*Store fresh garlic in a cool, dark place away from exposure to heat& sunlight. Garlic also needs to breathe and allowing the correct air circulationwill extend its shelf life. This will help maintain its maximum freshness & help prevent sprouting, which reduces its flavor. It will keep best in either anuncovered or a loosely covered container. Depending upon the age of the garlic & the variety, whole garlic bulbs will keep fresh for roughly just under a month. However, once you break the head of garlic, it greatly reduces its shelf life to just a few days. Garlic heads and cloves should notbe stored in your kitchen fridge. Ifgarlic is refrigerated then it is likely to go soft and moldy. The same problem is likely to occur if garlic is stored in a sealed plastic container. If garlic begins to sprout or go soft then it is past itsprime. Throw it out/
