*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Believers must not fall into atheist masons' vile traps

The antichrist, described in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) and in
Christianity as appearing in the final age of the world, is at work at
this very moment. According to the hadiths and to some sections of the
Bible, the system of the antichrist will assume dominion over the
whole world and will attract followersby depicting itself as
religious, though it will in fact inflict cruelty and destruction on
the world, and has deceived millions of people with its misleading
external appearance.
This system of the antichrist is atheist Freemasonry. All the
descriptions of atheist Freemasonry and atheistMason's current
influence on the world are in full agreement with the descriptions of
the antichrist in the hadiths and the Bible. One of the main
attributes of the antichrist revealed in thehadiths is that he is a
complete denier, and that despite his being engaged in a struggle
against Allah he has deceived some people by claiming to act in His
name. Atheist Masons, too, employ such concepts, which sound pleasant
to most people, as "human love, tolerance, universal brotherhood and
the path of reason and science" in describing themselves. They go even
further in their rituals of admission, swearing by placing their hands
on the Holy books, thus trying to give the impression of being
religious. The fact is, however, that the most fundamental feature of
atheist Freemasonry is that it is totally opposed to religious moral
values and rests on a foundation of irreligion.
The philosophy known as "humanism" that represents the basis of
atheist Freemasonry expects that people will attach importance to and
love themselves and one another, rather thanAllah. Of course, every
human being is of value as a manifestation of Allah, and from that
point of view will love and value everyone else, but the concept that
superstitious humanist philosophy indoctrinatespeople with as
humanityand love has absolutely nothing to do with true love and
humanity. That is because at the basis ofhumanism lies in a denial of
Allah's manifestexistence. It leads peopleto denial and encourages the
heresy that man is supposedly the creator and a deity. (Surely Allah
is beyond that.) The Social Protocolof the Grand Orient, published by
the TurkishMasonic lodges in 1923, refers to this heretical philosophy
as follows:
"We will no longer recognize Allah asthe purpose of life. We have
created a purpose. That purpose is mankind, not Allah." (Surely Allah
is beyond that.)
The Turkish Masonic journal Mimar Sinan describes Freemasonry's
heretical view of belief in Allah in these terms:
"Therefore, if we examine our temple and if we examine ourselves, we
go to the 'Great Architect of the Universe.' And we see that the Great
Architect of the universe is within ourselves." ( Mimar Sinan , Year
25, No. 27-28, p. 40)
The main reason why atheist Freemasonry pretends tobe religious,
despite being a heretical system that denies Allah, is in order to
deceive people, give the impression of having spiritual aims and
convince people of the lie that it will spread love and tolerance in
society. This method is an exact attribute of the antichrist described
in the hadiths and the Bible.
This property of the antichrist is described in the Bible as follows:
Don't let anyonedeceive you in any way, for (that day will not come)
until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed ,
the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself
over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets
himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God . (2
Thessalonians 2:3-4) (Surely Allah is beyond that.)
This feature of the antichrist, of the present-day atheist Masonic
system in other words, is described in the same way in the hadiths,
wherein it is stated that the antichristwill deify himself (surely
Allah is beyond that) andappear as a false deity:
"When he [the antichrist] says 'I am the Lord of the worlds...'."
(Surely Allah is beyond that.) ( Al-Barzanji, Al-Isha'ah li-ashrat
al-sa'ahSigns , p. 218 )
"He [the antichrist] will say, 'Go now, and tell people that I am
their Lord; tell them of my paradise andhell'... He is your Lord, and
has come to rule among you, and he has paradise and hell..." (Surely
Allah is beyond that.) ( Al-Barzanji, Al-Isha'ah li-ashrat al-sa'ah ,
p. 218)
The system of the antichrist, atheist Freemasonry in other words, that
has assumeddominion over the world in order to deceive and lead people
to destruction, and set believers against one another, makes
misleading suggestions to Christians in order to conceal its true
purpose. It tells Christians the lie that "I am not the antichrist.
The antichrist is Muslims and Jews." This stratagem has paid off in
some places. Atheist Freemasonry has deceived some Christianswith this
technique and has attempted to set believers against one another. The
antichrist has also employed the same technique against Muslims,
deceiving some of them by depicting Christians and Jews as their
enemies.
By seeking to deceive the members of the three faiths, the antichrist
intends to findeasy scope for his activity and to find it easier to
lead people to cruelty and heresy. Indeed, through certain circles
under his influence, it has been carrying out that task formany years.
Atheist Freemasonry employs a deceptive tactic, rather like a burglar
caught red-handed by the police telling them the owner of the house is
actually the thief. As the police turn their attention to the wrong
person, the burglar escapes and continues stealing. That is the vile
ruse that atheist Freemasonry is employing today. By claiming that it
is not theantichrist, it is able to persist in its destructive,
damaging and bloody activities. Moreover, the great mass of people
areunaware of this stratagem, which has spread right across the world.
It is therefore ofgreat importance for this stratagem to be thwarted
at once. As descendants of the Prophet Abraham (peacebe upon him), all
believers must engage ina determined intellectual struggle against
atheist Freemasonry, the worst antichrist of the present age. Whatever
their faith, all sincere believers in the one Allah must unite, thwart
this vile ruse of the antichrist and demolish this ideological system.
The most correct thing to do in this blessed age when we are awaiting
the coming of Hazrat Mahdi and the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon them
both), is to be on our guard against satan's deceptive snares and to
put an end to the oppressive system that atheist Freemasonry has
installed against mankind all over the world. By Allah's leave and as
a requirement of His promise, true believers will attain salvation and
will overcome the antichrist. In one verse of the Qur'an our Lord
reveals:
As for those who make Allah their friend, and His Messenger and those
who believe: it is the party of Allah who are victorious! (Surat
al-Ma'ida, 56)

The place where the system of antichrist - atheistic freemasonry - has settled in to prevent religious obligations is the Solomon's masjid

