As you read this article, the upper layer of the atmosphere is being
bombarded by meteors.
Millions of meteoroids in the vastness of space represent a major
threat to the Earth.
A meteor could fall to Earth at any moment, maybe in the exact
region you are in now.
And that could mean the end of all mankind. Under the effect of such
an impact, earthquakes, fires and volcanic eruptions would follow
hard on one another's heels, and no life would remain on Earth.
But have you ever thought that a meteor could be hurtling toward
where you are at this very moment?
A GIANT METEOROID IS APPROACHING THE EARTH
A recent report announced that a meteoroid weighing 55 million tons
is speeding toward the Earth.
It was announced that this giant meteoroid, discovered by
astronomers 6 years ago, will pass close by the Earth on 8 November,
2011.
It has been calculated that this meteoroid, which will pass by the
Earth at a distance of 35,000 km, making it the closest ever.
If this meteoroid, known as YU55, were to hit the Earth, it would do
so with the impact of a 65,000 ton atom bomb and leave a crater 600
meters deep.
Many meteoroids have passed close by the Earth in previous years.
On 15 March, 2002, a meteoroid measuring 50 to 100 meters in
diameter came within 450,000 kilometers of the Earth. Had it hit, it
would have caused an explosion equivalent to a nuclear bomb going
off.
On 22 June, 2002, a meteoroid the size of a football pitch came even
closer, passing by the Earth at a distance of 120,000 kilometers and
at a speed of 37,000 kilometers an hour.
Do not forget that if just one of these meteoroids had hit the Earth
instead of passing by it, you would in all probability not be
watching this film today.
But our Almighty Lord protects us from this danger with His infinite
love. That protection is one of the manifestations of His infinite
compassion.
Allah reveals in the Holy Qur'an that all things survive solely
because Allah so desires: I seek Refuge in Allah from the accursed
satan
Allah keeps a firm hold on the heavens and earth, preventing them
from vanishing away. And if they vanished no one could then keep
hold of them. Certainly He is Most Forbearing, Ever-Forgiving.
(Surat al-Fatir, 41)
There is no doubt that Allah is mighty enough to destroy the entire
universe when He so wishes. Allah has appointed an hour for the Day
of Reckoning, which will spell the end of this world, and the
meteoroids surrounding the Earth are hurtling rapidly in the
direction of that hour.
I seek Refuge in Allah from the accursed satan
Mankind, have taqwa of your Lord! The quaking of the Hour is a
terrible thing... the Hour is coming without any doubt and Allah
will raise up all those in the graves. (Surat al-Hajj, 1,7)
With the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), Allah has initiated the
process by which mankind will turn toward the moral values of the
Qur'an for the last time. Hundreds of thousands of meteoroids have
surrounded the Earth like a cloud, all ready to strike it at any
moment. As revealed in the hadiths, Hijri 1400 is the date of the
coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). There has been the most enormous
increase in the numbers of meteoroids around the Earth in the 30
years between Hijri 1400, or 1980, and 2010. It is noteworthy that
the number has increased particularly rapidly since 1999.
A verse referring to the rise in meteoroids in 1999 reads:
I seek Refuge in Allah from the accursed satan
If they saw a lump of heaven falling down, they would just say,
'Banked-up clouds!' (Surat at-Tur, 44)
Abjad calculation of this verse gives a date of 1999. The way that
meteoroids began increasing in number as of 1980 and that this rise
continued to climb extraordinarily rapidly until the end of 1999 are
some of the portents of the Day of Reckoning. Allah knows the truth.

There are those who say, “The collapse of the Ottoman Empire has not yet finished, but that collapse will be completed when the Southeast breaks away:”But the Qur’an says, “Division is a sin, unity is an obligation”...
"There are those who think that 'The collapse of the Ottoman Empire
has not yet finished. Everywhere has split up as Ottoman provinces.
Only the Southeast is left;and that is the final stage. Once that
breaks away, too, the collapse of the Empire will be complete.' But
division isa sin whether or not the Ottoman Empire even exists. Allah
imposes unity among Muslims as an obligation."
There is a theory proposed by some people that'The collapseof the
Ottoman Empire has not yet finished, it is still going on.' In other
words, they supposedly see the Ottoman Empire surviving within the
Republic of Turkey. They regard the Southeast as one of the
provinces of the Ottoman Empire that has not yet broken away.'The
Southeast also needs to break away as an Ottoman province. In the same
way that Bulgaria, Greece and all the other places broke away; just
the Southeast now remains. There is the final stage. Then the collapse
of the Empire will be complete,' they think.
For one thing, the Ottoman Empire never pressured anyone. It never
interfered in anyone's religion or language. Everyone in Bulgaria
spoke Bulgarian, not Ottoman. Everyone in Algeria spoke French.
There was never any interference in their religions, either;
everyone was free and at peace. That is a feature unique to the
Ottoman Empire. The reason for the collapse of the Ottoman Empire
was fundamentalism and bigotry. The coming of Darwinism, the spread
of a Darwinist and materialist system, the spread of atheism, the
weakening of faith within the state and finally the almost complete
domination of the state by Darwinism. It was a collapse resulting
from weakness of faith caused by that. During the initial expansion
of the Ottoman Empire it spread very fast. A policy of conquest was
followed and the Ottomans ruled everywhere, but they were devout
believers with a strong religious structure. But then this weakness
of faith appeared. The collapse began with the growth of Darwinism
and materialism within the Ottoman Empire. And then it came to this
position. I am saying this in order to resolve the misunderstanding
here; the collapse of the Ottoman Empire did no good to anyone. It
brought no prosperity to Greece. Greece was ruined. They saw no
abundance or beauty as a result. The same with Cyprus. The Turkish
part is well-off now, but not the Greek part. The economy in the
Greek part has collapsed. The state is bankrupt. The state is also
bankrupt in Greece. The economy has collapsed. It brought no
prosperity with it. And even if the Ottoman Empire collapsed, we are
Muslims. And Muslims must be as one. It is not essential to call it
the Ottoman Empire. There is Islamic Unity and Muslims have a duty
to be united. The people of the Southeast, our brothers there, are
also Muslims, and we are Muslims. We must be united as Allah
commands. Division due to tribalism is a sin. "Do not separate"
(Surat al-'Imran, 103) says Almighty Allah; "... do not quarrel
among yourselves lest you lose heart and your momentum
disappear.... " says Allah (Surat al-Anfal, 46) . It is a sin. Look,
"Do not separate". This is why we need to analyze the matter on the
basis of the Qur'an. We should not attach any credence to the words
of those who engage in sociological analyses.

