*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Dought & clear, - Who do Muslims worship?.

Who do Islams worship?
Praise be to Allaah.
Before answering, we would like to express our appreciation for your
interest, at such a young age, in the religion of Islam. May Allaah
open the door for you to find much blessing through your asking this
question, and decree for you guidance such as you have never thought
of. Allaah[the Arabic name for the One True God – Translator]says in
the Qur'aan[the Holy Book of Islam](interpretation of the meaning):
"This is the Guidance of Allaah with which He guides whomsoever He
will of His slaves…" [al-An'aam 6:88]
"And whomsoever Allaah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam…"
[al-An'aam 6:125]
With regard to this important question – who do the Muslims worship? –
the answer is to be found in the Holy Qur'aan, which is the Scripture
of Islam, and in the words of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) who received Revelation from his
Lord.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"In the name of Allaah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All
praises and thanks be to Allaah, the Lord of the 'Aalameen (mankind,
jinns and all that exists), the Most Beneficient, the Most Merciful,
the Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense
(i.e., the Day of Resurrection). You (Alone) we worship, and You
(alone) we ask for help (for each and every thing)." [al-Faatihah
1:1-5]
"O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allaah), Who has created you and those
before you so that you may become al-muttaqoon (the pious)."
[al-Baqarah 2:21]
"Such is Allaah, your Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but
He, the Creator of all things. So worship Him (Alone), and He is the
Wakeel (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian) over all
things."[al-An'aam 6:102]
"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you
be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old
age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at
them but address them in terms of honour." [al-Isra' 17:23]
Muslim worship Allaah [the One True God] whom all the Prophets
worshipped. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya'qoob [Jacob]? When he
said unto his sons, 'What will you worship after me?' They said, 'We
shall worship your God, the God of your fathers, Ibraaheem [Abraham],
Ismaa'eel [Ishmael] and Is-haaq [Isaac], One God, and to Him we submit
(in Islam)." [al-Baqarah 2:133]
The Muslims worship Allaah and call others who follow different
religions to worship Allaah Alone, as Allaah says (interpretation of
the meaning):
"Say [O Muhammad]: 'O People of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]:
come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none
but Allaah, and we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us
shall take others as lords besides Allaah.' Then, if they turn away,
say, 'Bear witness that we are Muslims.'" [Aal 'Imraan 3:64]
It is Allaah Alone Whom Nooh [Noah] (peace be upon him) called his
people to worship, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Indeed, We sent Nooh [Noah] to his people and he said: 'O my people!
Worship Allaah! You have no other god but Him. Certainly, I fear for
you the torment of a Great Day!.'" [al-A'raaf 7:59]
It is Allaah Alone whom the Messiah [Jesus] (peace be upon him) called
people to worship, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Surely they have disbelieved who say: 'Allaah is the Messiah [Jesus]
son of Maryam [Mary].' But the Messiah said: 'O Children of Israel!
Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord.' Verily, whosoever sets up
partners in worship with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise
for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the zaalimoon
(polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers." [al-Maa'idah
5:73]
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And (remember) when Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): 'O
'Eesa [Jesus], son of Maryam [Mary]! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me
and my mother as two gods besides Allaah?' He will say: 'Glory be to
You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said
such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my
inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours. You, only You, are
the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen.
Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allaah) did command me
to say: "Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord." And I was a witness
over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You
were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all
things.'"[al-Maa'idah 5:116-117]
When Allaah spoke to His Prophet Moosa [Moses] (peace be upon him), He
said (interpretation of the meaning):
"Verily, I am Allaah! None has the right to be worshipped but I, so
worship Me, and perform al-Salaah [prayer] for My Remembrance."
[Ta-Ha 20:14]
Allaah commanded His Prophet Muhammad(peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) as follows (interpretation of the meaning):
"Say [O Muhammad]: 'O mankind! If you are in doubt as to my religion
(Islam), then (know that) I will never worship those whom you worship,
besides Allaah. But I worship Allaah Who causes you to die, I am
commanded to be one of the believers." [Yoonus 10:104]
It is Him Alone, with no partner or associate, Whom the angels worship
and do not worship anyone or anything besides Him, as He says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and on earth. And those
who are near Him (i.e., the angels) are not too proud to worship Him,
nor are they weary (of His worship)."[al-Anbiya' 21:19]
Everything that is worshipped instead of Allaah can neither bring
benefit nor cause harm, it can neither create nor provide. Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"Say (O Muhammad, to mankind); 'How do you worship besides Allaah
something which has no power either to harm or to benefit you? But it
is Allaah Who is the All-Hearer, All-Knower.'" [al-Maa'idah 5:76]
"You worship besides Allaah only idols, and you only invent falsehood.
