Dua ul A'deela
DUA'A - UL - A'DEELA
This dua'a contains the articles offaith. Every faithful must recite
this dua'a regularly to drive awayShaytan, and to remain firm in the
true faith. A dying faithful, in the last moments of life, should
recite this dua'a, or , if it is not possible, ask someone else to
read it aloud for him or her, so asnot to be misled by doubts whichmay
come into the mind, or not to be depressed emotionally, because these
forces together with the misleading suggestions of Shaytan, more often
than not, in the last hour of life, make mandie a death of an infidel
or hypocrite.

Allah (Himself) is witness that there is no god but He.
The angles and the men of wisdom, standing firm for justice(too are witness).
That there is no god but He, the Almighty, the All-Wise. Verily,
religion with Allah is Islam.
And I, a timid servant, sinful, guilty, insignificant, needy,
destitute, give witness of my Benefactor, my creator, my Sustainer,
and my liberal patron, just as He Himself testifies, and testify the
Angles and the men of wisdom, His servants, that verily there is no
god but He, Possessor of bounties and favours, generosity and
blessings.
Eternal almighty, Ever-lasting, knower, One and only Ever-living,
Ever-existing, Hearer, seer, willing, discriminating, Aware,
Independent. Worthy is He of these attributes, although, truly
speaking, He is over and above attribution. He was Almighty prior to
the actuality of might and power was created. He was wise before the
conception of knowledge and reason was brought about. He was Absolute
Sovereign even when there was no kingdom or possession. He is Glory
under al circumstances. His supreme Being is prior to antecedence, and
Eternal, without a beginning. He will survive continually beyond the
end of everything, imperishable, and without an end. He has no needs;
in the beginning as well asin the end. He is able free from
dependence, by Himself, whether inward, or outward, There is no
injustice in His Judgment, no unfairness in His management, no
oppression in His administration.
(It is) impossible to deny His Sovereignty, or to run away from His
firm grip, or to avoid His punishment. His mercy overtakes his anger.
If a (handicapped) person asks for anything from Him, unable to
approach Him (properly) on account of frustrating trouble, he is
treated in the matter of fulfillment at parwith an able beseecher. He
has given capacity to carry out (His) commands, has made it easy to
avoid (His ) prohibitions and has not made obedience cumbersome but
according to one's competency.
Glory be to he! How much kind is He! Highest is His glory. Glory be to
He! How wonderful His gifts! And certainly his favours are countless.
He sent down Prophets to explain clearly His justice, appointed guides
to make known his power and generosity, and put us among the ummah
(followers) of the Prophet-in-chief, the closest friend of Allah, the
superlative being, and the most pious, Muhammad, Allah's blessings
andpeace be on him and on his descendants.
We paid attention to him, believed in what he said, and in the Holy
Quran, Thou revealed to him, and in his successor Ali, appointed by
him on the day of Ghadeer, and identified in clear words: "This is
Ali". I testify that there are pious Imams and righteous successors,
after the chosen Messenger , from Ali, the subduer of infidels. After
him, his eldest son, Hasan bin Ali, thereafter his brother, Husayn,
the grandson of the Messenger ofAllah, obedience unto whom is the will
of Allah; then Ali, the adorer of Allah (A'abid), then Muhammad, the
treasure of knowledge (Baaqir), then Ja'far, the truthful (S'aadiq),
then Moosathe sagacious (Kaaz'im), then Ali the devoted (Riz'aa), then
Muhammad the pious (Taqiyy), then Ali the (Naqiyy), then Hasan the
gatherer (A'skariyy), then, theawaited saviour, evident argument and
established successor, my hope, because of hose perpetuity, the world
is going on; because of whose blessings all living beings get their
daily bread, because of whose presence, the heaven and the earth stay
stable; and through him Allah will fill the earth with equity and
justice, when it is run over with tyranny and oppression.
I bear witness that their words are decisive arguments; to followtheir
example is obligatory, to obey them is compulsory, to love them is
necessary (because it has been) preordained, to take after them is
sure salvation, to oppose them is certain destruction. They are the
chiefs of the people of paradise, effective helpers on the Dayof
Judgment, the best guides for the mankind, surely the best approved
successors. I testify that death is certain, interrogation in the
grave is certain, raising of the dead is certain, Siraat (the bridge
over hell) is certain, Meezan (trail) is certain, Hisaab
(accountability) is certain, The Book (Holy Quraan) istrue, paradise
is real, Hell is real, and certainly there is no doubt in the hour of
resurrection. Verily Allah shall raise the dead from their graves.
O Allah! I hope to receive Thy favour, Thy generosity and mercy I
expect for getting into paradise, for my conduct gives me no right, for
obtaining Thy bliss as I was not obedient, except that I believe Thy
Oneness, and Thy Justice. I depend upon Thy favours, and Thy
generosity. Accommodated me for the sake of my Prophet and his
progeny, Thy beloved friends. Thou art the most Generous, the most
Merciful. O Allah send blessings on the best creature, Muhammad, and
on his pious andpure progeny. There is no authority and no might
except Allah's, the High, the Great. (All) praise is for Allah, the
lord of the worlds. My Allah! O the most Merciful, I deposit my
beliefs and religion with Thee as a Trust, Thou art the best of all
trustees, We have been commanded to preserve that which is entrusted
to us, so give back (what I have deposited now) at the time of mydeath
and when "Mankar and Nakeer" will question me, for the sake of
Muhammad and his pure and pious progeny, through Thy Mercy, O the Most
Merciful.

