*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

General Articles, - Plants with interesting qualities

Compared to animals, plants may be seen as silent and motionless beings. However, this silence should not be thought of as a deficiency of biological functions. Plants are capable of very surprising behaviors, take special precautions to maintain their lives and have a variety of methods to continue their lineage by the special abilities bestowed on them by Allah.
Interesting Plants Created With Special Precautions to Adapt to Their Environment
The Most Resistant Plant in the World: Welwitschia Mirabilis
This plant that dwells in desert environments in Namibia is created with qualities very adaptive to conditions of drought. The stem of this plant, which consists of two leaves, a strong stem and a root, both gets longer and wider and reaches a height of two meters and a width of eight meters. This plant, which draws even the slightest moisture inside it through this stem, can live for five years with no rain.
A Reviving Plant : Elaginella lepidophylla
The Selaginella lepidophylla also known as “Erica’s rose” is also a desert plant. The interesting thing about this plant is that it can live with almost no water. This plant completely dries during times of drought and turns into a ball by tucking in its branches and leaves. However, when rains begin, it revives again by opening its branches and leaves and starts all of its vital functions again.
Plant That Looks Like a Baseball: Euphorbia obese
Even though the orb shape of this cactus species known as "euphorbia obese" makes it look like a baseball it is known for having the least amount of surface area, and it stores the greatest amount of water. The plant decreases water loss to a minimum and adapts to desert conditions with its thick trunk and orb-like shape. The poisonous juice of the plant is an effective substance that protects it from other beings.
This plant, which is shaped with a tiny deep greened hunch and decorated with eight tubes, is green like many other species of cactus, but it also has a very decorative appearance with its red and purple sections and the small flowers at the top. This plant is one of the best examples of Allah’s name, Al-Muzayyin (The Adorner).
As with all beings on earth, there is no doubt that Allah is the One Who places the necessary information inside the plants discussed here to adapt to their environments, creates all things and knows about all sorts of creation. Allah reveals this truth in one verse:
“Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky and then in the morning the earth is covered in green? Allah is All-Subtle, All-Aware.” (Surat al-Hajj, 63)
Plants That Develop Interesting Methods to Continue Their Lineage
The Biggest Flower of the World: Rafflesia Arnoldii
The flower of this plant, which is created for the climate conditions of rain forests, has a diameter of 90 centimeters and a weight of between seven to eleven kilograms. This biggest flower of the world draws insects to itself with the scent it secretes for the three to seven days that it stays alive. This plant, which blossoms only once in nine months, draws almost every insect to itself, spreads its pollens and continues its lineage in this way.
A Plant That Smells Like Ammonia: Amorphophallus Titanum
Amorphophallus titanum, which is taller than a man, is named as “titan arum” (carrion flower). Even though this plant, which has the tallest flower in the world, appears very elegant, it begins to spread a sharp smelling ammonia gas (NH3). The last structure of the plant is as interesting as the smell it spreads. The section, where the pollens are, is at the bottom of the leafy structure and it cannot be seen from outside. Therefore, spreading smells is not enough to attract insects’ attention. When pollens are ready to be fertilized, the flower warms the outer part of the flower with its smell. So the warming and smell, which takes place only during the morning times and within a day, is very attractive for insects. Scientists, who try to find an answer to the question of how this heat and smell appears, found that as a result of the acceleration in the plant’s metabolism, a special acid came into being. This substance called “glutanamic acid” is broken down chemically and spreads heat and odors. Thanks to this, insects come to the flower. However, this is not enough for insects. Because the pollen dust of amoorphophallus titanium is inside specialized sacs closed at the bottom, the flower is prepared for this. Due to its greased outer surface, insects fall into the flower and cannot climb up from the slippery walls. There is a sweet fluid produced by the flower’s female organs in this section. In addition, the pollen sacs open up at night, and the insects within are covered with these. Insects stay inside the flower all night long. In the morning, the thorns on the flower grow and act like a staircase for insects to climb up. Insects that climb up the staircase enter into another flower together with their pollen stock in order to accomplish their tasks as long as they are free.
As it is seen in these examples, Allah shows us His unique artistry in everything He creates and wants us to think about these things. This is told in many verses of the Qur’an:
“ In the earth there are diverse regions side by side and gardens of grapes and cultivated fields, and palm-trees sharing one root and others with individual roots, all watered with the same water. And We make some things better to eat than others. There are Signs in that for people who use their intellect.”(Surat ar-Ra‘d, 4)
Plants That Visibly Move Really Fast
Mimosa púdica
