*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

NEWS - Real facts ~ Winglets, a technology “stolen” from the birds?

The bird's flight has always fascinated the man since ancient times.
Their grace and elegance in spreading their wings and fly-off, has
been a reason of deep thinking for the man who seeks answers. Since
the Ancient Greece time, the great philosophers of that era reflected
on the fact that how it was possible for some creatures to rise up in
the sky and cover amazing distances with such a great harmony. A
famous greek mythology legend states that Icarus was the first man to
fly.
The attempts for man to fly has been unsuccesful until December17th,
1903 when Wright Brothers managed to accomplishthe fateful task so
much desired by the men of all the times. This first flight lasted 61
meters at a speed of about 43 km/h using a rudimentary airplane built
by thesame two brothers. From that day, the technological advance has
allowed the improvement in an exceptional way of that first
rudimentary attempt to imitate the bird's flight. Today, we can see
airplanes of different sizes and shapes fly in the skies of theEarth
like birds. As probably everyone of us know, the airplanes' wing
perfectly imitate those of the birds. Like the bird'swings, those of
the airplanes do have the upper part curved and not just flat. In this
way, when engines generate a thrust, that particular shape makes
possible for the air that flows in the upper part of the wing travel
faster than that in the lower part.As a consequence, a vertical thrust
is generated which allows to overcome the gravity force and in this
way the plane can lift up and fly like a bird.
That description presented above is a semplified one, since a lot of
complex mathematics and physics is need to acurately describe the
dynamic of flight, but that allows to grasp the simple principle that
is behind the technology that everyone or almost of us have personally
experimented. But man didn't stop here. He wanted again to draw
inspiration from the masters of flight which are the birds. Big birds
like eagles, hawks, vultures etc. do have wings with a particular
structure with respect to the many other varieties of birds. At their
wing's extremities, they have some "winglets" of different sizes which
allows to eliminate the vertical vortex created around the wing and
this fact can reduce the drag experimented by the wing (fig. 2, 3).
Indeed, during the flight these winglets curve-up almost vertically
making the wing non-planar andso greatly reduce the drag. With such a
particular wing structure, these big birds can fly with the minimum
effort and without consuming a lot of energy. Only recently man has
realized this fact and could "copy" and implement this astonishing
detailfor his own purposes. Now, a great number of air companies equip
their airplanes with this apparently simple device (fig. 1,4). Just
like those of the birds, these man-made winglets make possible to
eliminate vortexes (fig. 1) that are created around the plane's wings
and with the consequence that:
 -the airplane's fuel consumption is reduced so it also pollutes less
- using these winglets, the airplane needs smaller wings to generate
the same vertical lift compared with that which doesn't have them. In
this way, one can build smaller airplanes that consume less fuel and
need smaller airports
As we have seen till now, the birds are perfect flying machines,
designed in the most efficient and perfect possible way. From these
marvelous creatures, man has been able to draw his inspiration and
build his own flying machines and realize his biggest dream: to fly
like a bird. With the discoveries about these winglets, Allah has
showed us again His infinite power and wisdom.
"Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky?
None holds them up except Allah . Indeed in that aresigns for a people
who believe." (Surat An-Nahl, 79)
"Haven't they looked at the birds above them, with wings outspread and
folded back? Nothing holds them up but the All-Merciful. He sees all
things." (Qur'an, 67: 19)

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ Satan's pride has led him to denial until doomsday

Pride and obstinacy, the deification and elevation of earthly desires
in other words, are two of the main subjects on which people are
tested in this world. God reveals in the Qur'an that pride and
arrogance are a characteristic of deniers and those who deviate into
blasphemy: But those who do not believe are full of vainglory and
entrenched in hostility. (Surah Sad, 2)
Someone who wishes to raise his pride has discounted everything he
loves. He will do anything, become contrary and unpleasant, and
experience the soullessness and negativity of acting in contravention
of the Qur'an. He will forego his love for someone else for the sake
of his own pride in a single moment. Most important of all, however,
he prefers his own pride to the love of God. And he will persist in
his pride even at the risk of losing God's approval. By thus deifying
and elevating his own desires he sets himself up in opposition to God.
(God is beyond that.)
The pride of Satan, who forewent God's pleasure and his place in
paradise by glorifying himself and who devoted himself throughout the
life of world to misleading human beings for the sake of that pride,is
an obvious example of this. God describes Satan's position in the
following verses:
When your Lord said to the angels, 'I am creating a human being out of
dried clay formed from fetid black mud When I have formed him and
breathed My Ruh into him, fall down in prostration in front of him!'
Then the angels prostrated all together, every one of them – except
Satan. He disdained to be one of the prostrators. He said, 'Satan,
what is it that prevents you being among the prostrators?' He said, 'I
will not prostrate to a human being whom You have created out of dried
clay formed from fetid black mud.' He said, 'Get out from here, you
are accursed. Thecurse will be on you till the Day of Reckoning.' He
said, 'My Lord, grant me a reprieve until the Day they are raised
again.' He said, 'You are among the reprieved until the Day whose time
is known.' He said, 'My Lord, because You misled me, I will make
things on the earth seem good to them and I will mislead them all,
every one of them, except Your servants among them who are sincere.'
(Surat al-Hijr, 28-40)
Satan's obstinacy and pride is a sign of the dimension of the scourge
he represents. His preference for his own pride over the love of God
and the blessings bestowed by Him, his desire, resulting from the
fierceness of that pride, to cause people to deviate from the true
path throughout the life of this world, and the way that he does this
so blatantly, in contravention of God's desire, and knowing that he
will go to hell, are all significant in terms ofthe dimension of this
scourge.
The example of Satan is a reality that reveals that people who love
pride are not really capable of love. There is very definitely no room
for feelings such as peace, security, friendship, loyalty, brotherhood
or altruism. There is literally nobody else around for anyone who is
prepared to give up the ones he loves for the sake of his pride. He is
all alone with his earthly desires and deified pride.
Our Almighty Lord has warned people against this danger and described
how Satan will at the end of the day always abandon then:
He led me astray from the Reminder after it came to me.' Satan always
leaves man in the lurch. (Surat al-Furqan, 29)
Anyone wishing to elevate his earthly desires is very definitely
demeaned in the sight of God. Herewards such demeaned people in the
hereafter and, if He so chooses, in this world. Our Lord has said that
Satan, whom He expelled from paradise for his pride, is actually one
of the demeaned:
He said, 'Descend from Heaven. It is not for you to be arrogant in it.
So get out! You are one of the abased.' (Surat al-A'raf, 13)
The moral values praised by God are those of people who do not exalt
their earthly desires, who are never the captives of their own pride,
who know that God gives all things and that they stand in need of Him,
and who are aware of their own helplessness. Nobody who constantly
bears these things in mind can ever become proud, or elevate his own
earthly desires in the belief that the blessings given him by our Lord
really belong to him, not forget his own helplessness and imagine that
he is a great human being. People who bear these things in mind are
the friends of God. They constantly give thanks to Him. They know that
they need God, and hope to live pleasant lives and for the best in the
hereafter with His help, mercy and love. They have God's approval and
friendship, and so they have no need for anything else. People living
in that awareness of course have the best knowledge of love and
loyalty and the value of their blessings.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ Diseases are a part of our test

