*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dought & clear, - Angels Knowing What is Hearts of Man.

:->

Occasionally one says the du’a (supplication) of entering the toilet or says “bismillah” (in the name of Allah) secretly. Do angels know this secretly said speech? Do they record it and will we be brought to account for it?
Praise be to Allah.
Al-Bukaari and Muslim narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, relating from his Lord, may He be glorified and exalted: “Allah decreed good deeds and bad deeds, then He explained that. Whoever thinks of doing a good deed then does not do it, Allah will write it down as one complete good deed. If he thinks of doing a good deed and then does it, Allah [may He be glorified and exalted] will write it down between ten and seven hundred fold, or many more. If he thinks of doing a bad deed then he does not do it, Allah will write it down as one complete good deed, and if he thinks of it then does it, Allah will write it down as one bad deed.”
Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in Fath al-Bari.
This indicates that the angel can see what is in the heart of the human being, either because Allah informs him of it or because Allah has granted him some knowledge by means of which he is able to find it out.
The former view is supported by the report narrated by Ibn Abi’l-Dunya from Abu ‘Imran al-Jawni who said: He calls out to the angel: “Write down such and such for so and so”, and he says: “O Lord, he did not do it”. He says: “He intended it”.
And it was said that the angel detects a foul odour when a person is thinking of doing a bad deed, and he detects a good smell for a good deed. That was narrated by al-Tabarani from Abu M’ashar al-Madani. A similar report was narrated from Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “When a person thinks of doing a good deed but does not do it, one good deed is recorded for him …” If his thinking about it is something hidden and is between him and his Lord, how can the angels see it?
He replied:
Praise be to Allah. An answer to this question was narrated from Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah, who said: If he thinks of doing a good deed, the angel smells a good fragrance, and if he thinks of doing a bad deed, the angel smells a foul odour.
In fact, Allah is able to tell the angels what is in a person’s heart in whatever manner He wishes. End quote.
Majmoo’ al-Fataawa
And he (may Allah have mercy on him) also said:
Even if they smell the good scent and foul odour, their knowledge is not dependent on what they smell; rather they know what is in the heart of the human being, they can hear it and see the whispers of his nafs (soul). Even the shaytan gets hold of his heart, and when he remembers Allah he retreats, but if his heart neglects to remember Allah he starts to whisper. He knows whether he is remembering Allah or neglecting to remember Him, and he knows what his nafs desires or is inclined towards, and he makes that attractive to him.
It is proven in al-Saheeh from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a hadeeth (report) narrated by Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that: “The shaytan flows through the son of Adam like blood.”
The fact that the angels and the shaytan are close to a person’s heart is something that is mentioned in numerous reports which reach the level of tawatur (transmitting a narration or religious text by a group of narrators from a group of narrators, generation after generation and so forth, and they are all trustworthy people and it is absolutely impossible for them to agree on a lie), whether the person is a believer or a disbeliever. End quote from Majmoo’ al-Fatawa.
As for what a person thinks in his heart without moving his tongue and uttering it, he will be rewarded for that, but it is not the particular reward that is bestowed by the Lawgiver to the one who mentions that, rather that reward comes for speaking, and speaking is only achieved by uttering the words. But there are some scholars who say that moving the tongue is sufficient even if there is no sound that can be heard. This is the view of the Malikis and is the view favoured by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, that it is sufficient to move the lips even if the words cannot be heard. End quote.
The majority of scholars think that it is essential to speak the words loud enough to be heard by oneself. Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Sharh al-Muhadhdhab: If he cannot hear himself then it is not an announcement or speech. End quote.
He also said: It should be noted that the adhkar (remembrance of Allah) that are prescribed in prayer and elsewhere, whether they are obligatory or mustahabb (preferred), do not count for anything unless they are uttered so that he can hear himself if his hearing is sound.
And Allah knows best.

Dought & clear, - Is it prescribed to send blessings upon the angels?.

:->

Is it permissible to send blessings upon the angels because of their virtue and high status?.
Praise be to Allaah.
It is prescribed to send blessings upon the angels by saying “ ‘Alayhim al-salaatu wa’l- salaam (upon them be blessings and peace)” and “ ‘alayhim al-salaam (upon them be peace)”, because they are honourable, devoted worshippers and one of the creations of Allaah whom Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, favoured over others as He says:
“They [whom they call children of Allaah i.e. the angels, ‘Eesa (Jesus) __ son of Maryam (Mary), ‘Uzayr (Ezra)], are but honoured slaves”
[al-Anbiya’ 21:26]
“But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you,
11. Kiraaman (Honourable) Kaatibeen —writing down (your deeds)”
[al-Infitaar 82:10,11]
“In the hands of scribes (angels).
16. Honourable and obedient”
[‘Abasa 80:15, 16]
They have a particular status, virtue and honour, so it is prescribed to send blessings upon them, and there is no reason not to do so, rather it is prescribed.

