*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -*

Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

First Infallible: Mohammad Al-Mustafa (saw) Description:
Holy Quran and the story of Pharaoh Ramses II (Firaun Mummy) Miracle of Islam
A miracle, by definition, is a supernatural event beyond the laws of
science; it is fulfilled only by Allah's will and power. It has
significance and can be confirmed only bythose who directly witnessed
the event in time.
When Francisco Mitra became the president of France in 1981, France
requested from the Egyptian government to host the mummy of Pharaoh.
For the purposeof running laboratory and archeological examinations on
the mummy of the most notorious dictator ever lived on earth. Upon
arrival, very royal attendants were there including the French
president himself and all ministers who bowed in honor for the Firaun
Mummy.
When the ceremony ended, the mummy was carried to a specially-designed
section at the Archeology Centre of France. Were it started tobe
tested by the greatest French archeological andanatomical scientists
in order to discover more about such a great FiraunMummy.
The scientists were headed by Professor Maurice Bucaille. The
scientists were trying to restore the mummy while Professor Maurice
Bucaille was mainly concerned with how did this mummy died? The final
report of the scientists was released late at night which statesthat
the remaining salt inthe mummy is an overt evidence that it was drawn
in the sea, and thebody was rescued very shortly where it was
immediately embalmed to be saved.
An amazing thing was still confusing Professor Maurice Bucaille is
that how could this body possibly be safer than any other mummy
despite being taken out of the sea up until this time. Professor
Maurice Bucaille was writing his final report on what he thought would
be a new discovery about saving Pharaoh's body immediately after his
death and embalming it.
Note: The picture shown above is the dead body of Ramses II, the
EgyptianKing in the era of Prophet Moses (pbuh) . Itsage is
approximately 3000 years old and it wasfound by the Red Sea, at the
place called Jabalain, and is now on display in the Royal Mummies
Chamber of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
And there, someone whispered to him that Muslims claim to know
something about the drowning of this mummy. Yet Professor Maurice
Bucaille firmly denied such thing saying that it's impossible to
discover this without the development of science and without using his
high-tech and complicated laboratories and computers.
To his surprise, he was told that Muslims believe in a book called "
Holy Quran " and this Holy Quran narrates the story of Pharaoh's
drowning and ensures the safety of his body after his death as to be a
Sign to mankind.
Professor Maurice Bucaille couldn't believe his own ears and started
to wonder: How can a book existed 1400 years ago speak about the mummy
that was only found 111 years ago, in 1898? How can that be possible
while the ancient Egyptian heritage was discovered only a few decades
ago and no one knew about it before?
Professor Maurice Bucaille sat down pondering on what he was told
about the book of Muslims, Holy Quran while his Holy Book (The Bible)
narrates only the drowning of Pharaoh without saying anything about
his body.
"Is it possible that this mummy in front of me is the one who was
chasingProphet Moses?" "Is it possible that Prophet Muhammad knew this
1400 years ago?"
Professor Maurice Bucaille couldn't sleep that night till they brought
him the Old Testament where he read: "And the waters returned, and
covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh
that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one
of them. (Exodus 14:28) But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red
sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. (Psalm 136:15) For the horse of
Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea,
and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the
Children of Israel went on dry land inthe midst of the sea. (Exodus
15:19)"
Professor Maurice Bucaille was surprised that the Holy Book ( The
Bible ) didn't mention about the destiny of the body and that it will
be saved.
When the scientists were done with the mummy, France retuned it to
Egypt, but Professor Maurice Bucaille couldn't rest for a moment since
he was told that Muslims know about the safety ofthe body from Holy
Quran. So, he decided to travel and meet anatomy Muslim scientists and
there he spoke about his discovery of the safety of the mummy after
its death in the sea and so on.
One of the Muslim scientists stood up and simply opened Holy Quran and
pointed to theProfessor at one verse:"We brought the Childrenof Israel
across the sea and Pharaoh and his troops pursued them out of tyranny
and enmity. Then, when he was on the point of drowning, he (Pharaoh)
said, I believe that there is no god but Him in whom theChildren of
Israel believe.I am of those who submit(to Allah in Islam). What! Now!
And indeed you disobeyed before and you were of the mischief-makers.
This day shall Wesave you in your body, that you may be a Sign tothose
who come after you! But verily, many among mankind are neglectful of
Our Signs." (Holy Quran 10:90-92)
Professor Maurice Bucaille was struck whenhe read that and immediately
stood in front of the crowd and said loudly: "I believe in Islam, I
believe in Holy Quran."
Then he went back to France with a different face he traveled with. In
France, he dedicated 10 years investigating the scientific discoveries
and comparing them with Holy Quran and trying to come up with one
scientific contradiction with Holy Quran. Finally he quoted one verse
from Holy Quran to be hisconclusion:
"No falsehood can approach it (this book) from before or behind it: it
is sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all praise." (Holy
Quran41:42)
As a result of all years of his research, Professor Maurice Bucaille
wrote a book that shook all Europe, especially the scientists there
"The Bible, the Quran and Science: The Holy Scriptures Examined in the
light of Modern Knowledge."

