My question is about hastening to leave during Hajj. Why does the one
who hastens leave depart on the twelfth (of Dhu'l-Hijjah) and the one
who stays departs on the thirteenth, when Allaah says "Whoever hastens
to leave in two days" [al-Baqarah 2:203]? Wouldn't that mean that the
one who hastens would leave on the eleventh?.
Praise be to Allaah.
The meaning of the verse is one who hastensto leave within two daysof
the days of al-Tashreeq, which are the eleventh, twelfth and
thirteenth. So hastening to leave means leaving on the twelfth.
Perhaps the questioner assumed thatthat first day was the day of Eid,
but this is incorrect.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
I would like to alert our brother pilgrims to this mistake, because
many pilgrims assume that what is meant by the verse "Whoever hastens
to leave in two days" [al-Baqarah 2:203 – interpretation of the
meaning] is leaving on the eleventh, so they count the two days as the
day of Eid and the eleventh of Dhu'l-Hijjah. But this is not the case,
rather this is a misunderstanding, because Allaah says (interpretation
of the meaning):
"And remember Allaah during the appointed Days. But whosoever hastens
to leave in two days, there is no sin on him"
[al-Baqarah 2:203]
The appointed days are the days of al-Tashreeq, and the first of the
days of al-Tashreeq is the eleventh. Based on this, the phrase
"whoever hastens to leave in two days" means in two daysof the days of
al-Tashreeq, which is thetwelfth. So people should make sure that they
understand this matter correctly, so that they will not make mistakes.

Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Meaning of the verse “Whoever hastens to leave in two days”
The Righteous Beggar
The following incident took place in Dhaka which is the capital city
of Bangladesh.
There was a beggar in the city who used to begbeside a Masjid on
Fridays after Jumah prayer. Begging was permissible for him due to his
adverse condition.Though he was a beggar, he would pay attention to
the sermonsthat were delivered during the Khutbah. Onesuch sermons was
about the importance of earning halal income. Helearnt that
supplications (dua) will not be accepted from those people whose
income are from forbidden sources. He immediately decided to accept
moneyfrom only those individuals that he knewhad halal income. His
daily earnings decreasedas a result but he was committed to his
decision.
Then came a day when the beggar died. Eventhough he lived as abeggar,
his funeral was like that of a king. Many dignitaries of the area
attended his funeral because they knew of that great sacrifice he used
to make daily in order to keep up with the commandment of Almighty
Allah.
Dear readers, we too should sincerely adopt the commandments of Allah
in our lives regardless of our social status. In this way, Allah will
elevate us in this world and in the hereafter.

Prayer of a Sick Person
Imam Baihaqi has stated on the authority of Hadhrat Ali (ra) who
stated: "Once, I was present with the Prophet (peace be upon him). At
that time, I had fallen so much sick that I prayed to Allah Almighty
to grant me death if I amdestined to die so that I may get relief from
the sickness, otherwise, I may be restored to normal health from the
sickness if I have to live for sometime. I, also, prayed for being
granted patience if this sickness is a test for me from Allah
Almighty." Hearing that, the Prophet beat Ali with hisfoot and
observed: "Oh Ali! repeat what you were saying." Ali (ra) repeated his
prayer. Then the Prophet prayedto Allah Almighty: "O Allah! Heal him
from the sickness." Ali (ra) stated that he became healthy the same
day and the pain never appeared again.
