The mindset that seeks to ascribe terrorism to Islam is the Darwinist mindset that represents the true source of terrorism

All the terrorist activities across the world that areattempted to be
equatedwith Islam, including therecent slaughter on a military base in
America, are the products of the Darwinist, Leninist, Stalinist and
Marxist mindset. Those who perpetrate such massacres have absolutely
nothing to dowith Islam. These peoplehave received a Darwinist and
Marxist education in Europe or America and are rooted in Leninism and
Stalinism. Since conflict represents the basis of the philosophy in
which someone with a Marxist, Leninist and Darwinist mindset believes,
since they regard the people killed as mere animals and also believe
that these need to be eliminated according to natural selection, it is
perfectly normal for those with such a mindset to carry out such
massacres.
Those who seek to ascribe such massacres to Islam are the
hereticalatheist masonic groupings that wish to cause divisions
between Muslims and Christians inparticular and seek to weaken the
truly devoutand give rise to oppression, conflict and war across the
globe. Atheist freemasons, representatives of the systems of the
antichrist (dajjal), seek to totally misrepresent Islam, a religion of
peace and love, and thus ensure that people hold prejudiced views of
it. The fact is, however, that unjustified killing is a sin in Islam.
Our Lord makes this absolutely clear in the Qur'an:
So We decreed for the tribe of Israel that if someone kills another
person – unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing
corruption in the Earth – it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And
if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life
to all mankind. Our messengers came to them with clear signs but even
after that manyof them committed outrages in the Earth. (Surat
Al-Ma'ida, 32)
Those who do not call onany other deity togetherwith Allah and do not
killanyone Allah has made inviolate, except with the right to do so,
and do not fornicate; anyonewho does that will receive an evil
punishment. (Surat al-Furqan, 68)
Allah reveals that it is as sinful to kill one person as to kill all
mankind. There is no question of someone who maintainsthe bounds set
by Allah of harming a single person, let alone slaughtering thousands
of innocent individuals.
In addition, under Islam nobody can arbitrarily distinguish between
those who do "right" or "wrong." Because this distinction is clearly
set out by way of the Qur'an. As revealed in the Qur'an, there can be
no aggression in Islam, only self-defense. A Muslim can only resist
aggression for purposes of defense, in the event of a threat to
himself or those around him. According to Islam, only under such
circumstances do peoplehave a "right to attack" the other side, and
then for purely defensive purposes. But if the other side ceases its
aggression, then they must also put a stop to their defensive actions.
Allah makes this a definitive pronouncement in the Qur'an:
"Fight in the Way of Allah against those who fight you, but do not go
beyond the limits. Allah does not love those who go beyond the limits.
… Do not fight them in the Masjid al-Haram untilthey fight you there.
But if they do fight you, thenkill them. That is how thekuffar should
be repaid. But if they cease, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
(Surat al-Baqara, 190-192)
Those who imagine theycan escape punishment by fleeing from justice
inthis world will never be able to avoid having to account for
themselves after death, in the presence of Allah, in the Hereafter.
Therefore, true Muslims who know that they will have to account for
their actions once they are dead are punctilious when it comes to
maintaining the bounds set by Allah. It is impossible for a genuine,
devout Muslim to harm people or perpetrate mass slaughter, things made
sinful by Allah, or to harm them in any way by turning his back on
such virtues as love, affection and forgiveness, which constitute the
very essence of Islam. The mindset that seeks to ascribe terrorist
attacks to Islam is the Darwinist, Marxist, materialist mindset that
wishes to lead the world to irreligion. Atheist freemasonry, the
system of the antichrist, has undertaken to defend this mindset. But,
by the leave of Allah, this cunning strategy of the antichrist has
been exposed and defeated inrecent times when the coming of the
Prophet Jesus (as) and Hazrat Mahdi (as) is imminent. Atheist f
reemasonry, the system of the antichrist, is no longer able to deceive
people as it usedto, and all this heretical mindset's vile plots
against Islam and true believer end in failure.

ADNAN OKTAR: There is no terror in Islam, just people of Muslim
originswho have been brought up as Darwinist materialists and
terrorists. For example, someone may have Turkish origins and his ID
card may describe himas Turkish, yet he may still be an enemy of
Turkishness. Like the alleged organization Ergenekon organization.But
his ID card says he is a Turk. It may say he is a Muslim, though that
does not necessarily make him one. In order to be a Muslim he must be
affectionate, compassionate, forgiving, tolerant and humane.
Compassion does not mean ignoring the offenses committed by someone,
by the way,but rather forgiving such offenses. Therefore,if you look
at all the people responsible for what is known as Islamicterror, all
the terrorist attacks in the world, youwill see that they have all
received a Darwinist education. They have all adopted a Darwinist,
materialist and Marxist line. They are all great admirers of Che or of
Ho Chi Minh. In other words,they are all people who have been raised
hand in glove with terrorism. As a result, Palestine and Syria have
only just beenfreed from communist thinking. Iraq has only just been
freed from it. They all used to hold Stalinist, terrorist ideas. The
old tools are therefore still being used today. Terrorists are people
produced by those old tools.
ADNAN OKTAR: Look, the leaders of the people who perpetrate actions of
this kind have all been brought up in Europe or America. Theyhave all
gone through an intensively Darwinist education. They have all adopted
Marxist, Leninistand Stalinist thinking and strive to ascribe these
things to Islam. They even called such people green communists at one
time, Muslims with a great admiration for communism. But Islam is a
pure faith. It is an unsullied faith, and nothing can subsequently be
added to it. Whatever exists in Islam already does so, and nothing can
be added on afterwards.
ADNAN OKTAR: The aim behind these Marxists' terror is to create a
division between Muslims and Christians and set them against one
another, and to install an atheist masonic, Marxist system to fill
that gap. Because the idea of thesis, antithesis and synthesis is one
espoused by both Marx and Darwin. Darwin espoused the dialectic of
living things. One lot espoused the dialectic of history. And others,
the dialectic of nature. Put the three together and you have Marxist
dialectics. The idea of conflict is inherent in that, the idea that
people can only attain perfection through conflict. Conflictis an
essential attribute of Marxists. They say thateven if you have
Marxism, its antithesis will still arise, and a newsynthesis, that it
will give rise to its own antithesis. They say that conflict is a
feature of the permanent world. Terror is essential for that to be
made a reality. This is a most devilish plan. A Marxist, atheist
masonic plan thatwould be very successfulwere it really put into
action. But I have thwarted all these plans. They are doing what
Darwinist, Marxist theoryrequires. But by demolishing Darwinism and
showing people that it is all a plot, I am thwarting the attempt toset
Muslims and Christians against one another.
ADNAN OKTAR: While being injected with Marxism, nobody will ever
become a Marxist if they come right out and say, "You will just go out
and kill people." Of course it will be given a humane appearance. The
mask must be one that has a very positive impact on the human soul and
character. In that event, people may then look favorably on it. But
there is also the theory of conflict in Marxism. What does the theory
of conflict mean? What does the constant operation of theses and
antithesis mean? It means there will be constant bloodshed. They talk
about the dictatorship of the proletariat, and that means blood, tears
and suffering. But they say there will always be counter-theses to
this. And the antithesis to that is fascism. They speak of fascism
conflicting with communism and of therebeing a new synthesis emerging
from this, and that a new antithesis to that will then emerge. Inother
words, they refer to endless disorder and anarchy. They say this a
global law and base it on Darwin's theory of evolution. The dialectic
of nature, of living things, of history. Someone who believes that has
no other option that to be a Marxist, and they are very insincere.
Someone who is a Darwinist has no option other than to be a Marxist.
If the dialectic ofliving things is true, thenaccording to their
belief the dialectic of nature and history is also true. And there is
also dialectical philosophy. People who believe in dialectical
philosophy must also sign up to conflict. In other words, they must
sign up to thesis and antithesis. They must therefore alsoaccept
terror and anarchy. That is why Lenin told people to "bomb banks, kill
the police, kill soldiers and rob banks." That is why he wanted it. He
was saying that people need to engage in such a struggle in order to
attain the thesis, antithesis and synthesis.
ADNAN OKTAR: This is a devilish ruse. There can be no terror in the
nameof Islam. Because killing is forbidden in Islam. There is no
compulsion in the religion. That is also forbidden. Compulsion is
forbidden.I am a mujahid, waging jihad. The word jihad comes from the
word 'jehd,' meaning to strive. What they are doing is slaughter. The
Qur'an does not talk of slaughter. The Qur'an refers to 'jehd,' the
jihad, spreading the religion and telling people about it. Our Prophet
(saas) describedthe religion by proving it with love, affection and
compassion. The religion is made available, and people either sign up
to it or not. If you impose it on people then the result is hypocrisy.
Do you know what hypocrisy means? You give rise to the mostvile people
in the world. Hypocrisy is many, many times worse than disbelief.
PRESENTER: Is killing on behalf of the religion legitimate?
ADNAN OKTAR: You can defend yourself for the sake of the religion. If
they come to your home and try to kill you and your children. That is
self-defense. Of course you will defend yourself in that case. But
Allah tells us to go no further. He tells us to respond
proportionately and then stop. He tells us to stop when they do. He
tells us to stop when they halt their attack. He tells us to go no

