*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

1a] Dealing with a Child's Fear

1a]
- Not satisfying his need for success. It was narrated that 'Ali (may
Allaah be pleased with him) said: "I never heard the Messenger of
Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saying 'May my
father andmother be sacrificed for you' to anyone, except Sa'd, to
whom I heard himsay, 'Shoot, may my fatherand mother be sacrificed for
you!' And I think that was on the day of Uhud." (Narrated by
al-Bukhaari, no. 6184; Muslim, no. 2411). This shows that parents
should encouragetheir children no matter what the level of quality of
their performance, so that they will motivated to do even better.
- Going to extremes in physical punishment and dealing harshly with
them. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) said: "Whoeveris deprived of gentleness is deprived of all
goodness." (Narrated by Muslim, no. 2292).
- Difficult living conditionswhich lead the parents to vent their
anger on their children - such as a lack ofharmony between the
spouses, or the mother's work, or not being happy at work. The
Messenger ofAllaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"The strong man is not the onewho can wrestle another to the ground,
rather the strong man is the one who can control himself at times of
anger." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 6116).
Finally, we must point outthat this does not mean that the child
should never be afraid. Fear is necessary in some cases, because it is
essential to the child's survival. He must fear Allaah, and fear the
harm that people maydo, and fear committing sin, etc. That should be a
natural kind of fear, not too great or too small.
From Tanshiy'at al-Fataat al-Muslimah, p. 159, by Hanaan 'Atiyah
al-Toori al-Juhani.

Dealing with a Child's Fear

Specialists in child psychology think that in his first year a child
may show signs of fear when hearing a sudden noise, orif something
falls suddenly, and so on. A child may be afraid of strangers starting
from the age of approximately six months, and in the second year a
child may be afraid of many things such as animals, cars, slopes,
water, etc.
In general, females show more fear than males, andthe intensity of the
fear may vary according to theintensity of the child's imagination;
the more imaginative a child is, the more fearful he may be.
Several factors and reasons may increase a child's fears, such as:
- The mother scaring her child with ideas of ghosts and ghouls, or
soldiers, or shadows, or 'ifreets (jinn) or strange creatures, etc.
- Too much coddling on the part of the parents, or their being too
anxious and sensitive about him.
- Raising the child in isolation, keeping him within the four walls of
the house.
- Telling fairy stories that have to do with jinns and 'ifreets...
... and other reasons.
A child may be made susceptible to fear by picking up the fears of his
parents through what he sees. Fears acquired in thismanner are
characterized by their lengthy duration. Hence, setting a good example
plays a major role in training a child notto be afraid. What is
required here is an example of bravery in all kinds of different
situations, and not being afraid of animals that are not harmful or of
people in high positions when demanding one's rights, and generally
not being afraid for no reason.
In order to deal with a child's fears, the parents must pay attention
to a number of matters, including:
- Bringing him up from the earliest age to believein Allaah and
worship Him, and to turn to Him inall situations of anxiety and fear.
- Giving the child some freedom and responsibilities, and letting him
do things, according to his stage of development.
- Not scaring him, especially when he cries, with ideas of ghosts,
hyenas, thieves, jinn and 'ifreets, etc. This comes under the heading
of"better", as in the hadeeth: "The strong believer is better and is
more loved by Allaah thanthe weak believer." (Narrated by Muslim, no.
2664).
- Encouraging him from an early age to mix with others and giving him
theopportunity to meet themand get to know them, so that he will feel
from the depth of his heart that he is loved and respected by everyone
whom he meetsand gets to know.
What the psychologists and educationalists adviseis giving the child
the opportunity to get to know the thing that is frightening him, so
that if he is afraid of the dark, there is nothing wrong with letting
him play withthe light-switch, turning itoff and on; if he is afraid
of water there is nothing wrong with letting him play with a little
water in a small bowl, and so on...
- Parents can also tell him stories of the heroic salaf (early
generations of Islam), and train him to adopt the attitudes of the
Sahaabah, so that he will develop a brave and heroic nature.
But if the child's fear is a form anxiety, then its cause may be a
number ofinterconnected factors which according to the Sunnah of the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), should be dealt
with in a wise and careful manner. These factors include:
- Giving the child more to do than he is able, as the Prophet (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "He who does not show mercy
to our young ones and acknowledge the rights ofour old ones is not one
of us." (Narrated by Abu Dawood, no. 4943; al-Tirmidhi, 1921; also
narrated in Saheeh al-Jaami' by al-Albaani, 5444).

Chaining up of the Devils in Ramadan

It was proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) said: "When Ramadaan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened,
and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up."
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3277; Muslim, 1079. According to
al-Nasaa'i:"The most evil jinn are chained up."
This does not mean that the devils have no influence at all, rather it
indicates that they become weaker in Ramadaan and are not able to do
what they are able to do at times other than Ramadaan.
It may be interpreted as meaning that the ones who are chained up are
the most evil devils, not all of them.
Al-Qurtubi said: If it is said, how come we see many evil actions and
sinsbeing committed in Ramadaan, for if the devils were chained up,
that would not happen?
The answer is that (evil actions) are reduced on the part of those who
fastmeeting all the conditionsof fasting and paying attention to the
etiquette of fasting.
Or some of the devils - namely the most evil ones- are chained up, not
all ofthem, as previously mentioned in some reports.
Or it may mean that evil actions are reduced in Ramadaan, which is
something that we can see. Even though evil actions happen in
Ramadaan, they are less than at other times. Even if all of the devils
were to be chained up, that does not mean that no evil action would
happen, because there are other causes of evil action besides the
devils, such asevil souls, bad habits and the human devils.
From Fath al-Baari.

Hadees

One of the companions of the Prophet (sallAllahu ályhi wasallam said:
'The people as long as theyare in good health, good shape, good
condition they are covered. You don't know their true character
because they arein good situation, they are in good circumstance. As
long as they are in a good circumstances they are covered. But if a
trial or difficulty or a hardship comes upon them, then you will see
their reality. They will go to their reality. The Mu'min will run to
his Imaan, the Mu'min will run to his belief, the believer will runto
his belief, his Imaan andthe hypocrite will run to his hypocrisy, and
the hypocrite will run to his hypocrisy. "Without being shaken, you
don't not know what comes to the top and what goes to the bottom.
Without being shaken you don't know a man from those who are faking;
you won't know women from those who are faking. You won't know those
who truly believe from those who don't. Those who make a claim on
their tongue andis not really in their hearts and from their limbs
from those who are willing to die for this matter. This can only be
shown by trials, the tribulations and tests and difficulties."
Imam Ahmed brought it and Sheikh Nassir brings inhis Saheehah No. 147
: Suhaib said that,
'We were sitting with the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhiwa sallam) and
suddenly he laughed. Suddenly the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhiwa
sallam) laughed. He asked his companions: 'Won't you ask me what I am
laughing about?.' So they asked the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa
sallam) 'what are you laughing about ?' So he said : 'I laughed
because I was astonished at the affair of a believer.' (Listen these
are words of Musthafa alaihi salam. He doesn't speak of his own
desires whatever he speaks it is revelation; Listen, these are words
of Rasulullah describing a believer.).
All of his affairs, all of his circumstances are good, allof it. If
something happensto him that he loves, if Allah blesses him with
something that he loves, then he praises Allaah and this is good. And
if something happens to him, if he is put into some difficulty, test
or tribulation or hardship or something that he hates, he is patient
and that is good for him. And no one's situation is totally good
except the believer. And no one else's affair, no one else's
circumstance, no one else's condition, no one else's situation is
totally good except the mu'min, except the believer.'