Many authentically reported supplications have comprised the following
statement:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ا عُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ ٱلعَدِيلَةِ عِنْدَ ٱلْمَوْتِ
all¡humma inn¢ a`£dhu bika mina al`ad¢lati `indaalmawti
O Allah, I seek Your protection against deviation at the hour of death.
Deviation at the hourof death stands for shifting from the right to
the wrong at the hour of death. To explain, Satan attends at the hour
of death in order to deceivethe moribund and suggest evil to him in
order to make him doubtabout his religion. If Satan succeeds, he will
pull out faith from the heart of the dying person. To avoid that, many
supplications have comprised statements of seeking Almighty Allah's
protection against deviation at death. Fakhr al-Mu¦aqqiq¢n says, "To
escape deviation at the hour of death, one should bethink the proofs
of creed in which he believes, as well as thefive principles of the
religion with all of their irrefutable evidences, with absolute
sincerity and purity and should then trust them with Almighty Allah
beseeching Him for giving them back at the hour of dying. This can be
done by saying the following prayer:
اللَّهُمَّ يَا ا رْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
all¡humma y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na
O Allah, O most Merciful ofall those who show mercy,
إِنِّي ا وْدَعْتُكَ يَقِينِي هٰذَا وَثَبَاتَ دِينِي
inn¢ qad awda`tuka yaq¢n¢ h¡dh¡ wa thab¡ta d¢n¢
I am depositing with You this faith of mine and my firmness on this belief;
وَا نتَ خَيْرُ مُسْتَوْدَعٍ
wa anta khayru mustawda`in
and You are the ever-bestof all those who keep deposits.
وَقَدْ ا مَرْتَنَا بِحِفْظِ ٱلْوَدَائِعِ
wa qad amartan¡ bi¦if¨i alwad¡'i`i
You have commanded us to keep safe deposits thatare put with us;
فَرُدَّهُ عَلَيَّ وَقْتَ حُضُورِ مَوْتِي
faruddah£ `alayya waqta¦u¤£ri mawt¢
so, (please) keep for me this deposit to give it back to me at the
time of my death
According to the view of Fakhr al-Mu¦aqqiq¢n, Du`¡' al-`Ad¢lah along
with calling its contents in one's mind grants security against the
danger of deviation at the hour of death. The question whether this
supplication has been reported from the Holy Imams, peace be upon
them, or has been composed by a certain scholar is controversial.
Concerning this, our master °¡jj M¢rz¡ °usayn al-N£r¢, a
master°ad¢thist and well-versedin the reports of the Holy Imams, peace
be upon them, says that Du`¡' al-`Ad¢lah has been composed by some
scholars since it cannot be found in the famous books of °ad¢th.
A similar prayer is Hifz emaan:-
It is also worth mentioning that Shaykh al-±£s¢ has narrated that
Mu¦ammad ibn Sulaym¡n al-Daylam¢ said to Imam Ja`far al-¯¡diq (`a)
"Your adherents say that Faith is of two sections; one is steady and
the other depository. So, please teach me a supplication that makes my
faith perfect and saves it from removal."
Imam al-¯¡diq (`a) hence taught him to say the following prayer after
each obligatory prayer:
رَضِيتُ بِٱللَّهِ رَبّاً
ra¤¢tu bill¡hi rabban
I have submitted to Allah being my Lord,
وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِوآلِهِ نَبِيّاً

Verily, You have power over all things.

He will survive continually beyond the
end of everything, imperishable, and without an end. He has no needs;
in the beginning as well asin the end.
My Allah! O the most Merciful, I deposit my
beliefs and religion with Thee as a Trust, Thou art the best of all
trustees, We have been commanded to preserve that which is entrusted
to us, so give back (what I have deposited now) at the time of mydeath
and when "Mankar and Nakeer" will question me, for the sake of
Muhammad and his pure and pious progeny, through Thy Mercy, O the Most
Merciful.

وَعِنْدَ مُسَاءَلَةِ مُنْكَرٍ وَنَكِيرٍ

bira¦matika y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na
[I beseech You] in the name of Your mercy; O most Merciful of all
those who show mercy.
I am depositing with You this faith of mine and my firmness on this belief;
وَا نتَ خَيْرُ مُسْتَوْدَعٍ
wa anta khayru mustawda`in
and You are the ever-bestof all those who keep deposits.
وَقَدْ ا مَرْتَنَا بِحِفْظِ ٱلْوَدَائِعِ
wa qad amartan¡ bi¦if¨i alwad¡'i`i
You have commanded us to keep safe deposits thatare put with us;
فَرُدَّهُ عَلَيَّ وَقْتَ حُضُورِ مَوْتِي
faruddah£ `alayya waqta¦u¤£ri mawt¢
so, (please) keep for me this deposit to give it back to me at the
time of my death

Women, Husband's insufficient earnings are not excuse for divorce
Question
salam,i would like to ask about my sister.i m elderbrother and my
father was expired before 10 years,i treat mysister like my daughter
and i fulfill all her demands since my her childhood, now in jan 2012
she was marries after three years of engegment, now after marriage we
knew that they all not financial strong, and her husband not able to
fulfill her requirements,as we are inancialy stable, she afraid no
future with him,and he dout on her all the time as he has a complex
that they are notfinancially strong and he tourcher her all the
time, now my sister residing with us since last5 months, her husband
appologise for all that things they want to take her home, but my
sister strongly refused she dontwant to go with him as she think she
has no future with him because he is not earning sufficient and they
renting the house they are not able to pay rent regularly as well, they
keep telling lie since begining that they are in good financial
condition and he has good job and all that ,now she want divorce,so
what we can do, and what is islam saysabout this,as her husband
refused that, what is girls right for divorse and what is allah says
please guide us we are in trouble thanks.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
, is His slave and Messenger.
If the husband beats his wife without her being recalcitrant, or that
he beats her severely, leaving scars and marks on her body, then this
is a harm that allows her to ask for divorce; and if thehusband
refuses to divorce her, she may takeher case to the court so that the
judge would oblige him to divorce heror that the judge himself would
divorce her from him. She may as well ask her husband for Khul' due to
the harm he inflicts on her provided that she gives him back her dowry
so that he would divorce her. The same applies if she hates him to a
point that she fears not to fulfill his rights.
As regards the issue of fearing the future and him renting a house and
not owning one, then this is not a legitimate excuse for her to reject
him as a husband, as he is obliged only to provideher with a suitable
accommodation according to his ability; as Allaah Says (what means): {
Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means.
}[Quran 65:6]

