*- WHAT ISLAM SAYS -* - Islam is a religion of Mercy, Peace and Blessing. Its teachings emphasize kind hear tedness, help, sympathy, forgiveness, sacrifice, love and care.Qur’an, the Shari’ah and the life of our beloved Prophet (SAW) mirrors this attribute, and it should be reflected in the conduct of a Momin.Islam appreciates those who are kind to their fellow being, and dislikes them who are hard hearted, curt, and hypocrite.Recall that historical moment, when Prophet (SAW) entered Makkah as a conqueror. There was before him a multitude of surrendered enemies, former oppressors and persecutors, who had evicted the Muslims from their homes, deprived them of their belongings, humiliated and intimidated Prophet (SAW) hatched schemes for his murder and tortured and killed his companions. But Prophet (SAW) displayed his usual magnanimity, generosity, and kind heartedness by forgiving all of them and declaring general amnesty...Subhanallah. May Allah help us tailor our life according to the teachings of Islam. (Aameen)./-

Greeting Christians on the occasion of their festivals.Dought clear - ,

What is the ruling on greeting Christians on the occasion of their
festivals by saying Kul sanah wa antum tayyibeen (roughly equivalent
to "many happy returns"), wishingthem well and hoping that they will
be good, i.e., that they will not annoy us with regard to our
religion, and not with the aim of congratulating them on their shirk,
as some shaykhs think?.
Praise be to Allaah.
What is forbidden with regard to congratulatingthe Christians on the
occasion of their festivals is expressing joyto them, being overly
polite and showing approval of their actions, even if that is only
expressed outwardly without feeling it inwardly.
The prohibition concerns those who show any kind of participation or
approval, such as giving gifts, verbal greetings, taking time off
work, making food, going to places of leisure, and other customs of
celebration. Having any intention other than what is said (when
congratulating them) does not make it permissible. The outward
appearance of these actions is sufficientto say that it is prohibited.
It is well known that most of those who take a lenient attitude
towards such matters donot intend to join the Christians in their
shirk; rather what motivates them in some cases is showing politeness,
and in other cases it is shyness, but politeness with regard to
falsehoodis not permissible; ratherwhat is required is to denounce the
evil and strive to change it.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in
Majmoo' al-Fataawa (2/488):
It is not permissible for the Muslims to imitate them in any way that
is unique to their festivals, whether it be food, clothes, bathing,
lightingfires or refraining from usual work or worship, and so on. And
it is not permissible to give a feast or to exchange gifts or to sell
things thathelp them to celebrate their festivals, or to let children
and others play the games that are played on their festivals, or to
adorn oneself or put up decorations.
In general, (Muslims) are not allowed to single outthe festivals of
the kuffaar for any of these rituals or customs. Rather the day of
their festivals is just an ordinary day for the Muslims, and they
shouldnot single it out for any activity that is part of what the
kuffaar do on these days.
As for what the Muslims do deliberately, that wasregarded as makrooh
bya number of the earlier and later generations. Asfor singling out
(such days) for the things mentioned above, there is no dispute
concerningthat among the scholars;in fact some of the scholars are of
the view that the one who does these things is a kaafir, because it
involves venerating the symbols of kufr. And some of them said that
the one who slaughters a sheep on the day of their festival, it is as
if he slaughtered a pig.
'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'Aas said: The one who follows the tradition
of non-Muslimsand observes their Nawrooz and Mahrajaan(festivals), and
imitates them until he dies like that, will be gathered with them on
the Day of Resurrection.
Ameer al-Mu'mineen 'Umar ibn al-Khattaab, the Sahaabah and all
theimams of the Muslims stipulated that they should not celebrate
their festivals openly in the lands of the Muslims; rather they should
do that privately in their houses.
One of the early generations said concerning the verse in which Allah,
may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): "And those
who do not witness falsehood" [al-Furqaan 25:72]: (This refers to) the
festivals of the kuffaar; if that has to do with witnessing them, and
not actually doing anything, then how about doing things that are
unique to those festivals? It was narratedfrom the Prophet (blessings
and peace of Allah be upon him) in al-Musnad and as-Sunan that he
said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." According to another
version he said: "He is not one of us who imitates others." This is
ajayyid isnaad. If this is the case with regard to imitating them, and
if this has to do with customs, then how about imitating them in
matters that are more serious than that? The majority of imams regard
it as makrooh, either in the sense of it being prohibited or in the
sense of it being discouraged, to eat meatthat they slaughter at the
time of their festivalsand sacrifices, and they include that under the
heading of that which is sacrificed for something other than Allah and
thatwhich has been sacrificed on stone altars(for idols). Similarly
they also forbade helping them in their festivals bygiving gifts or
selling to them, and they said: It is not permissible for the Muslims
to sell to the Christians anything for the purpose of their festivals,
whether that be meat, blood or garments; they should not hire out any
mounts to them or help them with any of their religious affairs,
becausethat comes under the heading of venerating their shirk and
helping them in their kufr. Thosein positions of authority should
forbid the Muslims to do that, because Allah, may He beexalted, says
(interpretation of the meaning): "Help you oneanother in Al-Birr and
At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one
another in sin and transgression"[al-Maa'idah 5:2]. Moreover, it is
not permissible for the Muslim to help them in drinking alcohol by
pressing the juice and soon, so how about helping in that which is one
of the symbols of kufr?! If it is not permissible for him to help them
himself, then how about if he is the one who is actually doing that?!
End quote.
In several answers on our website we have discussed this matter and
explained the reason for the prohibition.

Ruling on celebrating successes or the return of one who has been away, if that is at the same time as Christmas,Dought clear - ,

Is it permissible to hold celebrations during the Christmas season,
but the intention behind thecelebration does not have anything to do
with Christmas at all; rather it just happens to be around the same
time?.
Praise be to Allaah.
There is nothing wrong with celebrating happy occasions such as
marriage, the birth of a child, the return of one who was away,
passing exams, getting a job andother regular matters, on condition
that that is done at the time it happens and is not repeated, because
if it is repeated it becomes an eid or festival, and it is not
prescribed for us Muslims to celebrate any festival other than Eid
al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Jumu'ah. It is not prescribed to celebrate
every year one's birthday or wedding anniversary or graduation from
university and the like.
It does not matter if the permissible celebrations happen at the time
of Christmas, because they have to do with the event which is the
reason for the celebration, and should be done when that event occurs.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about
having parties when completing the Qur'aan or on happy occasions such
as passing exams or returning from a trip. Is this regarded as
extravagance? I hope you can give a detailed answer concerning this.
May Allah reward you with good.
He replied:
There is nothing wrong with having parties when one who has beenaway
returns or when a student passes exams or when someone gets married
and the like, because people do that, not with the intention
ofworship, and it never occurs to them that they are doing this in
order to draw close to Allah. Rather they do that to express joy and
happiness for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon them of
achieving what they wanted. There is nothing wrong with these parties;
rather what there is concern about is that people maybe extravagant in
these parties, either by preparing too much food which is often more
than is necessary; or by inviting too many people, so they invite
hundreds of people to that celebration. Otherwise the basic principle
is that there is nothing wrong with celebrating happy occasions, but
that is notdone as an act of worship or seeking to draw close to
Allah, rather they are done to express joy and happiness. And Allah
knows best.
End quote from Fataawa Noor 'ala al-Darb.
It says in his Majmoo' Fataawa (9/376): The ruling on celebrating
children's birthdays:
It should be noted that everything that is taken as an "eid" and
repeatedevery week or every year, and is not prescribed in Islam, is
aninnovation (bid'ah). The evidence for that is that the Lawgiver
prescribed the 'aqeeqah for the newborn, and did not prescribe
anything after that. Taking these "eids" that are repeated every week
or every year means that they are likening them to Islamic festivals.
This is haraam and it is not permissible. There are no festivals in
Islam apart from the three prescribed festivals: Eid al-Fitr, Eid
al-Adha and the weekly "eid", which is Friday (Jumu'ah).
This does not come under the heading of customs and traditions,
because it is repeated. Hence when the Prophet(blessings and peace of
Allah be upon him) cameto Madeenah and found that the Ansaar had two
festivals which they usedto celebrate, he said: "Allah has given you
something better than them instead of them: Eid al-Adha and Eid
al-Fitr", even though these were part of their customs.