Mimosa pudica (pudica means "shy") has many different qualities from other plants. When it is touched or swung, the leaves unite and close. So the plant becomes “shy”, as it were. In one or two minutes, they re-open. The reason of the quick movement of this plant, which is common in South America and Central America, is its defense system. When the leaves of this plant are touched, leaves lean against the body together with the stem within a couple of seconds. If the disturbance on the plant continues, this time the mimosa makes a second move downwards and reveals the sharp thorns on its body. This is enough to scare off insects or predators. The mechanism that makes this movement begins with electrical currents. This current is just like the current that passes through the nervous system of the human body, though the reactions of the plant are not as fast as ours. Also, electrical signals transmitted through channels that carry the plant’s fluid travel a distance of 30 centimeters in one or two seconds. The higher the temperature, the faster the reaction is. The bottom of the leaf is swollen (where it is united with the plant’s stem). The cells here are filled with water. When the message reaches here, the bottom half of the swell in the leaf’s bottom suddenly lets go of its water and at the same time, the upper half takes this water inside and the leaf falls down. So as the message goes along the stems, the leaves close one after the other like dominoes. Following such a defensive movement, 20 minutes need to pass for the plant to re-fill its cells and open its leaves.
Plant Dancing With Sunlight: Desmodium gyransans
This plant known as the telegraph plant is one of the plant species that have sudden movement ability. The plant’s small lateral leaflets begin to pivot and make irregular movements under the slightest contact, sunlight, heat or vibration. During the night, its leaves flag down. The plant, the movements of which look like the Morse code system, and which take its name from these movements, moves with the swelling and shrinkage of motor cells in special organs buried deep inside the leaves. The movement of water molecules causes this swelling and shrinkage of the motor cells in the leaves. And plant leaves make a twitching movement when water enters in and goes out.
As it is seen, moving plants continue their existence with special systems created by Allah, as do all things that move. So they are under His control:
“ Everything in the heavens and everything in the earth belongs to Him. Allah is the Rich Beyond Need, the Praiseworthy. ” (Surat al-Hajj, 64)
Plants That Attract Attention With Interesting Shapes and Long Lives
Baobab Tree: Papaw
This tree, which resembles a bottle with its body that is wide at the bottom and narrow at the tops and which lives in Madagascar, can in many ways be compared to a bottle with the 300 liters of water it stores. This plant, which is resistant to both heat and drought, can live as long as 500 years.
Dracaena cinnabari
The most interesting quality of this plant, which lives for about 950 years, is their red fluid seeping from the body when it is injured. Another quality that this red fluid has it that it contains iron, just as in human beings and animals.
Allah is the One Who plans every quality these plants possess and Who created these plants as He did everything in the universe. This truth is revealed in the Qur’an:
“ The trees all bow down in prostration.“ (Surat ar-Rahman Suresi, 6)
Plants With Interesting Qualities Are Examples of Allah’s Flawless Creation
Plants are special beings, which show the infinite knowledge, art, mercy and compassion of Allah Who created them with the photosynthesis systems that turn light into food, mechanisms that continuously produce energy and oxygen, cleans nature and balances the ecology as well as aesthetic features such as taste, smell and color.
Only 10,000 species of plants, which have unique systems for many special benefits, were examined up to now and as a result of these studies, it was found that every plant has characteristics that would amaze people.
For those who want to know Allah, witness His attributes, and get closer to Him, it would be very beneficial to look more closely at the miracles of creation in plants and even in a single leaf and thus know that their world is full of miracles. Believers can thus see the miracles Allah creates with the mind and reason Allah gave to them. A person who learns to look with an eye of reason and wisdom, would learn.
A person who learns to look at his surroundings with reason and wisdom will also learn all the systems that make the plant unique as well as the artistry in the plant’s color, shape and smell and closely witness Allah’s superior knowledge and might. Allah reveals His control over and creation of beings in one verse as such:
“ That is Allah, your Lord. There is no god but Him, the Creator of everything. So worship Him. He is responsible for everything. ” (Surat al-An’am, 102)
Plants are very impressive with their interesting shapes and life qualities. They form an exquisite beauty and variety with their interesting flowers, different shapes and the fact that they move in a visible way. These plants are only some of the examples of the perfection and glory in Allah’s Creation. Allah reveals that there are signs in the creation of both man and other beings and of His Existence, as such:
" And in your creation and all the creatures He has spread about there are Signs for people with certainty. " (Surat al-Jathiyya, 4)
Plants, which have special abilities and characteristics since the first moment they were created, take inspiration only from Allah Who created them. He is the One Who gives them food, creates water for the maintenance of their life and grants interesting qualities and different designs to them. There is no doubt that all of these occur with His command to “Be”. For Allah Who creates all worlds, creating unique creatures is of course by His Will:
“It is Allah who created the seven heavens and of the earth the same number, the Command descending down through all of them,so that you might know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah encompasses all things in His knowledge.” (Surat at-Talaq, 12)

