the Farewell Pilgrimage:

Fellow Muslims! Each time the month of Dhul-Hijjah approaches, a page
in Islaamic History glitters and a stance of the Messenger of Allaah
comes to limelight.
Among the major landmarks of Hajj are thosecomprehensive principles
that the Prophet announced in his sermon during the Farewell
Pilgrimage. The Prophet proclaimed these concepts that were far from
mere slogans but formed part of his call right from the onsetof his
mission and it was never change nor altered by any circumstances. He
impressed these principles in the hearts of his companions in order
that they could convey them to the mankind, and those principles were
made to survive many generations because of their veracity and
efficiency.
In that historical sermon, the Messenger of Allaah warned against
associatingany partner to Allaah in worship which is a disease that
has almost destroyed the humanity, nearly severed man's relationship
with the source of his goodand his very existence and dragged him into
the abyssof whimsical desires. So, the fundamental meaning upon which
the rules of Hajj as well as the rules of acts of worship revolve is
Oneness of Allaah. Islaam isa religion of Monotheism and the House of
Allaah was specifically built for the purpose of worshipping Allaah
alone. He says in His Glorious Book,
"And (remember) when We showed Ibraaheem the site of the (Sacred)
House (the Kaabah at Makkah, saying): 'Associate not anything in
worship with Me and sanctify My House for those who circumambulate it
and those who stand up for (prayers) and those who bow (submit
themselves with humility and obedience to Allaah) and make prostration
(in prayer)." (Al-Hajj 22:26)
Hajj is but a manifestation of Oneness of Allaah in its brightest form
and the Muslim nation has never been in need of re-establishing the
essentials of faith as they are during Hajj. There are some people
among the Muslims who have bargained the pure faith of Islaam with
erroneous ideologies, there are some who spread the poison of atheism
with their pens; there are some who have conferred some Divine
attributes on their leaders who claim to know the hidden things and
receive revelations from heaven and there are some who have introduced
the idolization of individuals, exempted some people from religious
obligations and taken men as intermediaries between themselves and
Allaah; not to mention those who worship saints, build domes on
graves, circumambulate round them, invoke their owners and slaughter
for them, thereby causing proliferation of mausoleums and sects.
In the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allaah said,
"It is unlawful for you to shed the blood of one another, to take
unlawfullythe properties of one another or to violate the honour of
one another. They are as unlawful as shedding blood on such a day as
today, in such a month as this and in such asanctified city as this
(Makkah)." (Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim).
These are everlasting basics for fundamental human rights which are
unequalled by any man-made system or statute. In protecting human
life....

We Get What We Give

We get what we give. This is one of the laws of the dunya (this
earthly life) andal-ghayb (the unseen) as well. When we give moneyto
the poor and oppressed, God rewards us with more than we can imagine.
When we share truth, greater truths are revealed to us. When we teach,
we learn. When we show mercy, our Creator has mercy on us. When we
smile, people smile back.
The same is true for love. When we give love, love comes into our lives.
Some people think, "I will open up my love when I meet someone who
loves me truly." Sorry, it doesn't work that way. It's only when we
open up the gates and let our love flow, that loves comes rushing in/

They think that everything happens spontaneously, or that they acquire the things they possess through theirown efforts and endeavors.

They think that everything happens spontaneously, or that they acquire the things they possess through theirown efforts and endeavors. This is both a grave error and also terrible ingratitude toward Allah. These people, who are ignorant even of how to thank someone who gives them a small gift, spend their whole lives blind to the countless blessings that Allah bestows on them. But the fact is that the blessings bestowed by Allah are more numerous than can ever be counted. Allah reveals this in a verse in the Qur’an:
If you tried to number Allah’s blessings, you could never count them. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nahl, 18)
Being Numbered amongThose Who Give Thanks to Allah Is a Characteristic of Believers
Various blessings that people must give thanks to Allah for are revealed inthe Qur’an, and they are reminded to give thanks time and time again. These blessings include the way human beings arecreated with a regular form, their being endowedwith the senses of sight and hearing, Allah's teaching the True Religion to them, His revelation of verses, His purification andcleansing of believers, His forgiving their sins when they repent, His making worship easy, His grantingvictory over unbelievers, believers being rescued from the oppression of theunbelievers, His settling human beings on Earth and giving them the means by which to live, the creation of water to drink, the products of the soil, animals being placed at human beings’ service and disposal, the fruits of the sea, adornments, the ships on the seas and the creation of night an
d day. As revealed in verse 18 of Surat al-Nahl, " If you tried to number Allah’s blessings, you could never count them. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful,” it is impossible to count even the different classes of Allah’s blessings, let alone those blessings one by one.
Giving thanks for a blessing means expressingone’s happiness and gratitude and appreciatingthe value of the blessing bestowed.
Giving thanks to Allah, on the other hand, is the expression of that gratitude in one’s heart and words, knowing that all blessings belong to Himand that all things come from Him alone.

