*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Taqwa: Fear of the Almighty

Bismillahir-Rahma-nir-Raheem
A person once asked the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaiyhi wa
sallam), "O Messenger of Allah! Give me some advice." The Prophet
(sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) replied, "I advise you to fear
Allahbecause it is the head of everything."
This is taqwa--having fear of the Majestic, theAll-Mighty, Most High,
Most Exalted, the One Creator, the Supreme Power.
Muhammad (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) said, "Have fear of Allah, it
is the head of everything." But to have fear of Allah, we must attain
God-consciousness, theawareness that Allah isdeeply involved in every
aspect of our lives, in our every action, in our every thought, in
every spoken word. He sees what we do hidden and what we do openly. He
sees all that we do, whether it's intentional or unintentional,
whetherit's an evil, sinful act or a good, rewardful act. He hears all
we say, whether we say it to someone's face, to ourselves, behind
someone's back, or in our innermost thoughts. He is the Alive, the
Eternal and He is closer to us than the vein in our neck (Suratul Qaaf
50:16).
The likeness of one who has the awareness of the reality of Allah's
existence in every single act, every single decision, every single
word, every single thought is the likeness of a dry, curled up desert
plant that receives a drop of moisture, which will make it spread out
its leaves and sink its roots and flourish and blossom. Similarly,
onewho feels Allah in theirheart at every breath they take and in
every aspect of their lives and in everything they do from the
important and profound to the everyday, simple tasks becomes aware of
the great thirst, the great dependence and the great joy his or her
life had been lacking without this devotion, without this urge to
serve. And with it they strive for the pleasure of their Lord, finding
fulfillment and happiness.
Taqwa--fear of Allah. There was a time when this actually meant
something. There was a time when Umar bin al-Khattaab (radiyallahu
anhu) merely said a two-word khutbah. He said, "Ittaqullah!" Fear
Allah! And with that hestarted the Jumu'ah prayer. But today, we are
in a situation in which these two words alone will hold no weight as
it did at the time of the Prophet(sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) and
his companions (radiyallahu anhum). There was a time when fearing
Allah, theOne, the True, was a type of advice in whichpeople did take
heed, but today its means absolutely nothing to us. Instead of having
fear of He, whose hands hold our very lives, instead of havingfear of
He who holds our destinies, instead of having fear of He who takes not
our eyesight or our hearing or our ability to feel, but gives us
thousands of chances daily to turn to Him, who do we fear? We fear our
friends, our peer group. We fear them so much that we disobey that
same God,who loves us so much that He forgives all our sins if only
one tear falls from our eyes onto our cheeks. One tear! We go out with
our friends, even our relatives, to make them happy and to fit in. We
go to the movies, we go out partying at clubs and pubs committing sins
and earning the displeasure of Allah and earning the pleasure of
Shaytaan (Satan) for their sake."Here just have a sip ofthis. It's not
gonna do nothing," or, "Smoke a joint, man. What's wrong with you
mama's boy?!?" or,"Come on, baby, just once if you really love me."
These phrases might sound familiar to some of us. Instead of realizing
that one day, on a day in which there is no doubt, we will be called
up one by one to answer for every deed we committed and then either
thrown into the Hellfire or welcomed into Paradise, we obey the
disbelievers and the hypocrites (Muslims only by name):
"O Prophet! Keep your duty to Allah and obey not the disbelievers and
the hypocrites. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. And follow
that which is inspired to you from your Lord. Verily, Allah is well
aquainted with what you do. And put your trust in Allah and Sufficient
is Allah as Trustee." (Suratul Ahzaab 33:1-3)
"How do you disbelieve in Allah when He gave you life when you were
dead, then He will give you death, then life again, then unto Him you
will return?" (Suratul Baqarah 2:28)
Instead of fearing the one who gave us life after we were dead, the
One who bestows upon us food to keep our stomachs full, clothes to
keep us warm, and houses to protect us, who do we fear? We fear our
employers and our teachers. And because of fear of them, we choose not
to worship that One, Powerful Lord at our prescribed times. We fear
them?!?!? Them, who Allah, Himself created--created them as He created
us, the believers, out of the dust of the earth?!? Yet, we fear them,
whothemselves will have no protects, no friends,no helpers, nor any
interceders against Allah on the Day of Resurrection. Imagine, we make
the choice not to worship the Lord of Kindness. And, in reality, we
fear everything, but we fearnot Allah, the Source ofall Goodness.
"It is only Shaytaan that suggests to you the fear of his friends and
supporters (disbelievers) so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are
true believers." (Suratul Ali Imran 3:175)
"Truly, Allah is with those who fear Him, keep their duty to Him,and
those who are doers of good for the sake of Allah only." (Suratul Nahl
16:128)
"Whoever fears Allah, Allah will grant him a way out of hardship; and
whoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will forgive his
sins from him and will enlarge his reward." (Suratut-Talaq 65:2, 5)
"Verily, those who are fearful of Allah are the people who, when an
evil thought from Shaytaan comes to them, they remember Allah, and
indeed they then see aright." (Suratul A'raaf 7:20)
Once the fear and awareness of Allah dawns on a person, lifeis never
the same. When a person's heart opens up to Allah, it cannot be. The
way we view life, how we see life, our ambitions in life, our
expectations in life, our goals in life, all change. After this, every
aspect of life is seen with a spiritual and Islamic dimension. There is
a reason, an aim, a goal to it all, a sense of justice and
fulfillment, and a senseof a relationship with one's Creator, the
Creator who is deeply involved with every action and thought of our
lives.
"It is Allah Who gives life and death and Allah sees well all that you
do." (Suratul Ali Imran 3:156)
"Truly my Lord casts (a mantle) of Truth (over His servants), He that
has full knowledge of (all) that is hiddenIf I am astray it is only at
the loss of my own soul; but if I receive guidance, it is because of
the inspirations of my Lord to me; it is He Who hears all things and
is ever near." (Suratus-Saba 34:48, 50)
This is why it is also important to realize that Islam is a way of
life. It is not just a ritual of prayers, fasting, and feasting. Islam
is the true deen, the Deen of Allah, a complete system of lifeand this
life, the Islamic life, is to be lived the way Allah hasprescribed it.
And it starts with taqwa. Now, taqwa is more than just having fear
ofAllah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Umar ibn Abdul Aziz (radiyallahu anhu) narrated: "Taqwa is not fasting
during the day and it is not praying during the night and it is not
the mixing of the two of them, but taqwa is leaving what Allah has
made haram (forbidden) and by doing what Allah has made fard. After
one has done this, Allah will provide good things for that person."
Al Hasan (radiyallahu anhu) reported: "The people who have taqwa
(called al-muttaqeen) are the people who avoided whatever Allah
prohibited and had done whatever Allah ordained."
And this, doing what ispermitted and refraining from what is
prohibited comes from the fear and awareness of Allah's presence. The
means of obtaining taqwa is in our grasp and our ability; it is in our
very homes, and it is what our arwah (souls) crave. The means of
gaining taqwa, the fear of Allah, which leads to a more nourished and
healthy ruh, which leads to a more obedient Muslim, which leads to
refraining from all haram, which leads to striving to gain Allah's
pleasure, which helps lead us to success, which will lead us to Jannah
(Insha Allah) is the remembrance of Allah azzowajal, His dhikr, and it
is the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, His very words. This is why the
Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) said, "Fear Allahit is the head
of everything."
It is so easy to remember Allah and toglorify and praise Him,
especially once we've reached this step. For example, when we are
standing in line at the grocery store with all our goods--breads,
cereals, drinks, sweets, nourishments, we should do
tasbih--Subhannallah, Alhumdulillah, Allahu Abkar, and just speak to
Allah in your heart and thank Him for His blessings. Simple. Remember
Allah, praise Him, wherever you are, whatever you are doing.
Another means of gaining taqwa is the guidance of the Qur'an.Its
greatness and its power, is only known to those who experience it and
receive its guidance. Its words have the dynamic power that noother
words could everpossess. It contains thevery words of Allah. Imagine:
holding the very sacred, holy, divine words of the only Supreme Being,
the Only One worthy of being worshipped. What a blessing! We must keep
a habit of reciting the Qur'an, even if it is just a few verses before
heading to work or school, or if we cannot even do that, even
listening to the tilawah, the recitation, of the Holy Book in the car
is, itself, a beautiful experience. The words of the Qur'an are so
powerful, it could make every hair on ourbodies stand to the fear of
Allah.
"Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." (Suratur-Ra'd 13:28)
The observance of salah, the one most important act of worship, in the
eyes of Allah, is another means of gaining taqwa and closeness
toAllah, if offered properly and regularly. It is the first thing we
will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement. It is also one of
the good deeds that will protect one from the torment of the grave.
Salah is the heart of Islam and it is the heart of faith (iman). It
saves us from evil and helps us lead a pure life. It expresses our
gratitude to Allah for His mercy and His kindness. By our salah, we
not only glorify andworship the Creator of all that is in the heavens
and all that is in the earth, but we seek His forgiveness through it.
It is blessedand we are blessed to receive a type of worship that has
the power to absolve us of our sins if offered regularly, properly,
and sincerely.
To be included among the muttaqeen, those who have taqwa, we must
refrain from all forbidden acts, all forbidden words, thoughts,
feelings, and emotions, all forbidden celebrationsand gatherings,
which are places of fitna; we must refrain from those who practice and
do what is forbidden and displeased by Allah and stick with the pious
and righteous, who will help us make a habit of doing what is good and
pleasing toAllah and help us refrain from what is sinful and
displeasing to Allah.
In conclusion, from what Allah and His Messenger (sallallahu alaiyhi
wa sallam) has outlined for us, we can see that a person who possesses
taqwa is notone who lives an isolated life, only praying and fasting
and maintaining good character alone. Instead, the muttaqeenare those
who fear Allah and look to what Allah has ordained in the carrying out
of his actions to avoid His displeasure and anger. These are they who
areinvolved with the strengthening of the Ummah, active in his or her
life concerned with the affairs of the Muslims while, at the same
time, keeping their duty to their Lord--praying, fasting, spending in
Allah's cause, having good morals, behaviors, and characteristics.
This is why the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) said fearing
Allah is the head of everything. Without this, life is just life, the
daily grind, a gradual process from life to death, but with the
blessing of Islam, we could make our lives more than just life, more
than just the daily grind, more than just a gradual process from life
to death, by the guidance of the Most Glorious Book, the Holy Qur'an
and by the Sunnah, the sayings and teachings of Prophet
Muhammad(sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam).
The Prophet (sallallahualaiyhi wa sallam) said, "The most common
reason for people to enter Jannah is taqwa and good manners and the
most common reason for people to enter the Hellfire is the mouth and
the private part!" In his last khutbah, the Prophet (sallallahu
alaiyhi wa sallam) said, "I ask you to fear Him, listen to Him, and
obey."
"Truly, the muttaqeen will be amidst Gardensand water springs (Paradise)."
(Suratul Hijr 15:45)
May the Turner of hearts, turn our hearts towards His obedience. May
He giveus the towfique to change in order to fearand obey Him. Our
Lord! Make us submissive to You and of our seed a nation submissive to
You and show us our ways of worship and relent towards us, Lo! You,
only You are the Relenting the Merciful (2:128). Our Lord! Cause not
our hearts togo astray after You have guided us and bestow upon us
mercy from Your presence. Lo! You, only You, are the Bestower. Our
Lord! It is You, Who gathers mankind together on a Day in which there
is no doubt (3:8-9). Our Lord! Lo! We believe; so forgive us our sins
and guard us from the punishment of the fire (3:16)! Ameen.

