*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Narrated: Abu Huraira
that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said: Once the death angel came to Musa
(Moses [pbuh]) and said to him: Respond to the order of your Lord. The
Prophet (SAW) said: Musa [AS] hit the angel over his eye and gouged it
out. The Prophet (SAW) added: The angel returned to Allah, the
Exalted, and complained: You sent me to a slave who does not want
death . Rather he hasganged out my eye. The Prophet (SAW) said: Allah
set the angel s eye right and said: Go back to My slave and ask him:
Do you want life? If you wish to live long, put your hand on the back
of an ox. The more hair you grasp in your hand, the more yearsyou will
live. At this Musa r')l...ll ~ said: Then what will happen? The angel
said: Then you have to die.Musa (Moses [PBUH]) said: It is better to
die now. Then he invoked Allah: 0 Lord! Let me die near the Holy Land
(palestine) by a shot of a stone. (This Hadith is sound and reported

place his hand over the back of an ox, for he will be allowed to live
for a number of years equal to the number of hairs coming under his
hand." (So the angel came to him and told him the same). Then Moses
asked,"O my Lord! What will be then?" He said, " death willbe then."
He said, "(Let it be) now." He asked Allah that He bring him near

Dua Against Debt

--
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH
MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL
- ~ - ~ -
Being in debt is a killer. It consumes us with stress, and eats away
at our happiness and sense of security. It destroys marriages, and if
the debt is between family or friends then it can ruin those
relationships. In some countries, inability topay your debt can even
you put in prison.
I feel obligated to mention that part of the reason so many people are
carrying so much debt is our addiction to the material lifestyle. We
are bombarded with messagesand advertisements telling us we need to
buy this andown that. It gets to the point where we measure our status
in life (and that of others) by what we own, or worse, by how much we
spend. If we spend a huge sum of money on a lavish wedding, then we
are "honored" in society. If not,we feel shamed. Since our incomes do
not match our desires, we go into debt.
This thinking and lifestyle is completely contrary to what Islam
teaches us, and to the example set by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and
the Sahabah (may Allah be pleased withthem all). Even when they became
rulers of the world, they continued to live simple and humble
lifestyles, because they understood what really matters in life.
So the first step for us is to readjust our priorities, and to realize
that what matters is our relationship with Allah. Beyond that, the
important things in life are our family relationships– loving our
spouses and children and spending timewith them, worshiping with them,
supporting them. Then our friendships, and doing some good in the
world, creating something meaningful, andbeing an agent of compassion
in the lives of those around you.
Dua Against Debt
If you have done whatever you can to avoid debt, and still you find
yourself burdened with debts, try this dua from Fortress of the
Muslim. Repeat it manytimes every day:
Dua for relief from debt, inArabic
Allaahummak-finee bihalaalika 'an haraamika wa 'aghninee bifadhlika
'amman siwaaka.
"O Allah, suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You
have forbidden , and make me independent of all others besides You."
(Reference: At-Tirmithi 5/560. See also Al-Albani, Sahih At-Tirmithi 3/180.)
This dua against debt is really brilliant, because the dua contains
within itself the solution to the problem. "Suffice me with what you
have allowed." Inother words, let the halal be enough for me. Don't
letme get myself into debt because of haram mortgage loans or
excessive material desire, or out-of-control consumerspending. Let me
be satisfied with a simple, halal life, so that I don't getinto debt.
If you repeat this often enough it becomes a part of your thinking and
awareness, and you modifyyour own behavior, which leads to: "make me
independent of all others besides You." You become your own man or
woman, not owing money to anyone, independent, relying only on Allah.
I'm not saying the dua is just an affirmation, I'm saying it works on
both levels, as an affirmation and as a prayer to Allah to help you
achieve that affirmation. It's a subtle and amazing dua.
Three Excellent Dua's Against Debt:
(note that #2 is the sameas the one above)
1) "Oh Allah, I take refugein You…"
Narrated by Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (ra):
One day the Messenger of Allah (saw) entered the mosque. He saw there
a man from the Ansar (a resident of Madinah) called Abu Umamah and
said to him: "What is the matter that I am seeing you sittingin the
mosque when there is no time of prayer?" Abu Umamah said: "I am
entangled in sorrow and debts." The Prophet Muhammad (ra ) replied:
"Shall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah will
remove your sorrow, and settle your debts?" Abu Umamah said: "Yes,
Messenger of Allah." The Prophet Muhammad (ra ) said: "Say in the
morning and evening: Allahumma inni 'auzu bika min alhamma wal 'huzn,
wal 'ajzi wal kasali wal bukhli wal jubn, wa dhala'iddini wa
'galabatir rajaal." (See here for the arabic text).
'O Allah, I take refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and
laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from
being overpowered by men.'
Abu Umamah said: "When Idid that Allah removed my distress and settled
my debt." [Abu Dawood]
2) "O Allah, grant me enough…"
Ali radi Allahu `anhu said that a slave, who had made a contract with
his master to pay for his freedom, came to him and said, "I am unable
to fulfil my contract, so help me." He said, "Shall I not teach you
some words which Allah's Messenger (ra) taught me, and which evenif
you had a debt as large as a mountain Allah would pay it for you?":
Allahumma akfini bihala lika an haramika wa aghnini bi fadhlika am-man siwak.