Britons want creation to be taught in schools

Great Britain, Darwin's own homeland, now rejects evolution. For years
the bastion of Darwinism, Britain has come to oppose evolution
extraordinarily quickly over the past few years. The country heads the
list of those in which thefact of creation is spreading the quickest,
and the public, as recent newspaper headlines show, now want students
to learn about the fact of creation in schools.
Richard Dawkins, who has recently stepped up his pro-Darwinist and
atheist activities in Britain, imagined that Darwinism, the worst
deception in the world, would be strengthened with atheist camps and
demagoguery. Dawkins has been engaged in wide-ranging activities to
that end for many years now, and has expressed his concern at the
spread of Creationist belief, and has set these fears out in his
latest book in such a clear manner that they cannotbe denied. Rather
than providing any scientific evidence to support his claims, Dawkins
makes far from scientific accusations, writes slogans on the sides of
public buses , seeks to attract interest by performing impersonations
on talk shows and most recentlysought shelter behind the idea of
aliens . He truly imagined that these false and demagogic methods
would work. His latest book, in which he claimsto "provide evidence
for evolution," actually contains not a single piece of scientific
evidence, only demagoguery, but he actually thinks that this outdated
method going back 150 years can still influence people today.
The fact is, however, that Dawkins' efforts in this direction have
been in vain and have enabled people to bettersee the true face of
evolution. According to the results of an opinion poll conducted last
year, only 25% of British people believe in evolution. Parents have
now objected to the state of affairs in which evolution alone has been
taught in schools and that has persisted for many years, and have now
said, "Creationshould also be taught in schools." The increasingly
rapid turning toward Allah in Britain in particular has fundamentally
undermined and demolished the bastion of Darwinism. Dawkins must have
been amazed to see the turning toward the fact of Creation among the
British people in whom he had placed so much faith, since he had no
hesitations over ignorantly describing hisown people as "ignorant."
Those who went along with superstition and failed to comprehend the
sublime might and power of Allah have always fallen into the error
into which Dawkins and other Darwinists have fallen. They have
believed that a claim put forward in opposition to Allah, a mass
deception, could muster support and grow using corrupt and false
methods. They imagined that the more propaganda was made, the more
effective it would be. They imagined they could make good their lack
of scientific evidence by indulging in impersonations on chat shows,
putting posters up on the sides of buses and entering into debates
with middle school students. The fact is, however, that by doing so
they have made the great mistake committed by everyone who has ever
striven against Allah. Allah has always thwarted the plans of those
who strove against the truth with superstition and led them to
failure. Under the law of our Almighty Lord, those who do this in the
futurewill also be condemned to failure. Almighty Allah tells us in
His verses:
... Allah is our Lord and your Lord. We have our actions and you have
your actions. There is no debate between us and you. Allah will gather
us all together. He is our final destination.' The argument of those
who argue about Allah, once He has been acknowledged, has no basis

A new name for Darwinist despair modular evolution and aperfect flying bird: Darwinopterus