Pre-Islamic World is the era of "Ignorance" (Jahiliah)
Before the advent of Islam, people all over the world were sadly
impoverished in thought, opinions, and individual and social attitudes.
Although such conditionswere not the same in all parts of the world,
generally speaking, all the people of the world shared superstitious
beliefs, intellectual deviations, inhumane social traditions, myths
and social and moral conflicts.
Before Islam emerged, the Jews had changed the religion of Prophet
Musa / Moses (as) into hidebound dogma and its principles into
hollow, lifeless rules and precepts. The spirit of materialism had
penetrated into people's lives. Unfortunately, Christianity, which had
been presented for the moral rectification and spiritual refinement of
the people, was changed in nature by the Christianclergy and became a
vehicle for the passionateambitions of most of them. Since it lacked
complete, comprehensivelaws and regulations for social systems, it
proved unable to provide the people with deliverance and comprehensive
guidance.
It was due to such conditions that people allover the world shared
superstitious ideas, inhuman social traditions, myths, social and
moral conflicts.
The fire of corruption and perdition was raging. Superstitions
andfalse views ruled people in the name of religion! Paganism and the
concept of the Trinity had been imposed upon them. Many worshipped
idols, fire, cows and stars. This same moral and spiritual corruption
and regression, which had spread everywhere, caused dishonesty,
darkness and deviations in human societies. Bloodshed, murder,
tyranny, and oppression prevailed all over the world. In fact,
humanity had been put on the verge of the abyss of total destruction!
Arabia during the dark Pre-Islamic Times (BeforeProphet Muhammed (saw))
The people of the Arabian Peninsula suffered from their tribal and
pastoral life in the deserts, coupled with blood-thirsty feudalism.
The economic crisis resulting from the exploitation of the people by
the ruling classand by bands of usurers had robbed human life ofits
meaning and darkened the horizon of social well-being.
What was lacking was law and justice. The wealthy usurers who engaged
in trade in Makkah had amassed enormous amounts of wealth by
illegitimate means and exploited the weak and poor classes of society
and by overcharging the orphanand the widow. In fact, they
increasingly exacerbated anti-human social class differences through
usury and oppressive exploitation.
Due to their ignorance, the Arab tribes in those days generally
engaged in worshipping natural phenomena. Most shameful of all was
their worship of lifeless statues- idols. The House of God, the Kaaba,
was used as the idol-temple of the Arabs.
Any one of the indecent, degrading social and moral customs in Arabia
at that time was enough to destroy the honour of a whole nation. False
beliefs and class differences were strong. The Arabs wrongly believed
that only those were superior who descended from the Arab race and had
Arab blood! As a matter of fact, the twentieth-century form of
nationalism and racism was quite prevalent among the Arabs during the
first pagan period.
Murder, bloodshed, drinking, and illegitimatesexual intercourse were
quite ordinary and commonplace. Plunder, robbery, savagery,
aggression, and treachery were their obvious characteristics, and
genocide was considered a sign of bravery and courage. As the Arabs
before the timeof the Prophet Muhammed (saw) believed the birth of a
daughter to be harmful or were either afraid of poverty and
destitution, they either killed their innocent daughters or buried
them alive. In some cases even the existence of one daughter in a
family was considered shameful.
"And do not kill your children for fear of poverty; We give them
sustenance and yourselves (too); surely tokill them is a great wrong."
(Noble Qur'an 17:31)
Such was the situation and moral conditions of amiserable society out
of whose dark horizon came the light of Islam.
There is no doubt that a leader who is himself immoral, unscrupulous,
and without praise-worthy human characteristics is unable to rectify
human societiesand save the people. It is only divine leaders who,
inspired by Almighty Allah (SWT), are able to make profound basic
transformations in all phases of the people's individual and social
life.
Now we must try to understand what kind of person such a leader of the
worldwide revolution was and what changes he made in the world. It is
crystal clear that a person who not only is not affected by such a
corrosive society, but also grieves over it and attempts to combat it,
possesses a great divine character and is competent to lead peopleand
guide them onto the path of salvation.
Prophet Muhammed (saw) and Animal Rights
In that age when men were often cruel to each other, let alone to
animals, Prophet Muhammed's (saw) taught his companions (Sahabah) ,
that one should be kind to all living things, animal or plant, since
they are all part of Allah's creation. Prophet Muhammed's (saw) mercy
and compassion was so deep that animals, even plants would benefit
from His existence as their guardian.
"Fear Allah (SWT) with regard to animals", said Prophet Muhammed
(saw), "ride them when they are fit to be ridden, and get off their
backs when they are tired; surely, there are rewards for being kind
and gentleto animals, and for givingthem water to drink."
Islam has taught that in the eyes of Almighty Allah(SWT), animals also
have rights in the same way asman has. They should notbe treated
badly, tortured or left to starve without food or water.
One day, Prophet Muhammed (saw) told hiscompanions (Sahabah) the story
of two women:"A prostitute was guided by Allah's truth and ultimately
went to paradise because she gave water to a dog dying of thirst in
the desert." While a dog was going round a well and was about to die
of thirst, prostitute saw it and took off her shoe and watered it. So
Allah (SWT) forgave her because of that good deed." And for the other
women, Prophet Muhammed (saw) said, "Awoman was tortured andwas put in
Hell because of a cat which she had kept locked till it died of
hunger." Prophet Muhammed (saw) furthersaid, "You neither fed it nor
watered when you locked it up, nor did you set it free to eat the
insects of the earth."
Prophet Muhammed (saw) said: A man walking along a path felt very
thirsty. Reaching a well, he descended into it, drank his fill, and
cameup. Then he saw a dog with its tongue hanging out, trying to lick
up mudto quench its excessive thirst.
The man said, "This dog is feeling the same thirst that I felt." So he
went down into the well again, filled his shoe withwater and gave the
dog a drink.
So, Almighty Allah (SWT) forgave his sins.
Prophet Muhammed (saw) was asked, "O Messenger of Allah (SWT),are we
rewarded for kindness towards animals?" Prophet Muhammed (saw)
replied: There is a rewardfor kindness to every living animal or
human.
Prophet Muhammed (saw) was once performing ablution (Wudhu) for
prayers froma pot of water. A Cat passed there and turned its eyes at
the pot of water with a thirsty look.Prophet Muhammed (saw) realized
at once that the Cat was very thirsty, so he stopped theablution
(Wudhu) and placed the pot before theCat.
Only after the Cat had fully quenched its thirst, did Prophet Muhammed
(saw) resume the ablution (Wudhu). By thisaction, Prophet Muhammed
(saw) has shown that quenching the thirst of even a small dumb animal
is a noble act full of virtue and should be given first attention
before one prepares for offering prayers to Almighty Allah (SWT).
A man brought the chick of a bird to the gatheringof Prophet Muhammed
(saw) and his companions (Sahabah), and they noticed that theparent of
the chick was following it, flapping around it. When the man sat down
its parent threw itself upon its chick, and did not concern itself
with the danger, out of care towards its chick. This astonished the
companions.
Prophet Muhammed (saw) then turned to his companions said: 'Are you
amazed at this bird? You have taken its chick and it threw itself into
danger out of mercy for the chick! I swear by Allah (SWT), your Lord
is more merciful to you than this bird is to its chick. Then he turned
to the man and asked him to let the chick go.
Even the means of slaughtering animals in Islam is done in a way which
will bring minimal pain to the animal. Is not it amazing that these
laws came about 1400 years ago. Yet, we are still struggling to keep
animals from being abused and mistreated.
Prophet Muhammed (saw) and Beating the Servant
Once, a companion of Prophet Muhammed (saw) began hitting his slave.
The slave kept pleading: "By Allah! Do not beat me. For Allah's sake
forgive me." The master, however, refusedto pardon him and continued
to shower beatings upon him.
Some people informed Prophet Muhammed (saw) of the slave's predicament
whereupon he (saw) got up and started out towards the scene of this
incident. As soon as the companion's eyes fell upon Prophet Muhammed
(saw) he stopped his beatings whereupon Prophet Muhammed (saw) said to
him: "He placed you under the oath of Allah (SWT), but you refused
topardon him and now that you have set your eyes upon me, you have
restrained yourself?"
The man, in order to make amends for his deplorable behaviour, said:
"I now free him for the sake (and pleasure) of Allah (SWT)!"
Prophet Muhammed (saw) said: "Had you not freed him, you would have
dropped face-downinto the fire of Hell."
Prophet Muhammed (saw) and Impartiality between Children
Once, a lady entered the house of Aishah, the wifeof Prophet Muhammed
(saw), with her two children. Aishah presented three dates to the
lady, who gave one date to each of her two children and taking the
third date she halved it and once again distributed it evenly amongst
them.
When Prophet Muhammed (saw) returned, Aishah narrated the episode to
him whereupon he (saw)said: "Did the lady's act leave you astonished?
Due to her fairness and even-handedness, Allah (SWT) shall place her
in Paradise."
It has also been reported that once, a father arrived in the presence
of Prophet Muhammed (saw) accompanied by his two children. In his
presence he kissed one child and ignored the other. Noticing this
incorrect act Prophet Muhammed (saw) commented: "Why do you not treat
your children equally?"

