Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle [SAWS] said,"Do not hate one
another, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert each
other, and O, Allah's worshipers! Be brothers. Lo! It is not
permissible for any Muslim to desert (not talk to) his brother
(Muslim) for more than three days." (Sahih Bukhari Book 73, Hadith91)

''Advise'':-:-Tells how to say Salam, the Islamic greeting, correctly:
A board that instructs how to say Salaam correctly Passing by one of
the lanes in theold part of town I spotted this board. The hoarding
installed in front of one of the oldest talkies in the city, tells how
to say the Salam [Salaam] correctly.
The scripts reads, 'Salam ka sahihtariiqa' or the 'Right way of
greeting the other person'.
It is 'Assalam-o-Alaikum' or 'Assalamu-Alaikum', not Salam Alaikum.
And the reply is Walaikum Assalam.
As the words are in Arabic, it is possible that people may not know
the exact pronunciation. I've commonly heard 'Assalam-Walaikum' also.
It can be a religious issue, just a linguistic exercise or an age-old
habit due to which people only greet others with the first half of the
sentence, as if they are in a hurry.
I haven't seen such boards and hence took the photograph. Apart from
Urdu, it also mentionsthe correct 'Salam' in devnagari [Hindi script].
As far as the meaning goes, it is 'Peace be upon you' and the reply is
'So be on you'.
For people with roots in Awadh [region around Lucknow], we were always
more accustomed with the 'secular' Adab [pronunciation: Aadaab]. It
still comes more natural to me. Just like Khuda Hafiz, which I am more
comfortable though most of my acquaintances now say Allah Hafiz.
The board is installed over a kebab seller's shop. It might get a new
banner or hoarding any day, as these days flex advertising banners
have almost pushed painters out of the job, as they can be easily be
preparedand put up. Hence, I thought, I should click the photo.
Enough words for a post now. Hope I haven't put you in a fix and you
are not thinking whether you spell out the Salam correctly/

How did the spread of Islam affect the World?
:->
The Muslim community expanded rapidly after the Prophet's death.
Within a few decades, the territory under Muslim rule had extended
onto three continents--Asia, Africa andEurope. Over the next few
centuries this Empire continued to expand and Islam gradually became
the chosen faith of the majority of its inhabitants. Among the reasons
for the rapid and peaceful spread of Islam was the simplicity of its
doctrine--Islam calls for faith in only One God worthy of worship.
Islam also repeatedly instructs human beings to use their powers of
intelligence and observation.
As Muslim civilization developed, it absorbed the heritage of ancient
civilizations like Egypt, Persia and Greece, whose learning was
preserved in the libraries and with the scholars of its cities. Some
Muslim scholars turned their attention to these centers of learning
and sought to acquaint themselves with the knowledge taught and
cultivated in them. They, therefore, set about with a concerted effort
to translate the philosophical and scientific works available to them,
not onlyfrom the Greek and Syriac languages (the languages of eastern
Christian scholars), but also from Pahlavi, the scholarly language of
pre-Islamic Persia, and even from Sanskrit, an ancient Indian
language./

The main causes of liver damage are~
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and
artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking
oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like
olive oil. Do not consume fried foodswhen you are tired, except if the
body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to theburden of liver.
Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store. We
should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to
adopt a good daily lifestyle and eatinghabits. Maintaining good eating
habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb
and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to 'schedule.'/

Health:-Eat slowly ‘to stave off diabetes’: - - Want to stave off diabetes?Eat slowly, says a new study.
Researchers at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences have
foundthat people who wolf down their food are two-and-a half times
morelikely to develop Type 2 diabetes than those who savour their
meal.
This is in line with previousresearch that found links between eating
quickly and obesity. But it is the first time that the speed at which
people eat has been identified as an independent risk factor for Type
2 diabetes.
For their study, the researchers compared 234 newly diagnosed Type 2
diabetes patients to 468 people free from the disease. The
participants were quizzed on diabetes risk factors and asked to rate
their eating speed. Body weights and measurements were also taken, the
'Daily Express' reported.
After adjusting for other factors including a family history of
diabetes, exercise habits and smoking, the researchers found those
with faster eating habits had a more than two times greater riskof
developing Type 2 diabetes.
Lead researcher Dr. Lina Radzeviciene said, "The prevalence of Type 2
diabetes is increasing globally and becoming a world pandemic. It's
important to identify modifiable risk factors that may help people
reduce their chances of developingthe disease."
Type 2 diabetes, which normally develops during middle age and is
associated with obesity or an unhealthy lifestyle, is a largely
preventable diseasethat can be controlled through a healthy diet and
exercise, even if an individual finds it a struggle to lose weight.
Dr. Radzeviciene's team now hopes to perform a larger study looking at
how types of food, calorie intake, exercise, and psychological and
emotional well-being affect diabetes risk factors.