Verily, those whom you worship besides Allaah have no power to give
you provision, so seek your provision from Allaah (Alone), and worship
Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be
brought back." [al-'Ankaboot 29:17]
Having explained this, we must complete the topic by asking: why
should we worship Allaah Alone with no partner or associate? The
answer is as follows:
Firstly: because there is nothing and nobody else in the universe that
deserves to be worshipped, for Allaah is the Creator and Sustainer,
Who has created the universe out of nothing and has bestowed so many
blessings upon us. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"So glorify Allaah, when you come up to the evening [i.e., offer the
Maghrib (sunset) and 'Isha' (night) prayers], and when you enter the
morning [I.e., offer the Fajr (morning) prayers].
And His is all the praise and thanks in the heavens and the earth, and
(glorify Him) in the afternoon [i.e., offer 'Asr (mid-afternoon)
prayer] and when you come up to the time when the day begins to
decline [i.e., offer the Zuhr (mid-day) prayer].
He brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from
the living. And He revives the earth after its death, and thus shall
you be brought out (resurrected).
And among His Signs is this, that He created you (Adam) from dust, and
then [Hawwa (Eve) from Adam's rib, then his offspring from the semen,
and], - behold you are human beings scattered!
And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among
yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between
you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people
who reflect.
And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and
the difference of your languages and colours. Verily in that are
indeed signs for men of sound knowledge.
And among His Signs is the sleep that you take by night and by day,
and your seeking of His Bounty. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a
people who listen.
And among His Signs is that He shows you the lightning, by way of fear
and hope, and He sends down water (rain) from the sky, and therewith
revives the earth after its death. Verily, in that are indeed signs
for a people who understand.
And among His Signs is that the heaven and the earth stand by His
Command, then afterwards when He will call you by single call, behold,
you will come out from the earth (ie.e, from your graves, for
reckoning and recompense).
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are
obedient to Him.
And He it is Who originates the creation, then will repeat it (after
it has perished), and this is easier for Him. His is the highest
description (i.e., none has the right to be worshipped but He, and
there is nothing comparable unto Him) in the heavens and in the earth.
And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." [al-Room 30: 17-27]
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the
earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We
cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not
in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any god
with Allaah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!
Is not he (better than you gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed
abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm
mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt
and sweet water). Is there any god with Allaah? Nay, but most of them
know not.
Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one,
when He calls Him, and Who removes the evil, generations after
generations. Is there any god with Allaah? Little is it that you
remember!
Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of
the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad
tidings, going before His mercy (rain)? Is there any god with Allaah?
High Exalted be Allaah above all that they associate as partners (to
Him)!
Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who originates creation,
and shall thereafter repeat it, and Who provides for you from heaven
and earth? Is there any god with Allaah? Say: 'bring forth your
proofs, if you are truthful'
Say: 'None on the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except
Allaah, nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected.'"
[al-Naml 27:60-65]
So is there anyone or anything besides Allaah that deserves to be worshipped?