Allah creates every incident for the best
What are the reasons that prevent us from seeing the good in things?
Every person has moments in life that may be called difficult. Most
people who live away from the moral values of the Qur'an experience
these moments with feelings like discomfort, sadness and boredom. In
such environments, these people display attitudes like
aggressiveness, tension and a disputatious attitude. The reason for
these reactions is that they do not have faith in Allah and the
perfection of the destiny He created. The reasons, which prevent
these people seeing the goodness behind these events, can be summed
up as follows:
Not Forgetting That the World is A Place of Trial
Some people think that most of their lives develop as a result of
coincidences in a flow. But this mistaken evaluation is a grave
misconception. Everything from big incidents like having cancer or
losing a close one in a traffic accident, to the food he eats or
the clothes he wears are special events preordained in that
person's destiny. Allah creates all these incidents down to the
finest detail for that person's trial.
A person is subject to a continuous trial throughout his life;
nothing happens by coincidence. If a person cannot grasp this fact
and thinks that events take place independent of Allah, then he is
greatly mistaken. This is because all things that happen through the
course of life are a test Allah created especially for this person,
and this person is held responsible for his reactions and
behaviors. His behaviors and morals will determine his condition in
the hereafter. The knowledge that everything great and small could
not happen by coincidence and all of them are incidents Allah has
created in that person's destiny is one of the most important
truths that he should always keep in mind. As long as a person do
not forget this truth, he would never forget that everything he
faces is good for him because everything happens by Allah's leave.
In this case people should first bear in mind that the life of this
world is a place of trial in order to "see the best" in everything.
No Self is Burdened With More Than It Can Stand
Allah tests every person with different events and people in many
ways. However it is important to point this out ; Allah has infinite
power and He is very merciful (Al-Halim) to His servants; He does
not give His servants a trial that is beyond their power. This is a
promise made by Allah:
"We do not impose on any self any more than it can stand. With Us
there is a Book which speaks the truth. They will not be wronged."
(Surat al-Muminun, 62)
Every difficult trial, diseases, accidents, financial and spiritual
troubles a person may face in the life of this world are trials
within the boundaries that he can handle. However, if a person
chooses rebellion and thanklessness suggested by satan instead of
good morals and patience, then this is his own choice and he will be
held responsible for his attitude.
From time to time, a person may think that he has no way out,
everything is over or that this is a difficulty he cannot overcome.
He may display a rebellious attitude by forgetting that there may
be a goodness in that incident. But all of these are actually empty
illusions given by satan. A sincere believer should know this truth;
no matter what he lives through, this is something he can use to
show good morals and patience. Despair is a suggestion given by
satan.
A believer should never fall into despair, as Allah commands us, and
should deeply think about every situation he faces.
Believers know that the difficulties Allah creates for them in the
life of this world are but trials. They know that these trials are
created especially to distinguish between sincere Muslims and those
who have sickness in their hearts. This is because Allah reveals in
the Qur'an that He will test Muslims and distinguish the right ones
from the wrong ones:
" Or did you imagine that you were going to enter the Garden without
Allah knowing those among you who had struggled and knowing the
steadfast?" (Surah Al 'Imran, 142)
Misunderstanding the Fact of Destiny
People make many plans for their future, the next day or an hour from
now throughout their lives. These plans are sometimes realized
according to plan, but sometimes they are hindered due to
unexpected developments. People who are astray from the moral
values of religion think that these disruptions happen by
coincidence.
In reality neither plans nor unexpected disruptions take place.
Whether or not a plan is carried out or not, all incidents a person
faces are in that person's destiny and are events preordained by
Allah. As it is revealed in the verse; " He directs the whole
affair from heaven to earth..." (Surat as-Sajda, 5) And it is also
revealed in another verse; "We have created all things in due
measure." (Surat al-Qamar, 49)
A person may think that he lives what he plans, but actually he only
lives the destiny Allah creates for him. Therefore, even if a
person thinks that he can change his destiny by doing something, he
actually thinks that because this is also in his destiny. Not even a
single moment is outside destiny. A person in coma dies because it is
in his destiny and a person who wakes up from a coma months later
is also saved because it is in his destiny.
A person who could not understand faith completely would think that
all incidents are a result of random developments and coincidences.
Such a person believes that everything in the universe exists
unattended. When something bad happens to him because of that, he
would name such things with meaningless words like "luck".
However a person's intelligence and discernment is very limited;
also a person is a being limited to time and place. Everything that
happens in a person's life is created by Allah Who is not bound by
time and place and Who has "infinite wisdom". This truth is revealed
in the Qur'an as such:
"Nothing occurs, either in the earth or in yourselves, without its
being in a Book before We make it happen. That is something easy for
Allah."(Surat al-Hadid, 22)
As a result of this great truth, what a person needs to do is to
understand that every incident is created for the best and that they
should surrender to the destiny Allah has created for him. However,
people who have sincere faith live their lives knowing that
everything in their lives is subject to the destiny Allah creates
and they are all created for a reason. As a result of this they
always reach goodness. This good morality and solid submission
shown by believers is revealed in the Qur'an as such:
"Say: 'Nothing can happen to us except what Allah has ordained for
us. He is Our Master. It is in Allah that the faithful should put
their trust.'"(Surat at-Tawba, 51)
Satan Seeks to Prevent Us From Seeing Good
It is revealed to us in the Qur'an that satan is thankless and
rebellious. We understand from the verses that he will approach
people from the right, left, front and back and try everything to
divert people from the true path. One of the most important methods
satan uses to reach this evil goal is the prevent people from seeing
the best in everything that happens, and thus make them rebellious
and unthankful towards Allah. People who do not comprehend the
beauty of the Qur'an's moral values, who live away from religious
morality and spend their lives in empty and meaningless pursuits
fall into this trap of satan.
Satan tries whisper suggestions into people's hearts by finding
their sensitive areas; he tries to call them to rebel against Allah
and the destiny He has determined. For example, when someone's
neighbor has a traffic accident, he can easily remind one that this
incident is in destiny and explain the good things about this
incident. And he can even calm them by saying, "The important thing
is you are saved; Allah protected you". But some people cannot act
the same when his family or he goes through the same events. They
can fall into satan's trap and see rebellion as much easier, because
it is a matter of consciousness to try and see the best in things,
submit to Allah and be patient. If the person does not use his
consciousness enough, he would always display the wrong behaviors
under such circumstances.
Allah Creates Every Incident for the Best Advantage of His Servants
In short, as we have emphasized with examples throughout this
article, satan approaches people in two ways to prevent the good.
The first is that he does everything he can to prevent good deeds
and tries to guide people to cling to the life of this world. The
second is that he tries to prevent people from seeing the good and
wisdom behind incidents. Especially when there is a calamity, he
tries to make it appear as "evil" (Allah is beyond that) and tries
to divert people into rebelling against Allah.
However, Allah has granted people countless blessings. He shows His
kindness to people with blessings from birth till death. Therefore
believers take Allah as a friend and guide, trust and submit to
Allah even if they do not understand the wisdom of something they
are faced with and endure in knowing that a good result will surely
come out of it. No matter what the situation is, they do not rebel or
complain. They know that even in the case of fatal situations it
will turn to their advantage in the end. And every difficult thing
they have faced will be a vital and crucial turning point that will
help save them in the hereafter, by Allah's leave. As revealed in
the verse "... It may be that you hate something when it is good for
you and it may be that you love something when it is bad for you.
Allah knows and you do not know. (Surat al-Baqara, 216)
Every person has moments in life that may be called difficult. Most
people who live away from the moral values of the Qur'an experience
these moments with feelings like discomfort, sadness and boredom. In

Miracles of The Quran About the Sun
One of the things that prove that Quran is the words of Allah, is
that it informs us of scientific facts that no one could have
possibly known about when Quran was sent 1400 years ago. The