Women, Her family and ex-husband pressure her to take Khul' from her husband
Question
As Salaam Alai Kum A girl was married at age of 17+ without her
consent; during the relationship of marriage she had three children;
the woman quite often brought to the attention of her family members
the strains in the first marriage, however, they asked her to
continue. They could not get along and finally divorced each other,
mutual agreement. After completing the Iddah, Shariah formalities, etc.
she came in contact with a man, liked him and both got married
(Nikaah) as per Shariah guidelines. The three children from her first
husband stay with the mother & second husband (the couple). The couple
is happily married for last 10-12 years; the children also are happy &
their basic needs are taken care-of; there is no dispute in
relationship, this relationship is full of love, genuine feelings;
care, affection, understanding, etc. The elder daughter (first child)
recently got married (most of the expenses of the marriagewere borne
by biological father). Now the other two children have grown-up, the
biological father demands that the kids stay with him, citing they
will have brighter future and shall not be deprived of the luxuries of
life. To give the children their 'HAQ"; the condition imposed by
thewoman's (mother) family members and first husband is that she
should take KHULA from the second husband. The mother cannot stay
without the children; thiscouple (woman + second husband) cannot live
without each other; there is no valid reasons for separation, both are
happy with each other. The people involved are demanding / forcing the
woman to take KHULA from the second husbandand go back to the first
husband. Otherwise she and the children will be deprived from the
'HAQ' they should get by meansinheritance. "Is it fair or permissible
to force the Woman to take KHULA or force the Second Husband to give
KHULA without any valid reasons or justifications? "Is it fair or
permissible to withhold one's 'HAQ' and deprived them with what they
entitled for"?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
, is His Slave and Messenger.
It is not permissible for anyone to force two spouses to separate
through divorce or Khul' without a Sharee'ah-based reason. It would
not even be valid unless they consented to it. Rather, this is like
what the sorcerers and devils do when they work to separate loved
ones. This causes Fitnah (tribulation) in the earth and great
corruption. Allaah The Exalted Said about sorcerers (what means): {
They then learn from them that by which they cause separation between
a man and his wife. } [Quran 2:102]. It is reported in Saheeh Muslim
that one of the troops of Ibless (the Devil) says to him: " I did not
leave him alone until I caused separation between him and his wife. "
So he (Iblees) brings him close to him and says: " How good youare! "
Those people should be reminded to fear Allaah for themselvesand to
stop this evil act.
Likewise, it is not the right of the father to restrict his children
from their right of inheritance due to them staying in the custody of
their mother. If he wrote this in his will, then that (partof the)
will would be invalid and it is not permissible to fulfill it. Allaah
The Exalted divided the inheritance according to His Book and He gave
every rightful person his right, and then followed that by saying
(what means): { These are the limits set by Allaah, and whoever obeys
Allaah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens [in
Paradise] under which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein;and that
is the great attainment. And whoeverdisobeys Allaah and His Messenger
and transgresses His limits – He will put him into the Fire to abide
eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment. } [Quran
4:13-14]. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 120933 .
As for the custody of the children, it is the right of the mother.
However, if she marries, then custodyis transferred thereafter to the
person entitled to it after her according to the order stated by
juristsas clarified in Fatwa 84618 . Some of the scholars stipulated
that the right of custody for the father is conditioned upon him
having a righteous female to manage that custody. This is reported by
the Maaliki jurists.
If there is any dispute in such issues, it is only appropriate to
refer to those specialized in looking into Muslim affairs (like
Islamic courtsand Islamic centers).
Allaah Knows best.

their basic needs are taken care-of; there is no dispute in
relationship, this relationship is full of love, genuine feelings;
care, affection, understanding, etc.
Rather, this is like
what the sorcerers and devils do when they work to separate loved
ones. This causes Fitnah (tribulation) in the earth and great
corruption. Allaah The Exalted Said about sorcerers (what means): {

(Narrated by al-Haakim, 2/399; al-Bayhaqi, 3/249. It was classed as

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allaah (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:'Whoever reads Soorat
al-Kahf on the day of Jumu'ah, a light will shine for him from beneath
his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day

Fridays.'"
Al-Mundhiri said, this wasnarrated by Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh in his
Tafseer, with an isnaad with which there was nothing wrong.
(al-Targheeb wa'l-Tarheeb, 1/298)
The soorah may be read during the night or the day of Jumu'ah. The
night of Jumu'ah starts from sunset on Thursday, and the day of