Satan’s Manipulation of the Christians:

It is obvious to anyone with reason that Satan has greatly manipulated these misled people (Christians). He called them and they responded to him; he befooled them and they obeyed him.
He manipulated them with regards to Allah, the Exalted and Most High.
He manipulated them with regards to Jesus (peace be upon him).
He manipulated them with regards to the cross and the worship of it.
He also manipulated them with regards to making pictures and statues in churches and then worshipping them, so you will not find one of their churches without the picture of Mary and Jesus, saints and other holy individuals and martyrs of theirs. Most of them prostrate to pictures and statues, and pray to them instead to Allah the Most High…
The typical example of what these polytheists are doing is like that of a servant of a king who entered upon a man, so theman jumped from his place, prostrated to the servant, worshipped him, and did to him what he was not supposed to do except to the king. Every rational person would consider him an ignorant and a fool because of what he did, since he did to the king's servant what he wassupposed to do only to the king, in terms of honoring, humbleness and humility.
It is well-known that what the servant did here is more likely to cause the king to hate him and look down upon him than to honor him and exalt his status.
This is the situation of one who prostrates to creation,or a picture of creation. This is because he resorted to prostration which is the greatest means of reachingthe Lord's pleasure. Such anaction is not valid except for Allah, so there is no greater repulsiveness or injustice than doing it for a picture or statue of a servant and equalizing between Allah and His servant.
This is why Allah the Most High said,
"Verily, shirk (polytheism, setting up partners with Allah) is a great injustice." [Luqman: 33]
Allah the Most High has created his worshippers prone to recognize uglinessin expressing exaltation, glorification, sumbisivenessand humility towards king's slaves and servants (as such actions are usually done for the king).
So what is the situation of the one who shows this type of reverence to king's enemies? For Satan is the enemy of Allah, and the polytheist is in reality setting Satan, not Allah's prophets and righteous servants¸ as a partner with Allah. For the prophets and righteous servants have nothing to do with those who set them as partners with Allah; they are againstthem and the strongest in hatred of all people towards them. The polytheists, therefore, are only setting up as partners with Allah His enemies, andequalizing between them and Allah in worship, exaltation, prostration and humility.
This is why the invalidity and ugliness of polytheism is recognized by sound innate nature and reason, and this type of ugliness is recognized more clearly than its other types.
The intent here was to mention Satan's manipulation of these people in both the foundation and branches oftheir religion.

Allah will always reward those who give thanks:

Why should Allah punishyou if you are thankful and believe? Allah is
All-Thankful, All-Knowing. (Surat an-Nisa', 147)
Allah's signs and the wisdom in His proofs may only be fully
understood thanks to the understanding and sensitivity possessed by
those who give much thanks. But ungrateful andinsensitive people
cannot understand the wisdom inAllah's signs, and may not even be
aware of their existence.

Allah also advised the prophets to be grateful. For example, in the Qur’an He tells the Prophet Moses(pbuh):

He [Allah] said, 'Moses, I have chosen you over allmankind for My
Messageand My Word. Take whatI have given you and be among the
thankful.' (Surat al-A'raf, 144)
Many verses of the Qur'an reveal how the Messengers were people who
gave much thanks to Allah.
Verse 15 of Surat al-Ahqaf shows the importance of giving thanks and
asking to be grateful in the face of Allah's blessings in the prayer a
believer makes when he reaches the age of 40:
We have instructed man to be good to his parents. His mother borehim
with difficulty and with difficulty gave birthto him; and his bearing
and weaning take thirty months. Then when he achieves his full
strengthand reaches forty, he says, 'My Lord, keep me thankful for the
blessing You bestowed on me and on my parents, and keep me acting
rightly, pleasing You. And make my descendants pious. I have sought
forgiveness of You and I am truly oneof the Muslims.' (Surat al-Ahqaf,
15)

A person will not be harmed by anything if he says every morning & evening 3 times,"Bismilla hillazhi la yadhurruhu..."