The enormous scale of the Darwinist defeat andhow Darwinists have no
means of saving their theory has been set out with various forms of
supporting evidence for a long time now. But theevidence that perhaps
made this defeat clearesthas come from Darwinists themselves.
Darwinists, with no scientific evidence for their theories, confronted
by disappointment time and time again and whohave suffered their worst
rout in the manifest proofs of Creation presented in recent years,
have now set reason. Leaving reason, logic and scienceto one side,
Darwinists come up with a new claim. They said, "all the organs in the
life form we have just discovered somehow came into existence
momentarily." They then had no qualms about giving thisthe name of
modular evolution. "We do not know how it happened, but it is a form
of evolution," they said. They have quite shamelessly put this
falseand ludicrous claim out in scientific journals, as if it were
that easy to deceive people. This stage to which Darwinists have now
come is one of the greatest manifestations of the Darwinist defeat.
This new deception that Darwinists refer to as "modular evolution" is
the idea that one or more organs appears suddenly in a life form. Not
a word is of course said about how these organs emerge, what kind of
biological, physical and anatomical stages might be involvedor about
any scientific evidence for it. All we have is an evolutionist claim,
according to which an animal can suddenly grow wings or develop claws
and suddenly turn into a birdor a land-dwelling life form. DEVOID OF
ANY EVIDENCE AS TO HOW LIVING THINGS EVOLVE AND WITH NO CHANCE OF
FINDING ANY IN THE FUTURE, EITHER, DARWINISTS NOW IMAGINE THEY CAN
DECEIVEPEOPLE BY SAYING, "EVERYTHING HAPPENED IN A SINGLE MOMENT."
It is of course scientifically IMPOSSIBLE for a living thing to
suddenly develop a new characteristic, to suddenly grow a new limb or
to suddenly come into possession of a new system. ALL BRANCHES OF
SCIENCE REFUTE this claim. It must not be forgotten that the mutations
necessary for such a change to take place will inevitablykill the life
form involved. NINETY NINE PERCENT OF MUTATIONS ARE DELETERIOUS, AND
THEOTHER 1% HAS NO EFFECT. SEVERAL MUTATIONS TAKING PLACE AT THE SAME
TIME LEAD TO THE SWIFT DEATH OF THE LIVING THING CONCERNED. There is
only one reason for the production of such an amazingly ignorant idea
as modular evolution, and that is the despairing evolutionist idea of
"WHAT KIND OF EVOLUTIONARY MODEL MIGHT DO AWAY WITH THENEED TO LOOK
FOR EVIDENCE IN THE FOSSIL RECORD?"
Because THE FOSSIL RECORD DEFINITIVELY REFUTES THE THEORY OF
EVOLUTION. ALMOST 300 MILLION FOSSILS HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED TO DATE,AND
EVERY NEW FOSSIL UNEARTHED ONCE AGAIN PROVES THE COLLAPSE OF
DARWINISM.
Darwinopterus Is Also a Fossil That Confirms Creation, and That
Explains the Darwinist Panic
Seeking to support their hollow theory, Darwinists pointed to
160-million-year-old bird fossils found in the north-east of China as
anexample, at least in theirown eyes, of this false modular evolution.
This new fossil, the subject ofspeculation in many publications,
especially National Geographic, was given the name of " Darwinopterus
." Darwinopterus was a perfect flying bird with ahead and neck looking
just like those of birds alive today and whose rear legs and tail
resemble extinct forms of bird known as pterosaurs. This life formis a
perfect example of the mosaic life form group of which there are many
specimens living today. Contrary to what Darwinists maintain, this
life form isa perfect work that manifestly and powerfully refutes
Darwinism and in fact verifies Creation.
As biology advanced, living things were divided into various groups on
the basis of specific characteristics. These were scientifically
examined in the form of species, phyla, families and breeds. It was of
course impossible to divide all life forms on the basis of features
set up by human beings. Because some life forms possess features from
several groups established by human beings. These are knownas "mosaic
life forms." These may possess characteristics from several groups,
species or families. Darwinists try to use this state of affairs as a
vehicle for speculation and to depict characteristics belonging to
different species as intermediate form characteristics. But the fact
is that all these features are complete and perfect characteristics.
These lifeforms have not a single structure or organ indicating
developing and thus intermediate form characteristics. Features
belonging to various different species in one single life form are a
manifestation of the matchless works andsublime creation of Allah.
It needs to be made clear here that a pterosaur fossil has
beendiscovered before and also used as a vehicle forvarious forms of
Darwinist speculation. Darwinists failed to fully understand the
structureof the 150-million-year pterosaur and produced completely
biased and unrealistic interpretations of it. However, investigations
of the fossil by a team of scientists from three universities
described the life form's physical structure as a "masterpiece."
Thanks toits perfect and flawless mosaic structure, this animal was
able to walk comfortably on dry land,fly to perfection and alsoswim
comfortably in the seas. Because it was a marvel of creation equipped
with all these features by Allah.
The life form they are presently trying to portray as the greatest
evidence for evolution isa specimen of the pterosaur, which scientists
have previously described as a"masterpiece." The fact is, however,
that since they harbor perfect characteristics belonging to different
species, mosaic life forms represent an even more insoluble dilemma
for evolution. But since Darwinists are unable to swallow that fact
they try to go on the counter-offensive and depict them as evidence
for their own theory. In the same way, since they areunable to account
for the perfect and very different characteristics possessed by
Darwinopterus they haveno qualms about comingup with the idea of
modular evolution, an even more wretched and humiliating one for

Institution of marriage and social duties of Muslims

The foremost and fundamental institution of human society is the
family unit. A family is established by the coming together of a man
and a woman, and their contact brings into existence a new generation.
It then produces ties of kinship and community, which gradually
develop into a large society. The family is the institution through
which a generation prepares the succeeding generation for the service
of human civilization and for the discharge of its social obligations
with devotion, sincerity and enthusiasm.
This institution does not merely recruit cadets for the maintenance
and development of human culture but its guardians. They earnestly
desire thatthose who have to replace them in the future should be
better than themselves. In this respect the family can be truly
called the fountain-head of progress, development, prosperity and
strength of human civilization on Earth.
Hence, besides the social problems, Islam devotes much attention to
those relating to the family andstrives to establish this important
social unit on the healthiest and strongest foundations. According to
Islam, the correct form of relationship between a man and woman is
marriage, that is, the onein which full social responsibilities are
undertaken by them and which results in the emergence of a family.
Irresponsible behaviour are not condoned by Islam as innocent past
times or ordinary transgressions. Rather, they are acts that strike at
the very roots of human society.
Hence, Islam aims at purifying and purging the society of all
activitiesthat encourage such irresponsible action or provide
opportunities forthem. Regulations of Hijaab (an out fit women must
adhere to in Islam) , ban on free mixing of men and women,
restrictions on music and films and discouragement of the spread and
propagation of obscenities and aberrations, are all intended to guard
against this.
Their sole object is to protect and strengthen the institution of the
family. Islam does not merely regard the desirable form of social
contact as just permissible but holds andaffirms it as a good and
virtuous act. Indeed, it is seen as an act of worship. It does not
simply look upon celibacyof an adult person with disfavor, but calls
upon every young man and woman to take, in his turn, the social
responsibilities of married life just as his or her parents did in
their time.
Islam also strongly disapproves those rites, ceremonies or
restrictions that make marriage a difficult and tedious affair. The
intention of Islam is that marriage may become easy and fornication
(andadultery) the most difficult thing in society, and not vice versa
as it is in most of the societies today.
Hence, besides debarringa few specified relatives from entering into
matrimony with one another, it has legalized marital relations with
all other near and distant kith and kin. It has removed all
distinctions of caste and community and permitted matrimony of any
Muslimwith any other Muslim, although being equivalent in status is a
matter that is recognized when considering marriage. It has
enjoinedthat the amount of Mahr (dower) should be fixed at a low and
easy figure, the burden of which can be easily borne by the husband
and has dispensed with the necessity of clerics and offices of
compulsory registration.
In an Islamic society, marriage is such a plain and simple ceremony as
can be performed anywhere before two witnesses, and a Wali (woman's
guardian or one whom he authorizes), though it is essential that the
proceedings should know that the couple is now going to live a
matrimonial life.
Within the family itself, Islam has assigned to the man a position of
authority so that he may maintain order and discipline as the chief of
the household. Islam expects the wife to obey and look after the
comforts and well-being of her husband and expects the children to
behave accordingly with their parents. Islam doestnot favor a loose
and disjointed family system, which is devoid of any authority,
control and discipline and in which someone is not
pointedlyresponsible for the proper conduct and behaviour of its
members.
Discipline can only be maintained through a central authority and in
the view of Islam the position of father in the family is such that it
makes him the fittest person to take over this responsibility. But
this does not mean that the man has been made a tyrant and an
oppressor in the household and the woman has been handedover to him as
a helpless chattel. According to Islam, the real spirit of marital
life is love, understanding and mutual respect. If the woman has been
asked to obey the husband, the latter has been called upon to exercise
his privileges towards the welfare of the family andtreat his wife
with love, affection and sweetness.
Islam makes the marital bond strong but not unbreakable. It aims at
keeping the bond intact only so long as it is founded on sweetness of
love or for as long as at least the possibility of lasting
companionship exists. When this possibility of lasting companionship
exists. When this possibility diesout, it gives the man the right of
divorce and the woman the right of separation. Under
certainconditions, when married life has become a source of misery and
nuisance, it also gives theIslamic courts of justice the authority to
annul the marriage.