HE HELIO-CENTRIC SYSTEM
He created the heavens and the Earth with truth. He wraps the night
around the day and wraps the day around the night, and has made the
Sun and Moon subservient, each one running for a specified term. Is
He not indeed the Almighty, the Endlessly Forgiving? ( Surat
az-Zumar, 5)
In the above verse the movement of the Earth is described by the word
"yukawwiru," which comes from root verb "takwir," meaning "to
cover up a spherical body," in the way that the rotation of the
Earth gives rise to night and day, like the winding of a turban. In
addition to the spherical shape of the Earth the word is also the
most accurate expression of its movement around the Sun. Because
of the Earth's spherical shape and its movement around the Sun, the
Sun always illuminates one side of the Earth while the other is in
darkness. The side in shadow is shrouded by the darkness of night,
to be replaced by the brightness of day when the Sun rises. The
positions of the Sun and Earth are revealed as follows in Surah Ya
Sin:
And the Sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the
Almighty, the All-Knowing. And We have decreed set phases for the
Moon, until it ends up looking like an old palm spathe. It is not
for the Sun to overtake the Moon nor for the night to outstrip the
day; each one is swimming in a sphere. (Surah Ya Sin, 38-40)
The movements of the Sun and Moon in verse 40 of Surah Ya Sin are
described by the Arabic word "yasba h oon a ," meaning "flowing,
passing or swimming." This word refers to an action performed by
someone on their own. Someone acting according to this verb
continues to perform it alone, with no intervention from anyone
else. The above verses may therefore be referring to the Sun's
independent movement in the universe, independent of any other
celestial body. (Allah knows the truth.) It is impossible for us to
see or follow the movement of the Sun with our own eyes. It is only
possible to determine that movement using special technological
equipment. As stated in verse 39 of Surah Ya Sin, in addition to
rotating around its own axis once every 26 days, the Sun also moves
through its own course.
The verse also reports that the Sun is not allowed to "overtake the
Moon," and the Qur'an thus states that the Sun and Moon do not
revolve around the same body, as astronomers put it. At the same
time, the verse makes it clear that there is no connection between
the motion responsible for night and day and the movement of the
Sun and Moon. (Allah knows the truth.)
Until the 16th century it was thought that the Earth was the center
of the universe. This view is known as the "geo-centric model,"
from the Greek words geo (Earth) and centron (center). This belief was
questioned by the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus in 1543 in
his book De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium (Of the Revolutions of
Heavenly Spheres), in which he suggested that the Earth and the
other planets revolve around the Sun. But as a result of
observations using a telescope performed by Galileo Galilei in 1610,
it was scientifically established that the Earth revolves around
the Sun. Since it had hitherto been thought that the Sun revolved
around the Earth, most scholars of the time rejected Copernicus'
theory. The famous astronomer Johannes Kepler's views setting out
the movements of the planets confirmed the helio-centric model in
the 16th and 17th centuries. In this model, whose name comes from
the words Helios (Sun) and centron (center), the Sun is the center of
the universe, rather than the Earth. Other heavenly bodies also
revolve around the Sun. Yet this was all revealed 1400 years ago in
the Qur'an.
By saying that the Earth was the center of the universe, the ancient
Greek astronomer Ptolemy was responsible for the geo-centric idea
of the universe that prevailed for hundreds of years. For that
reason, at the time of the revelation of the Qur'an, nobody knew
that the Earth-centered model that accounted for the formation of
day and night in terms of the movement of the Sun was incorrect. On
the contrary, all the stars and planets were regarded as revolving
around the Earth. Despite these prevalent errors of the time, the
Qur'an contains many expressions that agree with the scientific
facts regarding day and night:
By the Sun and its morning brightness, and the moon when it follows
it, and the day when it displays it, and the night when it conceals
it (Surat ash-Shams, 1-4)
As set out in the above verse, day, the brightness of the Sun, is
the result of the movement of the Earth. It is not the movement of
the Sun that is responsible for night and day. In other words, the
Sun is immobile in terms of night and day. The information in the
Qur'an refutes the thesis that the Earth is fixed while the Sun
revolves around it. The Qur'an is clearly descended from the
presence of our Lord, He Who is unfettered by space and time. As
science and technology advance more and more examples of the
compatibility between the Qur'an and science are coming to light.
This is set out in another verse from the Qur'an:
There is instruction in their stories for people of intelligence.
This is not a narration which has been invented but confirmation of
all that came before, a clarification of everything, and a
guidance and a mercy for people who believe. (Surah Yusuf, 111)

THE SUN WILL EVENTUALLY EXPIRE
And the Sun runs to its resting place . That is the decree of the
Almighty, the All-Knowing. (Surah Ya Sin, 38)
The Sun has been emitting heat for around 5 billion years as a result
of the constant chemical reactions taking place on its surface. At
a moment determined by Allah in the future, these reactions will
eventually come to an end, and the Sun will lose all its energy and
finally go out. In that context, the above verse may be a reference
to the Sun's energy one day coming to an end. (Allah knows the
truth.)
The Arabic word " limustaqarrin " in the verse refers to a
particular place or time. The word " tajree " translated as "runs,"
bears such meanings as "to move, to act swiftly, to move about, to
flow." It appears from the meanings of the words that the Sun will
continue in its course in time and space, but that this motion will
continue until a specific, predetermined time. The verse "When the
sun is compacted in blackness," (Surat at-Takwir, 1) which appears
in descriptions of Doomsday, tells us that such a time will be
coming. The specific timing is known only to Allah.
The Arabic word " taqdeeru ," translated as "decree" in the verse,
includes such meanings as "to appoint, to determine the destiny of
something, to measure." By this expression in verse 38 of Surah Ya
Sin, we are told that the life span of the Sun is limited to a
specific period, one ordained by Allah. Other verses of the Qur'an
on the subject read:
Allah is He Who raised up the heavens without any support – you can
see that – and then established Himself firmly on the Throne. He
made the Sun and Moon subservient, each running for a specified
term . He directs the whole affair. He makes the Signs clear so that
hopefully you will be certain about the meeting with your Lord.
(Surat ar- Ra'd, 2 )
He makes night merge into day and day merge into night, and He has
made the Sun and Moon subservient, each one running until a
specified time . That is Allah, your Lord. The Kingdom is His. Those
you call on besides Him have no power over even the smallest speck.
(Surah Fatir, 13)
He created the heavens and the earth with truth. He wraps the night
around the day and wraps the day around the night, and has made the
Sun and Moon subservient, each one running for a specified term .
Is He not indeed the Almighty, the Endlessly Forgiving? (Surah
az-Zumar, 5)
The use of the word " musamman " in the above verses shows that the
life span of the Sun will run for a "specified term." Scientific
analysis regarding the end of the Sun describes it as consuming 4
million tons of matter a second, and says that the Sun will die when
that fuel has all been consumed . 1 The heat and light emitted from
the Sun is the energy released when matter is consumed as hydrogen
nuclei turn into helium in the nuclear fusion process. The Sun's
energy, and therefore its life, will thus come to an end once this
fuel has been used up. (Allah knows the truth.) A report titled "The
Death of the Sun" by the BBC News Science Department says:
... The Sun will gradually die. As a star's core crashes inwards, it
eventually becomes hot enough to ignite another of its constituent
atoms, helium. Helium atoms fuse together to form carbon. When the
helium supply runs out, the centre collapses again and the
atmosphere inflates. The Sun isn't massive enough to fully re-ignite
its core for a third time. So it goes on expanding, shedding its
atmosphere in a series of bursts... The dying core eventually forms a
white dwarf - a spherical diamond the size of the Earth, made of
carbon and oxygen. From this point on the Sun will gradually fade
away, becoming dimmer and dimmer until its light is finally snuffed
out. 2
A documentary, also called "The Death of the Sun," broadcast by
National Geographic TV , provides the following description:
It (the Sun) generates heat and sustains life on our planet. But
like humans, the Sun has a limited lifespan. As our star ages, it
will become hotter and expand, evaporating all of our oceans and
killing all life on planet Earth... The Sun will get hotter as it
ages and burns fuel faster. Temperatures will increase, eventually
wiping out animal life, evaporating our oceans and killing all plant
life... the Sun will swell and become a red giant star, swallowing
up the nearest planets. Its gravitational pull will lessen and
perhaps allow Earth to escape. By the end, it will shrink into a
white dwarf star, emitting a week glow for hundreds of billions of
years. 3
Scientists have only recently unravelled the structure of the Sun
and discovered what goes on inside it. Before that, nobody knew how
the Sun obtained its energy or how it emitted heat and light. The
way that such a giant mass of energy would one day consume all its
energy and expire was revealed 1400 years ago in the Qur'an shows
the presence of a sublime knowledge. That knowledge belongs to our
Lord, Whose knowledge enfolds all things. Another verse of the
Qur'an reveals:
... My Lord encompasses all things in His knowledge so will you not
pay heed? (Surat Al-An'am, 80)
that it informs us of scientific facts that no one could have
possibly known about when Quran was sent 1400 years ago. The
information provided in Quran about the Sun is just one of these
amazing miracles.

