*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

The Description of Paradise –II

The Grades of Paradise
The evidence that Paradise has various grades and its inhabitants will
be in different ranks and categories:
Paradise consists of grades, someof which are above others, and its
people will be of differing levels and categories according to their
position in Paradise. Almighty Allaah Says (what means):
{But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds —
for those will be the highest degrees [in position].} [Quran 20:75]
One of those who explained and clarified this issue was Ibn Taymiyyah
who said:"Paradise has grades that are widely differentiated. The
beloved Awliyaa' (those close to Allaah because of their piety and
heedfulness) will be placed in those levels according to their faith
and piety. Allaah, the Most Exalted, Says (what means):
{Whoever should desire the immediate (worldly gratifications) — We
hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have
made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and
banished.} [Quran 17:18]
Allaah, the Most High, explains how He gives more of His Bounty in
this world or the next, as He wills, and His Bounty is not withheld
[forbidden] from either the righteous or the sinful. Allaah, the
Exalted, Says (what means):
{Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But
the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in
distinction.} [Quran17: 21]
Allaah Almighty explains that the differences between people in the
Hereafter will be greater thanthe differences between them in this
life, and the difference between the levels or ranks of the Hereafter
is greater than the differences here in this life. Allaahalso
differentiates between His Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention,
as He does between therest of His believing slaves. Allaah, the
All-Majestic, Says (what means):
{Those messengers- some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them
were those to whom Allaah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree.
And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him
with the pure spirit [(Jibreel (Gabriel)].} [Quran 2: 253]
Allaah also Says (what means): {And your Lord is Most Knowing of
whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And We have made some of the
prophets exceed others [in various ways], and to Daawood (David) We
gave the Book [of Psalms].} [Quran 17: 55]
On the other hand, the Prophet Muhammad said:
"A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allaah than a weak
believer, although both are good. Pay attention to that whichbenefits
you, seek Allaah's help, and never feel helpless. If something happens
to you, do not say, 'If only such and such would have happened.' Say
instead: 'Allaah has decreed it and He does what He wills.' Saying 'if
only' opens the way for Satan." [Muslim]
Besides, the Prophet also said:
"If a judge forms an independent judgment to decide an issue in the
light of the Quran and the Sunnah (Ijtihaad) and is correct, he will
have two rewards, and if he is mistaken, he will have one reward."
[Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Indeed, there are many verses in the Quran which indicate that there
are different degrees and various ranks as a reward for the believers
in Paradise (according to the excellence of their deeds). These verses
are as follows:
{Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of
Makkah] and fought [and those who did so after it]. Those are greater
in degree than those who spent afterwards and fought. But to all
Allaah has promised the best [reward] And Allaah, with what you do, is
Acquainted....} [Quran 57: 10]
{Not equal are those believers remaining [at home] — other than the
disabled — and the Mujahideen, [who strive and fight] in the cause of
Allaah with their wealth and their lives. Allaah has preferred the
Mujahideen through their wealth and their lives over those who remain
[behind], by degrees. And to all [i.e. both] Allaah has promised the
best [reward]. But Allaah has preferred the Mujahideen over those who
remain [behind] with a great reward — Degrees [of high position] from
Him and forgiveness and mercy.} [Quran 4: 95-96]
{Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the
maintenance of al-Masjid al-Haram (the Sacred Mosque in Makkah) equal
to [the deeds of] one who believes in Allaah and the Last Day and
strives in the cause of Allaah? They are not equal in the sight of
Allaah. And Allaah does not guide the wrongdoing people. The ones who
have believed, emigrated and striven in the cause of Allaah with their
wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allaah.
And it is those who are the attainers [of success]. Their Lord gives
them good tidings of mercyfrom Him and approval and of gardens for
them wherein is enduring pleasure. [They will be] abiding therein
forever. Indeed, Allaah has with Him a great reward.} [Quran 9: 19-22]
{Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night,
prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter andhoping
for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those
who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who
are] people of understanding.} [Quran 39. 9]
{... O you who have believed, when you are told, "Space yourselves" in
assemblies, then make space; Allaah will make space for you.' And when
you are told, "Arise," then arise; Allaah will raise those who have
believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And
Allaah is Acquaintedwith what you do.} [Quran 58. 11]
Al-Bukhaari reported from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said:
"Whoever believes in Allaah and His Messenger, offers prayer perfectly
and fasts the month of Ramadhaan, will be granted Paradise as of right
by Allaah, no matter whether he fights in Allaah's cause or remains in
the land where he is born." The people said: "O Messenger of Allaah,
shall we acquaint the people with this good news?" He said, "Paradise
has one hundred grades (and ranks) which Allaah has reserved for the
Mujaahideen who fight in His Cause, and the extent of difference
(distance) between each of the two grades is like the distance between
the heavens and the earth. So when you ask Allaah for something,
askfor Al-Firdaws, which is the best and highest part of Paradise." I
(the narrator, Abu Hurayrah) thought that the Prophet said: "Above it
(Al-Firdaws) is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and from it originate
the rivers of Paradise." [Al-Bukhaari] - [To be continued…..]

The Description of Paradise - I

There is nothing Like It
The delights of Paradise surpass imagination and defy description. They
are like nothing known to the people of this world no matter how
advanced we may become.
What we achieve is nothing in comparison with the joys of the
Hereafter. As is mentioned in several Ahadeeth, there is nothing like
Paradise: "It is sparkling light, aromatic plants, alofty palace, a
flowing river, ripe fruit, a beautiful wife and abundant clothing, in
an eternal abode of radiant joy, in beautiful, soundly-constructed
high houses." [Ibn Maajah]
The Prophet Muhammad was asked by his companions about the buildings
of Paradise and he replied with a wonderful description: "(In it are)
Bricks of gold and silver, mortar of fragrant musk, pebbles of pearl
and sapphire, and soil of saffron. Whoever enters it is filled with
joy and will never feel miserable; he will live there forever and will
never die; their clothes will never wear out and their youth will
never fade." [Ahmad and others]
Describing Paradise, Almighty Allaah Says (what means): {And when you
look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion."}
[Quran 76:20]
What Allaah Almighty has kept hidden from us of the delights of
Paradise is beyond our ability to comprehend. Almighty Allaah Says
(what means):
{And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes
[i.e. satisfaction] as reward for what they used to do.} [Quran 32.
17]
Besides, the Messenger of Allaah said:
"Allaah, the Exalted, has said: "I have prepared for My righteous
Slaves [in Paradise] what no eyes have ever seen, no ears have ever
heard of, and what has never come to the mind or heart of a human
being."; recite, if you wish{And no soul knows what has been hidden
for them of comfort for eyes [i.e. satisfaction] as reward for what
they used to do.} [Quran 32:17] [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Moreover, Imaam Muslim reported that Sahl Ibn Sa'd As-Saa'idi said: I
attended a gathering where the Messenger of Allaah described Paradise,
and I stayed until he finished speaking. At the end of the
description, he said: "In it is whatno eyes have ever seen, no ears
have ever heard of, and what has never come to the mind or heart of a
human being." He then recited the verse (which means): {Their sides
part [i.e. they arise] from [their] beds; they supplicatetheir Lord in
fear and aspiration, and from what We have providedthem, they spend ).
And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes
[i.e. satisfaction] as reward for what they used to do.} [Quran 32:
16-17]
The Gates of Paradise
Paradise has gates through which the believers will enter, as the
angels enter therein, as Allaah, the Most Exalted, Says (what means):
{Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them.}
[Quran 38: 50]
Allaah, the Most Exalted, Says (what means): {Gardens of perpetual
residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among
their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels
will enter upon them from every gate, [saying]. 'Peace [i.e. security]
be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final
home.'} [Quran 13: 23-24]
Allaah, the Most High and Exalted, has told us that these gates will be
opened when the believers reach them, and they [the believers] will be
welcomed by the angels with greetings of peace. Almighty Allaah Says
(whatmeans): {…when they reach it while its gates have been openedand
its keepers say, 'Peace be upon you; you have become pure;so enter it
to abide eternally therein,'} [Quran 39: 73]
The number of gates of Paradise is eight; one of them is called Ar-
Rayaan, which is exclusively for those who fast. The Messenger
of Allaah said: "In Paradise there are eight gates. There is one gate
called 'Ar-Rayyaan'. No-one will enter it except those who fast, and
when they have entered, it will be locked behind them, and no-one else
will enter it." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
There are also gates for those who pray much, those who give charity
and those who fight in Jihad, as well as the gate called Ar-Rayyaan
for those who fast.
In a Hadeeth reported by both Al-Bukhaari and Muslim, Abu Hurayrah
narrated that the Messenger of Allaah said:
"Whoever spends a pair (of anything) from his wealth for thesake of
Allaah, will be called fromthe gates of Paradise, Paradise has eight
gates. Whoever will be from the people of the prayer (i.e.the people
who observe the prayer regularly, properly, and perform both
obligatory and supererogatory prayers), will be called from the gate
of prayer; whoever will be from among the people of Sadaqah (charity,
i.e. spend money in charity) will be called from the gate of charity.
Whoever will be from among the people of Jihad will be called from the
gate of Jihad, and whoever will be from among the people of fasting
(obligatory and optional) will be called from the gate of fasting."
Furthermore, Abu Bakr said: "By Allaah, it would not matter if a
person was called from any of them, but will anyone be there tobe
called from all of them, O' Messenger of Allaah?" He said,"Yes, and I
hope that you will be one of them." [Al-Bukhaari Muslim]
Abu Bakr's question refers to a person who has all these good
qualities: prayer, fasting, charity, Jihad, etc., in order to be
called from all the gates. In another Hadeeth, the Prophet said:
"Whoever spends a pair (of anything) for the sake of Allaah will be
called from all eight gates of Paradise. He also spoke of the person
who performs ablution and does it properly, then lifts hisgaze to the
sky and says: 'Ashhadu an laa ilaaha illallaah wahdahu laa shareeka
lahu, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluhu,' the eightgates
of Paradise will be opened to him, and he will enter it through any
gate he wishes." [ibid]
Additionally, 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab said: "The Messenger of Allaah
said: "Whoever performs ablution and does it well, then lifts his gaze
to the heavens and says: 'Ashhadu an laa ilaaha illa Allaah wahdahu
laa shareeka lahu, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluhu (I
bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped but Allaah, He
has nopartners nor associates, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His
slave and Messenger), the eight gates of Paradise will be opened to
him, and he will enter it through any gate he wishes." [Muslim]
Allaah also Says (what means): {…when they reach it while its gates
have been opened and its keepers say, 'Peace be upon you; you have
become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein'.} [Quran 39:73]
The Prophet told us that there is a gate, which is specific for those
who will not be called to account: this is the right-hand gate of
Paradise. The rest of themwill enter Paradise with all other nations
through other gates. In aHadeeth about Ash-Shafaa'ah (intercession),
the Prophet said:
"Allaah will say: 'O Muhammad, admit those of your Ummah (followers)
who do not need to be brought to account through the right hand gate;
and the others will enter through other gates like the rest of the
people." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
In the same Hadeeth, the Prophet described the width of the gate of
Paradise, stating that the width between the two sides of the gate is
like the distance between Makkah and Hajar, or between Makkah and
Basra." [ibid]
The Messenger of Allaah said: "The distance between the two
gate-panels of one of the gates ofParadise is the distance of
forty-year's walking, but a time will come when it would be very
crowded." [Ahmad]