before one prepares for offering prayers to Almighty Allah (SWT).

Justifying Evil Acts in the light of Noble Qur'an andIslamic Teachings
Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) had heard that an old man had become famous
for his piety. One day, he saw him surrounded by alarge crowd. A
little later, the man came out of the crowd and distancing himself
from them, proceeded alone, whereupon Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) began
to follow him. After a short time, Imam Jafar al-Sadiq(AS) observed
that he hadstopped near a bakery from where he stealthily picked up
two loaves of bread. After a short distance, he stopped at a fruit
store, picking up two pomegranates in thesame manner and once again
continued on his way.
As he walked further, the old man approached a sick person, handed
over the loaves and fruits to him and was about to move on when Imam
Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) came up to him and said, "I have witnessed
something greatly astonishing from you", and then proceeded to narrate
the acts, which he had witnessed.
The old man said, "I suppose you are Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS)."
Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) replied in the affirmative.
The man continued, "It is really unfortunate that inspite of being of
the progeny ( Ahlul Bayt ) of Prophet Muhammad (saw) You do not seem
toknow anything."
Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) asked, "What act of ignorance have you
noticed from me?"
The man said, "But do you not know that God has said in the Noble
Qur'an "Whoever brings a good deed, he shall have ten like it and
whoever brings an evil deed, he shall be recompensed only with the
like of it".
On this basis, since I have stolen two fruits and twoloaves of bread,
I have four sins in my account, but on the other hand, since I have
given it in the way of God, I have earned forty good deeds.Reducing
four from forty,I still have thirty-six gooddeeds in my account; a

Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) explained to him, "But have you not heard
this verse of the Noble Qur'an, which says: "Allahonly accepts from
those who guard (against evil)". [5:27] You have earned four sins by
stealing those four items and four more sins for giving them to
someone else without the permission of the owners, so you have
collected eight sins but not a single good deed."
Later, Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) said to his companions, "With such

Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) student proves: Imamate is guidance we need
Basra is a big city and themain port of Iraq. It is situated at the
mouth of river Euphrates.
There, in a big mosque, people used to assemble to discuss various
subjects on Islamic rules and laws. A famous learned
priest/clergymanby name Amr Bin Ubeid was once preaching on the
subject of Imamate (An Islamic term referringto "leadership" of Imams
who followed Prophet Muhammad (saw) in leadership of Islam, according
to Shi'a belief ).He was surrounded by a big crowd of people whowere
asking various questions on the subject. Suddenly, a young and
intelligent student of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) by name of Hesham,
entered the gathering and sat down in the first row. He addressed the
priest saying that he was a stranger and would liketo ask some
questions. Ongetting the permission todo so, he asked the following:
Hesham: First, Sir! May I please know if you have eyes?
Amr: Young Boy! Is this a question to ask?
Hesham: Whatever it maybe, this is my question to which I shall
appreciate your answer.
Amr: Alright! You are at liberty to ask, even though it is a foolish question.
Hesham: As I have alreadyasked, Sir, may I please know if you have eyes?
Amr: Yes, I have.
Hesham: For what use arethey?
According to a verse (2:124) of Noble Qur'an, Imamate is a station
that was granted to prophet Ibrahim al-Khalil (pbuh) after that great
test, trial by Kalimat (words). According to traditions that are
consecutively narrated (mutawatir) and which both Shi'a andSunnis have
related, this station was also placed inAhlul Bayt of the Prophet
Muhammad (saw). Amr: With eyes, I can see faces of people and color of
various things.
Hesham: And you have a nose also?
Amr: Yes. I do have one.
Hesham: What is its function?
Amr: I smell the scent andodor by it.
Hesham: And do you havea mouth?
Amr: Yes I do have.
Hesham: For what use is it?
Amr: I can talk to people or taste food and drink with it.
Hesham: Do you have ears?
Amr: Yes, I have two ears.
Hesham: What is their function?
Amr: I can hear voices by them.
Hesham: And do you havea mind?
Amr: Almighty has bestowed me with that also.
Hesham: What is its use?
Amr: With that I am able to distinguish things whatever is felt by the
other senses like hands, eyes, ears, nose, tongue etc. In case of a
difference, I am able to solve with its help. In case of a doubt, I
can dispel with it and be sure.
Hesham: So, does it meanthat despite being sound and healthy, all
these organs cannot function independently without the help of the
mind.
Amr: No, No! None of the organs can function independently without the
help of the mind.
Hesham: Why is it so? After all, the organs are perfect and strong
enough to differentiate between things?
Amr: Young Boy! When any organ has some doubt about a thing, which it
smells, sees or tastes, it brings the matter to the mind and itis the
mind, which confirms the truth and removes the doubt.
Hesham: So, from what you have said, do you want me to understand that
Almighty Allah (SWT) has created and designedthe mind to guide the
organs and remove doubts?
Amr: Yes! It is so.
Hesham: So the mind is a necessity, otherwise the organs could not
work independently.
Amr: Yes.
Hesham: Please Sir! Proclaim your opinion with fairness and justice on
this point also. If Almighty Allah (SWT) has not left the organs of
man's body without the guidance of the mind, how is it possible that
Almighty Allah (SWT) could leave millions of Hiscreatures without an
IMAM to guide and solve their problems arising out of doubts and
conflicts? Should not our common sense accept this fact?
On hearing this logic argument, and having noanswer to give, Amr Bin
Ubeid kept silent and went into deep thinking.
Hesham was a deeply learned person and one of the closest companions
of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) from whom he had obtained his knowledge.
Note: There is a Hadith, according to which Prophet Muhammad (saw)
said: "If (as few as) three persons go on a journey, they must appoint
one out of themselves as their leader." From this one may infer to
what extent our Prophet Muhammad (saw) regarded as harmful the
disorder and absence of an authority that could resolve social
conflicts and serve as a unifying bond among individuals.

Performing Hajj or In-Vitro fertilization first?
Question
My husband and I have been married for four years but we do not
haveany children. We went to a doctor and she told us that we need to
perform an In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure if we are to have a
child. We have not yet performed Hajj and only have enough money to
cover the costs of either the IVF, which isvery expensive, or our
obligation of Hajj, which is also very expensive as we live in the
United Arab Emirates. It will cost both of us about twenty-five
thousand Dirhams in total. We are of modest means, praise be to Allaah
The Almighty, and Ido not know whether or not we will be able to save
such a sum of money later on. I am yearning to have a child in my life
and fear that my husband's relatives would convince him to marry
another woman soas to have a child. What should I do? Which of thetwo
matters should be prioritized?
Fatwa
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
Hajj is obligatory upon a Muslim who is capable of performing it. This
is supported by the verse (which means): {And [due] to Allaah from the
people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find
thereto a way.} [Quran 3:97]
Ability means having money that enables a person to pay the expenses
of Hajj provided that it is in surplus to his necessary needs, like
residence andlife expenditures.
As for having children, there is no doubt that it is one of the most
important needs in a person's life but it does not reach the degree of
necessity. Hence, you have to give priority to performing Hajj over
the IVF which you mentionedis very costly.
We would like to point out that the costs of Hajj vary according to
the means of transportation, accommodation services in the sacred
cities and soon. If you choose a cheaper Hajj package, you may reduce
its costs in a way which helps yousave some money that may help you
with the IVF procedure. We ask Allaah The Almighty to assist you in
realizing all your aims and make reproduction easy for you.