General Articles, - How does bacteria communication affect the climate?

Bacteria are a group of living organisms that reproduce fast, compared to plants and animals, and have great importance for balancing the world of living things in terms of their biochemical traits. They can live almost anywhere. Therefore, their population is greater than any other organism. The most important fact of all is that they have important effects on vital matters such as climate due to their dense population.
The bacteria community that affects human life in a number of ways has many amazing characteristics. The communication system they use is one of these. These beings, which use sonar-like systems to see their enemies and food, use “conversation balloons” to communicate with one another. Scientists from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) discovered that the communication among bacteria has a quality that protects the balance of the whole world.
Bacteria Communication That Affect the Earth’s Climate Begins In the Oceans
Small sea plants (phytoplankton) are eaten by zooplankton, which are small sea creatures. These particles are sticky and they form heavier particles by coming together. Bacteria unite over these tiny carbon- rich pieces and move towards the depth together with these pieces. This may seem like a very ordinary situation. However, this small movement has an amazing aspect.
Bacteria, which have no mouth and ears, send forth chemical signals to find out whether there are other neighboring bacteria around them. If there are adequate bacteria neighbors nearby, carbon molecules inside these particles come together to secrete an enzyme that breaks these molecules into smaller particles. The type of carbon inside the particles is the same carbon dioxide is found in the atmosphere, so it is a greenhouse gas, which is a temperature trap. This communication among bacteria is created in a way that this poisonous gas will be released to the depths of the ocean. This system does not exist in shallow depths.
This poisonous gas that can easily mix into the atmosphere from shallow waters is carried to the depths with a planned communication system and thus prevents it from reaching the atmosphere.
In other words, millions of bacteria, which we cannot see with the naked eye work for us devotedly.
It has been known for many years that bacteria have a very important place in the carbon cycle that has such vital importance for life on earth. However, this new discovery proves to us once again that the earth has a perfect creation, which is constantly maintained with very comprehensive, fine and detailed adjustments. Thus all the details in front of us are created in perfect harmony with one another and this balance has not been disrupted for millions of years. Allah revealed in the Qur’an as follows:
“ In the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and day, and the ships which sail the seas to people’s benefit, and the water which Allah sends down from the sky – by which He brings the earth to life when it was dead and scatters about in it creatures of every kind – and the varying direction of the winds, and the clouds subservient between heaven and earth, there are Signs for people who use their intellect. ” (Surat al-Baqara, 164)
Allah’s Order is Flawless
- Even if you fulfill all the conditions necessary for life on earth artificially;
- Even if you can imitate the earth, from the atmosphere to the number of bugs in the ecosystem, all living species, orbiter and the sun with all of its properties;
- Even if you put an equal number of plankton, diatoms and bacteria as the ones on earth inside this artificial environment, the end this artificial world will face is inevitable.
Even if there were an equal number of bacteria, when there is no communication among those bacteria, then the artificial environment you have produced would turn into a deadly gas chamber instead of a planet full of life. All life would be destroyed in a very short time by suffocating in this poisonous carbon gas.
