*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

General Articles, - The importance of intending to good works everyday

A person of faith orders his whole life according to the Qur'an, and strives to apply carefully from day to day what he has read and learned in its verses. In everything he does from the moment he gets up in the morning until the time he falls asleep at night, he is intent on thinking, speaking and acting according to the teachings of the Qur'an. Allah shows us in the Qur'an that this dedication dominates the whole life of a believer.
Say: "My prayer and my rites, my living and my dying, are for Allah alone, the Lord of all the worlds."
(Surat al-An'am: 162)
From the moment a Muslim has faith, he has already made the decision to spend every moment of his life to earn Allah’s good pleasure. From that moment on, he displays a great spiritual zeal and effort in the material and spiritual sense. However, as an inherent inclination, a Muslim never feels his faith to be at a sufficient level, for until his last breath he has the opportunity to deepen his faith at every moment of his life. For this reason every day, every hour, every moment, he must once again make the intention in his heart to deepen his faith, refresh it and be committed to spending every moment of his life in engaging in good deeds deserving Allah’s consent.
The Believer Must Renew His Intention Every Day
At this very moment, as we are reading this article, we can accordingly renew our intention. From this very moment, we can intend to spend our time, use our opportunities, and put our spiritual and physical power into use in a much more conscious, attentive and sincere manner. We can assess every opportunity of fulfilling any act of worship with great zeal. We can observe every opportunity by which we can earn Allah’s good pleasure and race towards the good deeds. Without thinking, “I have already made auspicious deeds, this is sufficient for today,” or “Compared to others around me I make much greater effort, and in any event, I am better than them”, we can make progress in order to gain Allah’s good pleasure.
What is mentioned here is a very different and distinctive state of mind. No doubt a Muslim spends his every moment in compliance with the morality of the Qur’an. However the demeanor of a person who makes a conscious and decisive decision on this subject is very much different, for the conscience of a person with such an intent is very sensitive. He is keenly interested in what is happening around him. He is more vigilant towards arduous works than anyone else. He is the one that speaks the best words. He is more kind, conciliatory and positive than everyone else. He is full of love and compassion. He notices the needs of people before anyone else and meets them. He always employs an appeasing and peaceful style. He has a very different, positive mood that everyone notices right away.
Believers Intend to Live by the Moral Values Revealed by Allah in the Qur’an in the Finest Manner, 24 Hours a Day
No matter what the conditions, believers will not compromise in showing superior behavior. Their values do not change; they always conform to Allah's commands and recommendations. They take Allah's Messenger Prophet Muhammad , may Allah bless him and grant him peace, (saas) as their example whom Allah praises in the Qur'an in these words:
Indeed you are truly vast in character (Surat al-Qalam: 4)
There is only one way to escape being lost in the endless punishment of the Fire: living according to the Qur'an and the Sunnah, for by means of these Allah grants to human beings "their glory". It saves people from the ignorance in which they are sunk, their primitive way of thinking, stressful environments, negative character traits, baseless fears, perverse beliefs, and the torments of the Fire for which all these things are the causes. In place of these they gain understanding and wisdom, higher values, a sane environment filled with peace of mind and, most importantly, life in the Garden filled with endless blessings.
There is only one way to remove all the anxiety, battles, wars, hostility, poverty, destitution and anger that fills the world: living according to the teachings of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace (saas). There is no other way for a person to obtain the happiness, well-being, justice, love and peace that he desires.
Living according to the Qur'an and the Sunnah as a defense against injustice, conflict, inequality, envy, war, unfairness, waste, fear, bigotry, cruelty, violence, immorality and other such things is the most basic solution for human beings in order for them to live at ease, in peace, in happiness and justice.
