in a dream) making tawaf (circling)
around the Ka`bah. I saw a brown-skinned man with straight hair being
supported by two men, and with water dripping from his head. I
asked:"Who is this?" They said:"The son of Mary." (Sahih Bukhari)
When you see him, you will recognize him. He is of medium height, and
his coloring is reddish-white. He will be wearing two garments, and
his hair will look wetalthough no water will have wet it. (Ahmad ibn
Hanbal, Musnad)
Like every chosen and sent Prophet, Jesus had the highest form of
character. One of his most distinguishing features was his high
standard of morals and noble personality, which had an immediate
effect on people. In addition, he had a strong personality due to his
complete trust, reliance, and faith in God; was decisive and
courageous;and could not be manipulated by society. The following
verses reveal his superiority:
This is the argument We gave to Abraham againsthis people. We raise in
rank anyone We will. Your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing. We gave him
Isaac and Jacob, each of whom We guided. And before him We had guided
Noah. And among his descendants were David,Solomon, Job, Joseph,
Moses, and Aaron. That ishow We recompense thegood-doers. And
Zechariah, John, Jesus, and Elias. All of them were among the
righteous. And Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot. Allof them We favored
overall beings. And some of their forebears, descendants, and
brothers; We chose themand guided them to a straight path. That is
God's guidance. He guides by it those of His servants He wills ...
(Qur'an, 6:83-88)
Jesus was also a just, modest, compassionate, sincere, honest,
selfless person and a chosen Prophet. In one verse, God says the
following about him:
These Messengers: We favored some of them over others. God spoke
directly to some of them and raised up some of them in rank. We gave
Clear Signs to Jesus, son of Mary, and reinforced him with the Purest
Spirit. (Qur'an, 2:253)
When we look at Jesus' life, we can see his high morality. First of
all, he was a discerning leader who taught the true religion to his
people. He was the most obedient toGod's commandments and
recommendations, and was a guide who rid people of myths. The Qur'an
reveals that Jesus was diligently fulfilling all of the requirements
ofworship and morality:
He [Jesus] said: "I am the servant of God. He has given me the Book
and made me a Prophet. He has made me blessed wherever I am, directed
me to perform prayer and give alms as long as I live, and to show
devotion to my mother."(Qur'an, 19:30-32)
Throughout his life, Jesusspoke wisely and effectively and knew right
from wrong. He replied with insight and reason to all of his enemies'
questions posed to catch him and defeated all of their attempts. He
remained true to God, irrespective of his people's attitude toward
him, drew strength from his strong faith and devotion, and explained
God's existence in the most effective way.
Like all other Prophets, Jesus used plain, clear, and intelligible
languagewhen preaching. His allegories moved people's conscience, and
encouraged them to reflect deeply and to behave according to God's
good pleasure. Jesus' love for God, as well as his exuberant faith and
diligence in following God's orders, isevident from his teachings. His
method of preaching shows clearly that God chose him above all other
people.

Jesus' Life

JESUS' LIFE
According to the historical sources, Mary was born at a time when the
chaos mentioned earlier in the book was happening, when
Romanoppression was real, and the Jews were impatiently awaiting the
Messiah's arrival. She wasa descendent of `Imran, whose family had
been made superior by God (Qur'an, 3:33). God chose her from among
them, purified her, and placed her above all other women, for as the
Qur'anreveals:
And when the angels said: "Mary, God has chosen you and purified you.
He has chosen you over all other women. Mary, obey your Lord
andprostrate and bow with those who bow." (Qur'an,3:42-43)
The family of `Imran was known to believe in God, to seek His good
pleasurein whatever they do, andto always respect the limits that He
has established. When Imran's wife learned of her pregnancy, she
immediately turned to God in prayer and dedicated her unborn child to
God. It is a sign of her true submission to God that she named her
child Maryam (Mary in English), meaning"someone who is always
worshipping God." This subject is revealed in the Qur'an:
Remember when the wife of 'Imran said: "My Lord, I have pledged to You
what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service]. Please accept
myprayer. You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing." When she gave
birth, she said: "My Lord! I have given birth to a girl"-and God knew
very well what she had given birth to, male and female are not the
same-"and I have named her Mary and placed her and her children in
Your safekeeping from the accursed Satan." (Qur'an, 3:35-36)
God reveals that Mary's mother dedicated her to God, "consecrated for
His service." The Arabic wordused here, i.e., muharraran, means "one
who is wholly preoccupied with the Hereafter, who has no business with
the world, who worships God at all times, who is in the service of the
House of God, who is sincere in hisor her worship and, who has no
worldly intentionsin his or her worship." Imran's wife asked God to
allow Mary to serve only Him, and for her to become totally devoted to
His good pleasure rather than other people's.
