Fathwa, - Is It Permissible To Cry While Reciting The Qur'an?

Question:
Is it permissible to cry while reciting the Qur'an?
Answer:
Assalamu alaykum
In the name of Allah the Inspirer of truth.
It is completely permissible to cry when one is reciting the Qur'an, especially when relevant verses are recited. Many of the scholars and pious of this umma would become overwhelmed with tears when reciting the Qur'an.
It is not an option for those with a soft heart: they are overwhelmed by the power of Allah's words, and they weep in reverent fear of Him, especially at the mention of the punishment of the Hell-fire and the turmoil of the day of Judgment. This is the case whether one is reciting or listening to the Qur'an, and whether one is in Tarawih. Many scholars have considered weeping to be an etiquette of reciting the Qur'an (Fazail Qur'an).
May Allah grant us all the sweetness of the Qur'an and illuminate our hearts with it.

Fathwa, - Is one allowed to write Qur'anic calligraphy writing while on menstruation? &nbs

Question:
Is one allowed to write Qur'anic calligraphy writing while on menstruation?
Answer:
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
Yes, it is allowed to write Qur'anic verses when on one's period. However, one cannot touch the Qur'anic verses themselves without a barrier (such as a cloth). [Ibn Abidin,Radd al-Muhtar]
The rulings of menstruation are a test of our slavehood to Allah, as many of the other rulings of the Shariah, and are an honoring from Allah for those who say, O Lord, "We hear and we obey!" [Qur'an, 2.285]
And Allah alone gives success.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate
May Allah's peace and blessings be upon His Messenger Muhammad, his folk, companions, and followers
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.
I asked Shaykh Akram Abd al-Wahhab al-Mawsuli, a leading Iraqi faqih, and he said that unless the recordings were specifically for women--and clearly labelled and distributed as such--then they are to be avoided.