What is the reason behind the diseases?
Diseases are one of those things in our lives reminding us of howweak
we truly are. Our perfectly protected bodies can be severelyimpaired
by a tiny bacteria or a virus that is invisible to naked eye. Actually
a little thinking will make us understand that it is surprising for
our bodies to be so heavily affected by a bacteria. It is so, because
Allah created ourbody with flawless protection systems, especially
our immune system. It can be comfortably called a 'strong army'
fighting against the enemies of our body. However, despite all these
protective systems, humans can'thelp but fall ill very frequently.
This should make us understand that Allah could have created us in
such a way that we would never get ill. Viruses, bacteria would not
affect us at all, or these tiny 'enemies' specially prepared would not
have existed at all. However, any person, at any time, can find
himself struggling with a health problem for no apparent reason. For
example, one virus entering the body through a small cut on the skin
can spread throughout the body in a short amount of time. No matter
how advanced the technology is, the simplest virus can overpower us
very easily.
These are not far-fetched scenarios, they can happen to anyone at
anytime; this should make everyone ponder on these facts thoroughly.
Just like all other weaknesses, diseases also are specially created by
Allah for us. Man has a tendency to be arrogant and conceited,
forgetfulof his weaknesses. These diseases help man see and understand
his weaknesses and also see the true, undesirable nature of this life.
The diseases are tests created by Allah so that Muslims will long for
heaven, contemplate the blessings, the gift of health granted to them
by Allah and give thanks to Him and also realize how weak they are,
which should make them surrender to Allah with all their hearts.
Man tends to take many things for granted in life. However, all those
things in this world that we love so much are simply the blessings
created by Almighty Allah.
For example, many people forgetthat it is a huge blessing that every
morning we are able to get up and stand and walk easilyon our feet.
However, a tiny problem in one foot could cause a big problem,
impeding daily activities. A person who has a foot ache will then be
able to better appreciate the thousand steps he takes during the day
without feeling any pain.
A devout Muslim takes this and many other seemingly unimportant things
as opportunities to give thanks to Allah and get closer to Him. He
remembers that Allah gave him agreat blessing by making him a healthy
person. He also sees one more time that it is Allah that gives the
disease and only Allah can heal him, and therefore turnsto Allah for
recovery. Every moment when there is a feeling of pain, he remembers
Allah and keeps his heart focused on Allah all the time.
He who created me and guides me;
He who gives me food and gives me drink;
and when I am ill, it is He who heals me;
He who will cause my death, then give me life;
He who I sincerely hope will forgive my mistakes on the Dayof Reckoning.
My Lord, give me right judgment and unite me with the salihun;
and make me highly esteemed among the later peoples;
and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight,"
(Ash-Shu'ara', 78-85)
Diseases make us understand that being attached to this world is
utterly pointless. They also show us that everything we have is a part
of our test. in thisway we can understand that weare only the poor
servants of Allah and can be easily defeated and even killed by germs.
Allah created us, and He protects us from all kinds of dangers
surrounding us. No matter how much one tries to think otherwise and
try to persuade himself that he is powerful, he can never help or even
protect himself if Allah doesn't wish it. If Allah wills it, Allah can
give one diseases and create other weaknesses in his body that will
perfectly make him understand his frailty .
This life is a place of testing created by Allah. Every person is
responsible for spending his life in a way that pleases Allah and
istested constantly for this purpose. Those who are following the
orders of Allah anddisplay good morals will deserveto live in heaven
forever. However, those who continue to be arrogant and prefer a
couple of decades of this life over eternal heaven will not be able
torid themselves from weaknesses, troubles and problems both in this
world and in the hereafter.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ The Best Quality is to Have Trust in Allaah

Shaykh ul-Islaam ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullaah
As for the next part of the question, about the most valuablequality
to aim for, then the answer to this is that the best prize is to have
trust in Allaah, reliance upon Him of His sufficiency, and keeping a
good opinion of Him, the latter being that if anyone is anxious
regarding their sustenance then he should turn to the shelter of
Allaah, as the Exalted said, from what is narrated by His Prophet,
sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam,
"O My servants, all of you are hungry except for those I have fed, so
seek food of Me and I shallfeed you. O My servants, all of you are
naked except for those I have clothed, so seek clothing of Me and I
shall clothe you." [Upon Aboo Dharr, related by Muslim, at-Tirmidhee,
and Ahmad]
In this regard there is also a hadeeth which at-Tirmidhee narrates
from Anas (radiyallaahu `anhu), who said that the Messenger of Allaah
(salalllaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
"Each of you should ask for his needs from Allaah, even if the strap
of your sandal breaks, because if Allaah does not facilitate it, it
will never be possible."
Allaah the Most High says in His Book:
"...But ask Allaah for His bounty..." [4:32]
"And when the prayer is finished, then you may disperse through the
land, and seek the Bounty of Allaah..." [62:10]
Although this aayah is in the context of the congreagational Friday
prayer, its meaning appliesto all the prayers. That is why- and Allaah
knows best - the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam instructed the
person entering the mosque to say,
"AllaahummaftaH lee abwaaba raHmatik" (O Allaah! open the doors of
Your mercy for me)
and when leaving the mosque to say,
"Allaahumma innee as'aluka min faDlik" (O Allaah! I ask of You some of
Your Bounty)
[Muslim, Aboo Daawood, an-Nasaa'ee, ad-Daarimee, ibn Maajah, Ahmad,
Aboo 'Awaanah, Abdur-Razzaaq and al-Baihaqee]
Also the Friend of Allaah (i.e. Ibraaheem, `alayhis salaam) had said,
"...then seek sustenance from Allaah, serve Him, and be grateful to
Him." [29:17]
This is a command, and a command signifies obligation. Therefore, to
seek help from Allaah and to entreat to Him in thematter of livelihood
and others is a fundamental principle. Furthermore, it is important in
seeking a livelihood that one should acquire wealth with generosity of
heart and not with greed so that he may be blessed in it. Neither
should he make the wealth the primary aim; rather, heshould regard
wealth much as he regards the toilet, which he has need of but it has
no place in his heart, and he only resorts to it when necessary.
A marfoo` (i.e. report consisting of a chain of narration that goes
back to the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) hadeeth which is
related by at-Tirmidhee and others states that, "He who beginsthe
morning with this world as his greatest concern, Allaah disperses his
collected gains and puts its loss in front of him, and only that of
the world comes to him which is written for him. And he who begins the
morning with the Hereafter as his greatest concern, Allaah gathers for
him his works and creates richness in his heart due to them, and the
world comes to him subserviently." [Related by at-Tirmidhee with a
da`eef isnaad, but the hadeeth is saheeh due to the supporting
narrations of ibn Maajah, Ibn Hibbaan and Ahmad]
One of the Salaf said, " Each of you is in need of the world, but you
are in more need of your portion in the Hereafter. Therefore, if you
are in search of your portion in the Hereafter firstand foremost, then
you will achieve your portion of the worldin passing, such that it is
taken care of as it comes."
Allaah the Exalted says:
"I have only created jinn and men that they may worship Me. No
sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should
feed Me. For Allaah is He who gives (all) sustenance, Lord of Power,
Steadfast (forever)." [51:56-58]

Qur'an Ayath Explanation - ~ Do You See it In Yourself?