Does the hadeeth “I am not afraid that you will worship others along with Allah after my death” mean that shirk will never occur among this ummah?

Narrated 'Uqba bin 'Amir:
Bukhari - Volume 2, book 23, number 428: Narrated'Uqba bin 'Amir: One
day the Prophet went out andoffered the funeral prayers of the martyrs
of Uhud and then went up the pulpit and said, "I will pave the way for
you as your predecessor and will be a witness on you. By Allah! I see
my Fount (Kauthar) just now and I have been given the keys of all the
treasures of the earth (or the keys of the earth). By Allah! I am not
afraid that you will worship others along with Allah after my
death, but I am afraid that you will fight with one another for the
worldly things." This hadeeth is often used by those comitting bidah
as justification for some of the acts which can be labeled as "shirk"
(such as calling out on others besides Allah, grave worshipping,
etc.). The claim is that the Ummah of the Prophet (SAW) are not at
risk of comitting shirk. What is the correct interpretation of this
hadeeth.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
The hadeeth was narratedby al-Bukhaari (1344) andMuslim (2296) from
'Uqbah ibn 'Aamir, and says that the Prophet (blessings and peace of
Allah be upon him) came out one day and prayed for the people of Uhud
as he used to pray for the dead. Then he went to theminbar and said:
"I will bethere ahead of you, and I will be your witness. By Allaah, I
can see my Cistern now. I am given the keys to the treasures of the
earth, or the keys to the earth. By Allaah, I do not fear that you
will associate others with Allaah after I am gone, but I fear that you
will compete with one another for them (the treasures of the earth)."
What is meant by his praying for them (the people of Uhud) as he used
to pray for the dead is his offering supplicationfor them with the
du'aa' that is recited in the funeral prayer. This was seven years
after they were martyred (may Allahbe pleased with them).
There is nothing in the hadeeth to say that shirk (association of
others with Allah) will not happen in this ummah; rather it may be
understood that he did not fear it for the entire ummah, based on the
factthat it has occurred among some of them, as is indicated in other
texts in which he (blessings andpeace of Allah be upon him) stated
that some of his ummah would fall intoshirk.
An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his commentary on
Muslim (Sharh Muslim): In this hadeeth we see the miracles of the
Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), because
what it means is a foretelling thathis ummah would be given the
treasures of the earth, which did indeed come to pass; and that they
would not all apostatise because Allah, may He be exalted, protected
them from that;and that they would compete with one another for
worldly gain. And all of that came to pass. End quote.
Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar al-'Asqallaani (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
The words "I do not fear that you will associate others with Allah"
mean: (I do not fear that you willdo that) en masse, because that
happened with some of them – may Allah protect us. This hadeeth is one
of the miracles of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon
him), hencethe author narrated it under the heading of the signs of
Prophethood.
End quote from Fath al-Baari, 3/211
Secondly:
The saheeh Sunnah indicates that among this ummah will be some
whoassociate others with Allah, may He be exalted.
1.
al-Bukhaari (7116) and Muslim (2906) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may
Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and
peace of Allah be upon him) said: "The Hour will not begin until the
backsides of the women of Daws wobble (as they go) around
Dhu'l-Khalasah."
Dhu'l-Khalasah was a falsegod of Daws that they used to worship during
the Jaahiliyyah.
2.
Muslim (2907) narrated that 'Aa'ishah said: I heardthe Messenger of
Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: "Night and day
will not cease until al-Laat and al-'Uzza are worshipped.".....

When everything seems togo wrong ............... ............... .... just P.U.S.H! When the job gets you down ............... ............... ............... .. just P.U.S.H!

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled
with light, and the Angel told the man he had work for him to do, and
showed him a large rock in front ofhis cabin.
The Angel explained that the man was to push against the rock with all
his might. So, this the man did, day after day.
For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down; his shoulders set
squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock,
pushing with all of his might.
Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling
that his whole day had been spent in vain.Since the man was showing
discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by
placing thoughts into the weary mind: "you have been pushing against
that rock for a long time, and it hasn't moved."
Thus, giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and
that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the
man. Satan said, "Why kill yourself over this?
"Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will
be good enough."
That's what he planned to do, but decided to make it a matter of
prayer and take his troubled thoughtsto the Lord. "Lord," he said,"I
have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to
do that which Angel have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not
even budged that rock by half a millimeter.
What is wrong? Why am I failing?" The Angel responded compassionately
, "My Servant, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told
you that your task was to push against the rock with all ofyour
strength, which you have done.
Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your
task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent,
thinking that you have failed. But, isthat really so? Look at
yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and
brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs have
become massive and hard.
Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass
that which you used to have. Yet you haven't moved the rock. But your
calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and
trust in My wisdom. This you have done. Now I, my servant, will move
the rock."
At times, when we hear a word from Angel, we tend to use our own
intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is
just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means, exercise the
faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves
mountains.

is the kingdom today?

When the Samanid ruler, Nasr bin Ahmad ( 301 - 331 A.H), entered
Nishapur, he held a court. After ascending the throne, he wanted the
proceedings to be started with the recitation from the Holy Qur'an. At
this anelderly pious man came forward and recited a section of the
surah Al- Mu'min. When he came tothe verse (On that Day it will be
asked:) "Whose is the Kingdom today?"
Nasr was struck with awe;he descended the throne trembling, took off
the crown and fell down in prostration, saying: "O myLord, Kingdom is
Yours, not mine!"