The Hellfire described

Allaah has warned us in His Book about the Hellfire and has informedus
about the different types of punishments it will have, to the extent
that one's heart splits due to fear. Allaah has informed us about its
torment due to His mercy,so that we would therefore fear and avoid it.
Listen to the verses in the Book of Allaah that address the
description of the Hellfire, perhaps it will be a reminder for you;
perhaps they will cause you to repent before it is too late - before
punishment strikes suddenly and you find nobody to support or aid you.
The Hellfire contains chains, as Allaah Says what means: "Indeed,
Wehave prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze."
[Quran 76: 4]
Allaah also Says what means: "…Indeed, We have prepared for the
wrongdoers a fire whosewalls will surround them. And if they call for
relief, they will be relieved withwater like murky oil, which scalds
[their] faces.Wretched is the drink, and evil is the resting place."
[Quran 18: 29]
Allaah also Says what means: "And those who disbelieved will be
drivento Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are
opened and its keepers will say: 'Did there not come to you messengers
from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning
you of the meeting of this Day of yours?' They will say: 'Yes, but the
word [i.e. decree] of punishment has come into effect upon the
disbelievers.'" [Quran 39: 71]
Allaah also Says what means: "And for those who disbelieved in their
Lord is the punishment ofHell, and wretched is the destination. When
they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while
it boils up.It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown
into it, its keepers ask them: 'Did there not come to you a warner?'"
[Quran 67: 6-8]
In the Hellfire, punishment will be from all directions; Allaah Says
what means: "On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them
and from below their feet and it is said, 'Taste ] the result of]
whatyou used to do.'" [Quran 29: 55]
Allaah also Says what means: "And the companions of the left— what are
the companionsof the left? [They will be] in scorching fire and
scalding water. And a shade of black smoke; neither cool nor
beneficial." [Quran 56: 41-44]
One form of punishment in the Hellfire is that people will be dragged
on their faces in it, as Allaah Says what means: "Indeed, the
criminals are in error and madness. The Day they are draggedinto the
Fire on their faces [it will be said], 'Taste the touch of Saqar
(i.e., Hell).'" [Quran 54: 47-48]
People are the fuel by which the Hellfire is heated and flamed; Allaah
Says what means: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your
families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are
[appointed] angels, harshand severe; they do not disobey Allaah in
what Hecommands them but do what they are commanded." [Quran 66: 6]
Allaah also Says what means: " Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a
fortress, as if they were yellowish [black] camels." [Quran 77: 32-33]
In the Hellfire, people's clothes will be made of fire; Allaah Says
what means: "And you will see the criminals that Day bound together in
shackles. Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by
the Fire." [Quran 14: 49-50]
The punishment in the Hellfire is continuous; Allaah Says what means:
"Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses — We will drive them into
a fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace
them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allaah
is ever Exalted in Might and Wise." [Quran 4: 56]
Regarding people's drinkand food in Hell, Allaah Says what means:
"Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, will be eating
from trees of Zaqqoom. And filling with it your bellies. And drinking
on top of it from scalding water. And will drink as the drinkingof
thirsty camels. That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense."
[Quran 56: 51-56]
Allaah also Says what means: "…And he will be given a drink of
purulent water. He will gulp it but will hardly [be able to] swallow
it. And death willcome to him from everywhere, but he is notto die.
And before him is a massive punishment." [Quran 14: 16-17]
Finally, the punishment of the Hellfire is never reduced, nor will its
dwellers ever die, as Allaah Says what means: "Indeed, the criminals
will be in the punishmentof Hell, abiding eternally. It will not be
allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair. And We
did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers. And they
will call, 'O M a alik let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say,
"Indeed, you will remain.'" [Quran 43: 74-77]
There are also many prophetic narrations describing and addressing the
Hellfire; the following are some of them:
· Ibn Mas'ood reported: "The Messengerof Allaah said: 'Hell willbe
brought on that Day (i.e., the Day of Resurrection) with seventy
bridles; and with every bridle will be seventy thousand angels,
pulling it . '" [Muslim]
· Abu Hurayrah reported: "The Prophet said: 'Your fire (in this world)
is a part of the seventy parts of the fire of Hell ', (meaning in its
heat) . It was said: 'O Messenger of Allaah! It would have been
enough, (meaning, if it was only as hot as the fire in this world,
then that would have been enough as a deterrent). ' He said: 'It was
increased sixty-nine times (or multiples), each multiple being of the
same (degree) of heat . ' " [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]
· Abu Hurayrah reported: "We were oncein the company of the Messenger
of Allaah when we heard a loud bang. Thereupon, the Messenger of
Allaah asked: 'Do you know what this (sound) is? ' Wereplied: 'Allaah
and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'It is a stone which was thrown
into Hell seventy years ago, and has only now reached its bottom. ' "
[Muslim]
· Ibn 'Abbaas narrated that the Prophet said: "If a drop from the tree
of Zaqqoom (i.e., a tree of Hell) were to fall onto this world, it
would (pollute and) destroy the lives of all the people of this
world." [An-Nasaa'i & At-Tirmithi]
· An-Nu'maan ibn Al-Basheer narrated that the Prophet said: "The least
in punishment among the people of Hellfire is one whose sandals or
shoelaces will be of fire, which will make his brain boil as a pot of
water boils. He willnot think that there is anyone being punished more
than him, but in fact, he will be the least in punishment."
[Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]
· Anas ibn Maalik reported: "The Messengerof Allaah said: 'Among the
inmates of Hell will be a person who had led a very luxurious life in
this world will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and dipped in
the Hellfire, he will then be asked: `O son of Aadam! Did you ever
experience any comfort? Did you (ever) happen to have any luxury?' He
will reply: `I swear by Allaah, no my Lord.' Then, another person, who
hadexperienced extreme misery in the life of this world, will be
dipped in Paradise . He will then be asked: `O son of Aadam! Did you
ever experience any misery? Did you ever encounter difficulty?' He
will reply: 'I swear by Allaah, no my Lord, I neither experienced
misery nor passed through hardship. ' " [Muslim] This means that the
dwellers of the Hellfire will completely forget any pleasures
theyenjoyed in this life, and the dwellers of Paradise will completely
forget any type of hardship theyfaced in this life.
· Anas ibn Maalik reported: "The Messengerof Allaah said: "A man from
the dwellers of Hell will be asked on the Day of Resurrection: `If you
possessed all that is on earth, would you ransom yourself for it?` He
will reply: `Yes.` Then, he will be told (i.e., by Allaah): `I
requested something far easier than this from you:I had taken a pledge
from you not to associatepartners with Me, but you insisted on
associating with Me.' " [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]
· Jaabir ibn 'Abdullaah reported: "The Prophet said: 'Allaah has taken
a pledge upon Himself to make everyone who consumes intoxicants drink
from Teenatul-Khabaal. ' He was asked: `O Messenger of Allaah! What is
Teenatul-Khabaal?' He replied: 'It is (a liquid) made of the sweat and
pus of the dwellers of Hell. ' " [Muslim]
· The Prophet said: "The Jews and the Christians will be asked: `What
do you need?` They will reply: `Our Lord!We are thirsty so give us
water to drink.` They willthen be told: `Come along,' until they reach
Hell, which will be destroying itself, (i.e., some parts of it will
eat up others due to its intense heat) and they will be thrown into
it. " [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim] Imaam Al-Hasan commented on this
narration saying: "What do you think the condition will be of thosewho
stood for fifty thousand years without eating or drinking, until they
almost died of thirst and their stomachs burnt from hunger, and who
were then taken to Hell and given boiling drinks in red hot pots (to
drink)?"
· Imaam Ibn Al-Jawzi described Hell saying: "It is an abode in which
its dwellers are deprived of joy; their faces are dark; they are
beaten with hooks that are stronger than steel; upon it are angels who
are harsh and tough; (the inhabitants of Hell) will be lying on fire
and drinking boiling water; they will be continuously in grief; they
will never leave Hell because it will be their eternal abode; they
will cry for having wasted their youth; their crying will be
continuousand increasing; their Creator is angered by them; they will
be exposed in front of others; what they collected in life will not
benefit them; they will see the evil consequencesof their sins; life
will seem as if it was a dream to them; their bodies will burn, but
whenever they are burnt out, they will be returned to their original
form in order forthem to taste more torture."