When any of the balances on our earth are changed, this scenario would always be the same. However, we can talk about life on earth, only by virtue of having all of these balances and fine calculations at the same time.
Breathing, being able to eat, drink, run and walk now is a proof that not even one of these millions of balances has ever been disrupted even for a single moment and continues unceasingly.
All of these qualities point to a perfect creation. The complex system mentioned above is only a few of the evidences of Almighty Allah’s infinite might and superior creation. In one verse, our Lord’s knowledge and might is revealed as such:
" Say: ‘Travel about the earth and see how He brought creation out of nothing. Then later Allah will bring about the next existence. Allah has power over all things. " (Surat al-‘Ankabut, 20)
Allah’s Knowledge of Creation Manifests at Every Spot of the Universe
There are evidences as to Almighty Allah’s superior creation at every corner of the universe. This complex system in bacteria that we cannot see with the naked eye is one of the most crucial examples of this. Our Lord manifests in these micro beings and inspires to them the ability to act with a superior consciousness and perfect intelligence. A bacterium is able to detect developments, which people cannot realize or even guess beforehand, by the inspiration of Almighty Allah and acts more daringly. It is not possible to explain such flawless details in living beings as a matter of coincidence as evolutionists claim. This is because it is impossible to explain that “the first bacterium” formed coincidentally.
It is a very far-fetched approach to claim that when there was no sign of life, a bacterium was affected by the conditions in an uncontrolled environment, began to breathe suddenly, went through certain changes coincidentally and gained its miraculous features and current complex qualities.
Science and technology, which advance more with every passing day, discovered the miraculous qualities of bacteria and proves how enormous a lie the theory of evolution is. Every quality we face in these beings proves how perfect the art of Allah is in beings that cannot be seen with the naked eye and makes us think about these.
Allah ,Who is the Owner of the skies and earth, created the sky, the earth and everything in between perfectly with a unique creation; inspired every being to its duty and made His miracles a verse and mercy for believers. Our Lord’s flawless knowledge of creation is revealed in the verses as such:
“ He who created the seven heavens in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the All-Merciful. Look again – do you see any gaps? Then look again and again. Your sight will return to you dazzled and exhausted! ” (Surat al-Mulk, 3-4)
All Behavior of Bacteria Is Controlled by Our Lord
What bacteria want is to maintain their existence with the means they possess. While these microscopic beings continue their lineage with this perfect balance Allah created, they also have vital importance for us “in many ways”. A bacteria producing nutrients, moreover making the nutrient it produced beneficial for man, imprisoning poisonous gases, and causing various cycles show how essential and flawless this balance is. There is no doubt that bacteria could just as easily live inside our food, take its energy from there and greatly harm us . We may not even be aware of these bacteria, which are part of our life, throughout our lives. However, Allah created very flawless and detailed systems for us to see the evidence of His superior and unique intelligence. This is the purpose of the benefit bacteria provides.
No doubt, we cannot accept that a unicellular being can act with consciousness and rationale. Allah is the One Who inspires bacteria to act consciously and make calculations, Who has knowledge over all knowledge and Who has the most superior intelligence over all else. In one verse, it is revealed as such:
“ In the alternation of night and day and what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth there are Signs for people who have faith. ” (Surah Yunus, 6)