- The husband's right over his wife
The wise wife:
The wise wife is the one who helps her husband conquer his own
shortcomings by reminding him of Allaah The Almighty so that their
marital happiness lasts.The wives of the Companions used to tell their
husbands whenthey went out for work, "Fear Allaah The Almighty and
stay away from illicit gain."
• Mutual respect
It is a truly great blessing if mutual respect always prevails between
the spouses.
The wife should respect her husband, realize that he is in charge of
her, and must not try to change that fact. She should know that he is
the master of thefamily, its guardian, and the one in charge.
How great was the example of Umm Haani' . When the Prophet proposed to
her, she refused as she had children and was afraid that she might not
be able to fulfill her duties as a mother and a wife.
• Be an earth for him and he will be your sky:
Dear sister, read the advice that was given by Asmaa' bint Khaarijah,
the wife of 'Awf Ash-Shaybaani, to her daughter before her marriage.
This advice is comprehensive as it combines the basics of the marital
life and the morals that every girl should acquire before getting
married.
Asmaa' told her daughter,
"O daughter! If advice should not be offered to the well-mannered, I
would not advise you, but it is a reminder for the oblivious and anaid
to those who are sensible. O daughter! If any woman were to dispense
with having a husband, you would be the most worthy one of that, but
women were created for men and men were also created for women.
O daughter! You will leave the house where you grew up to live with a
man whom you do not know, so be an earth for him andhe will be your
sky. Be a resting place for him and he will be your pillar; be his
bondmaid and he will be your slave and apply the following ten tips so
that he would be a supportive husband:
• Be modest, contented and obedient.
• Be watchful of his nose and his eye so he will smell nothing fromyou
but that which is sweet and look at nothing but that which is
beautiful.
• Be careful of the timings of his sleep and food as being hungry or
sleepy makes him angry.
• Be careful with his money and take good care of your children.
• Do not disobey his orders or reveal his secrets as disobeying him
would arouse his anger and revealing his secrets would make him plot
against you.
• Avoid being happy when he is sad or being sad when he is happy.
• Respect him as much as you can so that he would honor you as much as he can.
• Agree with him as much as possible and he will accompany you
constantly and be sure that you will not attain what you aspire until
you have put his satisfaction before yours and his wishes before
yours, and Allaah The Almighty choose for you."
Every wise mother should advise her daughter in the same way and give
her the same valuable advice that includes all the rights of the
husband!
The rights of the husband over his wife
First: Obeying him according to what is reasonable
What is reasonable is what was approved by Sharee'ah (Islamic
legislation). The wife should obeyher husband in matters that Allaah
The Almighty does not forbid. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):
• {And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them,
according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them
[in responsibility and authority]. And Allaah is exalted in Might and
Wise.} [Quran 2:228]
• {Men are in charge of women by[right of] what Allaah Has Given one
over the other and what theyspend [for maintenance] from their
wealth.} [Quran 4:34]
Disobeying the husband incurs the anger of Allaah The Almighty and His
curse. Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said: "If a husband
calls his wife to his bed and she refuses causing him to sleep in
anger, the angels will curse her untill morning." [Al-Bukhaari and
Muslim]
Ibn Al-Jawzi said, "Any sensible wife should, when she finds a
suitable husband, endeavor to satisfy him and avoidanything that
annoys him. If she annoys him or does what he dislikes, he will be
bored and mayfind a good chance to leave her or prefer to be in anyone
else's company leaving her all alone. It is well-known that any person
can feel bored, so when a man is not that happy, it would be
moreprobable that he would feel bored."
Second: To stay at home and not go out without the husband's permission
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And abide in your houses and
do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of
ignorance.} [Quran 33:33] This verse was for the wives of the Prophet
but it is considered guidance for the rest of the women of the Ummahto
follow their example.
Third: Preserving his honor and wealth
The Prophet said: "The wife is a caretaker at her husband's home and
she will be held responsible for what she is in charge of."
[Al-Bukhaari]
Fourth: Cooking and housekeeping
The proof that a wife is required to serve the husband is what
wasmentioned by Ibn Al-Qayyim in his book, Zaad Al-Ma'aad. He said,
"When 'Ali and Faatimah complained to the Prophet hedivided the
responsibilities between them. He assigned the housework to Faatimah
and the outdoor work to 'Ali ."
Fifth: Adornment for the husband
Jaabir said, "Once, we were with the Prophet coming back from one of
the battles. When we were about to enter Al-Madeenah, he said: 'Wait
so that you may enter at night so that the woman of unkempt hair may
comb her hair and the one whose husband has been absent may shave her
pubic hair." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Sixth: Respecting the husband's feelings
You should avoid any saying, deed, or act that may hurt your husband.
You should consider hissocial and financial status.
Seventh: Keeping the husband's secrets
This is one of the mutual rights for both the husband and wife.
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {So righteous women aredevoutly
obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allaah would have
them guard.} [Quran 4:34] Some scholars said that this verse means the
womenwho keep the secrets that shouldbe kept. The Prophet said: "The
most wicked of people on the Day of Judgment is a man who goes in unto
a woman (i.e. his wife) and she goes in unto him, and then he divulges
her secret." [Muslim]
A reminder
Dear sister, remember that the Prophet said: "I was shown Hell-fire
and the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful." It
was asked, 'Do they disbelieve in Allaah?' (or are they ungrateful to
Allaah?) He replied, "They are ungrateful to their husbands and are
ungrateful for the favors and the good (charitable deeds) done to
them. If you have always been good (benevolent) to one of them and
then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I
have never received any good from you.'" [Al-Bukhaari]
Be tactful
Tactfulness simply means to say asuitable word and to react
intelligently. In other words, an articulate, tactful wife is one
whosays the proper words according to the situation and who has the
ability to win the situation.
Here is a famous incident where awoman acted tactfully:
Once, Khaalid ibn Yazeed ibn Mu'aawiyah, disputed with 'Abdullaah ibn
Az-Zubayr, the rivalof Banu Umayyah, and called him a 'miser'. His
wife, Ramlah Bint Az-Zubayr, the sister of 'Abdullaah ibn Az-Zubayr,
was sitting nearby, but she did not say a word. Khaalid asked her,
"Why do you not speak? Does thisindicate that you agree with what I
say or you disdain to reply?" She said, "Neither this northat, but
women were not created to interfere between men. Women are flowers who
can just be smelled and embraced." He admired her reply and was amazed
at her sensibility.
Dear sister,
Avoid characteristics that your husband hates and be keen on
respecting and revering him. In Ibn Al-Jawzi's interpretation of the
verse (what means): {But the men have a degree over them [in
responsibility and authority]}, he quoted Sa'eed ibn Al-Musayyib's
daughter who said, "We used to speak to our husbands inthe same manner
in which you speak to your princes."
Would you follow the example of the daughter of Sa'eed ibn Al-Musayyib ?
Ibn Al-Jawzi said, "A wife should be patient regarding the harm of her
husband just as a slave is patient with his master's harm."
Some of the Arabs said, "Do not marry any of these six types of women:
The oft-complaining, theoft-boasting about the favors shehas done, the
one who would wish to be married to another man, the one who desires
everything sees, the one who is fussy about her appearance, and the
one who is talkative."
'Abdullaah ibn Ja'far said to his daughter, "O daughter! Be wary of
jealousy as it is the key todivorce and avoid reproaching as it causes
hatred."
Three things can undermine a woman: love for money, selfishness, and
love for authority; whereas three matterscan elevate her: sacrificing,
loyalty and virtue.
Once, a man asked Al-Hasan "To whom would you marry your daughters?"
He said, "To the one who fears Allaah The Almighty; if he loves her,
he will honor her and if he hate her, he would not do her wrong."