Jumu'ah ends at sunset. Therefore the time for reading this soorah
extends from sunset on Thursday to sunset on Friday.
Al-Mannaawi said:
Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said inhis Amaali: "In some reports it says 'the

They may be reconciled by saying that what is meant is the day which

Al-Mannaawi also said:
"It is recommended to read it during the day or night of Jumu'ah, as

Story - Novel The Fever CHAPTER 4
CHAPTER 4
A sweet aroma filled the air as I woke from the comfort of the bed.
I did not recognize the smell at first, for I hadn't smelt it in such
a long time, but eventually it hit me what the scent possibly was.
"Good, you're awake," my wife said as she brought a steaming mug to the bed.
"Coffee?" I asked half surprised half thrilled at the sight.
"Yes, they had some in the drawer over there by the counter. Paul,
this is wonderful."
"Mmmmm," I said as I slowly sipped the coffee."Where are the girls?"
"Swimming. I walked them down to the pool this morning and they've
been having a grand time. I think we are someof the only people in the
hotel right now."
I took another sip of the black liquid and smiled. Jen smiled back at
me and lay down on the bed next to me.
"The girls are gone?"
"Mmhmmm," she answered.
"Really," I said and set down my coffee mug on the nightstand. Jen
grabbed the blankets and pulled them over both of us.
"How long are they going to be gone?"
"At least a little while yet."
"Well in that case..."
"It's been awhile since we've done this."
"Too long."
She laughed and we continued until a rappingon the door interrupted our session.
"I'll get it," I said and quickly threw on some clothes before walking
tothe door. Jennifer was still giggling. The rappingcontinued against
the door, harder than the first time.
I stuck my eye up to the peephole and saw a disoriented, unfamiliar
face through the small piece of glass. "Who is it?"
"I'm looking for a Jacob Finch."
"Sorry, wrong room."
"Okay, thank you," the voice said and then walked away.
"What was that all about?" Jen asked.
"Someone was looking for somebody and they had the wrong room."
"Oh," she paused and then smiled, pulling the blankets closer around
her. I started walking towards the bed when another rapping started on
the door, this time much lighter than the last. I walked back to the
door, irritated.
"Better not be that same idiot," I muttered as I stood up to the
peephole. I saw nothing. Confused, I started walking back towards the
bed. The rapping suddenly continued. Nowangry, I stomped back to the
door. Jennifer just laughed.
Once again, when I got tothe door, I could see no one. I was just
about to walk away when I heard a child's voice say, "C'monDad, stop
playing games and let us in." Jen must have heard them too because she
was instantlyout of the bed, wrapped in the sheets, and hurriedly
striding into the bathroom with a lookof amusement across her face.
Once she slammed the door, I opened the door for the twin girls.
"Gee wiz took you long enough. Where is Mommy?"
"She's in the bathroom, Hun."
"Well then why is her underwear and clothes all over the floor?" One
ofthe twins asked. "Are these yours?" the other asked as she held up
some red plaid boxer shorts. All I could do was laugh.
The day went by quickly after that.
We decided to order lunch to our hotel room, and the girls could not
get enough of the kiddy pool area. Jen and I stayed curled up on the
couch for most of the dayand just relaxed and watched cable- a first
for both of us. Jen was intrigued by the multiple soap operas and
continued to wake me upas I watched them through my eyelids. But when
suppertime came, Iwas more than awake.
"Everyone ready for steaks?" I yelled with enthusiasm.
"Yeah," I was greeted with much less enthusiasm. The twins were wiped
out for al theswimming they had beendoing that day and Jen was
preoccupied for dressing them for the lessthan ideal winters of
Chicago.
We left the hotel and found a steakhouse just down the road. Jen and I
had gone there on special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries
and such, because they weren't expensive and they had very good food.
When we arrived, we were immediately seated, just beating the
suppertime rush. We were put off in a corner, away from the crowding
of the restaurant, and I ordered premium sirloinsfor everyone right
away.
Soon when the waiter came back, everyone received a large slab of meat
in front of them, sided with French fries and coleslaw. A large bottle
of barbecue sauce was set in the middle of the table. The twin's eyes
were huge when the plates were set in front of them.
"Would you say grace?" I politely motioned to Jen. She nodded and
began the ritual.
"Bless us oh Lord, for these thy gifts, which we are about to receive,
from thine bounty, through Christ, our Lord, Amen."
"Alright, let's eat!" I said and started sawing away at the tender
meat. Jen cut up the food for the twins and they ate a few bites then
moved on to the French fries, completely avoiding the coleslaw.
We boxed up everything that was not eaten and left a larger than
normal tip on the table for the waiter to pick up. Jen took the girls
to the bathroom to clean up while I paid the bill and soon we were on
our way back to the hotel. Once there, everyone soon fell fast asleep.
I lasted longer than everyone else, and I constantly stared at Jen and
the girls, appreciating what I had been given to treasure. For the
first time, I actually felt like I was succeeding at my job as
ahusband and as a father.
A sweet aroma filled the air as I woke from the comfort of the bed.

