*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

For children, - Preparing for the Hereafter: Drawbacks of a Palace, King Story

ShareShare

Many years ago there lived a King who built himself a huge and magnificent palace. No one had seen anything like it before. The turrets rose into the sky and many expensive materials were used in its construction. The King invited one and all to come and view his palace and left a guest book at the entrance for them to sign and leave comments in.
He took pleasure in reading the various praises that people visiting the palace had written for him in the book. However, he came across two comments that were not in keeping with the general feeling. These two comments were not in praise of the palace; on the contrary, they criticized it. The King was upset and summoned the authors of the comments. At first, neither of them was ready to explain his comment but, after the King assured them that their lives were not in danger, they disclosed the reasons.
"O King! There are two weaknesses in this palace. The first of these is that some day, the palace will turn into ruins, and the second one is that it does not have anything to ensure that its owner will not be separated from it one day. In a life of just a few days, why do we have to attach ourselves to such worldly, material things?" (Bikhre Moti)
Man will soon die and leave behind all his worldly possessions. What will accompany him the journey to the Hereafter are his noble deeds.
Imam Ali al Hadi (as)said: In the world, people are publicized by their property, wealth and asset, and in eternity they are known by their deeds and actions.
"Wealth and children are an adornment of the life of the world, but lasting righteous deeds are better with your Lord in reward and better in hope." Noble Qur'an, (18:46)
Wisdom therefore dictates that man should focus his attention to things that are imperishable and highly rewardable.
Imam Ali (as)said: The world is a passage lodging, and eternity is a place everlasting, yon should take advantage of the opportunity to save something from your passage lodging for the rest of your Journey.
Some body asked Imam Hassan Mojtaba (as):
Why are we reluctant to die, why don't we like death?
"Because", replied the Imam Hassan Mojtaba (as), "You ruined your next world (hereafter) and developed this one; naturally, you do not like to be transferred from flourishing to decline."
Imam Hassan Mojtaba (as) said: The faithful people use this world to gather provisions for the next world but faithless people only enjoy the fruits of this world while living.
Imam Jafar Sadegh (as)quoted on the authority of Holy Prophet Muhammad (saww): What do I have to do with this world, and what does this world have to do with me? The story of me and the world is similar to that of a man who is riding on a hot day and reaches a tree. He takes a nap under the shade of the tree for a short while, and then goes on leaving the tree behind.
Imam Jafar Sadegh (as) said: The person, who is attached much to the world, when it is time to depart, will have many deep regrets and many grievances.

The meaning of worship
To understand why human beings need to worship God, one must first understand what is meant by the term 'worship.' The English term 'worship' comes from the old English 'weorthescipe' meaning 'honor'. Consequently, worship in the English language is defined as ‘the performance of devotional acts in honor of a deity’. According to this meaning, man is instructed to show gratitude to God by glorifying Him.
In Chapter An-Nasr of the final revelation, Allaah Says )what means(:"Glorify the praises of your Lord."]Quran 110 : 3[. In glorifying God, man chooses to be in harmony with the rest of the creation, which naturally glorifies its Creator. Allaah addresses this phenomenon in many chapters of the Quran. For example, in chapter Al-Israa, Allaah states )what means(:"The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them glorify Him and there is nothing which does not glorify His praise. However, you do not understand their glorification."]Quran 17: 44[
However, in Arabic, the language of the final revelation, worship is called ‘`Ibaadah’, which is closely related to the noun ‘`Abd’, meaning ‘a slave.’ A slave is one who is expected to do whatever his master wills.
Consequently, worship, according to the final revelation, means 'obedient submission to the will of God.' This was the essence of the message of all the prophets sent by God to humankind. For example, this understanding of worship was emphatically expressed by Prophet ‘Eesaa )Jesus(, may Allaah exalt his mention, in the Gospel according to Matthew, 7 : 21: "None of those who call me 'Lord' will enter the kingdom of God, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven."
It should be noted that 'will' in this quote means 'what God wants human beings to do' and not 'what God permits humans to do', because nothing happens in creation without the will )permission( of God. The 'Will of God' is contained in the divinely revealed laws, which the prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, taught their followers. Consequently, obedience to divine law is the foundation of worship. In this sense, glorification also becomes worship when humans choose to obey God's instructions regarding His glorification.
The need for worship
Why do human beings need to worship and glorify God by obeying the divinely revealed laws? This is because obedience to divine law is the key to success in this life and the next. The first human beings, Aadam )Adam(, may Allaah exalt his mention, and Eve, were created in paradise and later expelled from paradise for disobeying the divine law. The only way for human beings to return to paradise is by obedience to the law.
’Eesaa )Jesus, the Messiah(, may Allaah exalt his mention, was reported in the Gospel according to Matthew to have made obedience to the divine laws the key to paradise: Now behold, one came and said to him: "Good teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" So he said to him: "Why do you call me good? No one is good but One that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
Also in Matthew 5:19, ‘Eesaa )Jesus(, may Allaah exalt his mention, was reported to have insisted on strict obedience to the commandments, saying: "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven"
Divine laws represent guidance for humankind in all walks of life. They define right and wrong for them and offer human beings a complete system governing all of their affairs. The Creator alone knows best what is beneficial for His creation and what is not. The divine laws command and prohibit various acts and substances to protect the human spirit, the human body and human society from harm. In order for human beings to fulfill their potential by living righteous lives, they need to worship God through obedience to His commandments.
Remembrance of God
All of the various acts of worship contained in the divine laws are designed to help humans remember God. It is natural for human beings to sometimes forget even the most important things. Humans often become so engrossed in fulfilling their material needs that they totally forget their spiritual needs.
Regular prayer is ordained to organize the day of the true believer around the remembrance of God. It interweaves spiritual needs with material needs on a daily basis. The regular daily need to eat, work and sleep is linked to the daily need to renew man's connection with God. With regard to regular prayer, Allaah states in the final revelation, Chapter Taa Haa )what means(:"Verily, I am Allaah, there is no god beside Me, so worship Me and establish regular prayer for My remembrance."]Quran 20:14[
Regarding fasting, Allaah stated in Chapter Al-Baqarah )what means(:"O you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you that you may become God-conscious."]Quran 2:183[
The believers are encouraged to remember God as much as possible. Although, moderation in all spheres of life, whether material or spiritual, is generally encouraged in divine law, an exception is made regarding the remembrance of Allaah. It is virtually impossible to remember God too much. Consequently, in the final revelation, Chapter Al-Ahzaab, Allaah encourages the believers to remember God as often as possible )what means(:"O believers! Remember Allaah often."]Quran 33:41[
Remembrance of God is stressed because sin is generally committed when God is forgotten. The forces of evil operate most freely when consciousness of God is lost. Consequently, the satanic forces seek to occupy people's minds with irrelevant thoughts and desires to make them forget God. Once God is forgotten, people willingly join the corrupt elements. The final revelation, the Quran, addresses this phenomenon in Chapter Al-Mujaadalah as follows )which means(:"Satan got the better of them and caused them to forget Allaah. Those are the party of Satan. Truly the party of Satan are the real losers"]Quran 58:19[
God, through divine law, has prohibited intoxicants and gambling primarily because they cause human beings to forget God. The human mind and body easily become addicted to drugs and games of chance. Once addicted, humankind's desire to continually be stimulated by them leads them into all forms of corruption and violence among themselves. Allaah Says in Chapter Al-Maa'idah of the final revelation )what means(:"Satan's plan is to incite enmity and hatred among you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allaah and regular prayer. Will you not then abstain?"]Quran 5 : 91[
Consequently, humankind needs to remember God for their own salvation and growth. All humans have times of weakness in which they commit sins. If they have no means of remembering God, they sink deeper and deeper into corruption with every sin. However, those who follow the divine laws will be constantly reminded of God, which will give them a chance to repent and correct themselves. The final revelation accurately describes this process in Chapter Aal 'Imraan )what means(:
" Those who, having done something shameful or having wronged their own souls, remember Allaah and immediately ask forgiveness for their sins…"]Quran 3:135[
The religion of Islam
The most complete system of worship available to human beings today is the system found in the religion of Islam. The very name 'Islam' means 'submission to the will of God.' Although it is commonly referred to as ‘the third of the three monotheistic faiths,' it is not a new religion at all. It is the religion brought by all of the prophets of God, may Allaah exalt their mention, for humankind. Islam was the religion of Aadam )Adam(, Ibraaheem )Abraham(, Moosaa )Moses( and ‘Eesaa )Jesus(, may Allaah exalt their mention.
God addresses this issue in the final revelation with regard to Prophet Abraham, may Allaah exalt his mention, saying )what means(:"Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was an upright Muslim who did not worship others besides God."]Quran 3 : 67[
Since there is only One God and humankind are one species, the religion, which God has ordained for human beings, is one. He did not prescribe one religion for the Jews, another for Indians, yet another for Europeans, etc. Human spiritual and social needs are uniform, and human nature has not changed since the first man and woman were created. Consequently, no other religion is acceptable to God besides Islam, as He clearly states in Chapter Aal 'Imraan of the final revelation )what means(:"Surely Allaah's religion is Islam."]Quran 3:19[
And )what means(:"And whoever desires a religion besides Islam will not have it accepted, and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter."]Quran 3:85[

