Interesting quote I came across:
“Giving precedence to others over yourself in those things which are obligatory is not allowed. For example, if a person only has enough water for himself with which to perform ablution and thereis another person with himwho needs water, he is notto give the water to the other person, the other person should do tayammum. Because this isgiving precedence to others over yourself in those things which are obligatory, and giving suchprecedence to others over yourself is haraam.’
- Sh. Ibn al-'Uthaymin [al-Sharh al-Mumti’, vol. 15,p. 40]
Honour your parents, makethem laugh, engage them in your life, let them see you responsible and capable, take their advice and make them feel loved and appreciated. Then see the blessings in your life blossoming wherever you turn.
May Allah make us of thosewho are dutiful to their parents, ameen
Be so close to the Qur'an that whenever you open toread it, it draws you in deeply and takes you on amazing journeys through power concepts and thought-provoki ng dialogue, through history and the undisputed facts ofthe future and Hereafter; learning life lessons and learning about yourself. The journey doesn't end until you end it (by closing the Book)
"Whatever Allah has decreed for His believing slave is a blessing even if that is in the form of withholding; it is a favour even if that is in the form of a trial, and the calamity decreed by him is fair even if it is painful."
~Imam Ibn Al Qayyim (Madarij al-Salikeen, 4/215)

Hosla chor gaya tha sath nibhane wala ,

Aj phr yad wo aya hy bhulane wala,
Ab kahen ja k mere zakhmbhare hain,

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
Once the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) remained behind us in a
journey. He joined us whilewe were performing ablution for the prayer
which was over-due. We were just passing wet hands over our feet (and not
washing them properly) so the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam)
addressed us in a loud voice and said twice or thrice: "Save your heels
from the fire."

"Whatever Allah has decreed for His believing slave is a blessing even if that is in the form of withholding; it is a favour even if that is in the form of a trial, and the calamity decreed by him is fair even if it is painful."
Allah has named Himself Al-Mujeeb, which means the One who responds. Justas we are certain that the Qur’an is true, we must be certain that Allah, Al-Mujeeb, will answer our call. We should never think that Allah will not answer, because by feeling so, we are denying this attribute (siffat) of Allah.
Allah may delay answering your prayer for a number of reasons; one is to test your trust in Him. We all say we believe Allah is the Al-Mujeeb when everythinglands at our feet, but what about when we don’t immediately see the fruits of our du'a? I knew a woman who was telling the story of how her husband did not pray. When she married him, shedidn’t know, and as the marriage progressed she discovered that he was skeptical of religion as well.So she would wake up every night for qiyam al-layl (the night prayer) and plead with Allah to guide Him. Do you know how long she prayed for? Two years. And she says it was so unexpected; he came home from a business trip with a complete change of heart. It turns out that on the plane he was seated next to a great sheikh who began talking to him. And that is how he changed.
Allah does not place a burden on us greater than we can bear. If the answer to your du`a’ has been delayed, it’s because Allah KNOWS you can handle it. He tests those whom He loves, so keep asking and remember that Allah makes with hardship ease. And remember, as with tawakkul, we need to exerteffort as well/