Names and Attributes of Allah -, Is al-Ahad one of the names of Allaah?.

Dought & clear - , is alahad one of allah names .can I call my son abdalahad?
Praise be to Allaah.
Yes, al-Ahad is one of thenames of Allaah which are mentioned in the
Qur'aan. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Say (O Muhammad): He is Allaah, (the) One.
Allaah-us-Samad [Allaah — the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all
creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)]."
[al-Ikhlaas 112:1-2]
Therefore it is permissible to call your son 'Abd al-Ahad or 'Abd al-Samad.
Shaykh 'Abd al-Rahmaan al-Barraak.
The meaning of al-Ahad is the Unique, who is forever One and has
never and will never have another alongside Him. (al-Nihaayah, 1/35).
Allaah is Unique in His Oneness, in being One in His essence and
attributes. Some (scholars) differentiated between al-Waahid
andal-Ahad by saying that al-Waahid refers to His being one in His
essence only, whilst al-Ahad means that He is one in both His essence
and His attributes. (Tafseer Asmaa' Allaah by al-Zajjaaj, p. 58).
And it was said that al-Waahid means He is unique in His essence and
does not have any peer or rival, and al-Ahad is Unique in His
attributes. So al-Waahid is one in and of Himself, and al-Ahad means
being one in His attributes. Al-Ahad is oneof the attributes of Allaah
which belong uniquely to Him, and in which nothing else has ashare.
(Lisaan al-'Arab –Ahad – 1/35; wahida 8/4779 – 4783). Allaah is
al-Waahid al-Ahad, and has no second, no partner, no peer and no
rival. He is al-Waahid upon Whom His slaves depend and Whom they seek.
They do not put their trust in anyone except Him. (Ishtiqaaq Asmaa'
Allaah, 90-93). Heis al-Waahid and there isnone like unto Him.
Everything other than Him that is called one in some aspect will not
be one in many other aspects. (Sha'n al-Du'aa', 82-83)
Ibn Jareer believed that the Oneness of Allaah ruled out there being
anything else that could be like Him. Allaah has no peer and no rival.
He is the One God, the One Lord, and no one other than Him deserves to
be obeyed; no one other than Him should beworshipped. (Tafseer Ibn
Jareer, 3/265-266)
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And your Ilaah (God) is One Ilaah (God — Allaah)" [al-Baqarah 2:163]
Allaah is One and is Perfect in all ways; He has no partner or
associate. His slaves mustaffirm His Oneness in their hearts and in
their words and deeds, by acknowledging His absolute perfection and
directing all acts of worship solely to Him. (Tayseer al-Kareem
al-Rahmaan, 5/485),

What is the meaning of Allaah’s name al-Shaheed?.

What is the meaning of Allaah's name al-Shaheed (the Witness)?
Praise be to Allaah.
Al-Shaheed is the One Who is honest and trustworthy in His testimony.
It was said Heis the One from Whose knowledge nothing is missing.
Al-Shaheed is the One Who is present and witnessing. He is also the
One who will testify against His creation on the Day of Resurrection.
He points to His Oneness (Tawheed) in all that He has created.
Al-Shaheed is al-Khabeer (the All-Aware), al-'Aleem (All-Knowing). It
all comes back to His knowledge; the first name refers to that which
is apparent, the second refers to that which is hidden, and thethird
refers to both.
Because nothing is hidden from Allaah, He isboth Shaahid and Shaheed
(Witness), i.e., He knows their reality like one who sees and
witnesses them, becausenothing at all is hidden from Him.
And He will be the Witness for the oppressed who have no other
witness or supporter against the aggressors and oppressors who have no
one to stop them in this world from abusing the rights of the
oppressed. So He will restore their rights and avenge them.
Allaah is the One Who is watching over all things. He hears all
voices, loud and silent alike. He sees all that exists, great and
small alike. His knowledge encompassesall things, and He is the One
Who will bear witness for and against His slaves with regard to what
they do.

Names and Attributes of Allah -, The meaning of the pronoun “We” as used inthe Qur’an.

Why does the Quran use the term "we" in its ayats?
Many non-believers believe that this may be in reference to Jesus?
Praise be to Allaah.
It is a feature of literary style in Arabic that a person may refer to
himself by the pronoun nahnu (we) for respect or glorification. He may
also use the word ana (I), indicating one person, or the third person
huwa (he). All three styles are used in the Qur'an, where
Allaahaddresses the Arabs in their own tongue. (Fataawa al-Lajnah
al-Daa'imah, 4/143).
"Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, sometimes refers to Himself
in the singular, by name or by use of a pronoun, and sometimesby use
of the plural, as inthe phrase (interpretation of the meaning):
'Verily, We have given you a manifest victory" [al-Fath 48:1], and
other similar phrases. But Allaah never refers to Himself by use of
the dual, because the plural refers to the respect thatHe deserves,
and may refer to His names and attributes, whereas the dual refers to
a specific number (and nothing else), and He is far abovethat."
(Al-'Aqeedah al-Tadmuriyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, p. 75).
These words, innaa ("Verily We") and nahnu ("We"), and other forms of
the plural, may be used by one person speaking on behalf of a group,
or they may be used by one person for purposes of respect or
glorification, as is done by some monarchs whenthey issue statements
or decrees in which they say "We have decided…" etc. [This is known in
English as "The Royal We" – Translator]. In such cases, only one
person is speaking but the plural is used for respect. The One Who is
more deserving of respect than any other isAllaah, may He be glorified
and exalted, so when He says in the Qur'an innaa ("Verily We") and
nahnu ("We"), it is for respect and glorification, not to indicate
plurality of numbers. If an aayah of this type is causing confusion,
it is essential to refer to the clear, unambiguous aayaat
forclarification, and if a Christian, for example, insists on taking
ayaat such as "Verily, We: it is We Who have sent downthe Dhikr (i.e.,
the Qur'an)" [al-Hijr 15:9 – interpretation of the meaning] as proof
of divine plurality, we may refute this claim by quoting such clear
and unambiguous aayaat as (interpretation of the meanings): "And your
god is One God, there is none who has the right to be worshipped but
He, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful" [al-Baqarah 2:163] and
"Say: He is Allaah, the One" [al-Ikhlaas 112:1] – and other aayaat
which can only be interpreted in one way. Thus confusion will be
dispelled for the one who is seeking the truth.Every time Allaah uses
the plural to refer to Himself, it is based on the respect and honour
that He deserves, and on the great number of His names and attributes,
and on the great number of His troops and angels." (Reference:
Al-'Aqeedah al-Tadmuriyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, p. 109).
And Allaah knows best.