Stop lying!

Darwinists are wretched out of desperation!
They attempted to show the complete lemur fossilnamed Ida--which is an
extinct species--as a transitional form.
And about 90 percent of the animal and plant species on earth
becameextinct. [1] There are 99 species of lemurs. And 16species of
lemurs became extinct and many other species are now being determined
as extinct. And many more species have been lost. All the extinct
species are all perfect living forms with no signof the so-called
transitional forms.
Ida, is one the extinct species of lemur. It is aperfect developed
lemur and it shows nosign of intermediary form. It is an evidence of
creation.
THE TRUE FACTS ABOUTTHE FICTITIOUS 'MISSING LINK' IDA THAT DARWINISTS
NEVER MENTION >>>
[1] Science in Africa, Africa's First On-Line Science Magazine,
Nobody Attaches Any More Credence to Evolutionists' False Evidence!
* Darwinism is now finished. Darwinists and materialists have been
belittled in the public eye. They must now renounce their meaningless
pride and obstinacy and free themselves from the spell of the last 150
years. Life did not come into being by chance, and living things are
notdescended from one another. Almighty Allah (God) created the
universe and everything, living and inanimate, within it.
* Evolutionists who invent lie after lie and keep raising false
evidence in order to keep the theory of evolution alive are
beinghumiliated in the public eye. The latest evolutionist false
evidence is the fossil dinosaur known as Tyrannosaurus, depictedas the
"ancestor of birds." The results of a study conducted on proteins
obtained from this fossil, discovered in the state of Montana in the
USA in 2003, were again made public in a sensational manner.
Evolutionists compared the proteins they obtained from this fossil
with those of 21 modernspecies of bird and cameup with the lie that
this creature was directly related to the chicken and the ostrich.
* The fact is, however, that the idea that birds evolved from
dinosaurs is an invention opposed by leading ornithologistswho produce
clear evidence to back their case. Similarities among living things
represent no evidence for the theory of evolution. It is of course
utterly normal for there to be molecularsimilarities among
livingthings, because they are made up of the same molecules, use the
same water and atmosphere and consume nutrients made of the same
molecules. It is perfectly natural for their metabolisms and therefore
their genetic structures to resemble one another.
* If attempts are madeto prove evolution on the basis of molecular
comparisons, the picturethat emerges leaves evolution in a totally
helpless position. When evolutionists' illusory family trees are
prepared in the light of molecular comparisons, all previous family
trees have to be thrown away and it even has to be maintained that
there is an evolutionary link between human beings and the potato.
* Based on findings from the field of microbiology, the renowned
biochemist Prof. Michael Denton makes this comment:
"Each class at a molecular level is unique, isolated and unlinked by
intermediates. Thus, molecules, like fossils, have failed to provide
the elusive intermediates so long sought by evolutionary biology… At a
molecular level, no organism is"ancestral" or"primitive" or"advanced"
compared with its relatives…" (Evolution: A Theory in Crisis, London:
Burnett Books, pp. 290-91)
* The oldest-known bird fossil is Archaeopteryx, which dates back
some 150 million years. With its perfect flight muscles and feathers
ideally suited to flight, this animal was a flying bird. The dinosaur
fossil in thelatest study seeking to establish a relation with birds
is only 68 million years old. This means that birds were in existence
some 80 million years before this dinosaur. For that reason, the idea
that there is an evolutionary link to this dinosaur, andthat birds
"evolved from dinosaurs" is a fantasy.
* These efforts are all in vain. Modern science has revealed that
the extraordinary complexity in the origin of life cannot be explained
from a materialist perspective. Reports of this kind on the press are
just hopeless and misleadingtactics on the part of various circles
holding a materialist world view. Living things were created through
Almighty Allah commanding them to "Be!" not through a chance process
of evolution.
The newly announced Tyrannosaurus fossil, which is claimed to havea
familial link to birds, is 68 million years old. Yet the fossil known
as Confuciusornis, shown above and belonging to an extinct species of
bird, is fully 120 million years old.
1. Not one single proteincan come into being by chance.
Proteins are complex molecules that both represent the building
blocks of living cells and also assume various functions within the
cell. When the chances of an average protein molecule emerging by
chance are calculated, the result is a number consisting of 10
followed by 950 zeros. Inpractical mathematical terms, such a figure
represents "zero probability."
2. Irreducibly complex organs refute evolution.
Irreducible complexity is a characteristic that invalidates the
claim of gradual development that lies at the basis of the theory of
evolution. For example, there is irreducible complexity inthe eye and
in wings. It is impossible for the organelles that combine to make up
the eye, suchas the tear gland, the retina and iris to form
individually by chance. Because sight will only occur when all the
components of the eye are all perfectly formed. The same thing applies
to the wing.
3. The inconceivable amount of information in DNA repudiates chance.
The information concerning all characteristics, from a person's
physical appearance to the structure of their internal organs is
encoded by a special system in their DNA. If we were to try to put the
genetic information in DNA down on paper, we would need to createa
huge library of 900 volumes of 500 pages each. But this inconceivable
quantity of information is contained in those parts of DNA known as
"genes." And it is an absolute fact that DNA cannot emerge by chance.
4. The fossil record points to Creation.
Although some 100 million fossils belonging to 250,000 different
species have been unearthed, not even onesupports Darwinism. Each one
of the fossils discovered, belongs to fully formed and
flawlessorganisms. Were evolutionists' claims true, a large part out
of so many fossils should belong to "intermediate life forms," though
not asingle one actually does.
5. Life forms appeared suddenly in the Cambrian Period.
Nearly all the main physical structures in living things (categories
such as arthropods, chordates etc.) emerged in the Cambrian Period,
some 530 million years ago. While only 1 or 2 of these main categories
existed prior to the Cambrian, more than 50 emerged suddenly in
different parts of the world during the Cambrian Period. Pre-Cambrian
life forms have simpler structures, while those from the Cambrian are
incomparably more complex. For example, there is no difference between
the structure ofthe eye of the trilobite, which emerged during this
period, and that of eyes today.
6. "Living fossils" are a response to evolutionist myths.
Living fossils are striking proof that, totally demolish the
theory of evolution's claim of "gradual development." The reason why
they are known as "living fossils" is that despite being hundreds of
millions of years old, they are identical to specimens living today.
There are many specimens of living fossils, from ants to trees and
