*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being,and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Fathwa, - Increasing Weight DuringRamadan

:->

Question:
How can I increase my weight duringRamadan, or at least maintain the same weight, because I am very skinny?
Answer:
Assalaamu ‘Alaykum, dear sister Maha.
I hope that you are not skinny due to a physical problem, like being diabetic for example. This does not seem to be the case from the way you stated your question.
Therefore, I advise you to consume more of the types of food that result in an increase in one’s weight. Make sure that your meals include more calories than your body needs.
Your food must include more of the following:
Nuts
Dried fig
Dates
Sesame
Fenugreek
Anise
Honey
Bananas
Fresh fruit juice
Full fat milk
Rice
Wheat
Barley
Oats
French fries
Carbohydrates
Your must stay away from anything that could result in emotional and psychological disorders and make sure you recite the Quran more often, because it is a cure in itself, and gives tranquility and peace of mind.

Fathwa, - The Impact of Fasting on Blood Pressure

:->

Question:
I have a question regarding a drop in blood pressure: does it affect fasting? Please give me some details on the issue, and what are the cases of high blood pressure that could prevent a person from fasting?
Answer:
Assalaamu ‘Alaykum,
Perhaps you meant to ask about the impact fasting has on blood pressure. Blood pressure should not prevent a person from fasting unless it is high enough to require medication to maintain its level and one cannot wait until he breaks his fast to take such medication. Normally, such high blood pressure )diastolic 140( is accompanied by the failure of vital organs, like the kidneys, the retina, the heart or the lungs, and thus one cannot wait until she breaks his fast to consume the medication. This is also the case when the blood pressure is very low. However, normal blood pressure does not prevent one from fasting.
Does being a person with an abnormal blood pressure necessarily mean that he cannot fast? The answer to this is no, because he can schedule his medicine to be consumed after she breaks the fast. She can take all the needed doses from sunset to dawn, before she starts to fast. However, she must only do so after consulting her physician, because circumstances differ from one patient to another, and it also depends on the type of medication one must take. All these matters are usually stated on the prescription.

Marital Life, - Ten Tips to increase Love Between the Spouses

:->

Everyone wants to increase the amount of capital in the bank and searches for the means to increase his wealth. Similarly, everyone wishes to increase the affection and love he shares with his wife, so he should search for suitable means to increase the amount of love and faithfulness between them. We will mention some of them:
1-Exchanging gifts, even if they are symbolic. Putting a rose on her pillow before sleeping has a wonderful effect. A tiny colored card with beautiful words written on it is effective. When the man pays the cost of the gift, he is more than repaid when he sees his wife's shining face, gentle smile, praising of his good choice, mercy and pleasure in the house. The wife should also be keen on offering her husband presents.
2-Determining a time to sit together and listen attentively and eagerly to each other. Some scholars who explained theHadeethof Umm Zar‘ wondered at how the Prophet,sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, listened to the long speech of ‘Aa’ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, when she narrated this long story.
3-Glances which are filled with love and admiration. Feelings between the spouses cannot be exchanged through fulfilling formal obligations or through exchanging words of love only. Rather, many of them can be exchanged through non-verbal signs such as facial expressions, tone of voice and the glances of the eyes. All these are means of emotional and psychological satisfaction. Will spouses then learn the language of the eyes? Will spouses learn the art of using their tone of voice and facial expressions? The language of the eyes has a power to charm the hearts!
4-Passionate greeting and farewell when entering and leaving, traveling and returning, and via the telephone.
5-Praising the wife, making her feel his moderate protective jealousy for her and not holding her in comparison with another.
6-Participating with her in matters, such as planning the future, tidying the collection of books, helping in cooking, arranging for matters related to the children, writing down the needs of the home and other tasks which would be a cause for kind treatment, laughter and building affection.
7-Good words and emotional expressions with soft, warm words; such as, informing her of his love and that she is one of the bestowed favors of Allaah The Almighty upon him.
8-Calm times spent together and allocating a time for dialogue and talking that is interposed with some fun and laughter away from the problems, children and their crying and quarreling. This has a great effect on the intimacy and love between the spouses.
9-Maintaining a balance between giving in and giving up. This is an important means that one should not extremely give in or altogether give up his friend. Any tense inclination toward affection and loving excessively are forbidden. Giving up requires some wit and intelligence; there should be neither excess nor negligence. Excess in either of the two approaches results in the end of longing and love which may lead to several problems in marital life.
10-Interaction between the spouses, especially in times of crises, for example, when the wife becomes ill or becomes pregnant, and consequently she needs physical and emotional care, or the husband becomes annoyed for some reason and needs moral support and someone to stand by him. Feeling pain because of the other’s pain has the greatest effect in building affection between the spouses and bringing them closer to each other and more loving.