Secondly: Allaah did not create us except to worship Him, as He says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except they should
worship Me (Alone)."[al-Dhaariyaat 51:56]
Thirdly: No one will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except those
who used to worship Allaah truly and sincerely. After death Allaah
will resurrect His slaves and call them to account, rewarding or
punishing them according to their deeds. No one will be saved on that
day except for those who used to worship Allaah Alone. The rest will
be gathered into a Hell, a terrible fate! The Prophet of Islam,
Muhammad(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), was asked by his
Companions: "Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" He told
them:
"Do you doubt that you can see the sun and the moon when the sky is
clear?" We [his Companions] said, "No." He said, "Then you should not
doubt that you will see your Lord on that Day, you will see Him as you
see them (the sun and moon)." Then he said, "A caller will call out,
'Let every people go to that which they used to worship.' So the
worshippers of the cross will go with their cross, the worshippers of
idols will go with their idols and the worshippers of every god will
go with their gods, until there will be left those who used to worship
Allaah, whether they were righteous or otherwise, and a few of the
People of the Book [Jews and Christians]. Then Hell will be brought
and shown to them as if it is a mirage. It will be said to the Jews,
'What did you used to worship?' They will say, 'We used to worship
'Uzayr, the son of God.' It will be said, 'You have lied. Allaah does
not have a wife or son. What do you want?' They will say, 'We want
something to drink.' It will be said to them, 'Drink!' and they will
fall into Hell. Then it will be said to the Christians, 'What did you
used to worship?' They will say, 'We used to worship the Messiah, the
son of God.' It will be said, 'You have lied. Allaah does not have a
wife or son. What do you want?' They will say, 'We want something to
drink.' It will be said to them, 'Drink!' and they will fall into
Hell. Then there will be left those who used to worship Allaah,
whether they were righteous or otherwise. It will be said to them,
'What are you waiting for? All the people have gone.' They will say,
'We have separated from them and we need Him more today. We heard a
caller saying that every people should follow that which they used to
worship, so we are waiting for our Lord.' He will say, 'Al-Jabbaar
[the Compeller, i.e., Allaah] will come…' And He will say, 'I am your
Lord.' They will say, 'You are our Lord,' but none will speak to Him
except the Prophets… then every believer will prostrate to
Him."(Reported by al-Bukhaari, no. 6886). These believers are the
people of Paradise on whom shall be no fear neither shall they grieve,
and they will dwell therein for ever.
We hope that this matter has now become clear. In conclusion we can
say nothing except that which Allaah has said (interpretation of the
meaning):
"Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his
ownself. And whoever goes stray, then he goes astray to his own loss…"
[al-Isra' 17:15]
Peace be upon him who follows the guidance..

For children, - Hatred in Islam, Diseases of the Soul

Hatred is an emotion of intense revulsion, distaste, enmity, or antipathy for a person, thing, or phenomenon, generally attributed to a desire to avoid, restrict, remove, or destroy the hated object. Hatred is also among the most common emotions that human's experience. It can be based on fear of an object or past negative consequences of dealing with that object. Hatred is often described as the opposite of love or friendship.
Often the verb "to hate" is used casually to describe things one merely dislikes, such as a particular style of architecture, a certain climate, one's job, some particular food, or people who claim to hate something when they in fact merely dislike it.
"Hatred" is also used to describe feelings of prejudice, bigotry or condemnation against a person, or a group of people, such as racism, and intense religious or political prejudice. The term hate crime is used to designate crimes committed out of hatred in this sense.
Religion Islam has been accused unjustly of being a religion of hate by those who never made a true effort to understand even the basic teachings of Islam. We all know that ignorance is the worst enemy of the truth, and Allah (SWT) asked us to learn the truth as there is nothing after the truth except falsehood.
This then is Allah, your true Lord; and what is there after the truth but error; how are you then turned back? Noble Qur'an (10:32)
Let us present the simple truth about Islam and the Noble Qur'an that proves that Islam is not a religion of hate but rather a religion of love, tolerance, understanding, and social justice.
Many people are not aware that Islam is the religion of Prophet Abraham, not the religion of Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Abraham, being the founder of Islam, with all its beautiful and peaceful teachings and rituals, passed his religion to all the prophets who came after him, including all the Israeli prophets, Prophet Moses, Prophet Jesus and Prophet Muhammad. Those attacking Islam, out of ignorance, or deliberately, are attacking Prophet Abraham who is their prophet as much as the prophet of the Muslims.
Noble Qur'an explains clearly this fact,
And strive hard in (the way of) Allah, (such) a striving a is due to Him; He has chosen you and has not laid upon you an hardship in religion; the faith of your father Abraham; He named you Muslims before and in this, that the Messenger may be a bearer of witness to you, and you may be bearers of witness to the people... Noble Qur'an (22:78)
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian but he was (an) upright (man), a Muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists. Most surely the nearest of people to Abraham are those who followed him and this Prophet and those who believe and Allah is the guardian of the believers. Noble Qur'an (3:67-68)
Then We revealed to you (O Muhammad): Follow the faith of Abraham, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists. Noble Qur'an (16:123)
In that simple sense, how can Islam which is the religion of Abraham promote hate when it is the same religion passed down to the Jews and Christians before reaching Muslims? How can the Jews and Christians claim different standard when we are talking about the same religion with different names but all go back to Abraham.
