A man came to the Prophetand said, "O Messenger of Allah, direct me to
an act which, if I do it, will cause Allah to love me and people to
love me." He (theProphet pbuh) said, "Renounce the world and Allah
will love you; renounce what people possess and people will love you."
This does not mean to giveup all worldy possessions. Islam is not a
religion of monasticism. It means thatwe should never value material
possessions aboveour relationship with Allah.Give up the hunger for
wealth, the blind scrabbling for dollars no matter the consequence,
the obsession with the number on your bank statement. Give these
things up, renounce them, and dedicate yourself to the worship of
Allah. Live a righteous life, and pursue excellence in everything you
do, including your work and family life.
Live simply, humbly, earning your livelihood and providing for your
family without trying to own the "best" and latest of everything.
Do this, and love will flow to you from Allah. —/- - -

"Diligence is the mother of good luck." - Arabic proverb
If you want something, work for it and do not stop. That's how you
create yourown luck. Allah is with those who strive, who struggle, who
try.
Make your own luck. Make something happen. Don't give up... be as
persistent as the sun. Sometimes the sun is hidden behind clouds, but
it's there every day.
You can have your off days when you're tired, when it seems hopeless,
when you wish life would give you a break, but just keep showing up
every day and doing the work, and your break will come, Insha'Allah.

Ameen...This is really mean to me.Alhamdulilla h...May ALLAH bless us
in every single step.To all my brothers and sisters in ISLAM...pray
for me and don't forget to pray for the ummah ,too...everythi ng that
happen is within ALLAH's Knowledge...ALL AH knows better than we know
ourselves...jus t ask for the strength to face with ALLAH's qada and
qadar and put our 300%++dependency on ALLAH. And... the most crucial
thing is NEVER EVER GIVE UPbecause ALLAH don't like HIS servant behave
that way, right? InsyaALLAH don't lose hope...ALLAH is with those who
strive, whostruggle, who try. Innallahama'na...ALLAH always with us.

Defenition of some Ayaths, from Al Qur'an's

O Mary! "Submit yourself with obedience to your Lord
And (remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah
has chosen you, purified you (from polytheism and disbelief), and
chosen you above the women of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of her
lifetime)."
يَا مَرْيَمُ اقْنُتِي لِرَبِّكِ وَاسْجُدِي وَارْكَعِي مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ
O Mary! "Submit yourself with obedience to your Lord (Allah, by
worshippingnone but Him Alone) and prostrate yourself, and Irka'i (bow
down etc.) along with Ar-Raki'un (those who bow down etc.)."
This is a part of the news ofthe Ghaib (unseen, i.e. the news of the
past nations ofwhich you have no knowledge) which We inspire you with
(O Muhammad SAW). You were not with them, when they cast lots with
their pens as to which of them should be charged with thecare of
Maryam (Mary); nor were you with them when they disputed.

In Al Qur'an, some details of Yusuff nabi:

--
The brothers of our prophet Yoosuf 'alayhis-salâm wanted to kill him
(but he didn't die)!!
Then they wanted to erase him from existence
(so his fame increased instead)!!
Then he was sold as a slave(and this made him become a king)!!
Then they wanted to erase his father's love for him (but it increased instead)!!
… So don't stress yourselves over the plots of man,
for Allah's will is above everyone's will!!
When Yoosuf 'alayhis-salâm was in prison, they all testified that he
was thebest of them: [Indeed, we see you of those who do good]
(Yoosuf: 36)
Yet Allah let them out before him!! Despite being distinguished in his
virtue, he still
[remained in prison severalyears] (Yoosuf: 42).
The first man came out to become a servant, the second came out to be
executed, and Yoosuf waited and waited for a long time…!!
But he came out to be the king of Egypt, to be reunited with his
parents, and to be as happy as he could be.
To all of us...whose dreams that have been delayed in their arrival:
"Go ahead, decorate yourself further, for we see you as a good omen –
like that of Yoosuf 'alayhis-salâm. "
To all the superb believers whose wishes have delayed for several
years more than everyone around them…
Relax…
You know that announcingwho took 1st place is always at the end of the
competition & that's when the celebrations begin! :)
If those around you have outraced you, then know that you will be
given in exchange what is beyond your wildest dreams!
Be sure that Allah never forgets, and that "Allah never allows to be
lost the reward of those who do good."
(Yoosuf: 90).
So be amongst them! :/- - -

What does Islam say about wives and husbands?