One of Allah's names is Al-Wadood, The Most Loving, and this is
appropriate because a Creator must have love in order to create works
of beauty and power. Allah created you out of love. He created you
with intent. He created you to succeed, not to fail, and He gave you
all the tools that you need to thrive. Open your eyes and see what a
miracle you are, what a thing of beauty, what a gift to the world. I
see thatin every person I know. If I met you, I'm sure I would see the
miracle and beauty in you too. Doyou see it in yourself?

NEWS - ~ Hey doodle doodle!

CELEBRATING EVENTS Google doodles Photos: M. Periasamy
Since 1998, Google has been marking important days with signature
doodles that have attracted a legion of fans
Google, our mantra, in blue, red, yellow and green. Google is homepage
to a staggering number of people. And a lot of them look forward to
the innovative ways search giant Google celebrates international
birthdays, anniversaries, innovations and events — with its signature
doodles.
Google doodles were started in 1998 by founders Larry and Sergey.
Amrita Parekh, a graduate from the National Institute of Fashion
Technology, Chennai, is a great fan. "I love them because they are
interactive and creative. My favourite so far has been the oneon the
First Day of Fall 2012. I feltlike I was looking at a painting by
post-impressionist painter Georges Suerat," she says. The doodle shows
falling leaves making up the letters of the logo."What I loved about
this piece was that the designers didn't have to try too hard. You
just knew it read 'Google'." On April 24, there was another birthday
doodle that caught one's attention. It was George Sundback's 132nd
birthday. He was the man who invented the zip. A click on a zippered
up doodle, and the logo unzipped itself to provide information on the
inventor.

HISTORY - of Sahabas~ Abdullah ibn Abbas

Abdullah was the son of Abbas, an uncle of the noble Prophet. Hewas
born just three years beforethe Hijrah. When the Prophet died,
Abdullah was thus only thirteen years old.
When he was born, his mother took him to the blessed Prophet who put
some of his saliva on the babe's tongue even before he began to
suckle. This was the beginning of the close and intimate tie between
Abbas and the Prophet that was to be part of a life-long love and
devotion.
When Abdullah reached the age of discretion, he attached himselfto the
service of the Prophet. He would run to fetch water for himwhen he
wanted to make wudu. During Salat, he would stand behind the Prophet
in prayer and when the Prophet went on journeys or expeditions, he
would follow next in line to him. Abdullah thus became like the shadow
of the Prophet, constantly in his company.
In all these situations he was attentive and alert to whatever the
Prophet did and said. His heart was enthusiastic and his young mind
was pure and uncluttered, committing the Prophet's words to memory
withthe capacity and accuracy of a recording instrument. In this way
and through his constant researches later, as we shall see, Abdullah
became one of the most learned companions of the Prophet, preserving
on behalf of later generations of Muslims, the priceless words of the
Messenger of God. It is said that he committed to memory about one
thousand, six hundred and sixty sayings of the Prophet which are
recorded and authenticated in the collections of al-Bukhari and
Muslim.
The Prophet would often draw Abdullah as a child close to him, pat him
on the shoulder and pray: "O Lord, make him acquire a deep
understanding of the religion of Islam and instruct himin the meaning
and interpretation of things."
There were many occasions thereafter when the blessed Prophet would
repeat this dua orprayer for his cousin and before long Abdullah ibn
Abbas realized that his life was to be devoted tothe pursuit of
learning and knowledge.
The Prophet moreover prayed that he be granted not just knowledge and
understanding but wisdom. Abdullah related thefollowing incident about
himself:"Once the Prophet, peace be upon him, was on the point of
performing wudu. I hurried to get water ready for him. He was pleased
with what I was doing. As he was about to begin Salat, he indicated
that I should stand at his side. However, I stood behind him. When the
Salat was finished, he turned to me and said: 'What prevented you from
being at my side, O Abdullah?' 'You are too illustrious and too great
in my eyes for me to standside by side with you,' I replied.
Raising his hands to the heavens, the Prophet then prayed: 'O Lord,
grant him wisdom." The Prophet's prayer undoubtedly was granted for
the young Abdullah was to prove time and again that he possessed a
wisdom beyond his years. But it was a wisdom that came only with
devotion and thedogged pursuit of knowledge both during the Prophet's
lifetime and after his death.
During the lifetime of the Prophet, Abdullah would not miss any of his
assemblies and he would commit to memory whatever he said. After the
Prophet passed away, he would take care to go to as many companions as
possible especially those who knew the Prophet longer and learn from
them what the Prophet had taught them. Whenever he heardthat someone
knew a hadith of the Prophet which he did not know he would go quickly
to him and record it. He would subject whatever he heard to close
scrutiny and check it against other reports. He would go to as many as
thirty companions to verify a single matter.
Abdullah described what he oncedid on hearing that a companionof the
Prophet knew a hadith unknown to him: "I went to him during the time
of the afternoon siesta and spread my cloak in front of his door. The
wind blew dust on me (as I sat waiting for him). If I wished I could
have sought his permission to enter and he would certainly have given
me permission. But I preferred to wait on him so that he could be
completely refreshed. Coming out of his house and seeing me in that
condition he said: 'O cousin of the Prophet! What's the matter with
you? If you had sent for meI would have come to you.' 'I amthe one who
should come to you, for knowledge is sought, it does not just come,' I
said. I asked him about the hadith and learnt from him."
In this way, the dedicated Abdullah would ask, and ask, andgo on
asking. And he would sift and scrutinize the information he had
collected with his keen and meticulous mind.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ Nuniyah al-Qahtani