Description of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)

The following is an excerpt from the book entitled "The Message of
Mohammad", by Athar Husain . Among other things, it talks about some
of the personal characteristics of the prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon
Him), the final messenger of Allah (God). It has been edited slightly
in order to reduce it's length. Care has been taken not to change the
content inshallah. The topics include:
Appearance
Muhammad (pbuh) was of a height a little above the average. He was of
sturdy build with long muscular limbs and tapering fingers. The hair of
his head was long and thick with some waves in them. His forehead was
large and prominent, his eyelashes were long and thick, his nose was
sloping, his mouth was somewhat large and his teeth were well set. His
cheeks were spare and he had a pleasant smile. His eyes were large and
black with a touch of brown. His beard was thick and at thetime of his
death, he had seventeen gray hairs in it. He had a thin line of fine
hair over his neck and chest. He was fair of complexion and
altogetherwas so handsome that AbuBakr composed this couplet on him:
"as there is no darkness in the moonlit night so is Mustafa, the
well-wisher, bright." His gait was firm and he walked so fast that
others found it difficult to keep pace with him. His face was genial
but at times, when he was deep in thought, there there were long
periods of silence, yethe always kept himself busy with something. He
did not speak unnecessarily and what hesaid was always to the point
and without any padding. At times he would make his meaning clear by
slowly repeating what he had said. His laugh was mostly a smile. He
kept his feelings under firm control - when annoyed, he would turn
aside or keep silent, when pleased he would lower his eyes (Shamail
Tirmizi).
Dress
His dress generally consisted of a shirt, tamad (trousers), a sheet
thrown round the sholders and a turban. On rare occasions, he would
put on costly robes presented to him by foreign emissaries in the
later part of his life (Ahmed, Musnad, Hafiz Bin Qaiyyam).
His blanket had several patches (Tirmizi). He had very few spare
clothes, buthe kept them spotlessy clean (Bukhari). He wantedothers
also to put on simple but clean clothes. Once he saw a person putting
on dirty clothes and remarked,
"Why can't this man wash them." (Abu Dawud, Chapter "Dress"). On
another occasion he enquired of a person in dirty clothes whether he
had any income. Upon getting a reply in the affirmative, he observed,
"When Allah has blessed you with His bounty, your appearence should
reflect it." (Abu Dawud) He used to observe:
"Cleanliness is piety".
Mode of living
His house was but a hut with walls of unbaked clayand a thatched roof
of palm leaves covered by camel skin. He had separate apartments for
his wives, a small room foreach made of similar materials. His own
apartment contained a rope cot, a pillow stuffed with palm leaves ,
the skinof some animal spread on the floor and a water bag of leather
and some weapons. These were all his earthly belongings, besides a
camel, a horse, and an ass and some land which he had aquired in the
later part of his life (Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud). Once a few of his
disciples, noticing the imprint of his mattress on his body, wished to
give him a softer bed but he politely declined the offer saying,
"What have I to do with worldly things. My connection with the world
is like that of a traveler resting for a while underneath the shade of
a tree and then moving on." Amr Ibn Al-Harith, a brother in law of the
prophet (pbuh), says that when the prophet died, hedid not leave a
cent, a slave man or woman, or any property except his white mule, his
weapons and a piece of land which he had dedicated for the good of the
community (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari).
He advised the people to live simple lives and himself practised great
austerities. Even when he had become the virtual king of arabia, he
lived an austere life bordering on privation. His wife Aiysha (ra)
says that there was hardly a day in his life when he had two square
meals (Muslim, Sahih Muslim, Vol.2, pg 198). When he died there was
nothing in his house except a few seeds of barley left from a mound of
the grain obtained froma Jew by pawning his armour (Bukhari, Sahih
Bukhari, Chapter "Aljihad").
He had declared unlawful for himself and his family anything given by
the people by way of zakat or sadaqa (types of charity). He was so
particular aboutthis that he would not appoint any member of hisfamily
as a zakat collector (Sahah-Kitab Sadqat).
His manners and disposition
"By the grace of Allah, you are gentle towards the people; if you had
been stern and ill-tempered, they would have dispersed from round
about you" (translation of Quran 3:159)

A bird's nest

Recently, we attended a speech given by a scholar from USA. The speech
wasmainly about the Greatness of Allah. Here is one interesting
excerpt from the lecture: A poet said "Who has taught the birds how to
make their nests? The birds make their nests in such a way as if a
king is building his palace according to his desires." The birds
create beautiful houses with the help of their beaks. They do not use
a single stone or brick. They collect straws one at a time and puts
them in their place. Within a short time, the birds make a comfortable
nest for them to live in. The nest that the birds make using their
beaks are so dynamic that we can't even make them using our hands.
Indeed, Allah has given the birds this knowledge from His infinite
bounties.

1]* Protection from Jinns

1]* *The protection which will prevent the evil of the jinn is for a
person to recite that which is narrated in the Sunnah as being
effective in providing protection, suchas Aayat al-Kurisy, for if a
person recites Aayat al-Kursiy at night, he will continue to have
protection from Allaah, and no shaytaan will come near him until
morning. And Allaah is theProtector.'"
(Majmoo' Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen, 1/287-288)

protection from the shayaateen (devils). Theseinclude:
Seeking refuge with Allaah from the jinn:

revealed he started to recite them and not anything else."
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2058; he said it is hasan ghareeb. Also
narrated by al-Nasaa'i, 5494; Ibn Maajah, 3511. The hadeeth was
classed as saheeh by al-Albaani (mayAllaah have mercy on him) in
Saheeh al-Jaami', 4905).
3 - Reciting Aayat al-Kursiy
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: "The Messenger of Allaah
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) put me in charge of
guarding the zakaah of Ramadaan. Someone came to me andstarted
grabbing handfulsof the food. I took hold of him and said, 'I will
take you to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him).' He said, 'I will teach you some words by means of which
Allaah will benefit you.' I said, 'What are they?' He said, 'When you
go to your bed, recite this aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
"Allaah! Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none hasthe right to be worshipped but
He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyoom (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and
protects all that exists)..." [al-Baqarah 2:255] - until he completed
the aayah. Then Allaah will appoint aguard for you who will stay with
you and no shaytaan (devil) will comenear you until morning.' The
Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked
me, 'What did your prisoner do last night?' I said, 'O Messenger of
Allaah, he taught me something, and claimed that Allaah would benefit
me by it.' He said, 'What was it?' I said, 'He taught me to recite
Aayat al-Kursiy when I go to bed, and said that no shaytaan would come
near me until morning, and that Allaah would appoint a guard for me
who would stay with me.'The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be

Blessing and Dissipation - ~ For details, Visite:- http://aydnajimudeen.blogspot.com/