Repentance is a blessing that gives relief to the heart
One of the most important characteristics that distinguishes
unbelievers from believers is that believers repent often as an act
of worship. As unbelievers consider themselves faultless and
sinless, they do not feel the need to repent. Believers, on the
other hand, do not want to commit any sins against Allah. However,
by their nature, people can sin temporarily by following their inner
selves. They can be lax in carrying out Allah's commands. But in
the end they regret and turn to Allah and ask for our Lord's
forgiveness.
Allah created people as very weak beings. People indulge in
negligence due to ignorance or unawareness; they can be mistaken
forgetting even the subjects they know best, they can think in a
wrong or mistaken way, take the wrong decisions, or act in an
unsound manner knowingly or unknowingly. This is because people
have a vicious enemy like satan who is trying to drag them into
rebellion and divert them from the true path by giving them
suggestions. The inner self also commands evil all the time. People
can earn the good pleasure of Allah to the extent that they can
protect themselves from these two negative Powers. His Highness
Master Bediuzzaman says, "In these times of distortion and misery
where this world has many captivating attributes, our basic action
point must be to dismiss evil and abandon sins". However no matter
what happens, Allah always guides people to make up for their
mistakes; this guidance is repentance.
It Is a Great Blessing That Our Lord is All-Merciful,
All-Compassionate and Kind and Protective to His Servants
Allah always gives people the opportunity to ask for forgiveness
and repent for their mistakes and sins. A person who sincerely
abandons his mistakes and repents to Allah can hope that Allah will
forgive him. Allah reveals in many verses of the Qur'an that He is
"Forgiving", "Merciful", the "Protector" and "Compassionate".
Allah's names of "At-Tawwab" meaning "The One Who Accepts
Repentance" and "Al-Gaffar" meaning "All-Forgiving" and "Ar-Rahman"
meaning "All-Merciful" manifest on all those who regret and repent.
In one verse Allah heralds His servants by saying, " Tell My
servants that I am the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." (Surat
al-Hijr, 49).
It is impossible to claim that a person has not made any mistakes
and been faultless and perfect throughout his entire life, because
people are created as beings capable of making mistakes. Our
Almighty Lord is the One Who is All-Forgiving and All-Merciful.
Therefore, believers have to take notice of their mistakes, which
they made knowingly or unknowingly by falling into negligence or
listening to their inner selves. They have to regret their mistakes
and direct themselves to the right path and turn to our Lord as soon
as possible and strive not to make that mistake again. Of course a
person has to be careful not to make mistakes and commit sins and
protect the boundaries of our Lord; but when he makes a mistake in
spite of this, it is a great characteristic of a believer to ask
forgiveness from Allah. Our Lord's names "The One Who Accepts
Repentance" (At-Tawwab), "All-Forgiving" (Al-Gaffar),
"All-Merciful" (Ar-Rahman) manifest on believers who regret their
mistakes, repent and turn to Allah.
Repenting Very Often Is an Important Believer Characteristic
Repenting frequently is a sign of the believer's humility and
awareness of his weakness in the face of Allah. It is a behavior
that pleases Allah. In return for this act of worship, Allah gives
relief to, lifts the burdens on and opens the minds of those who
repent often.
With Repentance Allah Wants People to Learn Lessons and Notice Their Mistakes
One of the wisdoms of repentance is that the believer experiences
real regret and turns to Allah without wasting any time and strives
not to repeat that mistake. Therefore, he repents in a true and
sincere manner. He repents and keeps his word that he will remain
on the right path until the end of his life. In the Qur'an, the
point of view of someone who sincerely repents is described in the
verse, " Allah only accepts the repentance of those who do evil in
ignorance and then quickly make repentance after doing it. Allah
turns towards such people. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise..." (Surat
an-Nisa', 17) In another verse, Allah reveals how a believer should
behave, " Those who, when they act indecently or wrong themselves,
remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their bad actions (and who
can forgive bad actions except Allah?) and do not knowingly persist
in what they were doing." (Surah Al ' Imran Suresi, 135) .
Submitting to Allah right after making mistakes and not delaying
repentance is an important point. This is because as Master
Bediuzzaman describes, "(If mistakes) are not erased with repentance,
they turn into a poisonous snake that bites the heart. Once the
heart is stained it becomes open to further stains. So man falls into
a (corrupt) circle. Every sin brings a new one; not only this but
also it destroys the feelings of repentance and regret (jealousy).
In the end the secret behind the verse "Their hearts have rusted"
(Surat al-Mutaffifin, 14) becomes visible."
Of course, even if a person who experiences true regret carefully
strives not to repeat that mistake or sin, he can still fall into the
same mistake. This situation should not lead to this person losing
his self-confidence. For every person there is an opportunity to
repent and sincerely submit to Allah until death.
However a person should not be mistaken for the time he has been
given. He should not behave in a ways to abuse Allah's mercy,
forgivingness, grace. He should use the time Allah grants him and
find guidance by repentance and asking for forgiveness while there
is still time. This is because faith and repentance at the moment
of death may not be accepted in the sight of Allah. Therefore he
needs to behave like he will die any moment and strive to edify.
It should not be forgotten that a person can make small or big
mistakes throughout his life, but as long as he repents and submits
to Allah Who forgives and accepts repentance and turns evil into
good with a sincere heart, he can hope that his mistakes will be
forgiven. Allah always answers for repentance. Allah forgives his
mistakes and turns them into good and rewards his good deeds with
the best.