Truly one of the best pieces I have ever come across –
While little is known about the author, this poem which he wrotearound
about the 5th century hasemerged as one of the most powerful,
beautiful and well-celebrated works throughouttime. It's a piece that
scholars from all areas of the Muslim Worldare familiar with, and
parts of it are taught to students as part of their Islamic studies to
this day.
The poem itself has almost 700 lines (well over 6,000 words) covering
many aspects of Islam: Qur'an, 'Aqidah, hadith, fiqh, history, seerah
etc. It also goes into clarifying much of the theological and social
problems that arose in the Ummah during that time (e.g. the view of
the Mu'tazilah as well as issues brought by other heretical groups)
and it continuously givesbeautiful advice on how the Muslim should
live – e.g. how to deal with your brothers, how to perfect your
character, how to achieve in life etc.
Insha'Allah, the full translation iscoming soon…
Nuniyah al-Qahtani
- By Abu Muhammad al-Qahtani al-Andalusi -
ولقد مننت علي رب بأنعم *** مالي بشكر أقلهن يدان
"O Lord, You have indeed bestowed upon me blessings
The smallest of which I cannot fully give thanks for
فوحق حكمتك التي آتيتني *** حتى شددت بنورها برهاني
It is truly by Your Wisdom that You have given me such
Until You strengthened my faith by its light
لئن اجتبتني من رضاك معونة *** حتى تقوي أيدها إيماني
If, from Your Pleasure, I were to be selected by Your Aid
Such that its authority strengthened my faith
لأسبحنك بكرة وعشية *** ولتخدمنك في الدجى أركاني
Then surely, I will praise You day and night
And in the darkness, my limbs willbe at Your service
ولأذكرنك قائما أو قاعدا *** ولأشكرنك سائر الأحيان
I will indeed remember You whether I'm standing or sitting
And the rest of the time, I will be thanking You
ولأكتمن عن البرية خلتي *** ولاشكون إليك جهد زماني
I shall hide my dire needs from the people
And I shall complain only to You of my troubled times
ولأقصدنك في جميع حوائجي *** من دون قصد فلانة وفلان
I shall seek You in all of my needs
Without seeking the aid of anyone in specific
ولأحسمن عن الأنام مطامعي *** بحسام يأس لم تشبه بناني
And I will surely sever my hopes in mortals
With a decisive dismemberment not seen before
ولأجعلن رضاك أكبر همتي *** ولاضربن من الهوى شيطاني
I will make Your Pleasure to be my greatest concern
And I will indeed cast the devil out from my desires
ولأكسون عيوب نفسي بالتقى *** ولأقبضن عن الفجور عناني
I will surely clothe the defects of my soul with the garments of Taqwa (piety)
And I will indeed seize my stubbornness in committing evil
ولأمنعن النفس عن شهواتها *** ولأجعلن الزهد من أعواني
And I will prevent my soul from its desires
And I will make Zuhd (asceticism) to be my supporter
ولأتلون حروف وحيك في الدجى *** ولأحرقن بنوره شيطاني
I shall indeed recite the letters of Your Revelation in the depths of the dark
And I will burn the Shaytan (devil)with its manifest light
أنت الذي يا رب قلت حروفه *** ووصفته بالوعظ والتبيان
O my Lord, it is You Who has uttered its letters
And You have expressed therein much admonition and clarity
ونظمته ببلاغة أزلية *** تكييفها يخفى على الأذهان
You have constructed it with eternal eloquence
The manner of which cannot be understood by the mind
وكتبت في اللوح الحفيظ حروفه *** من قبل خلق الخلق في أزمان
And You have written its letters inthe Preserved Tablet
Before the creation of all things aforetime
فالله ربي لم يزل متكلما *** حقا إذا ما شاء ذو إحسان
Allah, my Lord, has not ceased to speak
The truth if He Wills; Owner of Great Generosity
نادى بصوت حين كلم عبده *** موسى فأسمعه بلا كتمان
He called out in His Voice when Hecalled His slave
Musa; and so He caused him to hear without any obscurity
وكذا ينادي في القيامة ربنا *** جهرا فيسمع صوته الثقلان
And likewise our Lord shall call onthe Day of Resurrection
In an audible voice, and every Man and Jinn shall hear Him:
أن يا عبادي أنصتوا لي واسمعوا *** قول الإله المالكالديان
That 'O my slaves, pay attention to Me and listen
To the Word of God, the King and Judge!'
هذا حديث نبينا عن ربه *** صدقا بلا كذب ولا بهتان
This is the narration of our Prophet from His Lord
In truth, without any lie or falsehood
لسنا نشبه صوته بكلامنا *** إذ ليس يدرك وصفه بعيان
We do not liken His voice to our speech
For its exact description is not known
لا تحصر الأوهام مبلغ ذاته *** أبدا ولا يحويه قطر مكان
Minds can never encompass the extent of His Being
And place can never contain Him
وهو المحيط بكل شيء علمه *** من غير إغفال ولا نسيان
He is the One Whose knowledge encompasses all things
Without heedlessness or any forgetfulness
من ذا يكيف ذاته وصفاته *** وهو القديم مكون الأكوان
And who can attempt to describe or shape Him and His Attributes
When He is the All-Present, Creatorof all existence?

STORY :- ~ Love Overcomes Hatred

A few years later, when I was working in Fort Worth (in my early
20′s), there was a supervisor who used to harrass me. He was abusive
toward everyone, but he seemed to have a particular dislike of me. I
don't know why. Well, I had been experimenting with meditation, and
had been reading a few books about spirituality. One day I decided
that I would go about my day trying to see the soul within each
person. With each person I met, I would look past the exterior
appearance, past the external behaviors, and try to perceive the soul
inside.
It may sound silly or new-agey, but I noticed a difference
immediately. I was able to see things in people that I had not
previously perceived. In particular I saw a lot of fear. As I was
walking toward the cafeteria,I saw the abusive supervisor standing
near the door. I tried to forget everything I had experienced at his
hands, and look to his soul. I can't say exactlywhat I saw, but as I
approached him, he smiled at me. This was so unexpected and
incongruous, that I didn't know how to react and I continued on my way
without response.
After that day, I noticed a change. That supervisor and I certainly did
not become friends, but he stopped being hostile toward me. I cannot
really explain this, exceptto speculate that the act of looking to a
person's soul is a form of love, just as listening deeply, without
judgment, is an act of love. We are so unaccustomed in this life to
people regarding us in a pure way, without judgment, without
responding to our appearance or dress, without resentment for past
mistakes, that when someone does it, it's disarming. It transforms.
This is the power of love.
I'm not suggesting that all oppression in this world can be overcome
with a look. There is evil in the world. There are times when we must
fight to defend our lives and our families. Certain entities are
immune to the power of love (the current murderous regime in Syria is
not going to be overthrown with love). But even in the context of
conflict, love andfaith are powerful. Some Russian soldiers in
Chechnya embraced Islam after being captured by the mujahideen and
treated with kindness. Some soldiers in Egypt who were ordered to fire
upon civilians refused to do so after being embraced or kissed by
protesters.
The Prophet Muhammad (sws) himself was a reluctant warrior who
disliked fighting except as a last resort. He was one of the
firstmilitary leaders in history to lay down stringent rules for
humane warfare, prohibiting even the killing of animals or burning of
crops. He was a champion of faith, not fighting. His mission was one
of compassion. The mostpowerful tools in his arsenal werethe Quran and
the testimony of "Laa ilaha il-Allah" (there is no Godbut Allah). That
is how he changed the world.
Proof of this is that, as Wikipedia reports, "The sum total of all
casualties on all sides in all the battles of Muhammad range from 1200
to 1500 dead according to the most authoritative sources." This is
outrageously low by today's standards.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ Let Me Be True

I try to tackle issues of personal responsibility, keeping faith in
difficult times, understanding Allah as a compassionate and merciful
God, realizing that all of our lives have value and meaning, and
followingour dreams.
It may seem at first that the following poem does not fit with these
ideas. I think it does, but I'll leave that to you readers to decide,
and I will not prejudice you by trying to explain my concept of the
poem's meaning. Comments are always welcome and appreciated.
Let Me Be True
When it all comes down,
let me be true.
When seas thicken to brown,
and the world grows dim,
and love scatters
like ash on the wind,
and every man lies
to protect his skin:
let me be true to You Allah,
let me be true.
To the Messenger,
let me be near:
when in a dream I sat by him
against the beam of a wrecked ship,
he in a green turban, and a battle clashing…
we drank water, and breathed,
then he turned to me, and said,
"It's not what you speak that matters
but what you do."
To my heaven-blessed hero
let me be true.
To my love, let me be sincere.
I stand beneath a lamp
in a sphere of light
on a desert road. I don't peer
into the night. I listen,
beard dewed with rain,
for the footsteps of her soul.
Let me lead her to Jannah
and fulfill the shepherd's goal.
Let me soothe her sight,
carry her through storm,
and stand like a lion
as armies swarm on.
To my little daughter,
O Allah I implore you,
let me be forever true.
When she laughs and exclaims,
"You're so strong, Baba!"…
When I speak God's name
and she listens solemnly,
when she leaps and believes
that I'll save her…
To her nature and her dreams,
let me be true.
To myself – the greatest dare -
let me be real as earth.
Through the cinder heaps
and broken cities of the world
let me sweep, through black smoke,
eyes streaming, striding
like a bear. Let me hold on
to Book and pen, knife and drum,
true love as gun and guide.
Let me bow down on the roadside,
true to the Lord of the Dawn.
Let me rise, head up,
bloody and torn
but voicing truth
to the livid eyes of death,
and spreading peace
where only hate was found.
Dress me in taqwa.
Feed me dust and bone
and find me where sea meets stone
at the Western edge
when, finally, every secret is dredged,
and the world is used and done.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ Live the Moment – It’s All You Have