Fiqh, - Fornication and Adultery:Major Sins in Islam

Chastity is defined as "controlling oneself from forbidden desires due
to the love of Allaah The Almighty in response to His command, as well
as for seeking His reward in return."
Islam has always been keen to establish chastity in the Muslim
community and has thus legislated many laws that reduce the strong
impact of these desires and control them; it has also encouraged
remaining on the straight path and warned against transgressing the
defined boundaries by following these base desires.
Islam has preserved people's honor and protected lineages from being
mixed. Therefore, fornication and adultery are forbidden and
classified as major and destructive sins. Islam has even forbidden
everything that could lead to these sins, such as immoral exchange of
looks between the two sexes, depraved words, seductive moves, a man
and a woman being in seclusion in a room, and anything else which
could lead to this awful sin. Allaah The Almighty Says )what
means(:}"And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a great sin,
and an evil way )that leads one to Hell unless Allaah forgives
him(."{]Quran, 17: 32[
Islam does not have laws which contradict one another as is the case
with man-made legislation which has set penal laws for adultery and
fornication but has facilitated every means that lead to it. Moreover,
there are some societies that see no harm in allowing fornication and
adultery and have set no penal laws for those who commit them. Other
societies differentiate between committing this act in the marital
home and outside of it; they only consider committing it the marital
home as a crime and not if it is committed away from it! Islam, on the
other hand, comprehensively forbids fornication and adultery and
everything that leads to it.
Allaah The Almighty commanded His Messengerto take a pledge from women
who entered Islam to refrain from fornication and adultery. Allaah The
Almighty Says )what means(:}"O Prophet! When believing women come to
you to give you the Bai`ah )pledge(, that they will not associate
anything in worship with Allaah, that they will not steal, that they
will not commit illegal sexual intercourse, that they will not kill
their children… then accept their pledge."{]Quran, 60: 12[
Allaah The Almighty made the punishment for these sins vary from
lashing to stoning to death, along with the humiliation which results
from informing the community of the perpetrators of this sin. Allaah
The Almighty Says )what means(:}"The fornicatress and the fornicator,
flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in
their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allaah, if you believe in
Allaah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness
their punishment. ]This is for unmarried persons, but if married, the
punishment is to stone them to death[."{]Quran, 24: 2[
The Prophetset the penalty for adultery and fornication as follows:"If
the parties )committing fornication( are unmarried, they should
receive a hundred lashes and be put into exile for a year. If they
commit adultery after they are married, they should receive a hundred
lashes and then be stoned to death."]Muslim[
Since Islam has comprehensively forbidden fornication and adultery, it
has also blocked all ways that lead to it. It does not have laws which
contradict one another as is the case with man-made legislation which
has set penal laws for adultery and fornication but has facilitated
every means that lead to it. Moreover, there are some societies that
see no harm in allowing fornication and adultery and have set no penal
laws for those who commit them. Other societies differentiate between
committing this act in the marital home and outside of it; they only
consider committing it the marital home as a crime and not if it is
committed away from it! Islam, on the other hand, comprehensively
forbids fornication and adultery and everything that leads to it.
The evil consequences of fornication and adultery
Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyimsaid,
"Fornication and adultery combine all evils; weakness in commitment to
the religion, lack of piety, corruption of manhood and the decrease of
praiseworthy jealousy. You will never find an adulterer or fornicator
who is pious, fulfils his promises, is truthful in his speech,
maintains friendship or has jealousy over his wife; he will be
characterised by lies, deception, betrayal, accepting prohibitions and
not being mindful of Allaah." All these characteristics are
consequences of fornication and adultery.
There are also other consequences such as:
• Incurring the wrath of Allaah The Almighty.
• Corruption of one's wife and children.
• Poverty and gloominess of the face, which will be apparent to people.
• Darkness of the heart.
• Becoming insignificant in the eyes of people and in the sight of
Allaah The Almighty.
• Loss of the characteristics of chastity and righteousness and
becoming known as a sinful, betraying adulterer or fornicator.
• Not being classified as a believer in general.
• Being decried as an evil person.