Discover Islam, - The purpose of creation -I

ShareShare
The purpose of creation is a topic that puzzles every human being at some point in his or her lifetime. Everybody, at some time or another, asks themselves the question: "Why do I exist?" or "For what purpose am I here on earth?"
The variety and complexity of the intricate systems, which constitute the fabric of both human beings and the world in which they exist, indicate that there must have been a Supreme Being who created them. Design indicates a designer. When human beings come across footprints on a beach, they immediately conclude that a human being had walked by there some time previously.
No one imagines that the waves from the sea settled in the sand and by chance produced a depression looking exactly like human footprints. Nor do humans instinctively conclude that they were brought into existence without a purpose. Since purposeful action is a natural product of human intelligence, humans conclude that the Supreme Intelligent Being who created them must have done so for a specific purpose. Therefore, human beings need to know the purpose for their existence in order to make sense of this life and to do what is ultimately beneficial for them.
Throughout the ages, however, there has been a minority among humans who have denied the existence of God. Matter, in their opinion, is eternal and mankind is merely a chance product of accidental combinations of its elements. Consequently, for them there was no answer to the question: "Why did God create man?" According to them, there simply is no purpose to existence. However, the vast majority of humankind over the ages have believed and continue to believe in the existence of a Supreme Being who created this world with a purpose. For them it was, and still is, important to know about the Creator and the purpose for which He created human beings.
Why did God create man?
To answer the question: "Why did God create man?" it must first be determined from which perspective the question is being asked. From the point of view of God it would mean: "What caused God to create human beings?" While from the human point of view it would mean: "For what purpose did God create humans?" Both points of view represent aspects of the intriguing question: "Why do I exist?"
In the following pages, both aspects of the question will be explored based on the clear picture painted by divine revelation. This is not a topic for human speculation, because human guesswork cannot possibly produce the whole truth in this matter. How can human beings intellectually deduce the reality of their existence when they can hardly understand how their own brain or its higher entity, the mind, functions?
Consequently, the numerous philosophers who have speculated on this question through the ages have come up with innumerable answers, all of which are based on assumptions, which cannot be proven. Questions on this topic have even led a number of philosophers to claim that we do not really exist and that the whole world is imaginary.
For example, the Greek philosopher Plato )428-348 CE( argued that the everyday world of changeable things, which man comes to know by the use of his senses, is not the primary reality, but is a shadow world of appearances.
Many others, claimed and continue to claim that there is no purpose for the creation of humans at all. According to them, human existence is merely a product of chance. There can be no purpose if life evolved from non-living matter, which only became animate by pure luck. Humankind's supposed 'cousins,' the monkeys and apes, are not bothered with questions of existence, so why should human beings be bothered with them?!
The necessity of the answer
Although most people put the question of why we are created aside after occasional brief reflection, it is extremely critical for human beings to know the answer. Without knowledge of the correct answer, human beings become indistinguishable from the other animals around them. The animal needs and desires like eating, drinking and procreating become the purpose of human existence by default, and human effort is then focused to this limited sphere.
When material satisfaction develops into the most important goal in life, human existence becomes even more degraded than that of the lowest of animals. Human beings will consistently misuse their God-given intelligence when they lack knowledge of their purpose of existence. The degraded human mind uses its abilities to create drugs and bombs and becomes engrossed in fornication, pornography, homosexuality, fortune-telling etc.
Without knowledge of the purpose of life, human existence loses all meaning and is consequently wasted, and the reward of an eternal life of happiness in the hereafter is completely destroyed. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that human beings correctly answer the question: "Why are we here?"
How to know the answer
Humans most often turn to other human beings like themselves for answers. However, the only place that clear and precise answers to these questions can be found is in the books of Divine Revelation. It was necessary that God reveal the purpose to man through His prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, because human beings are incapable of arriving at the correct answers by themselves. All of the prophets of God taught their followers the answers to the question: "Why did God create man?"
From the perspective of humankind, the question "Why did God create man?' implies: "For what purpose was man created?" In the final revelation )i.e. The Holy Quran(, this question is answered without any ambiguity. God informed humans that every human being is born with an innate consciousness of God.
In Chapter Al-A'raaf, Allaah Says )what means(:"]Remember[ when your Lord extracted from the loins of Aadam's children their descendants and made them testify )saying(: 'Am I not your Lord?' They said: 'Yes, we testify to it.' ]This was[ in case you say on the Day of Judgment: 'We were unaware of this.' Or you say: "It was our ancestors who worshipped others besides God and we are only their descendants. Will you then destroy us for what those falsifiers did?'"
]Quran 7: 172-3[
The Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, )may Allaah exalt his mention( explained that when Allaah created Aadam )Adam(, may Allaah exalt his mention, He took from him a covenant at a place called Na'maan on the 9th day of the 12th month. He then extracted from Aadam, may Allaah exalt his mention, all of his descendants who would be born until the end of the world, generation after generation, and spread them out before Him to take a covenant from them. He spoke to them, making them bear witness that He was their Lord.
Consequently, every human being is responsible for belief in God, which is imprinted on each and every soul. It is based on this inborn belief that Allaah defined the purpose of humankind's creation in Chapter Ath-Thaariyaat )which means(:"I have created the jinn and humankind only for My worship."]Quran 51: 56[
We are here to worship God
Thus, the essential purpose for which humankind was created is the worship of God. However, the Almighty is not in need of human worship. He did not create human beings out of a need on His part. If not a single human worshipped God, it would not diminish His Glory in any way, and if all of mankind worshipped Him, it would not increase His Glory in any way. God is Perfect. He alone exists without any needs. All created beings have needs. Consequently, it is humankind that needs to worship God.

