*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Qur'an Ayath - Explanation :-/-Allah and His Messenger are the lights in the darkness of this world

For us, the light is Allah, and the Quran through which He
communicates with us. Our guiding light isthe natural bond we have
with Allah, and our instinctive yearning to know our Creator. Let's
cherish that bond and strengthen it, and it will fillus with light.
Allah's light is our salvationfrom fear of the unknown; fear of
failure; fear of loss and pain; fear of poverty, illness and injury;
fear of enemies who want to hurt us; fear of strange things; fear of
death.
"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His
light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lampis within glass,
the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a
blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil
would almost glow even if untouched by fire.Light upon light. Allah
guides to His light whomHe wills. And Allah presents examples for the
people, and Allah is Knowing of all things." - Quran, Surat An-Nur,
24:35/

HADEES:->We went to visit the...

There are so many virtues in visiting the sick. It's often a reality
check which helps us to regain focus on our own lives, be grateful for
our own health and it helps us put life into perspective as the ill
and ailing are often in betweenlife and death; between this world and
Hereafter.
"He who visits the sick continues to remain in the fruit garden of
Paradise until he returns." [Sahih Muslim]
"A Muslim walking to visit a sick person will be wading in the mercy
of Allah. When the visitor sits with the sick one, they will be
immersed in mercy until his return." [Ahmed and Ibn Hibban]
But the other virtues of visiting the sick is that often times, your
presence uplifts their mood, brings asmile to their face and helps
them forget their suffering. And sometimes, as this past week showed
me, visiting someone at the right time of their sickness, may be a
Divine Way of Allah bringing help and assistance to the family in
their time of need.
Below is an account of something that happened to me and my friend
just a couple of days ago. The scenes, images and flashbacks still
replay in mymind, and I find the wisdom and lessons that I learnt to
be so numerous…

HADEES:-> - Recitation of the Quran During Menses and Post Natal Bleeding:

TOUCHING THE QUR'AN
-
Recitation of the Quran During Menses and Post Natal Bleeding:
:->
Narrated 'Aisha (RA):
"We set out with the sole intention of performing Hajj and when we
reached Sarif, (11 kms. from Makka,I got my menses. Allah's Messenger
(SAW) came to me while I was weeping. He said "What is the matter
with you? Have yougot your menses? I replied,"Yes." He said, "This is
a thing Allah (SWT) has ordained for the daughters of Adam. So do what
all thepilgrims do with the exception of Tawaf (Circumambulation)
round the Ka'bah." 'Aisha (RA), added, "Allah's Messenger (SAW)
sacrificed cows on behalf of his wives."
Pilgrims make dhikr and read Quran. There was no objection from the
Prophet(SAW) and he (SAW) actually "told" Aisha (RA) todo so.
Another reason being hardship. A woman might forget what she memorized.
So therefore if there is no text forbidding such an act,one cannot
conclude that the act is not allowable. The burden of proof is on
those who claim that such women cannot recite the Quran, and they
offer no clear or direct proof.
There is no harm whatsoever in a menstruating woman or post-partum
bleeding woman reciting the Quran from their memory without actually
touching the Quran./

Qur'an & Hadees Ayath - Explanation :-/

Allah, the Exalted, says:
"And they fall down on their faces weeping and it increases their
humility." (17:109)
Abu Umamah Sudaiy bin `Ajlan Al-Bahili (May Allah be pleased with him)
reported: The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Nothing is dearer to Allah than two drops andtwo marks: A drop of
tears shed out of consciousness of Allah, and a drop of blood shed in
Allah's way. Regarding the two marks, they are: Marks left in the
Cause of Allah and a mark left in observing one of the obligatory acts
of worship of Allah, the Exalted." [At-Tirmidhi].
And if tears do not come, that's okay too. As long as you are honest
with yourself and with Allah, and turn to Him with sincerity and
humility, that's what matters.
Find a place that is your special place, a refuge where you can be
alone to pray, recite Quran, do dhikr, meditate and think. Amid the
chaos and noise of modern life, take time to be alone with your Lord./

Story - Past Event:-/- Let Me Be True:

When it all comes down,
let me be true.
When seas thicken to brown,
and the world grows dim,
and love scatters
like ash on the wind,
and every man lies
to protect his skin:
let me be true to You Allah,
let me be true.
To the Messenger,
let me be near:
when in a dream I sat by him
against the beam of a wrecked ship,
he in a green turban, and a battle clashing…
we drank water, and breathed,
then he turned to me, and said,
"It's not what you speak that matters
but what you do."
To my heaven-blessed hero
let me be true.
To my love, let me be sincere.
I stand beneath a lamp
in a sphere of light
on a desert road. I don't peer
into the night. I listen,
beard dewed with rain,
for the footsteps of her soul.
Let me lead her to Jannah
and fulfill the shepherd's goal.
Let me soothe her sight,
carry her through storm,
and stand like a lion
as armies swarm on.
To my little daughter,
O Allah I implore you,
let me be forever true.
When she laughs and exclaims,
"You're so strong, Baba!"…
When I speak God's name
and she listens solemnly,
when she leaps and believes
that I'll save her…
To her nature and her dreams,
let me be true.
To myself – the greatest dare -
let me be real as earth.
Through the cinder heaps
and broken cities of the world
let me sweep, through black smoke,
eyes streaming, striding
like a bear. Let me hold on
to Book and pen, knife and drum,
true love as gun and guide.
Let me bow down on the roadside,
true to the Lord of the Dawn.
Let me rise, head up,
bloody and torn
but voicing truth
to the livid eyes of death,
and spreading peace
where only hate was found.
Dress me in taqwa.
Feed me dust and bone
and find me where sea meets stone
at the Western edge
when, finally, every secret is dredged,
and the world is used and done.

-:Hadees:-:->"They pray like us and fast as we do. However, they give in charity, whereas wecannot do that, and they free servants, whereas we cannot afford it." The Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said,/

Imam Ahmad recorded that `Abdullah said that theMessenger of Allah,
sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said,
" Paradise is nearer to any of you than the strap of hisshoe, and so
is the (Hell) Fire." [Ahmad 1:387]
Al-Bukhari collected this Hadith through the narration of Ath-Thawri
[Fath al-Bari 11:328]. This Hadith indicates the close proximity of
both good and evil in relation to mankind. If this is the case, then
this is the reason Allah the Exalted encouraged mankind to rush to
perform acts of righteousness and obedience and to avoid
theprohibitions. By doing so, their sins and errors will beforgiven
and they will acquire rewards and an exalted status. Allah the Exalted
said,
"Race with one another in hastening towards forgiveness from your
Lord, and Paradise the width whereof is as the width of the heaven and
the earth."
Allah the Exalted said in another Ayah,
"And march forth in the way (to) forgiveness fromyour Lord, and for
Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who
have Taqwa." (3:133)
Allah said here,
"prepared for those whobelieve in Allah and His Messengers. That is
the grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He is pleased with. And
Allah isthe Owner of the great bounty."
Meaning, "This, that Allah has qualified them for, is alla part of His
favor, bounty and compassion." We mentioned a Hadith collected in the
Sahih in which the poor emigrants said to the Messenger, sallallahu
`alayhi wa sallam, "O Allah's Messenger! The wealthy people will get
higher grades and permanent enjoyment." He asked,"Why is that?" They
said,"They pray like us and fast as we do. However, they give in
charity, whereas wecannot do that, and they free servants, whereas we
cannot afford it." The Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said,
"Shall I tell you of a good deed that, if you acted upon, you would
catch up with those who have surpassed you? None would overtake you
and bebetter than you, except those who might do the same. Say,
"Glorious is Allah," Allah is Most Great", and "Praise be to Allah",
thirty three times each after every prayer."/

Health:-/- Dark chocolate, it’s good for you!

Chocolate comes from cocoa beans, that grow ona cocoa tree. Research
shows that a high percentage of cocoa, as found in dark chocolate,
packs in a variety of plant nutrients that can be goodfor your
cardiovascular health, your skin and more.
Loaded with flavonoids, essential minerals and antioxidants, some
experts equate dark chocolate and cocoa with the goodness of green tea
and blueberries. But, remember to not go on a binging spree, but to
eat in moderation.
Health benefits of dark chocolate:
A healthy dose of antioxidants: Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants
found aplenty in nuts, berries, green tea and the likes, which helps
fight free radicals that can damage your health. Research has shown
that the antioxidants found in this delicacy can help protect you
against cancer, premature ageing, cardiovascular disease andeven
cancer.
Sweet news for your blood sugar: Dark chocolate, a healthy dessert
option, can fulfill your cravings for sweets and also keep your blood
sugar in check. Dark chocolate has a low glycaemic index, which means
it won't raise your blood sugar levels, of course, when eaten in
moderation.
Minerals your body needs: Dark chocolate packs in many essential
minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron that do your body
good in many ways.
The feel good factor: There is no denying that chocolate is a mood
enhancer. Chocolate contains chemical compounds like theobromine,
caffeine and phenylethylamine, which release endorphins that create a
pleasurable feeling. So if you're feelingblue, bite into a piece of
dark chocolate to feel better. Sans any guilt!
Toast to a healthy heart: Polyphenols found in dark chocolate inhibit
oxidationof LDL known as bad cholesterol (Read more about cholesterol
reducingfoods here ), thereby preventing heart disease. When this waxy
substance(LDL) sticks to your artery walls (through the processof
oxidation), it can put you at risk of heart disease.
Keeps blood pressure in check: Another means by which dark chocolate
benefits cardiovascular health is by keeping your blood pressure
under check (Watch cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty speak about symptoms
of heart attack ). Studies show that eating dark chocolate in
moderation can help lower blood pressure, so eat a small piece
everydayand reap its benefits./