Files of your life

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in a
room. There were no distinguishing features save for the onewall
covered with small indexcard files. They were like the ones in
libraries that list titles byauthor or subject in alphabetical order.
But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly
endlessly in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew
near the wall of files, the first to catch myattention was one that
read "People I Have Liked". I opened it and began flipping through the
cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the
names written on each one.
And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.
This lifeless room with its small files was a crudecatalog system for
my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and
small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and
curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly
opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet
memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would
look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.
A file named "Friends" was next to one marked"Friends I Have
Betrayed". The titles ranged from the mundane to the outrightweird.
"Books I Have Read", "Lies I Have Told","Comfort I Have Given","Jokes
I Have Laughed At". Some were almost hilarious in their exactness:
"Things I've Yelled at My Brothers." Others I couldn't laugh at:
"Things I Have Done in My Anger", "Things I Have Muttered Under My
Breath at My Parents". I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.
Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than
I hoped.
I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could
it be possible that I had the time in my 30 years to write each of
these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed
thistruth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my
signature.
When I pulled out the file marked "Songs I Have Listened To", I
realized the files grew tocontain their contents. The cards were
packed tightly, and yet after twoor three yards, I hadn't found the
end of the file.I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of
music, but more by the vast amount of time I knew that file
represented.
When I came to a file marked "Lustful Thoughts", I felt a chill run
through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to
test its size, and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed
content. I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded.
An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: "No
one must eversee these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have
to destroy them!" In an insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size
didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burnthe cards. But as I took
itat one end and began pounding it on the floor,I could not dislodge a
single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find
itas strong as steel when I tried to tear it. Defeated and utterly
helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against
the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.
And then I saw it.
The title bore "People that I Have Taught AboutAllah". The handle was
brighter than those around it, newer, almostunused. I pulled on its
handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my
hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.
And then the tears came.I began to weep. Sobs sodeep that the hurt
started in my stomach and shook through me. Ifell on my knees and
cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all.
The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must
ever, ever know of this room.
I must lock it up and hide the key.

Islamic Stories - , Standing firm in salat after being hit by arrows

Four years after the Hijrah [emigration of thefollowers of Islam from
Makkah to Medinah], in the city of Medinah, the Muslims were still in
danger due to the Jewish tribe, the Banu an-Nadir, who broke their
contract with the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH=May Allah bless him and grant
him peace].
Then the community received news that sometribes from the desert of
Najd were about to attack. So, the Prophet of Islam [PBUH] raised over
four hundred Muslims in order to prevent them from attacking.
Arriving at Najd, they found that only women were present in the
houses; the men had taken refuge in the hills.
Some of the Nadj tribes regrouped and preparedthemselves for the
fight. The time of 'Asr [the afternoon prayer] came, and the Muslims
divided in two, as it was revealed, and each group prayed after the
other. The ennemy, seeing the discipline among Muslims felt uneasiness
and fear. They did not attack. So, the Muslims went back to Medinah.
The Prophet of Allah [PBUH] asked:
"Who will be our guard tonight?" Two men immediatly rose: Abbad ibn
Bishr and Ammar ibnYasir. Abbad saw that Ammar was tired and asked
him: "What part ofthe night do you wish tosleep, the first or the
second?" "The first part,"said Ammar.
The night was serene. Everything seemed peaceful. Abbad decidedto
spend the night in Ibadah [acts of worship] while his companion was
asleep, and began reciting the Qur'an. Abbad soon stood and faced the
Qiblah in orderto perform Salaat [voluntary prayer]. He began reciting
Surah al-Kahf of one hundred and ten verses which explains the virtues
of faith, truth and patience and the passing of time.
While he was absorbed in recitation and in thought, an ennemy came
from the mountains of Najd and saw him vulnerable. The man drew his
bow and thew an arrow towards Abbad. Calmly, Abbad pulled the arrow
out and continued his meditation. The ennemy shot a second, then a
third arrow. Abbad pulled them out one by one, and finished his
recitation. Weak and in pain, at last, he stretchedout his right hand
during his prostration and awoke his companion Ammar."Glory be to
Allah! Why didn't you wake me up when the first arrow reached you?"
"Reciting the verses of the Qur'an filled me with such wonders that I
felt repugnance to cut it short. I would have preferred death rather
than stopping right in the middle of it." Abbad did not die this day;
he died as a shahid [a martyr], at the battle of Yamamah. He fought so
vehemently that his wounds made him almost not recognizable. He was a
true believer.

How do we know Islam isthe truth?

Ans: 1- It is the only religion that holds Allah as One, Unique, and Perfect.
2- It is the only religion that believes in the sole worship of Allah,
not Jesus, not an idol, and not an angel, only Allah.
3- The Quran does not contain contradictions.
4- The Quran contains scientific facts, which are 1300 years ahead of
theirtime. The Quran, while revealed 1400 years ago contains
scientific facts, which are only now being discovered. It is not in
contradiction to science.
5- Allah has challenged the world to produce the like of the Quran.
And He says they won't be able to.
6- Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) wasthe most influential man in
history. In the book"The 100 most influential men in History", written
by non-Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was#1. Prophet
Jesus (peace be upon him) was #3. It should be noted that even the
Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) wasa prophet sent by Allah. Would
Allah allow a false prophet to be so successful? No. Even the Bible
refers to this in Deuteronomy 18:19. A false prophet would die!!! Yet
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not die till he completely
conveyed, and taught Allah's religion.
7- He had many prophecies, and all of his prophecies have come true,
or are still coming true.

About Islam

What is Islam?
Ans: Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed
through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's
population, Islam is both a religion and a completeway of life.
Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the
majority has nothing to do with the extremely grave events, which
havecome to be associated with their faith.

Hadees - , 70 hadith found in ' Prayer at Night (Tahajjud) ' of Sahih Bukhari.