In the following sections, we will analyze how the Qur'an looks at
Paradise and, based upon these descriptions,"try to imagine this
perfect place. But before we do this, let's look at a few important
points. In today's societies, many people have erroneous ideas and
impressions in their conscious and subconscious minds. As such
obstacles cause themto formulate a mistaken view, we must describe
some basic Islamic concepts whose meaningshave departed from their
original understanding.
With this in mind, we firsthave to distinguish between "blessing"
and"dissipation."
In the following pages, we will see that the Qur'an describes Paradise
as an extremely luxurious and magnificent place, and that life therein
is as comfortable and attractive as it can be.
However, to many people today, such a life is not so much "Islamic" as
it is a natural outcome of being alienated from Allah and religious
moral teaching.
So, because of this erroneous understanding that dominates society,
very many people think that a comfortable, luxurious, and ostentatious
life, and all that goes along with it, are "un-Islamic." They see such
things as expensive clothes, rich food, entertainment, dinner parties,
magnificently appointed houses, dcor, and valuable art works as
belonging to ignorant people cut off from their religion. They usually
call a life filled with these things "dissolute," and criticize those
who give this society its name as"living undisciplined lives of
dissolution." The word"dissolution" (safahat) comes from the Arabic
safih, and can be translated as "a lack of discipline,
overindulgence,a weakness of mind that comes from living an
irresponsible life of wealth and comfort."
Here, we encounter a falseunderstanding that must be corrected. The
life of Paradise that Allah has been pleased to choose for His
servants, as well asa life that contains every kind of luxury,
comfort, and ostentation, is also the most beautiful and noble way of
life, one thatconforms as closely as possible to religious moral
teaching.
A false definition of dissolution opens the wayto misunderstanding.
Dissolution, or rebellion against Allah through a lack of discipline
and overindulgence, is a condition of the human mind. People are not
dissolute because of their clothes, ostentatious houses, aesthetic
environments, or materialwealth. Rather, the problem is in their
minds.
The natural result of this situation is this: If people have a
Qur'anic morality and a strong faith, they can live among the
richestopulence imaginable without ever becoming dissolute. On the
contrary, because they view everything they encounter according to the
Qur'anic criteria and moral teaching, they see all of the beauty
surrounding them as a blessing. In other words, they realize that all
of these things are gifts fromAllah. So, if Muslims know that Allah
has given all of the surrounding riches, beauty, opulence, and
magnificence, naturally they thank our Lord for what He has provided.
This is, after all, why all blessings have been created.
If we applied this general way of thinking to our present society, we
wouldhave to say that those who live a dissolute life and turn away
from Allah's commands have gone astray, because theydo not see that
all of theirpossibilities are blessings from Him. If they saw these
things as blessings, this understanding would lead them to give thanks
to Allah. And then, they would use these blessingsas Allah intended
them to be used: avoiding waste and using them in a way pleasing to
Him.
So, wealth can be defined in two ways. Some rich people are believers
who consider all of their possessions to be blessings from Allah,
while other rich people goastray by considering all of their
possessions as their own, forget Allah, and fall into dissolution.
However, the model that Allah has proposed for all of His servants is
wealth, as mentioned in the first model above. Wealth and poverty are
tests for believers. Although some believers may be tested by poverty,
Allah commands: "We desired to show kindness to thosewho were
oppressed in the land, and to make them leaders and inheritors" (Surat
al-Qasas,5). This might happen in the world, but it certainly will
happen in the afterlife.
Therefore, it would be very wrong for Muslims tofind fault with grand,
luxurious, and opulent lives. Muslims must not shun such people and
regard them with disdain, because, after all, all material things in
this life (e.g., fine clothes, deliciousfood, magnificent homes and
works of art) were created for Muslims, as weread in Surat al-A'raf,
32:
Say: "Who has forbidden the fine clothing that Allah has produced.....

Paradise: Introduction

What do you want most out of life? A nice house, expensive clothes,
money, wealth, opulence? What ifyou were told about a place where you
could geteverything you wanted and keep it forever? Whatwould you say?
Of course you would be very excited and want to see this perfect place
right away. Surely no one would ever object to living in such a
wonderful place.
Now just think. Has anyone ever talked to youabout a place filled with
acountless array of blessings, where beauty isspread out at your feet?
Surely someone must have done so, telling you and all other people
about the existence of a life - the life of Paradise - where
everything that you want will be prepared for you. Everyone knows that
afterdeath there is an endless Paradise. Everyone judgedworthy to
enter it will find everything they desire there; they will receive
their rewards and blessings, and live in a perfect place surrounded by
beauty forever. To those faithful servants who pass the test of this
earthly life, Allah has promised an unprecedented land. The limited
time one spends in this world, on the otherhand, is an opportunity
toattain these beauties.
So what keeps people from being overcome with joy at the good newsof
Paradise? What stops them from longing for it, from expending every
effort to attain it? Why dopeople, knowing that they will receive
these blessings as a divine reward, not prepare for Paradise? Surely
the most important reason is that some people do not have an assured
faith that it exists; others are not convinced. There may be other
reasons why peopledo not believe in or have doubts about it. But the
basic thing that we must consider is that this doubtsometimes arises
from a lack of knowledge.
The only remedy for this lack of knowledge is the Qur'an.
In the Qur'an, Allah describes a wonderful life of perfect and endless
beauty in Paradise. Someone who does not know this beauty's extentor
how the Qur'an describes it may have difficulty envisioning Paradise
and the kind of life there.
This book tells people about Paradise, which Allah offers to them,
describes its great blessings, and proclaims its beauties to everyone.
It informs people that Paradise is one of two ways of life prepared
for them in the afterworld, and that every good thingwill be theirs in
Paradise to a degree that surpassesour present ability to imagine. It
also shows that Paradise, is a place where all blessings have been
created perfectly and where people will be offered everything their
souls and hearts will desire; that people will befar removed from want
and need, anxiety or sadness, sorrow and regret. Every kind of beauty
and blessing existsin Paradise and will be revealed with a
perfectionnever seen or known before. Allah has preparedsuch blessings
there as a gift, and these will be offered only to people with whom He
is pleased.
This book describes everything about Paradisein the light of the
Qur'an'sverses. So, as you read this information and try to envision
that blessed place, remember that the Qur'an is the truth. Based on
this information, consider the perfection of the real land that is
waiting for you, and makeevery effort to be worthy of it. Be aware
that Allah will give you all of these things by His grace, and that
they can be yours forever. Given all of this, ifyou still cannot
decide in favor of eternal beauty, remember that the only choice left
is Hell, a place full of anguish from where you will observe the
comfort of those in Paradise and experience eternal anxiety, sadness,
misery, and sorrow.