The organization called "The Knight's Templars", founded in the Middle
Ages in 1119, appeared originally to protect Christians and was
officially recognized by the Catholic Church in 1129. However, it was
dispersed in 1312 again by the Papacy due to theaccusations put
forward and its disputable acts. What has remained of the Knight's
Templars came on the scene with its fierce opposing actions against
the Church and all other divine religions after that date.
The Knight'sTemplars which were known as the Poor Soldiers of the
"Temple of Jesus and Solomon" in Latin, settled in the area of
theSolomon's Masjid and conducted its undercover operations from
there. This organization maintains its existence under the name of
atheistic freemasonry and it is this place that it is carrying on its
deviant activities.
As mentioned before, the antichrist system, that is, the purpose of
atheistic freemasonry is to bring to the entire world the system of
destruction and tyranny, which is distant from thefaith in Allah (God)
and the good moral values. The method the atheist freemasons use in
order to realize this is to be able to prevent the religious
obligations of pious devout people, to try to cause division between
Muslims, Christians and Jews, and to restrain them to live in peace.
IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT THIS UGLY OBJECTIVE, THE ANTICHRIST IS SETTLED
IN THE REGION WHERE THE SOLOMON'S MASJID IS LOCATED.
Now, atheist freemasons prevent the Muslims, Christians and Jews doing
their religious obligations easefully in the Solomon's Masjid. Atheist
freemasons hold this holy region under military and political
dominion. Because of this so-called military and political dominion,
by way of the prohibitions in the Solomon's Masjid — the place of
religious obligations of the three holy religions —, the religious
obligations are restricted in the region. Many people there, willingly
or otherwise, are following the order of the antichrist system, that
is the order of the atheist freemasons . And they are doing what they
say. The antichrist system dominates over the place of the
religiousobligations of the three holy religions. Yet, during the
period of the Prophet Jesus and HazratMahdi (peace be upon them both),
the antichrist system, that is the atheistic freemasonry's opinion
system will be demolished by love, compassion, knowledge, good moral
values and thus the dominion that this system are trying to rule over
the members of the three holy religions will be removed. Thus, the
Golden Age, which is the age of salvation, of abundance and affluence,
of trust and when the real love prevails, will begin.

Atheistic freemasonry, the system of the antichrist (dajjal), deceives people by pretending to be devout

The antichrist, as mentioned in the hadith of our Prophet (may Allah
bless him and granthim peace), will first appear with an identity of a
devout believer. He will claim that he emerges in the name of Allah
and will give the appearance that he has an ethereal objective. But
this lie of the antichrist will be understood with the cruelty he
brings to the world and his rebellion against Allah after deceiving
the majority of the people and prevailing the entire world.
This fact is also stated in the New Testament in the same way. The
antichrist who will appear in the End Times is a diverter pretending
to be devout.
As mentioned before, this system of the antichrist is ATHEISTIC
FREEMASONRY, which is a perverted sect that, in our day, has a world
dominion with its fake devout appearance. In compliance with the
antichrist descriptions inthe hadith and the New Testament, ATHEIST
FREEMASONS have claimed that they have come out in the name of Allah.
Even though they reject the existence of Allah, they swore on the holy
books and claimed that their objective was ethereal. As is also
confessed by atheist freemasons, this fake appearance is a wicked
method employed not toget reactions from people and to better deceive
the societies. Even though atheistic freemasonry is a perverted
religion that takes satan as its deity, the fact that it has appeared
with faith in Allah and that it has deceived people with this
objective is explained in various sources as follows:
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming
themselves into the apostles of Christ. And nomarvel; for Satan
himselfis transformed into an [fake] angel of light. Therefore, it is
no great thing if his ministers alsobe transformed as the [fake]
ministers of righteousness... 1
As it can be understood from the above quotation, despite their open
denial of Allah and putting on a deceiving appearance, atheist
freemasons strive to reveal themselves as ethereal and devout people
like the disciples of Jesus (pbuh). Indeed, atheistic freemasonry is
such a perverted structure that it even tries to reveal satan as an
alleged angel.
King James Version of Masonic Bible on the Altar.
Masons prefer KJV because King James I was Scottish Templar Mason. 2
In 1889, Albert Pike, the founder of the old and the accepted Scottish
Rite and the 33rd degreeatheist freemason, stated that worshipping
Lucifer (satan) can be openly told to senior atheist freemasons
whileit should not be revealedto lower degree freemasons and the
public in general. He further advises his atheist mason brothers to
employ the following method:
That which we must say to the crowd is – We worship God, ... To the
Sovereign Grand Inspectors General [of the 33rd degree], we saythis,
that you may repeatit to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st, and 30th
degrees – The Masonic religion should be, by allof us initiates of the
high degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian Doctrine (the
doctrine ofsatan). 3
Following this stage, most of the European freemasons adopted the
"Luciferian Doctrine" of Albert Pike. The "Luciferian Doctrine" is
defined in the words of Albert Pike as follows:
The Masonic religion should be, by all of us initiates of the high
degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian doctrine. . . Yes,
Lucifer is (satan) god... 4 (Surely Allah is beyond that)
As these confessions reveal, atheistic freemasonry is a perverted sect
that, in compliance with the orders of satan, denies the existence of
Allah, takes satan as a false deity and aims to bring moral
destruction and horror to the entire world. Atheistic freemasonry is
the antichrist system that has brought cruelty to the world and will
continue to do so. Just like atheist freemasons, the fact that
antichrist will appear in the name of Allah and thus lead people
astray is stated inthe New Testament as follows:
Don't let anyone deceiveyou in any way, for (thatday will not come)
until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness isrevealed, the
man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over
everything that is called god or is worshiped, so that he sets himself
up inGod's temple, proclaiming himself to be god. (2 Thessalonians 2:
3-4)
The antichrist's deceiving people by using the name of Allah and in
the name of goodness and faith are also stated in the hadith of our
Prophet (may Allah bless him and granthim peace) as follows:
"First he (the antichrist) will say, "I am prophet"...Second he will
say "I am your Lord" (Ibn Majah, Abu Dawud)
"While Ibn Hajar talks about his deceitfulness "The antichrist first
appears with the claim of faith and goodness, then prophethood, and
then claiming to be theirdeity." (Ibn Hajar Al-Askalani, Fath al-Bari,
13:79)
While atheist freemasons strive to reveal themselves as devout in
order to establish an antichrist system to dominate the world, what
they really name as the "great architect of the universe" and worship
issatan. The sole reason why atheist freemasons strive to drag the
world into destruction, distance people from faith in Allah and stir
conflicts among the devout is their adherence to satan. This is indeed
the most specific portent of the antichrist who is told to appear in
the End Times and drag people into destruction.