Noble Qur'an, the final Testament, made a special mention of the relationship that controls the social and daily life with other people including but not limited to Jews and Christians. In it Noble Qur'an urges the Muslims to be loving, caring, friendly, patient, tolerant, advocates of freedom, democracy, and social justice. Islam never advocated hate or promoted it. People, who promote hate, do so on their own terms and misunderstanding. By doing so they do not represent Islam or the teachings of Islam in the scripture.
We need to remember that hate is a man made crime that we should not blame on any religion. Any claim of hate in a religion is no more than man made innovation that has nothing to do with God or His scripture. Planting hate only produces hate. Planting love, will produce love. Our God is Almighty, all loving.

Personalities, - Introduction Imam e Azam Abu Hanifa

Imam al-A'zam Abu Hanifa's (Alaihir raHma) full name was Nuʿmān ibn Thābit ibn Zuṭā ibn Marzubān. He was born in Kufa in Iraq in 80 A.H. He belonged to the pious period of the Taabi'ins (Successors of the Sahabas).
DIVINE MISSION
It is stated in a Hadith Shareef which Imam al-Harizmi reported from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhumA) that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Among my Ummah, there will come a man called Abu Hanifa. On the Day of Resurrection, he will be the light of my Ummah." Another Hadith Shareef states: "In every century, a number of my Ummah will attain to high grades. Abu Hanifa will be the highest of his time." These two Ahadith are recorded in "Durr al-Mukhtar."
EARLY LIFE
While still in his youth, he met great Sahaba like Sayyiduna Anas bin Maalik, Sayyiduna Sahl bin Saad and Sayyiduna Abul Tufail Amir bin Wathilah (radi Allahu Anhumul Ajma'een). Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) was first brought up as a trader, but soon started taking deep interest in Islamic learning.
EDUCATION
He attended the lectures of Sayyiduna Hammad Basri (radi Allah anhu) in Fiqh and then began to study the Hadith. He learnt under great scholars in Kufa. In Basrah he studied under two great Taabi'ie scholars who had learnt Hadith under the Sahaba. In Makkatul Mukarammah and Madinatul Munawwarah, he learnt under Sayyiduna Ata bin Abi Rabah and Sayyiduna Ikramah (radi Allahu Anhuma). In fact, Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) had numerous teachers. Some historians say that he learnt Hadith from about 4000 scholars. Some of his famous teachers were:
Sayyiduna Imam Baaqir
Sayyiduna Imam Jafer Saadiq
Sayyiduna Ali
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar
Sayyiduna Aqabah bin Umar
Sayyiduna Safwaan
Sayyiduna Jabir
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah and etc. (Radi Allahu Anhum Ajma'een).
AS A TEACHER
When his teacher, Sayyiduna Hammad Basri (Alaihir raHma) passed away, Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) was 40 years old and he began teaching. He became very famous and travelled many places. Students from all over the Muslim world came to him to listen to his lectures, interviews and debates. Imam Maalik (Alaihir raHma) also learnt under him. When he was 56 years old, Caliph Mansur came to power after the Ummayad dynasty was overthrown by the Abbasids in 132 A.H. Since Imam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) opposed the Caliph's ruthless killing of the Ahle Bait, he was arrested. The Caliph offered the Imam the post of a Qaadi (Judge), but he refused. The Caliph Mansur had him beaten with a stick 30 strokes. His feet bled. Caliph Mansur repented and offered Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) 30000 pieces of silver. The great Imam refused once more. He was imprisoned again and thrashed 10 more strokes every day.
PASSES AWAY
Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) passed away while in Salaah. He had been poisoned by the orders of Caliph Mansur. His Janaza Salaah was performed six times and each time 50 000 people took part. People continued to come and pray for him for 20 days after he was buried. He was 70 years old. In 459 A.H. a Mazaar (Tomb) was built for him by the Seljuki ruler Alp Arsalan. He lies buried in a Tomb situated near Baghdad in Iraq.