Discover Islam, - Every nation was sent a messenger

ShareShare
It is an Islamic belief that every nation was sent a Messenger for their guidance. The important matter was the concept of Tawheed, or belief in the Oneness of Allaah(. The secondary matter was Sharee'ah, or religious Law, which kept changing from tribe to tribe and nation to another. Allaah the Most High alone knows what is good for His creation.
As it is mentioned in the Quran, what means:"And for every nation is a messenger. So when their Messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged." ]Quran 10:47[ And: "And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, ]saying[: 'Worship Allaah and avoid Taaghoot ]i.e., false deities['. And among them were those upon whom error was ]deservedly[ decreed. So proceed ]i.e., travel[ through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers."]Quran 16:36[
Some of these Messengers are mentioned in the Quran by Allaah and some of them are not, as the Quran says, what means:"And We have certainly sent messengers before you ]O Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam[. Among them are those ]whose stories[ We have related to you, and among them are those ]whose stories[ We have not related to you. And it was not for a messenger to bring a sign ]or verse[ except by permission of Allaah. So when the command of Allaah comes, it will be concluded ]i.e., judged[ in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose ]all[."]Quran 40:78[
So, we decided to have a look at the issue of Messengers sent to various tribes and nations and take the advice mentioned in the Quran, which means:"… So proceed ]i.e., travel[ throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied."]Quran 3:137[
The content in this post is a discovery by serendipity. The information sometimes came from lazy browsing through the books on social anthropology and sometimes from serious research.
The Kapauku Papuans ofWest Guinea:
The material below is an attempt to show how different tribes in different parts of the world had Monotheism, or worship of the One True God. But along with the True God some subservient gods were also worshipped in some cases. It is taken from a book called "The Kapauku Papuans ofWest Guinea" by Leopold Pospisil. It is a case study of a Stone Age Kapauku tribe that led their aboriginal lives undisturbed by the spreading western civilisation until 1938.
The Kapauku Papuans are mountain people who belong to one of the several tribes whose members inhabit the central highlands of westernNew Guinea. Their country, most of which lies 1500m above sea level, is composed of rugged mountain chains and deep valleys.
The Kapauku have an interesting worldview. Regarding the Creator of the universe, the Kapauku believe that the universe itself and all existence was Ebijata, 'designed by Ugatame', the creator. Ugatame has a dual nature and is manifested to the people by the duality of the sun and the moon. To them, the sun and moon are definitely not creators themselves - they are only manifestations of Ugatame to make his presence known to the people.
Ugatame is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, credited with the creation of all things and with having determined all events. Obviously, Ugatame is beyond existence because to the Kapauku, all that exists must be of phenomenal nature; one must be able to see, hear, smell, taste or feel it. But the creator is beyond this phenomenal dimension, because of the simple reason that he created it.
Here is an interesting argument between a Kapauku and a Christian Missionary: "In the year 1955 a very old man from the Mapia region, supported by his two sons, managed to meet a Christian missionary. His main purpose was a problem he wanted to have clarified before he died. He could not understand how it is possible that the white man could be so clever and ingenious in designing such amazing contrivances as aeroplanes )which the old man could see flying over his valley(, guns, medicines, clothes, and steel tools, and at the same time be so primitive and illogical in his religion.
"How can you think," he argued, "that a man can sin and can have a free will, and at the same time believe that your God is omnipotent, that He created the world and determined all the happenings? If He determined all that happens, and )therefore( also the bad deeds, how can a man be held responsible? Why, if he is omnipotent, did the Creator have to change himself into a man to allow himself to be killed )crucified( when it would have been enough for him just to order men to behave?" The notion that anything can be absolutely bad or good was quite incomprehensible to him. Furthermore, the Christian notion of man resembling God in appearance appeared to him as utterly primitive )or "tabe-tabe", meaning stupid(!"
It is quite surprising that a tribe thought to be from the Stone Age could argue so rationally and logically with a Christian missionary on the aspect of God. We Muslims also use the same arguments when it comes to the concept of God. It comes as no surprise to us that when the Kapauku heard that God became man they called the concept "primitive" and "tabe-tabe" )stupid(. Well, 'polemics' against Christianity started in the Stone Age itself and Muslims are not to be blamed for that!
Lastly, where is this Ugatame, their supreme god, residing? In the view of Kamu Kapauku, the world is a flat block of stone and soil that is surrounded with water and extends indefinitely into the depths thus providing no room for an underworld. Above the earth is a solid bowl of blue sky that limits the known world at the horizon. Beyond the solid bowl of sky exists another world that may be similar to ours, the abode of Ugatame, the Creator.
It is quite surprising that the Kapauku knew where their God is. The Pharaoh knew where the God of Moosaa )Moses(, may Allaah exalt his mention, is, as the following verse mentions, which means:"And Fir'awn )Pharaoh( said: 'O eminent ones! I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Haamaan, ]a fire[ upon the clay, and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moosaa. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars."]Quran: 28:38[
Most people today are not aware where God is. They say that God is everywhere, in us and in them. For Muslims it is an important point of creed and must be known. Know you Lord before everything else!
To conclude, the Islamic belief is that every nation on the earth was sent a Prophet for their guidance. As time passed by, corruption was introduced in the religion and instead of worshipping One true God, false deities were worshipped along with Him. The best example would be ofArabiabefore the advent of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam )may Allaah exalt his mention(. They worshipped idols like Al-'Uzzaa along with Allaah, the One and only true God.

