Question
Is there a recommended Thikr tobe said after Tayammum (dry ablution),
just as we do after Wudhoo' (ablution)?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad
, is His Slave and Messenger.
There is no evidence that indicates that there is a certain Thikr to
be said after Tayammum. Nevertheless, the Shaafi'i scholars stated
that itis recommended to utter the two testimonies of faith. They
mentioned that as one of the Sunnahacts of Tayammum. Stating the
recommended acts in Tayammum, An-Nawawi a Shaafi'i scholar, said: "
The eleventh: it is recommended to follow Tayammum by uttering the two
testimonies of faith, just as we mentioned in Wudhoo' and Ghusl. "
Al-Khateeb Ash-Shirbeeni a Shaafi'i scholar, said: " Uttering the two
testimonies of faith means the Thikr that is recommended to be said
after Wudhoo': Ash-hadu anlaa 'ilaaha 'illa Allaah, wahdahu la
shareeka lah,wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasooluh (I bear
witness that there is no god worthy or worship but Allaah Alone, there
are no partners beside, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).
Muslim reported this Hadeeth on the authorityof 'Uqbah ibn 'Aamir
Al-Juhani from the Messenger of Allaah . "
As far as we know, only the Shaafi'i scholars stated this. Allaah
Knows best. - - ▓███▓ Translator:->