Story - :-Just Another Muslim Couple My contribution to the Love, Inshallah blog . Cheesy? Corny? Saccharine? Hell yeah, this is a love story!
Walking down the street, you watch the stereotypical Muslim Arab
couple as they pass by you.
The husband, in the crisp white dishdasha that marks him as a
traditional Arab male, coupled with the starched patterned white
shemagh that is crowned by a stiff black egal .
The wife, covered in black from head to toe, ebony chiffon swirling
around her as her feet move, invisible.
His skin is the dusky brown of a Khaleeji Arab; his beard dark, wiry,
and clearly trying to grow longer. The hem of his dishdasha rises
above his ankles, signifying that he is of those troublesome religious
types. What are they called? Oh yes, Salafis.
Who knows what color the wife'sskin is? Poor woman, she probably can't
breathe behind that layered veil.
His eyes do not smile, his lips are pursed. Horrible man, he must
beangry at his wife for how the sleeve of her cloak pulled below her
wrists! Poor woman is probably going to get beaten tonight. If only
you could save her, liberate her from this oppressive society.
These poor, pathetic, backward Arab savages!
Except, they're not.
Oh, he is Arab, but she loves to describe herself as a Canadian of
washed-out desi descent, except she's not really desi because her
parents and grandparents were born and raised in South Africa. She was
raised in Canada her whole life and refuses to be anything but
Canadian.
He is awkward about his Arab heritage, half-Egyptian and half-Kuwaiti,
raised partly in Canada but never feeling at homethere or anywhere
else. She rolls her eyes and tells him that he is exotic, fawns over
his copper skin and high cheekbones, saying that he is her Orientalist
fantasy sheik. And at least the Egyptian genes ensure that their
daughter will be a great dancer, since she can't dance to save her
life.
He thinks that his beard is too long already, that it must be scaryto
others. She forbids him to cut it, or even trim it, because she loves
threading her fingers through his beard and tugging on the wiry curls.
His lips are pursed because she has just made a snarky, suggestive
comment, giggling behind her niqab , while he tries to stop himself
from laughing out loud and attracting attention.
Never able to resist the temptation to unnerve him, she breathily
whispers something that makes him blush furiously and duck his head in
embarrassment.
The only one to get hit when they get home is him, when she punches
him in the arm teasinglyand cracks a joke about her wearing the pants
in the house.
His dark, serious eyes sparkle when he sees her, even if he's not too
impressed with the shock of blue streaks in her hair.
When she fidgets in front of the mirror, comparing herself to the
voluptuous Arab women of his family, he tells her to stop being silly
and that he thinks she is the sexiest woman in the world. He waggles
his eyebrows at her, ridiculously although he's actuallyaiming for
suggestive, until she starts laughing and kisses him tomake him stop.
Of course, you can't see all that.
They are just another Muslim couple, walking down the street.
It is only after they walk by you that you see their hands join
together, fingers entwined.

Qur'an Ayath - Explanation :-“Say: ‘If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they backed up each other with help and support.’” (Quran 17:88)
Did the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), a mereshepherd and trader living
almost one and a half thousand years ago in the lonely deserts of
Arabia, realize the lasting significance of his actions? Did he
perceive the way hiswords and deeds would echo down the annals of
history?
Sure he did. He was a man of great wisdom, courage and natural
intelligence. Hedid not do things randomly, especially in matters of
worship. And hewas guided by Allah in these matters, so that his
actions could serve as an example for humanity untilthe Day of
Resurrection.