- • Helping the wife to preserve herchastity
This is an established right of the wife that was mentioned in the
Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophet . It was narrated on the authority
of 'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr ibn Al-'Aas that the Prophet said to him: "O
'Abdullah! Have I not been informed that you fast all the day and
stand in prayer all night?" I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allaah!' The
Prophet said: "Do not do that! Observefasting and break your fast;
standup for voluntary night prayer and sleep. Your body has a right
over you, your eyes have a right over you and your wife has a right
over you. Thus, give each its right." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
The Prophet said that the wife has a right over her husband.
Fulfilling this right is considered an act of worship for which the
man is rewarded. It was narrated on the authority of Abu Tharr
Al-Ghifaari that theProphet said: "…and in the sexual act of each of
you there is charity." They (the Companions) said, 'O Messenger of
Allaah, when one of us fulfils his sexual desire will he have some
reward for that?' He said: "Do you not think that were he to fulfill
it unlawfully he would bear a sin? Likewise, if he fulfills it
lawfully, he will have a reward." [Muslim]
• Keeping one's wife's secrets
This is one of the mutual rights for both the husband and wife.
It was narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the
Prophet said: "The most wicked of people on the Day of Judgment is a
man who goes in to a woman (his wife) and she goes in to him, and then
he divulges her secret." [Muslim]
• Financial maintenance
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):
• {Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means and
do not harm them in order to oppress them. And if they should be
pregnant, then spend on them until they give birth.} [Quran 65:6]
• {Upon the father is the mothers'provision and their clothing
according to what is acceptable.} [Quran 2: 233]
These two verses deal with the financial maintenance of the woman
during her 'Iddah (waiting period), so maintenance is worthier for the
wife who is not divorced.
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Men are in charge of women by
[right of] what Allaah Has Given one over the other and what they
spend [for maintenance] from their wealth.} [Quran 4:34]
Commenting on this verse, Imam Ibn Katheer said, "{And whatthey spend
[for maintenance] from their wealth.} refers to the dowry and the
financial maintenance that Allaah The Almighty ordained in the Quran
and the Sunnah of His Prophet ."
It was narrated by Abu Daawood that the Prophet was asked about the
rights of one's wife, and said: "Give her food when you eat, clothe
her when you clothe yourself, do not strike her on the face, and do
not desert her except in the bed." [Abu Daawood]
Here one remembers the Hadeeththat was narrated by Al-Bukhaari and
Muslim on the authority of 'Aa'ishah . She said, "Hind, the wife of
Abu Sufyaan, said, 'O Messenger of Allaah! Abu Sufyaan is a miser. Am
I allowed to take some of his money secretly?' The Prophet said to
her: "You and your child may take what is commonly [considered]
reasonably sufficient. "
It was narrated by Muslim that the Prophet said during the Farewell
Hajj: "Their provision(i.e. the wives') and clothing according to what
is commonly acceptable are their rights over you (i.e. the husbands)."
• Being patient with the wife's mistakes and disregarding them
Perfection is not one of the characteristics of humans, but, infact,
it is human to err. Thus, men are advised that they shoulddisregard
the minor faults of t wife. The Prophet said: "A believing man should
not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics,
he will be pleased with another." [Muslim]
Hence, a wise husband should not reproach his wife for every fault,
but he should look for excuses to justify what she did and advise her
as much as possible.
• Teaching her matters of the religion
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And enjoin prayer upon your
family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you notfor
provision; We provide for you,and the [best] outcome is for [those of]
righteousness.} [Quran 20:132]
Commenting on this verse, Ibn Katheer said, "Save them from the
punishment of Allaah The Almighty by enjoining prayer upon them and be
patient."
It was narrated by Muslim that whenever the Prophet would get up for
Witr prayer, he used to say: "Get up, O 'Aa'ishah!"
Ibn 'Abbaas interpreted the verse in which Allaah The Almighty Says
(what means): {…protect yourselves and your families from a Fire}
[Quran 66:6] as to mean, "Obey Allaah, avoid sins and order your
families to remember Allaah The Almighty sothat He saves you from the
Fire."
The Prophet used to teach hiswives religious matters and approved of
one of his Companions who offered the memorized verses of the Quran as
dowry for the woman he wanted to marry.
• Treating wives equally and justly if the husband has more than one wife
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Then marry those that please
you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you
will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand
possesses. That is more suitable that you may notincline [to
injustice].} [Quran 4:3]
'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr ibn Al-'Aas narrated that the Prophet said: "Just
people would be on pulpits of light to the right of The Most Merciful
- and both His Hands are right. Those are the ones who are just with
regard to their ruling, families, and whatever they are in charge of.
" [Al-Albaani: Al-Jaami' As-Sagheer]
It was narrated in At-Tabaqaat byIbn Sa'd that he said,
"During the illness of the Prophet he would be carried every dayand
night to stay with one of his wives. The Prophet would say: 'Where
will I be tomorrow?' One of his wives understood that he wanted to
know when was the day of 'Aa'ishah and she told his other wives about
that. Thus, the wives of the Prophet said, 'O Messenger of Allaah! We
permit you to stay at the house of 'Aa'ishah as it is hard foryou to
be carried every night." The Prophet asked them: "Do you all agree?"
His wives said, "Yes." He said: "Take me to 'Aa'ishah, then."
Remember the Hadeeth (narration) of the Prophet that says: "The
conditions that are most worthy of fulfillment are those by virtue of
which sexual relations are made lawful for you." [Al-Bukhaari and
Muslim]
The husband, as a role model, should respect his in-laws and honor
them, especially his parents-in-law; they should feel that he is a son
to them. He should also be dutiful to his family and parents. Allaah
The Almighty Says (what means): {Worship Allaah and associate nothing
with Him, and to parentsdo good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy,
the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your
side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess.} [Quran
4:36]
We must be careful not be one ofthose who are rough to their families
and gentle and agreeablewith strangers.