Fathwa, - Not all mosque rulings apply to a Musalla

Question
We have a Musalla (area allocated for prayer) at our workplace where
weperform the 'Asr and Thuhr prayers but we do not proclaim the Athaan
for these prayers in the Musalla; is this correct or should we
proclaim the Athaan?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
The preponderant opinion among Muslim scholars is that proclaiming the
Athaan in mosques is a collective obligation on the Muslim community.
A collective and not an individual one which, when it can be properly
carried out by a limited number of individuals, is canceled for the
remaining Muslims. Otherwise they all share the sin for not performing
it.
Since the rulings of the mosque (in cities and villages) in Islam does
notall apply to the Musalla, the Athaan is not obligatory for those
who perform the congregational prayer in the Musalla, yet it is
permissible and recommended. The Athaan is prescribed for Muslims when
prayers are due anywhere, whether in a city or outside it, due to the
general words of the Prophet , directed to Maalik ibn Al-Huwayrith and
his companions: " Whenever prayer time is due, you should pronounce
the Athaan and the Iqaamah and theolder of you should lead the prayer.
" [Al-Bukhaari]
Thus, the Sunnah of the Prophet , is that, whenever an obligatory
prayer is due, someone should proclaim the Athaan. However, the Athaan
does not affect the validity of the prayer, whether it is considered
obligatory or recommended.

Fathwa, - Deliberately leaving recitation of a Surah after Al-Faatihah in prayer

Question
The Imaam in the second Rak'ah of Maghrib prayerdid not recite a Surah
after Al-Faatihah and then he bowed and prostrated normally. After
the third Rak'ah, the Imaam ended his prayer with Tasleem without
performing Sujood as-Sahw. We asked the Imaam to perform Sujood
as-Sahw but he told us that there was no need for it. He informed us
that he deliberately abstained from reciting a Surah after Al-Faatihah
and thatwhat he did was permissible. What is the religious ruling on
not reciting a Surah after Al-Faatihah intentionally in the second
Rak'ah of Maghrib prayer? May Allaah The Exalted Reward you
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
It is disliked for a worshipper to deliberately not recite a Surah
after Al-Faatihah inthe first and second Rak'ah of a prayer. Whoever
does so will be abandoning a Sunnah according to the majorityof Muslim
scholars. The Imaam in such a case should not perform Sujood as-Sahw
since it isprescribed to compensate for a worshipper's forgetfulness
in the prayer.
However, if the worshipper deliberately neglected an obligation or a
pillar of the prayer, his prayer is considered invalid and performing
Sujood as-Sahw does not compensate for such a mistake.
If a worshipper neglects a Sunnah, his prayer is valid despite his
mistake. However, even then, Sujood as-Sahw is not prescribed in such
a case to compensate for such error.

Fathwa, - Voluntary Prayer between the Two Athaans of Jumu‘ah Prayer

Question
Is it permissible to perform voluntary prayerbetween the two
Athaans(i.e. call for prayer) of Jumu'ah prayer, given that it is said
that no voluntary prayer should be performed between the two Athaans
of Jumu'ah ?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
It is permissible to perform voluntary prayers before the Jumu'ah
Prayer, whether they have a specific reason such as the prayerof
Tahiyyat-ul-Masjid (i.e. salutation to the mosque)or other general
voluntary prayers that have no such reason. However, a worshipper
should not perform voluntary prayer before Jumu'ah prayer considering
it as a regular Sunnah with a fixed number of Rak'ahs. Such an act was
not reportedly done by the Prophet .
However, the Hanafi scholars and a group of Shaafi'i and Hanbali
scholars adopted thisopinion. They relied on the narration of Ibn
'Abbaas as he said, " The Prophet , used to perform four Rak'ahs
before Jumu'ah Prayer without separating them at all. " [Ibn Maajah].
This is a very weak narration. Imaam An-Nawawi said, " This weak
narration should not be relied upon as evidence; since it is very weak
. "
Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah elaboratedon this issue in his book,
Al-Fataawa. He said, "The Prophet , did not perform any voluntary
prayer before the Jumu'ah prayer (i.e. after the Athaan) and no one
reported that he did. During the lifetime of theProphet , the Athaan
was not called except after the Prophet , sat on the pulpit. No one
reported that the Prophet , used to perform any voluntary prayer in
his house before going to the mosque for Jumu'ah Prayer. There are no
sayings of the Prophet , about specific voluntaryprayers before the
Jumu'ah prayer. On the other hand, the words of the Prophet , merely
urged the Muslims to perform prayer in the mosque on Friday in general
without any specific timing. For instance, the Prophet , said: "
Whoever goes out early and walks and doesnot ride to the mosque and
prays what has been prescribed [by Allaah] forhim . "
And this is what was reported by the Companions that they used to
perform voluntary prayers as much as is easy for them when entering
the mosque for the Jumu'ah prayer.
Therefore, the majority of Muslim jurists agreed that there is no
fixed Sunnah prayer with a specific number of Rak'ahs before the
Jumu'ah prayer since thiscan only be proven by either the words or
actions of the Prophet . This is the opinion of the Maaliki and
Shaafi'i schools of Fiqh, held by many Shaafi'i scholars, and it is
the famous opinion in Imaam Ahmad 's school of Fiqh. A group of Muslim
scholars believed that there is a voluntary prayer before the Jumu'ah
prayer. Some believed that there is a two-Rak'ah Sunnah prayer before
the Jumu'ah prayer such as a group of Shaafi'i scholarsand Ahmad .
Others believed that there is a four-Rak'ah Sunnah prayer before the
Jumu'ah prayer such as the Hanafi scholars and a group of scholars
from the school of Fiqh ofImaam Ahmad .
Some people cite as proof of the Sunnah prayers before the Jumu'ah
prayer, the Hadeeth of the Prophet , as he said: " Between every two
Athaans (i.e. Athaan and Iqaamah) there is a prayer . "
Other scholars disagreed with this opinion and underlined that during
the lifetime of the Messenger of Allaah , the Athaan was not
calledfrom minarets like it is nowadays. 'Uthmaan ibn 'Affaan
commended Muslims to call the Athaanfrom minarets when the number of
Muslims increased (so that the Athaan would be heard by all people).
In the past, people used to hear the Athaan after the Prophet , would
go to the mosque and sit on the pulpit.
As 'Uthmaan ibn 'Affaan introduced this habit of raising the second
Athaan for the Jumu'ah prayer, it had become common and approved by
Muslim jurists.
In such a case, performing voluntary prayers between the twoAthaans on
Friday is permissible but not as a regular voluntary prayersjust like
performing voluntary prayer before Maghrib.
Therefore, people should not criticize anyone who performs voluntary
prayers before the Jumu'ah prayer or anyone who does not.
This is the opinion that is considered most likely to be true and the
words of Imaam Ahmad support it.
In such a case, it is better not to perform a Sunnah prayer before the
Jumu'ah prayer so that ignorant people would not mistake it for a
regular Sunnah or erroneously think that it is obligatory. One should
not perform this voluntary prayer so that people would not mistake it
for a fixed voluntary prayer or mistakenly think that it isobligatory,
especially if people performed it regularly.