Narrated Ibn Abbas: When the Prophet got upat night to offer the

222
Narrated Salim's father: In the life-time of the Prophet whosoever saw
a dream would narrate it to Allah's Apostle. I had a wish of seeing a
dream to narrate it to Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) I was a grown up boy
and used to sleep in the Mosque in the life-time of the Prophet. I saw
in the dream that two angels caught hold of me and took me to the Fire
which was built all roundlike a built well and had two poles in it and
the people in it were known to me. I started saying, "I seek refuge
with Allah from the Fire." Then I metanother angel who told me not to
be afraid. I narrated the dream to Hafsa who told it to Allah's
Apostle. The Prophet said, "Abdullah isa good man. I wish he prayed
Tahajjud." After that 'Abdullah (i.e. Salim'sfather) used to sleep but
a little at night.
223
Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Apostle used to offer eleven Rakat and that
was his prayer. He used to prolong the prostration to such an extent
that one could recite fifty verses (of the Quran) before he would lift
his head. He used to pray two Rakat (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and
then used to lie down on his right side tillthe call-maker came and
informed him about the prayer.
224
Narrated Jundab: The Prophet became sick and did not get up (for
Tahajjud prayer) for a night or two.
225
Narrated Jundab bin'Abdullah : Gabriel did not come to the Prophet
(for some time) and so one of the Quraish women said, "His Satan has
deserted him." So came the Divine Revelation: "By the forenoon And by
the night When it is still! YourLord (O Muhammad) has neither Forsaken
you Norhated you." (93.1-3)
226
Narrated Um Salama:One night the Prophet got up and said,
"SubhanAllah! How many afflictions Allah has revealed tonight and how
many treasures have been sent down (disclosed). Go and wake the
sleeping lady occupants of these dwellings up (for prayers), perhaps a
well-dressed in this world may be naked in the Hereafter."
227
Narrated 'Ali bin Abi Talib One night Allah's Apostle came to me and
Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet and asked,"Won't you pray (at
night)?" I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Our souls are in the hands of
Allah and if He wants us to get up He will make us get up." When I
said that, he left us without saying anything and I heard that he was
hitting his thigh and saying, "But man is more quarrelsomethan
anything." (18.54)
228
Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Apostle used to give up a good deed, although
he loved to do it, for fear that people might act on it and it might
be made compulsory for them. TheProphet never prayed the Duha prayer,
but I offer it.
229
Narrated 'Aisha, the mother of the faithful believers: One night
Allah's Apostle offered the prayer in the Mosque and the people
followed him. The next night he also offered the prayer and too many
people gathered. On the third and the fourth nights more people
gathered, but Allah's Apostle did not come out to them. In the morning
he said, "I saw what you were doing and nothing but the fear that it
(i.e. the prayer) might be enjoined on you, stopped me from comingto
you." And that happened in the month of Ramadan.
230
Narrated Al-Mughira:The Prophet used to stand (in the prayer) or pray
till both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked why (he offered such
an unbearable prayer) and he said,"should I not be a thankful slave."/