God definitely has the power to protect theBook of Truth which He has revealed

The Gospel revealed to the Prophet Jesus (pbuh)is a true Book that is
guidance and light as revealed in the Qur'an. However, some parts of
the Gospel were either lost in time or corrupted.Despite this, many
truthful statements which belong to the truereligion have been
preserved in the Gospel. Muslims appraise the Gospel in the guidance
of the Qur'an and hold good opinion of those accounts that conform
with the verses and the hadiths, considering these passages were not
corrupted. Therefore, Muslims may benefit from the statements in the
Gospel which are consistent with the Qur'an and the hadiths.
One may surely understand why some Christians do not want
toacknowledge the possibility that the Gospel, the Book of truth,
which God revealed as a light, was changed and misinterpreted over
time. They may get discontent when they learn that they are abiding by
a book that has been corrupted, when all along they thought it was a
true book. Yet, sincere Christians should take a fact into
consideration: Most parts of the Gospel represent the Truth. The
original Gospel sent down to the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) is revelation by
God and has deep and profound meaning and exquisite wording that is
esteemed in the Qur'an. However, each and every Christian who holds
sincere judgment may clearly recognize those parts either incorporated
later in theGospel or wrongly expounded. In order to comprehend this,
sincere Christians should take the following facts in consideration
and assess these points with wisdom:
Besides consisting of the truthful revelation sent down to the Prophet
Jesus (as), the Gospel also includes practices of the Prophet Jesus
(pbuh), his sayings narrated from one to another over time, as well as
information on various historical events and letters belonging to the
apostles. Therefore, claiming that these are "unchangeable and
absolute commands of God" is not going to be the right approach. There
are passages annexed to the Gospel later on as words of the prophets,
but their veracity is controversial as they bear qualities of hearsay.
Some parts were appended to the Gospel centuries later after the time
of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and those passages were based on
information that was accepted and put into effect by selection of a
council. The truthfulness and objectivity of these messages is highly
questionable. In fact, due to this, opposing sects in Christianity
appeared, and these disagreements caused controversies and
disputation. The drastic segmentation of the Christian world in the
3rd century was based on these polemical passages in question.
The four gospels that constitute the Gospel were selected among the
many other texts at the Council of Nicea by a majority vote. Just as
anyperson with plain good sense would admit, the authenticity of a
book written in various versions and in differentcontext is open to
dispute. Besides, there isuncertainty as to how the decision was made
to select these different 4 Gospels. There isn't anycertainty as to
which one of these canonized four gospels, that are in serious
conflict with oneanother, provides the exact truth.
There is substantial discrepancy among the Gospels, of which the
number has been reduced to four. While synoptic Gospels (Mark, Matthew
and Luke) accommodate substantive inconsistencies with the Gospel of
John, even those incorporate significant deviation from one another.
If we are to accept the message of one of the Gospels as true, then we
are required to ignore the contradictory information given in another.
If only one of the two messages is factual, then it is not possible to
claim that theGospel is a non-corrupted book, and every word of it is
based on revelation. Indeed, only this instance is adequate as clear
proof that the Gospel was indeed corrupted.
In the Gospel, information is given on the (so-called) crucifixion of
the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and the Holy Scripture is proceeded with
happenings after his (so-called) death. There is again a very serious
contradiction at this point. For example, how come the Holy Gospel,
which was revealed to the Prophet Jesus (pbuh)and is the greatest
verityfor him, include events that take place after his (so-called)
death? Obviously, those passages in question were comprised,
historically compiledby people who witnessed that period. Eventually,
itis not possible to call these texts revelations by God.
Almighty God surely has the power to protect thetrue Books which He
revealed to humanity as guidance. Christians, however, bring this
superior attribute of ourLord as evidence in order to deny the
statements in regard to the corruption of the Gospel. As a matter of
fact, there is wisdom hidden here that needs to be appreciated:
To emphasize once again, surely God is supreme and all-powerful to
preserve His book. Almighty God isomnipotent over all creation in the
universe. Yet, not everything in the universe is flawless and there is
a specific wisdom behind the creation of weaknesses.
The corruption which has taken place in the Holy Gospel and made
evident with clear proofs has occurred by the will of God and His
ordinance. This has come to happen with wisdom and ultimately created
for a special test that God decreed. Since God manifests the
prevailing circumstancesthis way and shows the proofs on this matter
in plain sight, one should not be obsessed with a fixed idea but try
to see and understand the insight behind all this. Obviously, the
Christian world is being tested by means of this fact. They are
summoned to use their conscience. It is apparent that this situation
is a particular requirement for the coming of the Prophet Jesus
(pbuh). By means of this trial, false beliefs will obviously be
widespread throughout the world and people will fall into turmoil,
dispute and bloodshed because of this, and eventually the signs
foretold in the Torah, Gospel and Qur'an as well as the hadiths in
regard to the End Times will take place. On account of this, the
primary responsibility ofsincere Christians is to seek the true
commands of the Gospel and hold steadfast to these.
In fact, it is to be stated that the Gospel, the book of truth, has
really been preserved in conformity to the assertions of our Christian
brothers. However, the Gospel which has been preserved is hidden and
not found yet. By the will of God, the original Torah and Gospel will
befound with the return ofthe Prophet Jesus (pbuh)and both Jews and
Christians will be judged according to these books of truth.
At the same time, our Christian brothers shouldacknowledge the fact
that the Qur'an comprises and reveals the entirity of true commands of
the Gospel. The righteous decrees ofthe Gospel have their place in the
Qur'an and therefore Muslims are also obliged to observe the true
Gospel. The Qur'an is the book of truth which confirms theGospel and
this way discerns the flaws and affirms the truth. In this respect,
Muslims are followers of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and
grant him peace), and followers of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh)who
observed the true Gospel, also followers of the Prophet Moses (pbuh)
who abide by thetrue Torah. For that reason, if a true Christianis
willing to adhere to the true Gospel and judge according to the true
commands of the Gospel, then he will be able to find the totality of
these decrees in the Qur'an. The Gospel that is the book of truth is
our holy book which God praises in the Qur'an. God reveals how the
Gospel was a book ofguidance for humanity at the time of its
revelation in the Qur'an in the following verses:
He has sent down the Book to you with truth, confirming what was there
before it. And He sent down the Torah and the Gospel before this, as a
guide to mankind… (Surah Al 'Imran, 3)
And We sent Jesus son ofMary following in their footsteps, confirming
the Torah that came before him. We gave him the Gospel containing
guidance and light, confirming theTorah that came before it, and as
guidance and admonition for those who have taqwa. (Surat al-Ma'ida,
46)
Then We sent Our Messengers following in their footsteps and sent
Jesus son of Mary after them, giving him the Gospel. We put compassion
and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. They invented
monasticism – We did not prescribe it for them – purely out of desire
to gain the pleasure of God, but even so they did not observe it as it
should have been observed. To those of them who had iman We gave their
reward but many of them are deviators. (Surat al-Hadid, 27)
Finally, before our Christian brothers reject the Qur'an through a
prejudiced outlook, theyshould refer to the Qur'an based on this
viewpoint. Every person, who asks for an understanding of judgment
between rightand wrong in sincerity, will be granted this superior
blessing of God.