from bats tosharks. This is definitive evidence that no evolution ever
took place in the course of natural history.
7. Reptiles are not the ancestors of birds.
Evolutionists are no longer able to point to Archaeopteryx as an
intermediate form between reptiles and birds. Examinations of this
fossil shown that it is not a transitional form, and that it is an
extinct bird with a few different features to those of present-day
birds. The presence of a breastbone indicating powerful flight
muscles and an asymmetric feather structure identical to that in
modern-day birds show that the animal was ableto fly to perfection.
8. Fish did not emerge onto dry land.
Evolutionists used to point to the fish known as the Coelacanth
as evidence for the myth ofa transition from water to dry land. It
used to be thought that the Coelacanth represented an intermediate
form between fish and amphibians. However, a "living" specimen of a
Coelacanth was caught in the Indian Ocean in 1938. More than 200 other
specimens have been caught since. Examinations of living Coelacanths
revealed that it is a perfectly structured fish and that all the
previous conjectures about the fossils was mistaken.
9. Mutations do not form new species.
Mutations are breakages or dislocations occurring asa result of
radiation or chemical agents in the DNA molecule in the nucleus of the
living cell that carries genetic information. DNA has a highly
complex structure. Therefore, anyrandom change in the molecule will be
damaging to it. Mutations usually lead toirreparable damage and
deformity, and even to death. The people exposed to the disasters at
Hiroshima, Nagasaki or Chernobyl are living indications of this. The
claim that mutations are an evolutionary mechanism is proof of the
dead-end in which the theory of evolution finds itself.
10. Natural selection does not lead to evolution.
Natural selection is an expression of the survival of strong
living things best suited to their surroundings. But this does not
give rise to any new species. For example, in a herd of zebra under
threat from predators, those zebras able to run fast will survive and
the herd willeventually come to consist of fast-running individuals.
But this process is a limited one and cannot turn the zebra into any
other species. Because zebra have their own unique skeletal structure
and physiology recorded in their DNA, and the struggle against
predators cannot alter that information nor bestow any new genetic
information on the zebra.
11. Human beings never evolved, but were created as humans.
It has emerged that the human family tree is a diagram drawn up
solely in the light of evolutionists' imaginations. Evolutionists
maintainedthat human beings emerged gradually in the following line of
progression:"Australopithecines > Homo habilis > Homo erectus> Homo
sapiens" They sought to give the impression that each one of the life
forms in that list was the forerunner of the one after it. But the
discovery of these life forms, which evolutionists portray as one
another's ancestors, right beside one anotherhas demolished this
family tree. The latest discoveries by paleoanthropologists show that
Australopithecines, Homo habilis and Homo erectus existed at the same
time in different parts of the world.
12. Evolutionists resort to frauds.
Evolutionists also resort to frauds in order to "prove" their
theory. To date, there has been a great deal of such evolutionist
fraud as that in embryo drawingsand in fossils being hidden away or
destroyed. The most striking example is the Piltdown Man fraud.
It was suggested thata skull discovered in 1912 near Piltdown in
England belonged to an "ape-man." This fossil, the skull of which
exhibited human features and the jaw those of an orangutan, was
displayed in the famous British Museum for 40 years. However, it was
finally exposed as a forgery in 1953. The fossil had been produced by
evolutionists who combined a human skull and an orangutan jaw and used

Darwinism has been annihilated across the world
Darwinism has deceived the world for around a century and a half and
has attempted to indoctrinate people withmaterialist philosophy using
hoaxes and lies. HARUN YAHYA'S ATLAS OF CREATION HAS ANNOUNCEDTHE
DEMOLITION OF THIS FALSE THEORY , which for years convinced people
that life forms were descended, by chance, from other forms.
The Turkish public came to see this reality with enormous joy and
excitement, following which and by virtue of Atlas of Creation , the
people of Europe who had for so long been subjected to materialist and
Darwinist indoctrination, also came by the opportunityof seeing the
true facts. The way that all of Europe has become acquainted with
Atlas of Creation and the declaration of the fact that living
creatures have remained unchanged for millions of years and that
evolution is devoid of any scientific worth have led to a major change
of belief among the people of Europe. Independent polls conducted by
well-known publishing institutions in different European countries
haverevealed a major drop inthe numbers of people believing in
Darwinism and that belief in Allah now dominates Europe.
Some survey findings from across Europe are:
FRANCE/ Science Actualités / 16 February 2007

Following the major impact of the distribution of Atlas of Creation in
France, the French website Science Actualités carried out a public
opinion poll. The results of the survey showed that Darwinism has been
annihilated in France. According to the findings, set out under the
caption "Your Views on Evolution," revealed that 92% of the public no
longer believe in evolution.
GERMANY / Die Welt / 17 April 2008
Darwinism has also beendemolished in Germany, which now says, "Allah
Created Life."

Think That Human Beings Are Descended from Apes?", 88% of the Danish
public answered "No."

The level of people believing in the fact of Creation stood at 85% in
a poll conducted on the web site of Blick, one of Switzerland's
widest-read newspapers.

What the findings of the polls, a few of which are cited above, make
crystal clear is this: ATLAS OF CREATION HAS HAD AN EXPLOSIVE IMPACT
ON THE ENTIRE WORLD .
In the face of the scientific evidence people have now abandoned
belief in the fraud of evolution. They now realize that Darwinism is a
deception being kept alive for ideological reasons.
In the wake of the facts set out in Atlas of Creation, people have now
come to see that all living creatures are brought into being by the
will and at the command of our Lord, Allah. That is what the poll
results show.
DARWINISM HAS BEEN ANNIHILATED AND DEMOLISHED ACROSS THE WHOLE WORLD,
BEFORE THE VERY EYES OF THE LOYAL ADHERENTS OF MATERIALIST PHILOSOPHY.
The level of people believing in the fact of Creation stood at 85% in
a poll conducted on the web site of Blick, one of Switzerland's
widest-read newspapers.
According to a poll regarding whether or not evolution actually
happened that appearedon the web site of Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of
Germany's main dailies, the level of thosebelieving that human beings
are the work of aCreator stands at 87%.
The German daily Die Welt, one of the countries most important
publications, conducted a poll about Creation on its website.
Eighty-six percent of the participants responded to the question "How
do you think life came into being?" by saying "Allah created it." -

The appearance of the angels that will be alongside Hazrat Mahdi (as) is something that will take place in the spiritual world alone, and will therefore be visible only to the angels