Allah forgives his
mistakes and turns them into good and rewards his good deeds with
the best.
There is no command in the Qur'an that says '...laughter is from satan, a smile is from Allah’. Allah says, “Do not say about what your lying tongues describe: 'This is halal and this is haram.''
A reader wrote : "Mr.M NajimudeeN Bsc, our Prophet (saas) has a
hadith; 'Laughter is from satan. A smile is from Allah.' In your
program, masha'Allah, there is always laughter…"
Look let me tell you something. The Companions were laughing out
loud. In the verse it is said that believers laugh at the situation
of the polytheists out loud. Allah humiliates them; He shames them
in the hereafter. They grovel. They try to escape from hell. They
try to escape from where they came from; they jump and fall down.
They think that they could get out of there. They think that they
found some way to escape and they scheme about it. Muslims see them
and laugh out loud sitting on their thrones. Allah says, "So today
those who have faith are laughing at non-believers." They laugh at
polytheists out loud. They do not smile. They laugh out loud.
However TODAY BELIEVERS LAUGH AT THOSE WHO ARE NON-BELIEVERS.
SO TODAY WHO HAVE FAITH ARE LAUGHING AT NON-BELIEVERS, ON COUCHES,
GAZING IN WONDER. (Surat at-Mutaffifin, 34-35)
Laughter brings relief and opens the mind. There are people who cry
all the time. They cry from morning to night. What do they say?
They say, "Cry all the time. Don't laugh." When a person feels like
laughing, he laughs. Why "...smile a little"? Does it have a
standard? This is wrong. A Muslim can laugh, as he likes. He is
joyful and cheerful.
If we were to act according to those false hadiths of yours, let me
tell you, it would be impossible. It is also said, "Kill those who do
not pray." Women are accepted as only half a person according to
one hadith. It is said that they are half a person and they could
never become rulers. It is said, "Do the opposite of what they
say." According to the false explanations of what you call hadiths,
these are so; but all of these are fabricated and none are
paralleled in the Qur'an.
A hadith is a hadith only if it is in agreement with the Qur'an.
Laughter; you laugh as you like. However with the bigots, that's not
the case. According to you, we cannot sit at a table. We have to
sit on the floor. We cannot also wear a jacket. It is also wrong to
have a hair cut like this. There is no end to it. According to the
false hadiths you mentioned, when a woman, a donkey or a pig is
passing by, you cannot pray. He will not pray and then you will
kill him. He will not give alms and then you will kill him. He will
not fast and then you will kill him. What kind of religion is this?
None of these things are in the Qur'an. Allah says in the verse,
"THERE IS NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION ..." (Surat al-Baqara, 256) What
do you say? You say, "It is forbidden to laugh." Laughter is
forbidden. Music is also forbidden. You will not listen to music.
You will not sit at a table. You will not use forks and spoons. You
also cannot use a toothbrush.
Those who did evil used to laugh at those who had faith.
When they passed by them, they would wink at one another.
When they returned to their families, they would make a joke of them.
When they saw them, they would say, 'Those people are misguided.'
But they were not sent as guardians over them.
(Surat Al-Mutaffifin Suresi, 29-33)
Look Allah says, "Non-believers were laughing at believers in this
world ." Sinners are laughing at believers. Allah says, " When they
passed by them, they would wink at one another. " Now they are
mocking the system of the Mahdi in their own way. Surely, Allah is
beyond that. They are also mocking the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). Allah
says, " When they returned to their families, they would make a
joke of them. " They were saying, " When they saw them, they would
say, 'Those people are misguided.' " Pay close attention here. Look
at what they say to believers: " Those people are misguided. " What
are they going to say to the Mahdi? "Misguided." What does Allah say
in the verse? He says, " They would say, 'Those people are

Prophet (saas) says in one hadith, "The scholar in Istanbul will say
to the Mahdi, 'This man is misguided. He is an apostate. Do not
approach him'" This is the hadith. Allah says in the verse, " But
they were not sent as guardians over them. " Look, this is very
meaningful. " But they were not sent as guardians over them ." They
are trying to be guardians over the believers. "So today those who
have faith are laughing at non-believers." They are not smiling;
they are laughing out loud. "On their couches, gazing in wonder"
Allah says. "Have the non-believers been rewarded for what they did?"
Allah says. Abide by the commandments in the Qur'an. Do not follow
the wrong things. Do not make wrong judgments in the name of Allah.
Look. I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed satan. Allah says,
" Who could do greater wrong than someone who invents lies against
Allah or denies His Signs? Evildoers are certainly not successful.

"Do not say about what your lying tongues describe" , this is very
meaningful. Allah says, "Do not say about what your lying tongues
describe: 'This is halal and this is haram.'" (Surat an-Nahl, 116).

that is not in the Qur'an as the commandment of Allah, and you

additions to the religion is illegal (haram). (Adnan Oktar,

Fathwa - The ruling on breaking the fast before the Athaan of Maghrib
Question
Some brothers in ourMasjidbreak their fast ten minutes before
theAthaanofMaghribinRamadhaanand in any other month. Is this an act
ofSunnah? Is it supported by an authenticHadeeth?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that
Muhammad,, is His Slave and Messenger.
Breaking the fast is contingent on the sunset and not the announcing
of theAthaan. So, if the sun sets, it becomes permissible for the
Muslim to break his fast. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And
eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you
from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the
sunset.}[Quran 2:187]
The Prophet,, said:"When the night falls fromhere and the day elapses
from there, and the sun sets, the Muslim can break his
fasting."[Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
If theMu'aththinannounces theAthaantenminutes after the sunset, it
will be permissible for those people to break their fast when they do
after being sure of the sunset. This is even recommended because the
Prophet,, said:"People will always retain goodness as long as they
hasten to break the fast and delay the Suhoor."[Al-Bukhaari]
But if theMu'aththinannounces theAthaanat its usual due time, then the
breaking of the fasts of those people before theAthaanand the
sunsetwill invalidate their fast. If they are observing an obligatory
fast this will be a grave major sin. They must repent to Allaah The
Almighty sincerely and make up for the days they broke their fast on
before sunset.
TheSunnahseverely warns the Muslim who breaks his fast before sunset.
It was narrated on the authority ofAbu Umaamah Al-Baahilithat the
Prophet,, said:"Two men came to me, held my upper arm and we went to a
ruggedmountain. They asked meto climb it, but I told them I could not.
They told me that they would make it easy for me. When I climbed the
mountain and reached itsmiddle, I heard loud voices. I asked, 'What
are these voices?' They said, 'This is the howling of the people of
Hell.' Then Iwas taken [to another place], and I saw people hanging
from their hamstrings, with the corners of their mouths torn and
dripping with blood. I asked, 'Who are these?' They said, 'The people
who broke their fast before the proper time of breaking the
fast.'"[An-Nasaa'i:Al-Kubra][Al-Haakim said "Saheeh according to the
conditions stipulated by Muslim" and Ath-Thahabi agreed with

Fathwa - A menstruating woman fasting before seeing thewhite discharge
Question
If a woman does not see any blood during the last days of menstruation

Fathwa - Fasting in Ramadhaan with the intention of fulfilling a vow
Question
Is it permissible to fast in Ramadan with the intention of fulfilling
a specific vow?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify
that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad,
is His slave and messenger.
If the intended meaning of the question is that he fasts in Ramadhaan
with two intentions or with the intention of fulfilling a vow in case
it is permissible for him not to fast, then this is impermissible. The
time of Ramadhaan is specific for its sake. Nothing may be associated
with it and it may not be replaced with anything else.
An-Nawawisaid: Ash-Shaafi'i and his companionssaid: "The month of
Ramadhaan should be exclusively for fasting Ramadhaan only, so
nothing else should be associated with it. If a presiding resident,
traveler or one who is sick intends to fast for expiation, fulfill a
vow, make up (a missed fast), voluntary fasting or intends to fast
absolutely without specification, then his intention and fasting are
both invalid for what he intended and for Ramadhaan. This is what was
stated and confirmed by his companions.