Embracing community diversity

Allaah Almighty Says what means: "O mankind, indeed We have created
you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may
know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of
Allaahis the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allaah is Knowing and
Acquainted.)" [Quran 49: 13]
The Muslim community is one of the most culturally diverse societies
in the world. This especially holds true in America where Muslim
immigrants, from places like the Middle East and Southeast Asia, among
other places, are living their lives as strange bedfellows in a
country that is foreign to them and, mostimportantly, where the
predominately non-Muslim populace is generally mistrustful of Muslims.
It's unfortunate that the flag of Islam is often times not enough to
unite Muslims from varying cultural backgrounds.
The sleepy suburb of Dayton, Ohiois just one city in America where
many Muslims live but very few connect with their Muslim brethren who
mix in the exact same society as them. They cross paths on a regular
basis but know little outside of their own culturally based
sub-communities. "Our community is clearly split into smaller
international communities," shares Soumy Ana,a Muslim teacher residing
in Dayton. "Moroccans meet with Moroccans, Egyptians meet with
Egyptians and Pakistanis stay amongst Pakistanis. Muslims hereare
clearly more comfortable with people from their birth country, who
speak the same language, have the same profession and follow the same
beliefs ."
The cultural divide
Muslims from varying cultures usually look within their own 'mental'
borders when it comes to socializing with others in the community and
making friends. For example, a Pakistani Muslim will feel unity with
one of their fellow compatriots more so than with a Muslim from
another country who may not even speak the same language as they do.
The scenario plays out in communities across the world and is
prevalent in Mosques where even worshippers, in the congregational
prayer, line themselves up according to their birthplaces. As a result
of this cultural division, there is no viable unity in the Ummah,
whichis still an unfulfilled dream in the Islamic faith.
"Understanding oneanother is sometimes hard because of the cultural
differences. Culture and upbringing play a huge part in
communication," says Ana, "For instance, I like to share my feelings
while my Arab neighbor hides a lot of her feelings. She thinks I am
too bold and I get angry when I do not know what is going on from her
side. I noticethat people from the same country tell almost everything
to each other. They tell me little because they do not feel connected
to me while they feel connected to someone else from the same
country."
Building multicultural bridges
With Islam consistently under firefrom the mass media 'microscope',
now more than ever Muslims must unite under the same banner of "La
ilaaha illa Allaah," regardless of race or socioeconomic standing.
Coming together as Muslims is the best way for communities to create a
sense of brotherhood, which will translate into an improved society by
establishing a commonbond and future goals. It starts with you. There
are three ways toembrace the diversity of Muslims in your community
and bring everyone together:
Self discovery — Examining your own thoughts and feelings towards
different cultures of Muslims will go a long way in laying the
groundwork for acceptance and understanding. Do you feel intimidated
or fearful of other cultures? Are you confused by their customs or
national dress? Is a fear of rejection the only thing holding you back
from extending a hand in friendship? These are all questions that you
must ask yourself, first, in order to discoverany preconceived notions
lingering in your mind .
Social awareness — Exploring your community to find out exactly which
cultures make up the fabric of your society is an essential step you
can take to find out more about their backgrounds. Make a list of all
of the cultures represented in your community as well as any social
organizations specifically created for them. Next, use the power of
the Internet to learn more about their customs and traditions .
Inclusion — It's easy to complain that a certain clique of Muslims
isexcluding you from their gatherings for whatever reason. But what's
a bit more difficult is for you to reach out to include Muslims from
various backgrounds into your own social functions. No one ever said
it would be easy and there is always a risk of rejection. However,
unless Muslims put themselves out there 'come whatmay' the cultural
divide between Muslims will never be bridged .
It's not just about bringing people together, but rather it is also
about giving people a sense of worth and social value which will plant
a seed of trust that can be cultivated for years to come. Encourage
your children to followthe same culturally diverse principles in
school or on the playground. " Children should be given the pride of
being Muslim and no pride at all being Malay or Pakistani or Saudi,
etc," summates Ana, "children should be taught by their parents that
they do not have any nationality. Their nationality is Islam. This
way, they will feel connected with all Muslims." - - ▓███▓