Entering Makkah intending to perform `Umrah (lesser-Hajj) takesthe same ruling as that ofthe Makkans
Question
I live in Jeddah and have daughters who live in Makkah. Sometimes I
visitthem and stay in Makkah for a week or two. I am now in Makkah and
wantto perform 'Umrah so should I return to Jeddah to assume Ihraam or
just do the same as the people of Makkah?
Fatwa
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
If you want to assume Ihraam (ritual consecration) when you are in
Jeddah, then your Meeqaat (point at which the rites are initiated) is
the same town which you are in. This is based on the statement of the
Prophet as he explained the locations of the Meeqaats: "…And whoever
is living within these boundaries can assume Ihraam from the place
where he decides (to perform Hajj or 'Umrah)". [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]
Thus, if you came to Makkah with no intention of performing 'Umrah or
came to it intending 'Umrah, stayed for some time and then wanted to
assume Ihraam for 'Umrah while still there, then the rulingof Ihraam
of the people of Makkah is applicable to you. Hence, you have to go to
a place outside the sacred precincts of Makkah, be it At-Tan'eem or
any other place, and assume Ihraam for 'Umrah from there. You do not
have to return to Jeddah because, in such acase as you mentioned, the
ruling of the people of Makkah applies to you.

Her parents sponsored the construction of her house on her husband’s land
Question
As-salamu-alaikum Mufti,Iam married without any issue,Alhamdulilah
having husband, both parents,3 siblings all married with issues,2
brothers and 1 sister.Recently my parents gifted me and has sponsered
construction cost on a portion of the site(land) which is on my
husband'sname,my question is what should i do so as myheirs can get
what gift/money my parents gave me & which belongsto me now, to be
distributed impartially according to sharia,in case of my death.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
According to the preponderant opinion of the jurists the parents are
obliged to bejust between their children in gifting them, so they
should not favor some of them over the others without a valid reason.
For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 119032 .
If we presume that there is a reason for you being favored over your
siblings, like your need for accommodation while your husband is
incapable of offering it, then this need can be fulfilled by renting
an accommodation, and there is no need to pay for the construction
costs. We have already issued Fataawa 94685 and 96941 clarifying this
issue.
Therefore, this gift is considered invalid unless all your siblings
agree to it or that the father gives each one of them the same like
it.
If the donor is unjust in gifting his children and he does not take
back the gift [from the person whom he had favored over others], then
the person who is favored should do so (i.e. give back the gift),
otherwise he would be sinful according to the opinion that it is an
obligation to give back the gift that was received unjustly.
To conclude, the construction costs which you mentioned are not
considered as your property except with the conditions that we have
mentioned to you, i.e. that your siblings should consent to it or that
they should be gifted the same like it.
If this is not achieved, then you should give back what your father
had given to you as construction costs, or that you make your siblings
co-owners of your share of the estate, in which case, all of you will
own it. Hence, your heirs will only get your share of it.