The Necessity to Refer to the Qur'an and Sunnah

--
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH
MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL
- ~ - ~ -
It is necessary to refer all matters of disagreement between Muslims
to Allah and His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. This is
important for the Muslim to know and implement because it indicates
the complete submission to Allah without which one would not be a
Muslim.Allah says, " If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer
it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last
Day. That is best and most commendable in the end" [4:59] also, He
says,"And whatever you disagree upon, its decision is with Allah"
[42:10]Ibnul Qayyim said, "Based on these verses, scholars have agreed
that referring to Allah means referring to His Book, and referring to
the Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, means referring to him in
person when alive, to his Sunnah after his death." The first verse of
surah an-Nisaa (surah 4), is also proof that the Shari'ah has been
perfected and completed. Ibnul Qayim commented on this verse, "It
covers everything that the believers may disagree upon concerning
their religion, from the smallest to the greatest, whether hidden or
evident. And if there were not a clear solution to their disagreement
in Allah's Book and His Messenger's Sunnah, or if they were not enough
for that, then He would not have ordered us referral to them."Shari'ah
is the Judge and is not to be judged: This is its power and its role.
This means that the Shari'ah rules and judges whether people's sayings
and doings are correct or not. It judges between them when in conflict
and disagreement. It confirms the right and abolishes the falsehood.
This fact sometimes is violated through some wrong
practices:Fanaticism: The fanatics in the different Madha-hib, schools
of thought, judge the Qur'an and Sunnah by what their Imam say. For
example, Abul Hassan al-karkhy, a prominent Hanafi Imam, said, "Every
verse 'in the Qur'an' that differs with our Madh-hab'sunderstanding is
either wrongly interpreted or abrogated, and the same applies to every
hadeeth aswell."Democracy: Today, one of the ugly examples of people
taking the Divine Shari'ah into their own hands, is the one related
tothe so-called democracy by taking people's opinion, directly or
through their parliament, about implementing the Islamic Laws. The
essence of this is subjugating the implementation of the Creator's
Shari'ah to the will of His creatures or rendering it to a mere choice
like any human-set constitution or laws. This is total and clear
disbelief, Kufr.In explaining the Islamic Aqueedah, Imam at-Tahawi
said, concerning the one who rules with other than Allah's rule, "If
he thought that ruling in accordance with what Allahhas descended is
not mandatory and that he hasa choice in it, or he belittled it, while
certain that it is Allah's judgement, then he has committed Kufr,
disbelief." No one from this Ummah is faultless except the Prophet,
sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. And so Allah ordered us, when in
conflict, to refer toHim and to His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa
sallam, and not to refer to anyone else's opinion or saying or laws.
Hence it is understood that there can be fault in anyone's sayings
except the sayings of Allah and His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa
sallam. This also indicates that the claim of some sects that their
Imams are faultless is baseless.Asserting this principle, Imam Malik
said, "Any one's sayings may be corrected except those of the Prophet,
sallallahu alayhe wa sallam." And similar statements were quoted from
Abu Hanifa, Ahmed, Shafi'ee and others
although their exact words may differ a little. Allah says, " Had it
been from other than Allah, much discrepancy would have been found"
[4:82]The referral to the Qur'an and the Sunnah has to be done by
those who qualify for it, the scholars, Allah says, " If you do not
know, ask of those who possess the Message." [16:43]With regards to
asking the scholars and referring to them, we caution the Muslims from
two types of scholars:1) Scholars who are deeply buried under their
books and have lost contact with the outside world. Ibnul Qayim said,
"The Mufti and the Governor cannot govern fairly unless they have two
kinds of knowledge. The first is the understanding of the reality,
being totally involved in it and being able to derive facts from what
happened using evidence, indications and signs, until they are totally
informed. The second is the understanding of Allah's rulings depicted
in His Book or through the sayings of His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe
wa sallam, and understanding how to apply them to the reality under
consideration''/