Try to appreciate the present moment and truly live it, rather than
using it up by feeling guilty about the past, or fretting about the
future. Regret for the past is awaste of spirit, and worrying about
the future is pointless.
Hanan Bilal, a community activist and motivator from Florida, asks,
"When will we stop living in the past and longing for our future? All
we really have is this moment. The question is what are we going to do
right now? Our time is now!"
The Past
That's not to say that contemplation of past and future is verboten.
The Quran tells stories of the past in order to educate us. The
Messenger of Allah (sws) told us many stories of past Prophets and the
Bani Israa'il, for the same reason. We study world history, we study
theseerah of our Prophet and the lives of the Sahabah, because it
inspires and informs.
I taught a martial arts class several hours ago and I'm still
reviewing it in my mind, examining what I could do better next time.
That's part of the learning process for me.
I have a sweet young daughter named Salma and I often think about my
time with her, something funny that she said, orthe small gifts that
she likes to make for me. Yesterday she mademe a card that says "I
love Baba." A few days ago we had a poetry reading at our local Muslim
community center, and in between readings our host told jokes. For
some reason Salma positioned herself in the front row, and every time
our host tolda joke I heard Salma laughing loudly, even though I'm
sure she did not understand the jokes ("dovegetarians eat animal
crackers?"). Crazy kid, ha ha. So yeah, I think about past moments. But
I'm not stuck in the past. I think about those moments because they
educate me or makeme smile, so they become a part of my present and
future.
On the other hand, I occasionally think about my former marriage, and
those are usually not good thoughts, because I tend to dwell on the
mistakes I made, and I feel sadness or guilt. I've already
contemplated deeply on that period in my life, and I've learned my
lessons. I don't need to keep returning there in my mind, punishing
myself. If I did, then I would indeed be stuck in the past, unable to
move forward. That is the kind of pointless regret that weighs people
down and burdens their spirits.
The Future
We plan for the future by having goals, getting an education, working
hard, saving money, always learning and improving ourselves. We plan
for our aakhirah by dedicating ourselves to Allah, worshiping, giving
our money to the poor and orphans, and humbling ourselves. We buildour
futures step by step. But it's not productive to sit around biting our
nails and thinking, "What if I fail my exam, oh, when will I get
married, what's going to happen if I lose my job, how will Ipay my
bills…" You make yourselfsick and it doesn't help.
Don't worry, plan . There's a huge difference! Then acknowledge that
you don't control the future. That's Allah's province. Trust in Him,
let him be your guide, find your security in Him.
The security of the dunya is false security. Suffering is the lot of
all Adam's children, in one way or another, and death comes when we're
ready or not. The security of Allah is real and transcends thisworld.
The Moment
This moment is all we have, my friend. The past is gone, and the
future never comes, because when we get there, we're still in the
present.
If you take this moment to breathe deeply and say, "SubhanAllah wa
bihamdihi" – glory to Allah and all praise to Him– and then thank
Allah for the blessings in your life, or sit down and play a game with
your child, go for a walk in the sunshine, maybe take a few nature
photos, call an old friend, write your spouse a love note, read a
verse from the Quran and contemplate it – then you have lived! You
have turned that moment into a precious gem, something to smile about
and feel good about.
Let's live the moment, be conscious of it, feel it, and give Allah the
credit, and in doing so let's turn the moment into a circle of
sunshine and barakah.
P.S. Isn't that the most amazing photo above? I absolutely love it. I
want to roll around in that grass, bathe in that river, call the
adhaanto the sky, and build a small house among those trees.
SubhanAllah.

ADVISE : - ~ DO NOT BREAKS YOUR HOMES

Iblees LOVES a broken home,
loves the situation of a single parent, and loves divorce.
Jabir reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be
upon him) said: Iblis places his throne upon water; he
then sends detachments (for creating dissension) ;
the nearer to him in tank are those who are most notorious in creating
dissension. One of them comes
and says: I did so and so. And he says: You have done nothing. Then
one amongst them comes and says: I did not spare so and so until I
sowed the seed of discord between a husband and awife. The Satan goes
near him and says: 'You have done well. A'mash
said: He then embraces him. (Muslim)
Question: Why would he tell his minions that may have caused people to
kill, steal, commit adultery, that they have done nothing (when those
things are haram) and tell the devil that caused divorce (which
is halaal) that he has done well? Because Iblees is a long term
investor. He recognizes that a killer, adulterer or thief can
repentand there goes that devil's work. But a broken home can more
easily be messy, it can lead to children who are raised by a single
parent one time, the streetsanother time, or a step parent who usually
will not hold the same authority or care like the original parent
would — with Sabiha Riaj , Abu Rashieda Ibn Zakariyya and Deen

STORY :- ~ A Real Story

Several years ago an Imaam moved to London. He often took the bus
fromhis home to the downtownarea. Some weeks after he arrived, he had
occasion to ride the same bus.
When he sat down, he discovered that the conductor had accidentally
given him twenty pence too much change. As he considered what to do,
he thought to himself, "I better give the twenty pence back. It would
be wrong to keep it."
Then he thought:
"Oh why don't I just forget it.., it's only twenty pence.
Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company
already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. I will justaccept
it as a gift from Almighty Allah and keep quiet!"
When his stop came, the Imaam paused momentarily at the door, and then
he handed the twenty pence back to the conductor and said,
"Here, you gave me too much change."
The conductor smiled and said:
"Aren't you the new Imaam in this area? I have been thinking lately
about going to worship at your mosque. I just wanted to see what you
would do if I gave you too much change."
When the Imaam got down the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He
had to grab the nearest light pole. He held for support, and looked up
to the heavens and cried,
"Oh Allah, I almost sold Islam for twenty pence!"
REMEMBER!
We may never see the impact our actions have onpeople!!
Sometimes we are the onlyknowledge of Quran someone will read..,
or the only Islam a non-Muslim will see!
What we need to provide, Insha Allah is an example for others to see!
Let us be careful, be honestand humble everyday, because we never know
who is watching our actions and judging us as Muslims!! We might be
saying something and doing something contrary to what we say...Are we
really showing the world the real characteristics and spectacular
qualities of a true believer?
Let us atleast remember at all times -
Allah is watching us! And He is going to ask us if we delivered His
message or not!
To conclude...let us just picture a hypothetical scene:
""If we got arrested for being Muslims, would the police have enough
evidence to bring us in?!!"