--
"And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among
yourselves, that you may live in tranquility with them; and He has
brought between you love and mercy. Truly, in this are signs for those
who reflect." (Qur'an 30:21)
Marriage is based on mutual love and respect. The Islamic marriage is
a sacred contract between a willing woman and willing man. There can
be no coercion, and each party is free to include its own terms. The
bride keeps her family name and her marriage gift from the groom. A
Muslim marriage is completed with public festivities reflecting
cultureand customs.
Husbands and wives are protectors of each other. They are equal
partners and best friends, remainingfaithful to one another.
The husband provides, maintains, protects and is responsible for the
family. He fulfills his duties with consultation and kindness. While
the wife is not required to share her wealth and earnings, she may
help her husband. Both spouses work together in the home - cooking and
cleaning - andin raising good children.
If couples are unable to live with one another peacefully, amicable
divorce is permitted as a last resort. Mothers are given priority in
the custody of children.
Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of God be upon him) said:
"Treat women well and be kind to them; they are your partners and
committed helpers."/- - -

Faith love n kindness

--
FAITH, LOVE AND KINDNESS:
Faith, love and kindness are not imaginary conceptsor cute ideas. They
are elemental forces with the power to alter human hearts, and to
change the world. These transformationa l emotions and behaviors were
bestowed upon us by Allah, who is Al-Rahman (The Most Merciful) and
Al-Wadood (The Most Loving). They transcend individuals and nations.
Don't we still have love for the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), and for
the Sahabah, all of whom lived many generations and nations ago?
Faith, love and kindness are the secret weapons that Allah has given
us to conquer corruption, cynicism, hatred, racism, and evil, in
ourselves and in the world./- - -

‘Homoeopathy is unscientific'

--
Practitioners of homoeopathy rely on outdated methods like reading
pulse and gauging body symptoms
Mushrooming homoeopathy clinics and their crowded premises reflect the
increasing popularity of homoeopathy as an alternative medical
system. While some people swear by the effectiveness of homoeopathy,
main stream doctors perceive it to be an 'unscientific' medical
system.
The modern medicine, also know as 'Allopathy,' is an evidence based
system andit relies on documentation and scientific verification where
as homoeopathy is not an evidence based system, Indian Medical
Association honorary secretary Hari Babu said.
"Practitioners of homoeopathy rely on outdated methods like reading
pulse and gauging body symptoms, to diagnose the problems. Also there
is no evidence that the medicine they give is the only reason for the
cure," he said.
Placebo effect
Claiming that the homoeopathy as a system relies on placebo effect,
Dr. Babu said that 80 per cent of the ailments treated by homoeopathy
are cured bymere psychological effects. "Many babas and roadside herb
vendors claim that their medicine can cure various aliments. Without
documentation it is difficult to accept claims like these," Dr. Babu
said.
The other problem that Dr. Babu points out is the lack of uniformity
in the practice of homoeopathy.
Each homoeopathy practitioner prescribes a different medicine for an
ailment, while the drugs prescribed by any allopathy doctor would be
similar for a given ailment and this gives verifiable and consistent
results, he said. "Almost 90 per cent ofgraduates coming out of
homoeopathy colleges resort to practicing allopathy. They prescribe
the modern medicine and leave their own system," he said.
"Patients usually try different homoeopathy doctors and they finally
fallback upon western medicine for lasting relief when those efforts
fail.
Because of the secrecy involved and lack of supporting
documentation,we cannot accept homoeopathy as a valid system," he
added./- - -

[Biography of Imam Sufyan]

--
Imam Sufyan once wrote ina letter to one of his brothers:
"… Beware of doing that which will spoil your deeds, and know that it
is showing off that spoils a person's deeds; and if it is not showing
off then it is conceitedness - for you to imagine that you are better
than one of your Muslim brothers, when in reality he performs more
good deeds than you do; or perhaps he stays further away from that
which Allah has prohibited than you do; or perhaps he performs his
deeds with purer intention that you do.
And even if you are not conceited, beware of developing a love for
praise. Be ever so careful not to come to love other people's praise
of your good deeds, or the respect they feel for you and bestow upon
you because of your good deeds. And beware of desiring that others
should help you in your personal affairs just because they have become
impressed by your good deeds. You surely claim (as does everyone
else), after all, that you are doing good deeds only for the sake of
Allah, well, then turn that claim into reality…"/- - -

