*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dought & clear, - Is it Sunnah to wear green clothes?

ShareShare

Ive seen few Islamic sects, always wearing green turban and white clothes, or all green clothes, stating it as to be following Sunnah of Prophet Sallalahualayhi wassalm. What is the context behind it?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
The basic principle with regard to clothing is that it is permissible and the Muslim may wear whatever colour of clothing he likes, except that which was forbidden by the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), which is red and yellow. The best colour that a man may wear is white, because of the hadeeth narrated by Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Wear white garments, for they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them.”
Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3380; at-Tirmidhi, 915
For more information see the answer to question no. 72878
It says inFataawa al-Lajnah ad-Daa’imah, 24/18: It is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) preferred white clothing over other colours. With regard to other colours, there is no proof that any of them are preferred. What is prescribed for the Muslim is to wear that which will cover him and not to go to great expense in doing that. This is the teaching of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). One should also avoid wearing clothes of fame and vanity, and anything that resembles the clothing of women or disbelievers, or anything that is contrary to Islamic teachings. End quote.
Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abdullah Aal ash-Shaykh; Shaykh ‘Abdullah ibn Ghadyaan; Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan; Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd
Based on that, wearing green clothes is permissible but it is not Sunnah and there is no virtue in wearing them.
If wearing green clothes is a symbol for some of those who follow innovation, such as Sufi tariqas, then it is better for the Muslim not to resemble them.
And Allah knows best.

Dought & clear, - Ruling on gathering to eat, offer condolences and recite Qur’aan together

The father of one of my friends has died and it was necessary to attend the dinner that they offered to the people present. Whilst we were waiting for the food to be served, some of the people present began to recite Qur’aan together, and I am aware that this is an innovation and that it is not proven from the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him and his family).
I wanted to object to this action but I was afraid of causing trouble and I did not have sufficient evidence.
Was I sinning by being present and listening to their recitation?
Should I have objected to them, even if that was by saying that there is no proof of this from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
It is not permissible for the family of the deceased to make food and invite people to come and eat. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade that. Jareer ibn ‘Abdullah said: We used to regard gathering with the family of the deceased and making food after the burial as coming under the same heading as wailing.. Narrated by Ahmad, 6866; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inTalkhees Ahkaam al-Janaa’iz.
It is not permissible to go to these meals and gatherings; rather what must be done is to tell people not to do that and to explain to them that it is contrary to Islam.
With regard to reciting Qur’aan together, if the group starts to recite Qur’aan together in unison, this is another innovation; this was not narrated from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) or from any of his Companions.
This has been discussed previously in the answer to question no. 4039.
Based on that, you should not have attended this gathering and if you did attend, then you should have explained to them that this action is not prescribed in Islam. If they did not respond to you then you should have left the place, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you sees an evil action, then let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart – and that is the weakest of faith.”
Narrated by Muslim, 49
Part of objecting to evil in the heart is leaving the place where it is happening.
And Allah knows best.

Dought & clear, - Is it permissible to have a favourite soorah of the Qur’aan that one recites andlistens to a great deal because it has an impact on the heart?

ShareShare
My question is whether it is okay for a person to have a favourite surah that they like to read/listen to and think about all the time? From a young age I have always loved Surah Al-Waqiah. I try to read the Quran as much as I can on a daily basis but am always drawn to Surah Al-Waqiah. It brings about all sorts of wonderful emotions such as love, hope and gratitude, but also extreme fear and terror of ending up in the fire. Whenever I am faced with a problem/stressful situation, the verses just automatically pop into my head and make me feel better. But I sometimes feel that maybe I am doing wrong by focusing on it and loving it more than other surahs.
Praise be to Allaah.
There is nothing wrong with a Muslim singling out a soorah from the Book of Allah for extra attention, whether that is reciting it or listening to it or learning about its meanings and the like, and learning about what it contains of rulings, exhortation, warnings and so on, without that leading to neglect of the rest of the Qur’aan and neglecting to recite it, so long as that is based on some special reasons such as trying to develop a deeper understanding of the soorah or because one feels moved by its contents and the like. It should not be based on a belief in a particular virtue of that soorah for which there is no proof in sharee‘ah.
In a hadeeth that was narrated and classed as hasan by at-Tirmidhi (3297), it says that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Hood, al-Waaqi‘ah, al-Mursalaat,‘Amma yatsaa’iloon[al-Naba’] and Idhaash-‘shamsu kuwwirat[al-Takweer] have made my hair turn grey.”
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh at-Tirmidhi.
An-Nasaa’i (1010) narrated that Abu Dharr said: The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed qiyaam all night, repeating the verse (interpretation of the meaning):“If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise” [al-Maa’idah 5:118].
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh an-Nasaa’i
Abu Nu‘aym narrated inal-Hilyah(2/55) with a saheeh isnaad that ‘Urwah ibn az-Zubayr said: I entered upon Asma’ bint Abi Bakr when she was praying and I heard her reciting this verse (interpretation of the meaning):“But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire” [at-Toor 52:27], then she started seeking refuge with Allah (and continued to do so). I got up to leave when she was still seeking refuge with Allah, and I went to the marketplace. And when I came back, she was still weeping and seeking refuge with Allah.
Ibn Sa‘d narrated inat-Tabaqaat(7/150) from Bahz ibn Hakeem that Zaraarah ibn Awfa led them in praying Fajr in the mosque of Banu Qushayr, and he recited until he reached the words (interpretation of the meaning),“Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. Far from easy for the disbelievers” [al-Muddaththir 74:8-10], whereupon he fell down dead. Bahz said: I was one of those who carried him.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked:
What is the ruling on preferring one soorah to another, especially since I love to recite Soorah Maryam sometimes, for example, because I feel comfort and joy when I recite it?
He replied: There is nothing wrong with a person preferring one soorah of the Qur’aan over another for some reason. All of it is the word of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted. With regard to the One Who spoke its words, namely Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, there is no differentiation. But with regard to what it includes of great meanings, there may be some differentiation.
Hence it is proven from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that “The greatest soorah of the Book of Allah is Soorat al-Faatihah and the greatest verse in the Book of Allah is Aayat al-Kurisy.”
The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) sent one of the Sahaabah on an expedition, and he used to recite Qur’aan for his companions and end with Soorat al-Ikhlaas. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Ask him why he does that?” He said: Because it is a description of the Most Merciful and I love to recite it. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Tell him that Allah loves him.”
It was proven from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that “Soorat al-Ikhlaas is equivalent to one third of the Qur’aan.” If this questioner loves to recite Soorah Maryam because of what it contains of great and beneficial stories, and what it contains of mention of the recompense of the Last Day, and denunciation of the one who disbelieves and rejects the signs of Allah, and other meanings, there is nothing wrong with that at all.
End quote fromFataawa Islamiyyah, 4/50
The point is that some parts of the Qur’aan may have a greater impact on the heart, instilling fear or hope, than other verses or soorahs. If the reader benefits from reciting that and has the habit of doing so time after time, there is nothing wrong with it.
Rather what is not allowed is to think that a particular soorah or verse has some spiritual virtue, or that the one who reads it will have such and such reward, without that being based on any text of the revelation.
Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
It is an innovation (bid‘ah) to single out without any evidence, a particular verse or soorah to be recited at a particular time or in a particular place or for a particular need.
And Allah knows best.