HADEES :- ~

It is reported that 'Ali ibn Abi Talib wrote to Salman Al-Farsi – Radi
Allahu 'anhum – saying:
❝The likeness of this worldly life (dunya) is that of a snake: soft to
the touch, it will kill you with its poison. So turn away from what
impresses you of it, since what stays with you is so little. And do
not be concerned about it, since you are certain about its parting.
And be most happy in it when you are most heedful of it; for every
time its companion takes solace in one of its delights, it gives way
to one of its woes!❞

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ TO VEIL OR NOT TO VEIL, THAT IS THE QUESTION

It was interesting to see the Muslim women in Oprah's audience appeal
to the ideals of pluralism and civil liberties in defense of their
visibility and difference. However, when Queen Rania of Jordan
appeared via satellite, there was a murmur in the audience and some of
the Muslim women said that the Queen should be covered. Is it possible
that Muslims think it is acceptable to use civil liberties to practice
their truth, but if given the power to decide, they will coerce others
to wear and do what Muslims want? These kinds of questions are far
more pressing. We have to create internal debates about liberties,
democracy and the need for various efforts of interpretation within
the Muslim communities. Such debates should replace the non-issues of
dress codes and small edict matters in mainstream Muslim communities.
We can no longer afford to have the scarf as the core of the debateon
Islam, nor as the symbol by which the level of a Muslim woman's piety
or commitment to Islam is measured. We can no longer afford to have
every opportunity and discussion aboutIslam turn into a conversation
on dressing, nor can we afford as Muslim women, in our communities, to
be judged and awarded degrees and ranks of religiosity according to
the level ofthe dress code we abide by. The darker the color the
better, the bigger the garment the more pious. The race of ranking
morallyhigh through fabric has no end ina path where the Taliban model
seems to be the only logical conclusion. It makes more sense to judge
women on matters relating to the basic tenets of Islam: regular
prayer, fasting, paying alms. But even such things were not acceptable
to the Prophet as criteria for assessing aperson. When one of his
companions praised another companion, the Prophet said to him it was
not enough to see him going up and down in prayer at the Mosque. The
Prophet asked him: Have you traveled with him? Have you seen him
angry? Have you dealt with him in matters of money?
When people are not noble enough to resort to the Prophetic method of
assessing a person, I try to bring them back to the basic
requirements, without getting lost in juristic and historical details,
by citing the story of the Bedouin man who came to the Prophet and
asked him what makes a good Muslim. The Prophet then listed for him
the five tenets of Islam, while the Bedouin was saying, at each tenet,
he would do it, but would not do more, nor less. After the Bedouin
left, the Prophet said, "The Bedouin will succeed if he is truthful."
Interestingly, an African American woman in the "after show" segment
asked precisely about this, how the list of the basic commands and
prohibitions of Islam, which the show presented at the beginning, did
not deal with the scarf, and I guess for her,did not reflect the level
of Muslims'obsession with it. But it is not enough to have such
questions thrown at us from others. Muslim women need to start
thinking for themselves and learn the difference between a command and
what a social practice open todifferent interpretations.
The challenge, however, is that most Muslim women are not equipped to
stand up and providean alternative juristic view of the matter, and
the scholars who do are not willing to discuss it in public out of
concerns of inflaming Muslim sensitivities about an issue which they,
and rightly so, believe is not a pressingone. Even those who are brave
enough to dissent like Jamal Al-Banna face rejection and opposition
from mainstream Muslims, despite being a scholar whose views are
rooted within traditional Islam.
The centrality of the scarf reduces Islam to a piece of garment and
places Muslims perpetually on the defensive explanatory panel.
De-centralizing and de-romanticizing the scarf, I am afraid, is fast
becoming increasingly urgent and necessary. The recent fatwas are
revealing. The scholars would not ask Muslim women or men, to
compromise easily in something they believed to be a core command of
Islam. The events of the last week have, it seems, started to urge us
to rethink our priorities and what defines being Muslim. This is in
itself a big step.
However, for the moment, until those who are politically and
juristically mature and sophisticated want to discuss thismatter
openly without getting bogged down by the many implications and
problems it will raise, we will remain hostage to the centrality of
the scarf. And until something is done, we will be stuck with the rosy
and romanticized views of the sweet Muslim ladies on Oprah's show and
forever caught up in the centrality of the scarf.
For eternity the question will not be for us, Muslims, why our
youngmen are turning themselves and others into bombs, or why we do
not have democracy in Muslim societies, or whether American foreign
policy is based on principles of equality and liberty for all. The
question will be, it seems, for a long time: To veil or not to veil.

ADVISE:- ~Wahb ibn al-Munabbih’s profound advice:

"O my son, do not argue with the learned ones such lest you become
lowly in their sight and thus they reject you . Do not dispute with
the foolish lest they in turn harm you and insult you. Indeed, the one
who reaches the rank of the scholars is he who bears patience and sees
their point of view . And indeed, the one who is saved from the
foolishis he who holds his tongue and remains silent from them. Don't
ever think that by arguing with the faqih (scholar), you will gain
anything except increasing his anger and making him accustomed to
that. Let it never bethe case that in your attempt to protect yourself
from small matters which you hear , you thenfall into great matters
which you dislike. Do not expose yourself for the sake of gratifying
your anger , and if an ignorant person harms you then let your
forbearance benefit you . If you are someone who does good only when
good is done to him, then what is your reward , and what is your
virtue over others ? Surely, if you wish for reward and virtue, then
do good to the one who does you harm , forgive the one who has wronged
you, benefit the one who brings you no benefit and wait for the reward
of all that from Allah , for that is surely the complete righteous
good deed which a person would not want to be merely rewarded for in
this lowly world (i.e. he would want his reward to be in the
Hereafter)."

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ The Power of Persistence

Here's a true story about the power of persistence:
Once, many years ago, I arrived in San Francisco on a warm July day
with no friends, no contacts and only a little money in my pocket. I
needed work. What I did have was confidence. I had been through some
very hard times, and had learned to fight for what I wanted, and not
to accept "no" for an answer.
I met a fellow who was a courier and he suggested that I try it. He
gave me the names of some courier companies. I visited several and
filled out applications, but there was one company in particular that
I liked. It seemed well outfitted and professionally run. I spoke to
the human resources manager and he told me that they did not need
anyone but that I should check back inseveral months. "Summertime is
slow here," he said. "Try us in fall."
I came back early the next morning. I couldn't wait until autumn, and
I wasn't interested insitting around and hoping for someone to look at
my applicationand call me. I knew they had stacks of applications in
filing drawers. I had decided where I wanted to work, and all that
remained was for them to accept my reality.
The HR manager said, "Weren't you here yesterday and I told you we
don't need anyone?" I said yes, but I thought maybe someone might call
in sick and they could use me just for the day.The HR manager gave me
an appraising look and said, "No, nothing like that. Why don't you
come back in a month?"
I came back the next day. This time the HR man smiled and said, "I'll
tell you what, come back in one week."
I came back the next day. It was a Thursday. The HR man rolled his
eyes in exasperation and said, "Listen. Come back on Monday and I'll
see what I can do."
I came back the next day, Friday. He gave me a job starting that day.
I worked for that company for five years and got promoted twice.
That's a true story.
I know it's harder nowadays with the economy in shambles. I'm not
guaranteeing that you can get a job by following these tips. But it
will certainly help your chances, Insha'Allah. And if you take that
same persistence and apply it to every endeavor in your life, I
believe you will find that even mountains will crumble before you.
And Allah knows best.
I'm really not a fan of Madison Avenue's ubiquitous ad messages, but
there was a Nike ad that I sawonce that really resonated for me. In
fact I tore it out of the magazine and pasted it up on the wall, right
beside my bed. It said:
All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life
they will say you're not goodenough or strong enough or talented
enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or
the wrong typeto play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL
YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless.
All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly.
AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES.
May Allah help all of you and provide for you and your families.
(O Allah), Guide us to the straightpath; The path of those whom you
have favored; Not those with whom you are angry; Nor those who go
astray.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ What’s Your Legacy?