Fiqh, - The ruling of theft in Islam

Theft is Haraam )forbidden( according to the Quran, Sunnah ]sayings of
Prophet Muhammad[ and Ijmaa' )scholarly consensus(. Allaah, the Most
Exalted, has condemned this action and decreed an appropriate
punishment for it. The Hadd ]i.e. the legal punishment prescribed by
the Sharee'ah )Islamic law([ for a thief is to cut off the thief's
hand. Allaah Almighty Says in the Noble Quran )what means(:
"]As for[ the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in
recompense for what they earned ]i.e. committed[ as a deterrent
]punishment[ from Allaah. And Allaah is Exalted in Might and
Wise."]Quran 5:38[
The Prophetsaid:
"The hand )of the thief( should be cut off for )the theft of( a
quarter of a Dinar or more."]Al-Bukhaari[
The Prophetcursed the thief because he is a corrupt element in
society, and if he is left unpunished, his corruption will spread and
infect the body of the Ummah )Muslim community(. Hesaid:
"May Allaah curse the thief who steals an egg and has his hand cut
off, or steals a rope and has his hand cut off."]Al-Bukhaari[
What indicates that this ruling is definitive is the fact that a
Makhzoomi noblewoman )from the tribe of Makhzoom( stole at the time of
the Prophetand Usaamah Ibn Zaydwanted to intercede for her. The
Prophetbecame angry and said:
"Do you intercede concerning one of the Hadd set by Allaah? Those who
came before you were destroyed because if a rich man among them stole,
they would let him off, but if a lowly person stole, they would carry
out the punishment on him. By Allaah, if Faatimah Bint )daughter of(
Muhammad were to steal, I would cut off her hand."]Al-Bukhaari[
This is the ruling of Allaah concerning theft; that the hand should be
cut off from the wrist joint.
Al-Nawawisaid in his commentary on Saheeh Muslim )Hadeeth collection(:
Al-Shaafa'i, Abu Haneefah, Maalik and the majority )of scholars(said:
"The hand should be cut off from the wrist, where the hand meets the
forearm." Al-Qurtubisaid: "All the scholars said: The hand should be
cut off from the wrist, not as some of the innovators do when they cut
off the fingers and leave the thumb."
Because cutting off the hand is a serious matter, it should not be
done for just any case of theft. A combination of conditions must be
fulfilled before the hand of a thief is cut off. These conditions are
as follows:
1- The thing should have been taken by stealth; if it was not taken by
stealth, then the hand should not be cut off, such as when property
has been seized by force in front of other people, because in this
case the owner of the property could have asked for help to stop the
thief.
2- The stolen property should be something of worth, because that
which is of no worth has no sanctity, such as musical instruments,
wine and pigs.
2- The value of the stolen property should be above a certain limit,
which is three Islamic Dirhams or a quarter of an Islamic Dinar, or
their equivalent in other currencies.
3- The stolen property should have been taken from a place where it
had been put away, i.e., a place where people usually put their
property, such as a cupboard, for example.
4- The theft itself has to be proven, either by the testimony of two
qualified witnesses or by the confession of the thief twice.
5- The person from whom the property was stolen has to ask for it
back; if he does not, then )the thief's( hand does not have to be cut
off.
If these conditions are fulfilled, then the hand must be cut off. If
this ruling was applied in the societies which are content with
man-made laws and which have cast aside the Sharee'ah of Allaah and
replaced it with human laws, this would be the most beneficial
treatment for this phenomenon. But the matter is as Allaah Says )what
means(:
"Then is it the judgement of ]the time of[ ignorance they desire? But
who is better than Allaah in judgement for a people who are certain
]in faith[."]Quran 5:50[

Fiqh, - Associating partners withAllaah )Shirk( -Ihttp://aydnajimudeen2.blogspot.com