Can a Muslim fast and pray for the purpose of supplication?
The other question is can one go to the Al Haram to pray for one's
needs, e.g to pray for cure from sickness , to pray to have children
etc. Still can one fast for some days for the purpose of requesting
for one's needs from Allah for the reasons stated above? (i.e. to pray
for children etc).
Praise be to Allaah.
There is no reason why aMuslim should not pray in al-Masjid al-Haraam
for the purpose of supplication, but it is better for him not to
restrict his intention in the prayer to supplication. Rather his
intention should be to worship Allaah through this prayer and to hope
for its reward in the Hereafter. Moreover, prayer includes dhikr,
reciting Qur'aan, bowing, prostrating anddu'aa', so the du'aa' should
just be a part of the prayer; it is not the primary purpose. Al-Masjid
al-Haraam is one of the blessed and venerated places, so if a person
prays and calls upon Allaah whilst prostrating, for example – then he
will have combined the virtue of the place with the virtueof the
action. If this is done during the last third of the night, he will
also add the virtue of the time.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:
With regard to the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him), "As for rukoo', glorify your Lord therein, and as for
sujood (prostration) strive in du'aa' therein, because then it is more
likely that you will be answered" (narrated by Muslim, 479, from the
hadeeth of Ibn 'Abbaas) – this contains the command to glorify Allaah
in rukoo', and the command to make du'aa' when prostrating indicates
that du'aa' in sujood is more likely to be answered than in rukoo'.
Hence he said, "because then it is more likely that you will be
answered". And he said, "The closest that the slave is to his Lord is
when he is prostrating." (Narrated by Muslim 482 from the hadeeth of
AbuHurayrah). This is a command that du'aa' should be made in sujood.
Majmoo' al-Fataawa, 22/378
And he said:
Du'aa' is answered whenrain is falling, when battle in joined, when
the adhaan and iqaamah are given, following prayers, when prostrating,
and when offered by one who is fasting, one who is travelling and one
who is oppressed, and so on. All of this is narrated in well-known
ahaadeeth in the books of Saheeh and Sunan. Du'aa' is also likely to
be answered in the sacred places such as'Arafah, Muzdalifah, Mina, the
Multazim and other sacred places in Makkah, and in the mosques in
general. The greater the virtue of the mosque – such as the three
Sacred Mosques [inMakkah, Madeenah and Jerusalem] – the better prayers
and du'aa's are in them.
Majmoo' al-Fataawa, 27/129-130
On the other hand it maybe said:
Doing righteous deeds in the hope that du'aa' will be answered is
something that is prescribed in sharee'ah. Hence doing wudoo' and
praying in al-Masjid al-Haraam may be included among the righteous
deeds that may be done before starting du'aa' in the hope that that
the du'aa'will be answered.
It was narrated from 'Uthmaan ibn Hunayf that a blind man came tothe
Prophet (S) and said:Pray to Allaah to heal me. He said, "If you
wish, you may delay the reward until the Hereafter, for that is better,
or if you wish, I will make du'aa' for you." He said, Make du'aa'. So
he told him to do wudoo' and do it well, and to pray two rak'ahs, and
to say this du'aa': "Allaahumma innias'aluka wa atawajjahu ilayka bi
Muhammadin Nabi al-rahmah. Yaa Muhammad inni qad tawajjahtu bika ila
rabbiy fi haajati haadhihi li tuqdaa. Allaahumma shaffi'hu fiyya (O
Allaah, I ask of You and I turn my face towards You by the virtue of
Muhammad theProphet of Mercy. O Muhammad, I have turned my face by
virtue of you to my Lord concerning this need of mine so that it may
be met. O Allaah, accept his intercession concerning me)."
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3578; Ibn Maajah, 1385; this hadeeth was
classedas saheeh by al-Tirmidhi and by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami',
1279

to do wudoo' and pray two rak'ahs before he made du'aa'; this
indicates that prayer is one of the righteous deeds by virtue of
whicha person's du'aa' may bemore likely to be answered, and that may
be one of the causes of the du'aa' being answered.
With regard to fasting, what has been said with regard to prayer may
also be said with regard to fasting. The intention behind it should be
to worship Allaah by meansof this great act of worship, and to attain
the reward for it in the Hereafter, and to fear Allaah and earn His