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL

"O you people, adore your Lord who created you and those who came
before you, that you may have thechance to be righteous". (The Qur'an
2:21)
Your Way to Islam
An invitation to all to join the faithful in their progress to Allah's
blessing."Those who obey Allah andHis Messenger are in the Company of
those who are blessed by Allah, The Prophets, The Sincere (faithful),
the Witnesses (Martyrs) and the Righteous (who do good), and what a
beautiful fellowship!" (The Qur'an 4:69).
CHAPTER 1
PREFACE
1. Behold all that is around you on earth: things, plants, insects,
animals, birds and fish...
2. Don't you see that they have accurate systems governing and guiding
their life?
3. Behold all that is above you in space: sun, moon, planets, stars,
clouds, wind ... etc., aren't they all functioning properly and
accurately and rendering valuable services to our life on earth?
4. Think of yourself, of your organs, of your numerousand efficient
body systems, how they are cooperatively functioningto secure
healthful life foryou!
5. Who created all these fantastic things? Who established their
accuratesystems? Who is controlling this huge and complicated
universe?
6. No one dared so far to claim creating, or being able to create, any
single thing, even a hair!!
7. The Creator and The Sustainer of all these Creatures is One only;
if there were more than one there would have been confusion in the
heavens and the earth! That One is Allah (the only true God).
8. It is very logical, then, to acknowledge this fact, to know our
Creator and Provider to be grateful toHim, and to submit ourselves and
our life to His Wise and Merciful Guidance.
9. Our Creator has endowedus with intellect to understand and with
freedom to choose the right path.
10. Allah has showed us theright path through his messengers sealed by
Mohammad and His Books completed by TheQur'an.
11. In front of us there are two ways: one is leading to bliss in this
life and in the Hereafter that is Islam.
12. The other is leading to misery and loss in this world, and to
eternal punishment in the Hereafter. The choice is ours, what are we
goingto choose? May Allah guide us into the Right Path! Aameen!
CHAPTER 2
ISLAM WHY? FOR WHOM? WHEN?
Islam.... Why?
1. Because Islam is the religion chosen by Allah for all humanity.
2. Because Islam is the religion of all prophets since Adam to
Mohammad (Peace be upon them all).
3. Because Islam is the religion delivered by all Messengers of Allah
and Islam is the seal of all heavenly revelations, and
4. Because Prophet Muhammad – Sallallahu alayhi wasallam – the
Messenger of Islam is the last of God's apostles, and
5. Because The Qur'an is thelast of Allah's scriptures.
6. Allah ta'ala (Glory be to Him) says: "Do they seek other than the
Deen (Religion) of Allah? While all creatures in the heavens and on
earth have, Willingly or unwillingly, bowed to HisWill (accepted
Islam), andto Him shall they All be brought back," (The Qur'an 3:83)
"If anyone desires a Deen (Religion) other than Islam (submission to
Allah) it will never be accepted from him; and in the Hereafter he
will be in the ranks of those who have lost (everything) (The Qur'an
3:85).
Islam... for whom?
1. For every person upon whom Allah has bestowed life and intellect.
2. For those who can see the blessings of Allah.
3. For those who can hear the Words of Allah.
4. For those who can comprehend the signs of Allah.
5. For those whose hearts are full of love and gratitude to Allah.
6. For you, for me, and for those whose blessed hearts are open to faith.
Islam ... When?
1. Now and always.
2. Obey your heart's call to faith.
3. It is your life chance.
4. A golden chance that might not strike your heart again.
5. Answer Allah's call. He summons you.
6. "But your God is one God,submit your wills to Him (in Islam), and
give the good news to those who humble themselves." [The Qur'an
22:34].
CHAPTER 3
THE GREAT TRIP
1. If you become convinced that Islam is the true religion,
2. Seek a trustworthy Islamic authority such as an Islamic Center, a
mosque, or an Islamic Organization.
3. Contact the person in charge and tell him aboutyour wish to embrace Islam.
4. The person in charge will ask you some questions to know how far
you are convinced with Islam.
5. This pamphlet will provide you with answers for such questions.
6. Before you reach that honorable occasion, i.e., declaring
conversion to Islam, wash the whole of your body with the intention of
converting toIslam. It is also recommended for this very special
occasion, to shave under-arm and pubic hair, dress up, and apply a
pleasant-smellingperfume to the body.