First: Major Shik
One of the most important things Muslims must know and pay attention
to is the issue of Shirk )Associating partners with Allaah in
worship(, its seriousness and its different types, so that our Tawheed
)belief in the Oneness of Allaah( and our Islam may be complete, and
our faith may be sound.
The word Shirk in Arabic means taking a partner, i.e., regarding
someone as the partner of another. It is used in Arabic when one
wishes to express that he regards two people as equal in status; or
that two people are involved in it.
In terms of Sharee'ha or Islamic terminology, Shirk means ascribing a
partner or rival to Allaah in Lordship )Ruboobiyyah(, worship
)Uloohiyyah( or in His Names and Attributes.
A rival is a peer or counterpart. Hence Allaah forbids setting up
rivals with Him and He condemns those who take them )rivals( as gods
instead of or besides Allaah in many verses of the Quran. Allaah Says
)what means(:"Then do not set up rivals to Allaah )in worship( while
you know )that He Alone has the right to be worshipped(."]Quran 2:222[
And )what means(:"And they set up rivals to Allaah, to mislead
)people( from His path! Say )O Muhammad, to the polytheists(: 'Enjoy
)your brief life(! But certainly, your destination is the
Fire!'"]Quran 14:30[
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alahyi wa sallam said: "Whoever dies
claiming that Allaah has a rival, will enter Hell." ]Al-Bukhaari[
The types of Shirk:
The texts of the Quran and Sunnah )narrations of the Prophets
sallallaahu alahyi wa sallam( indicate that Shirk sometimes puts a
person beyond the pale of Islam and sometimes does not. Hence, the
scholars divided Shirk into two types: major Shirk and minor Shirk.
Following is a brief description of each type:
1 – Major Shirk
This means ascribing to someone other than Allaah something that
belongs only to Allaah, such as Lordship )Ruboobiyyah(, Worship
)Uloohiyyah( and the Divine Names or Attributes )Al-Asmaa'
Was-Sifaat(.
This kind of Shirk may sometimes be outwardly, such as the Shirk of
those who worship idols and graves, or the dead or even living people.
Other times, it may be hidden, such as those who put their trust in
other than Allaah, or the Shirk of the hypocrites. For even though
their )hypocrites'( Shirk puts them beyond the pale of Islam and means
that they will abide forever in Hell, it is a hidden Shirk, because
they make an outward display of Islam and conceal their disbelief and
Shirk, so they are inwardly Polytheists but not outwardly.
Shirk in the form of beliefs, such as:
- The belief that there is someone else who creates, gives life and
death, reigns or controls the affairs of the universe along with
Allaah.
- The belief that there is someone else who must be obeyed absolutely
besides Allaah.
- Associating others with Allaah in love and veneration, by loving a
created being as loving Allaah. This is the kind of Shirk that Allaah
does not forgive, and it is the Shirk about which Allaah Says )what
means(:
"And of mankind are some who take )for worship( others besides Allaah
as rivals. They love them as they love Allaah."]Quran 2:165[
- The belief that there are those who know the Unseen that only Allaah
Knows. This is very common among some of the deviant sects.
- The belief that there is someone who bestows mercy in a manner that
is befitting only for Allaah, so he shows mercy as Allaah does and
forgives sins and overlooks the bad deeds of his 'worshippers'.
Shirk in the form of words:
Such as those who supplicate to someone other than Allaah, or seek his
help or seek refuge with him with regard to matters over which no one
has control except Allaah, whether the person called upon is a
Prophet, a Wali )righteous person(, an angel or a jinn, or some other
created being. This is a kind of major Shirk which puts one beyond the
pale of Islam.
Also, those who make fun of religion or who liken Allaah to His
creation, or say that there is another creator, provider or controller
besides Allaah are included in this type of Shirk. All of these fall
under major Shirk and are grave sins that are not forgiven.
Shirk in the form of actions:
Such as one who sacrifices, prays or prostrates to something other
than Allaah, or who promulgates laws to replace the rulings of Allaah
and makes such laws the reference which people are obliged to refer to
for judgement; or one who supports the disbelievers and helps them
against the believers, and other acts that go against the basic
meaning of faith and put the one who does them beyond the pale of
Islam.