Dought & clear, - Sending Blessings on theAngels in the Prayer.

:->

Is it permissible to send blessings on the angels in the tashahhud (sitting position in prayer) as I send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?
Praise be to Allah.
In the answer to question no. 105330we stated that it is prescribed to send blessings on the angels.
But in the tashahhud doing that is not prescribed, because what must be done is to recite only that which was proven from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), without adding anything to it.
Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan was asked: Should blessings be sent on the angels in the tashahhud as they are sent on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?
He replied:
No, the blessings that are mentioned in the tashahhud should be limited only to that which is narrated, but when we say al-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibaad-Allah al-saliheen (may peace be upon us and upon all the righteous slaves of Allah), this includes every righteous slave in heaven and on earth, which includes the angels.
Majmoo’ Fatawa al-Shaykh Salih al-Fawzaan.
And Allah knows best.

For children, - Islam and Neighbourhood

The neighbor holds a special status in Islam. Islam encourages Muslims
to treat their neighbors in a gentle way that reflects the true and
genuine spirit of Islam as exemplified in its tolerant aspect
especially with people of other faiths. It makes no difference whether
the neighbors are Muslim or non-Muslim. Ayesha, the Mother of the
Believers, stated that she once asked Prophet Muhammad (peace and
blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! I have two neighbors.
To whom shall I send my gifts?" Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings
be upon him) said, "To the one whose gate is nearer to you."
It is clear from the above Prophetic Hadith that Muslims are
encouraged to not only treat our neighbors kindly, but also to
exchange gifts with them. The wording of the Hadith does not indicate
whether the one with whom we exchange gifts is a Muslim or not.
Below are ten tips on how to approach your non-Muslim neighbors in a
kind way that exemplifies Islamic manners:
1. Being good to neighbors is not only restricted to those who share
the same building with you. Your roommate at the dorm is your
neighbor; the person sitting behind you or next to you in a bus or at
a bus stop is your neighbor; the one sharing your office at work is
your neighbor; the person enjoying fresh air next to you in a public
garden is also a neighbor. You ought to treat all of those people
kindly and socialize with them within the permitted scope of Shariah
Islamic Law.
2. Introduce yourself and your family to your neighbors when you move
into a new place or when new neighbors move in. This will also help to
relieve any fears or tensions they may have about Muslims. Also, don't
forget to say good-bye when you or they move away.
3. Care for them continually, especially at times of need and
distress, as "the neighbor in need is a neighbor indeed." If a
neighbor is elderly or chronically ill, offer to run errands or shop
for him or her.
4. In dealing with neighbors, it is safer to deal with those of the
same sex as yourself. This does not mean that you should stop
socializing at work or school with your non-Muslim workmates or
classmates of the opposite sex, but be aware of satanic snares.
After-hours socializing should be with your same sex.
5. While socializing with non-Muslims, be cautious of becoming too
lenient at the expense of your creed and principles. For example,
don't go out drinking with them. They will respect you more for
sticking to your principles than for breaking the rules.
6. In addition to sharing ideas, you can share meals with them by
inviting them to dinner on the weekend or accepting their invitation
to the same, provided that you let them know about your dietary
restrictions (Halal and Haram) as a Muslim.
7. Conduct mutual visits so that the families can interact in a
constructive way. If the discussion does turn to religion, focus on
areas of common ground. For example, if your neighbors are Christian,
then you should not enter into a futile argument with them about
whether Jesus is God incarnate or not. Rather, tell them to what
extent Islam honors all God's Prophets and Messengers as a whole, and
that Jesus is granted a special status among God's Prophets and
Messengers.
8. While socializing with neighbors, present your religion (Islam) in
the best way. If you are faced with a difficult question or a
distortion about Islam, do not be ashamed to stop for a while and tell
them that you will try to contact a more knowledgeable person to seek
the guidance regarding the issue raised. Thus, common grounds should
be enhanced, and areas of dissension should never be raised.
9. If your neighbors show an interest in Islam, invite them to attend
Islamic events, and even to accompany you to the mosque to see what it
is like. It may be that their hearts become softened to Islam, and if
they remain non-Muslim, at least you have succeeded in breaking the
barrier. You can also visit the church where your neighbors pray if
they invite you to do that, but here you should be cautious not to
perform any act that your religion prohibits. In brief, be only a
watchful monitor.
10. Always keep in mind the mighty reward that is in store for you in
the Hereafter when you show kindness to a neighbor.