TRUE LOVE OF THE PROPHETACCORDING TO THE QUR'AN

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed, all praises are due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His Aid, and beg for His Forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil in ourselves and from the evil outcomes of our deeds. Whomsoever, Allah, Ta 'Ala, guides, no one and nothing can take that person astray. Whomsoever, Allah, Ta 'Ala, takes astray, no one or nothing can guide that person. I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah who is alone without any associates. I bear witness that Muhammad ibnu 'Abd Allah (SAAW) is Allah's 'Abd (slave) and Messenger. To proceed:
Allah has commanded in the Qur'an (what means): "O you who believe! Have Taqwah (true fear of Allah) according to His right and die not except that you are a Muslim. O Mankind! Have Taqwah of your Lord. The One Who created you from a single soul and from him He created his mate and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual rights and do not cut off the ties of kinship; surely Allah is ever a Raqeeb (All-Watcher) over you. O you who believe! Have Taqwah of Allah and always speak the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (SAAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement."
Verily, the best speech is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ibnu 'Abd Allah (SAAW). The worst of all affairs in this Diyn are innovations. Every innovation is a Bid'ah and every Bid'ah is a going astray and every going astray is in the Hell Fire.
DEVELOPING TRUE LOVE FOR ALLAH'S MESSENGER (SAAW):
Having the proper love for Allah's Messenger (SAAW) is a must for any Muslim who is striving to please his/her Lord and who seeks his/her Lord's Forgiveness. Learning how to properly apply this love for the last Nabee (SAAW) is to properly implement the testimony: wa ash hadu ana Muhammadan rusulu Allah (SAAW). Indeed, one cannot just say he/she loves the Prophet (SAAW) while his/her actions and 'Aqeedah are fundamentaly against what the Prophet (SAAW) brought (i.e. the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah). Hence, the first step in the process of developing this love is to acknowledge that the Prophet (SAAW) has a claim over the believers.
Allah has said in the Qur'an (what means): "The Prophet (SAAW) is closer to the believers than their ownselves..." [Al-Ahzab: 6].
Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah (Rahimullah), one of the great scholars of this Ummah, relates that this Ayah means the Prophet (SAAW) has a "higher claim" on the believers than they have on themselves. This claim involves two important matters:
1. WE CONSIDER ALLAH'S MESSENGER (SAAW) TO BE DEARER THAN OUR OWN SELVES.
This is so because this claim is based on love. One has the most claim to oneself for one loves oneself more than anything. Thus, a person knows what types of foods, clothing, etc. he/she likes to eat, drink, etc. more than all others. However, when it comes to Islam, we know that Allah knows us better than we know ourselves; thus, we submit to Him and His Orders. We it comes to the Prophet (SAAW), we are to love him more than our own selves; thus, we too put his commandments above our own opinions, logic, etc.
Once this true love is established, compliance, obedience, satisfication with his (SAAW) jugdements, and other matters related to true love will follow. This is confirmed in the following authentic Haadith found in Sahih Al-Bukhari:
Narrated 'Abd Allah bin Hisham: 'We were with the Prophet (SAAW) and he was holding the hand of 'Umar ibnu Al-Khattab (RAA). 'Umar said to him, "O Allah's Messenger (SAAW)! You are dearer to me than everything except my ownself." Allah's Messenger (SAAW) said: "No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, (you will not have complete Faith) untill I am dearer to you than your ownself." Then 'Umar (RAA) said: "However, now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than my ownself." He (SAAW) then said: "Now, O 'Umar, (now you are a believer)."
LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH:
A. The Negation and Affirmation:
The Prophet (SAAW) negates (i.e. rejects, denies) that a person can have complete Imaan with his statement, "No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is...". Thus, the affirmation, or condition of having complete Imaan, follows: "...until I am dearer to you than your ownself...". Therefore, the Muslim will never attain true Imaan unless he/she considers the Prophet (SAAW) to be dearer to him/her than everything including one's ownself.
B. Character of the Sahabah:
Upon hearing that true Imaan can only be achieved through loving the Messenger (SAAW) more than everything, including one's self, 'Umar (RAA) quickly complied with the commandment of the Prophet (SAAW). The Sahabah wasted no time in doing those acts which were pleasing to Allah and His Messeger (SAAW).
2. SECOND IMPORTANT MATTER:
The Messenger (SAAW) has more rule over an individual than that individual has over his/herself. This means that a person only does those actions which are in accordance with the Book of Allah and the authentic Sunnah of His Messenger (SAAW).
Therefore, three critical conditions must be fulfilled in order for a deed to be accepted:
a. One must confess his/her belief in Islam (i.e. one must be a Muslim). b. One must have Ikhlaas of the Niyah (i.e. purity of the intention). c. One must do that deed in accordance with the Book of Allah and the authentic Sunnah of His Messenger (SAAW).
If one of these conditions are not meet, that person's deed will not benefit him/her in the least. Of course, absence of knowledge is always an exception (eg. a person may make Wudhu but does not know the specific parts of the body that are to be washed; thus, he/she washes those parts which he/she thinks to be significant. His/her Wudhu was not done in accordance with the Book and the Sunnah; however, he/she did not know the way to make Wudhu according to the Book and the Sunnah; hence, their Wudhu would be accepted for a and b were fulfilled, wa Allahu 'alam). These are the conditions which the Salaaf As-Salih (Pious Predecessors) understood with regards to the acceptance and rejection of a deed.
Another implications of the testimony: Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (SAAW).
BELIEF THAT HE (SAAW) WAS SENT TO ALL OF MANKIND AND THE JINN
Verily, Allah, azza wa jall, has said in the Qur'an (what means): "Say (O Muhammad SAAW): O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah - to Whom belongs the dominion of the Heavens and the Earth. La illaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger (SAAW), the Prophet who can neither read nor write, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided." [Al-A'raf: 158].
The prophet (SAAW) said (what means): "And the Prophets were formerly sent to their people only, whereas I have been sent to all mankind." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Therefore, recognizing that he (SAAW) was sent as a mercy to all of mankind will, Inshallah, help kindle the proper love for him which will be manifested through obedience to his rulings.
FINALITY OF HIS PROPHETHOOD
Indeed, there is no Messenger/Prophet after Muhammd ibnu 'Abd Allah (SAAW) as Allah, Ta 'Ala, says in His Book (what means):
"Muhammad (SAAW) is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah, and the last (end) of the Prophets. Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything." [Al-Ahzab: 40].
The Prophet (SAAW) has said (what means): "And the line of the Prophets is closed with me." [Muslim].
Believing that Muhammad (SAAW) is the final Messenger of Allah confirms Allah's statement (what means): "...This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion..." [Al-Ma'idah:3 (in part)]. Thus, if Islam were not a complete way of life, then this religion would need to be constantly updated. In order to update this religion, there would have to be another Prophet after Muhammad (SAAW). However, this is not so as Allah completed this Diyn and it can never be changed from its true form.
BELIEVING THAT HE (SAAW) HAS BEEN GIVEN TWO (2) RELELATIONS
Al-Hamdulilah, Allah, azza wa jall, has give the Prophet (SAAW) two revelations as understood by the Minhaj of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Juma'ah. These are, of course, the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah. Allah confirms this with His saying (what means):
"Nor does he (Muhammad SAAW) speak of his own desire. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired." [An-Najm: 3-4].
"Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad SAAW) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the Qur'an), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing them (in) the Book (the Qur'an) and Al-Hikmah (the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet SAAW - i.e. his legal ways, statements, actions, etc.), while before that they had been in manifest error." [Al-'Imran: 164].
The Prophet (SAAW) has also said (what means): "I have, indeed, been given the Qur'an and something like it along with it (i.e. his Sunnah)." [Abu Dawud].
Thus, there is no mere choice between following the Sunnah and not following it. It has been sent down as part of revelation; thus, it must be adhered to in full. It is adhered to the way the Prophet (SAAW) explained it and the way the Sahabah understood it. Allah confirms this with His saying (what means):
"We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by the permission of Allah."
"Obey Allah, and the Messenger (SAAW). But if they turn away (then know), that Allah loves not the infidels." [Al-'Imran: 31-32].
THE PROPHET HAS RIGHTS UPON HIS FOLLOWERS
These rights are: 1. We believe in what the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) has said. 2. We obey him in what has been commanded and forsake what he has forbidden or discouraged. 3. We worship Allah according to the Shar'iah of His Messenger (SAAW), not by whims and Bid'ah (innovations). 4. We judge ourselves by the Shar'iah of Prophet Muhammad (SAAW), and not by any other law. 5. We love Allah's Messenger (SAAW) more than our parents, children, all of mankind, indeed our very selves.
Allah has confirmed the above with His statement (what means):
"Say (to them O Muhammad SAAW): If you love Allah, follow me, and Allah will love you, and forgive you your sins; Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful. Say: Obey Allah, and the Messenger (SAAW), but if they turn away (then know), that Allah loves not the infidels." [Al-'Imran: 31-32].
"And let those who oppose his (Muhammad's SAAW) command beware, lest a trail befall them (that will lead them to Kuffur) or a painful punishment be inflicted on them." [An-Nur: 63].
"You have indeed a good example in the Messenger of Allah (SAAW) for whosoever hopes for Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much." [Al-Ahzab: 21].
"It is not for any believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger (SAAW) have decreed a matter, to have the choice in their affair. And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger (SAAW) he has gone astray into manifest error." [Al-Ahzab: 36].
"But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad SAAW) judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against your decisions, but accept (them) fully with submission." [An-Nisa: 65].
Thus, we see in this last Ayah that Allah negates that a person can have Imaan unless that person makes the Prophet (SAAW) judge in *all* affairs and that we accept his (SAAW) decisions with submission. This Ayah is indeed serious as Allah swears to this negation with His saying (what means), "But no, by your Lord...".
The Prophet (SAAW) stressed the importance of obeying and following his Sunnah with his saying (what means):
"All of my people will enter Jennah except those who refuse." When asked about those who refuse, he said: "He who obeys me will enter Jennah, while he who disobeys me has refused." [Al-Bukhari].
He (SAAW) also said (what means): "If anyone introduces into this affair of ours anything which does not belong to it, it is rejected." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
And: "None of you believes untill I am dearer to him than his father, his child, and all of mankind." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
And: "There are qualities for which anyone who is characterized by them will experiece the sweetness of Imaan: he to whom Allah and His Messenger (SAAW) are dearer than all else; he who loves a human being for Allah's Sake alone; and who has as great an abhorrence of returning to Kuffur (disbelief) after Allah has rescued him from it as he has being cast into the Hell Fire." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Although the Prophet (SAAW) is the best of examples and following his Sunnah is obligatory, we must remember that it is not right to overpraise him (SAAW) as he was not divine, but a man. Some deviant sects of Islam direct their 'Ibaadah to the Prophet (SAAW); however, this is Shirk Al-Akbar (association in the highest degree) which will not be forgiven unless that person makes sincere Tawbah before his/her death.
A MAN AND NOT DIVINE
Allah says (what means):
"Say (O Muhammad SAAW): I am only a man like you: it is revealed to me that your God is One God: So, let him who hopes for the meeting with his Lord, do righteousness, and not associate anything in the worship of hsi Lord." [Al-Kahf: 111].
The Prophet (SAAW) said (what means): "Do not overpraise me as the Christians overpraised the son of Mary (i.e. 'Isa AS). I am His slave, so say: Allah's slave and Messenger." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
SENDING SALAAT AND SALAAM UPON THE NABEE (SAAW)
This is an action which the believer are commanded to do as Allah says in the Qur'an (what means):
"Indeed, Allah and His angels send Salaat (i.e. Allah mentions the Prophet's SAAW name in the presence of the angels) upon the Prophet (SAAW). O you who believe! Send your Salaat and your Salaam upon him (ie. by saying Salla Allahu 'alaihi wa sallam, etc.)." [Al-Ahzab: 56].

Islamic Articles, - Who Wrote the Quran ?