THE HORROR SPLAYED on my face as I stepped into the logwood house,
when I saw blood smeared on the doorstep. My heart racing ahead of me
at the turning of events.
I surveyed the outskirts of the forest, hoping I didn't have to go
into it just yet. I tiptoed into thebroken doorway, and stepped over
pieces of unidentified objects strewn across the living room.
It looked like this house had just been a victim from a wild tornado
storm. Though, the outside was still standing. What was once a native
American sanctuary, was now destroyed.
I followed the trail of blood, hoping, praying that it wasn't Derryn's
or Satchel's blood, and frowned when I heard a small husky voice
comingfrom the hall. I gasped when I saw the wheelchair flipped to one
side, on the floor. Wheels still spinning, but no one occupying it.
"Aretha! Derryn!"
No answer except for the echo of my own voice bouncing off the walls.
I shifted stray furniture aside that somehow survived the onslaught,
glass crunching under mycowgirl boots. I hissed when a stray nail
struck my palm, as I shifted what used to be the dining suite table
out of my way.
"God! It's a disaster." I said, speaking my thoughts out loud.
I frowned when I heard something move in my left peripheral. I
reluctantly followed the small whimpers coming from behind the ripped
up couch and gasped when I saw Aretha lying on her stomach in a pool
of blood.
I rushed to her aid without a second thought, careful not to jolt her
in fear I would domore damage to her, but then covered my mouth when
I'd seen the rest of her body had been ripped into. The disfigurement
made me wonder how she was even still alive after something grotesque
looking like some animal had taken a bite out of her for the road. I
gulpedat the horrific scene, as Aretha's glassy eyes stared up at me
with a desperate plea.
"Please, save my daughter." She choked out, before her eyes glazed
over and the lights went out.
They were the last words she uttered, as I witnessed right before my
eyes, another death.
I swiftly wiped at my eyes, and draped a throwblanket over her, in
case Derryn happened to wander back in the house.
I shakily stumbled to my feet, checking the house for Derryn, or
Satchel, butknew it was a lost cause.
What I wasn't expecting was finding a huge wolf lying on the kitchen
floor. I smelt the wolf, and Sheeba's scent over powered my senses.
Her wolf form was a light gray, with little specks of brown spotted on
her back.
I nudged her with my foot, careful not to stand too close, to see if
she was dead, and a huff sounded. She was barely breathing.
Her big brown eyes fell sad, and I couldn't help but fell a loss for her death.
My eyes roamed her bodyand paused at the pitchfork stuck into her
stomach. Aretha and Sheeba must've fought each other, and both died
fighting.
I knew she was dead as soon as her last huff sounded from her muzzle.
She was gone.
A scream sounded in the distance, muffled by the pine trees. I was
about torun into the forest, but thought better of it, sinceI would be
defenseless against a pack of wolves if I went out in human form.
Without so much as another thought, I stripped right in the entryway,
until my bare skin was exposed to the weather. I shivered a little,
and fell to my knees. Forcing my body to change.
I'd only ever done this once before, and that was out of my control.
Satchel had yet to tell me how to force my change. In fact, I'm not so
sure it was possible, but here's to trying. I squeezed my eyes shut,
picturing my wolf.
How white my fur was, how yellow my eyes were. I pictured it all,
andcleared my head of any human thoughts, until the last thought was
of Satchel and his sad expression of having to lose a mother, a
father, and maybe a little sister.
Come on! Change you piece of-
The first shudders escaped my body, and it was happening. Adrenaline
running through my veins, like something crawling under my skin.
The sweat followed, and Iwas shaking uncontrollably. Three minutes of
cracking bones, pain, and torture, I went through.
Until a fine trail of creamy white fur sprouted out of my limbs, and I
yelped arching my back, nose and mouth in the air as the last of my
transition passed, and myface extended into a muzzle.
My gums tingled as my teeth barred out of them.
Finally, I was huffing and puffing through my muzzle. The familiar
colorof brown on my left paw was now visible, and before I had any
thoughts to register, I was devoured by the forest, my ears perking up
every so often when I heard Derryn's scream.
It was louder in my wolf form, and it pointed me into my next
direction. It was also a good sign thatshe was still alive.
Dirt and gravel lifted up off the ground as I beat my paws into the
earth ata deadly run.
It felt good this time, I was attuned to my wolf now that it was a familiarity.
Not some foreign exchange anymore, like the last time. Just me, my
wolf and the forest. I passed another dead wolf on my travels, and I
knew it was Burrick. The wolf that was a sleaze, and had a rats tail.
Good riddance, I'd say.
I heard the howling, and the screaming closer now, and the minute I
saw commotion in the clearing.
I instantly knew Satchel was near, just by scent alone. The black and
grayblur in front of me confirmed my earlier suspicions as Satchel and
Trench fought each otherlike two rabid dogs fighting over food.
Both matched each other's height and stature along with skill. There
was a lot of howling, a lot of grunting, and lot of blood sprouting.
As soon as I was visible, I noticed Cairo had a struggling girl under
his brown and white paws. Derryn's red curls were covered in blood,
and dirt and I could smell it from here.
Let her go! I snarled, barring my teeth at the brown wolf Cairo.
His evil brown eyes challenged me to a dual, but he actually stopped
what he was doing for a second my voice soundedin his head. I stalked
forward, and paused when he lowered his jaws to Derryn's throat.
She's mine, for the taking. Cairo informed, ashe let out a potent
scent over her throat. Something similar to what Trench had done tome
all those weeks ago. I
realized he was marking her, and I couldn't do nothing as of yet, for
fearof accidently hurting Derryn. All I could do was glare, and snarl.
She's just a kid! I hissed.
His eyes were on me, but his jaws still enclosed around Derryns
throat. She'd stopped struggling, but I knew she was still alive from
the faint pitterpatter of her pulse sounding in my ears.
Not for long she isn't. He said, as more of his scent drifted into her
open mouth. I growled.
Stop! I growled, and to my astonishment. He did. As soon as his jaws
retreated from her throat.
I pounced on him, shoving him off Derryn, and landing on his stomach.
He was on all fours in a blink of an eye.I snapped my jaws at him, but
he just huffed inannoyance.
Both of us stalking in a circle, eyeing each other with bloodlust. My
head snapped over to Satchel'svoice.
Order them to stop. I tilted my head. Me? Ordertwo Alpha males to stop
what they're doing.
You're their Alpha Female. Do it, they have no choice but to listen.
Satchel demanded. My head still reeling about what Satchel was saying.
I could tell he was out of breath, even if he was just sending me
thoughts, because the sound of him huffing andpuffing as he fought
Trench off his back. A sickening howl sounded as he'd just torn off
Trench's ear
Stop. I urged the wolves to back off, but nothing was happening. Maybe
Satchel had too much faith in me.
Look into their eyes, Willy. Satchel howled a second later, as Trench
tore at his leg.
Now, Willy. Do it! He demanded. That was all ittook to get me into action.
I glared at Cairo.
Let the girl go, all of you stop fighting! I order youto stop fighting
I growled.
As soon as I let those words pass my mind, a rumble of throats
sounded, and then a pack of wolves retreated, that was unexpected
followed in tow.
I blinked, when all muzzles turned to me, and one by one, all four
huge wolves lowered their heads in my direction. The commotion stopped
to a standstill, and all eyes were on me, as they lowered their
muzzles ontheir front paws.
Even Satchel was bowing his head toward me. I looked at him, pointedly
asking him what he was doing. He just kept his muzzle down. Wait what
the hell just happened here? Trench, however had just lowered his
eyes, and stalked forward.
Come, Snow White. You belong with us. I barred my teeth.
No. I snarled, biting my jaws in anger.
Satchel nodded, and his glowing eyes were tryingto send me a message.
Go. He said. I looked fromSatchel, and back at Trench. He wanted me to
go? But why?
Go Willy. It's the only way. He looked from me to his sister Derryn
that was lying unconscious onthe ground. My eyes fell sad.
That was enough to pull me out of my thoughts, and do what he said. I nodded.
Okay…I'll come, but the girl lives. Trench nodded toward an all too
pissed Cairo.
Let her up, Cairo. Cairo was reluctant enough and it looked as if he
wanted to tear my throat up because of it.
What astonished me was the fact that he listened to his brother, and
his eyes flittered toward Derryn lying helpless on the ground. He had
a look on his face that he was coming back for her.
They retreated, backing up into the brush, leaving Derryn lying on the
ground, while Satchelwent to her aid. I shot a panicked look his way,
but he didn't return it.
Somehow, the look in hiseyes made it seem like this was not an act to
distract them, it looked like he really wanted me to go.
I winced when a shot ricocheted through the forest, and one of the
wolves at the back was on it's side, with a wide bullet wound on its
leg.
A howl broke loose, until the second bullet was planted in its head.
I'd barely been introduced to that wolf, all I know is his name was
Kora, and he was their far guard that hardly ever slept. One of the
white and gray wolves that had made up Trench's pack.
And all heads turned to the direction of the sound of a twig cracking
in the distance, and a group of humans materialized in the clearing
with identical shot guns hoisted on their shoulders.
