*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dought & clear, - I want to strengthen my faith.

could you please write me something inspirational that will lift my iman.
I do the basics required by me pray fast, make dua, read islamic literature be good to my parents, give sadaqa but I just don't feel like I'm doing anything extra, or striving and making jihad. Please help me.
Praise be to Allaah.
On this site there is an essay entitled “Weakness of Faith, which gives a detailed description of the weakness of faith that many people suffer, and explains the causes and the remedy. We advise you to read it. Here is the link:
[ http://63.175.194.25 /books/dofuleeman /english.html].
There follow two pieces of advice from major scholars, in addition to the above, summing up what is required on your part:
1 – We advise you to read Qur’aan a great deal, listen to its recitation and ponder the meanings of what you read and listen to, as much as you can. If you find anything difficult to understand then ask the scholars in your country or write to other Sunni scholars for advice.
We also advise you to remember Allaah a great deal (dhikr) with the dhikrs narrated in the saheeh ahaadeeth, such as “Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah(there is no god except Allaah)”, “Subhaan-Allaah wa’l-hamdu Lillaah wa laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wa Allaahu akbar(Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah and Allaah is Most Great)”, and so on. For more information on this seeal-Kalim al-Tayyibby Ibn Taymiyah;al-Waabil al-Sayyibby Ibn al-Qayyim;Riyaadh al-Saaliheen[available in English];al-Adhkaar al-Nawawiyyahby Imaam al-Nawawi, and so on.
Remembering Allaah (dhikr) increases faith and brings peace of mind. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“verily, in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find rest”
[al-Ra’d 13:28]
Regularly perform acts of worship such as prayer, fasting and the other pillars of Islam, whilst hoping for the mercy of Allaah and putting your trust in Him in all your affairs. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur’aan) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone);
Who perform As-Salaah (Iqaamat‑as‑ Salaah) and spend out of that We have provided them.
It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise).” [al-Anfaal 8:2]
Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas, 3/185, 186
2 – Faith is also increased by obeying Allaah, and it decreases when one disobeys Him. So adhere to doing that which Allaah has enjoined such as performing the prayers on time in congregation in the mosque, praying zakaah willingly to purify yourself of sin and show compassion towards the poor and needy, sitting with good and righteous people so that they will help you to apply sharee’ah and guide you to that which will bring you happiness in this world and in the Hereafter.
Avoid the followers of bid’ah and sinners, lest they tempt you and weaken your resolve to do good.
Do a lot of voluntary good actions, turn to Allaah, and ask Him for strength.
If you do that, Allaah will increase you in faith and you will make up for lost time, and Allaah will increase you in goodness and steadfastness in adhering to Islam.

For children, - Muslim Friends Stories: Mayonnaise and the Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee...
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things, your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend." Please share this with someone you care about.

Fathwa, - His wife and son have regular incestuous relations together

Question
Respected Sheikh, I am a man in my late sixties and recently discovered that my 33 year old wife has regular incestuous relations with my 17 years old son. When I confronted them they denied it, but one day I came home unexpectedly and found them in the act. They repented and promised not to do it again. I am devastated and don’t know what to do. I beg you to tell me in the light of the Quran and hadith what course of actions I shall take.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammadis His slave and Messenger.
If what you mentioned in the question about your wife and your son is true, then they have committed an abominable and obnoxious sin, as Zina )fornication or adultery( is a grave major sin. This sin is even graver when it happens between the Mahaarim )unmarriageable relatives( as your wife is eternally forbidden to your son )for marriage(. Allaah says )what means(: }And do not marry those ]women[ whom your fathers married, except what has already occurred. Indeed, it was an immorality and hateful ]to Allaah[ and was evil as a way.{]Quran 4:22[ However, if they had both truly repented, then they did well.
Now, if your wife becomes righteous and shows good conduct, then you should keep her and have good marital relations with her and do not hold her accountable for what she had done, but you are obligated not to have sexual relations with her until you make sure that she is not pregnant from Zina by the passing of one menstrual period.
Also, you should be keen on disciplining both of your wife and son and teaching them the matters of their religion as what they did is mostly due to ignorance and negligence. Allaah says )what means(: }O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are ]appointed[ angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allaah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.{]Quran 66:6[Ibn ‘Abbaassaid )while interpreting the above verse(: “That is to say to discipline them and teach them.”
On the other hand, if you are suspicious about your son in the future, then you should take the matter firmly in hand and prevent him from being in seclusion with your wife and prevent her from appearing in his presence without Hijaab. Likewise, if you are suspicious about your wife, then there is no good in keeping her as your wife; rather you should divorce her so that she would not contaminate your bed and give birth to children who are not from you.
Finally, it should be noted that committing Zina is generally due to being lenient in matters that lead to it, like a woman appearing in front of men )other than her husband( in an inappropriate manner, like wearing revealing clothes and so forth. So, one should be careful about this.
Allaah Knows best.