Racism: A Sign of Weak Faith

Allaah Almighty Says what means: "You are thebest nation produced [as
an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is
wrong and believe in Allaah. If only the People of the Scripture had
believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are
believers, but most ofthem are defiantly disobedient." [Quran 3:110]
Islam is the best tool for relieving humankind of its ills. When we
look at one another as individualbeings with our diverse capacities
and ideas we should be able to see the beauty of Allaah's handiwork.
But too oftenwe fall into the trap laid by Iblees (Satan) when Allaah
created Aadam. Iblees (Satan) became haughty and arrogant and felt
that he was the best of creation. Allaah Almighty Says what means:
{And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Aadam";
so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and
became of the disbelievers.} [Quran 2: 34] Here Allaah Almighty
mentions that rejection of faith lies in refusal to obey Allaah's
command through haughtiness. Many of us are haughty due to having
pride in our accomplishments, our acquisitions and our positions in
comparison to our fellow human beings. But is this what Allaah placed
us on earth to do?
He, Almighty, tells us in Quran (what means): {…Had Allaah willed, He
would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended]
to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good.
To Allaah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you
concerning that over which you used to differ.} [Quran 5:48]
Obviously, His plan was tomake us different types of people so that we
could realize our diversity and put forth every effort to lead one
another to the Almighty. Being different only obliged us to work as
one people to promote the good and forbid the wrong.
To work as one people striving to Allaah we must overcome our desire
to use our ethnicity or race as a means to divide us. Every race
struggles to hold on to, their inherited identity but in so doing, in
the long run, we may encounter the risk of eliminating an aspect of
our lives that will make us better people .
Poverty syndrome
Poverty separates people. At times we look to display our
accomplishments in waysthat glamorize and tickle the fancy of others.
Everything looks well put together and organized, but when we take an
in-depth look behind the scene, we may have overlooked some critical
factors. Why aren't there more people of color present at the event?
Were they included in the planning stages? Wasevery effort made to get
their input? As an observer of this phenomenon, all too often, I
notice that more times than necessary, poverty is a factor. The fees
to attend many programs are out off the scale for poor Muslims. Also,
location plays a pivotal role in attendance. Every Muslim does not
have a car and many rely on public transportation to get around. And,
in a predominant white America, how does this apply to Muslims? The
reality is that many Muslims of fair complexion are more comfortable
being recognized as Caucasian rather than people of color.
Consciously, our brethrendon't use this as a factor but subconsciously
it is used in the workplace, inthe public sphere and in the most
sacred place for the Muslim, the Mosque. If one grew up in America
during the 50s, 60s and 70s, it was emphasized that the one with the
lighter skin complexion would have abetter chance of being
mainstreamed in with their Caucasian counterpart and therefore
apportioned some of the fruits of that community. The stigma that was
placed on the darkness of ones' skin became synonymous with failure.
This was also taught to people of other countries before they came to
America. The mantra was "stay away from the black Americans".
Unfortunately, people of color tend to be among the poorest around the
world. Their struggle has been documented throughout history. But, the
one theme among this impoverished group has been to strive in the fact
of adversity .
If you can read you can learn and if you can learnyou can succeed. Yet
the opportunities for success do not always be within the reach of
all.
A community that is largely Caucasian has a greater chance of opening
the door to advancement for its residents than a community wherein the
population is primarily African-American. But, it doesn't have to be
that way. If the prosperous community took their ideas into a
seemingly hopeless community as a means to inform them of the
potential for success rather than deride them for their lack of
motivation, working with them and pushing them to see that they too
can thrive, a step toward equality can begin.
Now, let us substitute Muslim for prosperous and look at ourselves to
see how some of us have neglected the less-fortunate in our midst and
we will see where the genuine work of a believer belongs .
Knowledge
"What you don't know can kill you" is a saying attributed to
ignorance. Allaah, the Almighty, tells us in the Quran (what means):
{And [mention O Mohammad] when your Lord said to the angels,"Indeed, I
will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You
placeupon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while
we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allaah said,"Indeed, I know
that which you do not know."And He taught Aadam thenames – all of
them. ThenHe showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the
names of these,if you are truthful." They said, "Exalted are You;
wehave no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You
who is the Knowing, the Wise."} [Quran 2:30-32]
Clearly, without a true understanding of why we do something we
willcontinue to have impoverished souls. The example of Aadam
beforethe angels can be compared to the truly intelligent and the
analytical among us. A scholar made the point that the intelligent one
isaware of Allaah's mercy to His creation, submits to it and obeys
wherein the analytical one has notyet grasped the glory of Allaah and
still questions His Omnipotence seemingly looking for a way out.
Knowledge enlightens the soul and nurtures humility. Takingthe
position of slave/servant to Allaah broadens our perspectiveand
invokes in us the willto submit willingly to His commands.
Acknowledging our similarities and differences as assets rather than
losses will bring us closer to Allaah and closer to one another.
In order to remove subtleracism there has to be anadmission that it
exists. Then steps must be madeto heal and rekindle a relationship
that predates modern man. Our community can regain its place as
leaders of the world, but only if we accept our destiny as a unit of
one Ummah in a race towardsthe everlasting bounties of Allaah. - -