I noticed Grams instantly as the one leading the group, with a gun
pointed at each and every one of us.
"Move one inch, and I shoot." Grams steadied the gun in her hand that
was directed at Trench. His gun-metal gray eyes glowered at her, but
he made no move to step forward, or even blink.
One of the big burly guys had his gun pointed toward Satchel, and the
horror on his eyes when he saw Derryn lying unconscious on the ground.
The other men, had their guns pointed atCairo, but they seemed tohave
missed me. Maybe they hadn't noticed me yet?
Their human eyes were solely on the unconsciousgirl.
I could only imagine what that scene must have looked like in his
head, but I was silently hoping he wasn't dumb enough to pull that
trigger.
Grams thankfully orderedhim to hold fire. She really looked badass
withthat gun, but I couldn't help but feel sick to my stomach that she
was actually leading an army of poachers. Quite frankly, I didn't know
who had it worst. Her, or me.
"Move away from the girl, Black Wolf." She cocked her gun, to help
make her point come across. I tilted my head. She looked at him as if
she knew him.
Familiarity leaking out of her icy blue eyes. Satchel moved to the
side slowly, making no effort to startle the group. She spared me a
glance and frowned, though she didn't dwell on me, she was instantly
entranced from Satchel's wolf form.
Trench made a subtle movement, and all hell broke loose. Shots were
going off, and a blur of movements as all four of the male wolves,
dodged the bullets.
I was frozen in my spot not sure of what to do, until I saw everyone
had forgotten about Derryn.
They were all trying to dodge bullets, or dodge wolf bites, so I
ambled upto Derryn. I nudged her in the stomach, and she groaned.
I caught her top into my teeth, and dragged her backward, so that the
brush camouflaged us, until we were completelyswallowed up with the
pines.
As soon as we were a good distant away from all of the commotion, I
tucked her under a hedge so I could check if she had any wounds.
So far, most of the blood on her was Aretha's. I licked it off her,
cleaning her up so that her familiar face was recognizable.
None of the blood was hers. Thank God! I prodded her with my paw,
trying my best to wake her.
Derryn roused to consciousness. She blinked a couple of times, and
smiled when she sawme.
"Snow white?" She whispered. I burrowed my nose into her hands as a
comfort nod. She petted my fur, and her smile only got wider.
"Satchel was right; you look pretty as a wolf too." She sat up, wiping
grime and dirt off her face and hands, pulling leaves and twigs out of
her curls. Her head whipped around and looked toward the howling and
shots ringing out in the clearing. Her expression looked guarded, and
worried.
"Satchel, he might…" I shook my head, urging her to her feet. We had
to get out of the forest before daylight ended. She had her eyes still
on the far clearing, but I pulled her in the opposite
direction.
I took her to my estate, not wanting her to witness the horror that
was waiting for her at the logwood house.
I wasn't the best person to tell her about what happened to her
mother.God! I don't think I knew how to tell a seven year old that her
mother had died trying to protect her.
It was agonizing just thinking about it.
As soon as we were in the comfort of our house,I transformed back into
my human self and settled Derryn into the shower.
There were faint cuts andbruises on her stomach, but nothing too serious.
I refused to shower just yet, since I didn't want toleave Derryn out
of my sight.
That's when I decided to break the news to her about her mother. She
was shocked at first, but something about her expression was eerily
disturbing.
Like she accepted it, and it was just what happens in life. Not
something I expected from a seven year old to understand, but I guess
that just showed how much her mother and maybe Satchel had prepared
herfor.
Hours passed, and night time was nearing it's peak again, and I
noticedDerryn had been quiet for once. She usually had something to
say, even it was to say the weather was too hot or cold for her
liking, so I knew she was taking her grief a different way.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She shook her head, and just smiled.
It was a little fabricated I noticed.
"Daddy knew it would happen. We all knew it was going to happen." She
said, as I tucked her in my bed, and sat on theedge, just stroking her
hair back.
She looked somehow older now, the pigments of her green eyes shadowed,
and she looked a little taller than I remembered.
"Are you hungry?" I asked, but she just shook her head. Instead, she
asked me the one question I'd been wondering since we'd left the
forest.
"Where's Satchel?" My eyes fell sad, and met herhopeful ones. I wasn't
sure if I should promise her false hope, or not. So I told her the one
thing I knew of what Satchel would do. I pulled the covers up to her
chin.
"He'll try make his way home to you, Der." She smiled, and burrowed
her head into the pillow, fluttering her eyes closed.
"And to you." She said, and I sat there, watching her fall asleep.
I checked the locks all over the house, shoving furniture in the way
to help secure the entrance from intruders. I knew it wouldn't keep
out werewolves, but it wouldhelp me alert them beforehand.
I showered and found some old clothes in the musty drawers.
Right now, I didn't care what I looked like. I was just happy Derryn
was home. Safe, tucked away in my room. I pulled a throw blanket off
the couch and settled in the window seat. Keeping the window latched
shut.
I shuddered when I gazed up at the moon. As if it was calling me. I
ignored the feeling, and lay my head on the window. My breath making
white clouds form on the glass. Night time was a little colder, and I
frowned when I heard the gallop of hooves approaching.
I sat up straighter, and squinted my eyes when I saw a dark figure
visible in the distance.
A topless man appeared down below with a slump figure draped overhis
right shoulder. I gasped when Satchel's body was carelessly dumped on
the porch, and in seconds, the male figure who'd just left himthere
swung himself overthe black stallion and galloped away.
I rushed down the stairs, pushing the furniture outof the way, and
swung the door open. I slowed my steps when I saw Satchel. Lying
there, on the porch in a comatose state. Covered in blood and dirt,
and I screamed.
If there were anybody in near distance, they would have heard my pleas.
Derryn hadn't heard me, she'd only went to sleep minutes before, but
she slept like the dead.
There was no one. Out in the country with miles and miles until
civilization, I was all alone.
I rushed to Satchel's aid, searching for a pulse with my index and
forefinger at his neck. Barely, a slow pulse throbbed. His skin felt
colder.
I dragged him over the threshold, though little progress I made since
he was extremely heavy compared to my wiry frame. But I put all my
weight into it, hooking my arms under his armpits, tugging him until
he was in the living room.
I was sweating just from that, heaving a few breaths before I
scrambled together a pileof blankets and made a makeshift bed out of
them.
I was good at it, thanks to the grueling two weeks I'd stayed out in
the forest with the pack. Irolled Satchel over some of them and piled
more on top of him.
He was still so cold, I was afraid he'd catch hypothermia. So I did
theunthinkable, I stripped tomy underwear, and climbed on top of him.
Wrapping the blankets over top of us so that we were in our own little
cocoon, and lay on top ofhim. My body heat instantly warming him,
though his made me shiver a little. I just lay there, with my fingers
onhis neck, checking for a pulse. Still beating.
I sighed, and stayed like that for a while, until I was sweating from
his warmth. It must have been hours, as I lay on top of him. It wasn't
untilmy eyes felt heavy, that I knew I was about to fall to sleep.
I was exhausted. I fluttered my eyes closed, drifting off to sleep,
when I felt movement slice up the lower half of my body.
I frowned, shifting my head so I could see Satchel, and in the dim
lighting I could see his lids moving, while his hand started trailing
up the side of my leg and resting on the rump of my butt, he squeezed
it.
His eyes opened, so that his glassy green eyes were visible.
"So, this is how you get a girl to strip? On the brink of death."
Satchel drawled in my ear. His voice was huskier than usual, and it
sent my body buzzing like live wire.
I chuckled, and refrained from hitting him in the chest. Smiling that
he was okay.
"Just know it won't happen again, if you do."I was just glad he was
talking. He chuckled.
He pulled my chin up with his hand, gently forcing me to look up at him.
"I'll take my chances." He murmured, tugging me down as he brushed his
lips over mine.
The silky swipe of his kisses drew me deeper into his seductive
caresses, and I let out a small groan as hands felt like butterfly
kisses over my body.
"Willy, I need you." He pulled me closer, and rolled me over so that
he was half on top of me. Hepulled away briefly, and Ifrowned at the
instant loss of his touch.
His piercing eyes roamed my face and I flushed from embarrassment when
his eyes lowered on the rest of my body.
This was my first time I'veleft my body open to someone to stare at,
and I was self consciously aware that his eyes were full of curiosity.
I was consumed under his gaze, and I felt a little more alive every
time he licked his lips, and the instant he beamed a smile, I felt
beautiful under his intense stare.
"We don't have to…you know, if you don't-" I hushed him with
anotherkiss, before I discouragedmyself into wanting this.
"I need you too, Satchel."I whispered, pulling him down to me, lightly
biting his bottom lip, informing him that I really really wanted to
behere, and doing this withhim. He groaned into my mouth, and that was
enough for me to know that so did he.
We molded into each other, getting lost in the gentle caresses, the
heated moment, and the pure thought of losing my self to the one
personI knew I loved.