Despite this, and because they have turned their backs on the morality of true religion for the sake of small gains, worldly profit and human weakness, some people inflict great harm on themselves. For a human being to turn his back on the morality of the Qur'an and Sunnah means that he will remain unaware of truths that are vital for him to know. However, the resources that he and transitory human beings like him have collected will not be enough to survive in the situations and problems that they encounter in the world. People like him will spend their whole lives in anxiety, worry, stress, fear and adversity, with no solution to their problems. And later, they will come to accept this situationas normal and will spend the rest of their lives deceived, thinking that their suffering is a "fact of life" when it is actually a punishment for not living by the tenets of religious morality.
Believers who follow the values set by Allah in the Qur'an and make them prevail over every moment of their lives will live in the best way. Allah announces good tidings to these believers in the following words:
It is not your wealth or your children that will bring you near to Us, only in the case of people who believe and act rightly; such people will have a double recompense for what they did. They will be safe from all harm in the High Halls of Paradise. (Surah Saba': 37)
The believer experiences the positive effects of “once again renewing his intention” every day. The goal of a believer who assumes this morality is to be among the “the most beloved servants of Allah.” For this reason, once he fully adopts this morality, he once again intends to be more sincere, more sensitive towards Allah’s good pleasure, and more scrupulous; this deepens his morality even more. This continues until the end of his life; he never finds his efforts and auspicious deeds to be sufficient. Consequently his faith, morality, personality and attitudes progress continuously and ultimately attains perfection.
In the Qur’an Allah informs us about the character of Muslims with such traits as follows:
Such people are truly racing towards good things, and they are the first to reach them. (Surat al-Muminun, 61)
By Allah's will, living according to the teaching of the Qur'an and the Sunnah will enable people to develop a broad means of understanding, superior intelligence, the ability to distinguish right from wrong and the ability to consider a matter in depth. These characteristics will ensure that the person who possesses them will live every moment of his life in the ease that comes from these advantages. A person who lives his life in submission to Allah and according to the religious teachings will be totally different from other people in how he behaves, sits and walks, in his point of view and how he explains and interprets things, and in the solutions he finds for the problems that confront him.

General Articles, - The Huffington Post Writer Nidhal Guessoum's ErrorsConcerning Evolution

On 4 January, 2012, the U.S. news portal The Huffington Post carried an article titled “Does Islam forbid even studying evolution?” Written by Nidhal Guessoum, professor of physics and astronomy at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, the piece dealt with a recent report widely covered in the international media regarding the unwillingness of Muslim students in Great Britain to study evolution.
In the article, Guessoum appears to make a number of errors that in no way actually reflect the truth. The author’s errors can be listed as follows:
1. Guessoum claims that evolution is not denied in the Qur’an and espouses the error that Allah created the universe by way of evolution.
This is a very serious error that some other Muslims are also falling into. The Qur’an contains no information regarding or references to creation by evolution. To put it another way, not a single verse of the Qur’an supports the idea of living things having developed from one another and of there being an evolutionary link between them. On the contrary, it is revealed in the Qur’an that Allah created life and the universe in a single moment, in a miraculous manner, by telling them to “Be!” Allah is He Who created from nothing, in a manner and at a time of His choosing, using no previous models.
Almighty Allah has no need of any instruments, natural causes or stages in order to create – surely He is beyond that. This world is a place of testing, for which reason Allah has created everything in the universe in line with natural laws. But this does not mean that our Almighty Lord Himself needs these natural laws (surely Allah is beyond that). Our Almighty Lord is He Who needs nothing and is unfettered by any deficiencies.
