*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Welcome to Islam, - Justice: Islam’s ultimate value

:-> Allaah The Almighty Says )what means(:"And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance. That you not transgress within the balance. And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.”]Quran 55:7-9[ These verses of the Quran, which are mentioned in the chapterAr-Rahmaan, or“)God( the All-Merciful” stand out in their emphasis of the importance of justice because they unite justice with the important theological principle of Allaah’sKhalqandAmror His “Creation and Command.” These verses make justice both the basis of the creation and its source of continuity )by commanding justice(. This is true because, in essence, the balance is the symbol of justice and its means of realization at the same time. Heavens and earth were originally created with justice in a balanced way and they can only )or were meant to( continue with it. Muslims accepted this magnificent guidance and ultimate value of life, more than 1400 years ago. The great Commentator of the Quran, Imaam Abu Ja'far At-Tabari )d. 310 AH( expounded the aforementioned verses, saying,“Allaah created Heavens and Earth by )and in( justice so that all things in them exist )and interact( by )and in( justice.” And there is not a single nation, past or present, but that it has asserted its claims of honoring justice and being just. Yet, the justice they claimed, at times, meant nothing more than what the “powers that be” wanted. Or sometimes justice represented what is recognized and utilized by a majority or a certain religion or ethnicity. What humans mean by justice, in other words, may differ in its meaning and means from one nation to another. It is interesting to note that Socrates )killed in 339 BC( defined justice as the, “Will of the powerful,” and it is also interesting that this applies the vast majority of the time in situations when religious values are absent or weak. It is even more interesting that some of the theories man has, overtime, developed using ‘rationality' and empiricism, and which exceedingly tilt the balance of justice in favor of the powerful or the rich, still flourish in modern times and continue to find advocates or even unabashed supporters who will kill or die for them. In one of the 100 or so verses which deal with theessentials of justice and fairness, the Quran tells us of this perversion of justice that sometimes occurs in the course of human events. Verse 25 of the chapter )57(Al-Hadeed,“the Iron,” pregnant with meanings and profusely poignant, lay bear the reality about the roots of injustice among people. Many people mention being motivated by hearing this verse recited just once. Allaah Says )what means(:“We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain ]their affairs[ in justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allaah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allaah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.”]Quran 57:25[ So many points of benefit, so much to learn and live by. For one, the balance of justice is mentioned along with the Books, guidance from Allaah, to indicate that true justice needs a compass to save itself from relativism and free judgment from personal drive. This also means that the interpretation of Allaah’s Guidance must be free from whims and ignorance, and this effort to free one’s self from whims and ignorance is what Muslim scholars—who are the interpreters of Allaah’s Final Message— termIjtihaad. Thepoint is that Allaah’s Guidance entails that only people of knowledge who are able and honest may interpret Divine texts. Ignoring this prerequisite has led—in many times and places—to gross justifications and evil consequences. Without this guidance, man has done enough to give Socrates’ definition of justice precedence over any other. Another point worthy of our attention here is the fact that Allaah is reminding us that He has provided the messengers with iron to go along with the guidance and the command to establish justice. Man has known, for untold centuries, that he cannot institute justice in almost any walk of life, or protect justice whenever needed, without the power of iron. But the intent of the message of this verse is unambiguous. Allmessengers from Allaah, who were sent to various nations throughout history, came with the very same message. The implication of this is so profound, especially for today’s Muslims. We must acknowledge and respect that loving and establishing justice is a human trait, not an attribute of the Muslim Ummahalone. In fact, our scholars have long asserted, based on the aforementioned verses among many others, that Allaah grants supremacy to a just government or nation even though it may be disbelieving, and He takes away supremacy from an unjust government or nation even though it may be believing. This is how just the Islamic worldview is. And a Muslim would not be completely truthful to his belief without accepting this view. Muslims should support justice and those who seek it and they should feel happy every time justice triumphs. But judging by the current situation of most Muslim countries and communities around the world, itis not difficult to see that we have strayed from justice. To lure itback home, we need to coincide with the guidance of ourKitaab)the Quran( first.