Visit -http://aydnajimudeen.blogspot.com/- What is meant by learning by heart the beautiful names of Allah, may He be exalted.

What is meant by the phrase "whoever learns them by heart will enter Paradise"?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Al-Bukhaari (2736) and Muslim (2677) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may
Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of
Allah be upon him) said: "Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred
lessone. Whoever learns them by heart will enter Paradise."
"Leaning by heart", which is mentioned in the hadeeth, implies the following:
1. Memorising them
2. Understanding theirmeaning
3. Acting in accordance with the meanings. So if a person knows
that He is One, he does not associate anything else with Him. If he
knows that He is the Provider (ar-Razzaaq), he does not seek provision
from anyone other than Him. If he knows that He is Most Merciful
(ar-Raheem), then he does acts of obedience and worship that are
themeans of attaining this mercy… and so on.
4. Calling upon Him by these names, as He, may He be glorified and
exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): "And (all) the Most
Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them' [al-A'raaf
7:180]. So he might say: O Most Merciful (Ya Rahmaan), have mercy on
me; O Oft-forgiving (Ya Ghafoor), forgive me; O Accepter of repentance
(Ya Tawwaab), accept my repentance, and so on.
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-'Uthaymeen said: Learning them by heart
does not mean writing them down on a piece of paper then repeating
them until one has memorised them. Rather what it means is:
Firstly: learning how to pronounce the names
Secondly: understandingtheir meanings.
Thirdly: worshipping Allah in accordance with what they signify,
whichinvolves two things:
(i) Calling upon Allah by them, because He, may He be
exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): "… so call on Him by
them" [al-A'raaf 7:180], to that they may become a means of attaining
whatyou seek, so choose a name that is appropriateto what you seek.
When asking for forgiveness, say: O Oft-forgiving (Ya Ghafoor),
forgive me. It is not appropriate to say:O You Who are stern in
punishment (Ya Shadeedal-'Iqaab), forgive me; rather that is more akin
to mockery. What you should say (if you call upon Allah by this
name)is: Save me from Your punishment.
(ii) In your acts ofworship you should do iswhat is
implied by these names. What is implied by the name ar-Raheem (Most
Merciful) is mercy, so do righteous deeds that will bring the mercyof
Allah. This is what is meant by learning them by heart; if it is done
likethis, then it deserves to be the price of admission to Paradise.
End quote.
Majmoo' Fataawa wa Rasaa'il Ibn 'Uthaymeen, 1/74
And Allah knows best.

Visit -http://aydnajimudeen.blogspot.com/- The meaning of the idea that Allaah is in heaven is that He is above the heaven.

I have read the many translations in english ofthe Holy Quran: Surat
Mulk Verses 16-17 dr mosin khans say Do you feel safe from the one who
is OVER the heaven, in both these ayats; however Yusaf Ali and
pickthal state IN the Heaven, and some of theurdu translations say IN
the heaven, im a little confused because my Aqeedah is that Allah
swtis above the heavens and his throne in a manner that fits his
majesty, and he does descend to the first heaven during the 3rd part
of the night. Also there interpretation of Istawa is fixed on the
throne, M.khans is rose over(in a manner that Suits my Lord). I would
realy appreciate it if you could explain this in detail, What does the
ayat really say and whenwas it revealed, I have read ibn kathir there
is not much detail for this ayat there. Your website has been very
helpful and i find it alhamdulilah very honest and frank, I have
previously suffered fromWaswasa, which i have recovered fom al praise
be to Allah(swt) through your sites ansers.
Praise be to Allaah.
With regard to the issue of Allaah being above His creation and rising
above His Throne, there are two important principles which must
beestablished and highlighted:
1.
Affirming that which Allaah has affirmed for Himself in His holy Book,
in which He describes Himself as being above all of His creation, and
rising above His Throne after creating the heavens and earth. This is
stated in clear and unambiguous verses of the Qur'aan. Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
"And to Allaah prostrate all that is in the heavens and all that is in
the earth, of the moving (living) creatures and the angels, and they
are not proud [i.e. they worship their Lord (Allaah) with humility].
50. They fear their Lord above them, and they dowhat they are commanded"
[al-Nahl 16:49-50]
"Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allaah), will not
cause the earth to sink with you, and then it should quake?
17. Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allaah),
will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how
(terrible) has been My Warning"
[al-Mulk 67:16-17]
And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do
you not trust me, when I am the trustee of the One Who is above the
heaven and the news of heaven comes to me morning and evening?"
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (4351) and Muslim (1064). And he also said:
"Show mercy to those who are on earth so that the One Who is in heaven
will show mercy to you." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (no. 1924) - he said
it is hasan saheeh. And he also said: "When Allaah created the
universe, he wrote in His Book, whichis with Him above the Throne: "My
mercy prevails over My wrath." Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3194) and
Muslim (2751).
See also the answers to questions no. 992 , 9564 , 11035 and 47048 .
2.
Nothing of Allaah's creation can encompass Him and He is not contained
within His creation. He, may He be glorified, has no need ofit. He is
above needing itand exalted be He aboveany of His creation
encompassing Him.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"No vision can grasp Him, but He grasps all vision. He is Al-Lateef
(the Most Subtle and Courteous), Well-Acquainted with allthings"
[al-An'aam 6:103]
"He (Allaah) knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world,
and what will happen tothem (in the Hereafter) but they will never
compass anything of His Knowledge"
[Ta-Ha 20:110]
From these two principles, Ahl al-Sunnahestablished that the ideaof
Allaah's being above His Throne and above all of His creation means
that He is above all creation, above the heaven, above Paradise, above
the Throne, and none of His creation encompasses Him, He does not need
any of them; rather He is their Creator and Sustainer. The texts which
describeAllaah as being in heaven mean that He is high above His
creation: they do not mean that the heaven surrounds and encompasses
Him. That is because heaven [sama'] here means high, and it is not
referring to the created heaven. Or it may be saidthat the proposition
in [fi] in this case means above ['ala], i.e., above the heaven.
It is proven that 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqeeq, the shaykh of
al-Bukhaari, said:
I said to 'Abd-Allaah ibn al-Mubaarak: How do weknow our Lord?
He said: [He is] in the seventh heaven above His Throne. According to
another version: [He is] above the seventh heaven above His Throne,
and we do not say as the Jahamiyyah do, that He is here on earth.
That was said to Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and he said: This is how we understand it.
Imam al-Dhahabi said, commenting on this report:
This is saheeh and proven from Thaabit ibn al-Mubaarak and Ahmad (may
Allaah be pleased with them both). The words 'in heaven' in another
report explain to you that what he meant by saying 'in heaven' was
'above the heaven', as in the other saheeh report which he wrote to
Yahya ibn Mansoor al-Faqeeh. End quote.
Al-'Arsh 2/189
We will quote here the words of the scholars which explained and
clarified this matter:
Al-Haafiz Ibn 'Abd al-Barr(may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
With regard to the words of Allaah (interpretation of the meaning):
"Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven [fi'l-sama']
(Allaah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, and then it
should quake" [al-Mulk 67:16], what it means is the One Who is above
the heaven, i.e., above the Throne. The word fi [in the phrase
fi'l-sama' (translated above as 'over the heaven'); fi literally means
'in'] may mean 'ala [above, over]. Haven't you seen the verse in which
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "So travel freely (O
Mushrikoon) forfour months (as you will)throughout the land
[fi'l-ard]" [al-Tawbah 9:2], meaning on the land; and the verse in
which He says (interpretation of the meaning): "and I will surely,
crucify you on the trunks of date palms [fi judhoo' al-nakhl]" [Ta-Ha
20:71]. End quote.
Al-Tamheed, 7/130
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The salaf, the imams andall the scholars of the Sunnah, when they say
that He is above the Throne, He is in heaven above all things, do not
mean that there is something which contains Him or surrounds Him, or
that He has a location, or thatthere is something that encompasses
Him. Exalted be He above that. Rather He is above all things, He has
no need of all things, and all things are in need of Him. He is above
all things, He is the One Who carries the Throne and its bearers by
His power and might. All created beings are in need of Him, but He has
no need of the Throne or of any created being.
With regard to what it says in the Qur'aan and Sunnah, "Do you feel
secure that He, Who is over the heaven [fi'l-sama']...?" [al-Mulk 67:16]
and so on, some people may understand the word heaven as being the
same as the created heaven on high or the Throne and what is beneath
it, so they say that His words "in heaven (fi'l-sama')" mean that He
is above the heaven, as the words"and I will surely, crucify you on
the trunks of date palms [fi judhoo' al-nakhl]" [Ta-Ha 20:71] mean on
the trunks of date palms, and the words "So travel freely (O
Mushrikoon -- see V.2:105) for four months (as you will) throughout the
land[ fi'l-ard]" [al-Tawbah 9:2] mean onthe land.
There is no need for that; rather the word sama' (often translated as
heaven) refers to what is up high, and does not apply to any specific
thing. So the words fi'l-sama' [translated above as 'in heaven'] apply
to that which is up high as opposed to being low ordown.
He is high and the highest, and He is the Highest of the high; there
is nothing beyond the Most High, may He beglorified and exalted. End
quote.
Majmoo' al-Fataawa (16/100-101)
To sum up: What you believe, that Allaah rose above His Throne, above
His heaven, above all of His creation, is what every believer must
believe. What you have read in the Tafseers referred to, that Allaah
is'in heaven' is also correct and is in accordance with what you
believe. It is mentioned in the Qur'aan and Sunnah, buton condition
that it be understood that the word heaven (sama') here means what is
on high, above, or that fi [in] may mean 'ala [above], as we have
explained above. If the mufassir intended some meaning other than
thatwhich we have mentioned, then his words are to be rejected. We
would appreciate it if you couldtell us exactly what he said so that
we may examine what is in it.
And Allaah knows best.