The Dajjal has influenced people through hypnosis, making them unable to see the most evident facts regarding the end times

Our Prophet (saas) has described dajjal (the antichrist) as the worst
corruption in the historyof mankind and has given detailed information
concerning the damage and corruption the antichristwill cause, the
impact hewill have on people and how he will mislead them. Bediuzzaman
Said Nursi also made wide-ranging statements on the basis of these
hadiths on the subject of the antichrist'sactivities and described how
the antichrist would take control of people through a kind of
hypnosis:
One of its reasons is as follows: IT COULD ONLY BEA WONDROUS PERSON
WITH THE POWER OF MIRACLES who could neutralize and change the way of
THE HORRIFYING DAJJAL [ANTICHRIST], WHO WILL PRESERVE HIMSELF THROUGH
WONDERS, BESTOWED ON HIM BY GODIN ORDER TO LEAD HIM ASTRAY, SUCH AS
MAGIC, HYPNOTIC POWERS, AND SPIRITUALISM, AND WILL SPELLBIND EVERYONE
. And THAT PERSON WILL BETHE PROPHET JESUS (AS), WHO IS THE PROPHET OF
THE MAJORITY OF MANKIND. (Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, Rays, p. 493)
The system of the antichrist makes intense use of such means of mass
communications as the radio, television, internet, newspapers and
magazines, and has succeeded in influencingboth a number of Muslims
and also much of the population of the world at large. But thesepeople
hypnotized by the antichrist are unable, because of that hypnosis, to
recognize that they have been hypnotized. For that reason;
They regard this state of affairs, which should greatly alarm them, as
perfectly ordinary;
They regard a phenomenon that should normally spur them into action as
something very ordinary;
They are easily taken in by false information, nonsense and
superstitious beliefs theywould never otherwise sign up to;
And they watch many marvels and miracles worked by Allah literally
through closed eyes, as if they were unaware of them.
Satan's Help for the antichrist
It is revealed in the hadiths that the antichrist will be helped by satans.
... SATANS WILL SAY TO HIM, "TELL US WHAT YOU WANT, AND WE WILL DO
IT." And he will say, "Go, and tell people that I am their Lord," and
will disperse them in all directions... (Al-Barzanji, Al-Isha'ah
li-ashrat al-sa'ah, pp. 212-213)
As revealed in the verses of the Qur'an, satan is able to cling to
people like a shell and cause forgetfulness:
He (Moses' young helper)said, 'Do you see what has happened? When we
went to find shelter at the rock, I forgot the fish. No one made me
forget to remember it except satan . It found itsway into the sea in
an amazing way.' (Surat al-Kahf, 63)
If someone shuts his eyes to the remembrance of the All-Merciful, We
assign him a satan who becomes his bosom friend –..." (Surat
al-Zukhruf, 36)
As the verses also reveal, satan may be also to cause such effects as
forgetfulness, distractingpeople, closing their minds and blocking
theirforesight and perception. The system of the antichrist also has a
sorcery-type effect on people by using satans. Close inspection shows
that the majority of the world's population have been hypnotized by
the antichrist, giving rise to a situation that stops them from seeing
the most evident truths.
The intense and constanthypnosis from the system of the antichrist
results in terrible heedlessness in people. Bediuzzaman describes this
position as follows:
But in these stormy times, currents that numb the senses and scatter
man's attention on peripheral matters, plunging him into them, have
deadened his senses and bewildered him. As a result of this the people
of misguidance are temporarily unable to feel the spiritual torment.
Even the people of guidance are overwhelmed by heedlessness and
cannottruly appreciate its true pleasures. (BediuzzamanSaid Nursi,
Rays, p. 678)
Just as Bediuzzaman says, in the End Times a great many people
hypnotized by the system of the antichrist have;
* Had their senses numbed, in other words, they have lost their
foresight and perception,
* Have had their attention scattered, in other words, they are unable
to see important matters right before their eyes,
* Have had their senses deadened; in other words, they have turned
into people who are unable to see their dire circumstances. This lack
of awareness is so intense and severe that they are even unable to
feel how painful and troubled their situation is.
As Bediuzzaman also says in the words, "IT COULD ONLY BE A WONDROUS
PERSON WITH THE POWER OF MIRACLES who could neutralize and change the
way of THE HORRIFYING DAJJAL [ANTICHRIST], WHO WILL PRESERVE HIMSELF
THROUGH WONDERS, BESTOWED ON HIM BY GODIN ORDER TO LEAD HIM ASTRAY,
SUCH AS MAGIC, HYPNOTIC POWERS, AND SPIRITUALISM, AND WILL SPELLBIND
EVERYONE . And THAT PERSON WILL BETHE PROPHET JESUS (AS)," the Prophet
Jesus (as) will totally eradicate thishypnosis of the antichrist.
Hazrat Mahdi (as) will work to break this hypnosis and sorcery until
the appearance of the Prophet Jesus (as), but it is only with the
Prophet Jesus' (as) coming that people will be totally freed from the
influence of that hypnosis.
In order to better see how this hypnosis is working on people, it will
be useful to examine, subject by subject, how the antichrist scatters
the attention and deadens the powers of understanding of the people he
hypnotizes.
1. Under the influence ofthe hypnotism of the antichrist, people will
beunnaturally calm and will fail to realize they are living through
very important events at this time.
One of the greatest and most holy ages in the history of the world
began with the Hijri 1400s. This age is that of the coming of Hazrat
Mahdi (as), whose coming Allah foretold to all the prophets, which
even the earliest prophets were aware of,and whom our Prophet (saas)
has described with hundreds of details. The Prophet Jesus (as) will
return in this century, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear and the moral
values of Islam will rule the world. Signsshowing that we are in aholy
age began appearing right from the first days of Hijri 1400. More than
150 signs foretold by our Prophet (saas) have taken place over the
last 30 years. This is a clear indication of the comingof Hazrat Mahdi
(as).
Under normal circumstances, a Muslim who knows the hadiths about the
system of the Mahdi and who sees thatthey have come about should be in
a state of the greatest excitement and be striving to find Hazrat
Mahdi (as). It is extraordinary for a Muslim who believes in the words
of our Prophet (saas) to know that more than 150 phenomena foretold by
him have taken place and still continue with his daily affairs as if
nothing had happened. Every Muslims learning this information will
naturally engage on a quest and strive to be one of the followers of
Hazrat Mahdi (as) and to serve Islam and will spread the moral values
of the religion with all his fervor and wage an intellectual struggle
against irreligion.
But when we look at theIslamic world in general we see that some
Muslims are so totally and extraordinarily unmoved that they say, "The
signs foretold by our Prophet (saas) have come about, and that is a
good thing. Now, whatshall I cook for dinner?" This extraordinary
apathy is the result of hypnosis by the antichrist. Even if someone
hypnotized by the antichrist was told ofall the portents, all the
hadiths and given, all the glad tidings in the Qur'an, all that will
still not stir him from that apathy. That person will still not be
able to fully concentrate on anythingother than subjects such as what
to have for dinner, what to wear that morning, which school to put his
children down for or how to meet the next payment on his car.
2. The hadiths of our Prophet (saas) show thatlittle time remains
until the Day of Judgment. However, even that fails to stir some
people under the hypnosis of the antichrist.
Trustworthy hadiths handed down from our Prophet (saas) report that
the life span of this world is 7000 years. One trustworthy hadith
narrated by Ahmed ibn Hanbal reveals that 5600 years of the life of
the Earth have already passed.
Bediuzzaman Said Nursi interprets the information in these reliable
hadiths to mean that the Day of Judgment will come as of Hijri 1545:
"A group from my community will remain in truth until Allah's command."
The abjad calculation of the clause "A group frommy community..."
which is 1542 (2117) implies its [the community's] time of survival.
The abjad calculation of the clause "will remain in truth" (when the
gemination mark is counted) gives 1506 (2082); it indicates until that
date it will continue its work of enlightenment evidentlyand
obviously, and maybe victoriously; then until 1542 (2117) in secrecy
and defeat. The abjad calculation of the clause " until Allah's
command" (when the gemination mark is counted) suggests that THE
JUDGMENT DAY WILL BEFALL the unbeliever in 1545 (2120) . (Bediuzzaman
Said Nursi, Kastamonu Addendum, p. 33)
We are now in Hijri 1431. As is clear from thehadiths and from
statements by Sunni scholars, the world has some 110 years left, and
the Ummah a life span of70 years remaining. By Allah's leave, within
these 70 years we will see the return of the Prophet Jesus (as), the
open emergence of Hazrat Mahdi (as), the unification of the
Islamicworld under the leadership of Hazrat Mahdi (as) and the global
dominion of the moral values of Islam. There is no doubt that this is
very important information, which will excite everyone and enormously
increase his or her fervor. And thanksto the advances in
communications technology, the great majority of the world now can
access that information.
But a great many peoplestill behave as if nothing were happening, and
occupy themselves with the details of their daily lives, as if they
will live for hundreds more years. They regard this important reality
as if it were just ordinary information. It is a marvel that the
Prophet Jesus (as), who was taken into the Presence of Allah 2000
years ago and was removed from the spheres of time and space, should
return to the Earth as a prophet. The way that Hazrat Mahdi (as),
whose characteristics Allah has revealed in detail and who He has made
holy and select, is active in this century is another marvel. The way