ShareShare
Editor's Note: The English in this article is not perfect. There are many grammatical and syntax errors. However, I felt that the content was compelling and interesting enough that it deserves to be included here.
The Quran, in Arabic, could only have been written by ONE of 3 possible sources:
1 the Arabs
2 Mohammad (peace be upon him)
3 Allah (GOD)
(NOTE: The first part is not meant to be a rigorous proof. It is something to ponder upon. However, the second part, about Mohammad [pbuh] wrote it' contains more extensive proof.)
Besides the above mentioned sources, Quran couldn't possibly have been written by ANYONE else.
No other source is possible, because Quran is written in pure, rich, and poetic Arabic, which was not known to anyone other than the above mentioned sources, at that time. The Arabic language was at its peak in expression, richness, vocabulary, artistic, and poetic value during the time the Quran was being revealed. Anyone speaking the classical Arabic ( the Arabic of Quran at the time it was revealed) would argue that a non-Arab entity couldn't possibly have written such an extensive and brilliant piece of literature in the Arabic language. Quran could only have been written by an Arabic speaking entity. An entity, who's knowledge, style, vocabulary, grammar, and way of expression was so powerful that it impacted the entire Arabian peninsula, the east, the west, and continues to impact people all over the globe today!
At no other time, in the history of Arabic language, had it ever achieved its peak in expression, literature, and development, than the time of Arabia during the 6th Century, the time when Quran was being revealed. At no other time in the history of Arabic language had the language ever achieved its highest potential than the time of Arabia during the 6th Century, the time when Quran was being revealed. The language reached its peak in richness, artistic value, and poetry, during that time. With the Arabic language at its peak, and the best of Arabic writers, poets present in Arabia, it is impossible that a non-Arabic speaking entity would write a book like Quran and have such a dynamite impact on the Arabs!
So only an Arabic speaking entity could have write Quran. With that in mind, we're left with three choies:
1 - the Arabs wrote it
2 - Mohammad (pbuh) wrote it
3 - Allah (swt) wrote it
Lets examine the three choices one by one.
(1) Arabs Wrote it ? ---------------------
What Quran teaches goes DIRECTLY against the pagan Arab culture, religion, and gods, that existed before the Quran was revealed. Quran condemns idol worshipping, but the Arabs, loved their idol gods, and worshipped them regularly. Quran raised the status of women; the Arabs treated women next to animals. The Arabs would never write something that goes against their most important belief of idol worshipping. Quran goes against most of the social habbits (such as backbiting, slandering, name calling, etc) which the Arabs were heavily indulged into. For example, the Arabs would call insulting nicknames such as Abu Jahal (the father of ignorance). Quran condemns and prohibits taking interest on money, whereas, the Arabs freely levied heavy interest rates in loans and businesses. Quran condemns and prohibits Alcohol drinking, whereas, the Arabs consumed alcohol freely. The Quran condemns and prohibits gambling, whereas, the Arabs were some of the worst gamblers. The Arabs would never write something so comprehensively against just about all of their customs and culture and religious beliefs, as the Quran is.
During the time of the Holy Prophet (pbuh), the Arabs would indulge in all the social habbits that the Quran condemns and prohibits. How can Arabs then write something that would negate their entire society's norms and ideologies ?
Did a group of Arabs or an individual Arab write Quran? Perhaps a rebel Arab beduoin, or a society's misfit, or someone with different ideals and norms decided one day to write Quran? The answer to those questions are also 'no'. Because, if we read Quran, we notice that there is no author ! No individual has his/her name written on the cover of Quran! Anytime an individual writes a book, he/she writes his/her name on the cover. The author's name always appears on his/her book, and there is always an author who is credited for writing that book. No one in the history of the world has EVER claimed to have written the Quran, nor anyone's name ever appeared in front of the Quran as bein the 'author'. This is the only book in the world without an author. No one in the world has ever been accused of writing the Holy Quran, except the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), by non-muslims.
Quran has no author, and no group or individual in Arabia ever claimed to have written it, nor any group or an indvidual recited, taught, and explained Quran except the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and his followers. The Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was the only Arabian who first practiced, explained, and preached Quran, and ended up making a lot of Arab tribes enemies. Any historian, Muslim or non-Muslim would argue that the only possible source of Quran can be the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), the man responsible to recite it, teach it, and expalin it to the people of Arabia. In fact, many historians today still think that only Mohammad (pbuh) could possibly have written it.
This leads one to conclude that the Prophet (pbuh) must have written it!
(2) Mohammad (pbuh) wrote it ? ------------------------------
First, he was illiterate !! How can an illiterate person come up with such a rich, poetic, intellectual, and inspiring text that it rocked the entire Arabia ?
Mohammad (pbuh) never went to school ! No one taught him. He had no teacher of any kind in any subjects. How can he have the knowledge of all the science, astronomy, oceanography, etc that is contained in the Quran ? ( For example, the mention of ocean currents, stars, earth, moon, sun and their fixed paths in Soorah Rahman; and many other scientific statements that are found in Quran, that I cannot state in this short article)
When Quran was revealed, the Arabic language was at its peak in richness, poetic value, literature, etc. Quran came and challenged the best literature in Arabic, the best poetry in Arabic of the time. Mohammad (pbuh) being illiterate couldnt possibly have come up with something so immaculate that it even exceded the best of poetry, and literature in Arabic at the time of the language's PEAK development. Arabic language had never been so rich in expression, poetic value, vocabulary, and variety in literature, as it was in the time of Quran. At a time like this, Quran came and exceeded the best of Arabic in all aspects of the language: poetry, literature, expression, etc. Any classical Arabic speaker would appreciate the unbeatten, unchallenged, and unmatched beauty of the language of Quran.
An illiterate man is simply not capable of writing such a book.
Mohammad (pbuh) had no reason to come up with something like Quran, and cause the entire society of Arabia to become his enemy. Why would he do something like that? Why would he write something going against almost all of the norms of the society, and lose his family, relatives, friends, and other loved ones , and not to mention all the wealth he lost ?
Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years ! A very long time! Is it possible for someone to maintain the same exact style of Arabic speech , as demonstrated in Quran, for over 23 years ?
Also, what the prophet Mohammad (saaw) used to say is recorded in what we call his hadeeth (sunnah). If we look at the Arabic style of the hadeeth, and compare it with the style of Quran, we can clearly see that they are clearly DIFFERENT, and DISTINGUISHABLE Arabic styles. The prophet (saaw) spoke in public. It does not make sense that a man has two UNIQUE, Distinguishable, and completely different styles of speech in public. Yet another reason why Mohammad (saaw) couldn't possibly have written Quran.
Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years ! A very long time! Is it possible for someone to maintain the same exact style of Arabic speech , as demonstrated in Quran over 23 years ?
Here's what our famous Muslim Scholar, Ahmad Deedat said:
[From Ahmed Deedat]
WAS QURAN WRITTEN OR INSPIRED? ------------------------------
"Behold! The angels said: "O Mary! God has chosen you and purified you - Chosen you above the women of all nations." Qur'an-3:42
THE SOURCE OF HIS MESSAGE
"Chosen you above the women of all nations." Such an honour is not to be found given to Mary even in the Christian Bible! ........... Knowing full-well, and believing as we do, that the whole Quran is the veritable Word of God, we will nevertheless agree, for the sake of argument, with the enemies of Muhammed (pbuh) for a moment, that he wrote it. We can now expect some cooperation from the unbeliever.
Ask him, "Have you any qualms in agreeing that Muhammed (pbuh) was an Arab?" Only an opinionated fool will hesitate to agree. In that case there is no sense in pursuing any discussion. Cut short the talk. Close the book!
With the man of reason, we proceed. "That this Arab, in the first instance, was addressing other Arabs. He was not talking to Indian Muslims, Chinese Muslims, or Nigerian Muslims. He was addressing his own people - the Arabs. Whether they agreed with him or not, he told them in the most sublime form - words that were seared into the hearts and minds of his listeners that Mary the mother of Jesus -A JEWESS- was chosen above the women of all nations. Not his own mother, nor his wife nor his daughter, nor any other Arab woman, but a Jewess! Can one explain this? Because to everyone his own mother or wife, or daughter would come before other women.
Why would the Prophet of Islam honour a woman from his opposition! and a Jewess at that! belonging to a race which had been looking down upon his people for three thousand years? Just as they still look down upon their Arab brethren today.
SARAH AND HAGAR
The Jews get their cock-eyed racism from their Holy Bible, where they are told their father, Abraham, had two wives -Sarah and Hagar. They say that they are the children of Abraham through Sarah, his legitimate wife; that their Arab brethren have descended through Hagar, a "bondwoman", and that as such, the Arabs are inferior breed.
Will anyone please explain the anomaly as to why Muhammed (pbuh) (if he is the author) chose this Jewess for such honour? The answer is simple - HE HAD NO CHOICE - he had no right to speak of his own desire. "IT IS NO LESS THAN AN INSPIRATION SENT DOWN TO HIM." (Qur'an, 53:4).
SURA MARYAM
There is a Chapter in the Holy Quran, named Sura Maryam "Chapter Mary" (XIX) named in honour of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ (pbuh); again, such an honour is not to be found given to Mary in the Christian Bible. Out of the 66 books of the Protestants and 73 of the Roman Catholics, not one is named after Mary or her son. You will find books named after Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, Paul and two score more obscure names, but not a single one is that of Jesus or Mary!
If Muhammed (pbuh) was the author of the Holy Quran, then he would not have failed to include in it with MARYAM, the mother of Jesus, his own mother - AMINA, his dear wife - KHADIJA, or his beloved daughter - FATIMA. But No! No! this can never be. The Quran is not his handiwork!
Another Muslim writes:
-----------------------------------------------FORWARDED ARTICLE---
From: Abu Abdullah; Subject: Re: Mohammad Wrote the Quran ?? [KORAN] Date: Sat, 05 Aug 95 12:44:14 EDT --------------------------------------------------------
I was reading about the charge that the prophet, Mohammed (pbuh), has written the Quran himself. Before you go any further in reading this post, please ask yourself whether you are a honest truth seeker or just another argumentative person, if the former, continue, otherwise, save your time and jump to the next post.
Islam is based on faith that is supported by a number of strong miracles such as knowing what events to take place ahead of time or coming up with supernatural deeds in front of people. The holy Quran has these signs and much more. First, The holy Quran predicted many events to take place ahead of the time of the revelation of that verse; for example, predicting the destruction of Persian empire at a time where the later had a monumental victory over Rome. If the prophet, as some people claim, has written the Quran, then he would have put his future in real jeopardy (50% chance) since neither satellite photos nor on-ground intelligence personnel were available to him at the revelation time. Further, numerous details about many natural phenomena were detailed in the Quran and, until recently, they were proven by experts to be amazingly accurate. For example of the physical development of the fetus inside the womb along with timing given by many verses matches exactly what leading authorities in Embryology are claiming to be recent discoveries. Moreover, verses that gives descriptions about the creation of the universe and the function of mountains in balancing earth and many other descriptions/explanations are available to be read and to be understood. If the prophet was the author, wouldn't he be prone to make weak inferences similar to those who claim that earth is square and whoever says otherwise should be killed?
The prophet also has demonstrated many supernatural miracles not by his own power, but by the power of the creator. He went to Jerasalem back in one night and gave a detailed description of the carnival that was traveling on that route and also specific accedint happend to them at that noght (in those days, it takes a month or so for a round-trip). In another ocasion, he provided water for an entire army from a small plate between his hands. There are many other miracles that require serious truth seeker to read about and to think about it.
From the above, it reasonable to conclude that the Quran is not the PROPHET CREATION. HE HAD NO WAY TO PREDICT ALL THESE EVENTS AND TO BE RIGHT ALL THE TIME, ESPECIALLY WHEN KNOWING THAT THE PROPHET HIMSELFE WAS ILLITERATE !!! -----------------------------end-forwarded-article---