To suggest that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be a mostextraordinary person
and that he will be recognized as soon as heappears is a claim that
conflicts totally with the hadith of our Prophet (saas) and with the
law of Allah. According to some people who insist on making such a
claim, tanks, shells and even atom bombs will have no effect on Hazrat
Mahdi (as). In addition, they say that when people look above Hazrat
Mahdi's (as) head they will see angels on a cloud, and these will
constantly point Hazrat Mahdi (as) out to people. The fact is, however,
that THE HADITH OF OUR PROPHET (SAAS) SAY THAT THE GREAT MAHDI OF THE
END TIMES WILL BE SUBJECTED TO PRESSURE, DURESS AND OPPRESSION FROM
THE SYSTEM OF THE DAJJAL, THAT HE WILL BE IMPRISONED AND LIVE WITH THE
THREAT OF DEATH, THAT HIS HANDS AND FEET WILL BE CHAINED, THAT A
COPPER TABLET WILL BE HUNG AROUND HIS NECK, THAT HE WILL BE ABANDONED
TO SUFFERING AND TROUBLE AND THAT HE WILL BE ISOLATED.
It is also perfectly apparent from the hadith of our Prophet (saas)
that there will be angels alongside Hazrat Mahdi (as) and that these
angels will help him.
HAZRAT JIBRIL (AS) AND HAZRAT MIKHAIL (AS) AND FORTY-SIX THOUSAND
(46,000) ANGELS WILL BE IMAM MAHDI'S [HAZRAT MAHDI'S (AS)] HELPERS AND
COMPANIONS.1

HOWEVER , THE APPEARANCE OF THE ANGELS THAT WILL BE ALONGSIDE HAZRAT
MAHDI(AS) IS SOMETHING THAT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE SPIRITUAL WORLD
ALONE, AND WILL THEREFORE BE VISIBLE ONLY TO THE ANGELS.
If, as some people maintain, Hazrat Mahdi (as) were an extraordinary
entity with angels visible around his head and immune to guns, tanks
and shells, then how canhe be imprisoned, tortured and persecuted, and
live in great difficulty? How can anyone imprison or mistreat someone
who isinvulnerable to guns andbombs? In addition, our Prophet (saas)
says therewill be a time when Hazrat Mahdi (as) disappears from sight.
If,as they maintain, Hazrat Mahdi (as) were an extraordinary person,
why would he feel the need to hide away and live out of sight?
The hadith of our Prophet (saas) compare Hazrat Mahdi (as) to the
Prophet Yusuf (as) with regard to the way that he will live hidden
from sight and be imprisoned, and to the Prophet Musa (as) with regard
to the way that he will face intense dangers and live with the threat
of death, plots, arrest, detention and exile.
Imam Zayn al-Abidin stated: "There are some similarities between our
Qaim [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] and Allah's messengers. He has similarities
to each one of prophet Nuh(as), Ibrahim (as), Musa (as), Isa (as),
Ayyub (as) and Muhammad (saas). He has similarity to NUH (as) in
having a long life;to IBRAHIM (as) in havinghis birth being hidden and
his staying away from the public; TO MUSA (AS) IN HIS STATE OF FEAR
(THE INTENSITY OF DANGERS DIRECTED TO HAZRAT MAHDI (AS); HIS BEING
FACE TO FACE TO ALLKINDS OF DANGER LIKE MURDER, PLOTTING, ARREST,
TAKING INTO CUSTODY AND EXILE) AND HIS CONSTANTLY SPENDING HIS LIFE
HIDING ; to ISA (as) in people being in conflict about him (some
people will say Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come while others will say he
will not); to AYYUB (as) in being delivered to salvation after trouble
(Hazrat Mahdi (as) will also suffer many difficulties, diseases and
trouble; however just like Prophet Ayyub (as) he will be saved by
Allah's mercy); to Muhammad (saas) in his standing up with his sword
[our Prophet's (saas) holy relics like his holy standard, sword and
cardigan will be with Hazrat Mahdi (as)].
(Qamal al-Din, p. 322, Section 31, Hadith number 3)
Sadr al-Sayrafi says: I heard Imam Abu Abdullah Jaffar al-Sadiq say:
He said: "THE OWNER OF THIS TASK [THE HAZRATMAHDI (AS)] WILL HAVE A
RESEMBLENCE TO YUSUF (AS)]." AND I SAID: "IT IS AS IF YOU ARE TELLING
US OF A DISAPPEARANCE OR ASTONISHMENT."
(Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Nomani, al-Ghaybah al-Nomani p.189)
Abu Bashir says: I heard Imam Muhammad Baqr (as) say: "HE WHO
POSSESSES THIS OCCULTATION [HAZRAT MAHDI (AS)] WILL HAVE THE SUNNA OF
FOUR PROPHETS. ONE SUNNA FROM THE PROPHET MUSA, ONE FROM THE PROPHET
'ISA (AS), ONE FROM THE PROPHET YUSUF (AS) AND ONE FROM THE PROPHET
MUHAMMAD (SAAS), may the peace of Allah be upon them all.
I SAID: WHAT IS THE SUNNA OF MUSA (AS)? HE SAID: TO WITHDRAW AND HIDE
AWAY . I SAID: WHAT IS THE SUNNA OF 'ISA (AS)? AND HE SAID: WHAT IS
SAID ABOUT 'ISA (AS) WILLALSO BE SAID ABOUT HIM . I SAID, WHAT IS THE
SUNNA OF YUSUF (AS)? AND HE SAID: IMPRISONMENT AND OCCULTATION . I
SAID, WHAT IS THE SUNNA OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAAS)? HE SAID: HE
WILL FOLLOW IN THE PATH OF THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH WHEN HE APPEARS .
ONLY HE WILL ELUCIDATE THE WORKS OF THE MESSENGEROF ALLAH... I said:
How will he know Allah's approval? And he said:"Allah will manifest
His mercy in his heart."
(Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Nomani, al-Ghaybah al-Nomani, p. 191)
Our Prophet (saas) even received a sword blow and one of his teeth
wasbroken. Many prophets were martyred on Allah'spath, many companions
and members of the Ahl al-Bayt were martyred on the field of battle or
else lost hands, or eyes or other parts of their bodies. SINCE NONE OF
THE PROPHETS HAVE BEEN SENT WITH SUCH EXTRAORDINARY ATTRIBUTES IT IS
IMPOSSIBLE TO CLAIM THAT HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WILL BE SENT WITH SUCH
WONDROUS ATTRIBUTES.
Allah reveals in the Qur'an that some people from the tribe of our
Prophet (saas) claimed that an angel should come down as proof that
the Prophet Muhammad (saas) was actually a prophet. After that, He
reveals that our Prophet (saas) was simply a human being sent as a
warner, a messenger:
Perhaps you are leaving aside part of what has been revealed to you
and your breast is constricted by this because they say, "Why has
treasure not been sent down to him OR AN ANGEL NOT ACCOMPANIED HIM?"
You are only a warner and Allah is Guardian over all things. (Surah
Hud, 12)
In another verse it is revealed that people who denied the prophets
generally demand to see angels as a condition of belief:
Why do you not BRING ANGELS TO US if you are telling the truth?' The
angels only descend with the truth and then they would be granted no
reprieve. (Surat al-Hijr, 7-8)
Allah also reveals in verses of the Qur'an that everyone will have
recording angels on either side of them. IN THE SAME WAY THAT NOBODY
IN THE LIFE OF THIS WORLD CAN SEE THE RECORDING ANGELS ON EITHER SIDE
OF PEOPLE, IF JIBRIL (AS) WHO FREQUENTLY BRINGS REVELATIONS COME
WITHOUT BEING SEEN TO PEOPLE, THEN JIBRIL (AS) AND MIKHAIL (AS) AND
THE46,000 OTHER ANGEL HELPERS ALONGSIDE HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WILL NOT BE
VISIBLE, EITHER.
One hadith narrated from our Prophet (saas) says that an angel that
will help Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be invisible even to him:
He [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] will follow in the footsteps of our Prophet
(saas). THERE WILL BE AN ANGEL WHO HELPS HIM WITHOUT BEING SEEN. He
will restore the weary and help the weak.
(Futuhat Al Makiyya of Ibn Arabi, Ch. 366)