In our life happiness is more important than smile cause smile comes
from lips but happiness comes from the heart so BE HAPPY FOREVER
My Life + My Joy + My Plisur + My Relif + My Honor + My Pride = Ur 1 SMILE
When you smile it like a sunrise to me. and I want a daily sunrise in

The Christian view of the signs of the end times
It is said that our Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)
predicted in the hadiths what would happen in the world during the End
Times before Judgment Day. When we look at today'sevents in the light
of the hadiths and the explanations of Islamic scholars, we realize
that the period we are living in is the End Times. According to the
hadiths, this period will be a Golden Age in which the world will
experience the ascendancy of Islamic morality under the leadership of
Mahdi, Jesus (pbuh) will come to the Earth for the second time and
gather the People of the Book together in a period of abundance,
blessing andwealth. When we look atthe parts of Christian holy
scripture that predict that the signs of the End Times are nearly
complete, we see an important parallel between them and the hadiths of
our Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
At various times, Almighty Allah has sent messengers and books to
human beings to show them the right path. Because of this, people
have been awaresince Adam's (pbuh) timeof Allah's existence and
commands and have found the best and wisest solutions for life's
problems in revealed religions.
Even though revealed religions contained decrees that varied according
to the conditions and the environments of the periods in which they
were sent, they presented to people the same model of belief and
morality. They all declared to people the same basic truths about
Allah's existence and unity, His qualities, the purpose of the
creation of human beings and other living things, how one must become
Allah's servant and live so as to earn His favor, how to live and act,
the concepts of good, evil, truth and falsehood, how people should
order their lives in this world, and what one must do to have eternal
life.
But, in the course of time, Judaism and Christianity underwent some
corruption and certain superstitious beliefs and legends entered their
holy scripture. But still, when we look at the books of these two
religions in the light of the Qur'an, we see that many true beliefs
and moral values proper to revealed religion have survived intact.
These beliefs and values are those held in common by all three
revealed religions.
When we look at these common beliefs, we findthat many Christians
believe in the End Times when Jesus (pbuh) will return to Earth for
the second time. These Christians believe, based on their own
scripture, that the signs of the End Times have occurred oneby one and
that Jesus' (pbuh) second coming is near. In this regard, it is
stated in the New Testament as thus:
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him
privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will
be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? Jesus answered:
"Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name,
claiming, 'I am Jesus,' and will deceive many." (Matthew 24:3-5)
Here are some of the remarkable examples of similarity between the
signs described in Christian scripture and the hadiths:
THE APPEARANCE OF FALSE PROPHETS AND MESIAHS:
For many will come in my name, claiming, "I am Jesus," and will
deceive many. (Matthew,24:5)
and many false prophetswill appear and deceive many people. (Matthew, 24:11)
Recently Jim Jones, DavidKoresh and many other individuals have
claimedto be the Messiah. According to Christian interpretation,
these false prophets will be the prelude for the coming of the last
false prophet-the Antichrist. In the hadiths, our Prophet (may Allah
bless him and grant him peace) alludes to this event:
The Last Hour will not come before there come forth thirty Dajjals
(imposters), each presenting himself as an apostle of Allah. (Abu
Dawud)
WARS
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are
notalarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
(Matthew 24:6)
In the End Times, there will be reports of wars and conflicts in all
parts of the world. These events will become morefrequent in the End
Times and Christians interpret this as a sign.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There
will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (Matthew 24:7)
More lives were lost in wars in the 20th century than at any other
time inhistory. The use of weapons of mass destruction (nuclear,
chemical and biological) was predicted both in Christian scriptures
and in the hadiths.
At a time when the world will be in harj [utter confusion and
disorder], fitna will appear, people will be attacked …(Al-Muttaqi
al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 12)
FAMINES
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There
will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (Matthew 24:7)
In countries like Ethiopiaand Sudan, famine has been a problem for
years and has caused thedeath of people of all ages. According to the
report of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organizationof the
year 2000, 826 million people are undernourished. In other words, one
in every six people in the world is hungry. This is acknowledged both
in Islamic sources and by Christians as being a harbinger of the End
Times. Famines and the spread of poverty are mentioned in the hadiths
as signs of the End Times:
The poor will grow in number. (Amal al-Din al-Qazwini, Mufid al-`Uulum
wa Mubid al-Humum)
…there will be exceedingly stressful days and hunger will rule.
(Muhammad ibn `Abd ar-Rasul Barzanji, Al-Isha`ah li Ashrat as-Sa`ah,
p. 220.)
EARTHQUAKES AND NATURAL DISASTERS
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There
will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (Matthew 24:7)
Of course, there have always been earthquakes in the history of the
world, but,as Christians believe, the number will increase as Jesus'
(pbuh) return comes near. The frequency of violent earthquakes in the
last few years puts them high up in public awareness. According
todata released by the American National Earthquake Center in 1999,
there were 20,832 earthquakes of small or great magnitude in the
world. An estimated 22,711 individuals lost their lives in these
earthquakes. When we look at the past, there were far fewer
earthquakes; according to a report of the United States Geological
Society(USGS), in the approximately 400 years between the 1556 and
1975, there were only 110 whose magnitude was 5.0 or more. The same
society reports that, in the 23 years between 1980 and 2003,1685
earthquakes with amagnitude of 6.5 and greater occurred. Certainly,
these figures show plainly that there has been an increase in the
incidence of earthquakes since the prophet's time 1400.
Since the 1990's countless tropical storms, hurricanes and tornadoes
have occurredand winds have reached speeds of more than 200mph. The
hadiths say that natural disasters such as earthquakes andhurricanes
are signs of the End Times:
The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until... earthquakes will
be very frequent. (Bukhari)
There are two great hadiths before the Day of Judgment... and then
years of earthquakes. (Narrated by Umm Salama (ra))
THE SPREAD OF HERETICAL PHILOSOPHIES
Christians believe that there will be an alienation from the Christian
faith in the LastDays. Many denominations will abandon the basic
teachings of the gospel in favor of New Age practices, eastern
religions, meditation, reincarnation, astrology,communicating with
thedead, idolatry and magic.
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the
faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such
teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been
seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order
themto abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received
with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. (1
Timothy, 4:1-3)
This situation is mentioned in the hadiths:
…all of the prohibitions are regarded as lawful (Ibn Hajar
al-Haythami, Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntazar, p.
23.)
The Hour will come when people will believe in the stars and reject
Qadar [the Divine Decree of destiny]. (Al-Haythami, Kitab al-Fitan)
THE RAPID SPREAD OF EVIL-DOING
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow
cold. (Matthew, 24:12)
The cruelty, terrorism, murders, assaults, cheating, drug use,
torture, alcoholism, robbery, resentment, rebellions and homosexuality
that characterizes our time has become excessively widespread.
Christian scripture says that this is a sign of the End Times:
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,
abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without
love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not
lovers of the good, ( 2 Timothy, 3:1-3)
When we look at the hadiths concerning the End Times, we read the
following of this process of rapid degeneration:
There will be years of deceit, in which a truthful person will be
disbelieved and a liar will be believed. (Ibn Kathir)
The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until murders will
increase. (Bukhari)
SIGNS IN THE SUN AND IN THE STARS
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars… (Luke, 21:25)
According to Christian scripture, this sign that will be seen in the
sun maybe the huge explosion that happenedin the 20th century. The
solar eclipse of August 11, 1999, was the last total eclipse of the
20th century. This was the first time that so many people had the
opportunity to witness an eclipse that lasted for so long. It is
interesting that Turkey was one of the countries where this eclipse
could be seen in its totality. It could be seen in 12 cities and 100
provinces from Bartin to Silopi. The words of our Prophet (may Allah
bless him and grant him peace) in the hadiths 'There will be a sign
from the sun.' may refer to this event. (Allah knows the truth).
All this shows that signs of the End Times are recorded in Islam and
in Christian scripture and there is the expectation of a savior and
Messiah. The End Times is a holy period in which religious morality
will govern the Earth, Islam will return to its essence and be widely
practiced under the leadership of Mahdi; it will also be a period in
which the Christian world will participate in this continual rule of
morality through the agency of Jesus (pbuh). This period will end
withthe coming of the Golden Age. In this regard, Christian scripture
says:
When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up yourheads,
because your redemption is drawing near. (Luke, 21:28)
In the Qur'an, Almighty Allah announces to all believers the reign of
this moral goodness:
Allah has promised thoseof you who believe and do right actions that
He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them
successors, and willfirmly establish for them their religion with
which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security.
"They worship Me, not associating anything with Me." Any who do not
believe after that, such people are deviators. (Surat an-Nur, 55)
predicted in the hadiths what would happen in the world during the End