The truth revealed in the Qur’an about the creation of the universe and life is that Allah simply willed and created the earth and heavens and all that lies between. Creation is a most easy matter for Allah. It is revealed in several verses of the Qur’an that creation takes place by Allah issuing the command “Be!” Some of these verses read as follows:
… Allah creates whatever He wills. When He decides on something, He just says to it, “Be!” and it is . (Surah Al ‘Imran, 47)
Our Word to a thing when We desire it is just to say to it “Be!” and it is . (Surat an-Nahl, 40)
It is He Who gives life and causes to die. When He decides on something, He just says to it, “Be!” and it is . (Surah Ghafir, 68)
The Muslim writer Nidhal Guessoum has clearly fallen into a serious error. In suggesting that creation took place by way of evolution Prof. Guessoum is clearly ignoring these verses. The fact is that the fundamental guides for anyone who believes in Allah and Islam are the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas). It is indisputably incompatible with the Qur’an to ignore the verses and maintain that Allah created by way of evolution when He reveals in the Qur’an that creation takes place by His issuing the command “Be!” A Muslim fears to commit such an offense against Allah and carefully avoids falling into any such error. It is to be hoped that Prof. Guessoum will grasp the fact of creation that Allah makes so clear in many verses and will abandon his error as a matter of urgency.
2. Another of the writer’s errors is that he interprets the creation of man from clay to mean that “man evolved from clay.”
This is also very definitely a major error. The fact that man was created from clay is no evidence or suggestion that he was created as the result of evolutionary stages. Verses that speak of creation from clay reveal, not that man evolved from clay, but that the tool employed in his creation shares the same basic elements as clay.
Examination of human tissue reveals the presence of a great many elements that exist on earth. Living tissues are 95% made up of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S), and there are a total of 26 elements in living tissues. The Arabic word “sulala” in the verse “ We created man from an extract of clay ” (Surat al-Mu’minun, 12), translated as “extract,” means “exemplary piece, the essence, fundamental or basic.” As we have seen, modern science confirms the reality set out in the Qur’an 1400 years ago by revealing that man was made from clay, consisting of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur.
The distribution of elements in the body of an average, 70-kg human being
3. Another error the author makes is to claim that there is no account in the Qur’an about how the earth came into being.
It first needs to be made quite clear that the Qur’an is a true scripture sent down by Allah from His Presence as an explanation of all things. This essential characteristic of the Qur’an is set out as follows in verses:
... We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl, 89)
... We have not omitted anything from the Book … (Surat al-An’am, 38)
It is a fact known to anyone even with an average level of general culture that Allah reveals in the Qur’an a great many scientific and mathematical miracles and that such information is in complete agreement with the findings of modern science. Allah refers to the creation of the universe and living things in many verses of the Qur’an. Anyone who scans the Qur’an even briefly will immediately see these verses about creation. To say that, “the Qur’an contains no information on these subjects” when many of its verses refer to the creation of life and the universe is a violation of both reason and of good conscience.
On the other hand, it is most interesting how from the very outset the writer depicts the reference to “creation from clay” in the Qur’an as evidence of evolution. To put it another way, he tries to fabricate his own evidence for evolution from the Qur’an, while in another paragraph he says it is a mistake to make any scientific statement on the basis of the Qur’an. This shows that the author is contradicting himself here.
4. The author falls into the error of equating denial of evolution with a rejection of modernity and claims that the Islamic world has failed to attain modernity because of its rejection of evolution.
Modernity in the true sense can only be achieved through faith in Allah and living the kind of life He desires. Had our Prophet Muhammad (saas), the blessed Companions, all the other prophets from the past and all the believers who followed them been living today they would be the most modern people in the world. If the Muslim world is not living in a modern manner today, it is not because of their rejection of evolution, but because they live far removed from Allah and Islam. If they were to submit themselves to Allah and obey His commandments to the letter, then Allah would increase His blessings on the Muslim world and produce a glorious plenty and abundance, and would give them great power and ability in scholarship, technology, art and science. Under the leadership of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), Allah will increase these blessings still further, insha’Allah.
Yet despite this manifest truth, some Muslims admire the Western life far removed from Allah and religion and fall into the error of equating irreligion with modernity. They foolishly imagine that in order to be modern they need to develop a materialist mindset and ignorantly seek to prove themselves to sections of society that live irreligious lives by making concessions on matters of faith.
