I have come up with a campaign called "By Allah, I shall certainly
discipline you, O nafs". This is a campaign that promotes
self-development and jihad an-nafs. I am goingto set up programs for
purifying the soul, softening the heart and reminding one of death,
and I want to post lectures by trustworthy shaykhs.
Is there anything wrong with saying I shall certainly discipline the
nafs that was created by Allah?
Does the fact that this title contains an oath mean that other members
are compelled to join the campaign? Please note that I said that
whoever posts a comment on this topic will be regarded as having
joined us in this campaign.
Praise be to Allah.
There is nothing wrong with a person saying to himself, "I shall
certainly discipline you, O nafs" if he is disciplining himselfin
accordance with the teachings of Islam. Even though Allah created
thenafs, the main purpose for which Allah has prescribed religion is
to discipline the nafs, purify it, and instruct it to do acts of
worship and obedience. To Allah belong the creation and the
commandment.
Imam al-Aajurri (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
If someone were to say: what evidence is there for disciplining the
nafs? The answer is: The Qur'aan, the Sunnah andthe words of the Muslim
scholars. End quote fromAdab an-Nufoos, p. 9
He also said (p. 17):
How bad is the situation of the one who neglects to discipline his
nafs andtrain it on the basis of knowledge; and how good is the
situation of the one who pays attention to disciplining his nafs and
knows whatAllah has enjoined upon him and what He has forbidden to
him, and is patient in going against the whims and desires ofhis nafs,
and seeks the help of Allah the Almighty in doing so. End quote.
And he narrated in his book (p. 13) that ar-Rabee' ibn Anas said,
concerning the verse "Ward off from yourselves and your families a
Fire (Hell)" [at-Tahreem 66:6]: Discipline and train yourselves and
your families to adhere to thecommands of Allah, may He be glorified
and exalted.
And he narrated (p. 14) that Sa'eed ibn Jubayr said: that is: proper
etiquette and manners.
Then he (may Allah have mercy on him) said (p. 15): Do you not see,
may Allah have mercy on you, that your Lord Most Generous is urging you
to discipline yourself and your families. Pay heed to Allah and make
yourselves adhere to that. End quote.
Based on that: there is nothing wrong with the phrase mentioned and
there is nothing wrong with giving the group the title mentioned, even
if this phrase was not narrated in this way from some of the Salaf, so
long as it is Islamicallyacceptable in and of itself and does not
include anything that is not appropriate according to Islam.
If you choose a title that is similar in meaning, such as
"Self-discipline" or "Training the nafs" and so on, that is also good.
Such words were used as book titles by some of the Salaf.
The oath mentioned is not regarded as compelling anyone to join the
group; rather heis a member if he accepts the conditions stipulated in
the group.
And Allah knows best.

Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Islamic Stories - An Orphan's Eid
It was the day of celebration and a day of rejoicing. There was an air
of festivity in the streets of Madinah. All the people, both young and
old were dressed in their best clothes, especially for this specialday
of Eid.
As it was time for early morning Eid prayers everyone made their way
to an open piece of land on the outskirts of the city. The Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh) arrived and led the prayers. After they had finished
they all greeted each other and everyonewas walking back home. The
children running and playing in excitement, smiling and laughing,
without a carein the world. As the Prophet (pbuh) walked back home, he
suddenly became aware of a little boy (Zuhair Bin Saghir) sitting by
himself on the side of the path. The little boy was crying and looked
very sad. The Prophet (pbuh) bent down and patted him onthe shoulders
and asked 'why are you crying?' 'Please leave me alone' sobbed the
little boy. The boy didn't even see who was talking to him. The
Prophet (pbuh) ran his fingers through the boy's hair and very gently
and kindly asked him again why he was crying. This time the boy said,
'My father was martyred fighting, and now my mother has married again
and my stepfather does not want me to live at home any more. Today is
Eid and everyone is happy. All the children have new clothes and nice
things to eat, but I don't have any clothes except what I am wearing.
I have no food and I don'teven have a place to live.'
The Prophet (pbuh) said to him, 'I know how you feel, I lost both my
mother and father whenI was a little boy.' The boy was surprised to
hear that it was an orphan who was comforting him, and when he looked
up to his great surprise it was the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and he
immediately jumped up to his feet out of love and respect.
The Prophet (pbuh) said to him 'If I were to become your new fatherand
Ayesha you new mother, and Fatima yournew sister, would that make you
feel better?' 'Oh yes, that would be the best thing in the world!' The
boy started smiling. The Prophet took him home and gavehim new clothes
and good food on this beautiful day of Eid. The boy indeed had a
wonderful Eid that day.
We should think of others that are less fortunate than ourselveson
this beautiful day of Eid. Not everyone has such a wonderful day. It
is a day of celebration, but take a moment to stop and think of those
who are less fortunate than ourselves. - - ▓███▓ Translator:->

Islamic Stories - Simple Acts of Charity
Qasim Rahimahullah narrates: A man passed by Abu Darda (RA) in
Damascus when he was planting a tree and said to Abu Darda (RA): Are
you also doing a (worldly) work, though you are a Sahabi (companion)
of Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: Don't hasten
to blame me; I heard Rasulullah saying: Never did a man plant a
sapling (a young tree), and then a man, or any other creation of Allah
Glory to Him, ate (or benefited) from it, except that it becomes a
Sadaqah (charity) for theplanter.
Source: Sahih Muslim.
Islam considers the slightest acts of helping others as charity! Even
smiling at others to make them happy is counted as charity. It is due
to our selfishness that mankind suffers. Letus give more and take
less.

The invalidity of the claim that new species evolve every year
Celal Şengör has claimed that 40,000 species disappear every year and
that 1,000 new species evolve to replacethem. But the idea that new
species evolve is an invalid one.
It is true that new species are discovered every year. There may betwo
explanations of this:
Newly discovered species may be one that already exist but have never
been encounteredbefore. Indeed, the regions where such species are
discovered are arid lands, distant oceans or the sea bed, where no
research has been conducted before. These species that emerge as new
research is performed, are very probably ones that have been around
for years but that no one has come across before.
A second possibility is that these new species have just been created.
Allah's creation out of nothing takes place out of human sight, where
itcannot be seen. (Allah knows the truth.) Allah creates as a
miracle. But unless He wills otherwise, nothing of this kind happens
beforepeople's eyes, in a zoo, for instance.
Two important points need to be clarified here:
This is that if it is to be claimed that the species in question have
evolved, we should also be able to find species inthe course of
evolving, alongside these perfectlydeveloped ones. A thousand new
species a year is a large number, and the signs of this supposed
evolution should be visible. But there is not the slightest evidence
of this. All the life forms discovered arecomplete, perfect and
flawless.
Second, the living things described as new species are usually
variations . Darwinists frequently engage in propaganda and describe
variations as "species." The fact is that the newly discovered life
form carries information of the frog that has been living for 200
million years. This is no new life form. No new information has been
added to the frogs we are already familiar with, and they have not
turned into a new species somehow different from the frog. This
difference is nothing more than that between a white man and a black
man.
The purple-patterned atelopus frog newly discovered in Surinam may
differ in terms of appearance and pattern, but it is simply a variation
of normal frog species. It is not a new species, as has been claimed
in Darwinist publications. In terms of its anatomical structure it is
identical to the frog below, which dates backsome 200 million years.