that, by Allah's leave, everyone will turn to faith in the years ahead
and the moral values of Islam will rule the world is yet another great
marvel. But the way that although some people know these marvels
theybehave as if they were unimportant and attach more importance to
the next day's business contract, making the next payment to their
children's schools, the summer house they are thinking of buying and
how to decorate their homes is also a huge marvel. This apathy is one
of the clearest signs of the effect the hypnosis of the antichrist is
having on them.
3. Rivers of Muslims blood are flowing all over the world and the
Muslim world is suffering terribly, but because of the hypnosis of the
antichrist a great many people watch this uninterested.
News reports of people being martyred come in just about every day
from Afghanistan, or Iraq, or Palestine or East Turkestan. Just about
every day, newspapers carry reports about Muslims being bombed,
attacked, shot, imprisoned unjustly, tortured, raped and persecuted. A
great many people watch these reports with an unbelievable apathy, and
usually make no other reaction that to say, "do you see what is
happening in the Muslimworld?" Even worse, thegreat majority turns
the page of the newspaper when they see such reports without even
reading them and turn their attention to the result of a soccer match
or some artist's new hair-do. While such a person is sipping his warm
soup or tea and talking about matters of no urgency whatsoever,
millions of people left homeless on the streets of Pakistan are
wondering where to find shelter for the winter, Palestinian mothers
are wondering how to save their children that they cannot take to
hospitals, Afghan fathers whose wives have been raped before their
eyes are wondering how to respond and Iraqi children who have lost
their new-born siblings when the maternity ward was bombed are
wondering when it will all end. It is impossible for a normal person
to remain impassive in the face of such a picture foreven a second.
But the way that the great majority of the Islamic world of almost 1.5
billion people calmly sit back and watch what is happening to our
mothers, sisters, grandfathers and aunts in those lands is all due to
the effect of the hypnosis of the antichrist.
http://www.antiantichrist.org/
4. People believe in Darwinism, which ascribes all of life and the
universe to the unbelievable and illogical idea of blind chance,
because of the hypnosis of the antichrist.
One of the most blatant activities of the system of the antichrist is
the way that Darwinism enjoys official protectionand is imposed on
people in many countries, even though it is obvious that chance cannot
even account for the emergence of a single protein, that living things
have remained unchanged over millions of years and that data from all
branches of science haveyet again exposed the invalidity of the theory
of evolution. Bediuzzaman also said that Darwinism and materialism
would spread contagion by indoctrination and thus inflict terrible
harm on mankind. Darwinism is the religion of the community of the
antichrist. The antichrist needs a false religion in the campaign he
is waging against the moral values of the religion, and that false
religion is Darwinism. Anirrational and unbelievable theory is
established by the use offalse drawings, false formula and false
accounts, and people arethen indoctrinated with it as if it were a
scientificfact.
Darwinism is well knownto be a superstitious faith going back to the
ancient Sumerians and ancient Egypt and to be based on no scientific
evidence whatsoever. But the way that the myth that "living things
emerged spontaneously in muddy water" is set out with all seriousness,
dressed up with Latin terminology, as if it were science, and even
worse that people who have been educated andbecome professors cometo
believe this myth and the way that people who see that the whole thing
is totally wrong and say so then face a terrible policy of
intimidation and pressure are other indications of the hypnosis of the
antichrist.
5. Allah promises Muslimsthat Islam will rule the world, but under the
influence of the antichrist a great many Muslims ignore this promise.
Allah has promised in several verses of the Qur'an that He will
causetrue believers to inherit the Earth, in other words, that the
moral values of Islam will rule the world. Glad tidings are also given
in many hadiths that the moral values of Islam will rule the world in
the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as), the age we are living in now. Every
Muslim who believes in Allah, has surrendered to Him and trusts in His
judgment, knows that Allah will certainly keep His promise. And since
Allah has promised the global dominion of Islam, they will strive to
be instrumental in this promise coming about. They will strive
materially and spiritually. Allah's explicitcommand to believers is to
strive until Islam rules the world, until corruption leaves the world
and the religion isAllah's only. (Surat al-Anfal, 39) If prayer,
fasting and giving alms are Allah's command, then Allah also commands
Muslims to strive on His path until His religion rules the world.
Every Muslim has a duty to strive against corruption in order to make
good this promise of Allah's. In other words, they must strive against
irreligion, materialism and Darwinism, that hurt people and bestow
afflictions on them, that deprive them of their joy, that literally
turn them into robots and supposedly legitimize conflict, fighting and
selfishness. And that struggle must be on the level of ideas. All the
afflictions and troubles plaguing the world havean ideological
foundation. The pains in question cannot come toan end until that
foundation has been eliminated. And the foundations concerned is
Darwinism and materialism.
In waging a struggle against Darwinism and materialism, a Muslim also
has a responsibility to describe the evidence for the existence and
oneness of Allah, using the most pleasant, wise, warm and rational
language that will cause the other party to believe. He has a
responsibility to tell people of the truths of the Qur'an, the sublime
moral values of our Prophet (saas) and the Age of Happiness of Islam.
But this must be done in accordance withAllah's command "Strive
against them until there is no more discord and the religion belongs
to Allah alone." (Surat al-Baqara, 193) It is because of the influence
of the hypnosis of the antichrist that some people have lost hope
inthe global dominion of Islam, despite all the above truths. These
people forget Allah's explicit promise and glad tidings and they do
not think there is a one in a thousand or even one in a million chance
of the global dominion of Islam happening. In other words, they regard
Allah's promise asimpossible. When asked "could communism rule the
world?" These people say, "maybe." When asked, "could atheist
freemasonry rule the world?" they say, "ofcourse, why not?" When
asked, "could fascism, the USA, Europe or atheist Zionism rule the
world?" They regard the dominion of each of these as perfectly
reasonable. They only regard the dominion of Islam as being possible.
The reason for this is that, under the effect of the hypnosis of the
antichrist, their foresightis clouded over and they forget Allah's
promise. The fact is that every Muslim knows that Allah is He Who
definitely keeps His promises. He will mobilize all his resources and
wage an intellectual struggle to ensure the dominion of the religion
of Allah, whether Allah shows him that dominion or not. Those who
encourage apathy and sloth by ignoring Allah's promise, belittling, in
their own eyes, the struggle of those who strive for the global
dominion of Islam and who tell Muslims, "that dominion will never
happen," clearly do so under the influence of the sorcery of the
antichrist.
The Hypnosis of the antichrist Can Be Lifted through a Sincere,
Profound and Punctilious Faith
The End Times we are living is very holy and full of good tidings, but
they also impose important responsibilities on believers. No success
canbe achieved against the antichrist, described as the worst
corruption in human history, by ignoring him and behaving as if no
such situation existed. Muslims must grasp the danger, from all
aspects, if they are to take the most rational and effective
precautions. The hypnosis of the antichrist will be lifted from
everyone through the Prophet Jesus (as), asrevealed in the hadiths.
It is only possible to avoid this hypnosis and be protected against
thesorcery of the community of the antichrist through genuine and
profound faith. Since satan directlytargets the human brain,Muslims
can escape the hypnosis of the antichrist through prayer, by
submitting to Allah, by being sincere and be exhibiting a genuine
determination. Otherwise they may fall under this hypnosis. There is a
deep-rooted system in which one hypnosis is followed andsupported by
another.
In saying that the Prophet Jesus (as) and Hazrat Mahdi (as) can be
recognized by the light of faith, Bediuzzaman said that true believers
could be protected from the hypnosis of the community of the
antichrist through the light of faith and see thetruths that the
community of the antichrist wished to conceal.
Muslims in the End Timeshave to tear aside the curtain brought down by
the community of the antichrist. Therefore there has to be
powerfulconditioning against thepropaganda and conditioning of the
community of the antichrist. As Allah commands in the Qur'an,careful
attention, a clear mind and the state of submission that comes from
knowing that Allah is with us will keep believers from the hypnosis of
the antichrist. If the community of the antichrist seeks to prop its
own superstitious system up by way of conditioning, then Muslims must
neutralize that conditioning by frequently rememberingAllah,
constantly raising the solutions shown by our Prophet (saas), always
reminding people we are living in the End Times and tellingthem that
Hazrat Mahdi (as) and the Prophet Jesus (as) are at work, constantly
bringing up the importance of the unification of the Islamicworld and
striving for the global dominion of the moral values of Islam.