Hijaab, - False allegations against Hijaab

:-> It is falsely alleged that chastity is a behavior which stems from a chaste self which hates filth and insolence and that wearing theHijaab)Islamic covering( and avoiding intermixing with non-Mahram)marriageable( men does not necessarily mean purity of behavior and avoiding impermissible things. To substantiate such claims, the advocates of corruption try to find proofs everywhere. There is no room here to mention these proofs and refute them. Nevertheless, I truly wonder at those who do not allow a wholesome healthy person to intermix with those who are ill and they themselves are the first to flee from the places of epidemics, while at the same time they push pure and chaste women to the places of corruption claiming that the strength of their faith will protect them. Dear reader, the scope of this article does not permit me to discuss the issue ofHijaabin detail; however, I will refer to some points: First: TheSharee‘ah-approvedHijaabis substantiated with multiple proofs from the Quran and theSunnah)prophetic tradition(. Allaah The Exalted Says )what means(: ·}O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves ]part[ of their outer garments.{]Quran 33: 59[ ·}And when you ask ]his wives[ for something, ask them from behind a partition.{]Quran 33: 53[ ·}…and to wrap ]a portion of[ their headcovers over their chests{]Quran 24: 31[ Second:There are multipleSharee‘ahtexts to prevent intermixing between the two sexes, including: ·It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said:"The best rows for men are the first rows and the worst, the last rows; and the best rows for women are the last rows and the worst, the first rows."]Muslim, Abu Daawood, At-Tirmithi and An-Nasaa’i[ ·It was narrated on the authority of Umm Salamah, may Allaah be pleased with her, that she said,"After ending the prayer by saying Tasleem )saying Assalaamu-'Alaykum(, the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to remain in his place for a while." It is said that he used to do so, so that women could go out before the men."]Al-Bukhaari[ ·It was narrated on the authority of Abu Usayd, Maalik ibn Rabee‘ah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that he heard the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, say to women when he was coming out of theMasjid, and men and women were intermixed in the road:"Draw back, for you must not walk in the middle of the road; keep to the sides of the road."After that women kept so close to the wall that their garments used to rub against it. ]Abu Daawood and Ibn Hibbaan[ ·Naafi‘ narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar, may Allaah be pleased with them, that the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said:"It would be better if we left this door for women."Naafi‘, may Allaah have mercy upon him, added,"Ibn ‘Umar, may Allaah be pleased with him, never entered the Masjid through this door until he died."]Abu Daawood[ ·It was narrated on the authority of Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullaah, may Allaah be pleased with them, that women used to go out for the‘Eedprayer but they were away from the men's place of prayer. ]Al-Bukhaari[ Third:There are many religious and worldly harms for intermixing and non-adherence to theHijaab: ·It is an act of disobedience to Allaah The Almighty and His Messenger, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. ·It entails curse and expulsion from the Mercy of Allaah The Almighty. ·It contributes to spreading immorality in the society. ·It features imitation of the Jews and similar people who seek corruption on earth. Intermixing between the sexes and non-adherence toHijaaboccurred when theUmmah)nation( was weak, humiliated and backward. Such things spread among Muslims when they were controlled by secularists and agents such as Ataturk, the Khedive and the likes of them. They are the causes of many worldly harms including the spread of crimes, destroying family ties, abusing women by turning them into goods, the spread of incurable diseases, the spread of sexual deviation as well as other diseases. Fourth: We do not say that every woman who is adherent to theHijaabis infallible or that every unveiled woman is a sinner; rather, we ask: was it theHijaabthat led the adherent woman to vice or was it the weakness of her faith? Was it faith and morals that prevented the unveiled woman from vice or was it the impermissible exposure of her body and her indecency? TheHijaabis the best support for the woman to maintain her bashfulness and save her from evil eyes and immoral gazes. You can ask those who indulged in intermixing between the sexes about the consequences of their approach. Finally, I conclude with a statement by Helen Stanberry, an American journalist who spent several weeks in Cairo then returned to America. She said, " Arab society is complete and wholesome. It is appropriate for this society to maintain its traditions which place restrictions on young men and women within reasonable limits. Unlike European and American societies, Arab society enjoys a set of inherited morals that impose restrictions on women, respecting parents and more than this, preventing Western immorality which is today destroying society as well as the family in Europe and America…. Stop intermixing between the sexes and put restrictions on young women. Rather, return to the era of Hijaab, for this is better for you than the dissoluteness, freedom and insolence of Europe and America. The American community has become complicated and filled with all forms of permissiveness and insolence. Victims of intermixing between the sexes and freedom fill prisons, sidewalks, bars and secret houses. The freedom which we have given to our young sons and daughters has turned them into gangs of delinquents, addicts and slave traders."