Dought & clear, - Holding two jumu'ahprayersin one place

Can we organize two Friday prayers!? We do not have a mosque until
now inside the campus--we ask you fordoa'a... May Allaah help us to
gain a permanent room. Due to different schedules of the university,
students can not attend Friday Prayer which is scheduled at 1:00 p.m.
Currently new Muslim brothers are asking if we can hold a second
Friday arrangement on campus. Is it correct to host two Friday prayers
in the same campus or same place!?
I personally am afraid [the reality is that it is]madhhabexcuses, and
different groups favour one time to another.I urge you to answer this
question fast
may Allaah reward you.
All Praise be to Allaah.
After discussing the question you raised with the learned sheikh
Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullaah bin Baz, he has indicated that Islamic
shari'ah does not legislate holding two jumu'ah prayers in one place.
You should choose the most convenient time--and its timing extends
until the 'asr prayer--and urge and enjoin all the Muslims to attend.
Note that it is mandatory to stop all work (including attending
classes) for the jumu'ah prayer. Whoever misses it would pray the
dhuhr prayer.
May Allaah grant you all success in obeying Him and pleasing Him and
may He ease your affairs wherever you may be.

Dought & clear, - It is incorrect to prayDhuhr after Jumu’ahprayer

I heard from some imams that under the following situations we have to
pray another 4 rakat Fard zuhur prayer (noon prayer) after the 2 rakat
Juma (Friday) prayer, is it true?
if we are far from Saudi Arabia or
if we are not staying in an Islamic Country or
if we don't have any Islamic leader as our government in the country
Kindly answer my question, since I found that many old people they
follow these in our country, however, I didn't find any Hadith
relating to these things.
May Allah (s.w.t) bless you. Thank you.
Praise be to Allaah.
Praying four rak'ahs after Jumu'ah prayer is the opinion of some
Madhhabs, and has nothing to do with staying in Makkah or far away, or
being in an Islaamic country or not, or whether or not there is a
khaleefah. The existence or permission of a khaleefah is not a
condition for Friday prayers being obligatory or valid, according to
Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jamaa'ah.)Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah, 8/187(
Having dealt with what you have heard from people who have no
knowledge, but who are unfortunately in the position of "imaams," as
you said, we move on to the basic issue of offering salaat al-dhuhr
after salaat al-jumu'ah. Our answer to this question is that the truth
is the opinion of the scholars, most of whom say that there is no
basis in sharee'ah for offering dhuhr prayer after jumu'ah prayer if a
person has prayed jumu'ah. The one who misses jumu'ah or does not
attend it because it is not an obligation for him or her, such as
women, sick people or travellers, must pray dhuhr. It was never
reported that the Prophet)peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him(
or any of his Companions prayed dhuhr after praying jumu'ah. If he had
done so, there would be reports to that effect.
We ask Allaah to give you and us help and strength. May Allaah bless
our Prophet Muhammad.

Dought & clear, - Praying Zuhr in congregation for those who missed Salaat al-Jumu’ah

In the name of Allah, Most Kind Most Merciful
All praise is for Allah, peace and blessings be upon Muhammed (saalahu
alayhi wa sallam)
to proceed :
My question is this :
We hold jummah (Friday) prayer at university. A group of brothers came
late and they missed the prayer. They decided to pray Dhur as the
jummah prayer has been done. The question was do they dhur together in
Jammah (congregation) or do they pray Dhur individually. Please advise
me with proofs.
Jazakallah Khair
Wasalam
Praise be to Allaah.
You should urge the brothers around you to attend Salaat al-Jumu'ah
(Friday prayers) at the right time, because Jumu'ah is of great
importance. The Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
said: "Let people stop neglecting to attend Jumu'ah, or else Allaah
will seal their hearts, then they will be among the
heedless."(Reported by Muslim, 1432)
He(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: "Whoever
neglects Salaat al-Jumu'ah three times with no good reason, Allaah
will put a seal on his heart."(Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 460; he said:
this is a hasan hadeeth).
As for the people who missed Jumu'ah, they should pray Zuhr, and there
is nothing wrong with praying it in jamaa'ah (congregation). And
Allaah knows best.