A scholar in China

A Muslim scholar (sheikh) was on a visit to China to give a series of
lectures tothe local Muslim community. One day, he was scheduled to
give a lecture at a local hall and was about to take a taxi along with
his companions to that location.
They got into the taxi andthe Sheikh asked about the length of time it
would take to get to the lecture hall. The taxi driver, through the
interpreter, answered"Two hours."
The Sheikh immediately turned to his companions and said: "well, we
can't sit in this taxi with the driver for two hours and not tell him
about our religion. If we did that then we would be no different than
any other non-Muslim or kaffir who uses this taxi. We are the people
that Allah (SWT) chose to carry His message and honoured usto be
Muslims. It is our duty to tell this person about Islam."
However, the driver was anative Chinese and didn't have a common
languagewith the Sheikh. They hadto communicate through an
interpreter.
Sheikh to interpreter: "Askthe man if he believes in any religion?"
Driver: "No, I don't believein religion. I just get up in the morning,
go to work and earn money. At the end of the day, I collect my money,
go buy some food and drink for my family. What do I need religion
for?"
Sheikh: "Ask this man if hehas ever heard anything about Islam."
Driver: "Not much. I've seen a tape once and showed Muslims as violent
people. I don't know much else."
Sheikh: "Ask him about computers. What does he think of computer?"
Driver: "I think the computer is an excellent invention. It is very
useful and very sophisticated."
Sheikh: "Does he think that the computer could have invented itself or
does he think that a human being invented it?"
Driver: "A human invented it, of course. It is not capable of inventing itself."
Sheikh: "Which one is more complicated the computer or the human being?"
Driver: "The human being is more complicated, of course."
Sheikh: "O.K., if the computer must have beeninvented by a human
being, then it follows thata human being (which is more complicated)
must also have a creator."
Driver: "O.K."
Sheikh: "In Islam, we believe that Allah is the creator of human
beings and all other beings. Fine, now let's move on. Assume that you
have never seen a computer before and never heard ofit. If I brought a
computerto you and gave it to you. Would you know what to do with it?
Would you be able to use to its full potential?"
Driver: "No, I wouldn't."
Sheikh: "Now, if I gave you a catalogue for the computer, then you
will be able to better use it? Correct?"
Driver: "Correct!"
Sheikh: "In Islam, we viewQuran as the catalogue used by human beings
to manage their lives. Without this catalogue, they will ruin
themselves! Now, if this inventor of the computer assembled the machine
and printed the catalogue, what would be the next step? He would need
to train some engineers and others on how to spread the message about
this machine. These people would, in turn, train others and others
until everyone knows about the machine. In the example of Allah and
Quran, the prophets of Allah play the role of the engineers. They
learn the message and teach it to others so that the message will
spread. Prophet Muhammad (saw) is the final messanger of Allah and
hewas ordered to take the message to all human beings."
By this time, the trip was coming to an end and they almost reached
the lecture hall. But the Sheikh can see that there were tears coming
out of the driver's eyes. The words of the Sheikh was having a
significant effect on this driver.
Driver: "These ideas are very interesting to me. Doyou mind spending
15 more minutes with me to tell me about this religion?"
The Sheikh agreed to spend those few minutes with this person and did.
The man asked many questions and seemed genuine in his desire to learn
more about this religion. At the end of these few minutes, the driver
said: "I want to jointhis religion of yours. Howdo I do that?"
He was told that all he needs to do is say: "I bear witness that there
is no God but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is his
servant and messenger."

One Seed to a Forest

There is a saying "There lies a forest in every seed". We all have
seen that after planting a seed, it grows up to be a plant, which then
gives out fruits with many other seeds. Therefore, a forest can be
grown from one seed if we kept on planting the new seeds that come out
from it. It isindeed one of the evident miracles of Allah!
Similarly, the kalimah, there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His
messenger, is only one sentence in size but it contains the entire
paradise in it. Success in this world, in the grave, on the Day of
Judgement and hereafter lies only in obeying the message of this
kalimah.

In our area, we rented a room on the 12th floor of an apartment
building forperforming salah with jamath. This particular building was
chosen because 100s of Muslim families live here and there was no
Masjid in thewalking distance. One dayas we came to pray salah, we
discovered that all theelevators were occupied or out of service. So,
me and another brother decided to take the stairs. After reaching the
8th floor, we were exhausted and could barely keep on climbing. Then,
suddenly something came to the mind of the brother who was climbing
with me. He said, "Going up the stairs is very difficult, but going
down is very easy. Similar is our iman, losing it is very easy but
gaining it is very difficult."

Feeding the Horse

Suppose you use a horse for transportation as people have done in the
past. One of your friends invites you to his house and you get there
by riding your horse. Now, what would happen if your friend totally
ignoresyou and starts feeding and looking after the horse only? You
will feel confused as yourself, the rider, was suppose to be the
guest, not the horse that you rode on.
The above situation sounds abnormal but thatis exactly what we are
doing today. Allah has given us a body and a soul. The soul rides on
thebody to pass through this world. In other words, thebody is like
the horse and the soul is like the rider ofthe horse. Today, we are
continuously busy in feeding and looking after the body but totally
ignored the well being of our souls. As a result, our souls have
become so weak without the spiritual food that it is notstrong enough
to even push us to go to the Masjid or wake up for Fajr prayer. Thus,
it is essentialthat we strengthen our soul with the spiritual food as
shown by Islam, such as keeping the company of the pious, recitation
of the Holy Quran, Dhikr of Allah and contemplating over the Greatness
of Allah.

How to Safeguard the Islam of Newly Reverted Sister

I would like to thank the founders and the workers on this web site
because it helped me and is still helping me a lot.
I embraced Islam three years ago (Al-hamdulillah), and fromthat time
on I worked to convince my family members and my close friends to
submit to it.
My little sister (15 years old) who was watching me for the past three
years grew in her belief and eventually uttered the Shahada (testimony
offaith) one week ago ( Al-hamdulillah).
Now my concern is, how can I protect her faith; how can I help her to
strengthen it?
I feel she might lose her faith any time because the environment we
are living in encourages people to go astray. In addition to that, my
parents still don't know about her conversion, I'm sure that if they
knew they would not be pleased with it and they would try to get her
back to Judaism.
Please, I need your advice,I really don't know how to deal with this situation.
Praise be to Allaah.
First:
From that which makes a Muslim happy is his seeing people enter into
the true religion of Allah, the Exalted and leaving their false and
distorted religions. We'd like to congratulate you on having been
chosen by Allah for Islam and then for being granted the ability to
call towards the guidance which resulted in the Islam of your sister
and her being saved from the wrath and punishment of Allah. This takes
our minds back to the glorious companion, Abdullah ibn Salam, who was
a Jew and who entered Islam and perfected his Islam. We ask Allah, the
Exalted, to keep you and your sister firm and to grant you the
strength and ability to attain beneficial knowledge and work righteous
deeds.
Second:
From that which we advise you to do with your sister who entered Islam
in order to help keep her firmly upon the religions is the following:
1. Encourage her to recite and to listen to Quran a great deal. It
would be nice if you couldassist in selecting recitations of recitors
whose voices are pleasingto the listeners.
2. Make available to hersmall but highly beneficialIslamic books
which contain simplified Islamic rulings and the biographies of great
Islamic scholars and leaders. It would be preferred if they contained
biographies of female scholars, callers and warriors.
3. Make every effort to keep her away from bad company, especially
thosefriends which she had before Islam and who hadan impact on her
due to their strong personalities or gentleness. Be gentle while doing
this so as not to turn her away from you and have her more attached to
her friends.
4. Make easily accessible to her touching audio materials which
talk about Islamic issues and the fate of man after death and the
hereafter.
5. Encourage her to regularly praise and thankAllah, the Exalted,
for the blessing of guidance. Through gratitude, blessings last and
every slave requires of his Lord, the Exalted, to assist him,
strengthen him and keep him firm upon his religion.
6. Encourage her to pray regularly and on time while giving the
prayer its due by carrying out its necessary and compulsory actions in
the best manner and urge herto supplicate abundantly during the
prostration.
7. Be sure to tell her notto reveal her reversion to Islam to her
family at this time out of fear that they will influence her
negatively and cause her harm in her religion. See the answers to the
two questions 33827 and 69752 .
8. The fact that you were able to influence herand she accepted
Islam after observing you shows that she respects you and has love for
you. Therefore, try to be her best friend and the rock she can lean
on. Try your best to give her all the moral support you can; continue
being a good example for her, let her talk to you and share her
thoughts with you and lether feel that you are therefor her whenever
she needs you. Insha Allah your companionship and support will be a
positive influence on her.
9. It goes without saying that perhaps one of the most effective
means (if not the most effective) is for you to regularly and
consistently supplicate to Allah (du'aa) for her. Everything is in
Allah's Hands and He is the One Who controls the hearts, therefore,
implore Him to keep your sister firm upon the truth.
10. Gently try to help yoursister find a new set of friends who will
be supportive and act as good role models.
We ask Allah to keep you both firm upon His religion and to grant you
success in pleasing Him. Thank you for taking the time to benefit from
our site.
May Allah grant you beneficial knowledge and the ability to act according to it.