Maintaining Discipline in Worship

'Abdullaah would rise before Fajr (dawn) each morning and rush tothe
Mosque to offer the prayer. He would return to the Mosque for Maghrib
(sunset) and 'Ishaa' (evening) prayers as well. He readthe Quran
daily. He studied other Islamic books in his spare time. He spent much
of his free time with his family and took his role as the spiritual
leader in his home quite seriously .
Five years later, he found that he would go days, sometimes a whole
week without performing a single prayer. He no longer attends
congregational prayer at the Mosque—he didn't have time with his new
job. This new job involved his working closely in nightclub
establishments with people of questionable backgrounds. This resulted
in his becoming very secretive about many of his work activities; he
didn't even talk to his wife about them because he knew she would
disapprove. Work kept him busy all night and throughout the entire
weekend. Many of his new friends also worked with him and he began to
spend a great deal of his free time with them. Because of this, he
spent less time with his family. He had to sleep during theday in
order to be able to work each night.
His wife noticed a great change inhis demeanor. They had several
discussions about his work and how it was affecting him and his
relationship with Allaah Almighty. He agreed, and would begin the
process of searching for new work, but inevitably, chose to stay in
his current job. He soon found himself feeling very distanced from his
wife and children. Even though the money was abundant when he first
began, it was now barely paying the bills.
He felt his marriage crumbling beneath the years of neglect. He found
himself succumbing to depression over his circumstances, unmotivated
to initiate the things he knew he would have to do in order for his
life to change .
It is interesting to note that 'Abdullaah's life seemed much more
peaceful and balanced when he engaged in his regular religious duties,
and began to suffer significantly when he abandoned them .
Could this simply be a coincidence? Imaam Mohammad Baianouni of the
Islamic Center inRaleigh, North Carolina accuratelysums up situations
like this stating: "The regulation of a man's conduct within one
systemof life is one of the most important reasons of success
andstability. The absence of this regulation is one of the greatest
crises a man suffers from in his life. This happens when man is left
without guidance from Allaah, The Most High, or without proper
upbringing based on the Divine Guidance. Under these circumstances,
man's life becomes miserable on this earth and he will be amongst the
losers in the Hereafter".
A religion of discipline
It is only from the infinite wisdom and mercy of Allaah that we have
been given a system of belief that instructs and assists inguiding our
actions and behavior.By participating in the daily obligations of our
faith outlined in the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad we
are more likely to enjoy Allaah's bounty in this life, and reap the
rewards in the Hereafter. Allaah Almighty ordered all believers to be
disciplined in their worship, and not to disobey Him. In the Quran,
Allaah Says (what means) " So remain on a right course as you have
been commanded, [you]and those who have turned back with you [to
Allaah], and do not transgress. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do. "
[Quran 11: 112]
The intensity of our faith changesthroughout our lives. There are
times when we are of strong faith, and times when we struggle. Many
brothers and sisters who proudly claim Islam as their religion
unintentionally find themselves "slipping" in their religious duties.
Seemingly overnight their lives go from pleasurable and carefree to
darkness and confusion. You maybegin to acknowledge that you have
landed in such a state because of the choices you made, but you are
lost as to how to go about changing things.
Being steadfast in our duties to Allaah Almighty is what keeps you
from languishing during yourdarker moments. Remember thatyour ultimate
return is to Him Almighty, so you must develop discipline and a
consistency in your daily routine to keep your faith from sinking.
Developing discipline
Recognizing your shortcomings isthe first step towards becoming more
disciplined. Allaah AlmightySays (what means): "…Indeed, Allaah will
not change the condition of a people until they change what is in
themselves..." [Quran 13: 11] When you decide to change for the sake
of Allaah Almighty, Allaah will help you change. Each one is
responsible for oneself and will be questioned accordingly on the Day
of Judgment, with no one to intercede on your behalf. You must make
the choice to live yourlife according to Allaah's Will on your own.
You will not benefit from being told about what you need to do and how
you need to change in order to have a more fulfilling life. You must
take an interest in making those changesfor yourself. Only then can
you reap the rewards. Think about the wives of the Prophets Noah and
Loot, may Allaah exalt their mention. Each Prophet tried
unsuccessfully to offer the best guidance to his wife, but
becausethere was no real interest on their part, it was said to each
of women (what means): "…Enter the Fire with those who enter!" [Quran
66: 10]
I have a good friend who was going through a very rough time. Her faith
was at an all time low. During several of our conversations, she
lamented thatAllaah Almighty was punishing her for not being a "good
Muslim." I asked her: "Why must Allaah be punishing you? Allaah puts
us through many tests and trials in this life to give us the chance to
know Him better." We debated back and forth about this for some time.
She was reallystuck in the debts of despair, andfound my comments
annoyingly optimistic. I reminded her that Allaah Almighty is also
Merciful and that this trial for her could be the wake up call she
needed to have an opportunity to renew and redeem her faith and become
closer to Him Almighty. Perhaps Allaah had to put her through such
difficulty to get her attention and give her a chance to make changes
.
There are many things you can doto establish discipline in your daily
life. Such consistency not only balances our faith, but all other
aspects of our lives as well :
Evaluate yourself regularly to make certain you are doing all that you
can spiritually.
Perform your daily prayers punctually each day.
Read the Quran regularly, with aneffort to truly understand what you
are reading.
Seek knowledge regularly, religious and other, through books,
CDs/tapes, classes and lectures.
Keep company with righteous people.
Have confidence in your faith and, more importantly, in Allaah Almighty.
Regularly spend some time alone in contemplation and worship.
Islam is a complete way of life. Asbelievers, we should desire the
discipline that allows us to regulate our lives and keep chaosaway. In
choosing this way of life, peace and contentment are your right.
Discipline comes as a resultof performing certain duties consistently.
Ask Allaah to help you to establish discipline in yourreligious
commitment and to be able to submit to all that pleases Him Almighty.

Dought & Clear, - Her father did not allow her to marry a man, then she committed zina with him.