person to make a lot of du'aa', for the du'aa' of the fasting person

Guidance is in the hand of Allaah
How can we reconcile between the aayahs (interpretation of the
meanings): "Verily, you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like"
[al-Qasas 28:56] and "And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding
(mankind) to the Straight Path"[al-Shooraa 42:52]?
Praise be to Allaah.
Allaah has created man and given him reason, and He has sent down
tohim Revelation and sent to him Messengers to callhim to the truth
and warn him against falsehood. Then He has left him to make his
ownchoice.
"And say: 'The truth is from your Lord.' Then whosoever wills, let him
believe; and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve
[al-Kahf 18:29 – interpretation of the meaning]
Allaah commanded His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him) to convey the truth to all ofmankind. Then they have the
choice to do as they wish. If a person obeys, he benefits himself, and
if he disobeys, he harms himself, as Allaah says (interpretation of
the meaning):
"Say: 'O you mankind! Now truth (i.e. the Qur'aan and Prophet
Muhammad), has come to you from your Lord. So whosoever receives
guidance, he does so for the good of his own self;and whosoever goes
astray, he does so to his own loss; and I am not (set) over you as a
Wakeel (disposer of affairs to oblige you for guidance)'"[Yoonus
10:108]
Islam is the religion of the natural state of man (fitrah), the
religion of reason and thought. Allaah has distinguished the truth
from falsehood. He has enjoined all that is good and forbidden all
that is evil. He has permitted good things and forbidden evil things.
There is no compulsion in religion because the benefits or harms come
back upon the created being, not upon the Creator. Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become
distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taaghoot (false
gods) and believesin Allaah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy
handhold that will never break"
[al-Baqarah 2:256]
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Whosoever does righteous good deed, it is for (the benefit of) his
ownself; and whosoever does evil, it is against hisownself. And your
Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves"[Fussilat 41:46]
Guidance is in the hand of Allaah. If Allaah willed,He could guide all
of mankind, for there is nothing that He cannot do on this earth or in
theheavens. Nothing happens in His Dominionexcept that which He wills.
"Say: 'With Allaah is the perfect proof and argument, (i.e. the
Oneness of Allaah, the sending of His Messengers and His Holy Books,
to mankind); had He so willed, He would indeed have guided you
all'"[al-An'aam 6:149 – interpretation of the meaning]
But in His Wisdom, Allaahhas created us with the ability to choose,
and He has sent down to us guidance and the Criterion. So whoever
obeys Allaah and His Messenger will enter Paradise and whoever
disobeys Allaah and His Messenger will enter Hell, as Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"Verily, proofs have come to you from your Lord, so whosoever
sees, will do so for (the good of) his ownself, and whosoever blinds
himself, will do so to his own harm, and I (Muhammad) am not a watcher
over you"[al-An'aam 6:104]
The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has no part
in guidance; all thathe and the Muslims have to do is to explain and
convey the message, andshow them guidance butthey cannot force
peopleto follow it, as Allaah said to His Messenger (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) (interpretation of the meaning):
"And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of
them together. So, will you (O Muhammad) then compel mankind, until
they become believers"[Yoonus 10:99]
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message)
plainly"[al-'Ankaboot 29:18]
Guidance to the truth is in the hand of Allaah alone and no human
being has any share in that, as Allaah said to His Messenger (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) (interpretation of the meaning):
"Verily, you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like, but Allaah guides
whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided[al-Qasas
28:56]
Allaah guides whomsoever He wills and sends astray whomsoever He
wills. Hehas told us that He guides those who obey Him and turn to
Him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
"While as for those who accept guidance, He increases their guidance
and bestows on them their piety"[Muhammad 47:17]
But whoever disobeys Allaah and turns away from Him, Allaah will not
guide him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Truly, Allaah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever"
[al-Zumar 39:3]
Allaah is Omniscient and knows what has happened and is happening and
what is yet to come. Allaah knows the believers and the disbelievers,
and what they will do, and He knows what their fate will be in the
Hereafter. He has writtenall that in al-Lawh al-Mahfooz (the Preserved
Tablet), as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And all things We have recorded in a Book"[al-Naba' 78:29]
Allaah has created man with the ability to choose, and He has created
him able to do both, either believer or disbelieve, as He says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or
ungrateful"[al-Insaan 76:3]
Man has the choice in terms of his reason only; if he loses his reason
by which he is able to distinguish between the alternatives of good
andevil, truth and falsehood, then he is not accountable. Hence
according to Islamic sharee'ah, the pen is lifted from the insane
person (i.e., he is not accountable) until he recovers his senses, and
from the child until he reaches the age of understanding, and from the
sleeper until hewakes up. None of these people are accountable until
they gain or recover the reason by which they may distinguish between
the alternatives of faith and disbelief, truth and falsehood, and so
on.
Whatever direction a person takes, there will be reward and
punishment, If he obeys, there will be Paradise:
"Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ownself(i.e. obeys and performs
all that Allaah ordered, by following the true Faith of Islamic
Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds"
[al-Shams 91:9 – interpretation of the meaning]
and if he disobeys, therewill be Hell:
"And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys what
Allaah has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism
or by following polytheism, or by doing every kind of evil wicked
deeds" [al-Shams 91:10 – interpretation of the meaning]
The choice of one of these two ways is something about which a person
will be questioned by the Lord of the Worlds. Hence it isclear that
faith or disbelief, obedience or disobedience, is the matter of
personal choice. Allaah has made reward and punishment dependent upon
this choice:
"Whosoever does righteous good deed, it is for (the benefit of) his
ownself; and whosoever does evil, it is against hisownself. And your
Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves"[Fussilat 41:46]
Whoever loves Allaah and His Messenger and desires good in this world
and in the Hereafter, let him enter Islam, and whoever turns away from
that and is content with this world and has no interest in the
Hereafter and does not submit, then his abode will be Hell. The
individual is theone who will benefit or harm himself. There is no
compulsion to chooseeither. Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):
"Verily, this (Verses of the Qur'aan) is an admonition, so whosoever
wills, let him take a Path to his Lord (Allaah)"
[al-Insaan 76:29]
From Usool al-Deen al-Islami by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem al-Tuwayjri
meanings): "Verily, you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like"
[al-Qasas 28:56] and "And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding

"And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys what
Allaah has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism
or by following polytheism, or by doing every kind of evil wicked
deeds" [al-Shams 91:10 – interpretation of the meaning]

From Usool al-Deen al-Islami by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem al-Tuwayjri
Am I jealous or is he a flirt?
I'm trying to find the answer to this question and it's really hard
for me, believe me!
I truly love my husband with whom we've been married for 8 years, the
first 3 of which we spent living separately in different countries.
Now we are already together. In the beginning everything was perfect
and I even feared sharingthis with others because people say "it's too
good to last".
So, I've noticed recently that when we are in a company with
handsomemen my husband is constantly around me and he is very kind and
affectionate to me. I find this normal and I'm quite pleased with it.
I considerthis the right attitude to a wife. I like showing my
feelings towards him in front of people and I'm very happy when they
notice it. The problem is that when we are in a company with
attractive women he changes abruptly – he stops touching me at all,
even keeps a distance, or if I show in some way or another that he is
my beloved husband he is unpleasantly surprised and stands as if
frozen, while his attitude to the other women is more than friendly.
There have been cases when he has spoken to a woman for about 10-15
minutes and haven't even looked at me meanwhile. (to say nothing of
including me in the conversation!). Sometimes I hesitated on leaving
the place in orderto see if he will notice myabsence. I think this
will probably last at least an hour or until he sees some handsome guy
around.
Whenever he meets a woman he will greet her with a hug, in which I
find nothing bad, but after that he will study her from head to toe
while talking to her. Another issue is that when a woman calls him on
the phone he becomes so enthusiastic that you may think this is the
happiest day in his life. However when I call him he gets so awfully
indifferent. And this happens when I'm tellinghim his favorite team
haswon an important game.
After this description of the situation (not mentioning many other
similar cases and the bad thing is unpleasant memories get more and
more) I'm asking you to help me see if I'm too jealous.
I will appreciate this a lotbecause right now I'm onthe verge of a divorce.