Reminders

--
Ibn Mas'ud –( radiyallaahu 'anhu ) – would advise his students, "If
your intention is one of these three, do not seek knowledge: To shame
the ignorant, or to argue with the Fuqahaa' (scholars), or to cause
people to turn their faces in your direction. Intend with your actions
and words that which is with Allaah, for indeed that which is with
Allaah shall remain and everything elseshall perish."
Ibnul Qayyim –( rahimahullaah ) – said, "Deeds without sincerity are
like a traveler who carries in his water-jug dirt. The carrying of it
burdens him and it brings no benefit."/- - -

O mankind! A similitude has been
coined, so listen to it (carefully):
Verily! those on whom you call
besides Allah,cannot create

combine together for the purpose.
And if the fly snatched away a
thing from them,they would
have no power to release itfrom
the fly. so weak are (both) the
seeker and the sought. Al-Qur'an: Ch.22 V.73 —/- - -

India tests nuclear missilethat can hit Beijing Updated: 04/19/2012 12:21am

--
India announced Thursday that it had successfully test launcheda new
nuclear-capable missile that would give it,for the first time, the
capability of striking the major Chinese cities of Beijing and
Shanghai.
The government has hailed the Agni-V missile, with a range of 5,000
kilometers (3,100 miles), as a major boost to its efforts to counter
China's regional dominance and become an Asian power in its own right.
The head of India's Defense Research and Development Organization,
Vijay Saraswat, said the missilewas launched at 8:07 a.m. from Wheeler
Island off India's east coast.
It rose to an altitude of more than 600 kilometers (370 miles),
itsthree stages worked properly and its payload was deployed as
planned,he told Times Now news channel.
"India has emerged from this launch as a major missile power," he said.
The window for the launch opened Wednesday night, but thetest had to

AN ART CRITIC IN AFRICA The Great Mosque in Djenné, Mali

--
The Great Mosque at Djenné in Mali at sunrise.
By HOLLAND COTTER
Published: April 19, 2012
DJENNÉ, Mali - As in so much of the Islamic world,"insha'Allah" - "if
God wills it" - is how people punctuate conversations inthis
predominantly MuslimWest African country. If you speak of starting a
project, or taking a trip, or trying to pay a debt, the outcome is
always understood to be conditional.
Recently Malians have had to trust heaven more than usual. The year's
millet crop arrived too early and much too thin. In late fall and
winter there were attacks on Europeans by a Qaeda affiliate. The
military overthrow of the government in Bamako, the nation's capital,
left one of Africa's poorest nations shut off from the world.
Meanwhile Tuareg rebels and Islamist forces have seized the northern
half of the country, including Timbuktu.
Tourism, so vital to the economy, has been reduced to a trickle,
though West Africa has never attracted the kind ofmonument-hungry
crowdsthat flood into Egypt. Most travelers who come here are in
search of "black" Africa - the Africa of so-called tribal art - and
many are only dimly aware of the extraordinaryvitality of Islamic
culture, old and new, below the Sahara.
In modern cities like Bamako, Mali's capital, andDakar in Senegal,
this culture often assumes a pop voice, with religious phrases
spray-painted across walls and devotional music pounding and keening
over the airwaves. In the ancient pilgrimage city of Djenné, set
between two rivers in the country's center and accessible only by
ferry, the voice is quieter, tempered by tradition, but also shaped
and, some would say, distorted, by modern intervention./- - -

Shocking rape video goes viral in South Africa

--
04.18.12
South Africans woke up on Wednesday morning to the claim that a group
of Soweto youths had filmed themselves raping a 17-year-old girl
believed to be mentally ill.
The cellphone video is said to have gone viral among school kids in
the township south of Johannesburg, and the term#rapevideo was
trending on Twitter in South Africa on Wednesday.
The Daily Sun, a local tabloid, reports that it alerted the police
after a concerned mother whose daughter was watching the video handed
it over to the paper on Tuesday.
"The mother of a teenage girl saw the horrifying pictures and
confiscated her daughter's phone. A work colleague of the woman said
they recognized some of the boys and advised her to take the video to
Daily Sun," the newspaper reported.
The suspects, aged between 14 and 20, were arrested Tuesday morning
and charged with kidnapping and rape, police spokesperson Warrant
Officer Kay Makhubela said.
"The video is very bad. The men can be clearly identified as they take
turns raping and filming her," she told CNN.
The girl's mother reported her missing on March 21, Makhubela said.
Media reports suggest the police initially failed to open a missing
persons case but that they have since done so.
Police suspect the girl was kidnapped and turned into a sex slave.
A local radio station got hold of the video and has been getting
requests to post it./- - -