How Sawad bin Qarib became a Muslim

In the report given by Imam Baihaqi in his Hadith collection, Hadhrat
Sawad bin Qarib stated:"In the period of ignorance or pre-Islamic
period, I had friendship with a jinn who used to give me information
about the future events which I used to tell the people. Many people
had become my devotees and offered me the presents as information by
him always proved true. One day, he came and awakened me when I
wasasleep and said: Get up and be conscious. If you possess some
sense, knowthat a Prophet has come from the descendants of Lawa bin
Ghalib. Then, thejinn recited a few verses which meant:
"I am surprised at those jinns who ride their camels and, getting
restless, flee to Makkah for guidance. The jinns who embraced Islam
are better than the unclean jinns. So, you should, also, look at that
chief of Arabs and travel towards that chief of the Bani Hashim."
Sawad bin Qarib stated that, after hearing these couplets, I remained
restless throughout the night. The second night, also, that jinn came
and awakened me and recitedthe same couplets. The third night, also,
this event took place. As the event happened for three nights
continuously, the love of Islam settled in my heart and I reached
Makkah for the Prophet (saw). As soon as the Prophet (saw) saw me,
hesaid: "Welcome! O Sawad bin Qarib. I know what brings you here." I
submitted: "O Apostle of Allah! I have composed some couplets praising
you. Please, first listen to these couplets." Being permitted by the
Prophet (saw) Sawad recited his poem praising the Prophet (saw). The
last couplet of this poem is:
"O Prophet of Allah! please, intercede for my forgiveness on the day
when nobody will intercede and benefit for anyone."

The Locks on the Door

I always lock my doors before going outside. I believe all of us do
the same to protect our valuable properties from the thieves. I have
seen people with more than 3 locks on the door and some also have a
specialized integrated alarm system against forceful entry! Some also
have 24 hours live monitoring systems built in the house. Then one day
I was thinking, it is quite sad that we use so many locks in order to
safeguard some belongings, but, we have little or no locks at all in
ourselves to safeguard our iman from Shaitan and evils of this world.
This iman, which is more precious than any material thing, needs more
protection than our belongings.

Voice from the Belly of an Idol

Umar (ra) narrates: "One day, I was present near the idols. An
idol-worshipper slaughtered a calf, by wayof making an offering for
the idols. In the meanwhile, all of a sudden, a voice came out of the
belly of a big idol, in these words:
"O strange man! a useful thing is this that an eloquent person says:
There is no god but Allah."
Umar (ra) stated that the people ran away getting frightened of this
call; but I stayed in order to know the reality of this voice. Second
time, also, the voice was heard. Thus, after some period, it was heard
about Muhammad (sallallahu alayhe wasallam) that he is a Prophet and
teaches that there is no god but Allah.
Source: Sahih Bukhari.
The voice came from a Jinn inside the belly of theidol.

Comments about two people

Sahl ibne Sa'd (RA) narrates: Once a person passed by Rasulullah
(SAW), (and) he asked someone sitting with him:What do you think of
the passerby? He replied: He is among the respected ofthe society; and
by Allah! If he proposes to a woman, he will be married; should he
recommend something, his recommendation will be accepted. Rasulullah
(SAW) kept his peace (silence). Then, another person passed by, and
Rasulullah (SAW) asked (the man sitting with him, again): What is your
opinion about this man? He answered: O Rasulullah! He is a poor
ofMuslims. If he proposes (for marriage), it will not be accepted;
should he recommend (something), his recommendation will be rejected;
and if he speaks, nobody will pay heed. Rasulullah (SAW) said: This
man (the poor Muslim) is better than a whole world (full) of the like
of that (the first one). Source: Sahih Bukhari.
We must love and respectthe poor ones of this ummah and we should
never look down upon them. During this month of Ramadan, let us all
remember how much sufferings they go through everyday.

Dry bread and vinegar

Hadrath Ibn Abbas narrates: Holy Prophet (SAW) asked Umm Hani if there
was anything to eat.Umm Hani (RA) said that there was only dry bread
and she felt ashamed of offering it to him. He said:"No! Bring it." He
broke the bread into pieces, dipped them into water and added some
salt. Then he asked her if therewas any curry. She said there was
nothing except vinegar. He sent for it and then, sprinkling it over
the crumbs, ate them and thanked Allah. Source: Baihaqi.
Allahu Akbar! How thankful our Prophet was to Allah even after
gettingsuch type of food. We now a days throw away better food than

Darkness vs. Light

Once I had to go to a city for a few days. My plane landed there
during the late night hours. A brothergave me a ride to the place
where I was going to stay. This was the first time I visited this town
and was curious to see what it looked like. However, it was dark at
night and I wasn't able to see many things.
The next day, I went out with the brother and he happened to take the
same road as the previousnight. But since it was daytime, I was able
to see theriver, hills, and many other landscapes that wasnot properly
visible the previous night.
It came to my mind that this is similar to what we go through in our
lives. Allah Ta'ala as told us through the Quran and Prophet Muhammad
(saw) about the many unseen things that are awaiting us in the
hereafter. While we are inthis world, it's just like weare in
darkness. We are not able to see all these things. But as soon as we
die and close our eyes, everything will open up to us like the day
time and we will see whatever was hidden.