Hijaab, - “Hijaab is Ultimate Freedom”

:-> Hijaab)Islamic covering( has become a highly controversial issue in the West in general and in France in particular after the ban on wearingHijaabin its public schools and other places. This ban came as part of the policy of racial discrimination and negative attitudes towards Islam, which aims at eliminating the means of understating the importance ofHijaaband its role in society. However, this pressure should not prevent the Muslim woman from adhering to herHijaabeven if this requires leaving the country that fights it. We interviewed some non-Arab Muslim women and some employed sisters to shed light on the importance ofHijaaband its influence on their lives through their own experiences, and whetherHijaabhinders their progress. Hijaabis a great blessing: Yugoslavian, ‎Dr. Suzan Habib, 38 years old, who currently lives in Lebanon with her family, spoke about the importance ofHijaabin her life since she began wearing it 15 years ago, saying, "Hijaabis the greatest blessing that Allaah The Exalted bestowed upon me and I thank Him for it, in spite of the difficulties that I faced in my life since I left my family in Yugoslavia to marry a Muslim man. I became accustomed to a new lifestyle. Indeed, I left the material life behind me, but I am happy and pleased." Dr. Suzan has worn theHijaabsince the late eighties, when adherence to theHijaabwas still rare in Yugoslavia. Her family opposed the idea, but she insisted on wearing theHijaab, as what was important to her was to please Allaah The Almighty. She says, "I am assured and satisfied in spite of the fact that some people think ofHijaabas old fashioned. However, many people respected my decision to wear theHijaaband blessed it considering it a step to what is better." When we asked her about her opinion about the ban onHijaabin France, she said, "FightingHijaabmeans fighting Islam and hating it. I wonder! Where is the freedom that France claims, while it sets regulations on the personal freedom of Muslims? How can they banHijaab? Is it acceptable to grant freedom only to immorality and corruption? This shows their utter ignorance. Is the woman who adheres toHijaabto protect herself considered unworthy of freedom? How is a woman judged in such cases as these?" Dr. Suzan adds, "Hijaabgives the woman the freedom to move and work. MyHijaabis not an obstacle in the way of my work as a physician and I do my work with absolute freedom and deal with all social classes. The woman who wearsHijaabcan respectably work in many job. Islam gave women the right to wearHijaabin order to protect her from corruption and preserve her as a human, and maintain her dignity." Why do they interfere with people’s choices regarding what they wear? A French Muslim sister, Marian Jose )Maryam(, 36 years old speaks about how she began wearing theHijaab14 years ago, saying, "Before wearing theHijaab, I was living in a community dominated by the values of moral dissolution and absurdity. The youth in particular went over to the life of recklessness that encouraged them to spend their time in nightclubs, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, and having unlawful sexual relations. These evils take place under the pretext of "personal freedom" that the French enjoy. This continued until I met some Muslim students who influenced me greatly especially regarding my religiousness. I then realized that personal freedom is not about abandoning values and morals or keeping away from religion; on the contrary, theHijaaband Islam in general gave me freedom that allowed me to recognize my true value as a respectable human and not a cheap commodity that is available to everyone." She commented on the ban onHijaab, saying, "Adherence toHijaabdoes not accord with the fancies of many people; therefore, they ban and fight it especially that the woman in many societies has become a tool for promoting various goods and products. That is why the woman’s wearingHijaabis inconvenient for them because it will constrain their greed and exploitation of women. I believe that issuing a law targeting a particular social group in French society is based on a racial policy that contradicts the spirit of modern constitutions and legislation, which call for equality between all citizens regarding their rights and duties." Maryam wonders, "Imposing a ban onHijaabpractically