Proofs of the existence ofAllaah
Mankind, in general, has maintained a belief in the existence of the
Creator of the Universe since time immemorial. The duty of the
prophets of Allaah was not so much to inform their people of Allaah's
existence as to warn them against associating others with Him, and to
teach them how to serve Him. Allaah Says (what means):"Their
messengers said, 'Is there any doubt concerning Allaah, the originator
of the Heavens and the Earth?'"[Quran 14:10]
The early Muslim scholars did not even have to address the issue of
the Existence of Allaah, for it was a blatantly obvious fact, which
nobody questioned. It was only around the fourth century after the
Prophet's migration to Madeenah, when people's doctrine started being
infiltrated with atheism and permeated by unbelief, that the scholars
had to address the issue.
The existence of Allaah is established by various categories of
proofs, which may be conveniently classified under four categories.
Scriptural evidence
The major religions of the world have scriptures, which teach the
existence of the Creator. In particular, the Quran, the only revealed
book which has remained totally intact and preserved, establishes the
existence of Allaah by compelling rational arguments, while at the
same time serving as an enduring miracle testifying to His reality. It
decisively establishes His uniqueness and non-resemblance to creation,
and emphasizesthat worship is only for Him.
The proof of "Fitrah" (natural inborn belief in Allaah)
As already mentioned, the human being has an inherent and inborn
recognition of his Creator. This is a consequence of a pledge which
Allaah took from the soul of every one of us before we came into this
world, Allaah Says (what means):"And [remember], when your Lord took
from the children of Aadam, their children behind them, and made them
testify over their ownselves, [saying to them], 'Am I not your Lord?'
They said, 'Yea.'"[Quran 7:172]
Every human being is born with this natural disposition, which is
called in Arabic "Fitrah". Abu Hurayrahhas reported that the Messenger
of Allaah () said:"Every child is born upon Fitrah, then it is his
parents who make him Jewish, or Christian, or Magian (Zoroastrian),
just as an animal delivers a perfect baby animal; do you find it
mutilated?"[Al-Bukhaari]
But, this "Fitrah" sometimes becomes latent, especially when the human
being is in a corrupt and spiritually degenerate environment, which is
devoid of reminder and exhortation towards the Lord. The "Fitrah"
surfaces, however, in times of calamity and distress. How many avowed
atheists find themselves raising their hands to the skies in
supplication when in affliction! And how do the staunch unbelievers
cry out for deliverance when they are faced withdeath!
Allaah Says (what means):"[Allaah] it is who causes you to travel over
land and sea; until, when you are in the ships, and they sail with
[their passengers] with a fair breeze, and they are glad therein, a
tempestuous wind reaches them, waves are coming at them from
everywhere, and they think that they are overwhelmed therein; [then]
they call to Allaah, making their faith pure for Him [alone], 'IfYou
save us from this, we will surely be among the thankful!'"[Quran
10:22] Yet, this sincerity is often short-lived. Allaah Says (what
means):"Then, when He saves them, behold, they rebel upon the earth
wrongfully."[Quran, 10:23]
Mankind is all too apt, during the course of his daily life of comfort
and enjoyment, to forget his Lord. Allaah Says (what means):"And when
some trauma touches man, he calls to his Lord, turning repentant to
Him. Then, when He grants him a favor from Himself, he forgets that
for which he called to Him before, and sets up partners to
Allaah."[Quran 39:8]
It is to awaken and alert this "Fitrah" that Allaah, in His mercy and
wisdom, sent Messengers to remind people of their true religion, and to
direct them towards fulfilling their commission of serving their Lord.
Allaah has ordered His prophet to proclaim, Allaah Says (what
means):"O mankind! Ifyou are in [any] doubt regarding my religion,
then [know that] I do not worship those whom you worship besides
Allaah, but I worship Allaah Who will take your souls."[Quran 10:104]
The specific mention of death here drives home the stark reality,
which even the pagans must concede to when faced with the glaring,
intuitive evidence, that Allaah alone causes death. The rational
individual, then, should prepare for this inevitability by responding
to his Lord. Islam is merely a hearkening by man to hisnature, an
acceptance of that which is naturally good and intuitively right.
Allaah Says (what means):"So, set your face toward the religion in
uprightness. That is the "Fitrah" of Allaah, upon which He has created
mankind. Let there be no changing of Allaah's creation."[Quran 30:30]
There are others who stubbornly resist this truth and reject Allaah's
message when it is presented before them, although they are well aware
of its veracity. Thiswas the attitude of Pharaoh and his supporters,
and its consequences are severe,in this world and the Hereafter,
Allaah Says (what means):"They rejected[Our signs], although their own
souls were convinced of their truth, [and this they did] out of
iniquity and arrogance. See, then, what was the sequel for those who
cause corruption!"[Quran 27:14]
Yet, even hardened deniers who stand in the way of truth and resist it
may grab hold of it at thelast moment, before it is too late, for on
account of the surfacing of the "Fitrah", a disbeliever who is faced
with death on the battlefield may suddenly embrace Islam. The Muslim
who fights in Jihaad will similarly be exposed to death frequently,
thus enhancing and sharpening his awareness of Allaah.
Rational proof
It is intuitively obvious, and confirmed by science, that the
universehad a beginning. Every action requires a doer, and thus the
existence of creation necessarily indicates the existence ofthe
Creator. Allaah appeals to the human mind and rationality in the
Quran, saying, (whichmeans):"Were they created from nothing, or are
they [themselves] the creators?"[Quran 52:35]. Quite obviously, we
have been created, and brought into existence after beingnon-existent,
and it is also plain that we do not create ourselves.
A few years ago, the sands in the "Rub' Al-Khaali" desert (theEmpty
Quarter) were blown away by a windstorm to reveal the ruins of a city
that had been covered by the sands. Scientists began toexamine the
contents of the city to try to determine the period in which it had
been built. Nobody among the archaeologists or others even suggested
that this city could have appeared as a result of the natural actions
of the wind, rain, heat and cold, and not bythe actions of man. If
anyone had suggested such a thing, people would have regarded him as
crazy and would have taken pity on him. So how about if someonehad
said that this city was formed by the air from nothing in the far
distant past, then it settled on the earth?
Having recognized the necessity of the existenceof a Creator, one then
realizes that there can only be one Creator. Allaah Says (what
means):"If there were in [the heavens and the earth] gods other than
Allaah, [the heavens and earth] would surely have been
disordered."[Quran 21:22] Allaah Says (what means):"Allaah has not
taken a son, nor is there any god with Him, for in that case, each god
would assuredly have championed that which he created, and some of
them would surely have overcome others. Glorified be Allaah above that
which they allege!"[Quran, 23:91] Further, this one and onlyCreator
cannot possibly resemble creation. Allaah Says (what means):"Is, then,
He Who creates, like he who does not create? Do you not
reflect?"[Quran 16:17]
Perceptual experience
We witness and experience the answering of prayers, and this in itself
indicatesthe existence of Allaah. Allaah Says (what means):"When you
sought help of your Lord, and He answered you."[Quran 8:9] Al-Bukhaari
and Muslimhave both narrated the Prophet's saying in whicha bedouin
asked the Prophet () to pray for rain, since crops were perishing and
people were starving. The prophetprayed to Allaah for rain, and almost
immediately clouds began to gather and it began raining heavily. Also
in this category of evidence are the miracles which people witness at
the hands of their prophets, including the splitting of the moon by
Muhammad (), and the enduring miracle of the Quran.
Finally, we should bear inmind that abundant as the proofs may be,
they are only of avail to those who honestly and sincerely search for
the truth. As for those obdurate ones who simply refuse to believe,
they will not cease their idle disputation. Allaah Says (what
means):"And they say, 'Our hearts are in a covering from that to which
you call us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and you is
a veil, so act, we [also] are acting."[Quran 41:5] Allaah Says (what
means):"Those against whom the decree of your Lord has been verified,
will not believe, although every sign should come to them, until they
see the painful punishment."[Quran 10:96-97]
Also