"The Developing Human. Clinically Oriented Embryology" K.L. Moore
5th Edition, Philadelphia, W.B. Saunders Co. (1982) ISBN 07216 4662-X $33.95
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The work by Prof. Keith Moore is probably the most detailed study of the subject. Prof. Keith Moore is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anatomy, University of Toronto.
His books on anatomy and on embryology are used at many medical school as standard instruction books. The Yale Medical school uses both his books. The Yale Bookstore phone number for Medical books is: (203) 772-2081. Their general information number is (203) 432-4771. (New Haven, Connecticut)
He is *the* authority on embryology. I strongly recommend the latest edition of the latter book as it mentions how accurately the Qur'an describes embryo development.
Prof. Moore has said:
"It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Qur'an about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammed from God or Allah because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Mohammed must have been a messenger of God or Allah."
Prof. Marshal Johnson, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anatomy and Director of the Daniel Baugh Institute, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia
He says:
"The Qur'an describes not only the development of external form but emphasizes also the internal stages -- the stages inside the embryo of its creation and development, emphasizing major events recognized by contemporary science.... If I were to transpose myself into that era, knowing what I know today and describing things, I could not describe the things that were described. I see no evidence to refute the concept that this individual Mohammed had to be developing this information from some place, so I see nothing in conflict with the concept that Divine Intervention was involved...."

Personal, - Fasting & diabetics

ShareShare

A diabetic patient receives the month ofRamadandifferently from others, because his feeding and health system during this month is different from that at any other time of the year. He must adhere to certain dosages of medication at specific times and must only eat certain types of food.
With the advent of this month, the changes he faces are manifested in many ways, such as his having to refrain from eating and drinking for long hours, the number of meals he consumes being reduced, and his daily activities changing. Therefore, a diabetic person must be mindful of these changes and their impact on him.
Some advice to diabetic people:There are two types of diabetic patients:
1.Those who must take insulin injections:They are of two categories:
Those who are allowed to fast:These are patients who only need one shot daily, half an hour before the meal. They can take this shot immediately at sunset and break their fast half an hour later. However, they are advised to consult their doctors frequently in the first few days at the beginning of the month in order for him to decide the adequate dosage of insulin that suits their case and the nature of their work. These people are also advised to check their level of blood sugar regularly to avoid any sudden drop in it.
Those who are not allowed to fast:These are people who need to take two or more dosages of insulin daily, in addition to them suffering from other diseases, like heart disease, for example. They must consult their doctors to find out if they are able to fast or not.
2.Those who are not required to take insulin injections:These are of a less severe category than the first type of diabetic patients, and who only consume pills to stimulate the pancreas in order to provide enough insulin to suffice the body and thus enable the person to act energetically. It is beneficial for this type of people to fast, unless they are required to take such pills throughout the day. They are advised to take one pill at the time they break their fast and another when having the predawn meal )Suhoor(. There are other people who only require one pill a day, which they can take when breaking their fast.
There are other types of diabetic people whom we have not addressed, like those who are less than twenty years of age, pregnant diabetic women or those who have heart problems besides being diabetic. All these people are required to consult their physicians to decide whether or not they are medically allowed to fast.
Final remarks:
Diabetic people must consult their doctors before the advent of the month to decide whether they are in a situation that permits them to fast or not.
Diabetic people must consult their doctors before the advent of the month to get the proper dosages they need during the month )if they are permitted to fast(.
They should avoid exhausting themselves while fasting, especially during the last two hours of the day, as this is the time when the blood sugar level is most likely to drop.
They should get in the habit of delaying theSuhoorto as close toFajr)dawn( as possible.
They should always remember that being diabetic is a test from Allaah and is something that He has decreed upon them. Thus they should be patient and content with what Allaah has decreed in order to attain the best reward.

Personal, - Breastfeeding Is necessary for both mother and child

ShareShare
Allaah the Almighty has bestowed countless blessings on Man. One such great and indispensable blessing is the mother’s milk. It is a great blessing, especially for newborn babies. Undoubtedly, breastfeeding is the best and most beneficial and effective method of nutrition. Additionally, it satisfies both the baby’s psychological and emotional needs, as well as his physical needs.
Unequivocally, breast milk is the indispensable and ideal food for newborns in all cases. A baby does not need any other food during his first five months. Despite the huge progress in the field of manufactured baby food, no alternative food has been discovered to be equal to mother’s milk in terms of its psychological, emotional and nutritional benefits. The advantages of mother’s milk are as follows:
1-It is a clean and safe food that a baby can get easily.
2-It satisfies all the nutritious needs of a baby during the early months of his life.
3-It contains natural protection against bacteria and provides a baby with immense protection and immunity.
4-It is easily digested and quickly assimilated, whether in full-term or premature babies.
5-It deepens the emotional bond between a mother and her child due to the psychological relationship established by the nursing process.
6-Suckling helps strengthen the baby’s jaws and accelerates the appearance of teeth.
7-A mother’s milk protects her child from obesity later in life.
8-It prevents malnutrition and many health problems.
9-It includes biochemical elements that provide the baby with immunity to many diseases.
10-It helps to create reasonable periods between the birth of one baby and the next because the possibility of pregnancy decreases during the period of nursing.
11-Mother’s milk is economical and alleviates the economic burden on the family and society.
12-Children who are breastfed do not fall prey to excessive allergies.
13-Breastfeeding protects mothers against the dangers of breast cancer.
14-Breastfeeding contributes to protecting the mother from obesity and helps her to restore her shape.
15-It protects children from severe colon inflammation.
16-Babies who are breastfed are less vulnerable to serious disorders during the first month.
Psychologists have proved that it is very important for babies to start breastfeeding immediately after birth as this helps the baby lead a peaceful and stable psychological and emotional life. Additionally, physical contact between the baby and his mother is very important in creating emotional ties between them. These ties provide a child with a feeling of both psychological security and physical comfort, and helps him grow naturally and correctly.
Obviously, many of the psychological barriers, cases of emotional deprivation, and family breakdowns that are rampant in the West are due to the lack of emotional and psychological relationships between children and their mothers during their early days because mothers do not breastfeed their babies. Also, the complicated materialistic way of life imposed by western civilization on women encourages them to deprive their babies from being breastfed. Moreover, the belief that natural nursing affects women’s health and beauty has caused mothers to neglect breastfeeding their babies.
There are other factors that have also contributed to this problem in developing countries. These factors include changes in the mothers’ lifestyle, the spread of ignorance and misconceptions and imitation of the west, as well as mothers’ work outside the home. Also, we should not forget that there are other factors which have aggravated these problems such as the selfishness of some women and the use of formula milk instead of breast-milk as well as a lack of incentives that encourage breastfeeding.
Using formula milk is a dangerous and expensive process and results in countless problems. In other words, it is a dangerous behavior that threatens poor families and subjects babies to the danger of food contamination and excessive milk adulteration with water. Thus, it is important for a mother not to deprive her child from his right to be nursed naturally as long as she is healthy. If we think carefully about the dangers of using alternatives to mother’s milk, the whole situation would change. Additionally, depending on formula milk exposes societies to the danger of disintegration and subjects our children to dangerous diseases.
Therefore, what a great and noble mission Allaah The Almighty has bestowed on mothers, taking care of an innocent and helpless baby by nursing him and feeding him with love and compassion along with her own milk. Indeed, it is a Divine gift bestowed by Allaah The Exalted on mothers before it is bestowed upon their babies. Breastfeeding not only benefits the baby, but it also, first and foremost, satisfies the emotional and physical needs of women. The need of a mother to breastfeed her baby makes her play a positive and effective role in the stability of the society and the upbringing of the future generation.