HADEES:->-
It was narrated that 'Abd-Allaah ibn 'Amr (may Allaah be pleased with
him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be
uponhim) said:
"Every deed has a period ofenthusiasm, and every period of enthusiasm
is followed by a slackening off. If a person's enthusiasm is for my
Sunnah, then he has succeeded, but whoever chooses something else when
he slackens off is doomed." Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh
(1/187); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 56.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him)
that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be uponhim) said:
"Every deed has a period ofenthusiasm, and every period of enthusiasm
is followed by a slackening off. If a person is moderate and avoids
extremes, then you may have hope for him, but if fingers are pointed
at him, then do not count him as anything." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi,
2453; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 57./

'' Dua '' :: - -
In the hadeeth of Umm Salamah (ra) by Shihr who said : 'I said to Umm
Salamah : 'O Mother of the Believers, what is the duaa'which the
Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) would supplicate the most
while in your presence? '
So she said : 'The frequent supplication of his was :
يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِى عَلَى دِينِكَ
"O, Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm on Your religion."
And also reported by Imaam Ahmad , from the hadeeth of 'Aisha
(radhiyaAllaahu anha): 'TheDua' which the Prophet (sallahAllaahu
alayhi wasallam) used to supplicate with a lot…' then she mentioned
it. [Silsilah as-Saheeha of Al-Imaam Al-Albaanee:Volume 5 Number 2091]

''Advise'':-:-Love Overcomes Hatred:
A few years later, when I was working in Fort Worth (in my early
20′s), there was a supervisor who usedto harrass me. He was abusive
toward everyone, but he seemed to have a particular dislike of me. I
don't know why. Well, I had been experimenting with meditation, and
had been reading a few books about spirituality. One day I decided
that I would go about my day trying to seethe soul within each person.
With each person I met, I would look past the exterior appearance,
past the external behaviors, andtry to perceive the soul inside.
It may sound silly or new-agey, but I noticed a difference
immediately. I was able to see things in people that I had not
previously perceived. In particular I saw a lot of fear. As I was
walking toward the cafeteria, I saw the abusive supervisor standing
near the door. I tried to forget everything I had experienced at his
hands, and look to his soul.I can't say exactly what I saw, but as I
approached him, he smiled at me. This was so unexpected and
incongruous, that I didn't know how to react and I continued on my way
without response.
After that day, I noticed a change. That supervisor and I certainly
did not become friends, but he stopped being hostile toward me. I
cannot really explain this, except to speculate that the act of
looking to a person's soul is a form of love, just as listening
deeply, without judgment, is an act of love. We are so unaccustomed
inthis life to people regarding us in a pure way, without judgment,
withoutresponding to our appearance or dress, without resentment for
past mistakes, that when someone does it, it's disarming. It
transforms.
This is the power of love.
I'm not suggesting that all oppression in this world can be overcome
with a look. There is evil in the world. There are times when we must
fight to defend our lives and our families. Certain entities areimmune
to the power of love (the current murderous regime in Syria is not
going to be overthrown with love). Buteven in the context of conflict,
love and faith are powerful. Some Russian soldiers in Chechnya
embraced Islam after beingcaptured by the mujahideen and treated with
kindness. Some soldiers in Egypt who wereordered to fire upon
civilians refused to do so after being embraced or kissed by
protesters.
The Prophet Muhammad (sws) himself was a reluctant warrior who
disliked fighting except as a last resort. He was one of the first
military leaders in history to lay down stringent rules for humane
warfare, prohibiting even the killing of animals or burning of crops.
He was a champion of faith, not fighting. His mission was one of
compassion. The most powerful tools in his arsenal were the Quran and
the testimony of "Laa ilaha il-Allah" (there is no God but Allah).
That is how he changed the world.

"... When the worshippers see that night has come over them, and they
see that the people of heedlessness have taken their place of rest on
their beds and returned to sleep, they rise up to stand before Allah in
happiness and bliss. They seek out glad-tidings... So they turn
towards the night with their bodies and their facestouch the earth.
The night comes to an end but the sweetness they find in recitation
does not come toan end and their bodies do not tire from prolonged
worship. Then morning comes for both of these two parties, the night
has left them either with a profit or with deceit. Those people (who
slept) wake up after they have tired of sleep and rest, and these
people (who prayed) wake up looking forward to the approach of another
night. How different these two groups are."/
