I was coming back from a long journey, and Allaah decreed that my seat
in the airplane should be beside a group of carefreeyoung men whose
loud laughter and voices were too much, and the air wasfilled with
clouds of smoke from their cigarettes. By the wisdom of Allaah, the
plane was completely full and I could not change my seat.
I tried to escape from the problem by sleeping, but it was impossible
When Igot fed up of their noise, Itook out my Mus-haf (copy of the
Quraan), andstarted to read what I could of the Quraan in a soft
voice. Soon after that these young men started to quieten down. Some
ofthem started to read newspapers, and some of them fell asleep.
Suddenly one of them said in a loud voice, even though he was sitting
right next to me, Enough! Enough!
I thought that I had disturbed him because myvoice was too loud, so I
apologized to him and carried on reading in a whisper that only I
could hear. I saw him holding his head in his hands, then fidgeting in
his seat, moving a lot. Then he raised his head and said to me
angrily, Please, stop it, I cant stand it!!
Then he got up from his seat and went away for a while, then he came
back, greeted me with salaams, and apologized. He fell silent, and I
did not know what was going on. But after a while he turned to me with
his eyes full of tears and said to me in a whisper, For three years
or more I have not put my forehead on the ground, and I have not read
even one aayah!
For a whole month I have been on this trip, and there is no evil
action thatI did not indulge in. Then Isaw you reading Quraan, and my
world turned black and my heart was filled with despair. I felt asif
someone was stranglingme I felt every aayah that you read coming down
on my body like a whip .
I said to myself, for how long will this negligence go on? Where will
this path lead you? What will happen after all this foolish play? Then
I went to the washroom, do you know why?
I had the strong urge to weep, and I could not findanywhere else to
hide from the peoples sight!
I spoke to him in general terms about tawbah (repentance) and turning
back to Allaah, then he fellsilent.
When the plane landed, he stopped me, and it seemed that he wanted to
keep away from his companions. He asked me,with a serious expression
on his face, Do you think that Allaah will accept my repentance? I
said, If you are sincere and serious in your repentance, then Allaah
will forgive all your sins.
He said, But I have done terrible things, very terrible.
I said, Have you not heard what Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
Say: O Ibaadi (My slaves)who have transgressed against themselves
(by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of
Allaah, verily,Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft Forgiving,
Most Merciful [al-Zumar 39:53]?
I saw him smiling with joy, with his eyes filled with tears, then he
bade me farewell and left. Subhaan Allaah al-Azeem!
No matter how great a man's evil and sin, in his heart there is a seed
of goodness. If only we can reach it and make it grow,it will bear
fruit, in sha Allaah.
This seed of goodness is always fighting in man's heart, even when it
is covered by layers of whims and desires. When Allaah wills good for
His slave, He causes the light of guidance to shine in hisheart and
guides him to the path of those who areguided. Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
And whomsoever Allaah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam;
and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and
constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky [al-Anaam 6:125]

*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -*
-
Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Toilets of Satan
In a Masjid of France, a Shaikh turned to see only a few people who
were present for Fajr Salah. Then he gave a short talk to remind them
to be dutiful to their Lord. When talking about the current condition
of the Muslim Ummah, he broke into tears and said the following words:
The Muslims have become the toilets of Satan. Someone from the
gathering asked the Shaikh to explain what he has just said. Then the
Shaikh narrated the following hadith fromBukhari that the Prophet
(peace be upon him) was asked about a man who sleeps until the morning
comes, that is, after the time of the dawn prayer. He said, "That is a
man whom Satan has urinated into his two ears."

The food and drink of the Jinn
The jinn eat and drink. IbnMas'ood said: "The Messenger of Allaah
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: 'Someone from among
the jinn called me, and I went with him and recited Qur'aan for them.'
He took us and showed usthe traces of where they had been and the
traces of their fires. They asked him for food and he said, 'You can
have every bone on which the name of Allaah has been mentioned that
comes into your possession, as meat, and all the droppings as food for
your animals.' The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
said, 'So do notuse [these things] for cleaning yourselves [after
relieving oneself], for theyare the food and provision of your
brothers.'" (Reported by Muslim, 450).
According to another report: "A delegation of jinn from Naseebeen came
to me, and what good jinn they are! They asked me for food and I
prayed to Allaah for them,so that they would not pass by bones or
droppings, but they would find food on them." (Reported by
al-Bukhaari, 3571). The believing jinn may eat any bone on which the
name of Allaah has been mentioned, because the Messenger (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not permit them to have anything
onwhich Allaah's name has not been mentioned - those are for the
kuffaar among the jinn.

Jinn's Powers
Allaah has given the jinn powers that he has not given to humans.
Allaah has told us about some oftheir powers, such as the ability to
move and travelquickly. An 'ifreet from among the jinn guaranteed to
the Prophet Sulaymaan (peace be upon him) that he would bring the
throne of the Queen of Yemen to Jerusalem in a moment faster than that
needed for a man to get up from where he was sitting. Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"An 'ifreet (strong one) from the jinns said: 'I will bring it [her
throne] to you before you rise from your place (council). And verily,
I am indeed strong, and trustworthy for such work.' One with whom was
knowledge of the Scripture said: 'I will bringit to you within the
twinkling of an eye!' - then when Sulaymaan saw it placed before him,
he said, 'This is by the Grace of my Lord...'" [al-Naml 27:39-40].