"They worship Me, not associating anything with Me." Any who do not

The Relativity of Time Has Once Again Been Proved: Gravity Slows Down Time
How does gravity slow down time?
Does the speed of an object change the passage of time?
How has the relativity of time once again been proved in a study
published in Science magazine?
How does the Qur'an refer to time as a relative concept?
The Theory of Relativity revealed that there are different time zones
in space, dependent on velocity and position.
Time is a perception, justlike smell or touch or sight, and is a means
of comparing one moment with another. And just like other perceptions,
ittakes place in the brain and appears when various imaginary entities
within the brain are compared. For example, when we strikean object a
specific sound is given off. The same sound is given off when we hit
it again 5 minutes later. One imagines that there is anintervening
period between the first sound and the second and refers to that as
"time." But the fact is that when he hears the second sound, the first
is merely an illusion in his mind and exists solely within his memory.
One obtainsthe perception of time by comparing the moment in one's
memory with the present one. Were it not for that process of
comparison, there would be no perception of time.
Time Changes According to the Perceiver
The relativity of time canclearly be experienced indreams. Even if we
imagine that we have been dreaming for hours, they in fact take place
in just a few minutes or seconds. Almighty Allah refers to this in the
Qur'an in the story of the cave. According to the Qur'an, our Lord
kept a community of believers, the Companions of the Cave, in a
sleep-like statefor some 300 years. When He later woke them they
thought they had only been there for a very brief space of time and
were unable toestimate how long they had been asleep. This is revealed
as follows in the Qur'an:
" So We sealed their ears with sleep in the cave for a number of
years. Then We woke them up again so that we might see which of the
two groups would better calculate the time they had stayed there."
(Suratal-Kahf, 11-12)
" That was the situation when We woke them up so they could question
one another. One of them asked, 'How long have you been here?' They
replied, 'We have been here for a day or part of a day.' They said,
'Your Lord knows best how long you have beenhere. Send one of your
number into the city with this silver you have,so he can see which
food is purest and bring you some of it to eat. Buthe should go about
withcaution so that no one isaware of you," (Surat al-Kahf, 19)
This example from the Qur'an shows that our knowledge regarding the
passage of time is based on reference point that alters according to
the person perceiving them. The reason why a person says, "I am 30
years old" is that information pertaining to those 30 years has
accumulated inhis brain. Were it not forhis memory, he would be unable
to think of theintervening space of time and would live in a constant
single "moment." We think thattime is always moving forward because
our brains are used to such amethod of ordering events. The fact is,
however, that this is a decision made in the brain, and is therefore
completely relative.
Time Has Been Scientifically Proved to Be a Perception
It was Albert Einstein, regarded as the greatestphysicist of the 20th
century, who launched the theory of "the Relativity of Time."
According to this theory, known as the theory of relativity, time and
spaceare perceptions. To put it another way, there is no such thing as
absolute time. The way we perceive time and space depend on where we
are and how we are moving:
The Passage of Time Changes According to the Effect of Gravity :
The position of a body influences time. According to Einstein's theory
of relativity, time slows down under the effect of gravity.
Accordingly, the passengers on a plane flying somewhere with lower
gravity will age bya few extra nanosecondson every trip. The renowned
physicist Stephen Hawking describes this using the example of twins:
"Consider a pair of twins. Suppose that one twin goes to live on top
of a mountain while the other stays at sea level. The first twin would
age faster than the second. Thus, if they met again, one would be
older thanthe other." (Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time, p.54)
Einstein and Hawking's theory that that time passes more slowly near
centers of gravity has been proved by experiments conducted by
American scientists. A rocket at high altitude and two separate sites
with different gravitational fields wereselected for the first
experiment. Two very sensitive atomic clocks, capable of measuring
atomic vibrations were installed in these two locations, which had
different gravitational fields because of their different altitudes,
and the relative nature of time was confirmed. Thescope of the
experiment has today been increased and relativity has been observed
in daily life. Two atomic clocks hundreds of timesmore sensitive than
the original ones were used for this experiment. But it was not the
two sensitive atomic clocks that distinguished this experiment from
the earlier one. The difference in elevation between the two clocks
was a mere 33 cm.
According to the results of the experiment, published in the American
magazine Science on 24 September, being 33 cm higher, in other words
two steps higher, causes time to pass faster because pressure is
slightly reduced, and someone standing above these two steps ages
slightly faster. However, since Almighty Allah has not created
thisphenomenon in such a way as to eliminate the need for free will,
the difference is only one 90billionth of a second in alife span of 97
years, andis therefore imperceptible to anyone.
The conclusion from these scientific findings summarized very briefly
here is that the fact that time is a perception has once again been
confirmed. This fact was also revealed hundreds of years ago in the
Qur'an. The relevant verses read:
" ... A day with your Lord is equivalent to a thousand years in the
way you count." (Surat al-Hajj, 47)
" He directs the whole affair from heaven to earth. Then it will again
ascend to Him on a Day whose length is a thousand years by the way you
measure." (Surat as-Sajda)
" The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a day whose length is
fifty thousand years." (Surat al-Ma'arij, 4)
The Velocity of an ObjectAffects the Passage of Time :
Time passes faster or slower depending on the velocity of an object
and its position (proximity to center of gravity). The more an object
accelerates (in proximity to the center of gravity), the slower the
effect of time on it. In other words, time contracts as velocity
increases; it passes more slowly, as if approachinga "stop" point. We
can clarify this with another example from Einstein. One of two twins
of the same age stays on Earth while the other sets off on a space
voyage at a speed approaching that of light. When the person who goes
into space returns, his twin will be older than he is. The reason is
that time passes more slowly for the twin who travels at high speed in
space. Thisconclusion that Einstein arrived at in the 1900s has been
confirmed by aNASA-supported project.
NASA confirmed Einstein's claim that large object such as the Earth
bend time and space as they revolve around their own axes by taking
measurementsusing two satellites orbiting the Earth. At theend of the
study, the measurements performed showed an annual 2-meter deviation
in the direction of the Earth's movement of the satellites' orbit
around it. In other words, the satellites were being propelled 2
meters outward off their orbits. This is in 99% agreementwith
Einstein's calculations regarding the interface of time andspace.
The varying effect of an object's velocity on the passage of time
revealedby the NASA satellites hasalso been determined in daily life
by NASA researchers. It appears that when one travels faster than 32
km an hour, time passes more slowly.
The scientific experiments in question prove that we can never know
how or even if time passes. That, in turn, shows that time has no
absolute reality, that it is simply a perception. This fact,
corroborated by modernscience, that time is simply a psychological
perception and that it can be perceived differently depending on
events, location and prevailing conditions, is revealed thus in the
Qur'an:
" On the Day He calls you,you will respond by praising Him and think
that you have only tarried a very short time." (Surat al-Isra', 52)
Time Is a Perception
Let us imagine we are sitting in a room specially designed to have
just one window, and that we are spending a specific length of time
there. There is a clock by whichwe can see time passing. We can also
see the Sun rise and set periodically from that window. When asked,
after a few days, how long we have been in that room, the answer we
give will be acalculation based on information acquired from looking
at the clockand on how many times the Sun has risen and set. For
example, we calculate we have been in the room for three days. But if
the person who put us in the room says, "You have actually been here
for two days,"and then tells us that theSun we saw from the window was
actually created artificially and that the clock in the room had been
specially designed to run fast, then our earlier calculation will be
meaningless. This example also shows that our information regarding
the passage of time is based on reference points themselves based on
perception.
Since all events appear to take place in a specific order, we think
that time always moves forward. For example, a skier always skis
downward on a mountain, not upward, or a drop of water always flows
down a window and not up. Theskier's state at the bottom of the run is
the future, and that at the top of the mountain is the past. But if
all the information in our memories began to be played backward, like
rewinding a film, then the past would be his state at the bottom of
the run, and the future would be the condition applying before he sets
off.
Almighty Allah Is Unfettered by Time and Space. Human Beings AreBound
by Time and Space Because They Are Weak
Time and space are not absolute concepts, but rather ones with
beginnings and that were created out of nothing by Allah. It has been
scientifically proved that time is a relative concept, that it is not
fixed and unchanging in the way that materialists believed for
hundreds ofyears, and that it is a variable form of perception. In
this way, it has totally refuted the materialist claim of "absolute
time and an eternal universe."
Almighty Allah created the "moment" in an infinitely brief moment,
together with an eternalpast and infinite future. Time was created
subsequently, for humanbeings. Allah, Who created time and space, is
of course unfettered by them. Allah determined every moment of time
within timelessness, and then created it. That is the essence of the
fact of "destiny" that materialists are so at a loss to understand.
Everything that for us has happened in the past or will happen in the
future, is included within the omniscience and dominion of Allah, Who
is unfettered by time and Who created it out of nothing.
Modern science also confirms truths that our Lord revealed in the
Qur'an 1400 years ago and that believers have believed in with all
their hearts. This once again bears witness that the Qur'an is the
word of Allah.
"... They said, 'Glory be toYou! We have no knowledge except what You
have taught us. You are the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.'" (Surat
al-Baqara, 32)

by NASA researchers.