Personal, - Advice to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers

ShareShare
Allaah has mandated fasting for every post-pubescent person who is physically fit to fast and has promised an abundant reward in return. He has, however, relieved those with sound excuses and exempted them from fasting, permitting them to break their fast until the reason for which they have been exempted is gone. However, He obliged them to make up for these missed days; Allaah Says )what means(:}The month of Ramadan ]is that[ in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights ]the new moon of[ the month, must fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allaah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship …{]Quran: 2:185[
Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are examples of such people whom Allaah has exempted from fasting. The following is some general health advice that would help such mothers with the approach of the month ofRamadan:
1.You must consult your doctor to decide whether or not you are able to fast during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. She will check you and assess the case accordingly.
2.If a pregnant or breastfeeding mother fears harm upon herself because of fasting, then it her religious right to break the fast.
3.A pregnant woman who may face problems if she fasts must have a well balanced meal at the time of breaking her fast. Her meal must include starches that supply the body with the required calories, like rice, bread or pasta. A pregnant woman usually needs around 2250 calories daily, and these calories must come from food sources that are rich in vitamins and minerals, such as iron and calcium. We also advise her to drink a large glass of fruit juice immediately after breaking her fast. She should stay away from meals that are difficult to digest, like deep fried foods, as this may cause indigestion. Moreover, she must avoid overeating because this may cause difficulty in breathing.
4.Any pregnant woman who suffers from complications during pregnancy, like high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney infections or heart problems must refrain from fasting because her health situation does not permit her to fast, as these complications risk the health of the fetus.
5.If a pregnant woman fasts, then she must take a good share of rest during the daytime.
6.If a pregnant woman fasts, then we advise her to eat a light meal betweenIftaar)the meal at sunset( andSuhoor)the predawn meal(.
7.A pregnant woman must consult her doctor before she fasts to decide whether or not she is physically able to fast. This is so because in the first months of pregnancy she must eat balanced meals which the fetus needs in order to grow normally, otherwise, she may endanger its health as well as hers.
8.A pregnant woman who intends to fast - and whose fasting will coincide with the last months of pregnancy - must be careful as this period is more critical than the first few months, unless her pregnancy has been normal throughout the first period. If a pregnant woman needs to exert more effort than usual to care for her children or take care of her house, for example, and this exhausts her and makes her thirsty and hungry, then it would be better for her not to fast. Otherwise, if these things do not cause any abnormal physical stress, then she can fast.

Dought & clear, - (Manners of Seeking Knowledge), - Reasons why a person who has recently become righteous may backslide, and guidance for one who wants to seek knowledge

ShareShare

I am looking for advice for someone who has recently become committed; what should he do so that he will not backslide? And I am looking for advice on what books one should start reading after the Qur’aan.
Praise be to Allaah.
Allaah rejoices over the repentance of His slave even though He is the One Who helps this penitent to repent, and He is not harmed by people’s sins, no matter how many they are. This is due to His great mercy towards His creation, and His great bounty. What we advise our brothers who are adhering to guidance and seeking to do good is:
1 – Praise Allaah and thank Him with sincerity for having guided them to the path of Paradise. They should understand that were it not for Allaah, they would not have been guided or prayed. As well as praising and thanking Allaah, they also need to pray to Allaah to make them steadfast in adhering to Islam and truth, for hearts are in the hand of Allaah and He turns them as He wills. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say in his du’aa’:Yaa muqallib al-quloob thabbit qalbi ala deenaka, Yaa musarrif al-quloob, asrif qalbi ila taa’atika(O Controller of the hearts, make my heart adhere firmly to Your religion, O Director of the hearts, direct my heart to obey You). And we are in greater need of this du’aa’ than him, (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
2 – Adhering to obedience of Allaah by doing obligatory duties and being keen to do more in order to draw closer to Allaah after doing the obligatory duties, by doing sunnahs, so as to attain the love of Allaah, for whomever Allaah loves, He will make him steadfast in following the path and will increase him in guidance.
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (6137).
3 – Seeking the pleasure of Allaah and longing to meet Him, and not being distracted by this world or by its permissible things or pleasures. This righteous person’s motive to obey Allaah should be sublime and not worldly, and his aim should be to attain eternal happiness in an abode where no one grows old or falls sick, which is Paradise.
4 – He should seek knowledge, starting with memorization of the Book of Allaah, then studying the Sunnah and reading books of salafi ‘aqeedah, Tawheed and fiqh, because the more a Muslim learns his religion, the more firmly he will adhere to it, and one of the greatest causes of backsliding and falling from the path is ignorance and lack of knowledge of Islam.
5 – He should be keen to find righteous companions and give up bad companions, especially those who were with him on his path of negligence before, lest they be a cause of him going back to his old ways. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) likened a good friend to the carrier of musk, for he will either give you some or you will notice a good smell from him; and he likened the bad friend to the one who works the bellows, for he will either burn your clothes or you will notice a bad smell from him. This is how it is with good friends and bad friends. The former will either guide you towards what is good, or you will see good in him and his attitude and behaviour, but the bad friend will either guide you towards sin and you will do it, or he will do it himself and you will not see anything from him but evil and encouragement to commit evil actions. So you should be keen to seek good company and avoid bad company.
6 – Beware of sins, both minor and major, for most fires start due to minor causes and one sin leads to another. If the heart is darkened and blackened because of sin, it will no longer be a heart that is alive and recognizes good as good and evil as evil. So beware, beware of sin. It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Beware of trivial sins, for they will accumulate until they destroy a man.” And the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave an example, likening them to people who stopped to camp in the wilderness, and they wanted to prepare some food, so one man went and brought a stick, and another man brought a stick, until they had gathered a huge pile and lit a fire, and whatever they put in the pot was cooked as a result.
Narrated by Ahmad (37/467); classed as hasan by Shu’aub al-Arna’oot and as saheeh by al-Albaani.
7 – Beware of the fitnah (temptation) of wealth. The one whom Allaah has blessed with wealth should use that wealth to help him obey Allaah and spend it in ways that please Allaah, such as building mosques, printing books, recording tapes and distributing pamphlets. He should be keen to perform Hajj and ‘umrah, and beware of going to extremes with regard to permissible things or spending it on haraam things, for wealth may be a cause of a person being tempted away from his religious commitment. Allaah indeed spoke the truth when He said (interpretation of the meaning):
“Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allaah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise)”
[al-Taghaabun 64:15]
8 – The one who has been guided must fill his heart with faith, for if the heart is sound the whole body will be sound, but if it is corrupt the whole body will be corrupt. So he should strive to read Qur’aan and do a lot of acts of worship.
9 – One of the reasons why a person backslides may be that he does not have a wife, so he should be keen to get married and form a family, and he should be keen to discipline them and teach them. Being single may be a cause of falling into sin, thinking of desires, staying up late at night a great deal, not living a serious life and being content with a life of relaxation and laziness.
10 – Finally, the one who has been recently guided needs to be moderate in performing acts of worship and be wise in calling people to Islam, for some of those whom Allaah guides to the path of truth make it hard on themselves with regard to doing acts of worship, and they are hard on others when they call them and remind them. Perhaps this is a reason why they backslide. So he should be keen to be moderate and wise and gentle, and he should strive to consult people of knowledge and seek their advice, for there is a great deal of good in that for him.
It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every deed has a period of enthusiasm, and every period of enthusiasm is followed by a slackening off. If a person’s enthusiasm is for my Sunnah, then he has succeeded, but whoever chooses something else when he slackens off is doomed.”
Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan in hisSaheeh(1/187); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani inSaheeh al-Targheeb, 56.
See the commentary on this hadeeth and more details on this point in the answer to question no. 70314.
We ask Allaah to make us steadfast in adhering to the truth and to make us sincere in word and deed.
Secondly:
With regard to the seeker of knowledge who is just beginning, it is essential to give him advice with regard to the pursuit of knowledge so that he will be rewarded for his seeking and so that it will not be a burden on him.
1. Be sincere in your intention to seek knowledge. Remember that seeking knowledge is an act of worship and that Allaah does not accept any act of worship but that which is done sincerely for His sake. So do not seek knowledge for the sake of fame, status, wealth, arguing with fools or debating with scholars, rather seek it sincerely for the sake of Allaah, in obedience to the command of Allaah and so as to remove ignorance from yourself and others.
2. Be patient in seeking knowledge and do not be hasty, for the path is long and hard, and “whoever works hard at the beginning will reach his target.”
3. Act upon what you learn, for knowledge calls for action, but if it meets with no response, it will move on.
4. Start with easy issues of knowledge before difficult ones. Do not start withFath al-Baarioral-Majmoo’oral-Muhalla, rather start with small texts until you are ready for the big ones.
5. Strive to study with a Shaykh whose religious commitment and knowledge can be trusted; if that is not possible then study with a seeker of knowledge who is ahead of you on the path.
6. Use a variety of methods of seeking knowledge so that you will not get bored, such as reading, listening and watching.
7. Try to acquire books with commentaries by trustworthy scholars.
8. Do not start with controversial books before you have mastered the basics of evidence from the Qur’aan and saheeh Sunnah.
9. Be humble towards Allaah and beware of two dangers: arrogance, and destructive envy (hasad). The salaf would listen to those who were older than them in order to learn good manners, and they would listen to those who were younger than them in order to learn humility, and those who were like them in order to remove the disease of envy from their hearts.
10. Do not be in a hurry to issue fatwas, and strive to (study hard, summarize what you have read and write down new ideas you learn so that you can revise them; strive to teach the ignorant things that will benefit them. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“and spend out of what we have provided for them” [al-Baqarah 2:3].
See also the answer to question no. 10324for information on the etiquette of seeking knowledge.
Thirdly:
With regard to the books with which one should start after reading the Book of Allaah and which one should try to memorize, there are many. We have mentioned the most important of trustworthy books and what is appropriate at every stage of seeking knowledge, in the answers to question no. 14082and 20191.
We should also point out that on our site under the heading ofKnowledge and Da’wah/ Knowledgethere are many answers from which the seeker of knowledge may learn about etiquette, rulings and advice.
We ask Allaah to guide you always and to make it easy for you to acquire beneficial knowledge and do righteous deeds, for the one whom Allaah guides is truly guided and the one whom He sends astray can never be guided.
And Allaah knows best.