When Mary was born, Imran's wife asked God to protect Mary and her
descendents from the evilof Satan. God answered her sincere prayer and
gave Mary a superior morality. The Qur'an reveals how carefully Mary
was raised under God's protection:
Her Lord accepted her with approval and made her grow in health and
beauty. And Zechariah became her guardian. (Qur'an, 3:37)
God states that Zechariahwas a righteous servant who was favored over
allbeings, and one guided to a straight path as a Prophet. God praises
him in the Qur'an and points out his impeccable character (Qur'an,
6:85-87). Zechariah, who took on the responsibility of caring for Mary
and thus witnessed many of her miracles, realized that she was God's
chosen one.
For instance, whenever Zechariah entered the presence of Mary, who
always worshipped by herself, he found food with her. The Qur'an says:
Every time Zechariah visited her in the prayingchamber, he found food
with her. He said: "Mary, how did you come by this?" She said: "It is
fromGod. God provides for whoever He wills withoutany reckoning."
(Qur'an, 3:37)
Mary became well knownin her community as a member of her family who
was dedicated wholeheartedly to God. The Qur'an speaks of her chastity
in particular, as follows:
And Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity-We
breathedOur Spirit into her, and she confirmed the Words of her Lord
and His Book and was one of the obedient. (Qur'an, 66:12)
Mary's Encounter with Gabriel
Mary's life was full of miracles, one of which was her encounter with
Gabriel. At a particular stage in her life, Mary lefther community and
family and secluded herself somewhere in theeast. There, the Qur'an
mentions that Gabriel appeared to her in the form of a man:
Mention Mary in the Book, how she withdrewfrom her people to an
eastern place and veiled herself from them. Then We sent Our Spirit to
her, and it took on for her theform of a handsome, well-built man. She
[Mary] said: "I seek refuge from you with theAll-Merciful if you guard
against evil." (Qur'an, 19:16-18)
At first, she did not know that the unknown personwas Gabriel. Thus,
she immediately sought refuge with God when he approached and said
that she was a God-fearing believer. Herwords make it clear that she
was a God-fearing and chaste servant. Gabriel introduced himself by
stating that hewas sent by God to give her the following good news:
He said [to Mary]: "I am only your Lord's messenger so that He cangive
you a pure boy." (Qur'an, 19:19)
When the angels said:"Mary, your Lord gives you good news of a Word
from Him. His nameis the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, of high esteem
in this world and the Hereafter, one of those brought near." (Qur'an,
3:45)
Mary received this important news and asked Gabriel how she could have
a child while she was still a virgin:
She said: "How can I havea boy when no man has touched me and I am not
an unchaste woman?" Hesaid: "It will be so, for your Lord says: 'That
is easy for Me. It is so that We can make him a Sign for mankind and a
mercyfrom Us.' It is a matter already decreed." So she conceived him
and withdrew with him to a distant place. (Qur'an, 19:20-22)
She said: "My Lord, how can I have a son when noman has yet touched
me?" He said: "It will be so." God creates whatever He wills. When He
decides on something,He just says to it "Be!" and it is. (Qur'an,
3:47)
Gabriel replied that God has the power to do anything and that He
needs only to say "Be!" and it is. This is how Maryconceived Jesus-by
the will of God and without ever being touched by a man. Her pregnancy
was created independent of the worldly order in a miraculous way. As
our Lord reveals, after receiving this good news, Mary withdrew to
somewhere quiet. God supported her during that time in every way and
provided all that a pregnant woman could wish for psychologically as
well as materially. He made her withdraw fromher people, who would not
have been able to comprehend her situation, and thereby prevented the
physical orspiritual damage that they could have caused her.