"Who are you? What makes you special? What is the legacy that you've
built and shared with others (self, family, community and the world)?
If we died today, what would our obituaries say? What have we done for
GOD and GOD's people lately? What is our mission and vision, and are
we living it? If we died today, what would our obituaries say?" –
Hanan K. Bilal
This is what it's all about. I heard someone say recently that only
two things can happen with the wealth you accumulate in this life:
either it leaves you, or you leave it.Wealth is not a legacy. Having
fun is not a legacy. Helping a companyto sell useless products is not
a legacy.
Making a difference in the lives of human beings, relieving the
suffering of even one person, raising righteous and happy children,
leaving behind knowledge that benefits people, making the world a
better place, those are legacies.
I have not met the sister who is quoted at the top, but I have read
some of her writings. Whenever I hear her name I think of being
responsible, taking care of my family, loving my children and bringing
them up right, making a difference in the community, following my
dreams… that is a legacy. She has already created a vital legacy.
I have another friend whose name is Ismail. He is so humble
ma-sha-Allah, and as a friend he isthe most discreet and
closed-mouthed person I know, by which I mean he never speaks badly
about anyone else, and never reveals anyone's secrets or violates
their trust. When I think of him, I am inspired to emulate him. That
is his legacy, and it's an important and valuable one.
More than twenty years ago I knew a brother named Qawiy. His life was
hard, but every time I methim he'd give me a big smile and an
enthusiastic handshake. He wore a kufi and carried a folded musalla
(prayer rug) on his shoulder, so he could pray whenever salat time
arrived, no matter where he was. Kind of quirky, but also inspiring.
All theseyears later, just the thought of Qawiy brings a smile to my
face, and reminds me of the importance of doing salat on time. That's a
legacy! SubhanAllah.
I could name many more people who have affected me in positive and
critical ways. I will always remember them, even after they are gone,
Insha'Allah. They have created lasting legacies.
Of course we don't even have to speak of the Prophets (peace be upon
them), and the Messenger ofAllah (sws), and the Sahabah (mayAllah be
pleased with them). Their legacies shine like the moon and stars and
will illuminate human history for all time.
What's your legacy? What do people say about you, and what will they
say when you're gone?

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ children, and not even my freedom

children, and not even my freedom."
That was a bad time. But I had myfaith, and I used to weep to Allah,
asking Him to have mercy on me. Ithink I gave up on myself for a
while, but I never gave up on Allah. It would not even have occurred
to me to do so. I did cry to Him sometimes saying, "Why, Allah? Why?
Why am I here, suffering like this?" But it wasn't despair, only
confusion. In my heart I knew that He heard me and that an answer
would come.
Shortly after that I received a letterfrom the parole board granting
me early release. I had previously been told very clearly that I was
not eligible. It was entirely unexpected, and if you are familiar with
the American penal system, miraculous. But for Allah, nothing is
impossible or even difficult.
Within a few months I was free. I found a job a week after my
release, and I excelled. I began writing, sitting at my desk every
night after work and disciplining myself to work on poetry, stories
and articles. Eventually I went back to school and began a new career,
got married, bought a beautiful house, and one day had a child…
What can I say except Alhamdulillah! SubhanAllah! What can I do except
weep in gratitude for these blessings that I did nothing to earn, but
were given to me by my Lord who loves me and cares about me, and wants
good for me. I am so deeply touched and moved by the way Allah has
answered my prayers from the depths of darkness. If I did anything to
merit His blessings, perhaps it was only thatI directed my pleas to
Him. I knew that no one else could help me.
This is a very emotional post for me to write. I want every Muslim to
have this sense of Allah as theirfriend, as someone who cares for them
deeply. I want to put that awareness into your heart like a gift.
When I was in that cell I used to pray the same dua' over and over,
begging Allah repeatedly. If I had made such pleas to a human being
they would have stopped hearing me long ago. When we're needy with
people it pushes themaway, but when we're needy withAllah He comes
closer to us! He never tires of answering our needand forgiving us.
I know of many similar stories of people who have hit rock bottom and
have called upon Allah – or , not even knowing "Allah" by that name,
have called to the Supreme Being, saying, "I know you hear me, tell me
what I need to do, show me the way!" – and then, like a circle of
sunlight piercing a cloud, something or someone comes into their lives
to show them the way forward.
When we're out of ideas, surrounded by problems, and feeling totally
alone… we're not alone . Allah is with us. If we pray sincerely and
strive, He will put light in our hearts and help us from directions we
did not expect.
Ask Allah sincerely, open yourself to Him, and accept what He gives
you even when it goes against your own desires. The answers toyour
questions are there, with Allah, I promise you. All those terrible
questions that you ask yourself in the silence of your mind, the
answers are with Allah.