Fasting on the last Wednesday of Safar
Question :
Please can you enlighten me on the importance of fasting and special
Nawafil on the last Wednesday of Safar?
Fatwa :
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
isHis Slave and Messenger.
It is not permissible to exclusively designate the last Wednesday of
the month of Safar for fasting or for any particular supererogatory
acts of worship as this is allocating a particular actof worship to a
particulartime without religious evidence, and this is an innovation.
Allaah Knows best.

The Explanation of SooratAl-Bayyinah (Clear Evidence) - II
The text of the chapter [from verse 6 to the end]
6. Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and
the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally
therein. Those are the worst of creatures.
7. Indeed, they who have believedand done righteous deeds — those are
the best of creatures.
8. Their reward with Allaah will be gardens of perpetual residence
beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allaah
being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has
feared hisLord.
Explanation
Allaah, the Most High, informs us about the end of the unjust
rejecters of faith from among thePeople of the Book and the
polytheists who oppose the revealed Books of Allaah and the Prophets,
may Allaah exalt their mention, sent by Him, saying thatthey (the
rejecters) will be thrown into the Hell-fire on the Day of
Resurrection, to abide therein for all eternity. They will not be able
to evade it, nor will they be removed from it.
" Those are the worst of creatures. "
That is, the most despised of Allaah's creatures. Then He, Most High,
informs us concerning those who are pious, fear Allaah and are true
Believers, confirmingby their words and deeds that they are the best
of created beings. Abu Hurayrah and a number of Muslim scholars have
concluded from this verse that the true believer is superior to the
angels, who are part of thecreation .
" Their reward with Allaah " that is, on the Day of Resurrection .
" Gardens of Eden under which rivers flow; they will dwell therein
forever ." That is, without interruption, without ceasing .
" Allaah being pleased with them-" That is, Allaah's Pleasure is
better and more sublime than the lasting felicity, which they aregiven
.
" and they with Him. " That is, with the infinite Grace bestowed on
them by Him .
" That is for whoever has feared his Lord. "
That is, this reward can be achieved by him who fears Allaah and is
devout with a sincere devotion, who worships Him always as if he was
seeing Him, knowing that, though he does not see his Lord, his Lord
sees him. It is reported on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that he
said: "The Messenger of Allaah said:
"Shall I not inform you about the best of creation?" They (the
audience) said: "Certainly, O, Messenger of Allaah!" He said: "A man
who takes the reins of his horse (and rides it) in the Way of Allaah
(in Jihaad) and whenever he hears the call of one in distress, he
rides to his rescue. Shall I not inform you of the best of creation?"
They said: "Certainly,O, Messenger of Allaah!" He said: "A man who
(even when he) is busy with his sheep, is steadfast in prayer and pays
Zakaah (alms). Shall I not inform you about the worst of creation?"
They said:"Certainly, O, Messenger of Allaah!" He said: "The one who
asks in Allaah's Name, but does not give in His Name." [Imam Ahmad]
Maalik Ibn 'Amr Ibn Thaabit Al-Ansaari said: "When the Soorah (Quranic
chapter) " Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the
Scripture and the polytheists… " [Al-Bayyinah] was revealed, Archangel
Jibreel (Gabriel) said toProphet Muhammad : "O, Messenger of Allaah!
Verily, your Lord orders you to recite this Soorah to Ubayy (one of
the prominent reciters and scribes ofthe Noble Quran among the
Companions)." So, the Messenger of Allaah said to Ubayy : "Verily,
Jibreel has ordered me to make you recite this Soorah." Ubayy said:
"Then I was mentioned, O, Messenger of Allaah?" He said: "Yes." Then
Ubayy wept. [Imaams Ahmad, Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Imaams At-Tirmithi and An-Nasa'ee have reported something similar.
This Soorah was read to Ubayy Ibn Ka'b merely to strengthen him in his
faith, to convey the Message and as a reminder, not for Ubayy to learn
something which he did not know or to make him memorize it - and
Allaah knows best.

The Explanation of SooratAl-Bayyinah (Clear Evidence) – I
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
1. Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the
polytheists were not to be parted [from disbelief] until therecame to
them clear evidence —
2. A Messenger from Allaah, reciting purified scriptures.
3. Within which are correct writings [i.e. rulings and laws].
4. Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until
after there had come to them clear evidence.
5. And they were not commanded except to worship Allaah, [being]
sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and toestablish prayer
and to give Zakaah (alms). And that is the correct religion.
As for the People of the Scripture they are the Jews and Christians,
while the polytheists are those who worship idols and fire from
amongst the Arabs and the non-Arabs. Mujaahid said: " were not to be
parted " means that they (the People of the Scripture) will not cease
until the Clear Evidence came to them. What the 'Clear Evidence' is,
is explained by the following verse (which means): " A Messenger from
Allaah, reciting purified scriptures ", That is, Muhammad, sallAllaahu
alayhi wa sallam, and that which he recites from the Noble Quran,
which was copied by the Heavenly Host (i.e., the angels), on purified
sheets, as in the Words of Allaah (which mean) :
"[It is recorded] in honored sheets, exalted and purified, [carried]
by the hands of messenger-angels, noble and dutiful. " [Quran
80:13-16]
" Within which are correct writings [i.e., rulings and laws] ."
Ibn Jareer said: "It means that amongst the purified scriptures are
Scriptures from theBooks of Allaah, of inestimable value, full of
justice, perfectly correct, without any error, because they are from
Allaah, theAlmighty, the All-Powerful."
Qataadah said: " A Messengerfrom Allaah, reciting purified scriptures
" means that the Quranis mentioned with the best description and that
Allaah extolsit in the most laudatory terms."
Ibn Zayd said, concerning theverse (which means): " Within which are
correct writings " : "It means correct and fair. I say: The Words of
Him, the Most High: " Nor did those who were given the Scripture
become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence " are
like His Words (which mean) : " And do not be like the ones who became
divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And
those will have a great punishment ." [Quran 3: 105] Thatis, the
communities (the People of the Books) before us, after Allaah, the
Exalted, revealed to them proofs and clear signs, became divided and
disputed amongst themselves as to what was required of them by Allaah,
the Most High, in their revealed books. They became involved in major
differences as is made clear by the Hadeeth (narration) in which the
Prophet, sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam, said: "Verily, theJews are
divided into seventy-onedifferent sects, and verily, the Christians
are divided into seventy-two sects, and verily, my community will be
divided into seventy-three different sects - all of whom will be in
the Hell-Fire except one." His Companions asked: "And who are they, O,
Messenger of Allaah?" He, sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam, replied:
"Those who follow the path of me and my Companions ."
And they were not commanded except to worship Allaah, [being] sincere
to Him in religion, inclining to truth… " This is like Allaah's Words
(which mean) : "And We sent not before you any messenger except that
We revealed to him that, there is no deity except Me, so worship Me. "
[Quran 21: 25] For this reason, Allaah Says (which means): " inclining
to truth " that is, professing and practicing the True Religion
(Islamic Monotheism) without associatingany partners with Allaah, as
in HisWords (which mean) : "And We certainly sent into every nation a
messenger, [saying] 'Worship Allaah and avoid false deities.' " [Quran
16: 36]
" and to establish prayer " - whichis the most noble of all physical
activities .
"and to give Zakaah (alms) " - which is to be charitable towardsthe
poor and the needy .
" And that is the correct religion ."
That is the True, the Correct, and the Just Faith - to belong to the
most upright, religious community - a moderate community. Many
scholars, including Az-Zuhri and Ash-Shaafi'i have concluded from this
verse that true faith must include action (not just belief in the
heart), and for this reason, Allaah, the Exalted, Says (what means):
"And they were not commanded except to worship Allaah, [being] sincere
to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to
give Zakaah (alms). And that is the correct religion . "