Uthman bin Abbaan said that he heard the Prophet [sallAllahu 'alyhi

every morning & evening 3 times,"Bismilla hillazhi la yadhurruhu..."
Uthman had been afflicted by partial paralysis at that time&the man to

and so the decree of Allah was carried out (meaning he was afflicted

An introduction to Ayurveda

An alternative system of medicine, Ayurveda uses a combination of
herbal medicines, specialised diets and massage to treatthe root cause
of a disease, and restore balance inside the body.
Origins of Ayurveda
Ayurveda as we all know had its origin in India. One of the oldest
medical systems in the world, it is categorised as an alternative
therapy. This system of medicine is a combination of herbal medicines,
specialised diets and massage.
The term Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit words 'ayur', meaning
life and 'veda', meaning science. Thus Ayurveda means 'the science of
life'.
Ayurveda expert Dr Amogh Deshpande says, "Ayurveda aims to treat the
root cause of the disease." To achieve this, this system of medicine
works in rebalancing the body. Ayurveda, stresses Dr Deshpande, works
in attune with nature. For instance, Ayurveda prescribes eating in
accordance with the season.
Key insights into Ayurveda
*. Ayurvedic medicine aimsto integrate and bring about equilibrium in
the body, mind and spirit. Inner balance and harmony is believed to
prevent illness and promote overall wellness.
*. This ancient system of medicine uses many techniques to cleanse the
body and reinstatingbalance in the body, mind and spirit. Also note,
if these techniques and medicines aren't used as directed by the
practitioner it can have side effects. Which is why — your diet,
everyday routine and all — play an important role when you're taking
Ayurvedic medicine.
"It is believed that Lord Dhanawantri (the primordial God of health in
ancient India) is the creator of Ayurveda," says Dr Deshpande. "
Charaka Samhita , Sushruta Samhita and Wagbhata Samhita are the three
main texts ofAyurveda."
The vast information in these texts is divided into eight branches.
*. Internal medicine
*. Surgery
*. Treatment of head and neck disease
*. Gynaecology, obstetrics, and paediatrics
*. Toxicology
*. Psychiatry
*. Care of the elderly and rejuvenation
*. Sexual vitality
Fundamental concepts of Ayurveda
Ayurvedic medicine rests on the premise of universal
interconnectedness, its treatment is tailored as per an individual's
body constitution, referred to as prakriti in Ayurveda and life
forces, called doshas .
Body constitution ( prakriti )
Ayurveda has its own takeon the body's constitution.Body constitution
refers toan individual's general health, likelihood of the body going
out of balance and an individual's ability to fight infections and
recover from health ailments.
It refers to each individual's physical and psychological aspects and
the way his/her body functions to maintain health. It is believed that
an individual's prakriti remains unchanged in a lifetime.
Life forces ( doshas )
Life forces or energy (doshas) are aspects of an individual's body
constitution that control the body's activities. Ayurveda categorises
bodytypes into three doshas : vata , pitta and kapha .
*. Each dosha is made up oftwo of five basic elements: ether, air,
fire, water and earth.
*. Each dosha has a specific relationship with the body's functions
and can be out of sync due to several reasons.
*. Each individual has a unique combination of these three doshas ,
although one is likely to be dominant. Doshas are continuously being
altered by food, activity and body functions.
*. An imbalance of dosha will produce symptoms specific to that
particular dosha . This imbalance can be a result of unhealthy
lifestyle, diet, levels of mental and physical exertion, seasons, an
individual's age.
The three doshas in Ayurveda:
Vata dosha: This one combines elements of ether and air. It is
considered to be the most powerful dosha and controls fundamental body
processes like cell division, breathing, waste discharge, the heart
and mind. In people with 'vata'as the dominant dosha areknown to be
particularly vulnerable to skin conditions, rheumatoid arthritis,
heart disease, anxiety, insomnia and neurological conditions.

"The scholars of evil sit at the doors of Jannah (Circlesof I'lm)
calling the people to it with their speech, but calling to the fire
with theiractions; everytime they speak their words to the people they
rush forward whilst their actions suggestnot to listen to them - for
ifwhat they had been callingto was true, they would have been the
first to respond. Thus they are seemingly guides, but are in fact
highway robbers."