Evidence that Muhammadwas a Prophet

Question:
Prove that Muhammad is a true Prophet. What powers did God give him?
Please e-mail it as soonas possible.
Fatwa:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
is His slave and Messenger.
The signs that prove the prophecy of Muhammad are numerous. Many books
have beenwritten to enumerate them and thoroughly discuss them. We
would like to mention some of these signs as reported by Muslim
scholars and which prove that Muhammad was a real Prophet including:
- First, his good biography and high morals as well as the noble
qualities that distinguished him. He was known before becoming a
Prophet as a truthful and honest person, although the community where
he lived was a society of ignorance. This was, perhaps, the most
important sign of his prophecy. He was not known to have ever lied on
people. So, why should he lie on be half of the Lord by claiming that
he was a Prophet, if he was not a real Prophet?
- Second, the powers and triumphs Allaah gave him and thespread of the
religion he preached, as well as the triumph of this religion over all
existing religions in a short period of time. Had he been a liar,
Allaah would have humiliated and destroyed him as He did with those
before him who falsely claimed Prophethood.
- Third, the miracles Allaah gave him as supporting evidence were
beyond the ability of human beings and were beyond range ofnatural
phenomena. The moon split for him, water gushed from his fingers, food
became more abundant in his hands, and similar phenomena were
authentically reported and happened in a way that could notbe denied.
- Fourth, the Prophet was backed by the greatest miracle which is the
Quran . In fact, Quran was a challenge and remains a challenge for
Arabs who were known to be good poets and eloquent speakers. Allaah
challenged them to write a singleSurah (chapter) that would be similar
to that of Quran , but the Arabs were unable to do so. Indeed, the
challenge still endures, none of the Arabs throughout history - since
the revelation of the Quran - was ableto make anything that was even
similar to it. No doubt that the Quran has been preserved intact until
it came to us. Groups of people memorized it including children,
adults, males and females. So generations brought the Quran to
generations until it reached us as it was revealed 14 centuries ago.
Hence, the Quran remains intact protected from distortion or
alteration. Nothing has been added to it, nor taken from it. Quran is
full of scientific facts that were verified only in these times of
scientific investigation. No doubt that Muhammad who was illiterate
would not have possessed this knowledge 14 centuries ago. Doesn't this
prove the authenticity of the Quran and thatit is the Word of the
Creator of the Universe who knows all its secrets?
- Fifth, the things from the unseen that he (the Prophet ) informed us
about. Some of themoccurred during his life time. Others happened
later. Some of these things happened to the Prophets, may Allaah exalt
their mention, who preceded him and some are still to occur. He also
informed about the signs of The Day of Judgment, some of which had
already been seen such as widespread killings and genocide, adultery
and fornication and the consumption of the alcohol, outnumbering of
males by females and the increased number of earthquakes, and
afflictions,… etc.
- Sixth, the testimony of some of the people of the Book that he was a
true Prophet. Some of them believed in him like 'Abdullaah Ibn Salaam
who was a Jew as well as Negus (king of Abyssinia ) who was a
Christian. Some of the people of the Book certified that he was a
Prophet from Allaah but refused to follow him like Huyayy Ibn Akhtab.
The above are some of the signs that prove his Prophethood and the
authenticity of his revelations. We would like the questioner to visit
some of the Islamic centers in her area, and hopefully, they will
guide her to some useful references in the matter.

Muslims' position towards the Danish insulting cartoons

Question:
What is the solution to the Danish cartoon that was done in Europe?
How should a Sunni Muslim from the USA think about these heathens!
Fatwa:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
is His slave and Messenger.
Every Muslim should know that the defamation about the religion and
mocking the Prophet which happened along the centuries and which is
happeningnow is an affliction through which a Muslim should be
patient. The Prophet said:"How strange is the matter of a believer,
there is good in all his affairs, and this is only for the believer.
If something good happens to him and he is grateful, then this is good
for him, and if a calamity befalls him and he is patient, then this is
alsogood for him." [Muslim] The fact that people ridicule the Prophet
is not a new matter. Rather itis a very ancient matter that is being
renewed. The non-Muslims from the tribe of Quraysh insulted the
Prophet and theysaid that he was a poet, a magician and a mad man, and
they defamed him with other insults, but this did not harm the Prophet
and did not decrease his status. This [what happened] only increases
our firm belief in the Prophet and that he was truly a Prophet, and it
increases our love for him, and makes us abide by his orders.
Our advice to our Muslim brothers during these grave events and
similar incidents in addition to what we already mentioned is the
following:
1- To control oneself and take it easy, and not
hasten and do any act which maybe of a negative effect for the
Muslims. Rather, one should exploit these events in a way to serve
this religion, as these bitterincidents could yield sweet fruits.Ibn
Al-Qayyim said: 'Calamities and problems are afflictions and (in
reality are) blessings.' Indeed these incidentsdraw the attention of
the neglectful Muslims and result in their return to Allaah, and it is
a way of renovating the religion in the hearts of the Muslims, in
addition to other benefits that could be achieved.
2- It is an obligation to repent to Allaah and avoid sins and acts
of disobedience. Allaah Says (what means): {And whatever strikes you
of disaster, it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons
much.}[Quran 42:30]. Moreover, the Prophet said: "If you trade with
Ribaa (usury and interest), and stick to the tails of cows and are
pleased with the plantations [are busy with this worldly life], and
abandoned Jihaad (fighting in theCause of Allaah), Allaah will put you
through a humiliation which He will not remove from you untilyou
return to your religion." [AbuDaawood]
3- To ask the scholars about what to do and act according to their
advice, as a sign of acting according to the Saying of Allaah (which
means): {And when there comes to them something [i.e. information]
about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they
had referred itback to the Messenger or to those of authority among
them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it
wouldhave known about it. } [Quran 4:83]. Therefore, one should not
act [say or do anything] except according to the advice of these
scholars. We would like to stress on the importance of boycotting the
products of the countries which published these cartoons, and
undertaking other means which could achieve religious benefits. In
doing so, we have to focus on the country which caused the spread of
this evil, and we should completely and totally boycott its
products, services and medicines until they taste the outcome of their
evil acts.
4- To unite: By uniting, the nation will become powerful, andwe
should be careful of divisions, as this weakens the nation. Allaah
Says (what means): {And hold firmly to the rope of Allaah all together
and do not become divided.}[Quran 3:103]. Allaah Says(what means):
{And obey Allaah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose
courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed,
Allaah is with the patient.}[Quran 8:46].
Finally, it should be noted that the above advice and directives are
required from the Muslims at all times, and that they [directives] are
more confirmed when such events and incidents happen.