Jumma Prayers - , Why is Friday singled out for great importance?.
I want to know why Friday Prayer is important and Different then other ?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, chose Friday to be the best of
days before Him, and He singled it out for major events and great
qualities, which are the reason why Muslims are obliged to venerate
this day and take it as one oftheir Eids or festivals in which Allah
has prescribed rituals that He has not prescribed for other days.
On our website we have previously quoted a great deal of evidence
tosupport this view, whichyou can see in the answers to the
followingquestions: 9211 , 12309 and 13692
Secondly:
Moreover, Jumu'ah prayer has a particular virtue and great qualities
through the barakah (blessing) of this great day.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
Jumu'ah prayer is singled out from among all the other obligatory
prayers for having particular characteristicsthat are not found in
other prayers, including the fact that it is offered in congregation,
has a minimum number of worshippers required in order for it to be
valid, the iqaamah is a condition of its being valid, one must not be
travelling in order for it to be obligatory, and therecitation is done
out loud.
There is an emphasis on its imortance the like of which is not
mentioned for other prayers except 'Asr prayer. In the four Sunans it
is narrated in the hadeeth of Abu'l-Ja'dad-Dumari – who was a
Companion – that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah
be upon him) said: "Whoever misses three Jumu'ahs out of heedlessness,
Allah will place a seal on his heart."
End quote from Zaad al-Ma'aad, 1/384-385.
The Prophet's Sunnah also singles out Jumu'ah prayer by encouraging
believers to do ghusl for it and to wear perfume (for men only). It is
also strongly encouraged to come early for the prayer and there is a
great deal of reward for walking to the prayer. Concerning these
specialcharacteristics, Sa'eed ibn Mansoor narrated from Na'eem ibn
'Abdullah al-Mujammir that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased
with him) issuedinstructions that the mosque of Madinah be perfumed
with incense every Friday at midday, as was narrated by Ibn al-Qayyim
in Zaad al-Ma'aad, 1/370.
Thirdly:
The main reason for venerating Friday prayeris because of the divine
decree that singled out this prayer and this day for special virtues.
This isone of the manifestations of Allah's Lordship (ruboobiyyah), as
He alone singles out for veneration whateverHe Wills of His creation
and whatever times and places He chooses. He is the One Who does
whatever He wills for reasons that He, may He be glorified, knows.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, is the only One Who has the
power to create and to choose from among His creation. Allah, may He
be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): "And your Lord
creates whatsoever He wills and chooses" [al-Qasas 28:68]. If you
ponder this creation, you will realize that this choosing and singling
out are proof of His Lordship and Oneness, and of the perfection of
His wisdom, knowledge and might; that He is Allah, besides Whom there
is no other god, and He has no partner who can create as He creates,
or choose as He chooses, or control as Hecontrols. This choice,
control and singling out,the effects of which are evident in this
world, are among the greatest signs of His Lordship andthe greatest
testimony to His Oneness, the perfection of His attributes and the
truthfulness of His Messengers.
End quote from Zaad al-Ma'aad, 1/40-43
Al-'Allaamah Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) also stated
that this singling out and choice are indicative of the inherent
virtue of the thing chosen, for which Allah blessed this time. By His
knowledge and wisdom, Allah may grantto a certain place, time or
person that which qualifies it to be chosen by Allah and favoured
above others.
He (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
This concept may not be understood by the one who regards all
individuals, deeds, times and places as equal, and claims that there
is nothing inherent that makes one thing better than another, and that
precedence is given to some things over others for no reason. This
view is invalid for more than forty reasons that I have listed
elsewhere. It is sufficient, in order to understand the falsenessof
this view and how corrupt it is, to note that Allah, may He be
glorified and exalted, refuted this false view when He said
(interpretation of the meaning):
"And when there comes to them a sign (from Allah) they say: 'We shall
not believe until we receive the like of that which the Messengers
ofAllah had received.' Allahknows best with whom to place His Message"
[al-An'aam 6:124].
"Allah knows best with whom to place His Message" means: not everyone
is qualified or fit to convey His Message; rather the Message has
those who are suited to conveying it and it cannot befit anybut these
people; Allah knows better than you who these people are. If all
individuals were equal -- as these people claim -- there could
havebeen no argument against them in this verse.
Similarly, Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Thus We have tried some of them with others, that they might say: 'Is
it these (poor believers) that Allah has favoured from amongst us?'
Does not Allah knowbest those who are grateful?"
[al-An'aam 6:53].
What is meant is: Allah knows best who will give thanks for His
blessings, so He singles them out for His bounty from among those who
will not be grateful to Him. Not everyone is fit to thank Him or to
receive His blessings andbe singled out for this honour. Those
individuals and places and so on that Allah chooses have some inherent
qualities that are not found in other people and places, and itis for
that reason that Allah chose them, gave them precedence because of
those virtues and selected them. This is His creation and His choice.
"And your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses" [al-Qasas
28:68]. Allah does not choose anything and give it precedence except
for a reason that led to it being singled out and given precedence.
Yes, He is the One Who created this reason, as He is the One Who
created it then chose it after creating it.
End quote from Zaad al-Ma'aad, 1/53-54
To sum up, all the characteristics of this great prayer are by the
grace of Allah, may He beglorified and exalted, to His slaves. He
chose it by His decree and singled it out for His bounty and
blessings, thus it attained this great importance in this worldand in
the Hereafter.
And Allah knows best.
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, chose Friday to be the best of
days before Him, and He singled it out for major events and great
qualities, which are the reason why Muslims are obliged to venerate

travelling in order for it to be obligatory, and therecitation is done