True Love truned into nightmare
Hi, my name is James and my wife name is Angel. We have been together
now for 5 years. Let me start with my background before I met my wife.
Like all men, I too was enjoying my life to the fullest. I had lot of
friends; went on a weekend outing, drinks, party and so on. I am a
Christian and she is a Hindu and I had a lot of opposition from my
parents and families. Even my friends advised me to stop seeing her
and start new considering the consequences. But I was so much in love
with her that I thought it is worth to live with her for 2 minutes and
die rather than living without her for rest of the life. I somehow
convinced my parents and families risking my father's life. Due to all
this chaos he had a major cardiac arrest and underwent bypass surgery.
My mom'sblood pressure shoot to 190 and she bled from nose. Doctor
said that shewas lucky to live because with such high BP she could
have had a cardiac arrest and would have never recovered. Well, I
faced all these problems but still was firm to my parents that she is
the one. I started losing interest in everything; started coming home
drinking a lot, met with an accident and was just seconds away from
death. My parents looking at my ordeal approved our wedding and we got
married.
I could have married Angel without my parent's consent, but my parents
have done so much for me that I want their blessing in my wedding. We
got married and everything was going fine for 5 to 6 months and then
problems started. Considering that I am now a married person and have
a lot of responsibilities I started concentrating in my work. I
distanced myself with all of my friends, started working for 16hrsa
day (so that I can have overtime), and even started working on
weekends. All my hard work paid off, I was promoted as an Asst.
Manager and had a salaryhike of 75%.
The problem is my wife issuspicious on me for everything; she checks
my mobile call log, messages and even my purse. She does not let me go
out even for a minute, she keeps on calling me all day checking where
I am, what I am doing, with who I am. She checks my mobile for unknown
numbers and calls them back from her mobile to see if that is a male
or a female. If it is a female, she creates such a ruckus that I feel
like I am becoming a murderer with all the negative thoughts (can't
explain it here). Well, being a manager I have a lot of
responsibilities and get calls all day long. I really don't know what
to do; I love her more than anything but her behaviour has made to
think again. I have sacrificed my life so muchfor her and still
sacrifice a lot but she pushes me to the limit.
It is no use talking to her,I have tried so many times to try to talk
it to her and have her understand that her behaviour is not right.
ByGod's grace I have everything now and financially well settled. I am
just thinking if she is really worth all my sacrifices or if I should
move on without her.

How should we choose our friends according to Islam?
We should choose the friend that believes in and abide by our
religion(Islam) and gives great respect to what Allah (SWT) and
Prophet Muhammad (saw) had ordered us. And we should stay away from
the one who is not well mannered and gives no attention to what Islam
isabout or what pleases or displeases Allah (SWT), for he will surely
affect usnegatively. There is no good if the companion drowns us in
sins and displeasing Allah (SWT). The bases for the actions of those
who follow the evil ways are corrupt; their actions are built upon
misguidance and deviation.
Good friends are those who share with their companions both happiness
and sadness. Ifwe share our feelings with the wrongdoers whose actions
are worthless and based on corruption, then we are following the same
ways and standards as they aredoing, and we will end up being as
corrupt as they are, and then we are in a big trouble, how can we face
Allah's (SWT) dissatisfaction and displeasure? Instead of making
friends with the misguided ones we should befriend the righteous, yet
treat the rest in a gracious and justmanner. Staying at sufficient
distance is necessary; yet treating everybody in a noble andkind
manner is required.
The danger of having corrupt friends isn't confined to the worldly
life. Such friendships produce repentance on the Day of Resurrection,
too!
Allah (SWT) , the Exalted says in the Noble Qur'an:"And (remember) the
daywhen the unjust one shall bite his hands saying: O! Would that I
had taken a way with theMessenger! O woe is me! Would that I had not
taken such a one for a friend! Certainly he led me astray from the
reminder after it had come to me;" (Surah Al-Furqan, 25:27-29)
The two main regrets on the day of judgement are(1) Not following
ProphetMuhammad (saw) on the path of guidance and (2) Befriending a
person who diverted one from the truth.
Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as)has said: "The felicity of this and the
next world lie in two things: firstly, keeping secrets; and secondly,
friendship withthe good. And the miseries of this and the next world
are summed up in two things: firstly, divulging secrets; and secondly,
friendship withwicked persons."
So take heed before the inevitable day of judgement comes and we are
reckoned for our acts.
Allah (SWT), the Exalted says in the Noble Qur'an:"Friends on that Day
will be enemies one to another, except al-Muttaqun (i.e. those who
have Taqwa/Piety)."(Surah Az-Zukhruf, 43:67)
It is wise to choose moderation in dealing with friends. Excessive
love and confidence in friends are unacceptable since it happens that
a friend may change into an enemy and use the secrets that he had
shown as weapons.
Allah (SWT), the Exalted says in the Noble Qur'an:"And cooperate in
righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
(Surah Al-Maeda, 5:2)
Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as)said: "When you cherish someone you should
cherish him moderately for he may be your enemy someday, and when you
hate someone you should hate him moderately for he may be your friend
someday."Also said: "If you intend to cut yourself off from a friend,
leave some scope for him from your side bywhich he may resume
friendship if it so occurs to him some day."
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) said: "The secrets that you must show before
your friends are only those through which your enemies cannot harm
you, for a friend may change into an enemy."