Such Muslims persist with that same defeatist behavior when it comes to evolutionists. The fact is, however, that it is not believers who should be defeatist, but evolutionists, who lack any scientific foundation or evidence with which to defend themselves. Evolutionists strive to keep their theory, to which they are devoted for purely ideological reasons, propped up by engaging in demagoguery and using psychological pressure to silence those opposed to them. That it because they are well aware of the impasses of the theory they espouse. It is for these reasons that they have for years been trying to cover those impasses up with scientific frauds. But the truth is now out, and falsehood has collapsed. People have seen that the theory of evolution is groundless and has been completely defeated in the face of scientific progress. The fact of the matter is that evolution is a theory that has collapsed, and the falsity of which anyone with even a primary school level of education can clearly see. (See: www.confessionsofevol utionists.com)
5. Another error made by the author regards the works published across the world by Mr. Adnan Oktar under the pen-name of Harun Yahya.
Everyone agrees that the works by Mr. Adnan Oktar on the subject of the damage done by Darwinism and the collapse of the theory of evolution in the face of modern science have had a huge positive impact. Tens of articles about Mr. Oktar’s success have been published in world-renowned scientific journals. Prof. Guessoum himself actually referred to the effect of Mr. Oktar’s campaign against evolution, albeit expressing his own opposition to it, in these words:
“... there are also strongly creationist positions in today's Muslim culture, the clearest and strongest one being expressed by Harun Yahya and his group, who for the past decade or more have launched an aggressive campaign targeting Muslims throughout the world, including the UK and France, where lecture tours are organized and books (such as the infamous Atlas of Creation) are massively distributed either freely or in subsidized sales.”
The works of Mr. Oktar, which have attracted enormous global appreciation, are instrumental in many people coming to faith and many others growing in it.

General Articles, - The glorious world of electrons

Atoms, too small to be seen with the naked eye, are made up of a nucleus and ELECTRONS revolving around that nucleus.
Since the proton constituting the nucleus is positively charged and the neutron is uncharged, the nucleus itself is always POSITIVELY CHARGED. The electrons that revolve around the nucleus one million times per second ARE ALWAYS NEGATIVELY CHARGED.
One of the most important characteristics that makes atoms so magnificent is the endless revolution of the electrons.
The electrons in the atom, that never cease to exist since the moment of their creation, CONTINUE TO REVOLVE UNINTERRUPTEDLY AT THE SAME SPEED , no matter how much time passes or what substance they are a part of.
Every atom has a different number of electrons. For example, there is just one electron in a hydrogen atom, two in a helium atom and 92 in a uranium atom.
These electrons revolve in seven separate orbits. In heavy atoms, some 100 electrons are distributed among these seven orbits. Scores of electrons revolve at an extraordinary speed in the same orbit, or even cross between orbits. YET THEY NEVER COLLIDE.
This is one of the most amazing aspects of electrons. Not one of the hundred or so electrons in seven different orbits, revolving a million times a second, ever collides with another, goes off course or slows down. Each maintains its glorious movement on its own path, in a stunning harmony, and has done so since the creation of the universe.
There is another amazing point here. In order for electrons to have different orbits they should have different masses, just like the planets. But all electrons HAVE THE SAME MASS AND SIZE . It is as yet unknown why the energy levels of these identical particles are different and why they travel in different orbits.
Electrons assume their places in their orbits with a special command and change places when necessary in the same way. They are specially protected, and thus never collide because they are under the sole control of Almighty Allah, Who created and watches over them at every moment.
Every atom created over the last 15 billion years maintains that same wondrous order.
For 15 billion years, not a single electron has followed the wrong orbit, changed speed or collided with another electron because every electron is within the knowledge of our Lord and acts by His command. That is why, in terms of knowledge and creation, everything from giant galaxies to the invisible world inside the atom are all one and the same. They all came into being by our Lord Allah commanding them to “Be!”
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed satan:
Our Word to a thing when We desire it is just to say to it “Be!” and it is. (Surat an-Nahl, 40)