STUDENTS
Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) left behind about 980 students. The most famous among them being:
a. Sayyiduna Qadi Abu Yusuf (Alaihir raHma)
b. Sayyiduna Imam Muhammed (Alaihir raHma)
c. Sayyiduna Imam Zufur (Alaihir raHma)
PERSONALITY
Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) earned his living by trading. Every Friday, he distributed 20 gold coins to the poor for his parents soul. For 40 years Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) performed the Fajr Salaah with the Wudu that he made for the Esha Salaah (ie. he did not sleep after the night prayer). He performed Hajj 55 times. He used to recite the entire Holy Quran once every day and once every night. Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) had so much of Taqwa (Piety) that for 30 years he fasted every day (except for the 5 forbidden days). He often read the Holy Quran in one rakaah or two. He did not accept any presents from anyone. He wore clothes like those of the poor. Imam A'zam Abu Hanifa (Alaihir raHma) once said: "I laughed once in my life and I regret it." He talked little and thought much. It is said that at the place where his soul was taken, he read the Holy Quran 7000 times.
GREATNESS OF IMAM ABU HANIFA
Yahya ibn Sa`id al-Qattan said:
"We have not heard better than Abu Hanifa's opinion and we have followed most of his positions."
Yahya ibn Ma`in, he said of Abu Hanifa that
"He is not only thiqa (trustworthy) but thiqa thiqa. Al- Dhahabi even calls Ibn Ma`in a fanatic Hanafi."
Al-Fadl ibn Dukayn, one of the major authorities of Ahl al-Hadith. He said:
"Muslims should make du`a to Allah on behalf of Abu Hanifa in their prayers, because the Sunan and the fiqh were preserved for them through him."
Waki` ibn al-Jarrah, he replied to some of them:
"You barred us from Abu Hanifa, are you going to bar us from Zufar??" (Zufar took over the teaching of Hanafi Fiqh in Kufa and Basra after the Imam.)
Abu Mu`awiya al-Darir, he said:
"Love of Abu Hanifa is part of the Sunnah".
Ibn Dawud al-Khuraybi:
"Among the people there are plenty of enviers and ignorant ones concerning Abu Hanifa."
Bishr al-Hafi, he said:
"None criticizes Abu Hanifa except an envier or an ignoramus".
Ibn al-Mubarak. When al-Awza`i criticized Abu Hanifa, Ibn al-Mubarak copied a compilation of Abu Hanifa's fiqh under the name al-Nu`man. Al- Awza`i read it without interruption except for Salat al-Fard. Then he said:
"This Nu`man is a grand master (hadha nabilun min al-ashyakh). Go to him and take as much as you can from him!" Ibn al-Mubarak said: "This is the Abu Hanifa you had forbidden me to see." (Tarikh al-Baghdad)
Ibn al-Mubarak considered one's hatred of Abu Hanifa a mark of Divine wrath.
He also said:
"If Allah had not rescued me with Abu Hanifa and Sufyan [al-Thawri] I would have been like the rest of the common people." Al-Dhahabi relates it as: "I would have been an innovator."
Ibn `A'isha mentioned a fatwa of Abu Hanifa then said:
"Truly, if you had seen him you would have wanted him ! Truly, his similitude and yours is as in the saying:
Curse them much or not, I care little to blame you;
But fill - if you can! - the space they left vacant."
GOLDEN WORDS OF WISDOM:
*.Knowledge without deeds is like a body without a soul. As long as knowledge does not embrace the existence of action it will not be enough not agreeable nor sincere.
*.Difficulties are the result of sin. The sinful therefore does not have the right to lament when difficulties befall him.
*.To reduce the connection of the World means that a person takes that which is essential from the World and leaves that which is non essential.
*.That person who seeks knowledge to attain the World finds that knowledge has no place in his heart.
*.That person whose knowledge does not prevent him from committing sin and transgressions then who is that person who has suffered or incurred a greater loss than him.
*.For the attainment of knowledge satisfaction is useful and satisfaction is not gained by increasing information but by decreasing it.