ISLAMIC ARTICLE :- ~ Wisdom: Zuhayr

I haven't delved into classical poetry for a while now, so here's one
I liked from a while back (with some basic explanations and thoughts
of my own).
It's a small excerpt from the famous mu'allaqah poem of Zuhayr ibn Abi
Sulmah . He was a poet from the Jahili period (the era before Islam)
who had his own well-celebrated mu'allaqah. Interestingly, it is said
that he would only recite and announce his poems after one complete
year had passed in which he spent perfecting it – hence he was
nicknamed 'Sahib al-Hawliyat'
He says in his poem:
سَئِمتُ تكاليف الحياة ومَن يَعِش *** ثمانين حَولاً – لا أُبا لك – يَسْأم
I have come to hate the burdens of life, and whoever lives
For eighty years will surely come to hate and tire of them
وأعْلَمُ عِلمَ اليوم والأمسِ قبله *** ولكنني عَن عِلمِ ما في غَدٍ عَمِ
I know the reality of today and that of yesterday before it
But of the realities of tomorrow, I am blind and ignorant
ومَن يَكُ ذَا فضْلٍ فَيَبْخَلْ بفَضْلِه *** على قَوْمِه يُسْتغنَ عَنه ويُذْمَمِ
Whoever possesses goodness butproves miserly to his people
Then they shall prove sufficient of him, and he shall be humiliated
The theme of 'Nasihah wal-Hikam' (Counsel and Wisdom) starts to take
shape here with Zuhayr telling people that fadhl (virtue, possessions,
wealth etc) is something that a person is gifted with and thus it's
not proper to be miserly with it, withhold it from society, or prevent
helping others by it etc. It's interesting he says على قومه ('to his
own people'), because the first benefactors of our gifts should
bethose closest to us i.e. family, community etc. By spreading one's
talents, possessions and goodness (whether materialistic and tangible
like wealth or conceptual like uprightness), a community becomes
stronger, progresses forward and allows people to live well.
ومَنْ هابَ أَسْبابَ المَنايا يَنَلنَه *** وإنْ يَرْقَ أسبابَالسماء بِسُلَّمِ
Whoever fears the causes the death, shall only be met by them
Even if he ascends to the heavens upon a built stairway
Death is written for us all, even though the causes and ways may be
different for us. Courage and the act of delving into the heat of
battles, taking up challenges and defending one's tribe have
alwaysbeen seen to high calibre traits. So the more fearless a person
is, the higher of a status they occupyamong their people. This is
Zuhayr effectively saying not to fear the causes of death because
those who fear a certain cause of death will no doubt be met by it.
And there's no running away from death even if you took a staircase to
the heavens. This is a true concept and belief reflected in the
Qur'anic verse:
"Wherever you may be, death shall overtake you, even if you should be
within towers of lofty construction…" [al-Nisa: 78]
ومَن يَجعَلِ المَعْروفَ فِي غَيرِ أهله *** يَكُنْ حَمْدُه ذَمَاً عَليه ويَندَمِ
And whoever pays good duty to those who do not deserve it,
Then his act of praise becomes blameworthy and he shall come to regret
Paying good duty to people and giving them credit is a standard which
we all must live by. However there are times when our act needs to be
reviewed depending on who exactly we aredealing with. Hence it's not a
proper measure of our intellect if we give pay high credit to someone
who does not deserve itin the least, rather we should just let them be
without harming them. It is only those who deserveit that should
attain our key attention, service and goodness; otherwise we'll come
to regret the fact that we perhaps wasted our efforts on one person
when there was someone else more deserving of all that effort.
ومَن لم يَذُدْ عَن حَوضِه بِسِلاحِه *** يُهَدَّمْ ومن لا يَظلم الناس يُظلم
And whoever does not defend hiswater well with his weapon
Will be overpowered; and whoever does not oppress shall be oppressed
This poem was written in the Days of Jahiliyyah (Ignorance) andso you
can really see the nature and outlook of the people at that time.
There were no governing laws and no accountability exceptthose simple
standards set out by tribal chiefs. Effectively, it was 'each man to
his own' or 'each tribe to their own' and in the poetic lines above
you can understand what Zuhayr is alluding to. He is saying that
whoever does not protect his own possessions will lose them toothers;
and the scene he sets is that of a water well. Historically in the
desert and open fields, the tribes would usually settle aroundsources
of water and build a well which sustained them. Without this well, the
tribe will die off due to lack of water. Now what wouldhappen if
another tribe tried to take possession of that well? Yes, you got it:
Warfare (now now, don't be surprised, leading countries do it in our
times too; but it's oil rather than water!). So here, Zuhayr says that
part of wisdom is to fight for what is yours, particularly those
things which are essential to your survival. 'And whoever does not
oppress shall be oppressed' –

Story - - Remember, there is always someone else who is in more problem than you.

The Patient Old Man
When passing through a mountain pass, a bedouin (villager) once came
across an old man who was blind and who seemed to be afflicted with
various ailments all over his body. It was clear that he was wasting
away. He was even paralyzed and was constantly forced to remainin a
seated position. The Bedouin could clearly hear him say, "All praise
is for Allah, Who has kept me safe from ailments with which He has
tested many among His creation; and Hehas indeed preferred me over
many among those that He created."
"My brother!" exclaimed the bedouin. "What have you been saved from?
By Allah, I think that you have been afflicted with every single kind
of ailment!"
"Go away from me," said the old man, as he raised his head. "Do I not
still have a tongue with which Ican pronounce His Oneness, and with
which I can remember Him every single moment? And do I not still have
a heart with which I can know Him?"
These words of the old man were enough for the bedouin to repent to
Allah for his sins and ask Him for forgiveness.
Remember, there is always someone else who is in more problem than you.

HADEES & ADVISE:->-

"... He knows what goes into the earth and what emerges from it, what
descends from the heaven and what ascends therein; and He is with you
wherever you are..." [al-Hadid: 4]
One of the beauties of tawhid is knowing about the ma'iyah of Allah -
that He is with you wherever you may be, He is fully aware of you,
your circumstances, your inner and outer reality etc. For some, this
increases them in their love of Allah and closeness to Him, and for
others it increases their fear. But either way, it strengthens our
faith, so letus always remember the ma'iyah of Allah 'azza wa jall.

HADEES:->-

Hadeeth Qudsi 15:
On the authority of Abu Harayrah(may Allah be pleased with him), who
said that the Prophet (PBUH)said: Allah the Almighty said:
I am as My servant thinks I am (1). I am with him when he makes
mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of
him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me inan assembly, I make
mention of him in an assemble better than it.And if he draws near to
Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he
comes to Me walking, I go to himat speed.
(1) Another possible rendering ofthe Arabic is: "I am as My servant
expects Me to be". The meaning is that forgiveness and acceptance of
repentance by the Almighty is subject to His servant truly believing
that He is forgivingand merciful. However, not to accompany such
belief with rightaction would be to mock the Almighty.
It was related by al-Buhkari (also by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi and Ibn-Majah).
Hadeeth Qudsi 16:
On the authority of son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them
both), from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), among the sayings he
related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said:
Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then
Heexplained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and
has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good
deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down
with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many
times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it,
Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has
intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed.
It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Hadeeth Qudsi 17:
On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with
him) from the Prophet (PBUH) is that among the sayingshe relates from
his Lord (may He be glorified) is that He said:
O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it
forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants,
all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance
of Me and I shall guide you, O My servants, all of you are hungry
except for those I have fed, so seek food of Me and I shall feed you.
O My servants, all of you are naked except for those I have clothed,
so seek clothing of Me and I shall clothe you. O My servants, you sin
by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seekforgiveness of Me
and I shall forgive you. O My servants, you will not attain harming Me
so as to harm Me, and will not attain benefitting Me so as to benefit
Me. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the
human of you and the jinn of youto be as pious as the most pious heart
of any one man of you, thatwould not increase My kingdom in anything.
O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of
you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of
any one man of you, that would not decrease My kingdom in anything. O
My servants, were thefirst of you and the last of you, the human of
you and the jinn ofyou to rise up in one place and make a request of
Me, and were Ito give everyone what he requested, that would not
decrease what I have, any more that a needle decreases the sea ifput
into it. O My servants, it is butyour deeds that I reckon up for you
and then recompense you for, so let him finds good praise Allah and
let him who finds otherthat blame no one but himself.
It was related by Muslim (also by at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah).

Fill it With Al-Fatihah
Wounded brother, sister in belief:
pour out your cup of hurt and grief
and fill it with lavender leaf.
Fill it with sunlight seed
and the moon's reedy laugh.
Fill it with the history of grass,
and the joy of breath.
Fill it with hope
and the poetry of God.
Fill it with Quran
and the moment before dawn.
Fill it with Allah's soul-saving light,
and the power of His love
expressing in your life.
Fill it with dhikr like gold,
and Prophetic stories
that were old
a thousand years ago.
Fill your cup with beach foam
and the smell of baking bread;
with the mark of prayer
impressed upon your head;
with lemon drop soup
and the comfort of your bed.
Fill it with gratitude

Fill your cup, and laugh,