Living in Kindness - I

Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {O mankind, fear your Lord, Who
created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed
from both of themmany men and women. And fear Allaah, through whom you
ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allaah is ever, over you,
anObserver.} [Quran 4:1]
Islam encourages marriage and clarifies the wisdom behind it and its
rulings, benefits, and virtues. In this article, we will mention some
tips for men and women who are about to get married. These tips will
serve as reminders for those who already know them and enlightenment
for the ones who are ignorant of them.
The wife's rights over her husband:
Let us take a look at a bright image from the house of the Prophet :
Al-Aswad said, "I asked 'Aa'ishah 'What did the Prophet do at home?'
She said, 'He used to serve his family and when it was time for the
prayer, he would go out for prayer.'" [Al-Bukhaari]
• Happiness lies in the right choice:
Allaah The Almighty has made marriage one of the causes of happiness
in this life and has created in humans an instinct for marriage.
Marriage can be source of tranquility and happiness if harmony
prevails between the two spouses. Allaah The Almightyhas bestowed on
people the blessing of marriage. The Almighty Says (what means):
{Andof His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that
you may find tranquility in them; and He laced between you affection
and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.}
[Quran 30:21]
It was narrated on the authority of 'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr that the
Prophet said: "The worldly life is enjoyment and the best enjoyment of
life is a righteous wife."
• Marriage is the crown of virtue:
Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd said,
"Marriage is a legitimate relationship that is established bya
contract between a man and a woman with certain conditions and pillars
approved by the Sharee'ah (Islamic legislation). Because of its
importance, most jurists and scholars of Hadeeth (Prophetic narration)
gave it priority over Jihaad (struggle), since Jihaad can only
performed by men and marriage is the only way to beget children who
will grow up into men. Marriage has great value that is indispensable
for the stability and uprightness of life, thanks to its great
benefits and noble purposes…"
Allaah The Almighty highlights the greatness of marriage and refers to
it as 'the solemn covenant'. This means the covenant that is based on
the principle of keeping [one's wife and treating her] in a
[commonly]acceptable manner or releasing [her] with good treatment.
AllaahThe Almighty Says (what means): {But if you want to replace one
wife with another and you have given one of them a great amount [in
gifts], do not take [back] from it anything. Would you take it in
injustice and manifest sin? And how could you take it while you have
gone in unto each other and they have taken from you a solemn
covenant?} [Quran 4:20, 21]
Muslim men should know that a wife is a trust for whom they willbe
held accountable on the Day ofJudgment. The Prophet said: "Be advised
to act kindly towardswomen." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
• Exchanging presents:
Exchanging presents especially between spouses is á means of
implanting love between them. The Prophet said: "Exchange presents so
that you would love one another." [Al-Albaani]
Wife's rights over her husband:
A quote from the book 'Fifty Counsels of the Prophet to Women' :
"Marriage is a partnership between a man and a woman for the sake of
bringingup a righteous generation who worship Allaah The Almighty and
develop and populate the earth. The bases of marriage in Islam are
love, affection and putting the other partner first. For a marriage to
last, Allaah The Almighty stipulated rights for thehusband and wife
that should be fulfilled."
First: Good treatment and living in kindness
The wife is a trust that is kept in the husband's house, so he should
treat her well and speak to her kindly. Allaah The AlmightySays (what
means): {...And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them --
perhaps you dislike a thing and Allaah makes therein much good.}
[Quran 4:19] The Prophet said: "A believingman is not to hate a
believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be
pleasedwith another." [Muslim]
Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said: "Be advised to act kindly
to woman, for woman was created from a rib, and the most crooked part
of therib is its top. If you attempt to straighten it, you will break
it, and if you leave it, its crookedness will remain there. Sobe
advised (to be kind) regarding women." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
The Prophet said: "The best ofyou are the best of you to their wives
and I am the best of you tomy wives." [Al-Albaani]
Second: Protecting the wife, respecting her and feeling jealousfor her:
Protective jealousy for one's wife is instinctual. Sa'd ibn 'Ubaadah
said, "If I saw a man with mywife, I would strike him (behead him)
with the blade of my sword." The Prophet said: "You, people, are
astonished at Sa'd's jealousy. By Allaah, I am more jealous [for my
wives] than he is and Allaah is more Jealous [for His slaves] than I
am. It is because of this jealousy that Allaah has made both apparent
and concealed immorality unlawful." [Al-Bukhaari]
In his book 'Rawdhat Al-Muhibbeen', Imam ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned some
kinds of jealousy that are good and others that are dispraised.
Hesaid,
"There are different types of jealousy which can be explained as
religious zeal in the first and second case and as manly zeal in the
third case:
1. Jealousy of the slave when one of the prohibitions of Allaah The
Almighty are violated
2. Jealousy of the slave that his heart would rely on anyone otherthan
Allaah The Almighty or enjoycompany of someone more than he enjoys the
company of Allaah The Exalted.
3. Jealousy regarding one's womenfolk.
The abovementioned types are jealousy that Allaah The Almighty and His
Prophet like. Any other type of jealousy is one of the plots of a
devil or a trial from Allaah The Almighty, such as the wife's jealousy
when her husband gets remarried."

