"O Allah, I seek your forgiveness for every sin for which I presented
my repentance before You; and regarding which I stood before You
swearing an oath in Your name and called Your friends from among Your
servants to be my witnesses – that I would never return to
disobeyingYou.
But when Satan with his cunning tempted me to return to it; and Your
forsaking me [due to Your anger over my impiety] caused me to
[despairingly] waver toward it; and my lower self invited me to
disobey You once more; I hid myself in shame from Your servants, but
openly and daringly committed sins before You, though I knew full well
that no covering nor any closed door could conceal me from You and no
veil could hide me from Your sight.
I still defied You by disobediently doing what You had prohibited to
me;but [despite my iniquity], You did not remove Your covering from
me, but rather treated me equal toYour pious servants, as though I had
always been an obedient servant and swift to fulfill Your every
command and fearful of Your warnings.
I remained obscure in front of Your servants, andnone besides You knew
my secret. You did not single me out from Your servants with a mark of
disgrace, but instead showered upon me blessings like theirs; and with
this You distinguished me over them as though I were, in Your sight,
of a status like theirs. All this was owing only of Your forbearance
and abundant blessings – generous grace from You to me. For You then,
O my Lord, belongs all praise.
I ask from You, O Allah, just as You have covered my evil deeds in
this world, that You do not humiliate me with them on the Day of
Judgment. Forgive my sins, O Most Merciful of the merciful!"

for Forgiveness by Hasan al-Basri

*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -*

Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dua' by Hasan al-Basri - Salaam and Greetings of Peace:
There are 571 years between the Prophet Jesus (as) and the Prophet Muhammad (saas), Ulu al-'azm Prophets (the Resolute Messengers), and Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come some 400 years after Imam Rabbani
Some people think that the fact that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come some
400 years after Imam Rabbani will somehow diminish the worth of Imam
Rabbani and claim that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come 1000 years after
the imam. The fact is, however, that Hazrat Mahdi's (as) coming around
400 years after Imam Rabbani in no way diminishes his value. Allah
sent our Prophet (saas) just 571 years after the Prophet Jesus (as), a
Resolute Messenger. TheProphet Muhammad (saas) came soon after the
Prophet Jesus (as), with a new law and book. In other words, there are
571 years between the two Resolute Messengers. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will
come some 400 years after Imam Rabbani. Indeed, Imam Rabbani declared
as such himself, saying that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come 1000 years
after the death of our Prophet (saas):
The end of this Ummah will begin WITH THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND
THOUSAND. IN OTHER WORDS, AFTER THE DEATH OF RASULULLAH... The full
implementation of the moral values of the Qur'anand the renewal of the
Islamic world IS IN THIS SECOND THOUSAND. THE JUST WITNESSES OF THE
TRUTHFULNESS OF THIS CASE ARE THE EXISTENCE OF JESUS (AS) AND THE
MAHDI (AS) IN THIS MILLENNIUM (IN OTHER WORDS, IN THE THOUSAND YEARS
FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF OUR PROPHET (SAAS)). (Imam Rabbani, Letters of
Rabbani, p. 261)
Here, Imam Rabbani is clearly and explicitly speaking of NOT AFTER
HISOWN DEATH, BUT AFTER THAT OF OUR PROPHET (SAAS).
As Imam Rabbani says, theend of the Islamic world will begin with the
second millennium and Imam Rabbani, the Prophet Jesus (as) and Hazrat
Mahdi (as) will bein the second millennium after the death of our
Prophet (saas).

NEWS - ~ Eyes turn skyward as Venus travels across sun
Venus (black spoton the left) transits across the face of the sun, as
seen in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The next transit of Venus is
likely to be seen after another 105 years. Photo: K.R. Deepak

From the U.S. to South Korea, people around the world turned their
attention to the daytime sky on Tuesday and early Wednesday in Asia to
make sure they caught the once-in-a-lifetime sight of the transit of
Venus.
For some astronomers, it wasn't just a rare planetaryspectacle as it
won't be seen for another 105 years. They hoped the passage of Venus
between the Earth and the sun would spark curiosity about the universe
and our place in it.
Sul Ah Chim, a researcher atthe Korea Astronomy and Space Science
Institute in South Korea, said he hopedpeople see life from a larger
perspective, and "not get caught up in their small, everyday
problems."
"When you think about it from the context of the universe, 105 years
is a very short period of time and the Earth is only a small, pale
blue spot," he said.
While astronomers used the latest technology to document the transit,
American astronaut Don Pettit aboard the International Space
Stationwas planning to take photos of the event and post them online.
In Mexico, at least 100 people lined up two hours early to view the
event through telescopes or one of the 150 special viewing glasses on
hand, officials said. Observation points were also set up at a
dozenlocations.
Venus, which is extremely hot, is one of Earth's two neighbours and is
so close in size to our planet that scientists at times call them
near-twins. During the transit, it will appear asa small dot.
The transit is happening during a 6-hour, 40-minutespan that began
just after 2200 GMT. What you can see and for how long depends on what
the sun's doing in your region during that exact window, and the
weather.
Those in most areas of North and Central America will see the start of
the transit until the sun sets, while those in western Asia, the
eastern half of Africa and most of Europe will catch the transit's end
once the sun comes up.
In Hawaii, astronomers planned viewings at Waikiki Beach, Pearl
Harborand Ko Olina. At Waikiki, officials planned to show webcasts as
seen from telescopes from volcanoes Mauna Kea on the Big Island and
Haleakala on Maui.
NASA planned a watch party at its Goddard Visitor Centre in Maryland
with solar telescopes, "Hubble-quality" images from its Solar Dynamics
Observatory Mission and expert commentary and presentations.
Experts from Hong Kong's Space Museum and local astronomical groups
were organising a viewing on Wednesday outside the museum's building
on the Kowloon waterfront overlooking the southern Chinese city's
famed Victoria Harbour.
This will be the seventh transit visible since Germanastronomer
Johannes Kepler first predicted the phenomenon in the 17th century.
Because of the shape and speed of Venus' orbit around the sun and its
relationship to Earth's annual trip, transits occur in pairs separated
by more than a century.
It's nowhere near as dramatic and awe-inspiring as a total solar
eclipse, which sweepsa shadow across the Earth, but there will be six
more of those this decade.