For children, - Importance of Salah in Islam: Salah Timings(Prayer according to Islam, Salah Time)

ShareShare

He remembered his grandmother's warning about praying Salah (Salat, Namaz) on time: "My son, you shouldn't leave Salah (Salat, Namaz) to this late time". His grandmother's age was 70 but whenever she heard the Adhan, grandmothergot up like an arrow and performed Salah (Salat, Namaz). He however could never win over his ego to get up and pray Salah (Salat, Namaz). Whatever he did, his Salah was always the last to be offered and he prayed it quickly to get it in on time. Thinking of this, he got up and realized that there were only 15 minutes left before Salat ul Isha. He quickly made Wudu (Ablution) and performed Salat ul Maghrib. While making Tasbih (Glorification) of Fatimah Zahra (sa), he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed Salah (Salat, Namaz). His grandmother prayed with such tranquility and peace. He began making Dua and went down to make Sajda (prostrating) and stayed like that for a while.
He had been at school all day and was tired, so tired. He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting. He was sweating profusely. He looked around. It was very crowded. Every direction he looked in was filled with people. Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting. Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was.
His heart was about to burst. It was the Day of Judgment. When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the Day of Judgment, but that seemed so long ago. Could this be something his mind made up? No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this. The interrogation was still going on. He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called. No one could answer him. All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made a passageway for him. Two people grabbed his arms and led him forward. He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd. The angels brought him to the center and left him there. His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie. He opened his eyes but saw only another world. The people were all helping others. He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam. His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared.
He pleaded his case; "I too was always on this path. I helped others. I spread the word of Allah (SWT). I performed my Salah (Salat, Namaz). I fasted in the month of Ramadan. Whatever Allah (SWT) ordered us to do, I did. Whatever Allah (SWT) ordered us not to do, I did not."
He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah (SWT). He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah (SWT) deserved and his only protector was Allah (SWT). He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over. His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision. At last, the decision was made. The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd. His legs felt like they were going to collapse. He closed his eyes as they began to read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam (Hell). His name was read first. He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldn't be, "How could I go to Jahannam? I served others all my life, I spread the word of Allah (SWT) to others". His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat. The two angels took him by the arms. As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward the blazing flames of Jahannam. He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help him. He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Noble Qur'an that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him. The Jahannam angels continued to drag him. They had gotten closer to the Hellfire. He looked back and these were his last pleas. Had not Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said, "How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah (Salat, Namaz) performed five times cleanse someone of their sins"? He began yelling, "My prayers? My prayers? My prayers?"
The two angels did not stop, and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam. The flames of the fire were burning his face. He looked back one last time, but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him. One of the angels pushed him in. He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames. He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back. He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard. He wiped some dust off himself and asked him, "Who are you?" The old man replied, "I am your Salah (Salat, Namaz) prayers".
"Why are you so late? I was almost in the Fire! You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in". The old man smiled and shook his head, "You always performed me at the last minute, and did you forget?" At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajda (prostrating). He was in a sweat. He listened to the voices coming from outside. He heard the adhan for Salat ul Isha. He got up quickly and went to perform Wudu (Ablution).
Say Your Prayers Before Prayers For You Are Said (Namaz Parha Karo Is Se Pehle Ke Tumhari Namaz Parhi Jaye).