I have been facing a serious problem for approximately one year. I am
a Turkish girl, twenty-one years old, and I live in Germany. Although
my family are not religiously committed, I am trying – praise be to
Allah – to adhere to the teachings of Islam. But despite thatthere are
many problems between me and my family, because they object to me
adhering to religious observances such as wearing hijab and so on.Now
I want to get married to an Afghan man who is also religiously
committed. I told my father about that, but he is a fanatic
nationalist, and he rejected this marriage, and he beat me for this
reason. I can no longer put up with it and my mother cannot help me,
because she is very afraid of my father. We have been waiting for a
year, and he has not agreed to the marriage yet. During this period we
committed zina, and we do not know what todo. We feel distraught, and
we want to get married, but we cannot do that without my father's
agreement. Hence I do not know what to do. Is it permissible to get
married without the consent of the girl's father?
Praise be to Allah.
Firstly:
We are very surprised when you say that you are trying to adhere to
the teachings of Islam, then we see that you have squandered the most
precious thing a girl possesses after her religious commitment, which
is her chastity andhonour! How could you accept to sink to such a
level and commit this evil action?! How could you have surrendered
your honour to be violated by a stranger (non-mahram)? Does thefact
that your family does not agree to marriage to a particular man make
it permissible for you to fall into zina and commit this grave major
sin?!
We are also surprised by a religiously committed man who tempted you
to commit this evil action, or who fell into this evil action with
you. To be honest, we do not know what religious commitment is in your
opinion!
What you must do now is repent sincerely from what you have done. That
requires you to regret what has happened, to resolve notto commit such
a sin again, and to cut off ties completely with that evildoer and
sinner. It is not permissible for you to talk to him or correspond
with him, letalone meet him. This is what is required by sincere
repentance which Allah, may He be exalted, has enjoined upon the
sinners, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
"O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be
that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into
Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise)…"
[at-Tahreem 66:8].
Secondly:
You should understand that the action that you have both committed has
made it haraam for you to marry, even if your father agrees to
themarriage. That is because Allah, may He beexalted, has prohibited
marriage of the man andwoman who commit zina, unless they both repent.
Ibn Qudaamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
If a woman commits zina, it is not permissiblefor the one who is aware
of that to marry her, unless two conditions are met:
1. That her 'iddah has ended; if she became pregnant as a result
of zina, then her 'iddah ends when she gives birth, and it is not
permissible to marry her before that.
2. That she should repent from zina.
He also said:
If these two conditions are met, it is permissible for her to marry
the zaani or someone else, according to most of the scholars,
including Abu Bakr, 'Umar, Ibn 'Umar, Ibn 'Abbaas, Jaabir, Sa'eed ibn
al-Musayyab, Jaabir ibn Zayd, 'Ata', al-Hasan, 'Ikrimah, az-Zuhri,
ath-Thawri, ash-Shaafa'i, Ibn al-Mundhir, and ashaab ar-ra'y. End
quote.
Al-Mughni, 7/108, 109
We have previously discussed the ruling on this matter in the answers
to the followingquestions: 11195 , 85335 , 96460 , 87894 and 14381
Therefore, if Allah enables you to repent sincerely from this obvious
sin and immoralaction, then it will be possible for you to marrythis
man, if you think that he has repented sincerely too, and if you can
convince your fatheror he (the man) can try to win him over. If that
is not possible, then perhaps Allah will give you someone better than
him instead.
Thirdly:
With regard to parents and guardians in general, we advise them:fear
Allah with regard tothe girls under your care, and do not do anything
that you will regret afterwards for the rest of your lives, when
regret will not benefit you. "If there comes to you one with whose
religious commitment and character you are pleased, then give (your
daughter or female relative under your care)to him in marriage."
Thisis the advice of your Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be
upon him). "For if you do not do that, there will be tribulations on
earth and much corruption," as it says in the rest of the hadeeth. So
if someone comes to you, wanting to marry your daughter or sister, do
not put obstacles in his path; do not give precedence to
language, nationality, race or colour over religious commitment. Do not
give the Shaytaan any opportunity to cause your daughters and female
relatives to fall into his traps. Beware lest the Shaytaan tempt them
to do two serious things, two grave sins, namely zina or marrying
without a wali (guardian) one who came to propose marriage to her and
wasrejected by you, becausethat (marrying without awali) makes the
marriage contract invalid. Here you have seen the real-life story that
is mentioned in this question; the girl ended up committing zina
withthe man who had proposed to her, and now she is asking about
getting married without the permission of her wali. This is not an
excuse for her, but what will your excuse be before your Creator when
He calls you to account for the trust thatHe commanded you to take
care of? What will be your excuse before Allah when you rejected a
religiously-committed man who wanted to marry your daughter or your
sister in accordancewith the Qur'an and Sunnah?
We are not making any excuse for that girl who has committed a grave
sin; if she gets married without the permission of her wali, then her
marriage will be invalid. But at the same time, weare blaming the
guardians who do not fear their Lord, may He be exalted, and who
neglected that which was entrusted to them.
We also say to the girl: It may be better for you if your family
reject some of those who want to propose to you, if they think that
this is better with regard to your religious commitment and your
worldly affairs,so you should not insist on a particular person.
Guardians who prevent their daughters or female relatives from getting
married at all are sinning, and in that situation she may refer her
case to the shar'i judge or whoever is acting in his stead, so that
guardianship may be passed to someone other than that guardianwho is
refusing to arrange her marriage. If there is no one else who is
deserving of guardianship, then the shar'i judge or whoever is acting
in his stead then assumes the role of guardian (wali) and he may
arrange her marriage himself. But if a woman does the marriage
contract for herself without any guardian (wali) at all, then her
marriage contract is invalid.
For more information onthis matter, see the following questions: 7193
, 10196 , 36209 , 2127 and 7989 .
In the questions referredto there is a discussion of the evidence for
the marriage contract being invalid if it is done without the consent
of the guardian (wali), as well as a discussion of what the woman
should do if her guardian (wali)is preventing her from getting
married, and so on.

women who went against their families' opinions and married the men
they wanted to marry.

Dought & Clear, - Issues and rulings on kunyahs.

In our community in India, little girls are given kunyahs such as Umm
Haani' and Umm Salamah. Is this acceptable?
Praise be to Allah.
Firstly:
It is a good thing for the Muslim to be concerned about Islamic
rulings, even concerning the smallest of details. Even more important
than being concerned about them is to act upon whatones knows of those
rulings. With regard to kunyahs there are some issues that are worth
pointing out, after which we will answer the question itself, with
further details.
1.
The kunyah is a name that beings with "Abu (Father of)" or "Umm
(Mother of)"; it is something other than a personal name or a
nickname.
2.
The kunyah is somethingwith which a person is praised and honoured,
unlike nicknames which may have connotations of praise or otherwise.
3.
Evildoers, disbelievers and innovators may be referred to by kunyahs
ifthey are only known by their kunyahs, or if that is done for a
purpose, orif their names contain meanings that are contrary to Islam.
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): "Perish
the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he!"
[al-Masad 111:1].
An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:Chapter on the
permissibility of giving akunyah to a disbeliever, innovator or
evildoer, if he is only known by thatname or there is the fearthat
mentioning his real name may cause confusion. Allah, may He be
exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): "Perish the two hands
of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he!" [al-Masad
111:1], although his actual name was 'Abd al-'Uzza. It was said that
he was mentioned by his kunyah because he was known by it, or it was
said that this was so as to avoid using his name, as it described him
as a slave of an idol (al-'Uzza).
I [Imam an-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) is speaking] say:Abu
Taalib is repeatedly mentioned in hadeeth by his kunyah, and his name
was 'Abd Manaaf. In as-Saheeh it says: "This is the grave of Abu
Righaal." And there are many similar examples. All of this applies if
the condition that we have mentioned above is met.If it is not met,
nothing to the name should be used.
End quote from al-Adhkaar, p. 296
4.
The kunyah does not necessarily have to include the name of one's
child; rather it mayrefer to an inanimate object or an animal.
Examples of kunyahs referring to inanimate objects include "Abu Turaab
(i.e., the one who has dust on him); examples of kunyahs referring to
animals include "Abu Hirr" or "Abu Hurayrah" (i.e., the one who has a
cat or kitten, respectively).
5.
Kunyahs referring to names do not necessarilyhave to refer to one of
the children of the individual who is called by that kunyah.
For example, Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq did not have a son whose name was Bakr.
6.
The kunyah does not have to refer to the oldest child of the person
who is called by that kunyah, although that is preferable.
It was narrated from Haani' that when he came to the Messenger of
Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with his people, he
heard them calling him by the kunyah Abu'l-Hakam. The Messenger of
Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) summoned him andsaid:
"Allaah is al-Hakam (the Judge), and judgement belongs to Him. Why are
you knownby the kunyah of Abu'l-Hakam?" He said: When my people differ
concerning anything, they come to me and I pass judgement among them,
and both sides accept it. The Messenger of Allaah (blessings and peace
of Allah be upon him) said: "How good this is. Do you have any
children? He said: I have Shurayh, Muslim and 'Abd-Allaah. He said:
"Who is the oldest of them?" I said: Shurayh. He said: "Then you are
Abu Shurayh."
Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4955; an-Nasaa'i, 5387; classed as saheeh by
al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
The scholars of the Standing Committee were asked: Is it permissible
to call someone by referring to his younger son, because the older son
died in infancy?
They replied: It is preferable to call a person by referring to his
oldest son, whether he is alive or dead, and to call him by that
kunyah. But if a person is called by referring to his youngest son,
there is no sin on the one whodoes that, whether the older son is
alive or dead.

upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.