Please could you tell me what my name RAKIB means?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Al-Raqeeb is one of the beautiful names of Allaah.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

the verse "Surely, Allaah is Ever an All-Watcher [Raqeeb] over
you"[al-Nisa' 4:1]:
The name al-Raqeeb, when referring to Allaah, means: He is the one Who
is not inattentive to that whichHe has created in such a way that
would lead to it becoming imperfect and faulty. And it was said that
He is al-Haafiz from whom nothing is hidden with regard to His
creation. And he explained the verse "Surely, Allaah is Ever an
All-Watcher [Raqeeb] over you"[al-Nisa' 4:1] asmeaning that He knows
that which is secret and yet more hidden. As that is the case, He is
deserving of being feared and obeyed. End quote.

[Raqeeb] over all things"[al-Ahzaab 33:52]:
Allaah is the One Who watches over all things, meaning that which He
has permitted to you and has forbidden to you and all other things;
none of that is hidden from Him and He feels nofatigue in guarding and
preserving all of that. End quote.
Tafseer al-Tabari (20/304).
Al-Sa'di said:
i.e., He is watching over all things, He knows howthey will end and He
is controlling them in the most perfect, best and wisest of ways. End
quote.
Tafseer al-Sa'di (p. 670).
Secondly:
With regard to your name Rakib (Raqeeb), the meaning is not
muchdifferent from the meaning mentioned above, except that it is
inthe sense that is befitting to a human being.
So what it means is the one who watches over or supervises things.
That includes raqeeb al-jaysh (sergeant) who guards and protects,
andraqeeb al-qawm who guards the people.
See: Lisaan al-'Arab (1/424); al-Sihaah (1/264); Maqaayees al-Lughah

A newspaper reported a story of a man who was not on good terms with
his wife. One day, one of his evil friends gave him five rolled
cigarettes of hashish. After he finishedsmoking them, he left his
house and wandered the streets until he became tired and so he rented
a hotel room and spent thenight there. The next morning, he
surrenderedhimself to the police confessing to the murder of his
step-father. However, when they investigated the case, they discovered
that he had not killed anyone, rather, the effect of the drugs had
made him imagine the crime!
Substance abuse is a problem that affects not just the abusers but
also their families and friends.People with addictions are often
multiply diagnosed with mental and physical health problems, from
obsessivecompulsive disorder to HIV/AIDS, and substance abuse
counselors work closely with them to identify reasons for their
behavior and to take steps to change and remedy it.
Given the prevalence of drug abuse, everyone ought to have some
basicinformation about drug abuse and addiction.
What are drugs and whatare their types?
Drugs in general are plants or chemical substances that affect thebody
and mind of anyone who consumes them. It makes the body lethargic,
paralyzes its energy, slows the brain and is addictive to the extent
that if deprived from taking it, one becomes enraged and distressed,
and may even resort to stealing and killing.
Drugs are divided into three types:
Natural: These are plant products, taken and usedin the same form
withoutany variation, like opium, hashish, Qat and marijuana.
Chemical: These are manufactured drugs that have the same effect as
anaesthetic substances. They are more harmful than the mixed kind.
Some examples are L.S.D.,thinner, mescaline and others.
Mixed: These are prepared by mixing somenatural and chemical
materials, like morphine, heroin and cocaine.
Why do people take drugs?
There are many reasons why people take drugs:
Weakness of faith, and not turning to Allaah The Almighty during hardship.
Having superfluous wealth and spare time.
Bad company.
Satellite channels that broadcast and promote various immoral movies
and programs which glamorize and propagatethe use of drugs.
The use of tranquilizers, painkillers and sedatives without consulting
a physician, which results in addiction unknowingly.
The misconception that drugs increase sexual performance and potency,
while the truth is contrary to this.
The desire to be able to stay up late to work or study.
The notion that drugs arenot prohibited in Islam.
Imitation of some celebrities who use drugs.
Negligence by parents while raising the child.
There are many ways to cure this dangerous phenomenon:
Raising youth with strong religious values, sound morals and virtues.
Increasing public awareness regarding the danger of drugs and their
evil consequences on individuals and the community.
Keeping the door open for addicts who want to repent and stop the use
of drugs and help in theirrehabilitation because this could help them
refrain from this evil habit.
Filling free time with useful activities like reciting the Quran,
Thikr (mentioning and remembering Allaah The Almighty), and
occupyinghimself in permissible things like trade, agriculture, or
enrolling in study circles.
Becoming aware of the Islamic ruling regarding drugs, and that the
prohibition covers all types of drugs.
Knowing the harm and illeffects of drugs.
The media should launch campaigns aiming towards spreading awareness
regarding the danger of drugs.
Strict supervision on all media programs to prevent any program which
might encourage or glamorize, in any way,the use of drugs.
Government should prevent the plantation, import and smuggling of drugs.
Having severe punishments for those who are caught smuggling or
dealing in drugs.
Making more people aware of the ways to cure addiction so that
thefamily can help the addict.