Fathwa, - Hadeeth about offering advice to the ruler

Question
you have mentioned this hadith and i want it reference and
authenticity . the hadith is "Sa'eed ibn Jubayr once asked Ibn 'Abbaas
both, whether or not he was obligated to enjoin the ruler to do what
is good, and forbid him from doing what is evil. Ibn 'Abbaas both,
answered that if he feared he would be killed, he was not obliged to
do so. Ibn Jubayr repeated the same question thrice andevery time Ibn
'Abbaas' answer was the same, but he added that if it was inevitable,
he shouldadvise him privately."
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
This Hadeeth was reported by Sa'eed ibn Mansoor in his Sunan andby
Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab Al-Eemaan , and by Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah in
his Musannaf but with the wording: "…..a man said to Ibn 'Abbaas
…...". We have not come across any scholar who either classified it as
Saheeh (sound) or as Dha'eef (weak).
However, many scholars tend to provide it as evidence and this
suggests that it is authentic according to them, or that the wording
that it contains is confirmed in other authentic Ahaadeeth, likethe
one reported by Ibn Abi 'Aasim in his book entitled "As-Sunnah" from
'Iyaadh ibn Ghanm that the Prophet said: ''Whoever wants to give
advice to the Sultan (leader/ruler), he should not do that in public
but he should take him by the hand and go into seclusion with him. If
the ruler accepts his advice, then that is good and thisis what is
required, and ifnot, he (the adviser) has fulfilled his obligation. "

Fathwa, - Specifying an hour and fifteen minutes as a time gap between Maghrib and ‘Ishaa'

Question
We live in a Muslim-majority city in which there are five mosques.
Some of these mosques proclaim the Athaan (i.e. call to prayer),
especially the 'Ishaa' Athaan, according to Al-Aqsa prayer times while
the other mosques raise the Athaan an hour and fifteen minutes after
the Maghrib prayer. This means that there is a time gap between the
Athaans of the city's mosques of 20-25 minutes and this incurs
inconvenience and confusion among people. This is especially the case
in our old mosque wherethe Mu'ath-thin (i.e. callerto prayer) insists
on non-compliance with Al-Aqsa prayer times like the rest of the
mosques under the pretext that hehas been calling the Athaan at that
time throughout the years (and is not willing to change it). Please
note that we know that the accurate time of the 'Ishaa' prayer is when
theold mosque's Mu'ath-thincalls the Athaan (and not like the rest of
the mosques), but we only seek to maintain order and avoid any Fitnah
anddiscord among Muslims in the city's various mosques. Please advise
us in this regard and we will print your Fatwa anddistribute it in the
five mosques in our city, Tamra.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
The time of the 'Ishaa' prayer begins when the red twilight disappears
from the sky. 'Adullaah ibn 'Amr ibn Al-'Aas reported that the Prophet
, said: " The time for Maghrib lasts until the twilight has faded and
the time for 'Ishaa' lasts until midnight. " [Muslim]
Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet , said: " The time for Maghrib
starts with sunset and lasts until the twilight has faded. The time
for 'Ishaa' starts when the twilight has faded and lasts until
midnight. " [At-Tirmithi]
The time interval between Maghrib and 'Ishaa' differs according to
various seasons. It maybe long or short, approximately an hour and
fifteen minutes to anhour and thirty-five minutes.
The criterion here is the visual sighting. Whenever the red twilight
fades away, the time of Maghrib elapses and the 'Ishaa' prayer becomes
due. There is noharm in adopting specificprayer times as long as you
are sure of their accuracy.
Moreover, there is no harm in adopting Al-Aqsaprayer timings if they
areproven to be accurate and as long as your city and Al-Aqsa share
the same sunset time. You should not calculate the 'Ishaa' prayer's
time by simply performing the prayer after the passage of an hour and
fifteen minutes after the Maghrib prayer all year long. The time gap
between the Maghrib and 'Ishaa' times differs for various seasons, as
stated above.
At the same time, Muslimsshould be keen to foster unity, brotherly
love exchange sincere advice and denounce blindly following the
habits if they contradict the Islamic Sharee'ah and incur nurturing
discord and disunity among Muslims.
It is unbecoming of Muslims, especially if theylive in one country, to
raise the Athaan for the same prayer in the city's mosques with such a
long time interval (i.e. 20-25 minutes)!
This incurs confusion andinconvenience, especiallyfor women and those
who are exempted from performing the congregational prayer at the
mosque (due to a valid Sharee`ah-acceptable excuse).
Instead, they should all agree on one time to proclaim the 'Ishaa'
Athaan in all the mosquesof the city; let it be at the beginning time
of 'Ishaa' so as to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet so as to avail of
the most primary function of the Athaan (i.e. reminding people that
the prayer is due).
Ibn Qudaamah said in Al-Mughni, " It is recommended to proclaim the
Athaan at the prayer's beginning time in order to remind people of its
due time so that they can get ready to perform the prayer. Jaabir ibn
Samurah said that Bilaal never delayed the Athaan (fromthe prayers'
beginning times ). "
Hence, competent scholars and experts should be consulted to verify
that Al-Aqsa prayer times are accurate. If they were found accurate
and corresponded with your city's prayer times (and the sunset time in
Al-Aqsais identical to that of your city), they should beset as
standard and be adopted by all the mosques in the city. If not, then
each Mu'ath-thin should strive to make the visual sighting of the red
twilight as it fades away or adopt approximate prayer times.

Fathwa, - Supplication after Athaanand Iqaamah

Question
Should the reported supplication of Al-Waseelah (i.e. the highest rank
in Paradise) and Al-Fadheelah (i.e. Superiority) for the Prophet , be
recited after the Athaan, Iqaamah or both? What isthe ruling on this
matter according to the four schools of Fiqh?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis slave and Messenger.
Asking Allaah The Exalted to Grant the Prophet , Al-Waseelah and
Al-Fadheelah after the Athaan is required and recommended. Jaabir
ibn'Abdullaah reported that the Prophet , said:" Whoever says (after)
hearing the Athaan, 'Allahumma Rabba hathihi Ad-Da'wati At-Taammah wa
As-Salaati Al-Qaa'imah, aati Muhammadan Al-Waseelata wa Al-Fadheelah,
wab'ath-huMaqaaman Mahmoodan Al-lathi Wa'adtah.' (O Allaah, Lord of
this perfect call (i.e. Monotheism) and of the current prayer (which
is about to start) Grant Muhammad Al-Waseelah and superior status over
all creatures and raise him to the station of praise and glory (i.e.
the highest degree in Paradise) that You Promised him)', then
intercession for me will be permitted for him on the Day of
Resurrection. " [Al-Bukhaari and others]
' Abdullaah ibn 'Amr reported that the Prophet , said: " When you hear
the Athaan, repeat what the Mu'ath-thin says. Then ask Allaah The
Exalted to Exalt my mention because everyone who does so will receive
in return ten rewards from Allaah. Then beseech Allaah to Grant me
Al-Waseelah, which is a high rank in Paradise. " [Muslim and others]
These narrations underline the permissibility of asking Allaah The
Exalted to Grant the Prophet , Al-Waseelah and superiorstatus over all
creatures after the Athaan and the Iqaamah as well; as both of them
are considered a call to prayer.
As for the different opinions in the four schools of Fiqh, they did
not differ about the permissibility of making this supplication after
theAthaan; due to the many clear narrations that were reported in this
regard.
As for making this supplication after the Iqaamah, what is apparently
deduced fromthe statements of the Hanafi, Shaafi'i and Hanbali schools
of Fiqh is that what is required of one who listens to the Athaan is
no different than what is required of one who listens to the Iqaamah.
Concerning the Maaliki school of Fiqh, wecould not find a stated
opinion for it with regards to the Iqaamah.
Allaah Knows best.