A Snake comes to the Prophet

The well-known scholar Khateeb has stated on theauthority of Hadhrat
Jabir bin Abdullah who stated:"Once, we were travelling with the
Prophet (SAW). The Prophet was sitting under a tree for taking rest.
All of a sudden, therecame a snake near him, took his mouth near the
hole of his ear. After sometime, the Prophet took his mouth near its
ear and said something. On that, the snake vanished in such a way as
if the earth had swallowed it. We submitted to the Prophet that we
were very much frightened when you let itreach near your ear. The
Prophet told that it was an animal and in fact, it was a jinn who had
forgotten a few verses of such and such Surah and the jinns had sent
it to enquire about the same verses. Because of your presence, he came
changing its form to that of a snake and enquired about the verses
accordingly."

A Group of Jinns meet Prophet Muhammad

It is stated by Imam Baihaqi in "Dalail-e-Nubuwwat" on the authority
of Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Masood (ra) that the Prophet (saw) once, said
to his companions in Makkah:"Whosoever from amongst you desires to see
the jinns, he should come to me tonight." Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Masood
stated that nobody except me came that night. The Prophet (saw) took
me with him to a high hill in Makkah. He drew a circle with his foot
for me and advised me to keep sitting within that circle. Seating
Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Masood within that circle, he advanced ahead and
then stood at a place. There, he started recitation of the Holy Quran.
All of a sudden a big group of jinns encircled the Prophet (saw) and
that group stood as a wall between me and the Prophet (saw)and I heard
the jinns saying: "Who gives evidence that you are the Prophet." There
was a tree nearby. The Prophet (saw) observed: "Will you accept my
claim if this tree gives the evidence?" The jinns said: "Yes, we shall
accept it." On that, the Prophet (saw) called the tree. The tree came
nearby and gave the evidence accordingly and all the jinns embraced
Islam.

By Wang Qi, Sina English
Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu
arrived Thursday in Chiang Saen, Thailand where 13 Chinese sailors
were slain last October, for an inspection tour, despite threats from
the notorious Naw Kham gang.
The remnants of Naw Kham gang, which is charged with murdering 13
Chinese sailors, had threatened to take revenge on the Chinese police,
according to Thai security officials accompanying the Chinese
inspection delegation.
The Thai officials spoke highly of the Chinese government officials,
whocame to inspect the "Golden Triangle" area, regardless of high
securityrisks.
Meng Jianzhu made the inspection tour following his visits to Laos,
Myanmar and Bangkok of Thailand, during which the three countries
pledged to make joint efforts to promote security and law enforcement
cooperation in order to safeguard the volatile area.
"As more and more Chinese citizens go abroad, the Chinese government
must protect them." Meng said, "Criminals in the Mekong case must be
brought to justice in accordance with law."
Under the security cooperation joint launched by China, Laos, Myanmar
and Thailand, main perpetrator of the Mekong case Naw Kham has been
arrested and extradited to China for investigation. The next step is
for Thailand to submit the case to its court. Meng said police of both
countries have almost got to the bottom of the case and the Thai side
planned to put the case on trial in August.
Pansiri Prapawat, Thailand's deputy police chief, said 109 witnesses
were interviewed over the gruesome murder, according to a report on
the website of English newspaper Bangkok Post.
The sailors were on two cargo ships when they were attacked by armed
men on October 5. Besides, Thai police have issued arrest warrants for
nine soldiers over suspected involvement in the murder of 13 Chinese
sailors. They will face two counts of accusations: murdering and
hiding the bodies of the Chinese sailors.
Thailand's army commander echoed that the army will not shield the
nine soldiers from punishment if they are proved guilty so as to give
people of both China and Thailand a satisfactory answer.
After inspecting the site where the appalling Mekong tragedy took
place, Minister Meng visited the Mekong River coordinating center for
preventing and cracking down on crimes.
He stressed again that he expected the case could soon be put on trial
in order to punish the criminals, bring justice to victims and deepen
security cooperation of the countries concerned.

How can we prepare forthe arrival of Ramadaan?

How can we prepare for Ramadaan? What are the best deeds in this blessed month?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
You have done well to askthis question, because youhave asked how to
prepare for the month of Ramadaan. Many people misunderstand the true
nature of fasting, and they make it an occasion for eating and
drinking, making special sweets and staying up late at night and
watching shows on satellite TV. They make preparations for that long
before Ramadaan, lest they miss out on some food or prices go up. They
prepareby buying food, preparingdrinks and looking at the satellite TV
guide so they can choose which shows to follow and which to ignore.
They are truly unaware of the real nature of fasting in Ramadaan; they
take worship and piety out of the month and make it just for their
bellies and their eyes.
Secondly:
Others are aware of the real nature of fasting in the month of
Ramadaan, so they start to prepare from Sha'baan, and some of them
even start before that. Among the best ways of preparing for the month
of Ramadaan are:
1 –Sincere repentance
This is obligatory at all times, but because of the approach of a
great and blessed month, it is even more important to hastento repent
from sins between you and your Lord, and between you and other people
by giving them their rights, so that when the blessed month begins you
may busy yourself with acts of worship with a clean heart and peace of
mind. Allaah says (interpretationof the meaning):
"And all of you beg Allaah to forgive you all, O believers, that you
may be successful"
[al-Noor 24:31]
It was narrated from al-Agharr ibn Yasaar (mayAllaah be pleased with
him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
said: "O people, repent to Allaah for I repent to Him one hundred
times each day." Narrated by Muslim (2702).
2 –Du'aa' (supplication)
It was narrated from some of the salaf that they used to pray to
Allaah for six months that they would live until Ramadaan, then they
would pray for five months afterwards that He would accept it from
them.
The Muslim should ask hisLord to let him live until Ramadaan with a
strong religious commitment and good physical health, and he should
ask Him to help him obey Him duringthe month, and ask Him to accept
his good deeds from Him.
3 – Rejoicing at the approach of the blessed month
The arrival of Ramadaan is one of the great blessings that Allaah
bestows upon His Muslim slave, because Ramadaan is one of the
occasions of good in which the gates of Paradise are opened and the
gates of Hell are closed. It is the month of the Qur'aan and of
decisive battles in the history of our religion.
Allaah says (interpretationof the meaning):
"Say: 'In the Bounty of Allaah, and in His Mercy (i.e. Islam and the
Qur'aan); —therein let them rejoice.' That is better than what (the
wealth) they amass"
[Yoonus 10:58]
4 – Discharging the duty of any outstanding obligatory fasts
It was narrated that Abu Salamah said: I heard 'Aa'ishah (may Allaah
be pleased with her) say: I would owe fasts from the previous Ramadaan
and I would not be able to make them up except in Sha'baan.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1849) and Muslim (1146).
Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
From her keenness to do that in Sha'baan it may beunderstood that it
is not permissible to delay making them up until another Ramadaan
begins.
Fath al-Baari (4/191).
5 – Seeking knowledge in order to be able to follow the rulings on
fasting and to understand the virtues of Ramadaan.
6 – Hastening to completeany tasks that may distract the Muslim from
doing acts of worship.
7 – Sitting with one's family members – wife and children – to tell
them of the rulings on fasting and encourage theyoung ones to fast.
8 – Preparing some bookswhich can be read at home or given to the imam
of the mosque to read to the people during Ramadaan.
9 – Fasting some of the month of Sha'baan in preparation for fasting Ramadaan.
It was narrated that 'Aa'ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said:
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
used to fast until we said: He will not break his fast, andhe used not
to fast until we said: He will not fast. And I never saw the Messenger
of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) complete a month
of fasting except Ramadaan, and I never saw him fast more in any month
than in Sha'baan.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1868) and Muslim (1156).