Visit -http://aydnajimudeen.blogspot.com/- The qualities of those who love their Lord

Loving our Lord is mandatory upon each of His slaves since the Prophet
informed us that it is a characteristic of belief and a sign of
enjoying the sweetness of faith. Anas ibn Maalik narrated that the
Prophet said: "One who attains the following three things will taste
the sweetness of faith: To make Allaah and His Messenger more beloved
to himself than anything else; to love a person for no other reason
except for the sake of Allaah; and to hate to return to disbelief just
as much as he would hate to be thrown into fire." [Al-Bukhaari and
Muslim].
The question arises: If thelove of Allaah The Almighty is obligatory
and if it is one of the qualities of belief, where do we stand with
respectto this love? Are we amongst those who truly love Allaah The
Almighty? Are we amongst those whom Allaah The Almighty loves?
Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {"O you who believe! Whoever
from among you turns back from his religion (Islaam), Allaah will
bringa people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards
the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the way of
Allaah, and never fearing the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace
of Allaah whichHe bestows on whom He wills. And Allaah is
All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower."} ] Quran 3: 54].
This verse mentions four of their qualities:
First: Humble towards thebelievers; merciful and compassionate with
them, just as the Prophet was in his leniency, mercy and compassion
with the believers.
Second: Stern towards the disbelievers.
Third: Fighting in the way of Allaah The Almighty with their
souls, tongues and wealth, and therefore fulfilling this claim of love.
Fourth: Not fearing blame for the sake of Allaah The Almighty, which
is an indication of their sincere love.
Generally speaking, one can gain the love of Allaah The Almighty
through following His commands and refraining from disobeying Him, as
well as favouring obedience to Him over anything elseand seeking His
pleasure.
If you wish to be amongst those whom Allaah loves, you must have their
qualities which are mentioned in the Qur'aan:
To do good: {"And do good. Truly, Allaah loves the good-doers."} [Quran,2: 195]
To repent and purify themselves: {"Truly, Allaahloves those who turn
unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves"} [Quran,
2: 222].
To be are pious: {"Yes, whoever fulfils his pledge and fears Allaah
much; verily, then Allaah loves those who are the pious"} [Quran, 3:
76].
To be patient: {"But they never lost heart for that which did befall
them in Allaah's way, nor did theyweaken nor degrade themselves. And
Allaah loves the patient"} [Quran, 3: 146]
To rely on Allaah: {"Then when you have taken a decision, rely on
Allaah, certainly, Allaah loves those who rely on Him."} [Quran 3:
159]
To be just: {"And if you judge, judge with justice between them.
Verily, Allaah loves those who act justly."} [Quran, 3: 42].
To be sincere in Jihaad: {"Verily Allaah loves thosewho fight in His
Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure."} [Quran, 61:
4].
Ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned some actions that inspire the love of Allaah
The Almighty:
Reciting the Quran with attentiveness and pondering over its meanings.
Performing optional acts of worship after fulfillingthe obligatory ones.
Always remembering Allaah The Almighty in the heart, by the tongue and
deeds, because one will benefit proportional to the amount that he
remembers Allaah.
Favoring His love over any other love, particularly when your desires
become strong.
Striving hard to reach that which He loves.
Learning and pondering over His qualities and attributes, because the
one who learns and ponders over the qualities and attributes of Allaah
will certainly love Him due to this.
Thinking about His apparent and concealed favors and kindness.
Supplicating and appealing to Him during the last third of every
night, reciting His Book, standing with full servitude before Him
andbegging for His forgiveness.
Being around righteous people who sincerely love Allaah and learning
the best of what they say.

Visit -http://aydnajimudeen.blogspot.com/- Avoiding harms of the tongue

In today's times, most people tend to be careless about avoiding the
harms of the tongue, which are widespread among the people. The
following are some of the most common harms:
● Talking about what does not concern you: This is a common practice,
even though theProphet said: "A sign of a person's good practice of
Islam, is giving up that which does not concern one." The Prophet also
said: "The people with the most sins, are those who most frequently
indulge in conversations which do not concern them."
In order to set the limits for what does not concern you, you must ask
yourself the following questions:
- Is there any harm if you remain silent?
- Is it an issue that concerns you?
- Is it some information that is vital to your wellbeing and
which you need?
The matters that concern a person are those whichdirectly relate to
his life, or things which would prevent harm from afflicting him.
The reason behind the prevalence of such practices is when a person is
eager to know what he has no need for, prolonging the conversation is
a way of strengthening social relations with the one being talked to
or passing time in useless talks.
The way to cure this problem is by remembering that death could attack
you at any time, and you will questioned about your words. Time is
your capital in life, and silenceis a way to earn eternal joy and the
company of the purified consorts of Paradise. You should train
yourself to be silent gradually by avoiding idle chatting and gossip
as far as possible.
● Indulging in falsehood: This includes talking about women, and
sitting in gatherings which include drinking, conveying and
spreadinginnovations in the religion. All of this is prohibited
because it goes under the saying of the Prophet : "A man may utter a
word which pleases Allaah, which causes the pleasure of Allaah upon
him until theDay of Resurrection. A man may utter a word which
displeases Allaah, which causes the wrath of Allaah upon him until the
Day of Resurrection." [Ahmad]
● Disputing and arguing which we were prohibited to do, Allaah The
Almighty Says (what means): {"And of mankind there is he whose speech
may pleaseyou (O Muhammad ), in this worldly life, and he calls Allaah
to witness as to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most
quarrelsome of the opponents. And when he turns away (from you O
Muhammad ), his effort in the land is to make mischief therein and to
destroy the crops and thecattle, and Allaah likes not mischief"}
[Quran, 2: 204-205]
The Prophet said: "The most hated person to Allaah, is the one who
always disputes and starts enmity." [Al-Bukhaari]. A Muslim should
guard his tongue from saying what intimidates others or angers them,
and remember the saying of the Prophet : "I will guarantee a house in
Jannah (Paradise) for the one who ends an argument even if he was in
the right." [Abu Daawood].
● Cursing and badmouthing: The Prophet said: "A Muslim does not
badmouth, curse, nor is he spiteful." [Ahmad, At-Tirmithi].He also
said: "Reviling a Muslim isan act of outrage (moral depravity) and
fighting against him is an act of disbelief (Kufr)". [Al-Bukhaari and
Muslim] Unfortunately, this is common amongst the people nowadays,
especially amongst the youth. A Muslim is commanded to purify his
tongue from immoral words.
● Claiming eloquence: This is dispraised and it leads to boasting. The
Prophet said: "Those most hated and the farthest on the Day of
Resurrection are those with the worst manners, those who prattle,
boast and the arrogant." [At-Tirmithi].