The rights of the husbandupon the wife

The rights of the husband upon his wife are greater than the rights of
the wife upon her husband for the simple reason that Allaah, the
Almighty, stated in the Glorious Quran what means: "…And due to the
wives issimilar to what is expected of them, according to what is
reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and
authority]. AndAllaah is Exalted in Might and Wise." [Quran 2: 228]
Man is the caretaker of his wife and household. He is responsible for
all her affairs. He is responsible for training, directionand
discipline if needed. Allaah Almighty Says what means: "Men are in
charge of women by [right of] what Allaah has given one over the other
and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth…" [Quran 4:34]
It is an essential right of man over his wife to be obeyed so long as
his commands do not conflict or contradict the commands of Allaah, the
Almighty, Allaah's Messenger and the general teachings and codes of
ethics of Islam.
Allaah Almighty Says in the same verse mentioned above (what means):
"...But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them.
Indeed, Allaah is ever Exalted and Grand.." [Quran 4:34]
A Muslim wife must protect her husband's secrets, privacies, honor and
dignity. She also must protect his wealth, children, finance,
belongings and other aspects of his household, as much as possible.
Allaah Almighty Says in the same verse (what means): "...So righteous
women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what
Allaah would have them guard..." [Quran4:34]
Allaah's Messenger said: "The wife is the guardian over the house of
her husband and his children." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
And, "If I were to command a single person to bow in prostration to
another person, I could have commanded a womanto bow down (in
obedience and respect, not in worship) to her husband." [Abu Daawood]
Allaah's Messenger also said: "If a husband calls his wife to his bed,
but the latter refused to fulfill the call (for any reason other than
a lawful one), which drives the man to become upset with his wife,
then angels will curse such a wife until she gets up in the morning."
[Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
He furthermore, said: "Their (husbands') rights over you (wives) is
that you do not allow anyone whom they dislike onto your bedding and
you do not allow anyone whom they dislike into your house."
[At-Tirmithi]
The wife must not leave the house except with her husband's permission
and approval. She must also lower her gaze, keep her voice low, keep
her hands from reaching out to anything evil and keep her tongue from
any lewd or foul speech. She also must not harm his parents or near
relatives.
This is because Allaah Almighty has said (what means): "And abide in
your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the
former times of ignorance...." [Quran 33:33]
Allaah Almighty also has said (what means): "...Do not be soft in
speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but
speak with appropriate speech." [Quran 33:32]
In another verse, Allaah Sayas (what means): "And tell the believing
women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts
and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears
thereof..." [Quran 24:31]
Allaah's Messenger said: "The best woman is the one who when you look
at her, you are pleased; when you order her, she obeys; if you are
absent from her,she guards herself and your property." [At-Tabarani]
An other right of the husband over his wife is that the husband may
ask his wife not do something, including, but not limited to voluntary
acts of worship, other than obligatory, which cause her to lessen the
time that her husband may have to enjoy her.
Allaah's Messenger stated: "A wife is not allowed to observe fast
(other than fasting in the month of Ramadhaan, the prescribed, unless
she has his permission. She may not allow any one to come into his
house, unless he permits." [At-Tirmithi]
Moreover, Allaah's Messenger placed the satisfaction and pleasure of a
husband to be one of the reasons to enable the wife to enter Paradise.
At-Tirmithi reported from Umm Salamah, the mother of the believers
that Allaah's Messenger said: "Any woman whose husband dies while he
is pleased, happy and satisfied withher (acts, attitudes and behavior)
will enter Jannah (Paradise)."
These are but few items of the many rights that Islam, the religion of
truth, imposes upon those who commit themselves tofollow and practice
it as a way of life. We vividly see that such rights, if maintained
properly, will lead a society to peace, happiness and tranquility.
A husband becomes caring, affectionate, loving and responsible, yet
directing and capable of discipline when needed to improve a
troublesome situation, regardless of his tender care and love for his
wife, so that vise and wickedness will not spread in thesociety.
A wife becomes more respected, adored, cared for, highly needed and
appreciated if she respects the rights of her husband, and equally
given the rights she is entitled for by Islam.
In such a coherent way, the religion of truth, goodness, justice,
equity, and all fairness coincide with basic requirements of life
including harmony between all the members of the society, especially
between the husband and the wife . - - ▓███▓ Translator:->

Sa’d Ibn Abi Waqqaas

We are now in a small town in a narrow valley. There is no vegetation,
no livestock, no gardens, and no rivers. Desert after desert separates
the town from the rest of the world. During the day, the heat of the
sun is unbearable and the nights are still and lonely. Tribes flock
toit like animals in the open country flock to a waterhole. No
government rules and there is no religion to guide people, except one
which promotes the worship of stone idols. There is no knowledge
except that which is confined to priests and soothsayers, and a love
for elegant poetry. This is Makkah and these are the Arabs.
In this town lives a young man who has not yet seen twenty summers. He
is short, well built, and has a very heavy crop of hair. People
compare him to a young lion. He comes from a rich and noble family. He
is very attached to his parents and is particularly fond of his
mother. His name is Sa'd Ibn Abi Waqqaas .
One morning at about this time in his life, Abu Bakr came up and spoke
softly to him. He explained that Muhammad Ibn 'Abdullaah had received
Revelation and was sent with thereligion of guidance and truth. Abu
Bakr then took him to Prophet Muhammad in one ofthe valleys of Makkah.
Sa'd was excited and overwhelmed, and responded readily to the
invitation to the truth and the religion of One God. The Prophet was
also greatly pleased when Sa'd became a Muslim.
While the Prophet was delighted with Sa'd's acceptance of Islam,
others including his mother were not. Sa'd relates: "When my mother
heard the news of my acceptance of Islam, she flew into a rage. She
came up to me and said: "'O Sa'd !What is this religion that you have
embraced, which has taken you away from the religion of your mother
and father? By God, either you forsake your new religion, or I would
not eat or drink until I die. Your heart would be broken with grief
for me, and remorse would consumeyou on account of the deed which you
have done, and peoplewould censure you forever more.'"'Do not do (such
a thing), my mother,' I said, 'for I would not give up my religion for
anything.'"
However, she went on with her threat. For days, she neither ate nor
drank and became emaciatedand weak. Hour after hour, I went to her
asking whether I should bring her some food or something to drink, but
she persistently refused, insisting that she would neither eat nor
drink until she died or I abandoned my religion. I said to her: "'Yaa
Ummah! (O mother) In spite of my strong love for you, my love for
Allaah and His Messenger is indeed stronger.By Allaah, if you had a
thousand souls and one soul after another were to depart, I would not
abandon my religion for anything.'
When she saw that I was determined she relented unwillingly and ate and drank."
It was concerning Sa'd 's relationship with his mother and her attempt
to force him to renounce his faith that the wordsof the
Quran were revealed (which mean):
"And We have enjoined upon man (care) for his parents. His mother
carried him, (increasing her) in weakness upon weakness, and his
weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me
is the (final) destination. But if they endeavor to make you associate
with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but
accompany them in (this) world with appropriate kindness and follow
the way of those who turn back to me (in repentance). Then to Me will
be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do."
[Quran 31:14-15]
In these early days of Islam, the Muslims were careful not to arouse
the sensibilities of the Quraysh. They would often go outtogether in
groups to the glens outside Makkah where they couldpray together
without being seen. However, one day, a number of idolaters came upon
them while they were praying and rudely interrupted them withridicule.
The Muslims felt they could not suffer these indignities passively and
they came to blowswith the idolaters. Sa'd Ibn Abi Waqqaas struck one
of the disbelievers with the jawbone of a camel and wounded him. This
was the first bloodshed in the conflict between Islam and Kufr
(disbelief) -- a conflict that was later to escalate and test the
patience and courage of the Muslims.
Sa'd was a cousin of AaminahBint Wahb, and thus a maternal uncle of
our Prophet . Sa'd belonged to Bani Zuhrah, andfor this reason, he is
sometimes referred to as Sa'd of Zuhrah, to distinguish him from
several others whose first name was Sa'd. The Prophet is said to have
been pleased with this family relationship to Sa'd . Once as he was
sitting with his Companions, he saw Sa'd approaching him and said:
"This is my maternal uncle. Let a man see his maternal uncle!" (Make
way for my uncle.)
Sa'd distinguished himself in many encounters that took place during
the life of the Prophet and after. Sa'd is known as the first
Companion to have shot an arrow in the defense of Islam. During the
Battle of Badr, Sa'd fought alongside his brother 'Umayr . 'Umayr was
a mere lad in his early teens, and had begged to be allowed to
accompany the Muslim army. Sa'dreturned alone to Al-Madeenah, for
`Umayr was one among the fourteen Muslim martyrs who fellthat day.
At the Battle of Uhud, Sa'd was especially chosen as one of the best
archers along with Zayd and Sa'ib . In that landmark battle, when the
Muslim archers kept in reserve abandoned their positions in the
eagerness for booty, Sa'd remained steadfast, and fought vigorously in
defense of the Prophet . To urge him during these perilous moments,
the Prophet said:"Shoot, Sa'd … May my father and mother be sacrificed
for you!"
On this occasion, 'Ali Ibn Abi Taalib said that he had not heard the
Prophet promising such a great ransom to anyone except Sa'd . The
Prophet is also known to have prayed for Sa'd: "O Lord, direct his
aim and respond to his prayer."
Sa'd was one of the companions of the Prophet who was blessed with
great wealth. Just as he was known forhis bravery, so he was known for
his generosity. Sa'd is mainly renowned as the commander-in-chief of
the strong Muslim army which 'Umar dispatchedto confront the Persians
at Qaadisiyah. 'Umar wanted nothing less than an end to Sasanian power
which for centuries had dominated the region.
Just how ferocious the battle was, could be imagined when it is known
that some 30,000 persons on both sides fell in the course of four
days' fighting. In one day alone, some 2000 Muslims and about 10,000
Persians lost their lives.
The Battle of Qaadisiyah is one of the major decisive battles of world
history. It sealed the fate of the Sasanian Empire, just as the Battle
of Yarmook had sealed the fate of the Byzantine Empire in the West.
Two years after Qaadisiyah, Sa'd went on to take the Sasanian capital.
The taking of Ctesiphon was accomplished after a brilliant crossing of
the Tigris River while it was in flood. Sa'd has thus gone down in the
annals of history as the hero of Qaadisiyah and the conqueror of
Ctesiphon .
He lived until he was almost 80 years old. He was blessed with much
influence and wealth but as the time of death approached in the year
54 AH, he asked his son to open a box in which he had kept a coarse
woolen shirt (Jubbah) and said:
"Shroud me in this, for in this (Jubbah) I met the polytheists on the
day of Badr and in it I desire to meet Allaah the Almighty." - -