they are only of avail to those who honestly and sincerely search for

they will not cease their idle disputation. Allaah Says (what

you call us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and you is
a veil, so act, we [also] are acting."[Quran 41:5] Allaah Says (what
means):"Those against whom the decree of your Lord has been verified,
will not believe, although every sign should come to them, until they
see the painful punishment."[Quran 10:96-97]
Attributes and abilities ofAngels
They are honourable and obedient to Allaah
Almighty Allaah has described theangels as being honourable and
obedient in the verse (which means):
"[The Quran being Carried] by the hands of messengers (angels) noble
and dutiful."[Quran 80:15-16] Meaning, the Quran is inthe hands of
scribes, i.e., the angels, because they are the emissaries of Allaah
to His Messengers and Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention.
Allaah has described these angelsas being "honourable and obedient",
i.e., He has created them honourable, good and noble. Their actions
are obedient, pure and perfect. Hence the one who learns the Quran by
heart should be one whose actions andwords are proper and correct.
The Messenger of Allaahsaid:
"The one who reads the Quran and recites it perfectly will be with the
honourable scribes (angels) and the one who reads the Quran and tries
his best, and it is hard for him, will have his reward
doubled."[Al-Bukhaari]
They are modest
Among the attributes of the angels mentioned by the Messengeris their
modesty. `Aa'ishahsaid that the Messenger of Allaahwas lyingdown in
his house with his thigh or his shin uncovered. Abu Bakrasked for
permission to come in, and he let him in and spoke with him whilst he
was in that state. Then 'Umarasked for permission to come in, and
helet him in and spoke with him whilst he was in that state. Then
`Uthmaanasked for permission to come in, and the Messengersat up and
rearranged his garment, then he let him come in and spoke with him.
When he left, `Aa'ishah said: "Abu Bakr came in, and you did not stir
or pay too much attention. Then 'Umar came in, and you did not stir or
pay too much attention. Then `Uthmaan came in, and you sat up and
fixedyour garment." He said,"How could I not feel shy of a man of whom
the angels feel shy?"[Muslim]
The phrase "you did not stir" means you did not welcome him warmly.
Khadeejahsaid to the Prophet: "… O cousin, can youinform me the next
time your companion (i.e. Jibreel) comes to you?"
Hesaid:"Indeed".Shesaid: "Tell me if he comes." Later, when the
Prophet, Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam was with her once, Jibreel came
to him. Seeing him, the Prophetsaid to Khadeejah: "O Khadeejah, here
comes Jibreel." Shesaid: "Do you see him now?" Heanswered in the
affirmative. Shesaid: "Come and sit on my right side." The Prophetcame
and sat on her right side. Then shesaid: "Doyou see him now?" the
Prophetsaid:"Yes".Then sheasked the Prophetto sit in her lap. When
hedid, sheasked him: "Do you still see him?" Heagain said:"Yes."Then
sheuncovered her headwhile the Prophetwas still sitting in her lap and
said: "Do you still see him?" Hesaid:"No"Shesaid: "He is not a devil;
he is nothing but an angel …" [Al-Bayhaqi]
That fact that Jibreel disappearedwhen Khadeejahuncovered her head
shows that angels are modest and bashful.
They are able to take on different forms
Almighty Allaah has given the angels the ability to take on forms
different from their own. Allaah sent Jibreel (the angel Gabriel) to
Maryam (Mary) in human form, as stated in the verse (which means):
"And mention, [O Muhammad], inthe Book [the story of] Maryam (Mary),
when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she
took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel
[i.e. Jibreel],and he represented himself to her as a
well-proportioned man. She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge inthe Most
Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allaah."
He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a
pure boy [i.e. Son].'"[Quran 19:16-19]
The angels came to Ibraaheem (Abraham)in human form, and he did not
know that they were angels until they told him who they really were,
as stated inthe verses (which mean):
"And certainly did Our messengers [i.e. angels] come to Ibraaheem
(Abraham) with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and
did not delay inbringing [them] a roasted calf. But when he saw their
hands notreaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them
apprehension. They said, "Fear not. We have been sent to the people of
Lot."[Quran 11:70]
The angels came to the Prophet Lotin the form of young men with
handsome faces and hewas grieved on account of them and feared that
they may be harmed by his people, for they were an evil people who
committed evil actions, and they used to commit sodomy. Almighty
Allaah Says (what means):
"And when Our messengers, [the angels], came to Lot, he was anguished
for them and felt for them great discomfort and said, "This is a
trying day.'"[Quran 11:77]
Ibn Katheersaid:"The angelsappeared to him (Prophet Lot) in the form
of handsome young men as a test and a trial, so that proof might be
established against the people of Loot, and Allaah might seize them
with a mighty punishment."[Al-Bidaayah wan-Nihaayah, 1/43]
Jibreel used to come to the Messengerin different forms. Sometimes he
came in the form of Duhyah Ibn Khaleefah Al-Kalbi(a companion who was
of handsome appearance), and sometimes in the form of a Bedouin.
Many of the Prophet's companionssaw him when he came in that form.

Five minutes in the greencan improve mental health
Just five minutes of exercise a dayin the great outdoors can improve
mental health, accordingto a study released on Saturday, and
policymakers should encourage more people to spend time in parks and
gardens.
Researchers from the University of Essex found that as little as five
minutes of a "green activity" such as walking, gardening, cycling or
farming can boost mood and self esteem.
"We believe that there would be a large potential benefit to
individuals, society and to the costs of the health service if all
groups of people were to self-medicate more with green exercise,"
Barton said in a statement about the study, which was published in the
journal Environmental Science & Technology.
Many studies have shown that outdoor exercise can reduce the risk of
mental illness and improvea sense of well-being, but Jules Pretty and
Jo Barton, who led thisstudy, said that until now no one knew how much
time needed to be spent on green exercise for the benefits to show.
Barton and Pretty looked at data from 1,252 people of different ages,
genders and mental health status taken from 10 existing studies in
Britain.
They analyzed activities such as walking, gardening, cycling, fishing,
boating, horse-riding andfarming.
They found that the greatest health changes occurred in the young and
the mentally ill, although people of all ages and social groups
benefited. The largest positive effect on self-esteem came from a
five-minute dose of "green exercise."
All natural environments were beneficial, including parks in towns or
cities, they said, but green areas with water appearedto have a more
positive effect.

Dought & clear - When does Taraaweeh prayer start in Ramadaan – on the first night or the second?.
When should we start topray Taraaweeh prayer, on the night of the
first day of Ramadaan (whenthe moon is sighted or the previous month
is completed) or after 'Isha' prayer on the first day of Ramadaan?.
Praise be to Allaah.
It is prescribed for the Muslim to perform Taraaweeh prayer after
'Isha' on the first night of Ramadaan, which is the night on which the
new moon is sighted or the Muslims complete thirty days of Sha'baan.
Similarly at the end of Ramadaan, Taraaweeh prayer should not be
offered if it is proven that the month has ended, either by sighting
of the new moon of Eid or if the month of thirty days has been
completed.
It is clear that Taraaweeh prayer is not connected to the fast during
the day in Ramadaan, rather it is connected to the onset of the month
at night in the beginning, and the last day of Ramadaan at the end.
We should not say that Taraaweeh prayer is a naafil prayer and it is
permissible to offer it onany night and in congregation, because
taraaweeh prayer is limited to the month of Ramadaan, and those who
offer this prayer are seeking the reward that comes for praying it.
The ruling on offeringthis prayer in congregation is different from
the rulingon offering other prayers in congregation. In Ramadaan it is
permissible to pray taraaweeh in congregation on each night, whilst
announcing it and encouraging others to join, unlike qiyaam at other
times, where praying qiyaam in congregation is not part of the Sunnah
unless it isdone without having theintention beforehand, orit is done
for the purpose of encouraging and teaching others. So it is Sunnah
to do it sometimes without committing to doing it all the time or
persisting in that.
Shaykh Muhammad al-Saalih al-'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Taraaweeh at times other than Ramadaan is an innovation (bid'ah). For
example, if the people wanted to gatherto pray qiyaam in congregation
in the mosque at times other than Ramadaan, this would be an
innovation.
There is nothing wrong with a person praying incongregation in his
house occasionally at times other than Ramadaan, because this is what
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did. Once he
led Ibn 'Abbaas, and once Ibn Mas'ood and once Hudhayfah ibn
al-Yamaan, in prayer in his house, but he did notadopt that as a
regular Sunnah and he did not do that in the mosque.
Al-Sharh al-Mumti', 4/60, 61
Based on this, whoever offers Taraaweeh prayers before it is proven
that Ramadaan has begun is like one who offers a prayer at the wrong
time. No reward will be written for him, even if he is freeof the sin
of doing that deliberately.
And Allaah knows best.