Questions that the Jews posed to the Prophet

Question:
I heard that when Prophet Muhammad started preaching Islam, the Jews
were very upset and they wanted to test him to find out whether he was
a true Prophet, so they prepared 40 difficult questions and asked him.
Is this true, if yes, please, explain what are the 40 questions and
what were the answers given by the Prophet Muhammad?
Fatwa:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
is His slave and Messenger.
No doubt that the Jews disbelieved in what Allaah revealed to our
Prophet Muhammad and hated it. They were envious of him - except a
few of them - because he was not one of them, i.e. did not descend
from the children of Israel .
Allaah Says (which means): } And when there came to them a Book[i.e.
the Quran] from Allaah confirming that which was with them - although
before they usedto pray for victory against those who disbelieved -
but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they
disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allaah will be upon the
disbelievers. How wretched is that for which they sold themselves -
that they would disbelieve in what Allaah has revealed through [their]
outrage that Allaah would send down His favor upon whom He wills from
among His servants. So they returned having [earned] wrath upon wrath.
And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment .} [Quran
2:89-90].
However, we do not know of any authentic Hadeeth stating that they
prepared forty questions for the Prophet and asked him about them.
What is proved in the books of Imaans Al-Bukhaari and Ahmad as well as
otherauthentic sources is that they asked him seven questions.
Al-Bukhaari reported that Anas narrated that when 'Abdullaah Ibn
Salaam heard about the arrival of the Prophet to Madeenah, he came to
himand asked him about some things saying: "I will ask about three
things that none except a messenger knows: what is the first sign of
the Hour? What is the first meal that the dwellers of Paradise eat?
Why is it that the child sometimes resembles his father and other
times his mother?" The Prophet said:"Jibreel (Gabriel) informed about
this earlier. Ibn Salaam said:"That is the Jews' enemy from the
angels." The Prophet said: "As for the first sign of the Hour, it is
a fire that gathers the people from the East and the West. As for the
first meal that the dwellers of Paradise eat, it is a portion of the
fish liver. As for the child, if the water (i.e. sperm)of the man
comes before that of the woman, the child resembles his father and if
the mother's water comes first then the child resembles her.
Thereupon, Ibn Salaam said: "I bear witness that none has the right of
being worshipped but Allaah and that you are His messenger." Then Ibn
Salaam said: "O Prophet of Allaah, the Jews are people of falsehood.
So ask them about me before they realize that I havebecome Muslim.
The Jews came and the Prophet asked them:"How do you grade 'Abdullaah
Ibn Salaam within your community." They said: "Our best and the son
of our best." Thereupon, the Prophet said:"What if 'Abdullaah Ibn
Salaam becomes Muslim?" They said:"May Allaah protect
him from that!" The Prophet then repeated the same questions and the
Jews repeated the same answers. At that time, 'Abdullaah Ibn Salaam
came out to them and said: 'I bear witness that none has the right to
be worshipped but Allaah and that Muhammad is His messenger.'
Thereupon, they (theJews) said: "He is our worst and the son of our
worst," and demeaned him. Ibn Salaam said: 'This is what I feared, O
Prophet of Allaah."
Ahmad reported that Ibn Abbaas said: "A group of Jewscame one day to
the Prophet and said: 'O Abu Al-Qaasim, tell us some things that only
true messengers of Allaah know.' The Prophet said: "Ask me about
whatever you wish, but promise me by the Name of Allaah and by the
covenant Prophet Ya'qoob took from his sons, that if I tell something
that you know, then you will follow me and become Muslims." They
said:"That's for you." Thereupon they said: "Tell us about the
following four things: tell us about the meal that Israel forbade
himself before the revelation of the Torahand tell us about the water
(sperm) of the woman and the water of the man how is the male child
formed from that? And tell us this illiterate Prophet during his
sleep and who is his guardian from the angels." The Prophet said: "Do
you accept by the covenant of Allaah that you will follow me if I
inform you?" They gave him as much covenant and promise as he wished.
Then the Prophet said: "I ask you by the One Who revealed the Torah
to Moosaa do you know that Israel (Ya'qoob ) fell badly sick and his
sickness took a long time, then he made a vow to Allaah that he would
forbid on himself the food he liked most if Allaah cures him, and the
food he liked most was camel meat and the drink was camel milk. They
said:"Yes." He said:
"O Allaah testify against them." Then he said: "I ask you by Allaah,
the One Who has no partners Who revealed the Torah to Moosaa do you
know that the man's water is white and thick and that the woman's
water is yellow and thin. Any of the two waters gets above the other
gets the resemblance of the child in his sex and charactersby the will
of Allaah. If the water of the man gets over the woman it is a male
by the Will of Allaah and if the water of the woman gets above that of
the man then it is a female by the Will of Allaah. They said: 'By
Allaah what you said is true.' The Prophet said: "O Allaah testify
against them."
Then he said: "I ask you by the One Who revealed Torah to Moosaa do
you know that the eyes of this illiterate Prophet sleep but his heart
does not." They said: 'By Allaah that is true.' He said: "O Allaah,
testify against them." They said: 'You, now tell us about your
guardian from the angels, we will stay with you or leave you according
to that.' He said: "My guardian is Jibreel (Gabriel) and Allaah never
sent any Prophet but he was his guardian." The Jews said: 'So, wewill
separate from you. Had your guardian been another angel not Jibreel,
we would have followed you and believed in what you brought.'
The Prophet said: "But what prevents you from believing in him?" They
said: 'He is our enemy.' Then Allaah revealed thefollowing verses
(which means): } Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is [none
but] he who has brought it [i.e. the Quran] down upon your heart, [O
Muhammad], by permission of Allaah, …} [Quran 2:97] . Allaah Says
(which means): } And when aMessenger from Allaah came to them
confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been
given the Scripture threw away the Book of Allaah behind their backs
as if they did not know .} [Quran 2:101] . Allaah Says (which means):
} So they returned having [earned] wrath upon wrath { [Quran 2:90].

Commentary on the verse “so wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allaah” .

Names and Attributes of Allah - Could you explain the following ayaah?
If Allahis above the heavens, why is Allah face there wherever you
face?
I am only asking this because I was explainingthat Allah was above the
heavens to somebody, and he qouted this ayah;I could not respond to
him after that.
Al-Baqarah - 2:115
And to Allâh belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn
yourselves or your faces there is the Face of Allâh (and He is High
above, over His Throne). Surely! Allâh
is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knowing.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
We are obliged to believe that Allaah has risen above His throne ina
manner that befits His majesty, not in a mannerthat resembles human
movement, and to believe that Allaah has a Face that is not like the
faces of His creation.
So we should not go astray when interpreting verses and we must not
distort theirmeanings; we should follow the views of the righteous
salaf concerning that.
With regard to the tafseer (commentary) onthis verse, Shaykh Ibn
'Uthaymeen said:
If you ask whether everymention of the wajh (face) with reference to
Allaah means the Face of Allaah which is one of His attributes, the
answer is that this is the basic principle. Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"And turn not away those who invoke their Lord, morning and afternoon
seeking His Face"
[al-An'aam 6:52].
"And who has (in mind) no favour from anyone to be paid back,
Except to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High.
He surely, will be pleased(when he will enter Paradise)"
[al-Layl 92:19-21]
And there are other similar verses.
The basic principle is that what is meant by wajh is the Face of
Allaah which is one of His attributes. But there is a verse concerning
which the mufassireen differed, which is this verse (interpretation of
the meaning):
"And to Allaah belong the east and the west, sowherever you turn
(yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allaah"
[al-Baqarah 2:115] Some of them said that what is meant by wajh here
is direction, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"For every nation there is a direction to which they face (in their prayers)"
[al-Baqarah 2:148]
So what is meant by wajh here is direction, so "there is the wajh of
Allaah" means there is the direction of prayer which Allaah accepts.
They said: because whentravelling, if a person offers naafil prayers
he can pray in whatever direction he is facing.
But the correct view is that what is meant by wajh here is the Face of
Allaah. So wherever you turn there is the Face of Allaah, because
Allaah encompasses all things, and because it was proven from the
Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) thatwhen the
worshipper stands to pray, Allaah in front of him. Hence it is
forbidden for the worshipper to spit in front of him, because Allaah
is in front of him. So if you pray in a place where you do not know
where the qiblah is, but you do your best to figure it out and pray,
and the qiblah is in fact behind you, then Allaah is in front of you
even in this situation.
This is the correct meaning which is in accordance with the apparent
meaning of the verse, and the first meaning does not in factcontradict
it.
So the two meanings do not contradict one another.
It should be noted that this mighty Face which isdescribed in terms of
majesty and honour cannot be fully encompassed by human descriptions
and imagination. Rather everything that you can think of, Allaah is
above that and is greater.
"but they will never compass anything of His Knowledge"
[Ta-Ha 20:110 – interpretation of the meaning]
With regard to the verse (interpretation of the meaning):
"Everything will perish save His Face"
[al-Qasas 28:88]
What this means is that everything will perish except His Essence of
which s His Face is one ofthe attributes.
Sharh al-'Aqeedah al-Waasitiyyah by Ibn 'Uthaymeen, 1/243-245.
We should not compare the Creator to His creation and imagine Him in
terms of His creation, for Allaah is as He has said of Himself
(interpretation of the meaning):
"There is nothing like Him"
[al-Shoora 42:11]
So Allaah has risen above His Throne, and He faces the worshipper when
he prays, and there is no contradictionbetween them with regard to
Allaah.
Some people were similarly confused about the issue of Allaah
descending during the last third of the night to the lowest heaven.
They said that the night is not the same throughout theearth, so how
can Allaah descend during the night and day at the same time?
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen said:
Later generations who knew that the earth is round and that the sun
revolves around the earth said: how can He descend during the last
third of the night, when the last third of the night moves from the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabiaand goes to Europe and areas nearby? We say:
now you are comparing the attributes of Allaah to the attributes of
created beings. If you believe it you do not have to do anything
beyond that, so do not ask how.
Rather say: When it is the last third of the night in the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia, then Allaahdescends, and when it is the last third of
the night in America, Allaah descends then as well.
So our attitude is that we believe what has reached us via Muhammad
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and that Allaah descends
to the lowest heaven when there is one third of the night left, and
says, "Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask of
Me, that Imay give him? Who will ask My forgiveness that I may forgive
him?"
Sharh al-Waasitiyyah, 2/437.
And Allaah knows best.