Ibn Khaldoon: the founding father of sociology

Ibn Khaldoon was born in Tunisiain 732 A.H. to a fairly well-to-do
family who had earlier migrated from Seville in Muslim Spain. His
lineage goes to Yemen which land our hero's family had left in the
company of the army that conquered Spain.
During his childhood in Tunis, IbnKhaldoon must have had his share in
his family's active participation in the intellectual life of the
city, and to a lesser degree, its political life, the household in
which Ibn Khaldoonwas raised was frequented by thepolitical and
intellectual leaders of Western Islam (i.e. North Africaand Spain),
many of whom took refuge there and were protected against angry
rulers.
Ibn Khaldoon led a very active political life before he decided to
write his well-known masterpiece on history. He worked for rulers in
Tunis and Fez (in Morocco), Granada (in Muslim Spain) and Baja (in
Tunisia) successively. At the age of forty-three, Ibn Khaldoon finally
succeeded in crossing over once more to Muslim Spain, not with
ambitious designs of his youth, but as a tired and embittered man with
no purposesave escaping the turmoil of North Africa." Unfortunately,
the ruler of Granada caused Ibn Khaldoon's friend, Ibn Al-Khateeb, to
flee to North Africa. When he learnt of Ibn Khaldoon's attempts to
help his friend, he was expelled from Granada. So he went back to
North Africa to spend four years in seclusion to do some thinking in
peace.
Intellectually, Ibn Khaldoon was well-educated, having studied (in
Tunis first and Fez later) the Quran, Prophet Muhammad's Ahadeeth and
other branches of Islamic studies such as dialecticaltheology,
Shari'ah (Islamic Law orJurisprudence, according to the Maliki
School). He also studied Arabic literature, philosophy, mathematics
and astronomy. Butwe can safely say that Ibn Khaldoon learnt very much
from the school of life in which he actively participated, moving from
place to place and from oneroyal court to another, sometimes at his
own will, but often forced to do so by plotting rivals or despotic
rulers.
Ibn Khaldoon learnt much from his meetings with all sorts of rulers,
ambassadors, politicians and scholars, he came in contact with in
North Africa, Muslim Spain, Egypt and other parts of the Muslim World.
All of these circumstances and experiences seem to have contributed to
the formation of his views on history, culture and society, neatly
expressed in his book on history and concisely summed up in his
well-known master-piece"Al-Muqaddimah ('Prologue')."
The revolutionary views of Ibn Khaldoon have always attracted not only
Arab scholars' attention but the attention of many a Western thinker
as well. In his study of history Ibn Khaldoon was a pioneer in
subjecting historical reports to the two basic criteria of (1) reason
and (2)social and physical laws. He considered the following four
points worthy of consideration instudying and analyzing historical
reports:
1. Relating events to each other through cause and effect.
2. Drawing analogy between the past and the present.
3. Taking into consideration the effect of the environment.
4. Taking into consideration the effect of inherited and economic conditions.
But Ibn Khaldoon's work was more than a critical study of history. It
was, in fact, a study of human civilization in general, its beginning,
factors contributing to its development, and the causes of its
decline. Thus, unwittingly, Ibn Khaldoon founded a new science: the
science of social development or sociology, as we call it today.
"I have written on history a book in which I discussed the causes and
effects of the development ofstates and civilizations, and I followed
in arranging the material of the book an unfamiliar method, and I
followed in writing it a strange and innovative way." These are the
words of Ibn Khaldoon indicating the new interesting method he
followed in the study of history, whereby he created, ineffect two new
sciences: Historiology and Sociology at the same time.
Due to his emphasis on reason and its necessity in judging history and
social events, it has been claimed that Ibn Khaldoon tried to refute
conventional religious knowledge and substitute it with reason and
rational philosophy. The claim is founded on a false premise or
assumption, i.e. that religion and reason are necessarily in conflict
with each other. Naturally, it is true that some religions do
teachthings which are irrational in nature. But this is certainly not
true of Islam which has always encouraged observation and thinking and
condemned the non-believers for not using their reason and thinking.
There are many verses in the Qur'an to this effect.
The close relationship between Ibn Khaldoon's views and Islam are
clearly seen in his remarks on the role of religion in unifying
theArabs and bringing progress and development to their society. We
also see that connection in his opinion on the close affinity between
religion and the state, pointing out that injustice and despotism are
clear signs of the downfall of the state. On philosophy, Ibn Khaldoon
points out that metaphysical philosophyhas one advantage only, which
is to sharpen one's wits. For knowledge of the metaphysical world,
especially in matters of belief, can only be derived from the divine
revelation, i.e. the Quran and the Sunnah.
In education, Ibn Khaldoon was apioneer when he remarked that
suppression and use of force are enemies to learning, and that they
lead to laziness, lying and hypocrisy. He also pointed out to the
necessity of good models andpractice for the command of good
linguistic habits.
Because the era of Ibn Khaldoon was an age of decline for Muslim
civilization, and most of the efforts of scholarship were directed to
collecting, summarizing and memorization of the body of knowledge left
by the ancestors, he severely attacked those unhealthy practices that
led to stagnation and to the stifling of creativity onthe part of
Muslim scholars.
But if Ibn Khaldoon made some interesting contribution to education,
he certainly made a major and pioneering contribution in the fields of
sociological and historical studies. For it was he who pointed to the
necessity of subjecting both social and historical phenomena to
scientific objective analysis. He noted that those phenomena were not
the outcome of chance, but were rather controlled by laws that had to
be discovered and applied in our study of society, civilization and
history. Historians, he remarked, committed errors in their study of
historical events, due to three major factors:
(1) Their ignorance of the naturesof civilization and peoples, (2)
their bias and prejudice and (3) their blind acceptance of reports
given by others.
Ibn Khaldoon pointed out that true progress and development comes
through correct understanding of history, and thelatter can only be
achieved by observing the following:
1) Absolute objectivity, which means that the historian should not be
in any way show prejudicefor or against anyone or any idea.
2) Confirmation and scrutiny of reported information. One shouldlearn
all one can about the historians whose reports one hears or reads. One
should check their morals and trustworthinessbefore accepting their
reports.
3) Not limiting history to the study of political and military news or
to news about rulers and states. For history should include the study
of all social, religious and economic conditions.
These were but a few of the many interesting views left by Ibn
Khaldoon in his famous Al-Muqaddimah ('Prologue') and his book on
history, two masterpieces that have left clear marks on human thought
and its development.