Dought & clear - Ruling on using medicinal gel through the nose when fasting.
I suffer from an allergy in the nose. I have read the questions having
to do with taking medication in the form of a nasal spray whilst
fasting, and you stated that it does not invalidate the fast. But my
question has to do with another kind of medicine, which is in theform
of a gel that is taken through the nose. Does taking it invalidate the
fast?
Praise be to Allah.
The Prophet's Sunnah indicates that the nose may lead to the
stomach. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
"Exaggerate in rinsing the nose (when doing wudoo') unless you are
fasting." Narrated by Abu Dawood, 142; at-Tirmidhi, 788. Classed as
saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood.
If the gel that is taken through the nose does not reach the throat or
stomach, rather it is absorbed through the nose, then the fast is
valid.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
There is nothing wrong with using creams that moisten the lips and
nose, or dampening it with water or with a wet cloth and the like, but
you should take carenot to let any of that moisture reach the throat
or stomach. If anything does reach it without you intending itto, then
you do not haveto do anything, such as ifyou wash inside your mouth

not break the fast.

to do with taking medication in the form of a nasal spray whilst
fasting, and you stated that it does not invalidate the fast. But my
question has to do with another kind of medicine, which is in theform
of a gel that is taken through the nose.
There is nothing wrong with using creams that moisten the lips and
nose, or dampening it with water or with a wet cloth and the like, but
you should take carenot to let any of that moisture reach the throat
or stomach. If anything does reach it without you intending itto, then
you do not haveto do anything, such as ifyou wash inside your mouth
and the water reaches the throat without you intending itto. That does
not break the fast.

Islam and Teamwork (Team Work): Islam and Leadership, Islam and Consultation
Almighty Allah (SWT) says in the Noble Qur'an: "Andhold fast all
together by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you) and be not
divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitudeAllah's favor on
you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in loveso that by
His grace ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of
fire and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make his signs clearto
you: that ye may be guided." Noble Qur'an (3:103)
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: Faithful believers are to each other as
the bricks of a wall, supporting and reinforcing each other. So
saying, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) clasped his hands by interlocking
his fingers. [Sahih al-Bukhari]
In Islam, Allah (SWT) givesus the gift of brotherhood and sisterhood
and encourages us to do things in a group setting or Team Work.
Examples where Islam encourages team spirit are Juma prayers and Hajj
Pilgrimage. In fact, if we fail to work effectively as a member of
team, we fail to understand the true meaning of "Ummah(collectively
united Community)" in Islam.
Teamwork is defined in Webster's New World Dictionary as "a joint
action by a group of people, in which each person subordinates his or
her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of
the group." This does not mean that the individual is no longer
important; however, it does mean that effective and efficient teamwork
goes beyond individual accomplishments. The most effective teamwork is
produced when all the individuals involved harmonize their
contributions and work towards a common goal.
Lessons from Geese provide a perfect example of the importance of
teamwork and how it can have a profound and powerful effect on our
life. When we use these five principles in our personallife it will
help us to foster and encourage a level of passion and energy in
ourselves, as well as those who are our friends, associates or team
members.
It is essential to remember that teamwork happens whenit is
continually nurtured and encouraged.
Once a wise man said - Two people can accomplish more than twice as
much as one; they get a better return for their labor. As the old
saying goes, two heads are better than one.
Scientists have found that Geese flying in V formation can travel
around 71% further in a session than Geese flying solo (alone).
Working together on the task of flying is beneficial in a number of
ways:
Lesson 1 - The Importance of Achieving Common Goals
Aerodynamic Formation -The V formation of Geese is a way that
maximizes the energy expended by those flying as part of it. The bird
at the front of the flock breaks the air for those flying behind it
and creates a slipstream for them to be dragged along in. The birds
behind also help those in front as the upward motion of their wing
alsocreate an upward draft that propels them forward. This push/pull
relationship ensures all birds in the formation benefit from the work
of others.
Outcome: When we have a sense of "Ummah (collectively united
Community)" and focus, we create trust and can help each other to
achieve our common goals.

Islam and Consultation: Mutual Consultation(Islamic Leadership, Islamand Teamwork)
A Lion who held all the beasts of the surrounding in subjection, and
was always in the habit of making raids upon them to snap and kill any
of them as he required for his daily food. It lasted very long until
the beasts took counsel together and all agreed to deliver him one of
their company each day. They thought that it would satisfy the Lion's
hunger, and as a result, he would cease to harm them by his continual
attacks.
The Lion was at first unwilling to trust them and seemed not to
believe such words, thus he went on by remarkingthat he would prefer
to rely on his effort. But, by being serious on their decision, the
beasts succeeded in persuading Lion that he would do well to trust
them and accept the free offerings.
Having carried the suggestion, the beasts continued for sometime to
perform their engagement sending each day a certain friend of theirs
to the Lion to devour.
Once it happened to be the turn of a Hare to be delivered up as a
victim to the Lion; but before long he requested the others to let him
practice device. The friends mocked him, asking how such a silly beast
as he could pretend to outwit the Lion. The Hare assured them that the
wisdom only belonged toAllah (SWT), and that was He who might choose
weak things to confound the strong. In the end they consented to let
himtry his luck.
The Hare took slowly his way to the Lion, and found him roaring in
anger. In excuse for his being late Hare invented that he along with
another Hare had set out together to appear before the Lion, but a
strange strong Lion had seized the next Hare and carried him off into
his resting place in a ditch. On hearing the pitiful remarks of the
Hare the Lion was exceeding wroth, and commanded the Hare to show him
thefoe who had trespassed on his area. Pretending to be afraid of the
second Lion, the Hare goton the present Lion to ride to the destiny
upon his back, and directed him to a well. On looking down the well,
the Lion saw in the water the reflection of himself and of the Hare on
his back. Quite in rage, he thoughtthat it was the strong enemy of his
with the stolen Hare; he plunged down into the well to attack him.
From that moment, not only the Hare, but all his beast friends were
released by their wise consolation - which is based on Surah Shura, of
the Noble Qur'an: "And those who respond to their Lord and keep up
prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who
spend out of what We have given them." Noble Qur'an (42:38)
Since the principle of mutual consultation ("Shura") is mandatory,
itis a Muslim's fundamentalright, as well as responsibility, to
participate in as many aspects of the community's life as possible.