Dought & clear, - (Manners of Seeking Knowledge), - He found out that his Shaykh deals with jinn

ShareShare
A young man is studying with a sheikh who deals with jinn in order to treat the possessed people and those suffering from spells. This young man knew about this recently. Should he stop learning from this sheikh and leave the place? Bearing in mind that he has only few months left to complete his Qura’anic studies with him. What is the ruling on seeking knowledge through this sheikh and what is the ruling on the alms given to this student by his sheikh?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
Dealing with the jinn is a serious issue, and is a door that leads to evil and mischief; how often have people are affected by this evil? It is sufficient for you to know that shirk only came to mankind through them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, telling us how Allaah taught His slaves: “ ‘I have created all My slaves with the inclination to worship Me alone, but the devils come to them and turn them away from their religion. They forbid to them that which I have permitted to them, and they tell them to associate others with Me for which I have not sent down any authority.’” Narrated by Muslim (2865).
There are believers and Muslims among the jinn, and also kaafirs and evildoers. But the fact that they are concealed from man means that we cannot be sure about any one of them, and gives us cause for concern about their tricks and treachery, especially with the spread of ignorance and bid’ah (innovation), which is the harbinger of shirk. Usually these creatures make man fall into that which is haraam, and bring only a little benefit.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression”
[al-Jinn 72:6]
Hence the fatwas of the scholars state that it is haraam to deal with the jinn at all – whether with the believers or the kaafirs among them – and it is essential not to take this matter lightly, so as to close the door to fitnah and confusion, and out of concern for those who have faith in Allaah.
It says inal-Insaafby al-Mardaawi (10/351):
“As for the one who claims to have power over the jinn and claims that he can summon them and they obey him, he should not be denounced as a kaafir or executed, but he should be given a ta’zeer punishment.” He should be given a severe ta’zeer punishment that should not reach the extent of execution, according to the correct view of our madhhab; and it was said that his ta’zeer punishment may reach the extent of execution. End quote.
It says inal-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah(14/18):
As for seeking help from anyone other than Allaah, it is either from humans or from the jinn. If it is seeking help from the jinn, then this is forbidden and it may be shirk and kufr.“And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression” [al-Jinn 72:6].
Shaykh al-Albaani said inal-Silsilah al-Saheehah(hadeeth no. 2760):
This also includes some who appear outwardly to be righteous treating people by means of that which they call “spiritual medicine (al-tibb al-roohaani)”, whether that is in the ancient manner by contacting his qareen or jinn companion – as they used to do during the Jaahiliyyah – or it is done by means of what they call “summoning the spirits”. Similar to that in my opinion is hypnotism. All of these are means that are not acceptable in sharee’ah, because they all boil down to seeking the help of the jinn who were the cause of the mushrikeen going astray as it says in the Holy Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression”
[al-Jinn 72:6]
The claims of some of those who seek their help, that they only seek the help of the righteous among them, are false claims, because they usually cannot mix with them and live with them in ways that will show whether they are righteous or not. We know from experience that most of the humans with whom you keep company turn out not to be good friends. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (who may stop you from the obedience of Allaah); therefore beware of them!”
[al-Taghaabun 64:14]
This has to do with people who can be seen, so what do you think about the jinn, concerning whom Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, he [Shaytaan] and Qabeeluhu (his soldiers from the jinn or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them” [al-A’raaf 7:27]? End quote.
We have previously quoted fatwas from the scholars on this topic, in the answers to the following questions: 10518, 11114and 78546.
Secondly:
The first thing that the seeker of knowledge must do is to choose trustworthy scholars, people who are religiously-committed, trustworthy and pious. He should only acquire knowledge from those who are qualified, and those who are truly qualified are those who have the knowledge and act upon it, by obeying Allaah and adhering to His laws and commands. The teacher has the greatest effect on the student, so he should have the quality of fear of Allaah (taqwa).
It was narrated that Ibraaheem al-Nakha’i said:
When they came to a man to acquire knowledge from him, they would look at his character, his prayer and his situation, then they would take knowledge from him.Al-Jaami’ li Akhlaaq al-Raawi(1/127).
The scholars stated that this is especially important with regard to learning the Qur’aan.
Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said inal-Tibyaan fi Adaab Hamalat al-Qur’aan(p. 13):
It should not be learned except from one who is fully qualified and whose religious commitment is apparent, whose knowledge is proven to be sound and whose piety is well known. Muhammad ibn Sireen, Maalik ibn Anas and others among the salaf said: This knowledge has to do with religion, so look to whom you take your religion from. End quote.
Al-Zarnooji (may Allaah have mercy on him) said inTa’leem al-Muta’allim(p. 7):
He should choose the most knowledgeable, the most pious and the oldest, as Abu Haneefah chose Hammaad ibn Abi Sulaymaan after much thinking and consideration, and he said: I found him to be a patient, forbearing and dignified old man. End quote.
Ibn Jamaa’ah al-Kinaani said in his bookTadhkirah al-Saami’ wa’l-Mutakallim(p. 133):
The seeker of knowledge should look and pray istikhaarah, asking Allaah for guidance concerning the one from whom he will take knowledge and learn good attitude and manners; if possible he should be one who is fully qualified, and is proven to be kind, compassionate and chivalrous, and who is well known for his chastity and piety, and who is well versed and has deep understanding.
The student should not continue to learn when there is a shortcoming in (the teacher’s) piety or religious commitment, or his attitude is not good. It was narrated from one of the salaf: This knowledge has to do with religion, so look to whom you take your religion from.
If you explore the lives of the earlier and later generations, you will find that the student usually only benefits and succeeds if the Shaykh is clearly sincere towards his students.
Even if you look at books, you will find that you will benefit from books authored by those who are more pious and have less interest in worldly gains. End quote.
Thirdly:
Our advice to this seeker of knowledge is to leave this teacher who uses the services of the jinn – if there is certain proof of that – and he should not learn anything from him of knowledge, attitude or religion. That is the most cautious approach, to be on the safe side, if he is able to make up what he has missed and complete his studies with a Shaykh who follows the Sunnah and is righteous.
But if there are no righteous people in his city who can do that for him, then what we think is that he should complete the short time that remains of his studies, if the situation is as described and he only uses the jinn for treating those who are bewitched or sick, and he is not known to practice sihr (witchcraft) or harm the Muslims, or transgress against their wealth or honour. The basic principle according to the scholars is that one may be pardoned for continuing that which one may not be pardoned for starting. Although we would tell a seeker of knowledge not to begin studying with a Shaykh who follows bid’ah, or who is obviously deviant in his knowledge or action, in cases such as this, there is a concession allowing him to continue these studies until he finishes, especially since the remaining time is very short, and especially since he cannot find an alternative teacher in his city who is a righteous follower of the Sunnah.
But what we have said here should also be balanced against the fact that this Shaykh may be following the opinion of those who say that it is permissible to employ the jinn with regard to permissible matters, such as those mentioned in the question; he may be excused for following that (weak) view and in that case we cannot say that he is a follower of bid’ah (innovation) or is misguided.
Although some of Ahl al-Sunnah are of this view, the correct view is that which we mentioned first of all, which is that it is forbidden to employ the services of the jinn at all. But the correct view concerning the issue is one thing, and finding an excuse for those who follow a weaker view is something else.
Fourthly:
Our advice concerning the charity is also to try to do without it, and always look for ways of earning a living by yourself, without falling short in seeking knowledge or spending all your time and effort in seeking a living. Rather you should be moderate and refrain from taking that which is in people’s hands (i.e., by earning your living by your own efforts), and strive to learn about issues of religion, and thus you will attain the pleasure of Allaah.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever follows a path seeking knowledge, Allaah will make a path to Paradise easy for him.” Narrated by Muslim (2699).
But if a seeker of knowledge cannot earn enough to live on and he has no choice but to accept charity given by this teacher, there is no sin on him, in sha Allaah, if he takes it.
And Allaah knows best.