Sacrifices, - One sacrifice is sufficient on behalf of the members of a householdeven if they are one hundred strong.

Is one sacrifice sufficienton behalf of all the members of a
household, even if they are many?.
Praise be to Allaah.
One sacrifice is sufficienton behalf of all the members of a
household, no matter how many of them thereare.
Al-Tirmidhi (1505) narrated that 'Ata' ibn Yassaar said: I asked Abu
Ayyoob: How was the sacrifice done at the time of the Messenger
ofAllaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? He said: A man
would offer a sheepon behalf of himself and the members of his family,
and they would eat some and feed others with some." Classed as saheeh
by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
It says in Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi:
This hadeeth clearly states that a single sheepis sufficient on behalf
of a man and the members of his household, even if they are many, and
that is correct.
Al-Haafiz ibn al-Qayyim said in Zaad al-Ma'aad: The teaching of the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was that a sheep
is sufficient on behalf of a man and the members of his household,
even if they are many in number.
Al-Shawkaani said in Nayl al-Awtaar: In fact a single sheep is
sufficient on behalf of the members of a household, even if there are
one hundred or more, as is indicated by the Sunnah. End quote.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen said in al-Sharh al-Mumti' (5/275):
There is no limit to how many people may share in the reward. The
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) offered a
sacrifice on behalf of his entire ummah, and a man may offer a single
sheep on behalf of himself and the members of his household, even if
they are one hundred strong. End quote.
The Standing Committee was asked: There are twenty-two people in this
family, and they have one income and one budget. On Eid al-Adha they
offer a single sacrifice, and I do not know whether that is sufficient
or whether they should offer two sacrifices?
They replied:
If the family is big but they live in one house, one sacrifice is
sufficientfor them, but if they offer more than one sacrifice, that is
better. End quote.

Sacrifices, - Selling a sacrificial animal, and the acceptable age for an animal for ‘aqeeqah.

1. can anyone distribute money by selling a goat that was offered to
be slaughtered in the name of Allah for family welfare.
2. can a goat less than one year of age is acceptable for Aqeeka (for
new born baby two for boy, 0ne for girl).
these are needed please do reply these questions.
Praise be to Allaah.
It is not permissible to sell part of the sacrificial animal or
udhiyah, or to sell all of it, except in cases where it is done in
accordance with the purpose of the sacrifice, because what a person
has given to Allaah cannot be sold at all.
It says in al-Mughni: It is not permissible to sell any part of it –
i.e., the sacrificial animal – but if the butcher is poor and he gives
him something because he is poor, in addition to the wages that he
gives him, that is permissible, because he is entitled to take some of
it because of being poor, not as payment forhis work. End quote
(3/222)
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen said: It is haraam to sell any part of the
udhiyah, whether the meat or anything else, even the skin. The butcher
should not be given anything from it in partial payment for his work,
because that is like selling. (Risaalah Ahkaam al-Hadiy wa'l-Udhiyah)
And he (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: It is not permissible to
dispose of it – i.e., the udhiyah – in ways that would prevent going
ahead with the sacrifice, such as selling, giving away, giving as a
pledgeand so on, unless he replaces it with something that serves the
purpose pf sacrifice better, not for his own ends. If he selects a
sheep for sacrifice then he decides that he wantsto keep it for some
reason and replaces it with one that is better so that he can keep it,
that is not permissible, because he is taking back something that he
had set aside for Allaah for his own ends and notfor serving the
purpose of sacrifice in a better way.
With regard to rams, which are male sheep, the ram should have reached
the age of one year in order for it to be permissible as a sacrifice,
but the Sunnahshows that it is permissible to sacrifice ajadh'ah. The
majority of scholars say that this applies only to jadh'ah of sheep,
not of goats. A jadh'ah of sheep is one that is six months old, but
the older it is than six months the better, because some of the
madhhabs say that jadh'ah means one that is a year old.
The evidence that indicates that the desirable age according to
sharee'ah is one year is the marfoo' hadeeth of Jaabir (may Allaah be
pleased with him):
"Do not slaughter anything but a two-year-old animal, unless it is too
difficult for you, in which case slaughter a jadh'ah sheep."
Narrated by Muslim 1963.
The apparent meaning of the hadeeth is that a jadh'ah of sheep is only
acceptable if a two-year-old is not available. But the majority of
scholars interpreted that as referring to what is mustahabb, and they
quoted the following as evidence:
1 – It was narrated from one of the companions of the Prophet (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that "a jadha'h is sufficient for
what a two-year-old is sufficient." Narrated by al-Nasaa'i (4383) and
Abu Dawood (2799); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.
2 – It was narrated that 'Uqbah ibn 'Aamir (may Allaah be pleased with
him) said: We sacrificed a jadh'ah of sheep alongwith the Messenger
of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Narrated by
al-Nasaa'i (4382). Its isnaad was classed as qawiy by al-Haafiz in
al-Fath, and as saheeh byal-Albaani. See the commentary on Zaad
al-Ma'aad (2/317).
It should be noted that the same conditions are stipulated for
'aqeeqah as for udhiyah: the animal should be free of faults and of
the proper age. The evidence for that is qiyaas (analogy), on the
basis that both are sacrifices.
Thus it may be known that it is acceptable for you to sacrifice a
sheep that has reached the ageof six months. And Allaahknows best. -

Sacrifices, - It is essential that the sacrificial animal be slaughtered by a Muslim with the intention of offering a sacrifice (udhiyah).

In this part of the country (Vanc. ,Canada) and maybe other ares also,
the farmers deal with us in the following manner. When you go tobuy an
animal, they quote you a per pound rate. This means that after
slaughtering the animal, they weigh it and charge you a certainamount
per pound. This includes the cost of the animal and the fees for using
his premises (for slaughter) and the cutting and wrapping fee. For the
udhiyah is this permissible?
Or is it that the animal must first be purchased and then afterwards
only the fees can be paid. The farmers are not willing to do this as
they are afraid they may lose on the deal if they do it. I do believe
that if people try hard enough they may find those whomaight agree.
However, I am not certain. Nonetheless, the question is, can the
udhiyah be considered correct if the method of purchase mentioned
above is followed?.
Praise be to Allaah.
It is a necessary condition of the sacrificethat the animal be
slaughtered by a Muslim with the intention of offering a sacrifice
(udhiyah); it is not sufficient to slaughter it for the meat.
Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Majmoo' (8/380):
The intention is a condition of the sacrificebeing valid.
There is nothing wrong with buying the animal in the manner described
in the question, so long as the worker slaughtersit with the intention
of offering a sacrifice. That is if the worker is a Muslim; otherwise
one of you should slaughter it, then the worker can cut it up.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Sharh
al-Mumti' (7/494):
It is not correct to delegate the slaughter of the udhiyah
(sacrifice)to a kitaabi (i.e., a Jew or a Christian), even though meat
slaughtered by the People of the Book is halaal. Because slaughtering
the sacrifice is an act of worship, it is not correct to delegate it
to a kitaabi, as a kitaabi cannot be involved in acts of worship that
draw the Muslim closer to Allaah, because he is akaafir (disbeliever)
whose worship is not accepted. If his acts of worship are not valid
when done on his own behalf, they cannot be valid when done on behalf
of another. But if a kitaabi is delegated to slaughter regular meat
for eating, there is nothing wrong with that.
And Allaah knows best.

Islamic Stories, - The truth has come

It is stated on the authority of Abdullah bin Masood that the
unbelievers of the Quraish had installed 360 idols in Ka'bah so
strongly that their feet were fixed with lead. When Makkah was
conquered and the Prophet (SAW) entered the Holy Ka'bah, he had a
stick in his hand. With it, he started pointing towards the idols and
reciting this verse: Truth has (now) arrived, and falsehood perished
(Surah Al Isra:81). The idol, to which the Prophet (SAW) pointed on
its front, fell down to its rear side and the idol,to which he pointed
from its rear side, fell down flat on its front side. Source: Combined
from Bukhari, Muslim, Bazar, Tabrani and Abu Yaala.