7.
There is no reason why the kunyah cannot refer to the daughters of the
person who is called by that kunyah.
An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:Chapter on the
permissibility of a man being called by a kunyahreferring to either a
male or a female, or a woman being called by akunyah referring to a
either a male or a female. It should noted that there is no
restriction in this matter. Some of the best of the earliest
generations of this ummah -- the Sahaabah and the Taabi'een who came
after them -- were known by kunyahs referring to their daughters, such
as 'Uthmaan ibn 'Affaan (may Allah be pleased with him) who had three
kunyahs: Abu 'Amr,Abu 'Abdullah, and Abu Layla. There was also
Abu'd-Darda' and his wife Umm ad-Darda' al-Kubra… End quote.
Al-Adhkaar, p. 296

The rulings mentioned above apply equally to men and women.
9.
The person who has a kunyah may be someonewho does not have any
children; this does not mean that he cannot be called by a kunyah.
It was narrated from 'Aa'ishah that she said: O Messenger of Allah,
all my friends have a kunyah except me. He said: "Take a kunyah from
the name of your son (nephew) 'Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr." So she was
called Umm 'Abdullah until she died.
Narrated by Ahmad, 43/291. Classed as saheeh by the editors of
al-Musnad and by al-Albaani in as-Silsilah as-Saheehah, 132.
10.
A man or a woman may be given a kunyah after marriage and before
having a child; there is nothing wrong with that.
(a)
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ood (may Allah be pleased with
him) that the Messenger of Allah (sa) gave him the kunyah Abu 'Abd
ar-Rahmaan when he had not had a child.
Narrated by al-Haakim, 3/353; at-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 9/65; classed
as saheeh by Ibn Hajar inFath al-Baari, 10/582
(b)
al-Bukhaari narrated in al-Adab al-Mufrad, underthe heading Chapter on
giving a kunyah before one has a child: It was narrated from Ibraaheem
an-Nakha'i that 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ood was given the kunyah Abu Shibl
when he did not have a child.
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Adab al-Mufrad, 848.
11.
There is no impediment to giving a child a kunyah, even before weaning
or at the time of birth, whether the child is male or female. The
scholars mentioned several benefits of giving a kunyah to a child,
such as: strengthening his character and avoiding bad nicknames; it is
also a sign of optimism that he will live to adulthood and have
children of his own.
Giving kunyahs to children is an established part of the Sunnah and
was narrated from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon
him).
It was narrated that Anasibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him)
said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon
him) was the best of people in attitude. I had a brother who was
called Abu 'Umayr -- I think he was weaned. When the Messenger of
Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw him he said: "Abu
'Umayr, what happened to (your pet) bird?" He used to play with the
bird.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari,5850; Muslim, 2150.
Al-Bukhaari included thishadeeth in a chapter entitled: Kunyahs for
children, and before a man has a child.
An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:We learn many things from
this hadeeth, such as the permissibility of giving a kunyah to someone
who has no children and giving a kunyah to a child; it is not regarded
as lying.
End quote from Sharh Muslim 14/129
In al-Mawsoo'ah al-Fiqhiyyah (35/170, 171), it says: The scholarssaid:
They used to give kunyahs to children as a sign of optimism that the
child would live untilhe grew up and had a child, and so as to avoid
nicknames.
Ibn 'Aabideen said: If a person gives his small child the kunyah of
Abu Bakr and so on, some of the scholars regarded that as makrooh, but
themajority did not regard it as makrooh, because people intend
optimism by doing that.
End quote.
Thus the answer to the question itself is that it ispermissible to
give appropriate kunyahs to children, both male and female, even if
they are still breastfeeding. If they are given the kunyahs of some of
the Sahaabah, male or female, this is somethinggood and is not
objectionable.

Islamic Stories, - Resting on a sackcloth

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: Once
Iwent to the Holy Prophet(SAW). He was resting ona sackcloth, which
had welted his body. Seeing this I began to weep. He said: "Why are
you weeping?" I said: "These Caesars and Chosroes, the kings of
Byzantium and Iran, sleep on carpets of silk and velvetand you have to
take rest on sackcloth! I weepbecause of this." He said:"There is no
need of weeping over it" (for theworld is for them and for us is the
hereafter). Extracted from the book"Shamail-e-Tirmidhi" by Shaikh
Ahmed E. Bemat.
All the pleasures of this world are temporary. So,let us strive hard
for the hereafter where Allah will grant us unimaginable forms of

Islamic Stories, - The amazing feet

I have heard the following story from an Islamic Scholar. Hopefully,
it will be beneficial for all of us.
When a child is born, he or she usually gets some characteristics and
features from his or her parents or from other family members from the
past. For example, our eyes, ears, nose or some other organs of the
body may resemble that of our parents or forefathers. There was a
group of people in Arabia who had the knowledge of this particular
science, that isthey could tell who the baby resembles. When Prophet
Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) was still a baby, his
grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, took himto his lap and was greeting those
who came for Pilgrimage (Hajj). That specific group of people was also
present and while going around the Kabah they would stare at the feet
of young Prophet Muhammad (SAW). After going around few times, they
came to Abdul Muttalib and said that they have never seen any other
baby whose feet resemble the feet ofProphet Ibrahim (AS). Only the
feet of young Prophet Muhammad (SAW) resemble them. The footprint of
Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is preservedand placed beside Kabah.