Sacrifices, - His sacrificial animal fell and he slaughtered it before it died; does it still count as a sacrifice?.

The sacrificial animal fellfrom the roof of our house and we
slaughtered it before it died; is that permissible?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
It appears from your question that you slaughtered the sacrificial
animal before the Eid prayer. If that is the case, then it is not a
sacrifice (udhiyah), because the condition ofthe sacrifice is that it
should be slaughtered on the days of sacrifice, which are the day of
Eid and the three following days.
It was narrated that Jundub ibn Sufyaan (may Allaah be pleased with
him) said: I was present on Eid al-Adha with the Messenger of Allaah
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). When he hadfinished
leading the people in prayer, he looked at a sheep that had been
slaughtered and said, 'Whoever slaughtered (his sacrifice) before the
prayer, let him slaughtera sheep in place of it, and whoever has not
yetslaughtered (his sacrifice), let him do so in the name of Allaah."
Narrated by al-Bukhaari,942; Muslim, 1960.
Based on this, if this sacrifice was in fulfilment of a vow, thenyou
have to offer another sacrifice in its stead.
But if you slaughtered it at the time of sacrifice, and you bought it
with the intention of sacrificing it, then it is valid and is a
sacrifice (udhiyah), even if it was damaged as the result ofits fall
from the roof. Seealso question no. ( 39191 ).
Secondly:
With regard to the validity of your slaughtering it, it is validif you
managed to do it before it died.
Allaah has forbidden that which has been killed by strangling, and
that which has been killed by a violent blow –which is an animal that
dies from a blow with a piece of wood or metal –and that which has
beenkilled by a headlong fall – like your sacrifice – and that which
has beenpartially eaten by wild animals. This applies if the animal
dies, but if people catch up with it before it dies and slaughter it
in the manner prescribed in sharee'ah, then it becomes halaal.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al‑Maitah (thedead animals — cattle
—beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which
Allaah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering (that which
has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allaah, or has
been slaughtered for idols) and that which has beenkilled by
strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by
thegoring of horns — and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild
animal — unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death)"
[al-Maa'idah 5:3]
Ibn Katheer said:
The phrase "unless you are able to slaughter it" refers to that which
you are able to reach and slaughter in the proper manner when there is
still evidently life in it. That refers to the phrase, "that which has
been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong
fall, or by the goring of horns — and that which has been (partly)
eaten by a wild animal".
Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 2/11, 12
It was narrated from Ka'b ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him)
that they had sheepthat used to graze at Sal'(a mountain in Madeenah):
a girl of ourssaw a sheep that was dying, so she broke a stone and
slaughtered it with it. He said to them: "Do not eat it until I ask
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)." He asked the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about that and he
told him to eat it.Narrated by al-Bukhaari,2181.

Sacrifices, - What should the one who wants to offer a sacrifice refrain from doing?.

With regard to a Muslim who is not performing Hajj, what should he do
during the first ten days of Dhu'l-Hijjah? Is cuttingthe nails and
hair not permissible? Is putting on henna or wearing new clothes not
permitted until after the sacrifice has been slaughtered?.
Praise be to Allaah.
If the onset of Dhu'l-Hijjah has been proven and a person wants to
offer a sacrifice, it is haraam for him to remove anything from the
hair on his body or to cut his nails or any part of his skin. It is
not forbidden for him to wear new clothes or to put on henna or
perfume, or to be intimate with his wife orhave intercourse with her.
This ruling applies only to the one who is going to offer the
sacrifice, and not to the rest of hisfamily, and not to the one whom
he appoints to slaughter the sacrificeon his behalf. None of these
things are forbidden for his wife orchildren, or for his deputy.
No differentiation is made between men and women with regard to this
ruling. If a woman wants to offer a sacrificeon her own behalf,
whether she is married or not, then she should refrain from removing
any hair from her body or cutting her nails, because of the general
meaning of the texts which state that that is not allowed.
This is not called ihraam,because there is no ihraam except during the
rituals of Hajj and 'Umrah, and the one who is in ihraam wears the
ihraam garments and refrains from wearing perfume, having intercourse,
and hunting, but all of these things are permissible for the one who
wants to offer a sacrifice after the month of Dhu'l-Hijjah begins. He
is not forbidden to do anything except cut his hair, trim his nails or
remove anything from his skin.
It was narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "When
you see the new moon of Dhu'l-Hijjah, and one of you wants to offer a
sacrifice, let him refrain from (removing anything) from his hair or
nails." Narrated by Muslim, 1977. According to another version: "Let
him not remove anything of his hair or skin."
The scholars of the Standing Committee said:
It is prescribed for the one who wants to offer a sacrifice, when the
month of Dhu'l-Hijjah begins, that he should not remove anything from
his hair, nails or skin until he has offered the sacrifice, because of
the report narrated by the group apart from al-Bukhaari (may Allaah
have mercy on them), from Umm Salamah (mayAllaah be pleased with her),
that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) said: "When you see the new moon of Dhu'l-Hijjah, and one of you
wants to offer a sacrifice, let him refrain from (removing anything)
from his hair or nails." According to a version narrated by Abu
Dawood, Muslim and al-Nasaa'i: "Whoever hasa sacrifice to offer,
whenthe new moon of Dhu'l-Hijjah begins, let him notremove anything
from his hair or nails until he has offered the sacrifice"– whether he
is going to slaughter the sacrifice himself or has asked someone else
to slaughter it on his behalf. As for the one on whose behalf the
sacrifice is being offered, that is not prescribed in his case,
because there is no report to that effect. That is not called
ihraam,rather ihraam refers to the one who enters ihraam for Hajj or
'Umrah or both. End quote.