Story - Past Event:-/-Love Works Miracles in the Heart:

It may be a cliche' to speak about love changing the world. It's not
something we can envision in concreteterms. So let me bring it down to
the level of one human being.
Growing up, I had a friend named Ismail. He was a few years younger
than me– when I was 17 he was 14, I think – and had grown up in a
dysfunctional family that had moved around constantly and had not
bothered to educate the children, so that at the age of 14, Ismail was
functionally illiterate.
I began tutoring Ismail andhis younger brother, teaching them to read
and write. I started from scratch, teaching them the alphabet and the
sounds ofthe letters, and working upto small phonetic words. I tutored
them for one hour every day, seven days a week, in the living room of
their apartment. Their parents were not supportive. I was never paid.
Sometimes their parents were fighting with each other at the same time
I was trying to teach. At times I noticed that the two boys could not
concentrate because they were hungry, so I began feeding them before
our study sessions, and giving them multivitamins. Slowlythey began to
learn, until they could write short essays and letters on their own.
Back then I worked for the United States Geological Survey, measuring
water levels at farms in the Central Valley, and taking water samples
to be testedfor various fertilizers and pesticides. It was hot,
difficult work. I'd ride my motorcycle more than hourto the huge
corporate farms on the west side of the valley. Armed with survey
maps, I would trudge across vast farms in 100 degree heat, seeking the
sumps that brought up ground water for irrigation. If the farms had
been recently irrigated the ground might be soft and my feet would
sink into the mud with every step. Some of the sumps were a dozen feet
deep or more, so in order to get a sample I had to toss a chain link
ladder down into the sump, climb down, fill a test tube, and climb
back out. I was very aware that if the ladder broke I could get stuck
in the sump, and I might not even be missedfor two or three days (no
cell phones in those days). It worried me.
So I began asking Ismail to come to the farms with me. He wasn't doing
anything anyway – he was not enrolled in school because he could not
function anywhere near hisgrade level. He'd ride on the back of the
motorcycle as we passed through dusty, poverty-stricken migrant towns
like Mendota and Firebaugh, sometimes swerving to avoid patches where
tomatoes or oranges had fallen from farm trucks andbeen splattered by
traffic. By the time we arrived, ourhelmet face shields would be
crusted with dead gnatsand butterflies. At the farms, Ismail would
help me locate the wells, keep an eye on me while I climbed down, and
then ride back with me. Sometimes on the way home I'd feel him tilting
a bit and I'd realize he had fallen asleep on the motorcycle, so I'd
give him a nudge with my elbow to wake him up.
Ismail was like a brother tome. I tutored him not because I wanted
anythingfrom him, but because he was like family. I loved him, though
I never would have told him so. I was notraised to speak such words.
When I was twenty years old, Ismail got a scholarship to study at the
Islamic University of Madinah, in Saudi Arabia. When it was time for
him to leave I drove him to Los Angeles and took him to the airport.
The next year was hard for him. The living environment in the
university dorms at Madinah was austere, and Ismail was lonely. I used
tosend him letters with jokes,or stories about the peopleback home.
One day Ismail called collect, and as we spoke I told him to keep his
head up, that we were all proud of him. Ismail's voice became choked
with emotion and he said, "I love you, Wael." Strange asit may seem, I
had never heard those words before from anyone./

Qur'an Ayath - Explanation :-/- Ask Allah, He WILL Help You!

If you ask Allah for guidance sincerely, believing in Him and trusting
in Him, he WILL guide you. If you approach Him with humility and faith
and ask Him for help, He WILL help you. "And your Lord says: "Call on
Me; I will answer you." (Quran 40:60). I personally have experienced
this in my life again and again. Allah is real and miracles do happen.
I remember one time whenI was deeply confused about something that
mattered very much to me.I prayed to Allah late at night, and began
crying. After my prayer, I laid down right there on the musalla

powerful dreams I have ever had, with a very clear answer to my
problem. Then the next night I'm outside and feeling some doubts
again, and all of a sudden I see a tremendous meteor go flaming across
the sky right in front of me.I was amazed and I laughed out loud
because Allah could not have made it any clearer.
I'm not promising you a dream and a meteor (smile). But Allah's
promise is true. He WILL answer you, maybe in ways that you see
clearly, or in ways that you don't. The answer might be to protect you

the sky right in front of me.I was amazed and I laughed out loud
because Allah could not have made it any clearer.
I'm not promising you a dream and a meteor (smile). But Allah's
promise is true. He WILL answer you, maybe in ways that you see
clearly, or in ways that you don't. The answer might be to protect you
from harm, or to give you something better than what you requested. Or
theanswer might only be a feeling of faith and tranquility in your
heart that allows you to move forward confidently. He WILL help you./