means imposing a particular style of clothes on girls and this is essentially inconsistent with the principles of personal freedom firstly as well as contradicting religious freedom. Consequently, it imposes principles of a new secular creed." Hijaabis necessary to achieve equality between men and women: An American Muslim woman, Julia Wayne, 29 years old, who has been wearingHijaabfor ten years, takes pride in herHijaabsaying, "Hijaabis what distinguishes me, especially when I go to America…I feel that I am distinguished from other women.Hijaabenables me to keep my femininity to myself and it is no longer available for everyone to see. Islam considers the woman a jewel that must be protected, respected, and honored. This is what I call the personal freedom of the woman. I managed to complete my study in the field of commerce and myHijaabdid not prevent me from it. This is because the opinion of the men and students of me was different from other women who do not wear theHijaab, theHijaabforced them to respect me. Some people depictHijaabas a means for excluding women from mainstream society and keeping her at home away from participation in the political and cultural movement of the society. They also present theHijaabas an example of discrimination in Islam against women. I believe that this way of thinking is the cause of injustice and denying women’s rights. In fact, Islam introduced theHijaabto provide the woman with protection and to enable her to engage in public life." As for the real cause behind the campaign against theHijaab, she said, "I think that the campaign againstHijaabis due to the background of the deep-rooted fear of the natural increase in the Muslim population in France, particularly that the average age of the European population ‎in general and France in particular is high. In addition, France considers this as a warning against the global spread of Islam as a creed, culture, and identity. We should also not forget that Islam is the second religion in France. In my opinion, the IslamicHijaabis a personal choice and an integral part of the public, personal, and religious freedoms." A civil engineer, ‘Aa’ishah ‘Abdur-Rahmaan, 24 years old, who wanted to travel to France to complete her studies, said, "Hijaabis an integral part of a woman’s personality through which she protects herself and society against immorality. It is better for us to be aware of what is wrong before committing it, because prevention is better than treatment. Why do we wait until we fall into mistakes and then find ourselves forced to face the evil consequences? No one can make a mistake without being affected by his environment. In such a case, protection is a virtue because it protects one against falling into what is worse. They deny the woman some of her sought rights, asHijaabgives the woman freedom.Hijaabdoes not impose limitations on the woman, but it deters those who are immoral. In such a case, your freedom will be limited." As for her own experience withHijaab, she said, "I believe thatHijaabdoes not create an obstacle as it only veils a woman’s beauty, not her mind or freedom and it increases people’s respect for her." Ghaadah Amhaz, 28 years old, said about the ban onHijaab, "The campaign againstHijaabis a campaign against the Muslim woman who is responsible for her family. The Muslim woman all over the world plays a vital role on all political and social levels, while taking care of her family at the same time.Hijaabnever hinders educational progress, as seeking knowledge is a duty on every Muslim man and woman. In addition, there is no Islamic text separating the woman’sHijaaband her work and knowledge. Of course, this is what we call Divine Justice. Cultural and political attempts to eliminate the values of the community seek to spread immorality. Of course, this does not accord with the presence of women who adhere to theHijaab. Moreover, the mass media helps this invasion through exploiting the body and beauty of the woman in a cheap way. This is contrary to the woman who wears theHijaaband behaves as a human being with dignity and true value. Hijaabnever deprived me of my personal rights. Finally, I take this opportunity to say that the mass media must present purposeful programs that enlighten the youth and warn them against the dangers of falling into immorality and abandoning their values and beliefs."