The scholars of the Standing Committee were asked:
In the hadeeth it says, "Whoever wants to offera sacrifice or appoint

the month of Dhu'l-Hijjah, let him not remove anything from his hair,
skin or nails, until he has offered the sacrifice." Does this
prohibition apply to all the members of a household, old and young, or
does it apply to the adults only and not the children?
They replied:
We do not know of a version of the hadeeth which appears as mentioned
in the question. The version which we know is narrated from the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as reported by
the group apart from al-Bukhaari from Umm Salamah (may Allaah be
pleased with her), according to which the Messenger of Allaah (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "When you see the new moon
of Dhu'l-Hijjah, and one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, let him
refrain from (removing anything) from his hair or nails." According to
a version narrated by Abu Dawood – which was also narrated by Muslim
and al-Nasaa'i – "Whoever has a sacrifice to offer, when the new moon
of Dhu'l-Hijjah begins, let him not remove anything from his hair or
nails until he has offered the sacrifice." This hadeeth indicates that
it is not allowed to remove anything from the hair or nails after the
first tendays of Dhu'l-Hijjah begin, for the one who wants to offer a
sacrifice. The first report includes a command to refrain, which
basically implies that refraining isobligatory, and we do not know of
any reason to interpret it otherwise.The second report includes the
prohibition on removing anything, which basically implies that it is
haraam, and wedo not know of any reason to interpret it otherwise.
Thus it is clear that this hadeeth applies only to the one who wants
to offer the sacrifice. As for the one on whose behalf the sacrifice
is being offered, whether he is old or young he is not forbidden to
remove anything from his hair, skin or nails, based on the basic
principle, which is that these actions are permitted. We do not know
of any evidence to the contrary.End quote.

Secondly:
None of these things are haraam for the one who does not intend to
offer a sacrifice because he is unable to. Whoever removes anything
from his hair or nails althoughhe plans to offer a sacrifice does not
have to offer any fidyah (ransom), but he has to repent and seek
forgiveness.
Ibn Hazm (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Whoever wants to offer a sacrifice, it is obligatory for him, once the
month of Dhu'l-Hijjah begins, not to remove anything from his hair or
nails until he has offered the sacrifice,whether that is by shaving,
trimming or any other means. Whoever does not plan to offer a
sacrifice is not obliged to adhere to that.
Al-Muhallah, 6/3
Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Once this is established, then he should forego cutting his hair or
clipping his nails. If he does that, he should ask Allaah for
forgiveness, but he does not have to offer any fidyah, according to
scholarly consensus, whether he did that deliberately or out of
forgetfulness.

Al-Shawkaani said:
The reason behind this prohibition is so that all parts will remain to
be ransomed from the Fire, or it was said that it is sothat he will
resemble theone who is in ihraam. Both views were narrated by
al-Nawawi, but he narrated from thecompanions of al-Shaafa'i that the
second view is a mistake, because (the person who wants to offer a
sacrifice) does not keep away from women or stop putting on perfume or
wearing regular clothes, and other things which the person in ihraam
refrains from.

Sacrifices, - Ruling on sacrificing camels other than an’aam animals.

A person lives at the North Pole and wants to offer a sacrifice. Is it
permissible for him to sacrifice a fish?.
Praise be to Allaah.
It is not valid to sacrifice a fish, horse, deer or chicken, because
one of the conditions of sacrifice is that it must be one of the
an'aam animals, which are camels, cattle and sheep of all kinds,
because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And for every nation We have appointed religious ceremonies, that
they may mention the Name of Allaah over the beast of cattle [an'aam]
that He has given them for food"
[al-Hajj 22:34]
It is not reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) or any of his companions sacrificed any other kind of
animal.

Al-Nawawi said in al-Majmoo' (8/364-366):
The conditions of a sacrifice being valid include that it should be
one of the an'aam animals, which are camels, cattle and sheep.All
kinds of camels, cattleand sheep, including goats, are acceptable.
Other kinds of animals, such as wild cattle, donkeys etc are not
acceptable, and there is no difference of scholarly opinion on
thispoint, whether male or female of all kinds, thereis no difference
of opinion on any of that inour view.
A cross between a deer and sheep is not acceptable, because it is not
an an'aam animal. End quote.
Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said something similar in
al-Mughni (368).
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on
him) said in his essay Ahkaam al-Udhiyah wa'l-Zakaah (rulings on
sacrifice and zakaah):
The type (of animal) thatmay be sacrificed is an'aam animals only,
because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And for every nation We have appointed religious ceremonies, that
they may mention the Name of Allaah over the beast of cattle [an'aam]
that He has given them for food"
[al-Hajj 22:34]
The an'aam animals are camels, cattle, sheep andgoats. This was stated
byIbn Katheer who said: This was the view of al-Hasan, Qataadah and
others. Ibn Jareer said: This is how it is among the Arabs. End quote.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do
not sacrifice anything but a musinnah; if one isnot available then
sacrifice a jadh'ah sheep(one that is over a year old)." Narrated by
Muslim (1963). A musinnah is a camel, cow or sheep that is twoyears
old or older. This was the view of the scholars (may Allaah have mercy
on them).
The sacrifice is an act of worship, and it should not be done except
in the manner narrated from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him), and it is not narrated that he
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sacrificed anything but a
camel, cow or sheep. End quote.

Islamic Stories, - The young man who learned what cannot be taught

Once upon a time, there lived in Basra an old man whose only
occupation was caring for and loving his only son who was a handsome
young man. The old man invested all his money on his son's education.
The young man went away for a few years and acquired an education at a
well known university under the great scholars of thatage.
The day had arrived for the son to return from his studies and the old
man waited at the door for his son. When the son came and met his
father, the old man looked into his eyes and felt great
disappointment. "What have you learnt my son?" he asked, "I have
learnt everything there was to be learnt, father",he said. "But have
you learnt what cannot be taught?" asked the father. "Go, my son and
learn what cannot be taught", said the old man.
The young man went back to his master and asked him to teach him what
cannot be taught.
"Go away to the mountains with these four hundred sheep and come back
when they are one thousand", said the master.
The young man went to the mountains and became a shepherd. There for
the first time he encountered a silence. He had no one totalk to. The
sheep did not understand his language. In his desperation, he would
talk to them but they would look back at him as if to say he was
stupid. Slowly but surely he began to forget all his worldly
knowledge, his ego, his pride and hebecame quiet like the sheep and
great wisdomand humility came to him.
At the end of two years when the number of sheep had grown to
onethousand, he returned to his master and fell on his feet. "Now you
have learnt what cannot be taught," said the master.
NB. It is interesting to note that the Nabis of Allah Taala (Alayhimus
salaam) at some time in their lives, generally before Nubuwwat, tended

Islamic Stories, - Struggles benefit - The man who wanted to help the butterfly

A man found a cocoon ofa butterfly. One day a small opening
appeared.He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it
struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed
to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as
it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors
and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and
small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at
any moment, thewings would enlarge and expand to be able tosupport the
body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life
crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was
able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was
thatthe restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly
to get through the tiny opening were Allah's way of forcing fluid from
the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for
flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If Allah
allowedus to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would
cripple us.
We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never "fly"!
I asked for Strength.........
And Allah gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom.........
And Allah gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity.........
And Allah gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage.........
And Allah gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love..........
And Allah gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favours.........
And Allah gave me Opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted ........
I received everything I needed!
"So blessed be Allah, the best of creators!"
Sura The Believer (23) verse 14.