Are people who live in extremely hot regions obliged to fast even though it is difficult for them?

In the Sahara region, the month of Ramadan may come in the summer and
it is difficult for them to fast and it may be impossible for them.
This will continue for a number of years. How should these people
fast?.
Praise be to Allaah.
When the month of Ramadan begins, every Muslim who is accountable, not
travelling and in good health is obliged to fast. Allah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"So whoever of you sights(the crescent on the first night of) the
month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Sawm
(fasts) thatmonth, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number
[of days which one did not observe Sawm (fasts) must be made up] from
other days"
[al-Baqarah 2:185].
So fasting is obligatory even at times when it is hot, because fasting
Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam. If a personfasts and then
suffers intense thirst in which there is the fear that he may die, he
may break the fast by drinking enough to keep him alive, then he should
refrain from eating and drinking, and make up that day at another
time. And Allah knows best.
And Allah is the source of strength. May Allah send blessings and
peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and Companions. End
quote.

The cry of the grave

Hadrat Abu Huraira (RA) is reported to have said thatonce he, in the
company of the Holy Prophet (SAW), joined a funeral. When the Holy
Prophet (SAW) reached the graveyard, he went to a grave and told that
there was not a single day that the grave did not make the clear
announcement."Oh, the offspring of Adam! you have forgottenme, I am
the place of solitude and I am the abode of loneliness, I am a lodging
of much straitened provided the Almighty expands me in the case of a
person whom He holds in esteem. After that the Holy Prophet (SAW)
said: The grave is either one of the gardens of Paradise orone of the
pits of hell.

The truth has come

It is stated on the authority of Abdullah bin Masood that the
unbelievers of the Quraishhad installed 360 idols in Ka'bah so
strongly that their feet were fixed with lead. When Makkah was
conquered and the Prophet (SAW) entered the Holy Ka'bah, he had a
stick in his hand. With it, he started pointing towards the idols and
reciting this verse: Truth has (now) arrived, and falsehood perished
(SurahAl Isra:81). The idol, to which the Prophet (SAW) pointed on its
front, fell down to its rear side and the idol, to which he pointed
from its rear side, fell down flat on its front side.

Jinns & their Purpose of Creation

The jinn are part of the creation of Allaah. He created them from fire
before He created Adam, as Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):
"And indeed, We created man from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud.
And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire"
[al-Hijr 15:26-27]
Just as Adam had descendents, so Iblees had descendents too, as Allaah
says of Iblees (interpretation of the meaning):
"Will you then take him (Iblees) and his offspring as protectors and
helpers rather than Me while theyare enemies to you? Whatan evil is
the exchange forthe Zaalimoon (polytheists, and wrongdoers, etc)"
[al-Kahf 18:50]
Allaah created the jinn and mankind to worship Him. Whoever obeys Him
will enter Paradise and whoever disobeys Him will enter Hell:
"And I (Allaah) created notthe jinn and mankind except that they
should worship Me (Alone).
I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or
for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed
themselves or Mycreatures).
Verily, Allaah is the All Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong"
[al-Dhaariyaat 51:56 - interpretation]
All of the jinn, like mankind, are accountable.Among them there are
believers and kaafirs, those who obey Allaah and those who disobey
Him, as Allaah tells us thatthey said:
"'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary;
we are groups having different ways (religious sects)'"
[al-Jinn 72:11 - interpretation of the meaning]
The jinn will be rewarded or punished in the Hereafter just like
mankind. Allaah tells us that they said:
"'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allaah, after
listening to this Qur'aan), and of us some are Al?Qaasitoon
(disbelieversthose who have deviated from the Right Path)'.
Andwhosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by
submitting to Allaah), then such have sought the Right Path.'
And as for the Qaasitoon (disbelievers who deviated from the Right
Path), they shall be firewood for Hell"
[al-Jinn 72:14-15 - interpretation of the meaning]
The jinn and mankind willall be brought to account on the Day of
Resurrection before the Lord of the Worlds. None of them will be able
to postpone that or flee from it.
"O assembly of jinn and men! If you have power to pass beyond the
zones of the heavens and the earth, then pass beyond (them)! But you
will neverbe able to pass them, except with authority (from Allaah)!"
[al-Rahmaan 55:33 - interpretation of the meaning]
Whoever among the jinn or mankind tries to flee from the Reckoning
will never be able to do so, as Allaah says (interpretationof the
meaning):
"There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and
(molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend yourselves
[al-Rahmaan 55:35]
When the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was in
Makkah, a group of the jinn came to him; they heard the Qur'aan and
were moved by it:
"And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad) a group (three to
ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listeningto the Qur'aan. When
theystood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And
when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners"
[al-Ahqaaf 46:29 - interpretation of the meaning]
Some of the jinn believed when they heard the Qur'aan, as Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"Say (O Muhammad): 'It has been revealed to me that a group (from
three to ten in number) of jinn listened (to this Qur'aan). They said:
"Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'aan)!
It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we
shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allaah)"'"
[al-Jinn 72:1-2]
Both Adam and Iblees fell into sin, but Adam regretted it and
repented,and Allaah accepted his repentance:
"Then Adam received from his Lord Words. And his Lord pardoned him
(accepted his repentance).Verily, He is the One Who forgives (accepts
repentance), the Most Merciful"
[al-Baqarah 2:37 - interpretation of the meaning]
But Iblees refused and was arrogant, so he was one of the disbelievers:
"And (remember) when We said to the angels: 'Prostrate yourselves
before Adam.' And they prostrated except Iblees (Satan), he refused
and was proud and was one of the disbelievers (disobedient to Allaah)"
[al-Baqarah 2:34 - interpretation of the meaning]
Whoever disobeys Allaah out of pride and arrogance, among the jinnand
mankind, is followingthe Shaytaan and will be gathered with him in the
Fire of Hell if he does not repent, as Allaah said to Iblees:....
